Abstract:Purpose Based on the theory of planned behavior and social cognitive theory, this study investigates the relationship between entrepreneurial alertness (EA) and entrepreneurial intention (EI) through the mediating role of entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) and the moderating role of entrepreneurial climate (EC) in the "triple disruptions" of pandemic, Industry 4.0, and innovative technology.Design/Approach/Methods This study collected data from 717 Chinese university students and adopted a moderated mediation model to verify the proposed construct. All data were acquired online via Wenjuanxing software and analyzed with SPSS and SmartPLS.Findings Results show that (1) EA, ESE, and EC are significant predictors of EI; (2) ESE partially mediates the relationship between EA and EI; and (3) EC moderates the relationship between ESE and EI.Originality/Value The originality of this study lies in its use of an inner- and outer-moderator framework to examine student entrepreneurial intentions. The results of this study demonstrate that EA, ESE, and EC are crucial determinants of EI among Chinese university students. These findings of this study have empirical implications for governments, universities, and individuals insofar as they can be used to enhance students' ability to recognize entrepreneurial opportunities, foster ESE, create ECs, and facilitate EI by offering multiple entrepreneurship-related resources.

Abstract:Research shows that entrepreneurial activities significantly promote economic development, which enhances the importance of the innovative entrepreneurial potential of college students. This study analyzes the effect of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intention from the perspective of planned behavior theory. By examining the significant role of entrepreneurship education at colleges and universities on economic and social development, we established a conceptual model. To understand the relationship between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention, the hypotheses propose the intermediary role of entrepreneurial ability, and the study provides evidence from China the relationship between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention. Improving entrepreneurial intention and encouraging college students to establish businesses through entrepreneurship education in universities is crucial. This study proposes a hypothetical model of the relationship between entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial intention in entrepreneurship education at universities. Using a questionnaire survey of college students with practical experience in the Yangtze River Delta of China, the bootstrap method in the SPSS macro program process software verifies the hypotheses. The results show that entrepreneurial teaching, business plan competition, and entrepreneurial practice support positively affect entrepreneurial competence. In addition, entrepreneurial competence plays an intermediary role in the relationship between entrepreneurial teaching, business plan competition, entrepreneurship practice support, and entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurship education improves the ability to establish a business in the present and in entrepreneurial activities in the future. Entrepreneurial competence obtained through entrepreneurship education continuously affects entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract:With 521 university students being tested,adopting the modeling technology of structural equation,we constructed the relationship model featuring university students' entrepreneurship personality traits,entrepreneur social resources,entrepreneurship prior knowledge,and entrepreneurship cognition and entrepreneurship intention.To measure the university students' intention of enterpreneurship,the results show that entrepreneur self-cognition is the medieval variables that influence the personality traits,social resources and prior knowledge in the course of entrepreneurship intention.In addition,the freshmen have got notably higher scores in the factors of entrepreneurship intention than the other grades of students;the senior students have got notably lower scores than the other grades of students;the students who have received entrepreneurship curriculum have got notably higher scores than those who haven't received that;the students with experiences of starting an undertaking have got notably higher scores than those without that experiences.The research results of influencing factors of university's intention of starting an undertaking have offered effective basis for university entrepreneurship education,and decision-making institutions to formulate university students' entrepreneurship policy,as well as the tool for evaluating the level of entrepreneurship intention of university students.

Abstract:By adopting the methodology of experiment research, the influencing factors of entrepreneurial cognition and its effect to the entrepreneurial cooperation and entrepreneurial intention have been studied. The results indicated that undergraduates' entrepreneurial cognition is affected by the self-efficacy, others evaluation, the perceived others evaluation. The entrepreneurial self-efficacy and the perceived others evaluation have played an interactive role in entrepreneurial intention. The entrepreneurial cooperation has served as a mediator in the process of the perceived others evaluation affecting the entrepreneurial intention. Therefore, the entrepreneur education in higher education institutes in China should improve the undergraduates' entrepreneurial self-efficacy, reinforce the confidence of entrepreneurial success, and pay more attention to the construction of entrepreneurial team.

Abstract:Entrepreneurship competitions are an important way to implement entrepreneurship education in universities and the main way for many students improve their entrepreneurial competence. To clarify the mechanism of the role of entrepreneurship competition on the entrepreneurial competence of university students, based on data from a sample of 170,764 university students from 31 provinces in China, this study constructs a moderated mediation model that focuses on the mediating role of entrepreneurial spirit (ES) in entrepreneurial competition (ECompetition) and entrepreneurial competence (ECompetence) and the moderating role of entrepreneurial practice (EP). The results showed that ECompetition found to have a significant positive predictive effect on ECompetence. ES plays a mediating role in the relationship between ECompetition and competence. The direct predictive effect of ECompetition on ECompetence and the mediating effect of ES on their relationship is moderated by EP. The results provide a new perspective on the impact of entrepreneurship competition on college students’ entrepreneurial competence and expands the experiential learning theory in entrepreneurship education.

Abstract:The ideal stage to learn about and foster positive attitudes toward entrepreneurship is believed to be during childhood and adolescence. However, most entrepreneurial studies examine college rather than secondary school students (SSS). Based on a modified theory of planned behavior (TPB), this study used stratified cluster sampling and a questionnaire to review current entrepreneurship education in secondary schools. In addition, the effects of entrepreneurship education, personal traits, and demographics on attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control (PBC), and entrepreneurial intentions (EI) on 1018 SSS in China were studied. Differences, correlations, and structural equation modeling analysis indicated the following. (1) Most SSS had never received entrepreneurship education, likely resulting in lowered entrepreneurial intention and perception of entrepreneurial behavioral performance as unrealistically easy. (2) Cognitive bias existed in SSS’s perceptions of entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial behaviors were regarded as external cause-oriented activities. (3) Gender and entrepreneurial experience of family member also influenced EI and related variables. (4) Entrepreneurship education and personal traits (locus of control and innovativeness) were significantly positive predictors of EI, and (5) their effects on EI were completely mediated by PBC. The findings supported the TPB predictions, and the results offered some implications for entrepreneurship education in Chinese secondary schools: (1) developing entrepreneurial personal traits while eliminating examination-oriented education, (2) enhancing SSS’s entrepreneurial confidence so entrepreneurial behaviors are perceived as easier and more achievable, and (3) constructing systematic entrepreneurship courses to guarantee transition from secondary to higher education.

Abstract:Based on relevant literature, this study adopted entrepreneurial learning theory to construct a relationship model between entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurial intention. In this framework, entrepreneurial learning was divided into three dimensions: entrepreneurial education learning, experiential learning, and social network learning. A questionnaire survey was conducted among 1,399 undergraduate students in Zhejiang Province to investigate how entrepreneurial learning influenced entrepreneurial intention, while considering the mediating effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy. This empirical research found that: (1) experiential learning and social network learning had significant positive impacts on entrepreneurial intention, but there was no significant relationship between entrepreneurial education learning and entrepreneurial intention; (2) entrepreneurship education learning and social network learning had significant positive relationships with entrepreneurial self-efficacy, but experiential learning had a significant negative relationship with entrepreneurial self-efficacy; and (3) entrepreneurial self-efficacy partially mediated the relationship between experiential learning, social network learning, and entrepreneurial intention, and fully mediated the relationship between entrepreneurial education learning and entrepreneurial intention. These findings suggest that colleges and universities in China could broaden entrepreneurial learning and strengthen social network learning.

Abstract:This study explores the relationship among the internal locus of control, entrepreneurial alertness, entrepreneurial opportunity recognition, and entrepreneurial intentions of college students. The scales of internal locus of control, entrepreneurial alertness, entrepreneurial opportunity recognition, and entrepreneurial intention have been used to conduct a questionnaire survey among 921 undergraduates from four universities in China. The results show four key findings. First, the internal locus of control has a positive and significant impact on entrepreneurial intention. Second, entrepreneurial alertness plays a mediating role in the relationship between internal locus of control and entrepreneurial intention. Third, entrepreneurial opportunity recognition plays a mediating role in the relationship between the internal locus of control and entrepreneurial intention. Finally, entrepreneurial alertness and entrepreneurial opportunity recognition have a chain mediation effect on the relationship between the internal locus of control and entrepreneurial intention. The study proposes suggestions and future research directions based on the research results, serving as a reference for entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurship planning of college students.

Abstract:In implementing an innovation-driven development strategy, it is important to promote the sustainable development capacity of the new generation. Entrepreneurial learning can enhance college students’ skills and entrepreneurial competence in facing the uncertain challenges of the future. In order to clarify the mechanism by which entrepreneurial learning influences college students’ entrepreneurial intention, a mediating moderation model was constructed, based on the theory of planned behavior, to explore the mediating role of entrepreneurial attitude, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and perceived behavioral control. Furthermore, the moderating effect of important peers and teachers’ support on campus was combined, initially to assess the entrepreneurial intention of college students. This study adopted a quantitative research approach with a questionnaire survey, taking 704 college students in the Yangtze River Delta region as subjects. The research results showed that entrepreneurial learning has a significant positive predictive effect on the entrepreneurial intention of college students; entrepreneurial attitude and perceived behavioral control play a mediating role between the entrepreneurial learning and entrepreneurial intention of college students; and important peers and teachers’ support on campus can adjust the impact of entrepreneurial learning on entrepreneurial intention. The proposed framework provides a more concrete understanding of entrepreneurial intention. The results also provide policy and managerial insights into promoting entrepreneurial intention within higher education.

The Effect of Regulatory Focus and Performance Feedback on Entrepreneurial Intention: A Simulation Experiment Study

Abstract:Entrepreneurship has gained a lot of theoretical and practical attentions. Adopting the research method of simulation experiments, this study explored the dynamic process and mechanisms of entrepreneurial decision-making, specifically the effect of regulatory focus and past performance feedback on the entrepreneurial intention. Using a sample of 64 MBA and business management majored students, we conducted a laboratory-based simulation experiment study. Based on the experiment data, we mainly took repeated measures variance analysis to test our hypothesis. The results indicate that, (1) The level of entrepreneurial intention under promotion focus situations is higher than that under prevention focus situations. (2) With a positive past performance feedback, the entrepreneurial intention is higher than that of negative past performance feedback. (3) Contextual regulatory focus and previous performance feedback have an interactive effect on the level of entrepreneurial intention; under the negative performance feedback, the gap of entrepreneurial intention between the promotion regulatory focus and prevention one is much wider, while under the positive performance feedback, the gap is relatively narrower. That is to say, under the positive performance feedback, the prevention regulatory focus group has experienced a greater increase in their entrepreneurial intention. Finally, the implication of these results are discussed as well.

Abstract:This study aims to reveal how and when college students' perception of teachers' entrepreneurial leadership affects entrepreneurial intention, and to provide new ideas for improving college students' entrepreneurial intention. Utilizing a stratified cluster sampling approach in this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 769 college students enrolled in two institutions in Hainan Province, China. The research findings indicate a significant and positive influence of college students' perception of teachers' entrepreneurial leadership on entrepreneurial intention. Moreover, this perception affects entrepreneurial intention through both a single mediating effect and a serial mediating effect involving creative self-efficacy and creativity. The moderated serial mediation model shows that when college students perceive a higher school innovation climate, the serial mediation effect of creative self-efficacy and creativity on the correlation between their perception of teachers' entrepreneurial leadership and entrepreneurial intention is stronger. The results of this study have important reference value for further improving college students' entrepreneurial intention both theoretically and practically.

Abstract:Entrepreneurship is one of the important engines of economic development. Under the influence of policy encouragement and economic situation, college students have become the emerging entrepreneurial subjects. Studying the factors influencing their willingness to innovate is conducive to improving the entrepreneurial status and performance. From the perspective of planned behavior theory, this paper analyzes the effects of college students' entrepreneurship education and self-efficacy on their entrepreneurial intention. Using a sample of 327 college students in China, we test the hypotheses, and get some results. Firstly, college students' entrepreneurial education has a significant positive effect on their entrepreneurial intention, but has no obvious effect on the entrepreneurial attitude. Secondly, college students' entrepreneurial self-efficacy has a significant positive effect on the entrepreneurial attitude and entrepreneurial intention, and the entrepreneurial attitude plays a partial intermediary role in the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract:Entrepreneurship plays an active role in promoting economic and population integration and social mobility. To further promote economic and social development, the Chinese government and universities have launched entrepreneurship education courses and encouraged college students to participate in entrepreneurship competitions to enhance their entrepreneurial knowledge, entrepreneurial ability and entrepreneurial intention. However, the entrepreneurial intention of Chinese college students is still not high. Therefore, a question arises: How should entrepreneurial education be carried out? Can entrepreneurial competitions and entrepreneurial self-efficacy be an effective medium in augmenting entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intention? Is family income an effective moderator affecting college students’ entrepreneurial intention? To answer these questions, this study used quantitative methods to collect 351 sample data points, and a theoretical model was constructed to explain the mechanism forming entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intention. The results show that entrepreneurial self-efficacy plays a partial mediating role between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intention, entrepreneurial competition and entrepreneurial self-efficacy play a chain mediating role and family income positively moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial education and entrepreneurial intention. The contribution of this study is to reveal the black box of the formation mechanism in college students’ entrepreneurial intentions, affirms the role of the Chinese government in promoting entrepreneurial competitions and provides empirical evidence for the effective development of entrepreneurial practise activities, as well as theoretical references for entrepreneurial policy makers.

Abstract:Based on planned behavior theory (TPB), this study aims to explore the direct or indirect impacts of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial intentions through entrepreneurial self-efficacy and explore the moderating role of psychological capital. Sample data were collected by sending online electronic questionnaires to university students in some universities in Guangxi. A structural equation model was used to test the 757 valid sample data. The results showed that: (1) college students of different genders and those with or without family business experience have significant differences in terms of their entrepreneurial intentions; (2) entrepreneurship education has a significant positive impact on entrepreneurial intentions; (3) entrepreneurial self-efficacy plays a complete mediating role; and (4) higher psychological capital can positively regulate the impact of entrepreneurial self-efficacy on entrepreneurial intention. The findings help explain the need for entrepreneurship education. In order to increase students' participation in entrepreneurship education courses, different innovative technology-based curricula and educational methods can be used at higher educational levels. In addition, this study constructs a mediation and moderation model influencing entrepreneurial intention based on TPB, which further tests and enriches the research perspective of this theory from the perspective of positive psychology.

Abstract:Entrepreneurship education has a lot of research on influencing factors of entrepreneurial intention but rarely studies the influence mechanism of emotional competences on entrepreneurial intention from the perspective of social entrepreneurship. This article takes college students' social entrepreneurs as research objects, drawing on Krueger's model, theory of planned behavior, social cognitive theory, and triadic reciprocal determinism theory. This paper constructs a conceptual model with emotional ability, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention, to further study their relationship. The 312 students from China College Students' Social Entrepreneurship Project engaged in early entrepreneurship practice, conducted a questionnaire survey and used the empirical test of the structural equation model to analyze the relationship between college students' emotional competences, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention. The result show: First, social-emotional competence had a positive effect on entrepreneurial intention, and the positive effect of personal affective competence on entrepreneurial intention was not supported or only partially supported. Second, all the dimensions of entrepreneurial self-efficacy were significantly and positively correlated with entrepreneurial intention. Third, emotional competence has a significant positive impact on entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Fourth, entrepreneurial self-efficacy mediated the relationship between emotional competence and entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract:In recent years, innovation and entrepreneurship education is one of the hot spots of higher education research and practice in China. Innovation and entrepreneurship education can be taken as a new direction. Despite the commonly held view that entrepreneurship education drive the promotion of entrepreneurial intention, little is known about the mechanism through which this intervention impacts on entrepreneurial intention. Based on the assimilation learning theory of cognitive structure and the planned behavior theory, the purpose of this work is to analyze the relationship between innovation and entrepreneurship education (IEE) and entrepreneurial intention from the perspective of educational psychology, to explore the influence mechanism of IEE on entrepreneurial intention, and to promote the success of college students in entrepreneurship. In this study, questionnaires were conducted among college students of different colleges, majors, and grades in Anhui province, with the aid of multiple linear regression analysis and mediating effect model analysis. The results show that IEE has positive effect on entrepreneurial intention. In addition, entrepreneurial knowledge plays a mediating role in the relationship between IEE and entrepreneurial intention. And the mediating effect of innovation behavior and entrepreneurial attitude is not obvious. These results are expected to provide evidence for understanding the relationship between IEE and entrepreneurial intention under the background of Chinese education, to enrich and expand the theoretical basis of IEE, and to possess theoretical, empirical, and practical significance for the design and implementation of innovation and entrepreneurship education for college students.

Abstract:This study aims to explore effective ways to improve college students’ entrepreneurial self-efficacy and intentions through entrepreneurship education. The survey used a random sample of 804 college students in Zhejiang Province, China. The results show that: (1) In terms of the characteristics of entrepreneurial intention, there are significant differences in gender, entrepreneurial experience, entrepreneurial competition experience, and family background of self-employment. (2) There are significant differences in the characteristics of entrepreneurship education in gender, entrepreneurial competition experience, and the family background of self-employment. (3) In the relationship among entrepreneurship education, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention, entrepreneurship education is significantly and positively related to entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurial self-efficacy is significantly and positively associated with entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurial self-efficacy plays a complete mediating role between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurial self-efficacy also has a suppressing effect on the relationship between the two. (4) Entrepreneurial competition experience moderates the second half of the mediating effect of entrepreneurial self-efficacy. Finally, the study offers several proposals for the teaching practice of entrepreneurship education.

Abstract:Store‐operated Ca2+ channels, which are activated by the emptying of intracellular Ca2+ stores, provide one major route for Ca2+ influx. Under physiological conditions of weak intracellular Ca2+ buffering, the ubiquitous Ca2+ releasing messenger InsP3 usually fails to activate any store‐operated Ca2+ entry unless mitochondria are maintained in an energized state. Mitochondria rapidly take up Ca2+ that has been released by InsP3, enabling stores to empty sufficiently for store‐operated channels to activate. Here, we report a novel role for mitochondria in regulating store‐operated channels under physiological conditions. Mitochondrial depolarization suppresses store‐operated Ca2+ influx independently of how stores are depleted. This role for mitochondria is unrelated to their actions on promoting InsP3‐sensitive store depletion, can be distinguished from Ca2+‐dependent inactivation of the store‐operated channels and does not involve changes in intracellular ATP, oxidants, cytosolic acidification, nitric oxide or the permeability transition pore, but is suppressed when mitochondrial Ca2+ uptake is impaired. Our results suggest that mitochondria may have a more fundamental role in regulating store‐operated influx and raise the possibility of bidirectional Ca2+‐dependent crosstalk between mitochondria and store‐operated Ca2+ channels.
Do Entrepreneurship Competitions Raise the Entrepreneurial Intention of Engineering Students? the Mixed Effect of Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy and Entrepreneurial Motivation

Abstract:Educators and policymakers are increasingly interested in making entrepreneurship education accessible to engineering students, including through entrepreneurship competitions.The current study explored the role of entrepreneurship competitions on the entrepreneurial intention of engineering students.We hypothesized that entrepreneurial self-efficacy mediates the effect of entrepreneurship competition on entrepreneurial intention.In addition, we hypothesized that entrepreneurial motivation moderates the effect of entrepreneurship competition on entrepreneurial intention.Data were collected from 283 engineering students using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using structural equation modelling.The results revealed that entrepreneurship competition was positively associated with the intention to undertake entrepreneurial activity, which was also partially mediated by self-efficacy.The findings demonstrated a positive moderation effect of entrepreneurial motivation on the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention.This study provides empirical support for devising a variety of entrepreneurship competitions that can further support students to become entrepreneurial engineers.

Abstract:Entrepreneurship Education in Colleges and universities is a profound reform of China's higher education paradigm. Which is a necessary choice for Chinese universities to break through the traditional educational model. It is an important measure to cultivate college students' entrepreneurial consciousness, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial ability. On the whole, entrepreneurship education in China is still in the stage of exploration and rapid development. It is great practical significance and theoretical value to clarify the relationship between the entrepreneurship education quality and entrepreneurial intention. Based on this, this paper takes the social sciences, engineering and science students as the research object, and empirically explores the relationship among the entrepreneurship education quality, entrepreneurial orientation, entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. We find that: (1) the quality of entrepreneurship education will positively affect entrepreneurial intention, and entrepreneurial self-efficacy plays as an intermediary role; (2) the relationship between the quality of entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial self-efficacy will be affected by the adjustment of entrepreneurial orientation, the stronger the level of entrepreneurial orientation, the stronger the positive relationship between the entrepreneurship education quality and entrepreneurial self-efficacy; (3) the stronger the level of entrepreneurial orientation, the stronger the mediating effect between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial intenti.
