Abstract:2D MXene-Ti 3 C 2 T χ has demonstrated promising application prospects in various fields; however, it fails to function properly in biosensor setups due to restacking and anodic oxidation problems. To expand beyond these existing limitations, an effective strategy to for modifying the MXene by covalently grafting first-generation poly(amidoamine) dendrimers onto an MXene in situ (MXene@PAMAM) was reported herein. When used as a conjugated template, the MXene not only preserved the high conductivity but also conferred a specific 2D architecture and large specific surface areas for anchoring PAMAM. The PAMAM, an efficient spacer and stabilizer, simultaneously suppressed the substantial restacking and oxidation of the MXene, which endowed this hybrid with improved electrochemical performance compared to that of the bare MXene in terms of favorable conductivity and stability under anodic potential. Moreover, the massive amino terminals of PAMAM offer abundant active sites for adsorbing Au nanoparticles (AuNPs). The resulting 3D hierarchical nanoarchitecture, AuNPs/MXene@PAMAM, had advanced structural merits that led to its superior electrochemical performance in biosensing. As a proof of concept, this MXene@PAMAM-based nanobiosensing platform was applied to develop an immunosensor for detecting human cardiac troponin T (cTnT). A fast, sensitive, and highly selective response toward the target in the presence of a [Fe(CN) 6 ] 3−/4− redox marker was realized, ensuring a wide detection of 0.1–1000 ng/mL with an LOD of 0.069 ng/mL. The sensor’s signal only decreased by 4.38% after 3 weeks, demonstrating that it exhibited satisfactory stability and better results than previously reported MXene-based biosensors. This work has potential applicability in the bioanalysis of cTnT and other biomarkers and paves a new path for fabricating high-performance MXenes for biomedical applications and electrochemical engineering.

Preliminary results indicated that this immunosensor was validated with a fast and sensitive response toward cTnT in presence of [Fe(CN)(6)](3-/4-) redox marker and displayed a wide detection range from 0.1 to 1000 ng/mL and a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.069 ng/mL. This high-performance MXene-based nanobiosensing platform has the potential applicability in bioanalysis of cTnT or other biomarkers and opens a new pathway for expanding its application in the electrochemical biosensing field.

Abstract:Fumonisin B1 (FB1), as one of the highest toxicity mycotoxins, poses a serious threat to animal and human health, even at low concentrations. It is significant and challenging to develop a sensitive and reliable analytical device. Herein, a paper-based electrochemical aptasensor was designed utilizing tetrahedral DNA nanostructures (TDNs) to controllably anchor an aptamer (Apt), improving the recognition efficiency of Apt to its target. First, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs)@MXenes were used as a sensing substrate with good conductivity and modified on the electrode for immobilization of complementary DNA-TDNs (cDNA-TDNs). In the absence of FB1, numerous Apt-Au@Pt nanocrystals (NCs) was hybridized with cDNA and assembled on the sensing interface, which accelerated the oxidation of TMB with H2O2 and produced a highly amplified differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) signal. When the target FB1 specifically bound to its Apt, the electrochemical signal was decreased by releasing the Apt-Au@Pt NCs from double-stranded DNA (dsDNA). On account of the strand displacement reaction by FB1 triggering, the aptasensor had a wider dynamic linear range (from 50 fg/mL to 100 ng/mL) with a lower limit of detection (21 fg/mL) under the optimized conditions. More impressively, the designed FB1 aptasensor exhibited satisfactory performance in corn and wheat samples. Therefore, the TDN-engineered sensing platform opens an effective approach for sensitive and accurate analysis of FB1, holding strong potential in food safety and public health.
Gold Nanoparticle-Embedded Thiol-Functionalized Ti3C2Tx MXene for Sensitive Electrochemical Sensing of Ciprofloxacin

Abstract:The unregulated use of ciprofloxacin (CIPF) has led to increased resistance in patients and has threatened human health with issues such as digestive disorders, kidney disorders, and liver complications. In order to overcome these concerns, this work introduces a portable electrochemical sensor based on a disposable integrated screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) coated with gold nanoparticle-embedded thiol-functionalized Ti3C2Tx MXene (AuNPs-S-Ti3C2Tx MXene) for simple, rapid, precise, and sensitive quantification of CIPF in milk and water samples. The high surface area and electrical conductivity of AuNPs are maximized thanks to the strong interaction between AuNPs and SH-Ti3C2Tx MXene, which can prevent the aggregation of AuNPs and endow larger electroactive areas. Ti3C2Tx MXene was synthesized from Ti3AlC2 MAX phases, and its thiol functionalization was achieved using 3-mercaptopropyl trimethoxysilane. The prepared AuNPs-S-Ti3C2Tx MXene nanocomposite was characterized using FESEM, EDS, XRD, XPS, FTIR, and UV-visible spectroscopy. The electrochemical behavior of the nanocomposite was examined using CV, EIS, DPV, and LSV. The AuNPs-S-Ti3C2Tx MXene/SPCE showed higher electrochemical performances towards CIPF oxidation than a conventional AuNPs-Ti3C2Tx MXene/SPCE. Under the optimized DPV and LSV conditions, the developed nonenzymatic CIPF sensor displayed a wide range of detection concentrations from 0.50 to 143 μM (DPV) and from 0.99 to 206 μM (LSV) with low detection limits of 0.124 μM (DPV) and 0.171 μM (LSV), and high sensitivities of 0.0863 μA/μM (DPV) and 0.2182 μA/μM (LSV).

Abstract:Herein, a sandwich electrochemical sensing strategy for aflatoxin b 1 (AFB 1 ) detection based on hybrid-nanoengineering was presented. First, Au nanoparticle was doped into zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) to form Au@ZIF-8 by in-situ growth method, followed by multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) addition to synthesize MWCNTs/Au@ZIF-8 via self-assembly. The structural "confinement effect" of ZIF-8 afforded a microenvironment for Au nanoparticles and SMCNTs in a certain spatial region, giving MWCNTs/Au@ZIF-8 excellent electrochemical property as the substrate material. In addition, Au-Pt bimetallic nanoparticle, which exhibited excellent stability and catalytic activity was loaded on the hollow cerium oxide (CeO 2 ) to form AuPt@CeO 2 nanoparticle through one-step aqueous phase reduction. Owning to its high surface-to-volume ratio, satisfied electron transfer efficiency and biocompatibility, massive toluidine blue (TB) and AFB 1 antibody (Ab) could be modified on the AuPt@CeO 2 to form AuPt@CeO 2 -Ab-TB, which acted as signal tag for the ultrasensitive assay of AFB 1 . The proposed electrochemical sensing system exhibited wide detection range (2 × 10 -5 − 20 ng/mL) and low detection limit (2.13 fg/mL), which has been successfully applied to AFB 1 determination in four real samples. The hybrid nanoengineering presented in this work is an active attempt to prepare high-performance substrate material and signal tag, which provides a new insight for the development of highly sensitive and specific electrochemical sensing systems.

Ultrasensitive “Signal-Inversion” Photoelectrochemical Aptasensor Based on Semiconductive MOF Integrated with the Manganese Ferrite Nanozyme-Regulation for the Selective Detection of Fumonisin B1

Abstract:In this work, we developed a novel "signal-inversion" photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor based on the photoelectric active CuCo-based metal-organic framework with 2,3,6,7,10,11-hexaiminotriphenylene (HITP) as ligand [denoted as Cu2.46Co0.54(HITP)2] for sensitively detecting fumonisin B1 (FB1) using the enzyme-assisted biocatalytic precipitation reaction. The bimetallic semiconductive Cu2.46Co0.54(HITP)2 exhibited large specific surface area and pore size, graphene-like nanostructure, narrow band gap, enhanced photoabsorption ability, and high functionality. Thus, large amounts of single-strand DNA (sDNA) were immobilized over the Cu2.46Co0.54(HITP)2-modified electrode because of Van der Waal force, electrostatic force, and it-it stacking interaction. Then, sDNA was hybridized with the MnFe2O4-decorated FB1-target aptamer because of the complementary bases. As such, FB1 was recognized by generating the G-quadruplex between FB1 and aptamer. This G-quadruplex was released from the electrode surface. In the presence of H2O2, 3,3-diaminobenzidine was electrocatalytically oxidized by the remnant MnFe2O4, thereby producing the brown insoluble precipitate. The cover of modified electrode by the precipitate efficiently weakened the output photocurrent. With the increase of the level of FB1, the gradually declined amount of MnFe2O4 on the developed aptasensor resulted in the recovery of the photocurrent, realizing the signal inversion. The "signal-inversion" PEC aptasensor based on Cu2.46Co0.54(HITP)2 had a wide linear range of 0.1 pg mL- 1 to 10 ng mL- 1 and an ultralow detection limit of 65 fg mL- 1, together with comprehensive aptasensing performances. By integrating the enhanced photoelectric conversion efficiency of Cu2.46Co0.54(HITP)2 and the superior electrocatalytic activity of MnFe2O4, the present strategy exhibits a wide application toward the sensitive analysis of mycotoxins.

Abstract:Polyoxometalates possess many useful properties for electrochemical catalysis. These molecule-size clusters can be assembled into thin films through the layer-by-layer method. In this study, we determined a cluster concentration range within which layer-by-layer (LbL) films have been successfully fabricated. We also find the influence of salt added to the deposition solutions. In an attempt to understand the self-assembly process at the molecular level, thermodynamic arguments, derived from complexation between nanoscale particles and oppositely charged polyelectrolyte chains, have been employed to interpret the adsorption of polyoxometalate clusters onto a cationic polymer layer. The scaling results describe the contact mode between a polymer chain and a cluster. The assembly can be visualized with assistance by understanding the contact between the polymer chain and the cluster.

Abstract:A refined electrochemical aptamer sensing technique using PEI@Ti-MOF@Ti3C2Tx-MXene was developed for the sensitive detection of ZEN in food samples. A titanium-based metal-organic skeleton (NH2-MIL-125) was synthesized in situ using 2-aminoterephthalic acid as the organic ligand and tetrabutyl titanate as the metal center, followed by the simultaneous hybridization of Ti3C2Tx-MXene to synthesize a Ti-MOF@Ti3C2Tx-MXene composite material. These composites were subsequently functionalized with PEI and covalently linked to form a sensing platform on gold electrodes. Integrating a metal-organic framework (MOF) with MXene materials not only improved the electrochemical properties compared to those of individual elements but also decreased the stacking effect and increased the number of binding sites for the aptamer. The limit of detection (LOD) of this sensor was 1.64 fg mL-1. Additionally, the sensor could efficaciously detect ZEN in cornmeal and beer samples, exhibiting outstanding stability, reproducibility, and selectivity. This highlighted its effectiveness in applications in quality supervision and food safety.

Abstract:Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is one of the most toxic mycotoxins and poses a high risk to human health. Highly sensitive and rapid detection is one of the most effective preventive measures to avoid potential hazards. Herein, an electrochemical aptasensor based on DNA nanotetrahedron and zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 loading gold nanoparticles, horseradish peroxidase, and aptamers was designed for the ultrasensitive detection of AFB1. The high specific surface area and large pore volume of zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 can increase the loading capacity and further improve the detection sensitivity of electrochemical aptasensors. DNA nanotetrahedron can enhance the capture ability of AFB1 with steady immobilization. The developed aptasensor showed good analytical performance for AFB1 detection, with a detection limit of 3.9 pg mL-1 and a wide linear range of 0.01-100 ng mL-1. The aptasensor detected AFB1 in corn samples with recovery rates ranging from 94.19%-105.77% and has potential for use in food safety monitoring.

Abstract:Ni-Zn bimetallic organic framework nanosheets (NiZn-MOF NSs) were modified onto PEI-functionalized MXene for the first time. The combination of the two kinds of nanosheets forms a sensing platform with superior conductivity and biocompatibility. On this basis, a highly sensitive biosensor was developed for the determination of sulfadimethoxine (SDM). Furthermore, Au and Mn nanoparticles decorated reduced graphene oxide (Au-Mn/rGO) was introduced as a signal hindering molecule under the target-induced amplification strategy. When the Au-Mn/rGO-labelled SDM-binding aptamer (Au-Mn/rGO-SBA) specifically bound to target SDM, it detached from the electrode, thereby further amplifying the electrochemical signal of [Fe(CN) 6 ] 3− / 4− . The developed aptasensor for SDM showed excellent response signals in the range 1 pg mL −1 to 100 ng mL −1 , with a limit of detection (LOD) as low as 0.22 pg mL −1 . Significantly, the proposed sensor also showed satisfactory results in milk samples with recoveries ranging from 87.0 to 96.4% and RSD from 1.5 to 5.1%, which is believed to be useful in food safety assays.

Metabolic pathway-based self-assembled Au@MXene liver microsome electrochemical biosensor for rapid screening of aflatoxin B1

Abstract:Cytochrome P450 enzymes (CYPs) catalyze the production of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) metabolites, which play an important role in carcinogenesis. In this study, we report a simple electrochemical liver-microsome-based biosensor using a composite of gold nanoparticles adsorbed on MXene (Au@MXene) for rapid screening of AFB1. Rat liver microsomes (RLMs) were directly adsorbed on the Au@MXene nanocomposite. The high conductivity, large specific surface area, and good biocompatibility of the Au@MXene nanocomposite enabled the direct electron transfer between the RLMs and the electrode and maintained the biological activity of the enzyme in the RLMs to a large extent. The metabolic behavior of the RLM biosensor that was developed for the electrocatalyst of AFB1 to its hydroxylation metabolite aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) was confirmed. Based on the change in the electrical signal generated by this metabolic behavior, we established the relationship between AFB1 content and amperometric (I-t) current signal. When the AFB1 concentration ranged from 0.01 μM to 50 μM, the AFB1 concentration was linearly related to the electrical signal with a limit of detection of 2.8 nM. The results of the recovery experiments for corn samples showed that the recovery and accuracy of the sensor were consistent with the UPLC-MS/MS method.

Abstract:Two-dimensional (2D) transition metal carbides and nitrides, named MXene, appear promising application prospects in sensor filed. Metal nanoparticles, especially bimetallic nanoparticles, are the superior nanocatalyst, which process excellent features due to the high specific surface area and synergistic catalytic capacity. Using ultrathin MXene nanosheets as the natural reducing agent and support, we prepare the shape-controlled Au-Pd bimetallic nanoparticles via a self-reduction process at room temperature in a short time, which can well enhance the catalytic performance and are benefit for the acetylcholinesterase immobilization. Based on their desired properties, we propose a disposable electrochemical biosensor for the detection of organophosphorus pesticide using the mull-dimensional nanocomposites (MXene/Au-Pd) as the functional platform. Under the optimized conditions, our fabricated biosensor exhibits a favorable linear relationship with the concentration of paraoxon from 0.1 to 1000 mu g L-1, with a low detection limit of 1.75 ng L-1. Furthermore, the biosensor can be applied for paraoxon detection in pear and cucumber samples, providing an effective and useful avenue for the applicability of novel 2D nanomaterials in biosensing field.
Colorimetric and ECL dual-mode aptasensor for smartphone-based onsite sensitive detection of aflatoxin B1 in combination with ZnO@MWCNTs/g-C3N4 nanosheets and CuO@CuPt nanocomposites

Abstract:The development of dual-mode strategies with superior sensitivity and accuracy have garnered increasing attention for researchers in Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) analysis. Herein, a colorimetric-electrochemiluminescence (ECL) dual-mode biosensor was constructed for onsite and ultrasensitive determination of AFB1. The multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were integrated with the ZnO metal organic frameworks (MOFs) to accelerate the electron transfer and boost the ECL intensity of g-C3N4 nanoemitters. Through the aptamer-based DNA sandwich assay, the CuO@CuPt nanocomposites were introduced onto the electrode and acted as the dual functional signal nanoprobes. Due to the good spectrum overlap between the CuO@CuPt nanoprobes and g-C3N4 nanosheets, ECL signal could be efficiently quenched. Additionally, the CuO@CuPt nanoprobes show superior catalytic properties towards the TMB and H2O2 colorimetric reactions, and an obvious color alteration from colorless to blue can be observed using the smartphone. Under optimized conditions, a sensitive and accurate dual-mode analysis of the AFB1 was accomplished with the colorimetric detection limit of 3.26 fg/mL and ECL detection limit of 0.971 fg/mL (S/N = 3). This study combines innovative nanomaterial properties of ZnO@MWCNTs, g-C3N4 and CuO@CuPt for ultrasensitive dual-mode detection, which offers new opportunities for the innovative engineering of the dual-mode sensors and demonstrates significant potential in food safety analysis.

Abstract:Fumonisin B1 (FB1), the most prevalent and highest toxicity mycotoxins among fumonisins family, poses threats to human especially children and infants even at a trace level. Therefore, its facile and sensitive detection is of importance. Herein, Z-scheme Cu2MoS4/CdS/In2S3 nanocage-like heterojunctions (labeled Cu2MoS4/CdS/In2S3) were synthesized, whose photoelectrochemical (PEC) property and electron transfer mechanism were strictly investigated. The Cu2MoS4/CdS/In2S3 behaved as photoactive substrate for building a PEC sensing platform for detection of FB1, integrated with PtPd alloy modified hollow CoSnO3 nanoboxes (labeled PtPd-CoSnO3) nanozyme. By virtue of the stronger affinity between the target FB1 and its aptamer (FB1-Apt), the photocurrent was recovered by releasing the CoSnO3-PtPd3 modified FB1-Apt (FB1-Apt/PtPd-CoSnO3) from the photoanode, which can terminate the catalytic precipitation reaction for its peroxidase-like property. The resultant PEC aptasensor exhibited a wider dynamic linear range from 1 × 10-4 to 1 × 102 ng mL-1 with a lower limit of detection (0.0723 pg mL-1). Thus, this research provides a feasible PEC sensing platform for routine analysis of other mycotoxins in practice.

Signal-enhanced electrochemical sensor employing MWCNTs/CMK-3/AuNPs and Au@Pd core-shell structure for sensitive determination of AFB1 in complex matrix

Abstract:A sandwich electrochemical sensor was fabricated based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes/ordered mesoporous carbon/AuNP (MWCNTs/CMK-3/AuNP) nanocomposites and porous core-shell nanoparticles Au@PdNPs to achieve rapid and sensitive detection of AFB1 in complex matrices. MWCNTs/CMK-3/AuNP nanocomposite, which was prepared by self-assembly method, served as a substrate material to increase the aptamer loading and improve the conductivity and electrocatalytic activity of the electrode for the first signal amplification. Then, Au@PdNPs, which were synthesized by one-pot aqueous phase method, were applied as nanocarriers loaded with plenty of capture probe antibody (Ab) and signal molecule toluidine blue (Tb) to form the Au@PdNPs-Ab-Tb bioconjugates for secondary signal amplification. The sensing system could still significantly improve the signal output intensity even in the presence of ultra-low concentration target compound due to the dual signal amplification of MWCNTs/CMK-3/AuNP nanocomposites and Au@PdNPs-Ab-Tb. The method exhibited high selectivity, low detection limit (9.13 fg/mL), and strong stability to differentiate AFB1 from other mycotoxins. Furthermore, the sensor has been successfully applied to the quantitative determination of AFB1 in corn, malt, and six herbs, which has potential applications in food safety, quality control, and environmental monitoring.
Ti3C2 MXene/MoS2@AuNPs ternary nanocomposite for highly sensitive electrochemical detection of phoxim residues in fruits

Abstract:Phoxim, extensively utilized in agriculture as an organothiophosphate insecticide, has the potential to cause neurotoxicity and pose human health hazards. In this study, an electrochemical enzyme biosensor based on Ti3C2 MXene/MoS2@AuNPs/AChE was constructed for the sensitive detection of phoxim. The two-dimensional multilayer structure of Ti3C2 MXene provides a robust framework for MoS2, leading to an expansion of the specific surface area and effectively preventing re-stacking of Ti3C2 MXene. Additionally, the synergistic effect of self-reduced grown AuNPs with MoS2 further improves the electrical conductivity of the composites, while the robust framework provides a favorable microenvironment for immobilization of enzyme molecules. Ti3C2 MXene/MoS2@AuNPs electrochemical enzyme sensor showed a significant response to phoxim in the range of 1 × 10-13 M to 1 × 10-7 M with a detection limit of 5.29 × 10-15 M. Moreover, the sensor demonstrated excellent repeatability, reproducibility, and stability, thereby showing its promising potential for real sample detection.
Fabrication of a high-performance photoelectrochemical aptamer sensor based on Er-MOF nanoballs functionalized with ionic liquid and gold nanoparticles for aflatoxin B1 detection

Abstract:One of the most dangerous mycotoxins is Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) that is commonly found in food. Thus, AFB1 has been considered as a serious food safety concern. Herein, using Er-MOF nanoballs assembled with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as photoactive elements, a photoelectrochemical aptasensor with high analytical performance was developed for sensing AFB1. Er-MOFs nanoballs were prepared by using ionic liquid as a ligand and Er 3+ as a metal center through a solvothermal method. Chloroauric acid was reduced in-situ onto Er-MOF nanoballs to form nanocomposites. AuNPs can effectively enhance the photocurrent of Er-MOF nanoballs attributed to their excellent conductivity and local surface plasma resonance effect. In addition, they can provide active sites for immobilizing more biorecognition elements that can further enhance the sensing performance. Through self-assembling reaction, thiol-functionalized hairpin DNA (hDNA) was immobilized onto an interface to construct a photoelectrochemical biosensing platform. As the AFB1 aptamers labeled with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs-Apt) were selectively recognized, the photocurrent response can be further amplified. Due to the high affinity of AFB1 and its aptamer (Apt), when Apt is reacted with AFB1, it causes AuNPs-Apt detaching from the PEC aptasensing interface, and thus a reduced photocurrent response is generated. Under optimized conditions, the changes of photocurrent before and after recognition of AFB1 exhibits a linear response from 0.005 to 10.0 ng mL -1 . In addition, the limit of detection obtained was 19.6 fg mL -1 . This PEC aptasensor provides relatively high selectivity, reproducibility and accuracy in the determination of AFB1 in real corn samples.

Abstract:Aflatoxin in food is a significant concern that threatens human health and life and causes a heavy burden on international trade and healthcare. In this work, we developed a new type of label-free electrochemical immunosensor for the high-sensitivity determination of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) based on Au nanoparticles decorated urchin-like Bi 2 S 3 (Au/Bi 2 S 3 ) anchored on electrochemically reduced graphene oxide (ERGO) modified carbon fiber (CF) microelectrode (Au/Bi 2 S 3 /ERGO/CF). The morphology and characterization of the modified microelectrode were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). Under the optimum conditions, the label-free electrochemical immunosensor detected AFB1 within the linear range of 10 pg mL -1 to 20 ng mL -1 , with a low detection limit of 8 pg mL -1 and high sensitivity (0.48 μA ng -1 mL). The immunosensor showed high selectivity, good reproducibility, and acceptable stability. The immunosensor was applied to detecting AFB1 in cornflour samples, offering excellent reliability and accuracy compared with typical detection methods. Finally, this platform provides a superior prospect for the development of a nanohybrid immunosensor.

Abstract:Protecting cereals from contamination by mycotoxins requires rapid and sensitive detection methods. In this study, a screening-detection electrochemiluminescent (ECL) aptasensor was constructed by combining Ru(bpy) 3 2+ -doped silica nanoparticles (RuSiNPs) and anodized aluminum oxide (AAO). This aptasensor was successfully used in the ultrasensitive and highly selective detection of aflatoxin B 1 (AFB 1 ) in wheat. In the aptasensor, MXene and gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) act as the conductive material and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) source, respectively, to enhance the ECL signals of RuSiNPs. Meanwhile, due to their highly ordered porous structure, AAO pasted on the electrode surface can effectively screen out the macromolecular interferents, providing a pure environment for the aptamer (Apt) to specifically capture AFB 1 . Because the formed AFB 1 -Apt complex hinders electron transfer, the ECL intensity of the aptasensor decreases with increasing AFB 1 concentration to achieve quantitative detection. Under the optimal conditions, the linear range and detection limit of the screening-detection ECL aptasensor were 0.01−100 μg/kg and 1.5 × 10 −3 μg/kg (S/N = 3), respectively. In summary, the proposed screening-detection ECL aptasensor for the quantitative detection of AFB 1 is a promising new approach for the early detection of moldy wheat.

Novel Nanoarchitecture of Co-MOF-on-TPN-COF Hybrid: Ultralowly Sensitive Bioplatform of Electrochemical Aptasensor Toward Ampicillin

Abstract:Owning to the misuse of the antibiotics in animal husbandry and agriculture, it is highly urgent to determine the quantification of antibiotics in biological systems by the simple, sensitive, and fast method. In this work, a novel nanoarchitecture of Co-based metal-organic frameworks (Co-MOF) and terephthalonitrile-based covalent organic framework (TPN-COF) was synthesized (represented by Co-MOF@TPN-COF), followed by the exploitation as the bioplatform of non-label aptasensor for detecting the most frequently used beta-lactam antibiotics, ampicillin (AMP). The new porous hybrid material of Co-MOF@TPN-COF was synthesized by adding the as-prepared TPN-COF into the Co-MOF preparation system. The multilayered Co-MOF@TPN-COF nanosheets exhibit a high specific surface area (52.64 m(2) g(-1)), nitrogen-rich groups and excellent electrochemical activity. As a result, large amounts of aptamer strands can be bound over the Co-MOF@TPN-COF nanosheets owning to the strong n-ic stacking and hydrogen bonds. When detecting AMP by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, the fabricated Co-MOF@TPN-COF-based aptasensor exhibits an ultra-low detection limit of 0.217 fg(-1) within the AMP concentration from 1.0 fg(-1) to 2.0 ng(-1), which was superior to those previously reported in literatures. In addition, this proposed aptasensor also shows high selectivity, good reproducibility and stability, acceptable regenerability, and favorable applicability in human serum, river water and milk. Therefore, the proposed Co-MOF@TPN-COF-based aptasensor has a great promise to be applied as a powerful tool in the fields of food safety.
