Abstract:Transgenic maize plant expressing high phytase activity has been reported and approved by Chinese government in 2009. Here, we report a highly specific loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) method to detect the phytase gene in the GMO maize. The LAMP reaction takes less than 20min and the amplification is visible without gel electrophoresis. The detection sensitivity of the LAMP method is about 30 copies of phytase genomic DNA, which is 33.3 times greater than the conventional PCR method with gel electrophoresis. The quantitative detection results showed that the LAMP method has a good linear correlation between the DNA copy number and the associated Tt values over a large dynamic range of template concentration from 6×10(1) to 6×10(7) copies, with a quantification limit of 60 copies. Therefore, the LAMP method is visual, faster, and more sensitive, and does not need special equipment compared to traditional PCR technique, which is very useful for field tests and fast screening of GMO feeds.
BRIEF REPORT ON SRCEENING MAIZE MUTANTS WITH HIGH INORGANIC PHOSPORUS AND LOW PHYTIC ACID CONTENT

Abstract:Four and two mutants with high inorganic phosphorus(IP) and low phytic acid(LP) content were identified from'Huang C' and 'X178',the parents of the leading commercial hybrid maize cultivar'Nongda 108',when the dry seeds were irradiated by 200Gy Cobalt_60 gamma rays.The multation frequencies for 'Huang C' and 'X178' in panical basis were 8.04×10~(-4) and 10.48×10~(-4),respectively.Compared to the wild type,the contents of total phosphorus(TP) were basically unchanged,phytic acid phosphours(PAP) were detected with 79.09%,66.06%,47.58%,43.94%,70.00%,48.28% decreases,and IP with 11.22,9.91,7.04,6.43,6.43,4.33 times increases in six mutants,H_lpa1,H_lpa2,H_lpa3,H_lpa4,X_lpa1,X_lpa2,respectively.
Uptake of technetium-99 by food crops under field conditions

Abstract:Long-term field experiments have been carried out in the Chornobyl Exclusion zone to determine parameters describing technetium (99Tc) transfer into five food plants (Lettuce, Radish, Wheat, Bean, and Potato) from four types of soil, namely Podzoluvisol, Greyzem, Phaeozem, and Chernozem. Technetium was added to the soils under field conditions in a pertechnetate form. In the first two years, soil type had little effect on Tc uptake by plants. In the first and second years after contamination, the concentration ratios (CR), defined as 99Tc activity concentration in the crop (dry weight) divided by that in the soil (dry weight), for radish roots and lettuce leaves ranged from 60 to 210. For potato tubers, the CR was d 0.4-2.3, i.e., two orders of magnitude lower than for radish and lettuce, and for summer wheat grain it was lower at 0.6 ± 0.1. After 8-9 years, root uptake of 99Tc by wheat decreased by 3-7 fold (CR from 0.016 ± 0.005 to 0.12 ± 0.034) and only 13-22 % of the total 99Tc added remained in the upper 20 cm soil layers. The time taken for half of the added 99Tc to be removed from the 20-cm arable soil layer due to vertical migration and transfer to plants was short at c. 2-3 years.
Determination of technetium-99 in soils and radioactive wastes using ICP-MS

Abstract:Abstract Three methods have been used for the determination of 99Tc in soils and solid radioactive wastes using 99mTc as a yield monitor. In the method one and three the samples were leached in low concentrated nitric and sulphuric acid. Many contaminants were then co-precipitated with Fe(OH)3 in alkali media and Tc in the supernatant was separated using anion-exchange extraction chromatography. There were made also some studies how to improve the chemical recovery of 99mTc in the process of chromatography. In the method two the sample was ashed and then leached in 8 mol dm−3 HNO3 and after iron precipitation, technetium was separated on chromatographic column. The chemical recovery of 99mTc was optimized in the process of chromatography and leaching. Typical recoveries of technetium determined with 99mTc tracer for all these methods were in the range 39 %–87 %. The 99Tc activity was measured using proportional low-background beta detector after one week of staying to allow decay of 99mTc activity. 99Tc was also determined by the non-radiometric method using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer.

Abstract:Endogenous allergenicity evaluation is a required part of the risk assessment for genetically engineered (GE) crops. Although maize is not considered a major allergenic food, a lipid transfer protein (Zea m 14) in maize grain has been identified as a potential IgE-mediated food allergen. Currently, the relationship between allergen exposure and risk of sensitization is not well understood. Hence, reliable quantitative methods are useful for determining the natural range and variability of allergen levels across multiple geographies and genetic backgrounds. A LC-MS/MS analytical method was developed and validated in our laboratory to quantify Zea m 14 in grain from 2 GE maize hybrids and 20 non-GE maize hybrids. The measured Zea m 14 levels in GE maize grain and conventional non-GE maize grain ranged from 146.87 to 574.93 ng/mg across 16 field sites located in the United States and Argentina. The method accurately quantified endogenous Zea m 14 from maize grain and results show Zea m 14 levels in the GE maize varieties were within the natural variation observed in traditionally bred non-GE maize.

Abstract:Phosphorus (P) availability severely limits plant growth due to its immobility and inaccessibility in soils. Yet, visualization and measurements of P uptake from different root types or regions in soil are methodologically challenging. Here, we explored the potential of phosphor imaging combined with local injection of radioactive 33 P to quantitatively visualize P uptake and translocation along roots of maize grown in soils. Rhizoboxes (20 × 40 × 1 cm) were filled with sandy field soil or quartz sand, with one maize plant per box. Soil compartments were created using a gravel layer to restrict P transfer. After 2 weeks, a compartment with the tip region of a seminal root was labeled with a NaH 2 33 PO4 solution containing 12 MBq of 33 P. Phosphor imaging captured root P distribution at 45 min, 90 min, 135 min, 180 min, and 24 h post-labeling. After harvest, 33 P levels in roots and shoots were quantified. 33 P uptake exhibited a 50% increase in quartz sand compared to sandy soil, likely attributed to higher P adsorption to the sandy soil matrix than to quartz sand. Notably, only 60% of the absorbed 33 P was translocated to the shoot, with the remaining 40% directed to growing root tips of lateral or seminal roots. Phosphor imaging unveiled a continuous rise in 33 P signal in the labeled seminal root from immediate post-labeling until 24 h after labeling. The highest 33 P activities were concentrated just above the labeled compartment, diminishing in locations farther away. Emerging laterals from the labeled root served as strong sinks for 33 P, while a portion was also transported to other seminal roots. Our study quantitatively visualized 33 P uptake and translocation dynamics, facilitating future investigations into diverse root regions/types and varying plant growth conditions. This improves our understanding of the significance of different P sources for plant nutrition and potentially enhances models of plant P uptake.

Abstract:Thiol compounds such as cysteine (Cys), reduced (GSH) and oxidized (GSSG) gluathione, and phytochelatins (PCs) play an important role in heavy metal detoxification in plants. These thiols are biological active compounds whose function is elimination of oxidative stress in plant cells. The aim of our work was to optimise sensitive and rapid method of high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrochemical detector (HPLC-ED) for determination of the abovementioned thiol compounds in maize (Zea mays L.) kernels. New approach for evaluation of HPLC-ED parameters is described. The most suitable isocratic mobile phase for the separation and detection of Cys, GSH, GSSG and PC2 consisted of methanol (MeOH) and trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). In addition, the influence of concentrations of TFA and ratio of MeOH:TFA on chromatographic separation and detection of the thiol compounds were studied. The mobile phase consisting from methanol and 0.05% (v/v) TFA in ratio 97:3 (%; v/v) was found the most suitable for the thiol compounds determination. Optimal flow rate of the mobile phase was 0.18 ml min(-1) and the column and detector temperature 35 degrees C. Hydrodynamic voltammograms of all studied compounds was obtained due to the selection of the most effective working electrodes potentials. Two most effective detection potentials were selected: 780 mV for the GSSG and PC2 and 680 mV for determination of Cys and GSH. The optimised HPLC-ED method was capable to determine femtomole levels of studied compounds. The detection limits (3 S/N) of the studied thiol compounds were for cysteine 112.8 fmol, GSH 63.5 fmol, GSSG 112.2 fmol and PC2 2.53 pmol per injection (5 microl). The optimised HPLC-ED method was applied to study of the influence of different cadmium concentrations (0, 10 and 100 microM Cd) on content of Cys, GSH, GSSG and PC2 in maize kernels. According to the increasing time of Cd treatment, content of GSH, GSSG and PC2 in maize kernels increased but content of Cys decreased. Decreasing Cys concentration probably relates with the increasing GSH and phytochelatins synthesis.
Quantifying aluminum toxicity effects on corn phenotype using advanced imaging technologies

Abstract:Soil acidity (pH <5.5) limits agricultural production due to aluminum (Al) toxicity. The primary target of Al toxicity is the plant root. However, symptoms can be observed on the shoots. This study aims to determine the potential use of chlorophyll fluorescence imaging, multispectral imaging, and 3D multispectral scanning technology to quantify the effects of Al toxicity on corn. Corn seedlings were grown for 13 days in nutrient solutions (pH 4.0) with four Al treatments: 50, 100, 200, and 400 μM and a control (0 μM AlCl3 L-1). During the experiment, four measurements were performed: four (MT1), six (MT2), 11 (MT3), and 13 (MT4) days after the application of Al treatments. The most sensitive traits affected by Al toxicity were the reduction of plant growth and increased reflectance in the visible wavelength (affected at MT1). The reflectance of red wavelengths increased more significantly compared to near-infrared and green wavelengths, leading to a decrease in the normalized difference vegetation index and the Green Leaf Index. The most sensitive chlorophyll fluorescence traits, effective quantum yield of PSII, and photochemical quenching coefficient were affected after prolonged Al exposure (MT3). This study demonstrates the usability of selected phenotypic traits in remote sensing studies to map Al-toxic soils and in high-throughput phenotyping studies to screen Al-tolerant genotypes.

Abstract:With more than 30 million medical applications annually, 99m Tc is the most widely used radioisotope. Nevertheless, the discharge 99m Tc and its radioactive daughter nuclide and nuclear isomer 99 Tc through medical facilities into the aqueous environments is mostly unknown. This is related to a low absolute Tc mass used in medical examinations and consequently trace levels of Tc emitted from respective facilities. In this work, a new approach employing automated on-line extraction chromatography and anion-exchange chromatography was developed and coupled to inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry. The extraction column was filled with TK201 resin to preconcentrate, purify and elute pertechnetate ([ 99 Tc]TcO4-) as the most relevant Tc species. The eluting 99 Tc fraction was focused and separated on an anion-exchange chromatography column and directly calibrated into a mass flow using an on-line isotope dilution-like approach named isobaric dilution analysis. To accommodate ultra-trace levels in strong matrices with high grades of particulate contamination, the automated method was complemented by a newly developed manual filtration and preconcentration workflow with TK201 impregnated filter disks, reaching a combined preconcentration factor as high as 4615. An aerosol desolvation nebulization system was used additionally to boost sensitivity, achieving an ultimate limit of detection (LOD) as low as 0.70 ± 0.02 fg·kg‐1. As proof of concept, a wastewater sample from a retention basin of a local university hospital was collected, providing access to 99 Tc emitted through the medical pathway and [ 99 Tc]TcO4- levels as low as 89 ± 4 fg·kg‐1 were determined.

Abstract:Plants normally obtain the nitrogen required for growth through their roots, often after application of synthetic fertilizer to the soil, at great cost to the environment and climate. Inoculation of plant seeds with nitrogen-fixing bacteria is a promising alternative means of supplying plants the nitrogen they require in an environmentally friendly manner. When maize seeds inoculated with nitrogen-fixing are grown for two weeks in a N air environment, nanoscale secondary ion mass spectrometry (NanoSIMS) imaging shows the distribution of fixed nitrogen with subcellular resolution, with the majority being incorporated heterogeneously into chloroplasts. Chloroplasts, as the chief energy source that drives plant growth via photosynthesis, are vital for healthy plant growth and these results help explain the observations of enhanced growth rates in plants containing this nitrogen fixing bacteria. The methodology provides a template upon which more powerful, correlative studies combining genomic and/or spatial transcriptomic methods may be based.

Identification and Quantification of Technetium Species in Hanford Waste Tank AN-102

Abstract:Technetium-99 (Tc), a high yield fission product generated in nuclear reactors, is one of the most difficult contaminants to address at the U.S. Department of Energy Hanford, Savannah River, and other sites. In strongly alkaline solutions typifying Hanford tank waste, Tc exists as pertechnetate (TcO4-) (oxidation state VII) as well as in reduced forms (oxidation state < VII), collectively known as non-pertechnetate (non-TcO4-) species. Designing strategies for effective Tc management, including separation and immobilization, necessitates understanding the molecular structure of the non-TcO4- species and their identification in actual tank waste samples. Identification of non-TcO4- species would facilitate the development of new treatment technologies effective for dissimilar Tc species. Toward this objective, a spectroscopic library of the Tc(I) [fac-Tc(CO)3]+ and Tc(II, IV, V, VII) compounds was generated and applied to the characterization of the actual Hanford AN-102 tank waste supernatant, which was processed to adjust Na concentration to ∼5.6 M and remove 137Cs by spherical resorcinol-formaldehyde (sRF) ion-exchange resin. Post 137Cs removal, the cesium-loaded sRF column was eluted with 0.45 M HNO3. As-received AN-102, Cs-depleted effluent, and sRF eluate fractions were comprehensively characterized for chemical composition and speciation of Tc using 99Tc nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and X-ray absorption spectroscopy. It was demonstrated for the first time that non-TcO4- Tc present in the AN-102 tank waste is composed of several low-valent Tc species, including the Tc(I) [fac-Tc(CO)3]+ and Tc(IV) compounds. This is the first demonstration of multiple non-TcO4- species co-existing in the Hanford tank waste, highlighting their importance for the waste processing.

Abstract:Phosphorus deficiency can lead to serious reductions in crop yield and quality. Rapid and accurate determination of phosphorus stress status in vegetables is essential for ensuring the appropriate application of water and fertiliser, improving the yield and quality of vegetables, avoiding the waste of resources and serious non-point pollution source caused by the abuse of chemical fertilisers, and promoting green production and sustainability of facility agriculture. Chemical analysis and spectral or visual imaging methods for detection of phosphorus nutritional status are not conducive in facility production owing to their low accuracy and damage to plants. Owing to its penetration and fingerprint characteristics, terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) can distinguish differences in internal components caused by excess phosphorus nutrients and changes in nucleic acids, nuclear proteins, phospholipids, and other macromolecules; thus, it could potentially be used to evaluate the nutritional status of crops. In this study, an innovative THz-TDS-based method was used to detect the nutritional status of phosphorus in lettuce. Lettuce was grown with different phosphorus levels using soilless cultivation and different nutrient solutions. Based on the standard formula of Yamasaki nutrient solution, the phosphorus content in the nutrient solutions was reduced or increased by 20%, 60%, 100%, and 150%, and lettuce samples exposed to each of these phosphorus concentrations were collected. Terahertz spectra are highly sensitive to water; thus, the lettuce samples were freeze-dried to minimise the effect of water and maintain their original quality and bioactivity. The spectra of lettuce were recorded using a TS7400 THz-TDS system; noise and interference were eliminated via normalisation based on Savitzky-Golay smoothing. The correction and validation sets were divided using sample set partitioning based on the joint x-y distance (SPXY). The stability competitive adaptive reweighted algorithm, iterative retention information variable algorithm, and interval combination optimisation algorithm were used to select the terahertz characteristic wavelength, and the successive projection algorithm was then used for secondary optimisation. Finally, a THz-TDS model of lettuce phosphorus was established using the partial least squares method with five principal component variables. The coefficient of determination of the model reached 0.7005, and the root-mean-square error of the predictions was 0.003273, indicating that this method has a high prediction accuracy.

Abstract:The rationale of CEST is to transfer magnetization from low-concentration metabolites to highly concentrated water molecules using proton exchange, so that the saturation effects of metabolites can be effectively amplified and observed in water. The researchers used CEST to image metabolites in living plants, with a focus on saccharides and amino acids. They first applied CEST to visualize sugars and amino acids in the endosperm of pea seeds using chemical shift imaging (CSI) as a control. Unlike CSI, which measures the low-concentration metabolite signals, CEST measures the larger water signal and thus obtains larger metabolite signals. It also achieves higher image resolution in a much shorter time than CSI. During the mid-stage of pea seed development, the magnetic heterogeneity of the tissues prevented CSI from working, but CEST circumvented this issue and provided more reliable metabolic images. For the embryo cotyledon tissues, which showed homogenous magnetization, CEST and CSI both worked, but the former achieved fivefold higher resolution in a shorter time. So, CEST outperforms CSI in terms of sensitivity and lower susceptibility to magnetic field heterogeneity. More interestingly, CEST showed a clear capacity to monitor the dynamics of sugars and amino acids in growing barley grains attached to spikes, and was used to produce time-lapse videos. In addition, CEST imaging revealed an early aberration in the grains of the HvSWEET11b-mutant barley line, seen as disturbed allocation of sugars, which causes defective endosperm development and grain abortion in the mutant.

Abstract:The aim of this research was to study the influence of chlorsulfuron residue and cadmium on the enzymatic activity and photosynthetic apparatus of maize (Zea mays L.) plants. Chlorsulfuron and cadmium at 0.001 and 5.0 mg kg−1, respectively, were mixed and applied to soil prior to planting. The levels of chlorsulfuron- and cadmium-induced stress to plants were estimated by growth, chlorophyll content, lipid peroxide content, enzyme activities, and major fluorescence parameters of chlorophyll (revealed by the fluorescence imaging system FluorCam). Chlorsulfuron negatively affected the chlorophyll content, photochemical efficiency of photosystem II in the dark-adapted state, the maximum efficiency of photosystem II, photochemical quenching coefficient, and steady-state fluorescence decline ratio in the leaves of maize seedlings. However, cadmium did not produce noticeable changes. Plants that were exposed to both chlorsulfuron and cadmium showed an obvious increase in the steady-state fluorescence decline ratio. These results implied that the seedlings possessed more resistance to cadmium than to chlorsulfuron and their resistance to chlorsulfuron toxicity was enhanced by the presence of cadmium. The results also suggested that chlorophyll fluorescence imaging reveals overall alterations within the leaves but may not reflect small-scale effects on tissues, as numeric values of specific parameters are averages of the data collected from the whole leaf.

Abstract:In this research, we aimed to evaluate DNA damage levels, DNA methylation, protein and phytohormone levels changes in corn (Zea mays L.) seedlings exposed to chromium nitrate (Cr). The results showed that the used all chromium doses caused a decreasing mitotic index, genomic template stability and soluble protein levels and increasing in RAPDs profile changes (DNA damage) and DNA hypermethylation. In additional, in the high-pressure liquid chromatography analyses, it was also observed that Cr contamination caused a decreasing in the growth-promoting hormones including gibberellic acid (GA), zeatin (ZA) and indole acetic acid (IAA) levels, in contrast to abscisic acid (ABA) level. The results of this experiment have clearly shown that Cr has epigenetic effect as well as genotoxic effect. Some of phytohormones decreasing (GA, ZA and IAA) and especially increasing of ABA levels under Cr stress may be a part of the defense system against the stress.

Abstract:Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a versatile technique in the biomedical field, but its application to the study of plant metabolism in vivo remains challenging because of magnetic susceptibility problems. In this study, we report the establishment of chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) for plant MRI. This method enables noninvasive access to the metabolism of sugars and amino acids in complex sink organs (seeds, fruits, taproots, and tubers) of major crops (maize, barley, pea, potato, sugar beet, and sugarcane). Because of its high signal detection sensitivity and low susceptibility to magnetic field inhomogeneities, CEST analyzes heterogeneous botanical samples inaccessible to conventional magnetic resonance spectroscopy. The approach provides unprecedented insight into the dynamics and distribution of sugars and amino acids in intact, living plant tissue. The method is validated by chemical shift imaging, infrared microscopy, chromatography, and mass spectrometry. CEST is a versatile and promising tool for studying plant metabolism in vivo, with many applications in plant science and crop improvement.

Abstract:Nutrients are essential for the growth of plants and they also increase the yield. Among the major nutrients, nitrogen is the most important nutrient for crop growth. The current study aims to estimate chlorophyll content vis-a-vis nitrogen content using different techniques and attempts to establish comparative benefits among available techniques. Maize crop being highly known for fertilizer responsiveness was chosen to carry out experiments with different levels of nitrogenous fertilizers. A preliminary field survey was taken in the farmer's field in Coimbatore and Salem districts. Two field experiments and one pot culture experiment at different doses of nitrogen input were conducted in 2019, 2020, and 2021 in the Department of Nano science and Technology at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. In this study conventional nitrogen was applied with various dosage viz.,0 kgha-1(T1), 50 kgha-1 (T2), 100 kgha-1 (T3), 150 kgha-1 (T4), 200 kgha-1 (T5), 250 kgha-1 (T6), 300 kgha-1 (T7). In the pot culture experiment, IFFCO Nano nitrogen was sprayed on the maize leaves with seven different doses which were control (no spray) (T1), conventional nitrogen (T2), 0.5X RDF(Recommended Dose of Fertilizer) (T3), 1.0X RDF (T4), 1.5X RDF (T5), 2.0X RDF (T6), 2.5X RDF (T7). The chlorophyll content in all the trials were estimated using Dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO), a portable in-house developed nutrient meter, and Spectroradio meter method. Chlorophyll content was measured at two different growth stages of maize viz., 60 & 90 days after sowing. The total nitrogen was analysed using Kjeldahl method in the maize leaf. Among the treatments, with different doses of nitrogen levels, 300 kgha-1 RDN & 2.5X RDF (T7) recorded higher SPAD (Soil Plant Analysis Development) values, chlorophyll “a” and chlorophyll “b” content and total nitrogen content at 60 DAS (Days After Sowing) in all tested methods. Chlorophyll and total nitrogen content were significantly decreased in later days. In a stressed environment with no nitrogen (T1) applied condition the chlorophyll and nitrogen content showed significantly lower levels
Transgenic maize event TC1507: Global status of food, feed, and environmental safety

Abstract:Maize (Zea mays) is a widely cultivated cereal that has been safely consumed by humans and animals for centuries. Transgenic or genetically engineered insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant maize, are commercially grown on a broad scale. Event TC1507 (OECD unique identifier: DAS-Ø15Ø7-1) or the Herculex®(#) I trait, an insect-resistant and herbicide-tolerant maize expressing Cry1F and PAT proteins, has been registered for commercial cultivation in the US since 2001. A science-based safety assessment was conducted on TC1507 prior to commercialization. The safety assessment addressed allergenicity; acute oral toxicity; subchronic toxicity; substantial equivalence with conventional comparators, as well as environmental impact. Results from biochemical, physicochemical, and in silico investigations supported the conclusion that Cry1F and PAT proteins are unlikely to be either allergenic or toxic to humans. Also, findings from toxicological and animal feeding studies supported that maize with TC1507 is as safe and nutritious as conventional maize. Maize with TC1507 is not expected to behave differently than conventional maize in terms of its potential for invasiveness, gene flow to wild and weedy relatives, or impact on non-target organisms. These safety conclusions regarding TC1507 were acknowledged by over 20 regulatory agencies including United States Environment Protection Agency (US EPA), US Department of Agriculture (USDA), Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), and European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) before authorizing cultivation and/or food and feed uses. A comprehensive review of the safety studies on TC1507, as well as some benefits, are presented here to serve as a reference for regulatory agencies and decision makers in other countries where authorization of TC1507 is or will be pursued.

Abstract:In this study, the available phosphorus (AP) and TCF concentrations in soils and maize (Zea mays) seedling tissues were measured in response to escalating TCF concentrations during 216 hr of culture. Maize seedlings growth considerably enhanced soil TCF degradation, reaching the highest of 73.2% and 87.4% at 216 hr in 50 and 200 mg/kg TCF treatments, respectively, and increased AP contents in all the seedling tissues. Soil TCF was majorly accumulated in seedling roots, reaching maximum concentration of 0.017 and 0.076 mg/kg in TCF-50 and TCF-200, respectively. The hydrophilicity of TCF might hinder its translocation to the aboveground shoot and leaf. Using bacterial 16 S rRNA gene sequencing, we found that TCF addition drastically lessened bacterial community interactions and hindered the complexity of their biotic networks in rhizosphere than in bulk soils, leading to the homogeneity of bacterial communities that were resistant or prone to TCF biodegradation. Mantel test and redundancy analysis suggested a significant enrichment of dominant species Massilia belonging to Proteobacteria phyla, which in turn affecting TCF translocation and accumulation in maize seedling tissues. This study provided new insight into the biogeochemical fate of TCF in maize seedling and the responsible rhizobacterial community in soil TCF absorption and translocation.
