Abstract:Objective To explore the safety and clinical efficacy of robot-assisted laparoscopic extended partial cystecto my in the treatment of urachal carcinoma.Methods The clinical data of 3 patients with urachal carcinoma treated with robot-assisted laparoscopic extended partial cystectomy during Sep.2014 and Mar.2017 in Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital were retrospectively analyzed.The surgical results were evaluated.Results The average operation time was 190 (180,190,200) min;the average intraoperative blood loss was 96 (80,100,110) mL;no significant complications were observed in the perioperative period.Pathological results showed that 2 cases were mucinous adenocarcinoma,and 1 case was intestinal adenocarcinoma.The incisal margin in all 3 cases was negative.During the follow-up of 12(4,12,18) months,no tumor recurrence or distant metastasis occurred.Conclusion Robot-assisted laparoscopic extended partial cystectomy is safe and feasible in the treatment of urachal carcinoma.

Abstract:BackgroundSitus inversus totalis (SIT) is a congenital condition wherein organs in abdominal or thoracic cavity are mirrored from their normal positions. Abdominal cocoon, is a rare disease of unknown aetiology that is characterised by total or partial small intestine encapsulation by a compact fibrocollagenous membrane. Aside from having two extremely rare conditions (SIT and Abdominal cocoon), our patient developed renal cell carcinoma (RCC), which makes this case even more uncommon.Case PresentationWe report the case of a 64-year-old man who was admitted to our hospital with an extremely rare case of localized RCC in the left kidney complicated with SIT and abdominal cocoon. Computer tomography urography (CTU) and angiography (CTA) showed that the patient was confirmed as having SIT, for the space-occupying lesion in the left kidney, clear cell RCC (ccRCC) was considered, the lesion in the right kidney was probably cystic. We diagnosed our patient as having a cT1aN0M0 left RCC, and the RENAL score was 7x. With partial nephrectomy (PN) being the preferred treatment approach, robot-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (RALPN) was performed after obtaining informed consent. After insertion of the laparoscope, adhesions were observed between the entire colon and the anterior abdominal wall. Then, abdominal cocoon was diagnosed. The surgery was uneventful, and the tumour was resected successfully while preserving the tumour capsule. No intestinal injury or any other complication occurred in the intraoperative or postoperative, and the patient recovered well after the operation.ConclusionPN is an extremely challenging procedure in patients with SIT and abdominal cocoon. The da Vinci Xi surgical system and thorough preoperative assessment allowed the surgeon to overcome stereotyping, visual inversion, and successfully perform PN in a patient with SIT and abdominal cocoon without increasing the risk of complications and preserving as much renal function as possible. Considering the satisfactory outcomes, this report may hopefully provide a practical reference for the treatment of RCC in patients with other special conditions.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy of single-port retroperitoneal laparoscopic renal cystectomy.Methods 18 cases with renal cyst underwent the single-port retroperitoneal laparoscopic renal cystectomy.Results All procedures were techni-cally successful.The mean operating time was 23(11-42) minutes.The mean estimated blood loss was 26(10-50) ml.All patients with only one 2.5 cm scar on the lumbar recover out-of-bed activity after anesthesia.The mean hospital stay after surgery was 1.2 days.No intraoperative complications occurred.No local recurrence was observed during a mean follow-up of 3.4 months.Conclusions Single-port retroperitoneal laparoscopic renal cystectomy is a feasible option for patients with renal cyst.It offers a new effective and minimally invasive treatment for selected patients.However,the long-term effects of the procedure need further investigation.
Mucinous Cystadenoma of the Urachal Remnant Successfully Resected by Laparoscopic Surgery: A Case Report

Abstract:A urachal remnant is a disorder resulting from a disturbance in the closure process of the urachus. A 55-year-old man was referred to our hospital for treatment of gallstones. The computed tomography scan revealed a cystic mass in the lower abdomen connecting to the urinary bladder. The preoperative diagnosis was a urachal cyst. Simultaneous laparoscopic cholecystectomy, mass resection, and urachectomy were performed. The mass on the cranial side of the urinary bladder was located on the median umbilical ligament. Both were resected and removed, along with the umbilicus. The postoperative course was uneventful. The histopathological diagnosis was urachal mucinous cystadenoma. There is no sign of a recurrence. A complete resection without damage is especially important for mucinous tumors of the urachal remnant because the injury to the tumor may lead to the development of pseudomyxoma peritonei. Only seven cases of mucinous cystadenoma of the urachal remnant were reported in English literature, and only one of these was treated with laparoscopic surgery. In our case, complete resection was possible by taking advantage of the magnifying effect of laparoscopic surgery. Furthermore, we are able to provide very clear intraoperative images and specimen photographs, which we believe will be useful for readers. Laparoscopic surgery will be beneficial when treating similar cases in the future. However, it should be kept in mind that a safe resection requires careful and meticulous technique.

Abstract:Background. Upper tract urothelial carcinoma remains an uncommon disease that is clinically difficult to identify early and surveil. Open nephroureterectomy is the gold standard for patients with high-grade disease, especially for patients in whom surveillance is complicated such as those with prior cystectomies/ileal conduits. This report presents a case of a patient with a history of radical cystectomy and ileal conduit construction who underwent a successful minimally invasive robotic surgery for treatment of upper tract urothelial carcinoma. Case Presentation. The patient is a 72-year-old Caucasian male with a history of recurrent superficial bladder tumors treated with cystoscopies with fulguration, Bacillus Calmette-Guerin, and a robot-assisted cystectomy with ileal conduit diversion presenting with recurrent urinary tract infections and hematuria secondary to a ureteral stricture. The patient was admitted previously for urosepsis during which time a percutaneous nephrostomy tube was inserted on the right side. Upon presentation, imaging revealed a lesion extending from the lower pole of the right kidney into the renal pelvis. The presence of a nephrostomy and urostomy allowed the surgical team to utilize a minimally invasive approach to remove the diseased kidney and ureter with visualization enhanced by indocyanine green. Conclusion. Minimally invasive robot-assisted approaches to treating upper tract urothelial carcinomas may offer an alternative to the open cases typically employed in cases of patients with prior ileal conduit. Furthermore, utilizing indocyanine green may expand the applicability of such approaches to uro-oncologic cases with greater complexity.

Abstract:Leiomyoma is a rare benign tumour of the urinary bladder. Typically, bladder leiomyomas are treated with transurethral resection, which yields favourable results. We present a clinical case of a 29-year-old man with a symptomatic bladder tumour, initially diagnosed on flexible cystoscopy and CT scan. Subsequent transurethral resection and MRI scan confirmed a transmural bladder leiomyoma invading the urachal remnant. The patient was subsequently treated with robotic partial cystectomy. The presentation and management, including imaging and histopathology results, are discussed with a brief review of the literature.

Abstract:Background: The ectopic pelvic kidney, a common renal anomaly, is often smaller and malformed, with a shorter and sometimes tortuous ureter (1). Muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC), constituting 15-25% of bladder cancer cases (2), mandates radical cystectomy with a 50% 5-year survival rate (2). Despite the growing use of robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) (3, 4), there is limited data on its application in ectopic kidneys. Only one RARC case has been reported (5), in contrast to numerous open radical cystectomies (1, 6) involving an ectopic kidney. Patient and methods: After being diagnosed with T2 high-grade urothelial carcinoma, the 66-year-old patient, previously treated with multiple transurethral resections and adjuvant BCG therapy, received neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Preoperative staging CT revealed a 2.6 x 2.2 cm bladder neoformation and an ectopic right pelvic kidney. Results: Using the da Vinci Surgical System, radical cystectomy with ileal conduit (sec Wallace II) and lymphadenectomy were performed. During the demolition phase, the shorter right ureter was dissected with care to avoid damage to the renal pedicle. The reconstructive phase included intracorporeal urinary diversion (ICUD) and uretero-ileal anastomosis, facilitated by the favorable position of the kidney. The 8-hour console surgery resulted in minimal blood loss. Discharged on day 16 due to COVID-19, the patient exhibited positive outcomes. A 2-month CT follow-up revealed no cancer recurrence, metastasis, hydronephrosis, and complete regression of the lymphocele. Imaging follow-up continues without postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Conclusion: Robotic surgery with intracorporeal urinary diversion holds potential for right-sided pelvic kidney cases, but additional studies are necessary for validation.

Abstract:Objectives Radical cystectomy with urinary diversion is the gold standard treatment for bladder cancer (high-risk/muscle invasive). The transperitoneal approach is associated with significant gastrointestinal complications like ileus. In the elderly and frail with a single functional kidney, we describe an extraperitoneal technique of radical cystectomy, with a ureterostomy, to be performed without general anesthesia. Materials and methods The elderly, frail, and high-risk candidates for general anesthesia, with a prior history of nephroureterectomy with a second primary muscle-invasive bladder cancer, were chosen. All patients underwent the described procedure under combined spinal and epidural anesthesia. The posterior dissection was retrograde, caudal to cranial, with the peritoneum being opened only for resection of the dome. A cutaneous ureterostomy was fashioned on the side of the functional kidney. Peri-operative parameters were assessed for early recovery in this high-risk group. Results The mean age was 82 years (range: 73–91), with Charleson Comorbidity Index 5, and were all deemed unfit for neoadjuvant chemotherapy. With a median duration of 127.5 minutes, an average blood loss of 225ml, and no patient requiring general anesthesia; early ambulation, early return of bowel function, and a lesser hospital stay (7 days) with minimal morbidity were achieved. Negative surgical margins were achieved in all cases, with a mean harvest of 29 lymph nodes. Only 1 patient developed stomal stenosis. The cause-specific survival (CSS) is 100% at 2 years. Conclusions The highlighting features are the early return of bowel function (flatus passage on day 1) and the avoidance of the cardio-pulmonary complications of general anesthesia. The extraperitoneal cystectomy offers a promising alternative in this select group and warrants further studies to extrapolate this technique for bilateral urinary drainage.

Successful bladder-sparing partial cystectomy for muscle-invasive domal urothelial carcinoma with sarcomatoid differentiation: a case report

Abstract:High-grade (HG) urothelial carcinoma (UC) with variant histology has historically been managed conservatively. The presented case details a solitary lesion of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) with sarcomatoid variant (SV) histology treated by partial cystectomy (PC) and adjuvant chemotherapy. A 71-year-old male with a 15-pack year smoking history presented after outside transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURBT). Computerized tomography imaging was negative for pelvic lymphadenopathy, a 2 cm broad-based papillary tumor at the bladder dome was identified on office cystoscopy. Complete staging TURBT noted a final pathology of invasive HG UC with areas of spindle cell differentiation consistent with sarcomatous changes and no evidence of lymphovascular invasion. The patient was inclined toward bladder-preserving options. PC with a 2 cm margin and bilateral pelvic lymphadenectomy was performed. Final pathology revealed HG UC with sarcomatoid differentiation and invasion into the deep muscularis propria, consistent with pathologic T2bN0 disease, a negative margin, and no lymphovascular invasion. Subsequently, the patient pursued four doses of adjuvant doxorubicin though his treatment was complicated by hand-foot syndrome. At 21 months postoperatively, the patient developed a small (<1 cm) papillary lesion near but uninvolved with the left ureteral orifice. Blue light cystoscopy and TURBT revealed noninvasive low-grade Ta UC. To date, the patient has no evidence of HG UC recurrence; 8 years after PC. Patient maintains good bladder function and voiding every 3–4 h with a bladder capacity of around 350 ml. Surgical extirpation with PC followed by adjuvant chemotherapy may represent a durable solution for muscle invasive (pT2) UC with SV histology if tumor size and location are amenable. Due to the sparse nature of sarcomatous features within UC, large multicenter studies are required to further understand the clinical significance and optimal management options for this variant histology.

Abstract:Bladder urothelial carcinoma is one of the common urological tumors.For muscle invasive bladder cancer,radical cystectomy and chemotherapy is the current standard treatment.Radical cystectomy is the most complicated urological surgery,with a high risk of complications and secondary surgery,which also affected the quality of life after surgery.Partial cystectomy has been used as a once common surgery.Early a part of retrospective studies have caused a high recurrence rate because some patients were not suitable for partial cystectomy.If the surgical indications can be strictly controlled,the postoperative recurrence rate can be controlled.At present,the commonly used partial cystectomy includes laparoscopic partial cystectomy,robotic partial cystectomy and open partial cystectomy.Neoadjuvant therapy and adjuvant therapy are also the development direction of partial cystectomy.Partial cystectomy is an option for some patients who plan to perform radical cystectomy.This review will summarize the research progress of partial cystectomy for bladder urothelial carcinoma.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To investigate the feasibility of side-docking techniques in robot-assisted urologic pelvic surgery.MATERIALS AND METHODS: Six consecutive patients undergoing robot-assisted pelvic surgery participated in the study: 3 undergoing radical cystectomy for muscle-invasive bladder cancer, 1 patient undergoing ureteroneocystostomy for ureteric stricture, 1 patient undergoing partial cystectomy for urothelial cancer in a bladder diverticulum, and 1 undergoing transvesical simple prostatectomy. Each patient was placed in the lithotomy-Trendelenburg position, with the robot docked over the patient's right side.RESULTS: All the procedures were completed without the need for redocking. Simultaneous cystourethroscopy was performed in 1 case to localize a bladder diverticular tumor during a partial cystectomy. Manipulation of the uterus and perineum was possible by the second assistant sitting between the patients' legs. No significant collision between the robotic arms occurred. There was no Clavien-Dindo III-V complication in any case.CONCLUSION: Side docking for robot-assisted urologic pelvic surgery is a viable positioning alternative with the advantage of enhanced access to the perineum and urethra. This modified approach will be useful in robot-assisted radical cystectomy and other reconstructive urologic procedures.

Abstract:Introduction: This article compares surgical and survival outcomes of robot-assisted and open radical cystectomy with cutaneous ureterostomy for the treatment of frail bladder cancer patients with limited life expectancy. Methods: The institutional database was searched for cystectomy cases with cutaneous ureterostomy, from 1 June 2016 to 31 August 2022. The study population was split into two groups, according to the surgical approach. The baseline characteristics and surgical outcomes were compared. Logistic regression analyses identified predictors of major bleeding events (hemoglobin loss ≥ 3.5 g/dL or blood transfusion) and re-operation within 30 days from surgery. The Kaplan–Meier method estimated the impact of the robotic approach on overall survival and Cox regression analysis assessed its predictors. Results: A total of 145 patients were included: 30% (n = 43) underwent robotic cystectomy. Patients' characteristics and tumor stages distribution were comparable in the two groups but those receiving a minimally invasive treatment showed significantly reduced times to flatus, bowel and hospital discharge (all p < 0.001). Although operation times were longer in this cohort, major bleeding events (60% vs. 89%) and postoperative severe complications (0 vs. 8%) (both p < 0.001) were less frequent compared to the open approach. A logistic regression showed that robotic surgery independently predicted major bleeding events (OR: 0.26; 95%CI 0.09–0.72; p = 0.02) but not the need for re-intervention. A Kaplan–Meier analysis showed that robotic cystectomy was associated with a significant advantage in terms of overall survival (LogRank = 0.03), and this result was confirmed by Cox regression analysis (HR: 0.39; 95%CI 0.14–0.94; p = 0.04). Conclusions: Robotic cystectomy with cutaneous ureterostomy may represent a viable option to treat frail bladder cancer patients, as the minimally invasive approach reduces the risk of bleeding and serious complications and provides a prompt restoration of bowel function and a shorter hospital stay compared to open surgery.

Abstract:Radical cystectomy with pelvic lymph node dissection is the recommended treatment for managing muscle-invasive carcinoma of the urinary bladder. Early recurrence is observed in only about 4.1% of cases. Port-site metastasis following robot-assisted radical cystectomy is extremely rare. We encountered a challenging and a rare case of bladder cancer that manifested with port-site and peritoneal metastasis within 6 weeks of surgery.

Abstract:In the present case, the IHC panel, combined with imaging findings of a bladder anterior wall tumor, strongly suggested urachal carcinoma over primary bladder cancer or adenocarcinomas from other organs. Additionally, the lung mass was histologically similar to the resected urachal carcinoma, with positive expression of CK7, CK20, Villin, and CDX2, and negative for GATA3, TTF1, and NapsinA, supporting the diagnosis of metastatic urachal carcinoma rather than primary lung adenocarcinoma. Due to the rarity of urachal carcinoma, evidence‐based treatment guidelines are lacking. And urachal carcinoma is currently managed similarly to urothelial bladder carcinoma, with surgery being the primary treatment modality. Arising from the urachal epithelial lining, the urachal carcinoma is a rare tumor, which accounts for 0.35%–0.7% of all bladder cancers. Urachal carcinoma has a higher predilection in men with median age around 50–60 years old. The most common clinical symptom is intermittent painless gross hematuria, and less‐reported presentations include suprapubic mass, dysuria, lower abdominal pain, and frequent urination. The pathological study reveals that most cases (90%) are categorized as an intestinal adenocarcinoma subtype, while other morphological variants, including mucinous, enteric, signet ring cell subtype, not otherwise specified (NOS), squamous cell carcinoma, urothelial carcinoma, sarcoma, small cell carcinoma, and undifferentiated carcinoma, totally account for about 10%. The urachal carcinoma occurs mostly in the lower segment of urachal tube and bladder dome or anterior wall. However, due to the classically silent nature of the early lesions and high malignancy, urachal carcinoma patients are commonly diagnosed in advanced stage. Treatment modalities for local recurrence or metastatic urachal cancer include surgery and chemotherapy (cisplatin and 5‐FU based‐chemotherapy). Meanwhile, the EGFR‐, PD‐L1‐, and MEK‐targeted therapies in the metastatic urachal carcinoma cases showed satisfactory response. We presented a rare case of Sheldon stage IVB urachal adenocarcinoma with pulmonary metastasis, and the patient had no progression of disease 6 months following surgical treament without chemoradiotherapy.

Laparoscapic radical cystectomy with Studer orthotopic ileal neobladder

Abstract:Objective To discuss the technique of laparoscopie radical cystectomy with Studer orthotopic ileal neobladder. Methods Eight men with bladder cancer who were indicated for radical surgery underwent laparoscopic cysteetomy with Studer orthotopic ileal neobladder. The ages were be-tween 51 and 69 with the mean age was 57 years. Seven cases were transitional cell carcinoma and 1 case was adenocarcinoma. A 5-port approach was employed. The first step was the bilateral pevic lymphadenectomiy including obturator lymph nodes, internal and external iliac lymph nodes. Then ventral surface of the bladder was mobilized and the bilateral endopelvic fascia was incised. Next step included the stich of dorsal vein complex and dissection of both the vas deferens and seminal vesicles. Denonvillier's fascia was incised to develop the plane between the rectum and the prostate. The urethra located in the prostatic apex was divided and transected thereby completely separating the specimen. Then the specimen was placed in a packet. Finally, a 6-8 cm lower median abdominal incision was performed, through which the specimen was extracted. Construction of the Studer pouch. A portion of terminal ileum about 45cm long was isolated approximately 20cm proximal to the ileocecal valve. The ends of the isolated ileal segment were closed to restore the bowel continuity. The distal 40 cm segment of ileum was placed in a U shape and opened along the antimesenteric border. The two medial borders were then oversewn and the bottom was folded over to form a neobladder. The ureters were anastomosed to the nonineised 5 cm portion of ileum. Finally, the neobladder was put into the abdomi-nal cavity and the anastomosis between the neck of the neobladder and the end of the remaining ure-theral was performed with interrupted suture. Results All the procedures were successful. The time of the operation was 6-8 h with the mean estimated blood loss 420(200-800)ml. Complication included 1 case of right ureteral indigitation in neobladder. The postoperative histopathology revealed 7 cases of pT2 and 1 cases of pT3. No positive margin was found. The follow-up (3 - 12 months) showed no recurrence. Conclusions The technique of laparoseopic radical cystectomy is feasible with the advantages of smaller incision and less blood loss. Studer orthotopic ileal neobladder has the ad-vantages of simple skill, antireflux, better postoperative urination.
An Improved Technique for Bladder Cancer: Pure Laparoscopic Radical Cystectomy with Orthotopic U-shape Ileal Neobladder Using Titanium Staples

Abstract:Objective: To report our experience with an improved technique of laparoscopic radical cystectomy (LRC) and orthotopic ileal neobladder reconstruction, evaluating the perioperative and pathological outcomes. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the data of 56 cases who underwent radical cystoprostatectomy followed by construction of an orthotopic U-shaped ileal neobladder between August 2010 and December 2014. These data include intraoperative data, early and long-term postoperative complications, neobladder function, urinary continence and oncologic results. Also the key innovative procedure was introduced with details. Results: The median time of the overall procedure was 212 min The median estimated blood loss was 171 ml. The median hospitalization time after the operation was 21 days. Complications included two cases of unilateral ureter-pouch anastomotic strictures, one case of bilateral ureteral stricture, three cases of vesicourethral anastomotic strictures and three cases of vesicourethral leakage. The mean maximum pouch capacity was 446 +/- 32 ml, and pouch pressure at capacity was 18.1 +/- 2.6 cm H2O. The Qmax was 14 +/- 1.2 ml/s, and the mean postvoid residual was 25 +/- 10 ml. There were 9 cases of night-time incontinence at 3 months post-operatively. Negative surgical margins of the bladder specimens were achieved in all patients. During a follow-up period of 3-44 months (average 32.6 months), local recurrence was found in two patients and distant metastasis was occurred in another 3 patients. Conclusions: Our preliminary experience showed that pure LRC with nonabsorbable titanium staples assisted orthotopic U-shape ileal neobladder reconstruction is feasible based on perioperative data and oncologic features. Robotic Ureter Reimplantation After Urinary Diversion

Abstract:Introduction: Benign ureterointestinal anastomotic stricture (UIAS) is a recognized long-term complication following radical cystectomy with urinary diversion (UD). The incidence of UIAS following robotic-assisted radical cystectomy varies, with reported rates ranging from 6.5%-25.3%.1 Although endourologic treatments have been employed, their overall success rate is relatively low, ranging from 26%-50%. In contrast, open surgical revision has demonstrated higher success rates, between 80% and 91%.2,3 Given the morbidity associated with open surgery, there has been a shift toward minimally invasive approaches. The robotic approach offers a minimally invasive alternative to open surgery that is not inferior, with similar outcomes for UIAS reconstruction.4 In this video, we demonstrate a robotic technique for the revision of UIAS, which aims to combine the effectiveness of open surgery with the reduced morbidity of a minimally invasive approach. Materials and methods: From May 2020-March 2023, 6 patients underwent surgery. The mean age was 62 years (range 49-68 years). Among these, 2 patients received conduits in open technique and 4 were provided with robotic neobladders. The strictures were located as follows: 2 on the left side, 2 on the right, and 2 on both sides. The average time to stricture formation in the series was 4.5 months. The case presented involves a 49-year-old man who developed a left ureteroileal anastomotic stricture (UIAS) 6 months following robot-assisted radical cystectomy and neobladder creation. The obstruction was managed initially with nephrostomy tube drainage. The surgical technique employed is demonstrated in a step-by-step manner. Standard Da Vinci surgical instruments were used. The patient was positioned in a 30° Trendelenburg position, with port placement similar to that in robotic prostatectomy. The pneumoperitoneum was established through a supraumbilical mini-laparotomy using the Hasson technique. Adhesions around the neobladder were carefully freed. Subsequently, the affected ureter and the stricture were identified and localized. This was achieved by intraluminal application of 10 mL of indocyanine green solution (2.5 mg/mL concentration) through the nephrostomy catheter. The ureter was mobilized as needed. The ureteral stricture was identified and then fully excised. To exclude any malignancy at the ureteral margin, a frozen section analysis was conducted. The ureter was then spatulated. Reanastomosis between the ureter and neobladder was performed using a continuous 4-0 Stratafix suture. A double-J ureteral catheter was inserted to secure the anastomosis, and the anastomosis was completed over this catheter. Results: The mean operative time at the robotic console was 122 minutes, ranging from 80-160 minutes, and the mean blood loss was 42 mL, within a range of 50-100 mL. Intraoperative frozen sections revealed no evidence of malignancy in all cases. No postoperative complications exceeding Clavien-Dindo grade 3 were observed. Two patients were treated for symptomatic urinary tract infections. The median length of stay in the hospital was 4 days, with a range of 2-7 days. Median times for cystography with transurethral catheter removal and double-J catheter removal were 15 postoperative days (range: 12-27) and 23 postoperative days (range: 17-37), respectively. No recurrence of the condition was observed during a mean follow-up period of 23 months (range 6-40 months). Conclusion: The robotic approach represents a viable, minimally invasive alternative to conventional open surgery for the reconstruction of UIAS following urinary diversion. The surgical outcomes are comparable to those of open surgery, with the added benefits of a minimally invasive approach, including reduced blood loss and shorter hospital stays.
