Abstract:Gut microbiota–diet interaction has been identified as a key factor of metabolic associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). Recent studies suggested that dietary polyphenols may protect against MAFLD by regulating gut microbiota; however, the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. We first investigated the effects of cyanidin 3-glucoside and its phenolic metabolites on high-fat diet induced MAFLD in C57BL/6J mice, and protocatechuic acid (PCA) showed a significant positive effect. Next, regulation of PCA on lipid metabolism and gut microbiota were explored by MAFLD mouse model and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) experiment. Dietary PCA reduced intraperitoneal and hepatic fat deposition with lower levels of transaminases (AST & ALT) and inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-2, IL-6, TNF-α & MCP-1), but higher HDL-c/LDL-c ratio. Characterization of gut microbiota indicated that PCA decreased the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio mainly by reducing the relative abundance of genus Enterococcus , which was positively correlated with the levels of LDL-c, AST, ALT and most of the up-regulated hepatic lipids by lipidomics analysis. FMT experiments showed that Enterococcus faecalis caused hepatic inflammation, fat deposition and insulin resistance with decreased expression of carnitine palmitoyltransferase-1 alpha ( CPT1α ), which can be reversed by PCA through inhibiting Enterococcus faecalis . Transcriptomics analysis suggested that Enterococcus faecalis caused a significant decrease in the expression of fibroblast growth factor 1 ( Fgf1 ), and PCA recovered the expression of Fgf1 with insulin-like growth factor binding protein 2 ( Igfbp2 ), insulin receptor substrate 1 ( Irs1 ) and insulin receptor substrate 2 ( Irs2 ). These results demonstrated that high proportion of gut Enterococcus faecalis accelerates MAFLD with decreased expression of CPT1α and Fgf1 , which can be prevented by dietary supplementation of PCA.

Abstract:Trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), a gut-microbiota-dependent metabolite after ingesting dietary choline, has been identified as a novel risk factor for atherosclerosis through inducing vascular inflammation. However, the underlying molecular mechanism is poorly understood. Using an in vitro vascular cellular model, we found that the TMAO-induced inflammation responses were correlated with an elevation of ROS levels and downregulation of SIRT1 expression in VSMCs and HUVECs. The overexpression of SIRT1 could abrogate both the stimulation of ROS and inflammation. Further studies revealed that AMPK was also suppressed by TMAO and was a mediator upstream of SIRT1. Activation of AMPK by AICAR could reduce TMAO-induced ROS and inflammation. Moreover, the GSH precursor NAC could attenuate TMAO-induced inflammation. In vivo studies with mice models also showed that choline-induced production of TMAO and the associated glycolipid metabolic changes leading to atherosclerosis could be relieved by NAC and a probiotic LP8198. Collectively, the present study revealed an unrecognized mechanistic link between TMAO and atherosclerosis risk, and probiotics ameliorated TMAO-induced atherosclerosis through affecting the gut microbiota. Consistent with previous studies, our data confirmed that TMAO could stimulate inflammation by modulating cellular ROS levels. However, this was not due to direct cytotoxicity but through complex signaling pathways involving AMPK and SIRT1.

Abstract:BackgroundRecently, trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) plasma levels have been proved to be associated with atherosclerosis development. Among the targets aimed to ameliorating atherosclerotic lesions, inducing bile acid synthesis to eliminate excess cholesterol in body is an effective way. Individual bile acid as endogenous ligands for the nuclear receptor has differential effects on regulating bile acid metabolism. It is unclear whether bile acid profiles are mechanistically linked to TMAO-induced development of atherosclerosis.MethodsMale apoE−/− mice were fed with control diet containing 0.3% TMAO for 8 weeks. Aortic lesion development and serum lipid profiles were determined. Bile acid profiles in bile, liver and serum were measured by liquid chromatographic separation and mass spectrometric detection (LC-MS). Real-time PCRs were performed to analyze mRNA expression of genes related to hepatic bile acid metabolism.ResultsThe total plaque areas in the aortas strongly increased 2-fold (P < 0.001) in TMAO administration mice. The levels of triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) in TMAO group were also significantly increased by 25.5% (P = 0.044), 31.2% (P = 0.006), 28.3% (P = 0.032), respectively. TMAO notably changed bile acid profiles, especially in serum, the most prominent inductions were tauromuricholic acid (TMCA), deoxycholic acid (DCA) and cholic acid (CA). Mechanically, TMAO inhibited hepatic bile acid synthesis by specifically repressing the classical bile acid synthesis pathway, which might be mediated by activation of small heterodimer partner (SHP) and farnesoid X receptor (FXR).ConclusionsThese findings suggested that TMAO accelerated aortic lesion formation in apoE−/− mice by altering bile acid profiles, further activating nuclear receptor FXR and SHP to inhibit bile acid synthesis by reducing Cyp7a1 expression.

Gut Microbiota Composition Affects Procyanidin A2-Attenuated Atherosclerosis in ApoE-/- Mice by Modulating the Bioavailability of Its Microbial Metabolites

Abstract:Procyanidin A2 (PCA2) has been shown to improve lipid metabolism. However, it remains to know whether it can play a role in preventing atherosclerosis (AS) through gut microbiota. This study examined the effect of PCA2 on high fat diet (HFD)-induced AS in ApoE-/- mice with an intact and antibiotic-depleted microbiota. PCA2 administration for 12 weeks attenuated HFD-induced AS in ApoE-/- mice, evidenced by obviously alleviating the histological abnormalities of the aorta, lipid accumulation, oxidative stress, and inflammation, which were accompanied by downregulating the expression of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 and intracellular adhesion molecule-1 and upregulating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma, cholesterol 7 alpha-hydroxylase, and ATP-binding cassette transporter A1. Moreover, PCA2 treatment reshaped the gut microbiota imbalance caused by HFD, especially reducing the ratio of Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes and increasing the abundance of Verrucomicrobia. However, antibiotic intervention almost offset the alleviation of AS by PCA2 and prevented the biotransformation of PCA2 by gut microbiota, thus resulting in a 2327.21-6.27-fold decrease in its microbial metabolites of plasma. There was a marked correlation among the microbiota composition, the bioavailability of PCA2-derived microbial metabolites, and AS indicators. The findings indicate that the gut microbiota robustly influences the bioavailability of microbial metabolites that may partially drive the AS resilience property of PCA2.

Abstract:We determined whether gut microbiota-produced trimethylamine (TMA) is oxidized into trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) in nonliver tissues and whether TMAO promotes inflammation via trained immunity (TI). We found that endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress genes were coupregulated with MitoCarta genes in chronic kidney diseases (CKD); TMAO upregulated 190 genes in human aortic endothelial cells (HAECs); TMAO synthesis enzyme flavin-containing monooxygenase 3 (FMO3) was expressed in human and mouse aortas; TMAO transdifferentiated HAECs into innate immune cells; TMAO phosphorylated 12 kinases in cytosol via its receptor PERK and CREB, and integrated with PERK pathways; and PERK inhibitors suppressed TMAO-induced ICAM-1. TMAO upregulated 3 mitochondrial genes, downregulated inflammation inhibitor DARS2, and induced mitoROS, and mitoTEMPO inhibited TMAO-induced ICAM-1. β-Glucan priming, followed by TMAO restimulation, upregulated TNF-α by inducing metabolic reprogramming, and glycolysis inhibitor suppressed TMAO-induced ICAM-1. Our results have provided potentially novel insights regarding TMAO roles in inducing EC activation and innate immune transdifferentiation and inducing metabolic reprogramming and TI for enhanced vascular inflammation, and they have provided new therapeutic targets for treating cardiovascular diseases (CVD), CKD-promoted CVD, inflammation, transplantation, aging, and cancer.

Abstract:The incorporation of glycine, leucine and phenylalanine into cell-free homogenates of mouse kidney was increased 30–70% by pretreatment with testosterone propionate; smaller effects were found with methionine, serine and valine. Hydrocortisone inhibited the incorporation of glycine, leucine, phenylalanine and valine; incorporation of either methionine or serine was not affected. More than 90% of the radioactivity which was incorporated in experiments with glycine and leucine was found in a fraction sedimenting at 900 g. Neither incorporation per se, nor the changes occurring in response to steroid hormones, was dependent upon soluble (900 gsupernatant) factors of the homogenate. Although phenylalanine was incorporated into the 900 g-supernatant fraction as well as into the “nuclear” fraction, only the latter responded to testosterone propionate.

Abstract:Abstract Microbial trimethylamine (TMA)-lyase activity promotes the development of atherosclerosis by generating of TMA, the precursor of TMA N-oxide (TMAO). TMAO is well documented, but same can not be said of TMA-producing bacteria. This work aimed to identify TMA-producing genera in human intestinal microbiota. We retrieved the genomes of human-associated microorganisms from the Human Microbiome Project database comprising 1751 genomes, Unified Human Gastrointestinal Genome collection consisting 4644 gut prokaryotes, recapitulated 4930 species-level genome bins and public gut metagenomic data of 2134 individuals from 11 populations. By sequence searching, 216 TMA-lyase-containing species from 102 genera were found to contain the homologous sequences of cntA / B , yeaW / X, and/or cutC / D . We identified 13 strains from 5 genera with cntA sequences, and 30 strains from 14 genera with cutC showing detectable relative abundance in healthy individuals. Lachnoclostridium ( p = 2.9e−05) and Clostridium ( p = 5.8e−04), the two most abundant cutC -containing genera, were found to be much higher in atherosclerotic patients compared with healthy persons. Upon incubation with choline (substrate), L. saccharolyticum effectively transformed it to TMA at a rate higher than 98.7% while that for C. sporogenes was 63.8–67.5% as detected by liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. In vivo studies further showed that treatment of L. saccharolyticum and choline promoted a significant increase in TMAO level in the serum of ApoE −/− mice with obvious accumulation of aortic plaque in same. This study discloses the significance and efficiency of the gut bacterium L. saccharolyticum in transforming choline to TMA and consequently promoting the development of atherosclerosis.

Abstract:Background Cardiovascular disease is one of the main causes of global mortality, and there is an urgent need for effective treatment strategies. Gut microbiota-dependent metabolite trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) promotes the development of cardiovascular diseases, and shizukaol C, a natural sesquiterpene isolated from Chloranthus multistachys with various biological activities, might exhibit beneficial role in preventing TMAO-induced vascular inflammation. Purpose The purpose of this study was to investigate the anti-inflammatory effects and the underlying mechanisms of shizukaol C on TMAO-induced vascular inflammation. Methods The effect and underlying mechanism of shizukaol C on TMAO-induced adhesion molecules expression, bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDM) adhesion to VSMC were evaluated by western blot, cell adhesion assay, co-immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence assay, and quantitative Real-Time PCR, respectively. To verify the role of shizukaol C in vivo, TMAO-induced vascular inflammation model were established using guidewire-induced injury on mice carotid artery. Changes in the intima area and the expression of GSTpi, VCAM-1, CD68 were examined using haematoxylin-eosin staining, and immunofluorescence assay. Results Our data demonstrated that shizukaol C significantly suppressed TMAO-induced adhesion molecule expression and the bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDM) adhesion in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC). Mechanically, shizukaol C inhibited TMAO-induced c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)-nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB)/p65 activation, and the JNK inhibition was dependent on the shizukaol C-mediated glutathione-S-transferase pi (GSTpi) expression. By further molecular docking and protein-binding analysis, we demonstrated that shizukaol C directly binds to Keap1 to induce Nrf2 nuclear translocation and upregulated GSTpi expression. Consistently, our in vivo experiment showed that shizukaol C elevated the expression level of GSTpi in carotid arteries and alleviates TMAO-induced vascular inflammation. Conclusion: Shizukaol C exerts anti-inflammatory effects in TMAO-treated VSMC by targeting Keap1 and activating Nrf2-GSTpi signaling and resultantly inhibits the downstream JNK-NF-κB p65 activation and VSMC adhesion, and alleviates TMAO-induced vascular inflammation in vivo, suggesting that shizukaol C may be a potential drug for treating TMAO-induced vascular diseases.

Abstract:Background Trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO), a metabolite produced by intestinal microbiota through metabolizing phosphatidylcholine, choline, L-carnitine and betaine in the diet, has been implicated in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis (AS). Concurrently, dietary polyphenols have garnered attention for their potential to ameliorate obesity, diabetes and atherosclerosis primarily by modulating the intestinal microbial structure. Hickory ( Carya cathayensis ) nut, a polyphenol-rich food product favored for its palatability, emerges as a candidate for exploration. Hypothesis/Purpose The relationship between polyphenol of hickory nut and atherosclerosis prevention will be firstly clarified, providing theoretical basis for the discovery of natural products counteracting TMAO-induced AS process in hickory nut. Study Design and Methods Employing Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and histological examination of aortic samples, the effects of total polyphenol extract on obesity index, inflammatory index and pathological changes of atherosclerosis in C57BL/6J mice fed with high-fat and high choline diet were evaluated. Further, the composition, abundance, and function of mouse gut microbiota were analyzed through 16srDNA sequencing. Concurrently, the levels of TMAO and the expression of key enzymes (CutC and FMO3) involved in its synthesis are quantified using ELISA, Western Blot and Real-Time Quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). Additionally, targeted metabolomic profiling of the hickory nut polyphenol extract was conducted, accompanied by molecular docking simulations to predict interactions between candidate polyphenols and the CutC/FMO3 using Autodock Vina. Finally, the docking prediction were verified by Microscale thermophoresis (MST) . Results Polyphenol extracts of hickory nut improved the index of obesity and inflammation, and alleviated the pathological changes of atherosclerosis in C57BL/6J mice fed with high-fat and high-choline diet. Meanwhile, these polyphenol extracts also changed the composition and function of intestinal microbiota, and increased the abundance of microorganisms in mice. Notably, the abundance of intestinal microbiota endowed with CutC gene was significantly reduced, coherent with expression of CutC catalyzing TMA production. Moreover, polyphenol extracts also decreased the expression of FMO3 in the liver, contributing to the reduction of TMAO levels in serum. Furthermore, metabonomic profile analysis of these polyphenol extracts identified 647 kinds of polyphenols. Molecular docking predication further demonstrated that Casuariin and Cinnamtannin B2 had the most potential inhibition on the enzymatic activities of CutC or FMO3, respectively. Notably, MST analysis corroborated the potential for direct interaction between CutC enzyme and available polyphenols such as Corilagin, (-)-Gallocatechin gallate and Epigallocatechin gallate. Conclusion Hickory polyphenol extract can mitigate HFD-induced AS by regulating intestinal microflora in murine models. In addition, TMA-FMO3-TMAO pathway may play a key role in this process. This research unveils, for the inaugural time, the complex interaction between hickory nut-derived polyphenols and gut microbial, providing novel insights into the role of dietary polyphenols in AS prevention.

Abstract:Abstract Background Weaning is one of the major factors that cause stress and intestinal disease in piglets. Protocatechuic acid (PCA) is an active plant phenolic acid which exists in Chinese herb, Duzhong ( Eucommia ulmoides Oliver), and is also considered as the main bioactive metabolite of polyphenol against oxidative stress and inflammation. This study aimed to investigate the effect of PCA on growth performance, intestinal barrier function, and gut microbiota in a weaned piglet model challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). Methods Thirty-six piglets (Pig Improvement Company line 337 × C48, 28 d of age, 8.87 kg ± 0.11 kg BW) were randomly allocated into 3 treatments and fed with a basal diet (CTL), a diet added 50 mg/kg of aureomycin (AUR), or a diet supplemented with 4000 mg/kg of PCA, respectively. The piglets were challenged with LPS (10 μg/kg BW) on d 14 and d 21 by intraperitoneal injection during the 21-d experiment. Animals ( n = 6 from each group) were sacrificed after being anesthetized by sodium pentobarbital at 2 h after the last injection of LPS. The serum was collected for antioxidant indices and inflammatory cytokines analysis, the ileum was harvested for detecting mRNA and protein levels of tight junction proteins by PCR and immunohistochemical staining, and the cecum chyme was collected for intestinal flora analysis using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Results Dietary supplementation of PCA or AUR significantly increased the expression of tight junction proteins including ZO-1 and claudin-1 in intestinal mucosa, and decreased the serum levels of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and IL-6, as compared with CTL group. In addition, PCA also decreased the serum levels of IL-2 and TNF-α ( P < 0.05). Analysis of gut microbiota indicated that PCA increased the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio ( P < 0.05). Spearman’s correlation analysis at the genus level revealed that PCA reduced the relative abundance of Prevotella 9, Prevotella 2, Holdemanella , and Ruminococcus torques group ( P < 0.05), and increased the relative abundance of Roseburia and Desulfovibrio ( P < 0.05), whereas AUR had no significant effect on these bacteria. Conclusions These results demonstrated that both PCA and AUR had protective effect on oxidative stress, inflammation and intestinal barrier function in piglets challenged with LPS, and PCA potentially exerted the protective function by modulating intestinal flora in a way different from AUR. Here, we aim to investigate the effects of TMAO on atherosclerosis (AS) development and the underlying mechanisms. Apoe -/- mice received choline or TMAO supplementation in a normal diet and a western diet for 12 weeks. Choline or TMAO supplementation in both normal diet and western diet significantly promoted plaque progression in Apoe-/- mice. Besides, serum lipids levels and inflammation response in the aortic root were enhanced by choline or TMAO supplementation. In particular, choline or TMAO supplementation in the western diet changed intestinal microbiota composition and bile acid metabolism. Therefore, choline or TMAO supplementation may promote AS by modulating gut microbiota in mice fed with a western diet and by other mechanisms in mice given a normal diet, even choline or TMAO supplementation in a normal diet can promote AS.

Abstract:Background Periodontitis is considered a risk factor for atherosclerosis, but the mechanism is not clear. It was reported that oral administration of Porphyromonas gingivalis altered the gut microbiota in mice. Gut dysbiosis and the intestinal metabolite trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) were verified to be associated with atherosclerosis. Therefore, the possible TMAO-related mechanism between periodontitis and atherosclerosis needs to be explored. Methods Experimental periodontitis was established by oral administration of P. gingivalis for 2 months in ApoE −/− mice. Mouse hemi-mandibles were scanned using Micro-CT. Quantification of TMAO was performed using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry. Mouse feces were collected and the bacterial DNA was extracted, then the gut microbiota was analyzed using 16S rRNA genes. Atherosclerotic lesion areas were quantified. Livers, small intestines, and large intestines were analyzed for gene expression. Results Aggravated atherosclerosis plaques were found in experimental periodontitis mice. Plasma TMAO, a pathogenic factor of atherosclerosis, was initially found to be increased in periodontitis mice. Changes in the composition and abundance of the intestinal microflora of periodontitis mice were found. Flavin monooxygenase 3 (FMO3), the catalyzing enzyme of TMAO in the liver, was significantly increased, accompanied by an increase of IL-6 in liver, the abnormal intestinal integrity and enhanced plasma LPS. The IL-6 and LPS were verified to be able to increase FMO3 in HepG2 cells. Conclusion Our research discovered that experimental periodontitis in ApoE −/− mice induced gut dysbiosis and an increase in TMAO. These results suggest a possible mechanism by which periodontitis may accelerate atherosclerosis by influencing the intestinal microbes and the metabolism, which were triggered by inflammation of the liver and intestine.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the influence of gender and age on the course of infection and the cytokine response in a murine model of disseminated cryptococcosis. METHODS The course of the infection (survival and fungal load in blood and tissues) as well as pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokine responses in plasma and organs were compared according to gender and age in outbred mice previously infected with Cryptococcus neoformans NIH52D. RESULTS Although survival and fungal load were similar in male and female mice, the expression of all cytokines in plasma and of tumour necrosis factor-alpha and interferon-gamma in spleen was significantly increased in female mice compared to male mice in two independent experiments. Young male mice had a significantly shortened survival, were significantly more infected and had predominant tumour necrosis factor-alpha and interferon-gamma responses in comparison with older male mice. CONCLUSION Host factors should be taken into account when studying the immune response to experimental C. neoformans infection. Our data support epidemiological and clinical data showing differences in susceptibility to cryptococcosis according to gender and age.

Abstract:To track a desired signal-to-interference-plus-noise-ratio (SINR) that allows for higher system throughput and better link quality in an interference limited wireless communication system, a feedback power controller is designed to obtain the optimal SINR tracking control. In this paper, we propose the multi-objective (MO) H2/H∞ optimal power control for interference limited wireless systems that provides quality solutions for both objectives. The considered multi-objective H2/H∞ power tracking control is complicated in nature and an equivalent formulation that minimizes the upper bounds of both objectives is proposed. Furthermore, the resulting constraints for the MO H2/H∞ power control problem is transformed as three linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), leading to a LMIs-constrained MO problem (MOP). By combining the LMI toolbox in MATLAB with an evolutionary searching algorithm, a set of H2/H∞ solutions called Pareto optimal solutions can be obtained and a particular solution can be selected based on the tradeoff determined by the system designer. Finally, to illustrate our design procedure, we provide numerical simulations for a typical interference limited wireless system, i.e., a direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) cellular system. Simulation results demonstrate that the optimal tradeoff indeed can be achieved by the proposed MO H2/H∞ power control.
TMAO induces pyroptosis of vascular endothelial cells and atherosclerosis in ApoE-/- mice via MBOAT2-mediated endoplasmic reticulum stress

Abstract:Trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO), a metabolite produced by intestinal flora, is recognized as an independent risk factor for atherosclerosis and atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases. However, the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood. Here, we showed that dietary TMAO supplementation accelerates atherosclerosis in ApoE-/- mice. Pyroptosis and the expression of phospholipid-modifying enzyme MBOAT2 were increased in endothelial cells within atherosclerotic lesions. Genetic upregulation of MBOAT2 via adeno-associated virus with endothelium-specific promoter results in increased atherosclerotic lesions in ApoE-/- mice. Mechanistically, the overexpression of MBOAT2 disrupted glycerophospholipid metabolism and induced endothelial cell pyroptosis in an Endoplasmic reticulum stress-dependent manner. These data reveal that TMAO promotes endothelial cell pyroptosis and the progression of atherosclerotic lesions through the upregulation of MBOAT2, indicating that MBOAT2 is a promising therapeutic target for atherosclerosis.

Abstract:Inflammation is a complex physiological process that poses a serious threat to people's health. However, the potential molecular mechanisms of inflammation are still not clear. Moreover, there is lack of effective anti-inflammatory drugs that meet the clinical requirement. Procyanidin A1 (PCA1) is a monomer component isolated from Procyanidin and shows various pharmacological activities. This study further demonstrated the regulatory role of PCA1 on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated inflammatory response and oxidative stress in RAW264.7 cells. Our data showed that PCA1 dramatically attenuated the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as NO, iNOS, IL-6, and TNF-alpha in RAW264.7 cells administrated with LPS. PCA1 blocked I kappa B-alpha degradation, inhibited IKK alpha/beta and I kappa B alpha phosphorylation, and suppressed nuclear translocation of p65 in RAW264.7 cells induced by LPS. PCA1 also suppressed the phosphorylation of JNK1/2, p38, and ERK1/2 in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. In addition, PCA1 increased the expression of HO-1, reduced the expression of Keap1, and promoted Nrf2 into the nuclear in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. Cellular thermal shift assay indicated that PCA1 bond to TLR4. Meanwhile, PCA1 inhibited the production of intracellular ROS and alleviated the depletion of mitochondrial membrane potential in vitro. Collectively, our data indicated that PCA1 exhibited a significant anti-inflammatory effect, suggesting that it is a potential agent for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
