Abstract:A gold-catalyzed regioselective [3 + 2] cycloaddition of alkynyl triazenes with 1,2,4-dioxazoles was developed. The triazene group in the products could be replaced to obtain iodo-oxazoles, providing potential transformations to diverse oxazole structures. This protocol features readily available starting materials, mild reaction conditions and scalability. A plausible mechanism involving a nitrene transfer process was proposed.

Abstract:A palladium(ii)-catalyzed intramolecular oxidative aza-Wacker-type reaction of vinyl cyclopropanecarboxamides to access a series of conformationally restricted highly substituted aza[3.1.0]bicycles is reported. The transformation proceeded through a typical aza-Wacker reaction mechanism to forge a new C-N bond with oxygen as the terminal oxidant. The desired fused heterocycles were obtained in moderate yields. The process is tolerant of a range of functional aryl groups under mild conditions.

Abstract:This study describes a palladium-catalyzed decarboxylative (5 + 5) cyclization reaction of vinyloxazolidine-2,4-diones. The cyclization reaction between aza-π-allylpalladium and oxa-π-allylpalladium intermediates, both in situ generated from vinyloxazolidine-2,4-diones, is successfully realized to produce a series of ten-membered N,O-containing heterocycles in up to 90% yield. This work represents a pioneering application of vinyloxazolidine-2,4-diones as oxa-π-allylpalladium species precursor for the construction of heterocyclic compounds.

Abstract:A palladium-catalyzed highly regioselective C-H allylation/annulation reaction of N-sulfonyl amides with secondary or tertiary allylic alcohols has been developed to construct 3,4-dihydroisoquinolones bearing a synthetically valuable vinyl substituent. This cascade cyclization approach of allylic alcohols involving C-H allylation has not been reported previously. The commercially available allylic alcohol substrates, the only by-product of water, and the used terminal oxidant of O2 provide environmentally benign advantages.

Abstract:A tandem coupling-ketooxygenation reaction of readily accessible enediyne-carboxylic compounds with inner alkynes has been developed that utilizes the PdCl2/CuBr2 catalytic system under an O2 atmosphere and assembles a class of isoindolinones and o-acylbenzoic acids. The two oxygen atoms are regioselectively incorporated into enediyne units at the 1- and 6-positions from atmospheric molecular oxygen and H2O, respectively, during the present process. This study uncovered a formal [4C + 2C] benzannulation-diketonization of enediynes and alkynes via a coupling and decoupling strategy.

Abstract:The first example of Yb(OTf)(3)-catalyzed tandem ring opening/Friedel-Crafts cyclization of oxiranyl and aziridinyl ketones via selective C-C bond cleavage under mild conditions was developed. Abstract:An Iridium-catalyzed [4+3] cyclization of ortho -tosylaminophenyl-substituted para -quinone methides with vinylic oxiranes or vinyl aziridines has been successfully developed. In the presence of [Ir(cod)Cl] 2 and a suitable base, this unprecedented cascade reaction occurs readily in good yield (up to 97%) and high diastereoselectivity (dr >20:1), providing a highly efficient synthetic approach to synthetically valuable seven-membered heterocyclic frameworks.

The control experiments demonstrated that Pd(PPh3)(2)Cl-2 serves a key role in the dimerization of terminal ynamides and shows low catalytic activity in the intramolecular cyclization. Moreover, the hetero-Diels-Alder reaction of product 5-vinyloxazolones was also described, which provided polycyclic oxazolones in good yield.

Abstract:An efficient synthesis of 2,5-disubstituted oxazoles via Co(III) catalysis is described herein. The synthesis is achieved under mild conditions through [3+ 2] cycloaddition of N-pivaloyloxyamides and alkynes. The reaction operates through an internal oxidation pathway and features a very broad substrate scope. The one-step synthesis of natural products such as texamine and balsoxin has been demonstrated via this protocol.

Abstract:A highly efficient and atom-economic route to synthesize 5-(1,3,4-alkatrien-2-yl)oxazolidin-2-ones via palladium-catalyzed cyclization reactions of 2,3-allenyl amines with propargylic carbonates was reported. The CO(2) generated in situ from propargylic carbonates is incorporated into the oxazolidin-2-one unit with high efficiency, affording the products in 70-92% yields.

Abstract:Aza-Heck cyclization of alkene-tethered oxime esters has received considerable attention as an effective strategy for synthesizing 1-pyrroline derivatives. However, the achievement of tandem aza-Heck reaction with alkyl electrophiles remains a challenge. Herein, we report a palladium-catalyzed tandem aza-Heck reaction of alkene-tethered oxime esters with cyclopropanols. This catalytic system features mild conditions and broad substrate scopes, allowing the direct synthesis of structurally diverse 1-pyrroline derivatives in good yields.
