Post Management of Clinical Nursing Specialist in Comprehensive Children ’s Hospital

Abstract:Objective To establish a post management system for clinical nursing specialists (CNS) in comprehensive children ’s hospital. Methods A pediatric CNS post management system was established through post requirements survey, post setting, post description, post training and evaluation. Results Nursing quality was improved and scientific research was promoted after the establishment of CNS post management system. CNS in each department all strive for promotion and innovation. Specicially, 25 CNS participated in chief-physician ward-round for 588 times and they developed or revised 113 nursing measures and 77 items in nursing operation procedure. Totally, CNS in each departments organized or participated in theoretial tests with 3, 266 participants, operational tests with 2,768 participants, 345 ward mini-lectures, 892 teaching ward-rounds, 57 periods of nursing course, 12 periods of courses of continuing educaiton of national-level, 19 projects of quality improvement of hospital-level, 216 times of qualtiy control evaluation on specialist nursing and 9 projects of hospital-level or university-level. CNS also published 15 papers in core journaly of nursing and complied textbooks for 12,401 words. Conclusion As nursing care provider, cooperator, educator, manager and researcher, CNS play different role in nursing.
