Abstract:BackgroundThe aim of this meta-analysis was to gather current data and evaluate not only the risk of gastrointestinal (GI) perforation with bevacizumab, but also the potential risk factors for this adverse event.Materials and methodsWe carried out a literature search in PubMed for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) reported from January 2000 to December 2013. Summary incidence, relative risks (RRs) and 95 % confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated using random-effects or fixed-effects models based on the heterogeneity of the included studies.ResultsA total of 26,833 patients from 33 RCTs were included in the meta-analysis. Bevacizumab-containing therapy significantly increased the risk of developing all-grade (RR 3.35, 95 % CI 2.35–4.79, P < 0.001) and fatal GI perforation (RR 3.08, 95%CI: 1.04–9.08, P = 0.042). On subgroup analysis, no significant risk differences were found based on bevacizumab dosage, treatment duration, treatment line, type of clinical trial and median age. When stratified by tumor types, a significantly increased risk of GI perforation with bevacizumab was observed in colorectal cancer (RR 2.84, 95% CI 1.43–5.61, P = 0.003), gynecologic cancer (RR 3.37, 95% CI 1.71–6.62, P < 0.001) and prostate cancer (RR 6.01, 95% CI 1.78–20.28, P = 0.004). Additionally, the use of bevacizumab significantly increased the risk of GI perforation when used in conjunction with taxanes (RR 3.09, 95% CI 1.92–4.96, P < 0.001) or oxaliplatin (RR 2.85, 95% CI 1.07–7.57, P = 0.036).ConclusionsBevacizumab treatment is associated with a significantly increased risk of developing GI perforation, and clinicians should be aware of the risks of GI perforation with the administration of this drug in cancer patients.

Bevacizumab-associated Bowel Perforation：a Case Report and Literature Review

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the incidence, clinical manifestations, mechanism, risk factors and management of bevacizumab-associated bowel perforations.Methods: A stage IV colon cancer patient with bevacizumab-associated bowel perforation 442 days after the initiation of chemotherapy and bevacizumab was reported. And relevant research literatures were reviewed.Results and Conclulion :The incidence of bevacizumab-associated bowel perforations is low. Abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, and fever could be complained by the patients. Although the mechanism is unknown now, many risk factors would contribute to the occurrence of this kind of severe adverse events. The detection and management of these patients should be emphasized.

Abstract:Abstract Bevacizumab has been used as an effective drug for ovarian cancer. However, serious adverse effects, such as gastrointestinal perforation, can occur. Spontaneous gastrointestinal perforation is an uncommon, yet life-threatening complication related to bevacizumab administration. We present the case of a 65-year-old Caucasian female who presented with acute abdomen 10 days after the first administration of bevacizumab for ovarian cancer treatment, and she was diagnosed intraoperatively with a massive duodenal perforation. Bowel perforation after bevacizumab administration is a serious and potentially lethal complication. Careful follow-up of the patients is necessary in order to detect any signs of this condition in time.
Bevacizumab is associated with a higher gastrointestinal/genitourinary fistula or perforation risk in cervical cancer patients undergoing pelvic radiotherapy

Abstract:Background Bevacizumab serves as an effective treatment in cervical cancer patients with metastatic, recurrent, or advanced disease. However, gastrointestinal (GI)/genitourinary (GU) toxicities have been observed after bevacizumab treatment. Radiotherapy (RT) is the mainstay of treatment of cervical cancer. Objectives To investigate the risk of GI/GU toxicities with bevacizumab plus RT compared with RT alone in cervical cancer patients. Search Strategy In this meta‐analysis, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane databases were searched from inception to September 25, 2022. Selection Criteria Cohort studies evaluating the association between bevacizumab and GI/GU fistula or perforation in irradiated metastatic, recurrent, or advanced cervical cancer patients. Data Collection and Analysis Results are expressed as odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI). The inconsistency test (I2) was used to assess heterogeneity. Egger's regression test with a two‐tailed P value was used to evaluate publication bias. Main Results Four cohort studies met the inclusion criteria with a total of 597 women included. There was a significant association between GI fistula/perforation and GU fistula/perforation in irradiated cervical cancer patients receiving bevacizumab (OR 4.03 [95% CI: 1.76–9.20] and OR 4.71 [95% CI: 1.51–14.70], respectively). Conclusions The bevacizumab‐containing regimen was associated with an increased risk of GI or GU toxicities in cervical cancer individuals undergoing pelvic RT. These results suggest the bevacizumab‐associated benefits and risk should be better weighted to reach an optimal treatment strategy. Further investigation on optimal dosage and timing of bevacizumab and RT is vital to minimize the adverse events and maximize the benefits.

Incidence of gastrointestinal perforation associated with bevacizumab in combination with neoadjuvant chemotherapy as first-line treatment of advanced ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer: analysis of a Japanese healthcare claims database

Abstract:Objective: To assess the incidence of bevacizumab-associated gastrointestinal (GI) perforation during first-line treatment of patients with ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in Japanese real-world clinical practice. Methods: A retrospective study was conducted using a healthcare claims database owned by Medical Data Vision Co., Ltd. (study period, 2008-2020). Patients who initiated first-line treatment of ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer were identified and divided into NAC and primary debulking surgery (PDS) groups. The incidence of bevacizumab-associated GI perforation was compared within the NAC group and between the groups. Results: Paclitaxel + carboplatin (TC) was most commonly used as first-line treatment (39.5% and 59.6% in the NAC and PDS groups, respectively). TC + bevacizumab was used in 9.3% and 11.6% of patients in the NAC and PDS groups, respectively. In the NAC group receiving TC, the proportion of patients with risk factors for GI perforation was lower among patients with versus without concomitant bevacizumab. The incidence of GI perforation in the NAC group was 0.38% (1/266 patients) in patients receiving TC + bevacizumab and 0.18% (2/1,131 patients) in patients receiving TC without bevacizumab (risk ratio=2.13; 95% confidence interval [CI]=0.19 to 23.36; risk difference=0.20; 95% CI=-0.58 to 0.97). None of the 319 patients in the PDS group receiving TC + bevacizumab had GI perforation. Conclusion: No notable increase was observed in GI perforation associated with NAC containing bevacizumab. We conclude that bevacizumab is prescribed with sufficient care in Japan to avoid GI perforation.

Abstract:Rationale:Gallbladder perforation is a serious clinical condition and associated with high morbidity and mortality. A definitive diagnosis is contentious before surgery.Patient concerns:We herein report a case of perforation of the gallbladder neck secondary to chemotherapy and radiation for nasopharyngeal carcinoma patient.Diagnoses:Gallbladder perforation secondary to chemotherapy and radiation.Interventions:To decrease the mortality associated with gallbladder perforation, Laparoscopic cholecystectomy and peritoneal lavage were performed followed for gallbladder perforation patient because of chemotherapy and radiation.Outcomes:The patient recovered fully without serious complication and discharged on the 10th postoperative day. A pathological examination of the resected gallbladder revealed cholecystitis in the thinning of the neck.Lessons:Early diagnosis and surgical intervention of gallbladder perforation in relation to asopharyngeal carcinoma chemotherapy and radiation are of prime importance. The laparoscopic procedure is safe and feasible in the selected patients.

Abstract:Antiangiogenic chemotherapy is a common treatment option for patients with advanced ovarian cancer (OC) and has been proven to be effective and generally safe. Nevertheless, in rare cases, these drugs can give serious complications such as gastrointestinal perforations that can be even mortal or very difficult to treat and can heavily impact the clinical management. We present a rare case of bevacizumab-induced gastric perforation in a patient with advanced OC occurred during bevacizumab-including chemotherapy in an adjuvant setting. Surgical treatment was not possible due to the frailty of the clinical condition of the patient and the gastric perforation was successfully treated with endoscopic suturing.

Abstract:Background: Radiation necrosis is one of the complications of Gammaknife radiosurgery. The traditional treatment of radiation necrosis carries a high risk of failure, Bevacizumab is an antiangiogenic monoclonal antibody against vascular endothelial growth factor, a known mediator of cerebral edema. It can be used to successfully treat brain radiation necrosis.Patient Description: Two patients with a history of small cell lung cancer presented with metastatic disease to the brain. They underwent Gammaknife radiosurgery to brain metastases. Several months later, magnetic resonance imaging showed radiation necrosis with significant surrounding edema. The patients had a poor response to treatment with dexamethasone. They were eventually treated with bevacizumab (5 mg/kg every 2 weeks, 7.5 mg/kg every 3 weeks, respectively), and the treatment resulted in significant clinical and radiographic improvement.Conclusion: Bevacizumab can be successfully used to treat radiation necrosis induced by Gammaknife radiosurgery in patients with cerebral metastases. It is of particular benefit in patients with poor reaction to corticosteroids and other medications.

Abstract:Bevacizumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), was the first anti-angiogenic agent incorporated into metastatic colorectal cancer treatment strategies and demonstrated broad-spectrum anti-tumor efficacy. Commonly reported adverse events include hypertension, proteinuria, gastrointestinal perforation, bleeding, and thromboembolism. However, there are only a few reports on abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) as a complication of bevacizumab therapy. Given the high risk of fatal rupture with AAA, we present a case of bevacizumab-associated AAA to raise clinician awareness of this possible, rare, and serious adverse reaction.

Abstract:Colorectal cancer is the third most common type of cancer worldwide, with >1 million cases diagnosed each year. Gastrointestinal bleeding is a common complication of colorectal cancer and is usually associated with the erosion and hemorrhage of the primary tumor. However, in patients who undergo a radical hemicolectomy and do not develop local recurrence, gastrointestinal bleeding may be a result of medical treatments or comorbidities. Esophageal bleeding in such patients is rare. Here, a case of severe esophageal bleeding due to anti-angiogenesis therapy with bevacizumab, and chemotherapy with the FOLFIRI regimen (irinotecan, folinic acid and 5-fluorouracil) in a patient with colorectal cancer is reported, and the possible pathogenesis of this event is analyzed based on the existing literature, in order to provide a reference for such cases.
Clinical Study on the Safety of Bevacizumab in the Treatment of Patients with Advanced Colorectal Cancer

Abstract:Objective To study the safety of bevacizumab in the treatment of colorectal cancer,in order to provide some guidance for the clinical application.Methods A retrospective analysis of 72 patients with advanced colorectal cancer who were admitted to our hospital and treated with bevacizumab was conducteol.Adverse reactions and incidence of bevacizumab were col-lected.A single variable and multivariate analysis was used to determine the potential risk factors for the adverse reactions of bev-acizumab.Results A total of 72 patients were evaluable for safety.The most common adverse drug reactions were hypertension (12.5%),hemorrhage(12.5%),and proteinuria(8.3%).The incidence of serious adverse drug reactions was low: the inci-dence of bleeding was 1.4 %,the incidence of venous thromboembolism was 1.4 %,and the incidence of gastrointestinal perfora-tion was 1.4 %.The high risk factors of adverse drug reactions were identified by multivariate analysis.Conclusion Bevacizumab has a low incidence of serious adverse events.Patients with advanced or metastatic colorectal cancer have better safety and better tolerance to bevacizumab.
Safety of Bevacizumab with Chemotherapy in Treating Gastrointestinal Cancer

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate safety and efficacy of bevacizumab(AVASTIN ) plus chemotherapy for the treatment of gastrointestinal cancer patients.Methods:A retrospective study of 77 gastrointestinal(GI ) cancer patients treated with bevacizumab plus chemotherapy was performed.Patient information collected included previous disease history,signs,synptom and homological and biochemical profiles.Patients were followed up for eight weeks after the last treatment or death.Statistical tests were used for subgroup analysis. Results:All patients had locally advanced or metastatic GI cancer,who were not suitable for surgery.Their pathological diagnosis was adenocarcinoma,mucinous adenocarcinoma,or signet-ring cell carcinoma.Among these patients,there were 65 colorectal cancer patients and 12 gastric cancer patients.There were 36 male and 41 female patients with the median age of 49 years(26-76 years ).The incidence of all adverse events among these 77 patients was 89.6%(69/77 ).The incidence of adverse event(AE ) with grade 3/4 and SAE was 26.0%(20/77 ).Stratified analysis on AE with grade of 3 / 4 and SAE indicated that the incidence was 44.4%(4/9 ) in old-age group (65 years old and older ) and 23.5%(16 / 68 ) in young-age group(younger than 65 years old ).The incidence was 25%(9/36 ) in male patients and 26.0%(11 / 41 ) in female patients.The incidence was 30.6%(11 / 36 ) in the first-line therapy group and 22.0%(9/41 ) in the second or later line therapy group.There was no statistical difference between each group.For patients treated with bevacizumab plus two-agent chemotherapy,the incidence of AE was 50%～60%and most of them were hematological toxicity and gastrointestinal discomforts (such as nausea and vomiting).For bevacizumab combining with single-agent chemotherapy,the incidence of AEs was 5%～8%.There were 4 cases of hypertension,2 cases of proteinuria,4 cases of bleeding,and 2 cases of delayed wound healing.There was 1 case of S AEs, which might be related to the studied drug.Conclusion:The bevacizumab safety profile in this study was consistent with its safety profile in other clinical trials.The incidence of AE was not correlated with chemotherapy,gender or age.The bevacizumab related AE was rare and not accumulative with cytotoxic drug(s ).
Bevacizumab-Related Surgical Site Complication Despite Primary Tumor Resection in Colorectal Cancer Patients

Abstract:BackgroundCombining conventional systemic chemotherapy with the angiogenesis inhibitor bevacizumab is now recommended as a first treatment for metastatic colorectal neoplasms. The risk for short-term postoperative complications related to bevacizumab has been assessed. Late postoperative complications related to bevacizumab have also been suggested by preliminary reports.MethodsWe reviewed a cohort of 142 patients with previous surgery for primary colonic or rectal tumor and without evidence of local recurrence, receiving bevacizumab for metastatic disease.ResultsFour patients experienced a late surgical site complication related to bevacizumab. Common features were rectal location, low anastomosis, and preoperative irradiation. Combining these three factors, the risk of a bevacizumab-related complication was 4 in 27 (14.8%); if previous history of postoperative leakage was reported, the risk was raised to 2 in 4. No complications occurred in colonic location or the non-irradiated patients. The mechanism of these complications could be ischemic lesion in post-irradiated tissues involving anastomoses.ConclusionWe conclude that angiogenesis inhibitors should be carefully considered for patients having low colorectal anastomosis and previous irradiation.

Celiac trunk aortic dissection induced by bevacizumab therapy for rectal cancer: A case report

Abstract:Rationale: Bevacizumab (Bev) is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets vascular endothelial growth factor A and is primarily used for the treatment of various solid tumors. Aortic dissection (AD) is a severe vascular disease caused by the tearing of the intimal layer of the aorta or bleeding within the aortic wall, resulting in the separation of different layers of the aortic wall. However, the pathogenesis is not fully understood. Some studies have suggested that Bev treatment is associated with the occurrence of AD. Patient concerns: A 67-year-old Chinese male was diagnosed with rectal cancer accompanied by liver and lung metastasis. Three days after starting combined chemotherapy with Bev, the patient developed persistent abdominal pain. Abdominal CT scan revealed celiac trunk AD in the abdominal aorta. Diagnoses: The patient was diagnosed with rectal cancer accompanied by liver and lung metastases. Abdominal CT tomography revealed a celiac trunk AD. Interventions: Somatostatin combined with valsartan was used to control blood pressure. The patient was subsequently referred for vascular surgery and underwent an abdominal aortic angiography. Conservative treatment was continued. Outcomes: Three months after the initiation of treatment, follow-up abdominal CT scans showed stability in the condition of celiac trunk AD, with no abdominal pain or hypertension. There were no signs of worsening dissection, aneurysm formation, or inadequate perfusion of end organs. Lessons: There may be a connection between Bev and elevated blood pressure as well as celiac trunk AD.

A case report of vesicovaginal fistula following Bevacizumab without pelvic disease and radiochemotherapy

Abstract:Background: Bevacizumab has gradually become an important adjuvant therapy for many advanced tumors including lung cancer. Although it can improve the survival of many cancer patients, it also brings many adverse reactions, including fistula formation. However, vesicovaginal fistula in the absence of pelvic lesions and radiation history has not been reported before.Case Description: We diagnosed an advanced non-small cell lung cancer patient with left pleural, bone and liver metastases in February 2017. She then received Gefitinib-targeted therapy. Ten months later, liver metastases achieved complete remission and the remaining metastases partial response. Then she received whole brain radiotherapy (30 Gy/10 F) for new brain metastases, and Oxitinib was used to replace Gefitinib. In March 2018, the patient underwent TVT-O sling surgery for stress urinary incontinence, and recovered well after the operation. The patient was treated with Bevacizumab at 400 mg once every 3 weeks in March 2019 because of the poor efficacy of Oxitinib. After using bevacizumab for 3 months, the patient complained about frequent urination, urgency, dysuria, and vaginal leakage. The presence of vesicovaginal fistula was confirmed by color Doppler ultrasound and positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET-CT). After discontinuation of Bevacizumab, urine leakage was disappeared.Conclusions: Bevacizumab can also cause vesicovaginal fistula, even without pelvic lesions and radiotherapy. Previous pelvic surgery and foreign materials implantation may be factors that promote the formation of vesicovaginal fistula.

Risk/benefit profile of bevacizumab in metastatic colon cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract:Background: Bevacizumab, an anti vascular endothelial growth factor antibody is licensed in several tumours and widely used in colorectal cancer. However, bevacizumab has several adverse effects which may appear unexpectedly and differ according to the tumour. Aims: The aim of this work is to quantify the overall risk of bevacizumab-related side effects in patients affected by advanced colorectal cancer and to compare them with its overall benefit. Methods: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis investigating bevacizumab in metastatic colorectal cancer. Our primary endpoint was safety and secondary endpoints were overall survival and progression-free survival. The relative risks for side effects were calculated with their 95% confidence interval using the inverse of variance method. For statistically significant relative risks, number needed to harm were calculated. Results: We retrieved six out of 17 eligible papers encompassing 3385 patients. Only hypertension (relative risk 2.98 95% confidence interval 2.32-3.84), gastrointestinal perforations (relative risk 5.04 95% confidence interval 1.72-14.79) and bleeding (relative risk 2.07 95% confidence interval 1.19-3.62) were significantly increased. Bevacizumab significantly improved both overall survival (HR 0.80 95% confidence interval 0.71-0.91) and progression-free survival (hazard ratio (HR) 0.62 95% confidence interval 0.52-0.74). Number needed to treat for overall survival is 12, whilst number needed to harms ranges from 2 to 14.286. Conclusion: These results show that the benefits of the treatment with bevacizumab outweigh the toxicity that may occur: enough to justify its use in advanced colorectal cancer.

Abstract:The objective of this study was to discover clinical and pharmacogenetic factors associated with bevacizumab-related gastrointestinal hemorrhage in Cancer and Leukemia Group B (Alliance) 90401. Patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer received docetaxel and prednisone ± bevacizumab. Patients were genotyped using Illumina HumanHap610-Quad and assessed using cause-specific risk for association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and gastrointestinal hemorrhage. In 1008 patients, grade 2 or higher gastrointestinal hemorrhage occurred in 9.5% and 3.8% of bevacizumab ( n = 503) and placebo ( n = 505) treated patients, respectively. Bevacizumab ( P < 0.001) and age ( P = 0.002) were associated with gastrointestinal hemorrhage. In 616 genetically estimated Europeans ( n = 314 bevacizumab and n = 302 placebo treated patients), grade 2 or higher gastrointestinal hemorrhage occurred in 9.6% and 2.0% of patients, respectively. One SNP (rs1478947; HR 6.26; 95% CI 3.19–12.28; P = 9.40 × 10 −8 ) surpassed Bonferroni-corrected significance. Grade 2 or higher gastrointestinal hemorrhage rate was 33.3% and 6.2% in bevacizumab-treated patients with the AA/AG and GG genotypes, versus 2.9% and 1.9% in the placebo arm, respectively. Prospective validation of these findings and functional analyses are needed to better understand the genetic contribution to treatment-related gastrointestinal hemorrhage.

Efficacy and Toxicity of Addition of Bevacizumab to Chemotherapy in Patients with Metastatic Colorectal Cancer.

Abstract:Background: Pre-treated patients with first-line treatment can be offered a second treatment with the aim of improving their poor clinical prognosis. The therapy of metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC) patients who did not respond to first-line therapy has limited treatment options. Recently, many studies have paid much attention to the efficacy of bevacizumab as an adjuvant treatment for metastatic colorectal cancer. Objectives: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of bevacizumab plus chemotherapy compared with bevacizumab-naive based chemotherapy as second-line treatment in people with metastatic CRC. Methods: Electronic databases were searched for eligible studies updated to March 2018. Randomized-controlled trials comparing addition of bevacizumab to chemotherapy without bevacizumab in MCRC patients were included, of which, the main interesting results were the efficacy and safety profiles of the addition of bevacizumab in patients with MCRC as second-line therapy. Result: Five trials were eligible in the meta-analysis. Patients who received the combined bevacizumab and chemotherapy treatment in MCRC as second-line therapy showed a longer overall survival (OS) (OR=0.80,95% CI=0.72-0.89, P<0.0001) and progression-free survival (PFS) (OR=0.69,95% CI=0.61-0.77, P<0.00001). In addition, there was no significant difference in objective response rate (ORR) (RR=1.36,95% CI=0.82-2.24, P=0.23) or severe adverse event (SAE) (RR=1.02,95% CI=0.88-1.19, P=0.78) between bevacizumab-based chemotherapy and bevacizumab-naive based chemotherapy. Conclusion: Our results suggest that the addition of bevacizumab to the chemotherapy therapy could be an efficient and safe treatment option for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer as second-line therapy and without increasing the risk of an adverse event.
Risk of Gastrointestinal Perforation in Cancer Patients Treated with Aflibercept: a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Abstract:Gastrointestinal (GI) perforation is a serious adverse event associated with aflibercept, a novel vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-targeted agent currently approved as second-line treatment for previously treated metastatic colorectal cancer, but the incidence and risk of GI perforation associated with aflibercept has not been well determined. We thus conducted this meta-analysis to investigate the overall incidence and risk of developing GI perforation associated with aflibercept. Databases from PubMed, Web of Science, and abstracts presented at American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) meeting up to January, 2014 were searched to identify relevant studies. Eligible studies included prospective phase II and III trials evaluating aflibercept in cancer patients with adequate data on GI perforation. Statistical analyses were conducted to calculate the summary incidence, odds ratio, and 95 % confidence intervals (CIs) by using either random effects or fixed effect models according to the heterogeneity of included studies. A total of 4,101 patients with a variety of solid tumors from eight clinical trials were included in our analysis. The incidence of GI perforation associated with aflibercept was 1.9 % (95 %CI, 1.0–3.8 %), with a mortality of 10.8 % (95%CI, 4.1–25.5 %). In addition, patients treated with aflibercept had a significantly increased risk of developing all-grade (OR 3.76; 95%CI, 1.94–7.25; p < 0.001) and high-grade GI (OR 4.14; 95 %CI; 2.12–8.06; p < 0.001) perforation compared with patients treated with control medication. No evidence of publication bias was observed. The use of aflibercept is associated with a significantly increased risk of GI perforation compared to controls.
Bevacizumab-induced esophageal pleural fistula during maintenance therapy without radiation in lung cancer

Abstract:Background: Esophageal pleural fistula (EPF) is a rare but fatal complication associated with bevacizumab use; however, cases reports of EPF caused by bevacizumab have not been previously published. Case presentation: A 66-year-old male patient diagnosed with stage IV lung adenocarcinoma on April 24, 2020 received 6 cycles of platinum-containing dual chemotherapy combined with bevacizumab followed by three cycles of bevacizumab monotherapy. Five days before admission, he experienced chest tightness, dyspnea, and right chest pain. Bed-side X-ray examination revealed a massive right hydrothorax, and food was found in the extracted pleural effusion. EPF was further confirmed by upper gastrointestinal radiography after oral administration of iohexol. The patient underwent jejunostomy as the distal esophagus could not be identified on gastroscopy, and eventually died of septic shock on January 16, 2021. Conclusions: It is necessary to pay attention to EPF during bevacizumab use in patients with or without risk factors.
