Abstract:Abstract Background Concerns have been raised regarding the impact of preoperative intravenous dexamethasone on postoperative glycemic control in diabetic patients undergoing total joint arthroplasty (TJA). This study aimed to determine relationships between preoperative different dexamethasone regimens and postoperative fasting blood glucose (FBG), as well as to identify risk factors for postoperative FBG ≥ 200 mg/dl in diabetic patients undergoing TJA. Methods This retrospective study included 1216 diabetic patients undergoing TJA and categorized into group A (dexamethasone = 0 mg), group B (dexamethasone = 5 mg), and group C (dexamethasone = 10 mg). All dexamethasone was administered before skin incision. FBG levels were monitored until postoperative day (POD) 3. Analyses were conducted for periprosthetic joint infection (PJI) and wound complications during 90 days postoperatively. And the risk factors for postoperative FBG ≥ 200 mg/dl were identified. Results Preoperative dexamethasone administration resulted in a transiently higher FBG on POD 0 and POD 1 (all P < 0.001). However, no differences were observed on POD 2 ( P = 0.583) and POD 3 ( P = 0.131) among three groups. While preoperative dexamethasone led to an increase in postoperative mean FBG and postoperative maximum FBG (all P < 0.001), no differences were found in wound complications ( P = 0.548) and PJI ( P = 1.000). Increased HbA1c and preoperative high FBG, but not preoperative dexamethasone, were identified as risk factors for postoperative FBG ≥ 200 mg/dl. Preoperative HbA1c level of ≥ 7.15% was associated with an elevated risk of postoperative FBG ≥ 200 mg/dl. Conclusions Although preoperative intravenous administration of 5 mg or 10 mg dexamethasone in diabetic patients showed transient effects on postoperative FBG after TJA, no differences were found in the rates of PJI and wound complications during 90 days postoperatively. Notably, patients with a preoperative HbA1c level of ≥ 7.15% and elevated preoperative FBG may encountered postoperative FBG ≥ 200 mg/dl.

Abstract:Background Postoperative infection is a devastating complication of total joint arthroplasty (TJA). Perioperative use of dexamethasone in patients who have diabetes mellitus (DM) remains controversial due to concern for increased infection risk. This study aimed to evaluate the association between dexamethasone and infection risk among patients who have DM undergoing TJA. Methods This was a retrospective cohort study conducted on adult patients who underwent primary, elective total knee arthroplasty (TKA) or total hip arthroplasty (THA) between January 2016 and December 2021 using a large national database. We identified 110,568 TJA patients (TKA: 66.6%; THA: 33.4%), 31.0% (34,298) of which had DM. Patients who received perioperative dexamethasone were compared to those who did not. The primary endpoints were the 90-day risk of postoperative periprosthetic joint infection (PJI), surgical site infection (SSI), and other non-surgical site infection (urinary tract infection [UTI], pneumonia, sepsis). Results When modeling the association between dexamethasone exposure and study outcomes while accounting for the interaction between dexamethasone and morning blood glucose levels (BGL), dexamethasone administration conferred no increased odds of PJI nor SSI in diabetics. However, dexamethasone significantly lowered the adjusted odds of other postoperative infections in diabetic patients (TKA: adjusted odds ratio [aOR]=09, 95% confidence-interval [CI]=0.8 to 1.0, P =0.030; THA: aOR=0.7, 95% CI=0.6 to 0.9, P =0.001); specifically in patients with morning blood glucose levels between 110 to 248 mg/dL in TKA and ≤172 mg/dL in THA. Conclusions This study provides strong evidence against withholding dexamethasone in diabetic patients undergoing TJA based on concern for infection. Instead, short-course perioperative dexamethasone reduced infection risk in select patients. The narrative surrounding dexamethasone should shift away from questions about whether dexamethasone is appropriate for diabetic patients, and instead focus on how best to optimize its use.

Abstract:Aims. Antenatal dexamethasone administration for fetal lung development may impair maternal glucose tolerance. In this study, we investigated whether glucose and insulin levels differed among singleton and twin pregnancies and pregnancies with impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) after treatment with dexamethasone.Methods. Singleton pregnancies, twin pregnancies, and pregnancies with IGT between 28 and 33 weeks of gestation whose mothers were treated with dexamethasone were enrolled in this study. Exclusion criteria included gestational hypertension, diabetes, renal disorders, and infectious diseases. The fasting plasma glucose and insulin levels were checked before administration and 24 h, 48 h, and 72 h after treatment was completed.Results. Mean glucose levels were significantly higher in the twin pregnancy and IGT groups at 24 h and 48 h after the administration of dexamethasone than those in the singleton pregnancy group (P<0.05). Although there was no significant difference in glucose levels before administration and 72 h after dexamethasone administration among the three groups, insulin levels in the IGT group were significantly higher (P<0.05). Insulin levels in the singleton pregnancy group at 24 h and 48 h after treatment were significantly lower than in the twin and IGT groups.Conclusion. The effects on maternal fasting blood glucose and insulin levels of dexamethasone administrated to promote fetal lung maturation correlated with embryo number and the presence of IGT.

Abstract:IVF makes possible research on human oocytes, human fertilization, and the early stages of human development in vitro. On ethical grounds, such research should not be motivated by curiosity alone but should be directed toward the promotion of human welfare. Possible objectives include the alleviation of infertility, the regulation of fertility through new contraceptive approaches, and the diagnosis of genetic and chromosomal defects during the preimplantation period. Research on the IVF conceptus in Britain today is all carried out under license, and a complete list of projects under way is available from the Voluntary Licensing Authority. At present the projects are mainly concerned with infertility problems, in particular with improving the success rate of IVF as a therapeutic procedure. Contraceptive development is only just beginning to take advantage of the new opportunities available. Research tomorrow is likely to be focused much more on the possibilities of early diagnosis of genetic diseases and chromosomal abnormalities, and could also shed light on the generation of some of these abnormalities during the process of fertilization.

Abstract:Background: Dexmedetomidine (DEX) is an α2-adrenergic receptor agonist with sedative and sympatholytic effects. It inhibits the stress response and insulin secretion. Therefore, postoperative changes to blood glucose levels were investigated when DEX was intraoperatively infused for sedation purposes in diabetic patients under spinal anesthesia. Methods: Twenty diabetic patients were randomly allocated to two groups (n = 10). Group A patients were infused with DEX at a dose of 0.4 - 0.8 Î¼g/kg/hour and group B (control) patients were infused with the same volume of normal saline. The blood glucose levels were measured preoperatively and at 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 hours postoperatively. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the blood glucose levels in groups A and B up to 24 hours postoperatively (P = 0.088). A statistically significant difference in the blood glucose level was not demonstrated 24 hours after surgery in comparison with the baseline level in Group A. The blood glucose level significantly decreased at three hours in group B in comparison with the level at baseline (P = 0.007) and increased at 24 hours (P = 0.037). Conclusions: An intraoperative DEX infusion maintains blood glucose levels at a constant level relative to baseline in diabetic patients within 24 hours postoperatively. The frequency of hyperglycemia was low in group A in the perioperative period compared with that in the control group (group B). Perioperative Dexamethasone Split Between Two Doses Further Reduced Early Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting Than Single Dose Dexamethasone: A Randomized Blinded Placebo-Controlled Trial

Abstract:Objective: We investigated whether two perioperative doses of dexamethasone are more effective than a single dose in reducing early postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) during total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Methods: A total of 150 patients between June 1, 2021 and June 1, 2022 were randomized into three groups: two doses of normal saline (group A); a single dose of 10 mg dexamethasone before surgery and normal saline after surgery (group B); and two doses of 5 mg dexamethasone during the perioperative period (group C). Primary outcomes were incidences and severity of PONV within 24 hours after surgery; the number of patients requiring and the consumption of morphine and metoclopramine; and VAS scores for nausea and vomiting at 2, 4, 6, and 24 hours after surgery. Blood glucose levels on days 1, 2, and 3 after operation and incidences of surgical site infection (SSI) as well as gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) within 45 days after operation were compared. Results: Within 24 hours after operation, the number of patients requiring and the amount of consumption of morphine and metoclopramide in groups B and C were significantly lower than those in group A, however, differences between groups B and C were insignificant (P > 0.05). Incidences and severity of PONV in groups B and C were significantly lower than those in group A, and differences between groups B and C were also significant (P < 0.05). At 2, 4, 6, and 24 hours after operation, there were significant differences in visual analogue scale (VAS) scores of PONV between groups A and B, A and C, as well as B and C. On postoperative days 1, 2, and 3, there were no significant differences in blood glucose levels among the groups, and there were no incidences of SSI or GIB in any group within 45 days after operation. Conclusion: Dexamethasone significantly reduces PONV within 24 hours after TKA, does not result in significant changes in postoperative blood glucose levels, and does not increase the risk of SSI as well as GIB. In addition, perioperative two-dose dexamethasone is more advantageous than single-dose dexamethasone in reducing PONV incidence and severity within 24 hours after TKA.

Abstract:Purpose: To evaluate the usefulness of an in vitro corneal organ culture system for studying severe alkali burns. Methods: Fresh bovine cornea was cultured using an established organ culture system. Two molar sodium hydroxide was applied to the corneal and limbal epithelia for 60 seconds. Gross and ultrastructural changes were evaluated at different time points over a 1-week period. Results: The condition of the alkali-burned cornea deteriorated in a time-dependent manner over the 1-week period. Gross changes were evident immediately, and ultrastructural changes were detected in the epithelium, stroma, and endothelium at 1 hour after the alkali burn. By 7 days, most of the corneal and limbal epithelia were destroyed. The corneal stroma was disrupted with separation of lamella and fragmentation of collagen fibrils. By day 7, the endothelium was reduced to cellular debris, although Descemet membrane remained intact. Conclusions: The changes observed in the in vitro organ culture model in response to a severe alkali burn are similar to those observed by other groups in clinical and in vivo studies. We believe that this or similar organ culture systems could be used to evaluate some aspects of severe alkali burns.

Abstract:The diphasic fungus, Coccidioides immitis, has been subjected to several cytological and histochemical studies (Fonseca, 1928; Ciferri, 1932; Baker, Mrak and Smith, 1943; Negroni, 1949, 1953) in an effort to classify the organism and to establish criteria for its identification. These contributions have served to elucidate many of the morphological features originally described by Posadas (1892) and Wernicke (1892) in tissue, and by Ophuls and Moffitt (1900) and Ophuls (1905) in culture. In the present study a cytological investigation, by means of thin sections of the fungus, has been made by electron microscopy. The study has included both the tissue (parasitic) phase consisting of endospores and sporangia, frequently referred to as spherules, and the cultural (saprophytic) phase in which arthrospores and chlamydospores are produced from mycelium. A comparison of the morphology of certain cell components in the two phases is made and a description of some developmental details of septa and cleavage furrows is given.

Abstract:Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of perioperative dexamethasone on postoperative complications after pancreaticoduodenectomy. Background: The glucocorticoid dexamethasone has been shown to improve postoperative outcomes in surgical patients, but its effects on postoperative complications after pancreaticoduodenectomy are unclear. Methods: This multicenter, double-blind, randomized controlled trial was conducted in four Chinese high-volume pancreatic centers. Adults undergoing elective pancreaticoduodenectomy were randomized to receive either 0.2 mg/kg dexamethasone or a saline placebo as an intravenous bolus within 5 minutes after anesthesia induction. The primary outcome was the Comprehensive Complication Index (CCI) score within 30 days after the operation, analyzed using the modified intention-to-treat principle. Results: Among 428 patients for eligibility, 300 participants were randomized and 265 were included in the modified intention-to-treat analyses. 134 patients received dexamethasone and 131 patients received a placebo. The mean (SD) CCI score was 14.0 (17.5) in the dexamethasone group and 17.9 (20.3) in the placebo group (mean difference, −3.8; 95% CI, −8.4 to 0.7; P =0.100). The incidence of major complications (Clavien-Dindo grade ≥III) (12.7% vs. 16.0%, risk ratio 0.79; 95% CI, 0.44 to 1.43; P =0.439) and postoperative pancreatic fistula (25.4% vs. 31.3%, risk ratio 0.81; 95% CI, 0.55 to 1.19; P =0.286) were not significantly different between the two groups. In the stratum of participants with a main pancreatic duct ≤3 mm (n=202), the CCI score was significantly lower in the dexamethasone group (mean difference, -6.4; 95% CI, −11.2 to −1.6; P =0.009). Conclusion: Perioperative dexamethasone did not significantly reduce postoperative complications within 30 days after pancreaticoduodenectomy.

Abstract:Abstract Purpose To investigate the effect of dexmedetomidine on intraoperative blood glucose hemostasis in elderly patients undergoing non-cardiac major surgery. Methods This was secondary analysis of a randomized controlled trial. Patients in dexmedetomidine group received a loading dose dexmedetomidine (0.6 μg/kg in 10 min before anaesthesia induction) followed by a continuous infusion (0.5 μg/kg/hr) till 1 h before the end of surgery. Patients in control group received volume-matched normal saline at the same time interval. Primary outcome was the incidence of intraoperative hyperglycemia (blood glucose higher than 10 mmol/L). Results 303 patients in dexmedetomidine group and 306 patients in control group were analysed. The incidence of intraoperative hyperglycemia showed no statistical significance between dexmedetomidine group and control group (27.4% vs. 22.5%, RR = 1.22, 95%CI 0.92–1.60, P = 0.167). Median value of glycemic variation in dexmedetomidine group (2.5, IQR 1.4–3.7, mmol) was slightly lower than that in control group (2.6, IQR 1.5–4.0, mmol), P = 0.034. In multivariable logistic analysis, history of diabetes (OR 3.007, 95%CI 1.826–4.950, P < 0.001), higher baseline blood glucose (OR 1.353, 95%CI 1.174–1.560, P < 0.001) and prolonged surgery time (OR 1.197, 95%CI 1.083–1.324, P < 0.001) were independent risk factors of hyperglycaemia. Conclusions Dexmedetomidine presented no effect on intraoperative hyperglycemia in elderly patients undergoing major non-cardiac surgery. Abstract:PURPOSE: To evaluate the efficacy of dexamethasone in reducing pain and accelerating recovery after total hip arthroplasty (THA).DESIGN: A prospective randomized controlled trial.METHODS: A total of 98 patients who underwent THA received either low-dose (10 mg) dexamethasone (dexa group) or isotonic saline (placebo group). C-reactive protein and interleukin-6 levels were recorded at 24, 48, and 72 hours after surgery. Pain visual analog scale (VAS) score at rest and walking, the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), nausea VAS score, postoperative identity-consequence fatigue scale rating, antiemetic use, postoperative length of stay (PLOS), and complications were also recorded and compared.FINDINGS: Inflammatory marker (C-reactive protein and interleukin-6) levels at 24, 48, and 72 hours postoperatively in the dexa group were lower than that in the placebo group (P < .05). After 24 hours of rest, the dynamic pain VAS scores in the dexa group were lower than those in the placebo group (P < .05). The incidence of PONV, nausea VAS score, and identity-consequence fatigue scale score in the dexa group were lower than those in the placebo group (P < .05), and the dosages of analgesics and antiemetics were also lower (P < .05). In addition, PLOS in the dexa group was shorter than that in the placebo group (P < .05). No significant difference in perioperative complications between the two groups was observed (P > .05).CONCLUSIONS: Low-dose dexamethasone in the THA perioperative period can effectively reduce inflammatory marker levels, pain, nausea, postoperative fatigue, opioid analgesic use, and shorten PLOS without increasing complications.

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Intertrochanteric fracture in the geriatric population is associated with poor prognosis, which may be attributed to consistent stress and the systemic inflammatory response. Dexamethasone is an exogenous glucocorticoid commonly used in clinical practice for broad anti-inflammatory action. The purpose is to investigate whether a single preoperative low-dose dexamethasone can improve the in-hospital prognosis in geriatric intertrochanteric fracture patients undergoing internal fixation surgery.METHODS: Between June 2020 and October 2022, 219 eligible patients with intertrochanteric fractures were in this study. After meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 160 patients were randomly allocated to the dexamethasone or placebo groups (80 patients who are geriatric with an intertrochanteric fracture in each group). The patients in the dexamethasone group received 10 mg (2 mL) of dexamethasone intravenously, whereas the patients in the placebo group received 2 mL of saline intravenously within 30 minutes before being sent to the operating room. The efficacy-related outcomes (the first bed-chair transfer ability, in-hospital mortality, and length of stay) and safety-related outcomes (infection events and hyperglycemia) were collected for analysis.RESULTS: There were no significant differences in the baseline characteristics between the 2 groups. The dexamethasone group had a significantly higher rate of the first bed-chair transfer than the placebo group (65.0% [52/80] vs 48.8% [39/80], relative risk = 1.46, 95% confidence interval = 1.02 to 2.11; P = .038). One patient in the dexamethasone group and 7 patients in the placebo group died during hospitalization (1.3% [1/80] vs 8.8% [7/80], relative risk = 0.92, 95% confidence interval = 0.86 to 0.99; P = .07). No differences were found in the length of stay, infections, and hyperglycemia between the 2 groups.CONCLUSION: A single preoperative low-dose of dexamethasone can improve the in-hospital prognosis (increase the ability of the first bed-chair transfer and potentially decrease the in-hospital mortality) in geriatric intertrochanteric fracture patients after internal fixation surgery.

Intraoperative intravenous versus periarticular injection of glucocorticoids in improving clinical outcomes after total knee arthroplasty: A prospective, randomized and controlled study

Abstract:Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery, Volume 32, Issue 2, May-August 2024. BackgroundGlucocorticoids have been widely used in perioperative period for postoperative pain relief after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). However, the optimal administration protocols of glucocorticoids remain controversial. This study aims to compare the efficacy of glucocorticoids between intravenous and periarticular injection on clinical outcomes.MethodsA total of 114 patients were randomly assigned to intravenous (IV) group (n = 57) and periarticular injection (PI) group (n = 57). The IV group received 10 mg dexamethasone intravenously and the PI group received periarticular injection of 10 mg dexamethasone during the procedure. The clinical outcomes were assessed using visual analogue scale (VAS), knee society score (KSS), range of motion (ROM), knee swelling, inflammation markers and complications after TKA.ResultsThe VAS score during walking at 2nd day postoperatively was lower in the PI group compared with the IV group (2.08 ± 1.45 vs 2.73 ± 1.69, p = .039), and there was no significant difference at the other time points of VAS score in two groups. The inflammation markers, knee swelling, knee ROM and KSS score were not statistically different. Vomiting and other complications occurrence were not significantly different between the two groups.ConclusionsIntraoperative periarticular injection of glucocorticoids has similar analgesic effect compared to intravenous in the postoperative period following TKA and may be even more effective on the second postoperative day. In addition, periarticular injection of glucocorticoids does not impose an excess risk or complication on patients.

Abstract:BACKGROUND Postoperative pain after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is intense and remains an unsolved problem. Some studies show that perioperative, multimodal analgesia, including intravenous dexamethasone, can provide a better analgesic effect; however, the validity of studies has raised concerns and questions remain around the efficacy, dosing, and safety of dexamethasone in patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty. OBJECTIVES The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the impact of intravenous dexamethasone on postoperative pain among patients undergoing TKA. STUDY DESIGN Systematic review and meta-analysis. SETTING Web of Science, Embase, PubMed, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials were searched to identify relevant randomized controlled trials. The last search was in August 2021. METHODS The risk of bias of the included trials was assessed by the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool. The primary outcome was postoperative visual analog scale (VAS) pain scores and secondary outcomes included cumulative equivalent intravenous morphine consumption, number of patients requiring rescue analgesic, length of hospital stay, and adverse events. We assessed the certainty of evidence according to the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) approach. RESULTS Eleven studies with 1,671 patients were included. The pooled results indicated that patients receiving dexamethasone had lower VAS pain scores at rest (24 h, MD = -0.68, [95% CI: -0.87 to -0.49]; 48 h, MD = -0.33, [95% CI: -0.46 to -0.21]) and at movement (24 h, MD = -0.74, [95% CI: -1.10 to -0.37]; 48 h, MD = -0.46, [95% CI: -0.66 to -0.26]), required less morphine (24 h, MD = -2.84 mg, [95% CI: -5.13 to -0.54]; 48 h, MD= -4.16 mg, [95% CI: -5.55 to -2.78]) and rescue analgesics, and had shorter hospitalization. There was no increase in infection, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, wound healing problems, or blood glucose levels with dexamethasone. Subgroup analysis did not observe difference between single dose and repeat dose groups. LIMITATIONS The perioperative multimodal analgesia measures were varied throughout the studies. The sample size was small for some outcomes and high heterogeneity was observed. CONCLUSIONS Our results supported the addition of perioperative intravenous dexamethasone to multimodal analgesia in total knee arthroplasty to reduce postoperative pain, opioids consumption, and length of hospital stay. Current evidence did not support the superiority of repeated-dose dexamethasone over single-dose dexamethasone; thus, we recommended perioperative 8-10 mg intravenous dexamethasone to be used based on adequate basic analgesia; however, the results may have been affected by small sample sizes and heterogeneity.

Abstract:Background: Pain management after a total-knee arthroplasty (TKA) has become an important issue in the field of medicine. This study conducted a meta-analysis from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) to assess the efficacy and safety of dexamethasone for pain management after TKA. Methods: PubMed, Medline, Embase, ScienceDirect, and the Cochrane Library were searched up to December 2017 for comparative RCTs involving dexamethasone and placebo for pain control after TKA. Primary outcomes were postoperative pain scores and opioid consumption. Secondary outcomes were length of hospital stay, adverse effects, and postoperative complications. We assessed statistical heterogeneity for each RCT with the use of a standard Chi-squared test and the I statistic. All data were carried out with Stata 14.0 software. Results: A total of 6 RCTs were included. The present meta-analysis indicated that there were significant differences between dexamethasone-treated groups and placebo groups regarding postoperative pain scores at 12, 24, and 48 hours after TKA. Administering dexamethasone could significantly reduce opioid consumption at 12 hours after TKA. However, no significant difference was found in opioid consumption at 24 and 48 hours after TKA. There was a decreased risk of adverse effects in dexamethasone groups. Conclusion: Use of dexamethasone could result in a significant reduction in postoperative pain while minimizing adverse effects after TKA. Based on the current evidence available, more RCTs are needed for further investigation.

Abstract:The American Journal of Sports Medicine, Ahead of Print. Background:Previous studies have shown that dexamethasone has a positive effect on postoperative pain control, opioid consumption, nausea, and vomiting and length of hospital stay after arthroplasty surgery.Purpose/Hypothesis:The purpose of this study was to assess whether adding perioperative dexamethasone to our current pain regimen after hip arthroscopy is more effective than a placebo. It was hypothesized that dexamethasone would reduce postoperative pain, reduce opioid consumption, improve subjective pain and nausea scores, and reduce the number of vomiting events.Study Design:Randomized controlled trial; Level of evidence, 1.Methods:A total of 50 patients requiring unilateral elective hip arthroscopy were randomized to receive intravenous dexamethasone immediately before induction of anesthesia and at 8 am on the first postoperative day (2 ×12 mg) or a placebo (sodium chloride 0.9%). The patient, the surgeons, the treating anesthesiologist, and the involved nursing and physical therapy personnel were blinded to group assignment. The primary outcome was postoperative pain, and secondary outcomes were opioid consumption and nausea scores—assessed using a translated revised version of the American Pain Society Patient Outcome Questionnaire 6 hours postoperatively and on days 1 and 2—and vomiting events. A clinical follow-up was performed 12 weeks postoperatively to assess adverse events.Results:The mean age at inclusion was 29 years in both groups. Postoperative pain levels did not differ significantly in most instances. Opioid requirements during the hospitalization in the dexamethasone group were significantly lower than those in the placebo group (31.96 ± 20.56 mg vs 51.43 ± 38 mg; P = .014). Significantly fewer vomiting events were noted in the dexamethasone group (0.15 ± 0.59 vs 0.65 ± 0.91; P = .034). Descriptive data and surgical parameters did not differ significantly.Conclusion:Perioperative intravenous dexamethasone significantly reduced postoperative opioid consumption by 40% without compromising pain level and safety, as no corticosteroid-related side effects were observed. Dexamethasone may be a valuable adjuvant to a multimodal systemic pain regimen after hip arthroscopy.Registration:NCT04610398 (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier).
