Abstract:Cardiovascular diseases as a primary driver of global morbidity and mortality. Despite the array of therapeutic avenues in clinical practice, predominantly pharmaceutical and surgical interventions, they often fall short of fully addressing the clinical exigencies of cardiovascular patients. In recent years, nanocarriers have shown great potential in the treatment and diagnose of cardiovascular diseases. They can enhance drug targeting and bioavailability while reducing side effects. Additionally, by improving imaging and detection technologies, they enhance early diagnosis and disease monitoring capabilities. These advancements in technology offer new solutions for precision medicine in cardiovascular diseases, advancing treatment efficacy and disease management. Crafted from biomaterials, metals, or their amalgamations, these nanocarriers approximate the dimensions of biologically active molecules like proteins and DNA. Cardiovascular nanomedicine, in its infancy, has only recently burgeoned. Yet, with continual refinement in nanocarrier architecture, drug delivery mechanisms, and therapeutic outcomes, the potential of nanomedical technologies in clinical contexts becomes increasingly evident. This review aims to consolidate the strides made in nanocarrier research concerning the treatment and diagnose of cardiovascular diseases.

They are a leading cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide.Nanotechnology integrated substantialinnovations in cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic at the nanoscale. This in-depth analysis explores cutting-edge methods for diagnosing CVDs, including nanotechnological interventions and crucial components for identifying risk factors, developing treatment plans, and monitoring patients' progress with chronic CVDs.Intensive research has gone into making nano-carriers that can image and treat patients. To improve the efficiency of treating CVDs, the presentreview sheds light on a decision-tree-based solution by investigating recent and innovative approaches in CVD diagnosis by utilizing nanoparticles (NPs). Treatment choices for chronic diseases like CVD, whose etiology might take decades to manifest, are very condition-specific and disease-stage-based. Moreover, thisreview alsobenchmarks the changing landscape of employing NPs for targeted and better drug administration while examining the limitations of various NPs in CVD diagnosis, including cost, space, time, and complexity. To better understand and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, the conversation moves on to the nano-cardiovascular possibilities for medical research.We also focus on recent developments in nanoparticle applications, the ways they might be helpful, and the medical fields where they may find future use. Gold nanoparticles, quantum dots, polymeric nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes, and lipids are innovative nanomaterials promising in tackling CVDs. In the setting of CVDs, these nanomaterials actively impact cellular responses due to their distinctive properties, including surface energy and topographies. Opportunities to more precisely target CVDs have arisen due to recent developments in nanomaterial science, which have introduced fresh approaches. An in-depth familiarity with the illness and its targeted mechanisms is necessary to use nanomaterials in CVDs effectively. We support the academic community's efforts to prioritize Nano-technological techniques in addressing risk factors linked with cardiovascular diseases, acknowledging the far-reaching effects of these conditions. The significant impact of nanotechnology on the early detection and treatment of cardiovascular diseases highlights the critical need for novel approaches to this pressing health problem, which is affecting people worldwide.

Abstract:Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) present a significant threat to health, with traditional therapeutics based treatment being hindered by inefficiencies, limited biological effects, and resistance to conventional drug. Addressing these challenges requires advanced approaches for early disease diagnosis and therapy. Nanotechnology and nanomedicine have emerged as promising avenues for personalized CVD diagnosis and treatment through theranostic agents. Nanoparticles serve as nanodevices or nanocarriers, efficiently transporting drugs to injury sites. These nanocarriers offer the potential for precise drug and gene delivery, overcoming issues like bioavailability and solubility. By attaching specific target molecules to nanoparticle surfaces, controlled drug release to targeted areas becomes feasible. In the field of cardiology, nanoplatforms have gained popularity due to their attributes, such as passive or active targeting of cardiac tissues, enhanced sensitivity and specificity, and easy penetration into heart and artery tissues due to their small size. However, concerns persist about the immunogenicity and cytotoxicity of nanomaterials, necessitating careful consideration. Nanoparticles also hold promise for CVD diagnosis and imaging, enabling straightforward diagnostic procedures and real-time tracking during therapy. Nanotechnology has revolutionized cardiovascular imaging, yielding multimodal and multifunctional vehicles that outperform traditional methods. The paper provides an overview of nanomaterial delivery routes, targeting techniques, and recent advances in treating, diagnosing, and engineering tissues for CVDs. Abstract:Since its establishment in 1998, NATAL, “The Israel Trauma Center for Victims of Terror and War,” has been propagating the notion of national trauma as a comprehensive category of suffering related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Against the shifting perceptions of PTSD in Israel, we explore recent undertakings of NATAL's experts to naturalize trauma among “pre-clinical” populations of Israeli Defense Force (IDF) veterans. The experts’ attempts to de-politicize the suffering of the veterans are constrained by the fact that in their clinical ideology, the apolitical language of the therapeutic is aligned with a somber national pathos that strikes a collective cord of common Jewish fate and identity. This alignment may account for the Israeli public's acceptance of NATAL's agenda, despite its subversive connotations.

Abstract:Abstract: Regenerative medicine refers to medical research focusing on repairing, replacing, or regenerating damaged or diseased tissues or organs. Cardiovascular disease (CVDs) is a significant health issue globally and is the leading cause of death in many countries. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one person dies every 34 seconds in the United States from cardiovascular diseases, and according to a World Health Organization (WHO) report, cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death globally, taking an estimated 17.9 million lives each year. Many conventional treatments are available using different drugs for cardiovascular diseases, but these treatments are inadequate. Stem cells and nanotechnology are promising research areas for regenerative medicine treating CVDs. Regenerative medicines are a revolutionary strategy for advancing and successfully treating various diseases, intending to control cardiovascular disorders. This review is a comprehensive study of different treatment methods for cardiovascular diseases using different types of biomaterials as regenerative medicines, the importance of different stem cells in therapeutics, the expanded role of nanotechnology in treatment, the administration of several types of stem cells, their tracking, imaging, and the final observation of clinical trials on many different levels as well as it aims to keep readers up to pace on emerging therapeutic applications of some specific organs and disorders that may improve from regenerative medicine shortly.

Abstract:Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Although a cadre of therapeutic strategies have been made available for CVDs in the clinical setting, predominantly through medication and surgery, these do not fully address the clinical needs of patients with CVD. As a new technique for CVD treatment, nanocarriers are employed to modify and package medications to ease the targeting of tissues, cells and molecules within the cardiovascular system. Nanocarriers are made of biomaterials, metals, or a combination of these materials, with sizes similar to bioactive molecules such as proteins and DNA. Cardiovascular nanomedicine (CVN) has only surfaced in recent years and is still in its infancy. Ample studies have displayed promise for the clinical utility of nanomedicine techniques, courtesy of continued perfection in nanocarrier design to optimize drug delivery and treatment outcomes. Here in this review, we will summarize the research advances in the literature on nanoparticles in the management of CVDs, including ischemic and coronary heart disease (e.g., atherosclerosis, angina pectoris and myocardial infarction), myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, aortic aneurysm, myocarditis, hypertension, and pulmonary artery hypertension and thrombosis.

Abstract:Cardiovascular disease (CVD) represents a significant global health challenge, remaining the leading cause of illness and mortality worldwide. The adult heart's limited regenerative capacity poses a major obstacle in repairing extensive damage caused by conditions like myocardial infarction. In response to these challenges, nanomedicine has emerged as a promising field aimed at improving treatment outcomes through innovative drug delivery strategies. Nanocarriers, such as nanoparticles (NPs), offer a revolutionary approach by facilitating targeted delivery of therapeutic agents directly to the heart. This precise delivery system holds immense potential for treating various cardiac conditions by addressing underlying mechanisms such as inflammation, oxidative stress, cell death, extracellular matrix remodeling, prosurvival signaling, and angiogenic pathways associated with ischemia-reperfusion injury. In this review, we provide a concise summary of the fundamental mechanisms involved in cardiac remodeling and regeneration. We explore how nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems can effectively target the afore-mentioned mechanisms. Furthermore, we discuss clinical trials that have utilized nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems specifically designed for cardiac applications. Abstract:The rapid progress of nanoscience and the application of nanotechnology are changing the foundations of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. As the core of nanotechnology, nano- and microparticles offer "three-in-one" functions as imaging agents, target probes, and therapeutic carriers. While nano- and microparticle-based imaging of cardiovascular interventions is still in its developing phase, it has already presented the exciting potential to monitor primary interventional procedures for precise therapeutic delivery, enhance the effectiveness of delivered therapeutics, and monitor therapeutic efficiency after interventions performed to treat cardiovascular diseases. Abstract:Disorders of the cardiovascular system are identified as the primary cause of fatal conditions, such as atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and stroke. It is mainly the damage of the arterial vascular system that leads to the development of many of these fatal diseases. Abnormalities in the arterial system directly affects blood circulation and ultimately results in irreversible peripheral organ or tissue damage. This review describes the challenges and opportunities in systemic and local drug delivery to the arterial tissue. Based on the unique anatomical and physiological constraints, advances in systemic (e.g., targeted nanotechnology-based formulations) and local (e.g., drug-eluting stent implantation) delivery technologies have provided insights into arterial therapeutic approaches, especially in coronary restenosis. Significant opportunities exist in further development of multifunctional nanosystems that can be incorporated with localized delivery strategies, such as double-balloon catheters, to improve drug residence and intracellular availability.

Abstract:Globally, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) constitute the leading cause of death at the moment. More effective treatments to combat CVDs are urgently required. Recent advances in nanotechnology have opened the door to new avenues for cardiovascular health treatment. Silver nanotechnology's inherent therapeutic powers and wide-ranging applications have made it the center of focus in recent years. This review aims to analyze the chemical, physical, and biological processes ofproducing AgNPs and determine their potential utility as theranostics. Despite significant advances, the precise mechanism by which AgNPs function in numerous biological systems remains a mystery. We hope that at the end of this review, you will better understand how AgNPs affect the cardiovascular system from the research done thus far. This endeavor thoroughly investigates the possible toxicological effects and risks associated with exposure to AgNPs. The findings shed light on novel applications of these versatile nanomaterials and point the way toward future research directions. Due to a shortage of relevant research, we will limit our attention to AgNPs as they pertain to CVDs. Future research can use this opportunity to investigate the many medical uses of AgNPs. Given their global prevalence, we fully endorse academics' efforts to prioritize nanotechnological techniques in pursuing risk factor targeting for cardiovascular diseases. The critical need for innovative solutions to this widespread health problem is underscored by the fact that this technique may help with the early diagnosis and treatment of CVDs.

Abstract:Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of death in China, with increasingly serious negative effects on people and society. Despite significant advances in preventing and treating cardiovascular diseases, such as atrial fibrillation/flutter and heart failure over the last few years, much more remains to be done. Therefore, developing innovative methods for identifying and managing cardiovascular disorders is critical. Nanomaterials provide multiple benefits in biomedicine, primarily better catalytic activity, drug loading, targeting, and imaging. Biomimetic materials and nanoparticles are specially combined to synthesize biomimetic nanoparticles that successfully reduce the nanoparticles' toxicity and immunogenicity while enhancing histocompatibility. Additionally, the biological targeting capability of nanoparticles facilitates the diagnosis and therapy of cardiovascular disease. Nowadays, nanomedicine still faces numerous challenges, which necessitates creating nanoparticles that are highly selective, toxic-free, and better clinically applicable. This study reviews the scientific accomplishments in this field over the past few years covering the classification, applications, and prospects of noble metal biomimetic nanozymes and biomimetic nanocarriers.

Abstract:Nanoparticles promise to advance strategies to treat vascular disease. Since being harnessed by the cancer field to deliver safer and more effective chemotherapeutics, nanoparticles have been translated into applications for cardiovascular disease. Systemic exposure and drug-drug interactions remain a concern for nearly all cardiovascular therapies, including statins, antithrombotic, and thrombolytic agents. Moreover, off-target effects and poor bioavailability have limited the development of completely new approaches to treat vascular disease. Through the rational design of nanoparticles, nano-based delivery systems enable more efficient delivery of a drug to its therapeutic target or even directly to the diseased site, overcoming biological barriers and enhancing a drug’s therapeutic index. In addition, advances in molecular imaging have led to the development of theranostic nanoparticles that may simultaneously act as carriers of both therapeutic and imaging payloads. The following is a summary of nanoparticle therapy for atherosclerosis, thrombosis, and restenosis and an overview of recent major advances in the targeted treatment of vascular disease.

Abstract:Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have become a serious threat to human life and health. Though many drugs acting via different mechanism of action are available in the market as conventional formulations for the treatment of CVDs, they are still far from satisfactory due to poor water solubility, low biological efficacy, non-targeting, and drug resistance. Nano-drug delivery systems (NDDSs) provide a new drug delivery method for the treatment of CVDs with the development of nanotechnology, demonstrating great advantages in solving the above problems. Nevertheless, there are some problems about NDDSs need to be addressed, such as cytotoxicity. In this review, the types and targeting strategies of NDDSs were summarized, and the new research progress in the diagnosis and therapy of CVDs in recent years was reviewed. Future prospective for nano-carriers in drug delivery for CVDs includes gene therapy, in order to provide more ideas for the improvement of cardiovascular drugs. In addition, its safety was also discussed in the review.

Abstract:Atherosclerosis is a systemic pathophysiological condition contributing to the development of majority of polyvascular diseases. Nanomedicine is a novel and rapidly developing science. Due to their small size, nanoparticles are freely transported in vasculature, and have been widely employed as tools in analytical imaging techniques. Furthermore, the application of nanoparticles also allows target intervention, such as drug delivery and tissue engineering regenerative methods, in the management of major vascular diseases. Therefore, by summarizing the physical and chemical characteristics of common nanoparticles used in diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases, we discuss the details of these applications from cellular, molecular, and in vivo perspectives in this review. Abstract:Coronary heart disease (CHD) is one of the major causes of death and disability worldwide, especially in low- and middle-income countries and among older populations. Conventional diagnostic and therapeutic approaches have limitations such as low sensitivity, high cost and side effects. Nanotechnology offers promising alternative strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of CHD by exploiting the unique properties of nanomaterials. In this review, we use bibliometric analysis to identify research hotspots in the application of nanotechnology in CHD and provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art. Nanomaterials with enhanced imaging and biosensing capabilities can improve the early detection of CHD through advanced contrast agents and high-resolution imaging techniques. Moreover, nanomaterials can facilitate targeted drug delivery, tissue engineering and modulation of inflammation and oxidative stress, thus addressing multiple aspects of CHD pathophysiology. We discuss the application of nanotechnology in CHD diagnosis (imaging and sensors) and treatment (regulation of macrophages, cardiac repair, anti-oxidative stress), and provide insights into future research directions and clinical translation. This review serves as a valuable resource for researchers and clinicians seeking to harness the potential of nanotechnology in the management of CHD. Abstract:The rapid advances in nanotechnology have paved way toward a sustainable path by providing innovative solutions with the issues related to ecosystem as well as human health. In terms of human healthcare and therapy, nanoparticles are expected to contribute to drug delivery and regenerative medicine with its ability to target the source of disease with increased efficiency and minimal side effects. Thus by miniaturizing the drug delivery systems, treatment of several diseases can be made possible. Nanomedicine offers several advantages, such as protection of the payload from degradation in both in vitro and in vivo milieu, facilitation of controlled release of entrapped drugs, prolonged therapeutic effect, and enhancement of targeted delivery along with diminished side effects. Nanotechnology has proved to address some of the problems related to diagnostics, therapeutics, and biomedical aspects. Accordingly, this chapter mainly emphasizes on the evolution of nanoparticles to meet the challenges relevant to healthcare system.
Nanomaterials as Promising Theranostic Tools in Nanomedicine and Their Applications in Clinical Disease Diagnosis and Treatment

Abstract:In recent decades, with the rapid development of nanotechnology, nanomaterials have been widely used in the medical field, showing great potential due to their unique physical and chemical properties including minimal size and functionalized surface characteristics. Nanomaterials such as metal nanoparticles and polymeric nanoparticles have been extensively studied in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases that seriously threaten human life and health, and are regarded to significantly improve the disadvantages of traditional diagnosis and treatment platforms, such as poor effectiveness, low sensitivity, weak security and low economy. In this review, we report and discuss the development and application of nanomaterials in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases based mainly on published research in the last five years. We first briefly introduce the improvement of several nanomaterials in imaging diagnosis and genomic sequencing. We then focus on the application of nanomaterials in the treatment of diseases, and select three diseases that people are most concerned about and that do the most harm: tumor, COVID-19 and cardiovascular diseases. First, we introduce the characteristics of nanoparticles according to the excellent effect of nanoparticles as delivery carriers of anti-tumor drugs. We then review the application of various nanoparticles in tumor therapy according to the classification of nanoparticles, and emphasize the importance of functionalization of nanomaterials. Second, COVID-19 has been the hottest issue in the health field in the past two years, and nanomaterials have also appeared in the relevant treatment. We enumerate the application of nanomaterials in various stages of viral pathogenesis according to the molecular mechanism of the complete pathway of viral infection, pathogenesis and transmission, and predict the application prospect of nanomaterials in the treatment of COVID-19. Third, aiming at the most important causes of human death, we focus on atherosclerosis, aneurysms and myocardial infarction, three of the most common and most harmful cardiovascular diseases, and prove that nanomaterials could be involved in a variety of therapeutic approaches and significantly improve the therapeutic effect in cardiovascular diseases. Therefore, we believe nanotechnology will become more widely involved in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in the future, potentially helping to overcome bottlenecks under existing medical methods.
