Abstract:Although conventional therapeutic approaches demonstrate significant success in treating primary tumors, their efficacy diminishes when addressing distant and metastatic tumors, calling for new technologies to transport and activate the therapeutic agents. Here, a core-shell UCNP@MOF (upconversion nanoparticle - metal organic framework) nanoagents is constructed for Type I and Type II photodynamic therapy under biocompatible near-infrared light irradiance (at 808 nm) and utilize their pore loading capacity to further realize synergistic immunotherapy in solid tumors. The Cu2+ to Cu+ reduction at the nodes in the MOFs shell is demonstrated to promote the generation of reactive oxygen species via depletion of overexpressed glutathione (GSH) compounds, while tumor microenvironment-enriched hydrogen peroxide is found to substantially augment the PDT effects. Importantly, the MOFs pore-loaded indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) inhibitor, along with s-nitroso-n-acetylpenicillamine (SNAP), upregulated tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes and induced prominent immunotherapeutic effects in vivo. This core-shell UCNP@MOF nanoagents have demonstrated effectiveness against both primary and distant tumors in xenografted tumor models, holding promise for treating solid tumors in metastasis. Abstract:Clinically approved photodynamic therapy (PDT) has emerged as an alternative treatment for cancers and malignant diseases; however, high quality PDT agents were still in great demand. Herein, the van der Waals (vdW) heterostructure of graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4, abbreviated as CN here) and metallic molybdenum disulfide (1T-MoS2, abbreviated as MS here) was fabricated, PEGylated, and then investigated. By making use of the extraordinary antenna effect and the ultrafast electron transfer rate of metallic molybdenum disulfide, as well as the efficient separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs of the final heterojunction, massive reactive oxygen species (ROS) can be generated under 670 nm laser irradiation together with the as-synthesized gC3N4@1T-MoS2 vdW nanostructure (CNMS), which should be largely owed to the appealing photocatalytic water splitting property of the CNMS structure. It was well proved by the in vitro studies that the intracellularly produced ROS can result in cell death, by the way of inducing cell apoptosis and/or necrosis through mediating phosphatidylserine ectropion, mitochondrial depolarization, and chromosomal DNA fragmentation, as well as up-regulating the expression of apoptosis-related proteins and unbalancing intracellular redox homeostasis. In vivo exploration also gave out satisfactory results that the tumor growth could be significantly inhibited by the photodynamic therapy. Additionally, outstanding biocompatibility and biosafety were also guaranteed. All these results provided compelling evidences for that the CNMS vdW heterostructure is an aussichtsreich nanophotosensitizer, and may provide some fresh ideas for the developing of nanomedicine for PDT application.

Abstract:A heterostructure of Hittorf's phosphorus (HP) nanorods decorated with polymeric carbon nitride is designed. This heterostructure exhibits an enhanced antitumor effect via the combination of photothermal therapy (PTT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) involving types I and II. This system can serve as a prospective imaging‐guided, real‐time, non‐invasive, safe, and synergistic dual‐mode therapeutic nanomedicine for efficient tumor nano‐therapy. Nanostructured heterojunctions offer a promising solution to overcome the limitations of narrow absorption spectra, limited penetration depths, and potential harm to healthy cells in phototherapy for clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) treatment with nanomaterials. In this study, a heterostructure (PCN@HP) by decorating Hittorf's phosphorus nanorods onto biocompatible polymeric carbon nitride (PCN), enabling excitation by NIR light is designed. Compared with PCN and HP alone, the synthesized heterostructure generated localized heat upon broad absorption spectra of irradiation, boosting charge migration and separation, generating cytotoxic reactive oxygen species (ROS). Then, via in vitro and in vivo experiments, it is confirmed that the NIR‐mediated PCN@HP heterojunction is a safe and effective approach for synchronous photothermal and photodynamic therapy treatment of ccRCC. Collectively, the PCN@HP heterojunction holds great potential as a non‐invasive synergistic, dual‐mode therapeutic nanomedicine for efficient tumor nano‐therapy.

Abstract:Photothermal conversion efficiency (PCE) plays a crucial role in tumor photothermal therapy (PTT). In this work, we developed a MoS 2 -based antitumor agent with enhanced photothermal conversion efficiency by size/morphology tailoring and IR820 loading for combinational photothermal/photodynamic therapy (PTT/PDT) of breast cancer. Among three MoS 2 -based nanomaterials, namely MoS 2 nanospheres (NSs), MoS 2 nanoflowers (NFs) and MoS 2 quantum dots (QDs), MoS 2 NSs possessed the highest PCE at 37.48%. In order to further improve the PCE, polyethyleneimine (PEI)-assisted photosensitizer IR820 decoration was carried out to prepare the MoS 2 @PEI@IR820 (MPI) nanocomposite. The introduced IR820 not only improves PCE of the MoS 2 nanomaterials to 47.08% by increasing the light absorption for enhancing PTT, but produces cytotoxic ROS for PDT, resulting in a combinational PTT/PDT with the multifunctional MPI. In addition, in vivo fluorescence (FL) bioimaging and infrared thermographic imaging have been achieved by the designed MPI nanoplatform, which has proven to be good biocompatibility, low toxicity and high PCE. This study provides a novel way for the design and construction of prominent theragnostic nanoagents for combinational PTT/PDT.

Abstract:The treatment of cancer has always been a worldwide problem. The combination of chemotherapy and other therapies would be a promising therapy strategy. Photothermal therapy (PTT) does not cause serious side effects and has dual control of time and space, which was considered to be a good method for combination with chemotherapy. Here, we modified multifunctional nanosheets based on in-situ gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) grown molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) to combine their excellent photothermal conversion and drug loading capabilities. More importantly, the target peptide cRGD modified nanosheets have good selectivity to tumor cells rich in integrin receptors, and drug loading and drug release tests showed that it could carry enough chemotherapeutic drugs and had excellent photo controlled release performance. In vitro cell experiments showed that the drug-loaded multifunctional nanosheets had good anti-tumor effect under 808 nm laser irradiation. Therefore, the multifunctional nanosheets designed in this paper have great potential in the study of targeted drug release and chemo-photothermal therapy combined therapy, and are of great significance for in vivo and clinical research.

Abstract:Developing an all-in-one multimodal theranostic platform that can synergistically integrate sensitive photoacoustic (PA) imaging, enhanced photothermal therapy (PTT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) as well as the nano-enzyme activated chemodynamic therapy (CDT) presents a great challenge for the current nanomedicine design. Herein, a simple hydrothermal method was used to prepare porous molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanoflowers. These nanoflowers were assembled by three dimensional (3D)-stacked MoS2 nanosheets with plentiful pores and large surfaces, which thus exhibited enhanced photothermal conversion via light trapping and peroxidase (POD)-like activity via active defects exposure. Consequently, this 3D-MoS2 nanostructure could be well-sealed by polyethylene glycol-polyethylenimine polymer modified with nucleolar translocation signal sequence of the LIM Kinase 2 protein (LNP) via strong electrostatic interaction, which not only benefited to stably deliver anticancer drug doxorubicin (DOX) into the tumor cells for pH/NIR-responsive chemotherapy, but also provided strong photoacoustic, photothermal performances and stimulated generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) for imaging-guided PTT/PDT/CDT combined therapy. This work promised a simple all-in-one multimodal theranostic platform to augment the potential antitumoral therapeutic outcomes.

Abstract:Two-dimensional (2D) MoS2 nanosheets have attracted increasing attention in recent years owing to their various fascinating properties, particularly excellent near-infrared (NIR) photothermal feature. In this study, we synthesized a novel NIR-light-triggered drug-delivery system by wrapping MoS2 nanosheets around doxorubicin (Dox)-loaded periodic mesoporous organosilicas (PMOs) and then decorating with polyethylene glycol (PEG) to form a PMO–Dox@MoS2–PEG nanoplatform for the first time. The obtained PMO–Dox@MoS2–PEG nanoplatforms had a uniform diameter (326 nm), high Dox loading capacity (160 μg mg−1 PMOs), excellent photothermal transformation ability, and good dispersibility in physiological conditions. Note that the Dox was almost completely blocked in the PMO–Dox@MoS2–PEG nanoplatforms, and the photothermal effect of the MoS2 nanosheets could efficiently trigger the release of Dox under an 808 nm laser irradiation. Simultaneously, the PMO–Dox@MoS2–PEG nanoplatforms realized a combined chemotherapy and photothermal therapy for liver cancer cells and breast cancer cells upon NIR laser irradiation. Compared with the single photothermal therapy or chemotherapy, the combined treatment had an improved synergistic therapeutic efficacy. We believe the NIR-light-triggered drug-delivery system with synergistic chemo-photothermal therapeutic property provides a promising strategy for cancer treatment.
Nanocarbon Framework-Supported Ultrafine Mo 2 C@MoO x Nanoclusters for Photothermal-Enhanced Tumor-Specific Tandem Catalysis Therapy

Abstract:Recent advances in the synthesis of multifunctional nanomaterials create new opportunities for the rational design of multimodal chemodynamic therapy (CDT) agents. Precisely tailoring the nanostructure and composition of CDT nanoagents for maximum efficacy remains a challenge. Herein, we report the successful synthesis of nanocarbon framework-supported ultrafine Mo2C@MoOx nanoclusters (C/Mo2C@MoOx) via a pyrolysis of a Mo/ZIF-8 MOF precursor at 900 °C followed by mild surface oxidation. The developed C/Mo2C@MoOx composite demonstrated outstanding performance in photothermal-enhanced tumor-specific tandem catalysis therapy. Specifically, C/Mo2C@MoOx efficiently catalyzed the conversion of endogenous H2O2 to cytotoxic 1O2 via a Russell mechanism, while also converting the O2 byproduct to cytotoxic ·O2- via an oxidase-like mechanism. A high dispersion of active Mo5+ sites in the exposed MoOx shell enhanced the reactive oxygen species (ROS)-generating efficiency of C/Mo2C@MoOx. Moreover, the Mo2C core in the ultrafine Mo2C@MoOx nanoclusters allowed NIR-II (1064 nm)-driven photothermal heating, which significantly boosted the CDT process through photothermal effects. Additionally, the CDT process relied on a redox cycle involving Mo5+/Mo6+ species, which could be sustained by glutathione (GSH) consumption. Given these advantages, C/Mo2C@MoOx demonstrated remarkable synergistic therapeutic efficacy for cancer treatment (both in vitro and in vivo) through tumor microenvironment-stimulated generation of multiple ROS and NIR-II photothermal activity.

Mitochondria-Targeting MoS 2 -Based Nanoagents for Enhanced NIR-II Photothermal-Chemodynamic Synergistic Oncotherapy

Abstract:The synergy of chemodynamic therapy (CDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) can improve anticancer efficacy, while the limited diffusion distance and the short lifetime of •OH still greatly restrict the therapeutic efficacy of PTT-CDT. Herein, MoS2@PDA-Fe@PEG/TPP (MPFPT) nanosheets (NSs) with mitochondria-targeting ability were reported for enhanced PTT-CDT synergistic oncotherapy. MPFPT NSs were prepared by covalent modification of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and triphenylphosphonium (TPP) on polydopamine (PDA)-Fe3+coated MoS2 NSs. Co-localization experiments showed that MPFPT NSs can efficiently target mitochondria via the direction of TPP. Moreover, MPFPT NSs have good photothermal performance in the second near-infrared (NIR-II) region and can greatly accelerate the Fenton reaction from H2O2 to generate more hydroxyl radicals (•OH). In vitro experimental results showed that MPFPT NSs have improved therapeutic efficacy to cancer cells than similar MoS2-based nanoagents without mitochondria-targeting units, which can be attributed to the short distance between mitochondria and MPFPT NSs and the efficient damage of mitochondria by in situ generated •OH. In the 4T1 tumor-bearing mice model, MPFPT NSs demonstrated significantly enhanced therapeutic efficacy by PTT-CDT, suggesting the superiority of the mitochondria-targeting strategy. This study reveals that mitochondria-targeting MPFPT NSs are promising nanoagents for oncotherapy.

A facile fabrication of silk/MoS2 hybrids for Photothermal therapy

Abstract:Photothermal therapy, due to its safety and effectiveness, has attracted tremendous interest in the area of cancer treatment in recent few decades. The emerging of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides has provided this promising therapy with a novel genus of nanomaterials. Herein, we present a facile one-step way to prepare a hybrid of regenerated silk fibroin (RSF) and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) nanosheets simply by directly adding MoS2 dispersion into RSF aqueous solution to induce the self-assembly of silk protein on the surface of MoS2 flakes. The produced RSF/MoS2 hybrids demonstrate better photothermal performance and less cytotoxicity than the pristine MoS2. In the meantime, the RSF/MoS2 hybrids show a good photothermal stability. Finally and importantly, the RSF/MoS2 hybrids display a satisfying photothermal capability on ablating HeLa cells in vitro, which imply that such a protein/inorganic hybrid material holds a great promise as a photothermal agent in future cancer treatment.

Abstract:The superior properties of metal organic frameworks (MOF) can provide great opportunities for merging functional nanoparticles to construct smart and versatile cancer theranostic agents. In this study, on the basis of non-mesoporous nanoparticles (molybdenum disulfide, MoS2), the structure of the MOF shell layer with an adjustable structure can be constructed through the natural coordination interaction between polydopamine (PDA) and iron ion, and the tumor cell target ligand was modified on the surface of the nanocomposite after loading the anticancer drug doxorubicin hydrochloride (DOX) to form a multifunctional cancer theranostics nanoplatform (DOX@MoS2-PMA). Benefiting from the excellent properties of MoS2 and MOF, the favorable photothermal properties and pH/near-infrared (NIR) laser-triggered DOX release behavior of composite nanoparticles were demonstrated. Its well-defined nanostructure, adequate colloidal stability, and satisfactory biocompatibility were further evidenced. Furthermore, the selective tumor cell targeting ability of DOX@MoS2-PMA can improve the cellular uptake efficacy and the photothermal-chemotherapy combination therapy can significantly enhance the killing effect on cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo. In addition, fluorescence imaging results show that nanoparticles can efficiently accumulate inside tumors. The photoacoustic (PA) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging capabilities derived from different components of nanoparticles can perform better imaging effects. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first attempt to merge the performance of MoS2 with MOF for PA/MR dual-modality imaging-guided photothermal-chemotherapy combination therapy. Our work presented herein proves that MOF can be combined with non-mesoporous nanoparticles and exhibits excellent performance, thus opening a new avenue for endowing non-mesoporous nanoparticles with an efficient drug loading capacity and practical applications of MOFs in nanomedicine.
Visible Light–Near-Infrared Photodetection on Cys-MoO3−x Nanoparticles for Photothermal Therapy against Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

Abstract:The excellent performance of semiconductor nanocrystals as sensitizers for photothermal therapy (PTT) has attracted the attention of many researchers; however, they are hindered by limited bandwidth and complex synthesis. To overcome these limitations, starting with an initial determination of photothermal conductivity, we synthesized and designed molybdenum and Cys-MoO3−x nanoparticles (NPs) for use in the minimally invasive treatment of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), as the NPs are coated only with cysteine molecules. The obtained Cys-MoO2 NPs were used as a PTT reaction drug for topical application to PTC cells. The use of near-infrared photoconductive PTT in combination with low-toxicity biological chemotherapy reached a 90% efficacy for cancer treatment in vitro. The conducted experiments intuitively demonstrate that non-toxic Cys-MoO2 NPs are lethal to the cancer cells under visual (VL, 405 nm) and near-infrared (NIR, 808 nm) laser irradiation and can be precisely controlled. Therefore, this study provides a powerful, safe, and easily modified NP platform for photo-triggered PTC elimination with broad application prospects. Assessment of the ideal damage range indicates a high degree of controllability, allowing the tumor to be precisely targeted while minimizing damage to the surrounding healthy tissue. In conclusion, this study provides a convenient, safe, and powerful NP platform for the near-infrared photo-controlled PTT of PTC cells, which has broad application prospects for the elimination of PTC and other types of cancer.

Abstract:Due to its excellent photothermal performance, MoS2 is more and more widely used in cancer treatment. In this study, a novel MoS2 composite nanosheets material with lamellar structure and good water solubility (BBPL-MoS2-LP) was synthesized, which had high photothermal conversion efficiency and good biocompatibility. The drug loading efficiency of doxorubicin (DOX) on the composite nanosheets reached 34.43%. Compared with the drug release rate of 15% at pH 7.0, the release degree of DOX was higher at a slightly acidic environment of pH 5.5, reaching 30%. Under the irradiation of near infrared laser (NIR), the drug release was significantly enhanced, indicating that the composite material can be used as a dual response system. The release of DOX would be controlled by pH and near infrared laser (NIR) irradiation. It was also found that BBPL-MoS2-LP could effectively penetrate cell membrane under the endocytosis mechanism mediated by biotin receptor and release drugs in HeLa cells. Cytotoxicity and apoptosis experiments showed that BBPL-MoS2-LP had better ability to kill HeLa cells than single drug or photothermal irradiation alone. The as-prepared multifunctional composite nanosheets in this study has great potential in effective drug delivery and photothermal chemotherapy for tumor treatment.

Abstract:Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is considered as one of the most effective cancer treatment strategies because of its minimally invasive and high efficiency. On account of the correlation between PDT and photocatalytic oxidation, the hollow MoSe2/Fe3O4 (MF-2) nanoheterostructure was constructed to enhance PDT as shown in this paper. The size and the hollow structure can be well controlled by the addition of F-127. MoSe2/Fe3O4 reveals the twofold reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation in contrast to the pure MoSe2, which is ascribed to the effective separation of photogenic charges. The novel hollow structure also supplies a lot of cavities for perfluorocarbon (PFC) and O2 loading, and O2@PFC@MF-2 can effectively overcome the hypoxic microenvironment to further cause more than 3 times ROS production. Moreover, the narrow band gap and hollow structure also make sure that the strong near-infrared (NIR) light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiency is as high as 66.2%. Furthermore, the combination of Fe3O4 can further accelerate the effective biodegradation capacity of MF-2 because of the repeated endogenous redox reaction to form water-soluble MoVI-oxide species. Meanwhile, doxorubicin (Dox, anticancer drug) was assembled onto the MF-2@PEG nanomaterials through π-π staking and electrostatic interaction for chemotherapy. O2@PFC@MF-2@PEG/Dox possesses the potential application in triple-model computed tomography, magnetic resonance, and infrared (CT/MR/IR) imaging-guided photothermal/photodynamic/chemotherapy (PTT/PDT/chemotherapy) nanodiagnosis platforms.
Molybdenum Diphosphide Nanorods with Laser‐Potentiated Peroxidase Catalytic/Mild‐Photothermal Therapy of Oral Cancer

Abstract:Chemodynamic therapy (CDT) is an emerging treatment that usually employs chemical agents to decompose hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into hydroxyl radical (•OH) via Fenton or Fenton-like reactions, inducing cell apoptosis or necrosis by damaging biomacromolecules such as, lipids, proteins, and DNA. Generally, CDT shows high tumor-specificity and minimal-invasiveness in patients, thus it has attracted extensive research interests. However, the catalytic reaction efficiency of CDT is largely limited by the relatively high pH at the tumor sites. Herein, a 808 nm laser-potentiated peroxidase catalytic/mild-photothermal therapy of molybdenum diphosphide nanorods (MoP2 NRs) is developed to improve CDT performance, and simultaneously achieve effective tumor eradication and anti-infection. In this system, MoP2 NRs exhibit a favorable cytocompatibility due to their inherent excellent elemental biocompatibility. Upon irradiation with an 808 nm laser, MoP2 NRs act as photosensitizers to efficiently capture the photo-excited band electrons and valance band holes, exhibiting enhanced peroxidase-like catalytic activity to sustainedly decompose tumor endogenous H2O2 to •OH, which subsequently destroy the cellular biomacromolecules both in tumor cells and bacteria. As demonstrated both in vitro and in vivo, this system exhibits a superior therapeutic efficiency with inappreciable toxicity. Hence, the work may provide a promising therapeutic technique for further clinical applications.

Abstract:Near-infrared light-induced catalysts are considered to be a potential nanoagent for tumor therapy. Cerium is considered to have good application potential in the field of tumor therapy because it is a non-biotoxic lanthanide element and has the characteristics of variable valence. In this work, we report a one-step hydrothermal synthesis for Ce-doped MoOx (CMO) nanomaterials. The obtained CMO nanomaterials show high absorption in the NIR II regime and high photothermal conversion efficiency of 67.7% (1064 nm). Moreover, due to the doping of Ce element, the consumption of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and glutathione (GSH) is boosted which enhance the chemodynamic and photodynamic therapy simultaneously. Under NIR II laser irradiation, the designed CMO nanocatalysts induce metabolism disruption and mitochondrial damage in the tumor cells. As-prepared CMO nanomaterials also show good biocompatibility and pH-responsive degradation behavior, which can be degraded rapidly under alkaline conditions (pH=7.4) and remain stable in acidic solution (pH=5.6). These properties enable the CMO nanomaterials to be an ideal biodegradable nanotheranostic agent for synergistic chemodynamic-photodynamic-photothermal antitumor therapy.

Abstract:A multifunctional nanoplatform for efficient tumor therapy is ingeniously fabricated based on the simple Cu2O/Cu2‐xS heterostructure. A multi‐mode synergistic cancer treatment integrating photothermal therapy (PTT), photocatalytic therapy (PCT), chemodynamic therapy (CDT) and ferroptosis can be achieved in this system and activated just by an exogenous near infrared (NIR) light irradiation. The fabrication of synergistic multifunctional anti‐tumor nanoplatforms is challenging due to the urgent requirement to activate different therapeutic modalities. Although the multi‐modal treatments can be achieved by carrying out the activation with different exogenous and endogenous stimulations in sequence, this tedious manner is not applicable to the ideal synergistic cancer treatment. Herein, a simple heterojunction of Cu2O/Cu2‐xS modified with gambogic acid and hyaluronic acid (CCS@GA@HA) is ingeniously fabricated for the synergistic cancer treatment combining photothermal therapy (PTT), photocatalytic therapy (PCT), chemodynamic therapy (CDT) and potential ferroptosis just activated by the single near infrared (NIR) light irradiation. Cu2O/Cu2‐xS heterostructure (CCS) with promoted separation and transfer efficiency of photogenerated charge carriers exhibits excellent photocatalytic performance. The intervention of gambogic acid (GA) downregulates the overexpression of heat shock protein 90 (HSP90), which make it possible to execute the mild PTT. And the CDT performance is efficiently improved by the heat generated from PTT. Specifically, CCS appears to accelerate the accumulation of lipid peroxides (LPO) and inactivate glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) that directly induce ferroptosis. In brief, CCS@GA@HA exhibits prominent NIR‐triggered synergistic effect involving PCT, mild PTT, enhanced CDT and ferroptosis for an effective multi‐modal tumor treatment.

Abstract:Hollow mesoporous copper sulfide nanoparticles (HMCuS NPs) are advantageous for loading small-molecule therapeutic drugs coupled with photothermal ablation for synergistic tumor therapy. However, treatment efficacy mediated by HMCuS NPs is not always satisfactory owing to their insensitivity toward the tumor microenvironment (TME), and unpredictable drug leakage may also result in deleterious systemic toxicity. Here, a novel HMCuS@MnO2-based core-shell nanoplatform was developed as a highly efficient TME modulator, which could alleviate tumor hypoxia, deplete the level of intracellular glutathione (GSH) and trigger the dissolution of Mn2+. Moreover, MnO2, in situ grown on the surface of HMCuS, may act as a gatekeeper by forming a stimulus-responsive plug within the mesoporous structure, which effectively prevented the premature release of encapsulated photosensitizer chlorin e6 (Ce6) and was responsive to the acidic TME for demand-based drug release. Under the condition of 660/808 nm dual-wavelength laser irradiation, hyperthermia-mediated photothermal therapy (PTT) and reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated photodynamic therapy (PDT) can be triggered for tumor eradication, which were further enhanced upon the modification of the TME. In the meantime, splendid photoacoustic (PA)/fluorescence (FL)/magnetic resonance (MR) imaging properties of HMCuS@MnO2/Ce6 (CMC) NPs could enable the realization of more precise, reliable and on-demand combination therapy. In a word, this study illustrated a promising approach to strengthen the efficacy of HMCuS-based nanotherapeutics, which would definitely promote the further exploitation of smarter nanoplatforms for synergistic disease management.
