Abstract:This paper hopes to enhance understanding about entrenched grievance in a couple of ways: (a) Initially, the paper reviews how entrenched grievance reflects melancholic states of mind in terms of its avoidance of the pain of loss and change. But the main contribution of the paper is likely to be found in (b), that is, via detailed clinical material, the paper illustrates how earnest efforts on the part of the analyst to bring understanding may lead to cognitive entrapments such as the convictions incumbent in the "knowing" analyst. Further, that this knowing analyst may need to become aggrieved, that is, narrow, impatient and concrete towards her patient's entrenchment, and then to recogize this plight in herself before she can genuinely hear her patient's grievance about her from a wider view, that is as a complaint from the "lively self", deserving recognition. The clinical detail demonstrates that such recognition softened the patient's grievance, allowing both members of the dyad to become more collaborative and open to the pains and growth available from mourning states of mind. L'auteure de cet article tente d'accroître notre compréhension des fonctions remplies par le retranchement dans la plainte : a) pour commencer, elle passe en revue la façon dont le retranchement dans la plainte est le reflet d'états mélancoliques concernant l'évitement de la douleur de la perte et du changement. Mais le principal apport de cet article réside dans le point : b) via des exemples cliniques détaillés, il illustre la façon dont les efforts marqués de l'analyste dans le but de nourrir la compréhension peut conduire à des pièges cognitifs, tels que ceux qui renferment la conviction d'un analyste « supposé savoir ». De plus, l'auteure souligne le fait que cet analyste « supposé savoir » se doit de devenir affligé, c'est-à-dire intolérant, impatient et concret à l'égard du retranchement du patient, pour ensuite être amené à reconnaître cette détresse en lui-même, afin d'être véritablement apte à entendre plus globalement la plainte du patient à son endroit, au sens d'une plainte s'originant du « self vivant » (Weintrobe, 2004), qui mérite d'être reconnue. Le matériel clinique présenté ici de façon détaillée montre qu'une telle reconnaissance a pu adoucir la plainte du patient en permettant aux deux protagonistes de la dyade de devenir plus collaboratifs et plus ouverts à la douleur et au développement inhérents aux états de deuil. Mit dieser Arbeit soll das Verständnis festgefahrener Trauer in mehrfacher Hinsicht verbessert werden: a) Zunächst wird untersucht, wie festgefahrene Trauer melancholische Gemütszustände widerspiegelt, indem sie den Schmerz von Verlust und Veränderung vermeidet. Der Hauptbeitrag des Aufsatzes ist jedoch in b) zu finden, wo anhand von detailliertem klinischem Material veranschaulicht wird, wie ernsthafte Bemühungen der Analytikerin um Verständnis zu gedanklichen Verstrickungen führen können, wie z.B. die Überzeugungen, die dem "wissenden" Analytiker anhaften. Vielleicht muss die wissende Analytikerin erst einmal gekränkt werden, d.h. eingeengt, ungeduldig und konkret gegenüber den Verstrickungen ihrer Patientin, um dann diese Notlage in sich selbst zu erkennen, bevor sie die Beschwerde ihrer Patientin über sie wirklich aus einer breiteren Perspektive hören kann, d.h. als eine Beschwerde des "lebendigen Selbst" (Weintrobe, 2004), die Anerkennung verdient. Das klinische Detail zeigt, dass eine solche Anerkennung die Klage der Patientin milderte und es beiden Mitgliedern der Dyade ermöglichte, kooperativer und offener für die Schmerzen und das Wachstum zu werden, die aus dem Zustand der Trauer entstehen können. L'obiettivo del presente articolo è di approfondire la comprensione del risentimento radicato in un paio di modi: a) si osserva innanzitutto come, nella misura in cui evita il dolore della perdita e del cambiamento, il risentimento radicato rifletta stati mentali di marca malinconica. Il principale contributo dell'articolo è offerto però probabilmente dal punto b) ossia laddove, attraverso l'analisi dettagliata del materiale clinico, si mostra come sforzi anche importanti da parte dell'analista volti a portare la comprensione possano condurre a situazioni di intrappolamento cognitivo, come accade ad esempio con le convinzioni insite nell'analista 'che sa'. Il lavoro mostra inoltre come questo 'analista che sa' possa avere bisogno di diventare risentito - vale a dire di ristrette vedute, impaziente e concreto in relazione al trinceramento del suo paziente - e quindi di riconoscere questa difficoltà in se stesso prima di poter dare davvero ascolto al rancore che il paziente nutre nei suoi confronti da un punto di vista più ampio - ascoltandolo cioè come una lamentela proveniente dal 'Sé vitale' (Weintrobe, 2004) e meritevole di riconoscimento.
