Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of persistant health education on improving the family function and life quality of discharged paitients with schizophrenia.Method Divide 62 patients into observation group and control group randomly.Health education was given to the two groups when they were admitted to hospital.Give observation group 9 months' family follow-up after discharge and give control group routine clinical follow-up.Then assess the two groups by Family Assessment Device and Generic Quality of Life Inventory before discharge and 9 months after discharge.Result There is a positive correlation between the total score of family's function and every dimension score of life quality(P<0.05).There is no significant difference in the score of FAD,GQOLL between the two groups before discharge(P>0.05),but the observation group is obviously superior to the control group after discharge for 9 months(P<0.05).Conclusion Health education can improve the families' function of patients with schizophrenia and improve their quality of life.
Effects of Health Education and Functional Rehabilitation on Health-related Quality of Life for Parkinson’s Disease

Abstract:Aim: To empower people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) to deal with the challenges related to their disease and try to develop an effective and efficient program pattern on health-related quality of life (HR-QOL). Methods: Using a single-blind, controlled clinical trial to compare the HR-QOL of forty-four non-demented patients suffering from PD in their early to moderate stage. Among them there were an intervention group (n=21) and control group (n=19). The intervention group was given a combination of health education with functional rehabilitation for eight weeks. Results: A total of 40 patients completed the study. After eight weeks, HR-QOL of the intervention group improved significantly (P<0.001), whilst in the middle of the intervention, only the subscale for bodily discomfort improved (P<0.001). Conclusion: The present program that integrated health education with functional rehabilitation appears to be a beneficial and practical intervention for PD.
Effectiveness of Person-Centered Health Education in the General Practice of Geriatric Chronic Disease Care

Abstract:Objective: This study assesses the impact of personalized health education on elderly patients with chronic diseases in a general practice setting. The rationale behind the incorporation of personalized health education stems from the growing recognition of the need for patient-centered care approaches, particularly in geriatric populations, where such interventions could lead to improved health outcomes. Our study aims to evaluate the effects of personalized health education on elderly patients with chronic diseases in a general practice context. The initiation of this study is grounded in the increasing acknowledgment of patient-centered care's significance, especially in geriatric demographics. We hypothesize that personalized health education interventions could significantly enhance health outcomes in this patient group. Methods: We conducted a randomized controlled trial involving 126 elderly patients with chronic diseases, assigning them equally to receive either standard care or standard care supplemented with personalized health education. The effectiveness of this education was measured through outcomes related to cognition, self-care, health literacy, psychological and physical health, quality of life, and prognosis. In our study, we executed a randomized controlled trial encompassing 126 elderly patients diagnosed with a range of chronic diseases. These participants were evenly divided into two groups: one receiving standard care and the other receiving standard care enhanced with personalized health education. The study spanned over a specified period, during which the impact of the personalized health education was meticulously evaluated. To comprehensively measure the effectiveness of the personalized health education, we employed a variety of tools and scales. These instruments were specifically chosen to assess changes in cognition, self-care abilities, health literacy, and psychological and physical health. Additionally, we evaluated the quality of life and prognosis of these patients, aiming to capture the holistic impact of the intervention. This approach ensured a thorough and nuanced understanding of how personalized health education influences the health outcomes of elderly patients with chronic diseases. Results: The intervention group demonstrated significant improvements across all measured outcomes compared to the control group, highlighting the efficacy of personalized health education in enhancing comprehensive health parameters in geriatric patients with chronic conditions. In our study, the intervention group, which received personalized health education, exhibited notable improvements in several key areas compared to the control group. Specifically, there was a marked enhancement in cognition and health literacy, with patients showing improved understanding and management of their conditions. Additionally, significant gains were observed in the quality of life, indicating that the tailored health education effectively addressed the holistic needs of geriatric patients with chronic diseases. These specific findings underscore the substantial impact of personalized health education in improving critical health outcomes in this patient population. Conclusion: Personalized health education in geriatric chronic disease management significantly betters disease comprehension, health literacy, self-care, psychological well-being, and physical health while also lowering the risk of adverse events. This study underscores the value of patient-centered educational strategies in chronic disease care for the elderly.Our study conclusively demonstrates that personalized health education plays a pivotal role in managing chronic diseases among the elderly. It significantly improves disease comprehension, health literacy, self-care capabilities, psychological well-being, and physical health. Furthermore, it contributes to a reduced risk of adverse health events. These findings emphasize the critical importance of integrating patient-centered educational strategies into general practice care for the elderly. By doing so, we can enhance their overall well-being and quality of life, making personalized health education an essential component in the holistic care of elderly patients with chronic conditions. This approach not only aligns with the principles of modern geriatric care but also sets a benchmark for the future of chronic disease management in older populations.
Design and Implementation of Behavior Analysis and Risk Identification for Stroke Patients under Medical Technology Intelligentization

Abstract:This study aimed to explore behavior analysis and risk identification for stroke patients under medical technology intelligentization, to establish a design and implementation of risk control and post-event recovery. A total of 80 stroke patients from 2019 to 2021 were selected using service design thinking combined with patient behavior as the guiding principle. The study used smart device monitoring modules and balance monitoring applications to monitor the daily behavior and post-event behavior of stroke patients and used intelligent recognition and analysis of risk behavior to develop interventions for post-event recovery services. The conclusion is that by combining service design thinking with patient behavior as the guiding principle, medical technology advancements in the field of intelligentization have the potential to greatly impact stroke patient care by enabling behavior analysis and risk identification. By utilizing smart device monitoring modules and balance monitoring applications, healthcare professionals can gather valuable data to understand better the behaviors and risks associated with stroke patients. This approach can provide a forward-looking reminder for risky behaviors and intervene in stroke patients' behaviors, reducing the risk of stroke recurrence.

Abstract:Introduction: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disease that seriously impairs patients' quality of life, and increases the burden of patients and caregivers. Both drugs and exercise can alleviate its motor and non-motor symptoms, improving the quality of life for PD patients. Telehealth, an increasingly popular tool, makes rehabilitation accessible at home, overcoming the inconvenience of traffic and scheduling. Care-PD is a phone application designed for rehabilitation training, which provides Tai Chi and stretching exercises through tutorial videos as well as an online evaluation system. In this protocol, we will explore the efficacy of Tai Chi and stretching exercises as a PD rehabilitation therapy based on the smartphone application Care-PD. Methods and Analysis: A double-blind, parallel randomized controlled trial will be conducted in this study. The recruitment, intervention, and evaluation processes will be implemented through the Care-PD application. Persons with PD will fill out questionnaires on Activities of Daily Living (ADL), upload the latest case report, and sign the informed consent form in the application. Afterward, doctors and researchers will screen and enroll 180 participants who will be randomly (1:1:1) assigned to Tai Chi group, stretching exercises group, or control group. The subjects will participate in a 1-h exercise session three times per week for 12 weeks, ending with another 4 weeks of follow-up study. Each exercise session includes 10 min of warm-up, 45 min of exercise, and 5 min of cool-down. The primary outcomes are Motor Aspects of Experiences of Daily Living and the 39-item Parkinson's disease Questionnaire. The secondary outcomes include the 9-item Wearing-Off Questionnaire, the Freezing of Gait Questionnaire, the Caregiver Strain Index, Non-motor Experiences of Daily Living, ADL, and Morse Fall Scale. All assessments will be performed at baseline, week 12 and 16. Discussion: Care-PD integrates subject recruitment, intervention, and evaluation, providing a new perspective on clinical rehabilitation for persons with PD. This study will evaluate the efficacy of Tai Chi and stretching exercises on patients' quality of life and disease progression based on a smartphone application. We aim to provide a new rehabilitation training platform for persons with PD. Ethics and Dissemination: This study was approved by the Scientific Research Ethics Committee (102772020RT132) of Shanghai University of Sport. Data collection begins after the approval of the ethics committee. The participants must sign an informed consent form before enrollment. The results will be published in relevant journals, seminars, and be disseminated among rehabilitation practitioners and patients with PD.
Improvements of sleep quality and QOL by Roy Adaptation Model in nursing of patients with Parkinson’s disease

Abstract:Objective: This study was designed to explore the improvements of sleep quality and QOL by implementing the Roy Adaptation Model for nursing of patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Methods: In total, 90 PD patients were included as the study subjects and were divided into 2 groups by a Random Number Table. The control group (n=45) was given routine nursing care, while the observation group (n=45) was subject to nursing intervention measures based on the Roy Adaptation Model. All patients were assessed for QOL, sleep quality and improvements in motor functions of their extremities via Parkinson’s Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire (PDQL), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Fugl-Meyer Motor Assessment Scale Balance Subscale (FM-B), during and 1 month after they were hospitalized; additionally, changes in iron content of the lenticular nucleus were compared before and after intervention. Results: Before nursing, no statistical difference was observed between the 2 groups in terms of PDQL, PSQI, FM-B, magnetic sensitivity of the lenticular nucleus and substantia nigra (P>0.05). One month after nursing, the observation group exceeded the control group after a marked decrease in PDQL and PSQI, and an elevation in FM-N (P<0.05); both groups reported marked decrease in brain magnetic sensitivity, which was more prominent in the observation group (P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was slightly lower than that of in the control group (P>0.05). Conclusion: During treatment, the adoption of the Roy Adaptation Model to nurse PD patients has the advantages of alleviating sleep disorders, promoting absorption and removal of iron in brain, and improving function of extremities, QOL and treatment safety.

Abstract:AIM To explore a new model consisted of clinician and clinical pharmacists combination clinicby taking the compliance of patients with Parkinson's disease as an example.METHODS Through the follow-up compliance before and after treatment in patients with Parkinson's disease using combined treatment mode of outpatient clinicians-pharmacists,and compliance with Morisky questionnaire,the patients compliance questionnaire Morisky scores change were found and statistical analysis was done.RESULTS Patients in the clinical model combined with clinicians and pharmacists compliance questionnaire before and after treatment Morisky score of 0 points (compliance) increased from 14 to 49,score of 3 or 4 points (poor compliance) from 26 to 6.Age,payment methods and Hoehn-Yehr classification did not affect the patient's compliance with medication.The culture degree,new mode intervention affected the medication compliance.CONCLUSION The combination of clinician and clinical pharmacists in outpatient service has obvious improvement on patient compliance,and is worthy of further promotion.
The acceptance of traditional Chinese medicine among patients with Parkinson's disease: A hospital survey

Abstract:Objective: The efficacy of medications for Parkinson's disease (PD) tend to decline over time, which has a serious impact on patients' health and quality of life. To some extent, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) can resolve the distressing problem of ineffective dopaminergic medication in PD patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the attitude, acceptance, and independent predictors of TCM in PD patients admitted to the outpatient department of a tertiary hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional study of PD patients was conducted in the outpatient department of a large tertiary hospital in Beijing from March 2022 to June 2023. A self-report questionnaire was developed to investigate PD patients' attitudes and acceptance of TCM based on the questionnaire. Multivariate logistic regression analyses were also performed to further clarify the independent predictors influencing patients' adoption of TCM therapy. Results: A total of 397 patients completed the questionnaire, of which 78.09% were willing to be treated with TCM and 21.91% indicated that they were not willing to use TCM. Multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that several parameters were correlated with a patient's willingness to include TCM in their therapeutic regime. These included education level of a bachelor's degree (odds ratio [OR) = 8.554; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 4.112-17.794; P < 0.001, vs junior high school education), living in an urban setting (OR = 8.022; 95% CI: 4.577-14.060; P < 0.001, vs rural), having other underlying diseases (OR = 5.126; 95% CI: 3.078-8.537; P < 0.001, vs none), having previously used TCM (OR = 3.083; 95% CI: 1.852-5.134; P < 0.001, vs not used), believing that TCM therapy is safe (OR = 3.530; 95% CI: 1.446-8.616; P = 0.006, vs not thought), believing that TCM therapy is effective (OR = 3.859; 95% CI: 1.482-10.047; P = 0.006, vs not understood), and being willing to discuss ongoing TCM therapy with an attending physician (OR = 62.468; 95% CI: 30.350-128.574; P < 0.001, vs not informed). Conclusion: This study initially investigated the acceptance, attitude, and independent predictors of TCM use among PD patients. To expand the prevalence of TCM use among patients with PD, we recommend to broadening the public outreach for TCM via contemporary means of Internet and broadcast communication, enhancing access to TCM services in rural communities, and strengthening the communication between doctors and patients. MoveONParkinson: developing a personalized motivational solution for Parkinson's disease management

Abstract:Introduction: Despite the effectiveness of exercise-based interventions on symptom management and disease progression, many people with Parkinson's Disease (PwPD) do not exercise regularly. In line with the ubiquitous use of digital health technology, the MoveONParkinson digital solution was developed, comprising a Web Platform and a Mobile App with a Conversational Agent (CA). The interface features were designed based on the principles of Social Cognitive Theory with the goal of fostering behavior change in PwPD for sustained exercise participation and improved disease management. Methods: Using a mixed methods approach, this study aimed to collect feedback, assess the acceptability of the Mobile App and the Web Platform, and evaluate the usability of the latter. Quantitative data, which included questionnaire responses and the System Usability Scale (SUS) scores, were analyzed using descriptive statistics, heatmaps, and correlation matrices. Qualitative data, comprising semi-structured and thinking-aloud interview transcripts, were subjected to an inductive thematic analysis. A total of 28 participants were involved in the study, comprising 20 physiotherapists (average age: 34.50 ± 10.4), and eight PwPD (average age: 65.75 ± 8.63; mean Hoehn & Yahr: 2.0 (± 0.76)). Results: Three main themes emerged from the thematic analysis of the interviews, namely: Self-management (Theme 1), User Engagement (Theme 2), and Recommendations (Theme 3). The assessment of the Mobile App and the CA (mean score: 4.42/5.0 ± 0.79) suggests that PwPD were able to navigate this interface without notable difficulties. The mean SUS score of 79.50 (± 12.40%) with a 95% confidence interval ranging from 73.70 to 85.30, reveal good usability. Discussion: These findings indicate a high level of acceptability of the MoveONParkinson digital solution, serving as a foundation for assessing its impact on exercise engagement and, subsequently, its influence on symptom management and quality of life of PwPD.
Effectiveness of Yijinjing on cognitive and motor functions in patients with Parkinson's disease: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial

Abstract:Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder that affects motor and non-motor functions, significantly reducing patients' quality of life. No effective drug-based treatments are known to solve this problem. Non-drug therapies such as Yijinjing exercise have shown potential in improving cognitive and motor functions in PD patients. However, solid evidence must still be provided to support their clinical efficacy. This study aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Yijinjing exercise interventions in PD patients and explore the underlying mechanisms between the cognitive and motor functions in PD. Methods: This is a single-center randomized controlled trial in which 96 eligible PD patients will be randomly assigned to receive either Yijinjing exercise group or brisk walking group or control group in a ratio of 1:1:1. Interventions (Yijinjing exercise or brisk walking training, 40 min per session) will be provided in 3 sessions per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) for 12 weeks, with a total of 36 sessions. After the treatment, there will be a 1-month follow-up period. The primary outcomes will be measured using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale motor section (UPDRS-III). Secondary outcomes include balance function, executive function, walking function, sleep quality, and quality of life. Additionally, the prefrontal cerebral and sensorimotor cortex blood oxygen signal level will be collected to explore the underlying mechanisms. All outcomes will be assessed at baseline, at the end of 12 weeks of treatment and after an additional 1-month follow-up period. Discussion: The results of the study protocol will provide high-quality evidence for the potential of intervention measures based on the Yijinjing exercise to improve the cognitive and activity levels of Parkinson's disease patients. We envision the Yijinjing exercise as a non-pharmacological family activity that can provide a new and more effective method for the treatment of Parkinson's disease patients or those at risk. Clinical trial registration: This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Second Rehabilitation Hospital of Shanghai (2020-05-01). The trial has been registered in the China Clinical Trials Registry (ChiCTR2200055636).

Influence of Nurse-Led Health Education on Self-Management Ability, Satisfaction, and Compliance of Elderly Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Based on Knowledge, Belief, and Practice Model

Abstract:Objective. Knowledge, belief, and behavior model (knowledge-attitude-practice (KAP)) is known as a cognitive model. Health education is important to the prognosis of patients, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients. However, the investigation regarding health education based on the KAP model is few. Thus, this work is aimed at analyzing the influence of nurse-led health education on self-management ability, satisfaction, and compliance of elderly patients with COPD based on knowledge, belief, and practice model. Methods. 60 elderly patients with COPD cured in our hospital from January 2019 to April 2021 were enrolled for the study. The patients were randomly assigned to control group ( n = 30 ) and study group ( n = 30 ). The former group received routine nursing, and the latter group accepted health education based on "knowledge, belief, and practice" model. Finally, the scores of nursing satisfaction, KAP score, compliance rate, self-management level, pulmonary function, and life quality were compared in the two groups. Results. The nursing satisfaction of the study group (100.00%) was higher than that (83.33%) of the control group ( P < 0.05 ). The scores of knowledge, attitude, and behavior were remarkably higher in the study group than in the control group after nursing ( P < 0.05 ). Moreover, KAP scores also significantly increased in the study group after nursing. The compliance rate of the study group (93.33%) was higher than that of the control group (66.67%) ( P < 0.05 ). After nursing, the scores of symptom management, daily life management, emotion management, information management, and management efficiency were higher in the study group than in the control group ( P < 0.05 ). In addition, pulmonary functions were improved in the two groups following nursing. Compared with the control groups, the 6 min walking distance, FEV1%, and FEV1/FVC% were higher in the study group ( P < 0.05 ). After nursing, the scores of life quality were reduced in the two groups. The scores of physiological function, psychological function, social function, and health self-cognition were lower in the study group than in the control group ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion. Based on the model of knowledge, belief, and practice, nurse-led health education can successfully enhance the self-management ability, satisfaction, and compliance of elderly COPD patients.

Abstract:Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease mainly caused by motor disorders, mostly occurring in middle-aged and elderly people. The incidence of PD has been increasing year by year, and up to now, PD is still an incurable disease. However, more and more data show that early implementation of deep brain stimulation and early medical, psychological, social and other interventions can significantly improve the quality of life and prolong the survival time of patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Mental health guidance, cognitive behavioral intervention, psychogenic therapy and scientific nursing for PD patients may improve the functional recovery after Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease. This paper discusses the nursing and psychological intervention methods of deep brain stimulation (DBS) implantation in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD), aiming to scientifically discuss the clinical effect of nursing psychological intervention and improve the quality of life in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Basic nursing and psychological cognitive behavior intervention measures for PD patients can improve the daily activity ability of PD patients, improve the outcome of PD patients, and effectively improve the satisfaction of PD patients with nursing work, which has certain clinical promotion significance.

Abstract:Abstract Background Current evidence on chronic conditions favors promotion of health behaviors as a mean to positively impact health outcomes. In Parkinson’s disease, performing health behaviors is indicated as a means to fight the long-lasting burden of the disease. Understanding actual engagement in health behaviors and patient activation and their association to function and health-related quality of life is therefore important. Our objectives were, among people with Parkinson’s disease: (1) to characterize health behaviors including utilization of rehabilitative treatments, physical activity, and patient activation levels, and (2) to test the associations between these health behaviors and health outcomes. Methods A cross-sectional study of 88 people with Parkinson’s disease (age 66.84 ± 8.8) was conducted. Participants answered questionnaires measuring health behaviors including utilization of health professions treatments, physical activity, patient activation, and health outcomes consisting of function and health-related quality of life. Linear regression models were conducted to test associations between measured health behaviors, function and health-related quality of life. Results Participants rarely engage in rehabilitative treatments, but showed high levels of patient activation. Controlled by demographics and disease severity, physical activity and patient activation were associated with function (b = 0.41, p < .001; b = 0.2, p = .02, respectively) and physical activity but not patient activation, which was associated with health-related quality of life (b = 0.19, p = .03). There was also interaction effects of physical activity and non-motor symptoms, and physical activity and motor symptoms on health-related quality of life (b = 0.19, p = .02 and b = − 0.22, p = .01, respectively). Conclusions In respect to their potential health-related benefits for people with Parkinson’s disease, health professionals’ treatments are underutilized. Findings supported the importance of health behaviors for maintaining function and health-related quality of life among people with Parkinson’s disease. They also show a differential contribution of motor and non-motor symptoms to the association between physical activity and quality of life. It is suggested that policy makers encourage opportunities for physical activity tailored for people with Parkinson’s disease and adopt a proactive stance towards enhancing awareness and use of rehabilitation services. The impact and feasibility of a brief, virtual, educational intervention for home healthcare professionals on Parkinson's Disease and Related Disorders: pilot study of I SEE PD Home

Abstract:Background: Individuals with advanced Parkinson's Disease (PD) and Parkinson-related disorders (PRD) are frequently referred for home allied therapies and nursing care, yet home healthcare professionals have limited training in PD/PRD. While recognizing the need for such care, patients and families report home healthcare professionals are unfamiliar with these conditions, which may be driven by neurophobia and may contribute to suboptimal care and early termination of services. We sought to determine the feasibility and effects of a virtual, multimodal educational intervention on PD knowledge, confidence, and empathy among home health professionals. Methods: Home health nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and physical therapy assistants, and speech-language pathologists participated in a daylong, virtual symposium on advanced PD/PRD, combining focused lectures, discipline-specific breakout sessions, immersive virtual reality vignettes, and interactive panels with both patients and families, and movement disorders and home healthcare experts. Participants completed online pre- and post-symposium surveys including: demographics; PD/PRD knowledge (0-10 points possible); empathy (Interpersonal Reactivity Index); and 10-point scales of confidence with and attitudes towards individuals with PD/PRD, respectively. Pre-post intervention changes and effect sizes were evaluated with paired t-tests and Cohen's d. We performed qualitative analyses of post-symposium free-text feedback using a grounded theory approach to identify participants' intentions to change their practice. Results: Participants had a mean improvement of 3.1 points on the PD/PRD knowledge test (p < 0.001, d = 1.97), and improvement in confidence managing individuals with PD/PRD (p = 0.0003, d = .36), and no change in empathy. The interactive, virtual format was rated as effective by 95%. Common themes regarding symposium-motivated practice change included: interdisciplinary collaboration; greater involvement and weighting of the patient and caregiver voice in care plans; attention to visit scheduling in relation to patient function; recognition and practical management of the causes of sudden change in PD/PRD, including infections and orthostatic hypotension. Conclusions: A virtual, multimodal, brief educational pilot intervention improved PD/PRD-specific knowledge and confidence among home healthcare nurses and allied health professionals. Future studies are necessary to test the short- and long-term effects of this intervention more broadly and to investigate the impact of this education on patient and caregiver outcomes.
Breaking ground: nursing-led approach to alleviating constipation in Parkinson's disease

Abstract:Background: Constipation is one of the most common non-motor symptoms in PD patients, and the constipation, can appear before motor symptoms. Incorrect treatment of constipation in PD patients can result in colonic volvulus and pseudo intestinal obstruction, as well as a reduction in the therapeutic effect of anti-PD drugs due to absorption issues. There is, however, no comprehensive and scientific nursing intervention plan for PD patients' constipation who are constipated. Methods: A multi-disciplinary nursing research group of five people was established to construct the first draft of intervention plan through literature review. We chose 15 experts from 7 universities and tertiary hospitals spread over 5 provinces (cities), including 4 neurologists, 9 clinical nursing specialists in neurology, 1 dietician, and 1 rehabilitator. Two rounds of consultations were held from April to July 2022 with 15 experts to screen and revise the indicators at each level, confirming their importance and feasibility at each level. Results: There were three primary indicators (pre-intentional stage, intentional stage, and action stage) in the two rounds of expert correspondence, nine secondary indicators (disease risk perception, adverse consequence expectation, self-efficacy and intention of action; action plan, coping plan and coping self-efficacy; produce healthy behaviors, maintain healthy behaviors, recover behaviors and recover self-efficacy), and 22 tertiary indicators. Conclusions: After the implementation of two rounds of Delphi method, the final formed constipation intervention program for PD patients provides the basis for clinical nursing practice, which has the characteristics of convenience, comprehensiveness, dependence, scientific and feasibility. Therefore, it has application and promotion value.

Abstract:The Nurse Professional Development Model (NPD) has been utilized to improve quality of care for several conditions. Patients with Parkinson’s Disease (PD) are susceptible to higher risks while in the hospital. Educational efforts for this patient population are challenged by the small, disbursed number of patients as well as increased turn-over and reliance on temporary nursing staff. To properly care for this patient group, any education has to be hospital wide and ongoing for maintenance of competency. We have used the NPD Model to initiate education for new incoming nurses as well as for continued education for a program that requires hospital-wide reach. Our utilization of the NPD Model for this high risk, low volume patient population has helped us improve the safety of this patient population in the hospital. With this manuscript we detail the need and the educational platform with the hope of it serving as a reference for other institutions facing similar challenges.

Abstract:Objective To build an intelligent cloud inpatient health education platform and explore the application effect with diabetes patients preliminary. Methods The public cloud and private cloud computing technology were integrated to build an intelligent cloud inpatient health education platform. The platform has three ports:clinical nursing,patient management and nursing management. It has the functions of sending diabetes multimedia education content,receiving health education evaluation feedback,and grading health education management. A diabetes health education resource library was built,taking diabetic patients as a pilot and classified them based on types. In addition to in-person education,nurses sent health education information to patients via the platform according to patients’ needs and path-based forms and make sure patients read it. The head nurse checked nurses’ implementation and health education feedback through the platform. The study compared the nurses’ time spent on patient health education and patients’ satisfaction before（30 patients from September to November 2018 as the control group） and after（30 patients from September to November 2020 as the test group）the application of the platform. Also,25 nurses were surveyed with a questionnaire about their satisfaction with the platform. Results After application of the platform,time of nursing health education was（12.25±7.38） min,which was significantly lower compared to（26.36±8.07） min before using the platform（t=6.933,P＜0.001）. No significant difference was founded in patients’ satisfaction of health education（43.13 ±4.63 vs 41.50 ±6.28,t=2.406,P=0.257）.The average satisfaction score from nurses of the platform was ≥4. Conclusion The intelligent cloud inpatient health education platform is helpful in reducing the time spent on health education and improving the patients’ satisfaction. Besides,nurses were satisfied with the intelligent cloud inpatient health education platform.
Effect of Cognitive-behavioral Change Model-based Online Health Education in Hypertension Management

Abstract:Background In China, a country owning a large number of hypertensive patients, offline management is still a major approach for hypertension prevention and control, but the efficiency and effectiveness of this approach are unsatisfactory. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a closed-loop hypertension management path using online management approaches actively explored based on cognitive-behavioral models. Objective To assess the effect of cognitive-behavioral change model-based online health education in the management of hypertension. Methods A total of 122 essential hypertension outpatients and inpatients were recruited from General Practice Department, General Hospital of Medical University of Ningxia Medical University from November 2018 to October 2019, and randomly divided into online management group (n=61) and off-line management group (n=61) . Off-line management group received routine management. Online management group received online health education (including systematic courses and personalized self-management information in line with the five stages of behavior transformation of hypertension patients provided via the WeChat platform for gradually changing their health-related behaviors) based on the cognition-behavioral change model (a model built upon improved knowledge-attitudes-behavior model, health belief model, and transtheoretical model) . Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and health-related behaviors at baseline and 12 weeks after intervention were compared between the groups. Results The average SBP levels at baseline demonstrated no significant difference between the groups (P<0.05) . After intervention, the average SBP level decreased significantly in both groups (P<0.05) , and it decreased more significantly in the online management group (P<0.05) . Two groups showed no significant differences in the prevalence of self-monitoring blood pressure, taking medications, eating a diet and exercising as well as taking actions to improve psychological state according to the doctor's advice at baseline (P<0.05) . After intervention, the prevalence of self-monitoring blood pressure according to the doctor's advice was significantly increased in the online management group (P<0.05) although the prevalence of other four of the above-mentioned health-related behaviors was still similar in both groups (P<0.05) . Conclusion This hypertension management approach developed based on mobile health technologies and the cognition-behavioral change model could help general practitioners to effectively manage hypertension patients, which will contribute to the improvement of work efficiency of general practitioners, and the achievement of long-term preservation and real-time analysis of patient management data. So this management is worthy of application and promotion.

Abstract:Objective: Guided by Behavior Change Wheel (BCW) theory, a rehabilitation nursing intervention program for patients after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was constructed. This study aimed to explore the impact of this intervention program on the negative emotions, sleep quality, and quality of life of patients after PCI. Methods: Patients with coronary heart disease after PCI who visited the cardiology department in our hospital from September 2022 to February 2024 were selected as the research subjects. The patients were divided into two groups according to the order of the operation time: 57 cases in the conventional group and 56 in the BCW group. The systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and resting heart rate (RHR) of the two groups before the administration (T1) and at the end of 3 month administration (T2) were evaluated. The Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale, Pittsburgh sleep quality index, and quality of life scale were used in measuring the anxiety, depression, sleep quality, and quality of life levels of the two groups of patients at two-time points. Results: A total of 113 cases were included: 57 cases in the conventional group and 56 in the BCW group. The BCW group had larger improvements in RHR and blood pressure than the conventional group (p < 0.05). The SAS and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) scores of the BCW group were significantly lower than those in the conventional group (p < 0.05). After nursing based on the BCW model was implemented, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores of the patients in the BCW group were lower than those in the conventional group (p < 0.001). After 3 months of administration, the SF-36 total score and other dimensional scores in the BCW group were higher than those in the conventional group (p 0.05). Conclusion: Intervention programs based on BCW theory may help to reduce patients' depression and anxiety levels, potentially exerting positive effects that improve RHR and cardiac function in patients after coronary intervention and improving patients' sleep and life quality.
