Abstract:The non-judicious use of pesticides in agro-food poses a severe threat to food safety and human health. As an emerging chromatographic fingerprint provider, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy analysis (SERS) sheds bright light on sensitive and nondestructive detection of pesticide residues. This research proposed a novel strategy to detect three-pesticide residues (thiabendazole, carbendazim, and chlorpyrifos) on tomato peel based on the flexible and sticky SERS substrate. After selecting the best commercial adhesive tape (3M9080), the SERS substrate was constructed by optimizing the parameters in the preparation process of AuNPs. Therefore, a new simple “tape-wrapped SERS” way for pesticide residue analysis was established with a simple procedure of “absorption, separation, and drop addition.” Based on chemometrics method, the limit of semiquantitative detection was 20, 36, and 80 ng/cm2 for thiabendazole, carbendazim, and chlorpyrifos, respectively, on tomato surface, which indicated that the proposed method could meet the requirement of actual application with a large prospect in agro-food safety detection.

Abstract:Pesticides that linger in the environment and ecosystems for an extended period can cause severe and dangerous health problems in humans. To detect pesticides in foods, the development of high-sensitivity and quick screening technologies was required. This research investigated the performance of Au@Ag NPs with varying thicknesses of the silver shell for detecting trace quantities of thiabendazole (TBZ) in apples using surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). The Au@Ag NPs were synthesized by coating 32 nm gold seeds with different thicknesses of silver shell ranging from 2.4 to 8.7 nm, achieved by adjusting the incorporation of AgNO3 and ascorbic acid. The optimized Au@Ag NPs with a 7.3 nm silver shell demonstrated outstanding SERS activity, high sensitivity, and a detection limit of 0.05 μg/mL for TBZ. The R2 values, representing the goodness of fit, were found to be 0.990 and 0.986 for standard and real TBZ samples, respectively, indicating a strong correlation between the measured signal and the TBZ concentration. The recovery analysis showed a reliable and accurate detection capability (96 to 105%), suggesting good reliability and accuracy of the SERS-based detection using the optimal Au@Ag NPs. Overall, this research highlights the potential of SERS with optimal Au@Ag NPs for rapid and effective monitoring of pesticides in the food industry.Graphical Abstract

Abstract:Pesticide residues in fruit and vegetable constitute a great threat to mankind's health, and a technique of rapid, cost-effective, ultra-sensitive and non-destructive analysis is especially critical for on-site detection in practical application. A strategy was utilized to fabricate highly viscous and flexible WPU@AgNPs sticky tape for the rapid extraction and Surface-enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) assay of thiabendazole residues on the surface of fruits. Simply put, the novel WPU@AgNPs tapes were constructed by decorating the waterborne polyurethane (WPU) film with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), and demonstrated excellent sensitivity with 4-Mercaptopyridine (4-Mpy) as the probe molecule. Meanwhile, the enhancement factor of the novel SERS substrate could reach 7.01 x 106, which was consistent with the finite difference time domain (FDTD) theoretical simulation results. What's more, the high viscosity and flexibility of WPU@AgNPs sticky tapes allowed them to detect the thiabendazole residues on the pear, apple and banana surfaces by a straightforward "paste and peel off" approach. The results showed that the detection limit could reach 1.44, 1.12 and 1.63 ng/cm2. This strategy would be as a common method for prompt, on-site and ultra-sensitive assay of thiabendazole residues in chemical and biological fields.

Abstract:This paper reports a "bottom‐up" substrate preparation method using a two‐phase interface self‐assembly technology that combines silver‐coated gold core–shell nanorods with the thermally shrinkable polystyrene (TSP) support material for surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS), that is, TSP‐SERS substrate. The gold nanorods with long absorption wavelength were used as the core, and the silver shells were coated to obtain the core–shell nanostructures with a stronger resonance with the wavelength of the light source. The density of the nanostructures and numbers of "hot spots" within the light spot increased via the three‐dimensional folding feature formed by thermal shrinkage. The combined effect of the two factors increases the enhancement factor by an order of magnitude to 107 after thermal contraction. The detection concentration of 4‐mercaptobenzoic acid can reach 10−9 M, and the maximum relative standard deviation is only 8.9%. In fact, the detection limit of benzimidazole on the surface of apple can reach 0.5 mg/L, and the recovery deviation is controlled within the range of 11.7%. The practical detection of benzimidazole pesticide residues showed that this method has wide application prospects in the detection of pesticide residues.

Synergistic SERS enhancement of NiCo-LDHs microurchins and silver nanoparticles for ultra-sensitive and reusable detection of thiabendazole

Abstract:Two-dimensional layered semiconductor materials as a distinctive class of materials are comprehensively explored for widespread applications due to narrow bandgap, controllable morphology, and tunable metal cation composition. Herein, we constructed a sensing platform of surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) by combination of nickel‑cobalt layered double hydroxide (NiCo-LDH) microurchins and plasmonic silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) for fungicide detection of thiabendazole (TBZ). The NiCo-LDHs/Ag-NPs microcomposites consist of NiCo-LDHs microurchins having a large number of nanoneedles deposited with photoreduced Ag NPs. The SERS platform with NiCo-LDHs/Ag-NPs shows an excellent SERS performance for TBZ detection, including an ultra-low detection limit of 1.49 × 10-11 M, a sublime enhancement factor of 1.71 × 109, high uniformity, good reproducibility, and long-term storage stability. The ultrahigh SERS activity of NiCo-LDH/Ag-NPs can be attributed to strong electromagnetic enhancement in the nanoscale gaps between Ag NPs, massive charge transfer through large-area NiCo-LDH/Ag-NPs interfaces, and the synergistic action of electromagnetic and charge transfer mechanisms. Besides, the unique morphology of NiCo-LDHs/Ag-NPs microcomposite provides a broad surface area for adsorption of TBZ molecules for further Raman signal enhancement. The practicability of the proposed SERS platform is confirmed by detecting TBZ in the real samples of apple juice and river water. The exceptional self-cleaning capability of the NiCo-LDHs/Ag-NPs microcomposite with an retention rate of 81.97 % even after the fifth degradation cycle underscores its impressive sustainable reusability and cost-effectiveness. The findings in this work lay the foundation for the development of high-performance SERS platforms to ensure food safety and environmental protection.

Abstract:The overuse of pesticides results in excessive pesticide residues, posing a potential threat to human health. Herein, this work proposes a SERS substrate for the quantitative analysis of pesticide residues on food surfaces. Au cores are assembled on PS microspheres, followed by the modification of Raman internal standards (1,4-BDT) on the gold core surface and the growth of the Au shell. After incubating the analytes with PS@Au@1,4-BDT@Au particles, the mixture is dropped on the hydrophobic gold film for drying before detection. The SERS substrates exhibited high sensitivity and stability, with a detection limit of 10-12 M and an RSD of less than 7 %. Combined with a portable Raman spectrometer, the SERS detection of pesticide residues on three kinds of food surfaces is carried out, with a sensitivity of 10-11 M, meeting the US MRLs regulations. Therefore, this strategy may possess significant potential for future food safety.

Abstract:High-performance plasmonic substrates have recently attracted much research attention. Herein, a three-dimensional gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) spherical liquid array (SLA) with high "hot spots" and tunable nanometer gap by optimizing the proportion of AuNPs colloids over chloroform was synthesized based on a water–oil interfacial self-assembly strategy. The substrate demonstrated excellent surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) performance using tetrathiafulvalene and rhodamine 6G (R6G) as probe molecules. With a simple extraction and soaking pretreatment process, the SLA exhibited high sensitivity for analysing triazophos on apple peels, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.005 μg/mL and recovery ranging from 96 to 110 %. Particularly, the chloroform produced an inherent characteristic peak at 665 cm −1 , which was used as the internal standard to correct SERS signal fluctuation, leading to an improvement of the corresponding coefficient R 2 from 0.97 to 0.99, thus improving the reproducibility. Therefore the SLA substrate possesses the potential for quantitative analysis of food contaminants.

Abstract:Mononuclear peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) from patient with infectious mononucleosis (IM) were tested in a 51Cr-release assay for cytotoxicity against autologous and allogeneic lymphoblastoid cell line (LCL), or Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-genome positive and negative cell line. In acute phase, PBL lyse an autologous LCL as well as allogeneic LCL (Wa cells). High levels of cytotoxicity were observed in the combinations between effector and target cells sharing HLA-Class 1 product. EBV-genome positive Daudi and Raji cells which lack HLA-Class 1 antigen and have mismactched HLA-Class 1 antigen, respectively showed resistance to killing. EBV-genome negative tumor cells except NK sensitive K562 cells were not killed by IM lymphocytes. However, the IM lymphocytes without atypical form in convalescent phase failed to show killing activity against autologous and allogeneic LCL. These findings suggest that cell surface membrane antigen structure on EBV-infected LCL may be able to explain the recognition and triggering of lysis of target cells by HLA-Class 1 restricted cytotoxic T cells (CTL) from acute IM. Phenotypic analysis of PBL with atypical form from IM was made by two-color flow cytometry. The data demonstrate that CD8+ T cells quantitatively represent the major population of lymphocytes expanded during acute IM. Furthermore, approximately 70% of these CD8+ T cells express HLA-DR on these surface, suggesting that they have undergone activation. However, IL 2R (CD25 antigen) expression was not significantly elevated on activated T cells. The salient profile on cytofluorographs of an acute IM was the increased number of CD3+CD19-, CD8+CD11b-, CD8+CD28+ and CD8+S6F1+ cells. However, CD3-CD19+, CD8+CD11b+, CD8+S6F1-, CD4+Leu8- and CD25+HLA-DR+ antigens were little expressed. Increased number of CD8+CD11b-, CD8+CD28+ and CD8+S6F1+ cells, which are regarded as CTL were reduced according to the improvement of the clinical symptoms and laboratory findings. These results together with HLA typing analysis suggested a possibility HLA-Class 1 restriction of the CTL with surface phenotype of CD8+CD11b-, CD8+CD28+, and CD8+S6F1+.
Silver nanoparticle-assembled micro-bowl arrays for sensitive SERS detection of pesticide residue

Abstract:It is of great significance to develop a simple and effective method for constructing large-scale high-quality surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate. Here Ag nanoparticle-assembled micro-bowl array was prepared by a close-packed polystyrene (PS) sphere monolayer templated electrodeposition approach. The fabricated Ag nanoparticle-assembled micro-bowl array shows high SERS sensitivity to rhodamine 6G (R6G) under an ultralow concentration of 1 fM, and exhibits excellent SERS spectral uniformity with a small relative standard deviation (RSD) of 7.6% and good reproducibility (a RSD ~8.2% for the average peak intensities from different batches of SERS substrates). The fabricated micro-bowl array SERS substrate was employed to detect pesticide residue (thiram and methyl parathion) on vegetables. The limit of detections (LODs) for the two pesticides are lower than the maximum residue limits (MRLs) set by European Union respectively, showing promising application in rapid inspection of food safety.

Abstract:Substrate materials possessing high sensitivity and storage stability are vital for the practical analytical applications of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) techniques. In this work, SERS substrate material (Fe3O4@UiO-66-NH2@Au) on a magnetic metal–organic framework (Fe3O4@UiO-66-NH2) decorated with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was constructed. The as-prepared SERS substrate combined the properties of the abundant hotspots between the AuNPs and the excellent adsorption performance of UiO-66-NH2 for trace molecules. Meanwhile, the presence of Fe3O4 can be helpful to separate quickly, and the generation of the coffee ring effect was weakened under the action of an external magnetic field. The results showed that the new substrate materials have excellent SERS performance. The substrate material was used for TBZ detection; it exhibited good linearity in the range from 0.025 to 2 ppm, and the limit of detection (LOD) could be down to 6.5 ppb. The Raman signal intensity of the substrate material was stable after 22 days of storage at room temperature. We constructed a sensitive, stable, and rapid method based on SERS for TBZ detection in this work, which also has great potential for the detection of food and environmental pollution in practical applications.

Abstract:The overuse of mixed pesticides poses a threat to both the ecosystem and human health, yet general pesticide detection methods are complex in terms of steps, such as the need for pretreatment and cleaning. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) has been used for real-life trace detection of residues due to its rapid detection and ultra-high sensitivity. Here, we prepared a novel Ti 3 C 2 Tx (MXene)-noble metal hybrid flexible substrate with a layer of MXene on top of flower-like Ag nanoparticles (AgNFs), and finally grew Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) by galvanic replacement and self-reduction reactions. The limit of detection (LOD) can be as low as 2×10 -12 M by detecting 4-mercaptobenzoic acid (4MBA). For efficient sampling, transparent and flexible platform made of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) were used for the extraction and detection of thiabendazole (TBZ), thiram, methyl parathion (MP) and their mixtures. Notably, the lowest concentrations detected by swabbing on the tomato surface (3.7 ng/mL, 2.8 ng/mL) were lower than the EU maximum permissible limits of pesticides on raw fruits and vegetables (4.0 mg/L, 6.33 mg/mL). This high performance Ti 3 C 2 Tx-noble metal hybrid flexible substrate offers a great advantage in the trace detection of molecules.

Abstract:A new surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) method for the determination of thiamethoxam (TBZ) on the surface of fruit was developed using β-cyclodextrin (β-CD)-coated AgNPs as substrates. When using it to detect 10 −8 M methylene blue, the characteristic peak was still clearly visible. In addition, β-CD-AgNP substrates can be used for SERS detection of low concentration TBZ on apple surfaces, which can detect TBZ as low as 7.3 × 10 −8 M. The results indicated that this substrate based on silver nanoparticles has high sensitivity for rapid detection of pesticide residues.

Abstract:The high sensitivity and long-term storage stability of a plasmonic substrate are vital for practical applications of the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) technique in real world analysis. In this study, a rationally designed ternary films-packaged silver-coated-gold nanoparticles (Au@Ag NPs) plasmonic array was fabricated and applied as a stable and high-performance SERS chip for highly sensitive sensing of thiabendazole (TBZ) residues in fruit juices. The ternary films played different roles in the plasmonic chip: a newborn poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) film serving as a template for fixing the self-assembly closely-packed monolayer Au@Ag NPs array that provided intensive hotspot; a fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction adhesive film (qPCR film) acting as a carrier to retrieve Au@Ag/PMMA film that was used to improve the robustness of the plasmonic array; and a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film covered over the Au@Ag/PMMA/qPCR film performing as a barrier to improve the stability of the chip. The Au@Ag/PMMA/qPCR-PET film chip showed high sensitivity with an enhancement factor of 3.14x106, long-term storage stability without changing SERS signals for more than 2 months at room temperatures, and low limit of detection for sensing TBZ in pear juice (21.8 ppb), orange juice (43.3 ppb) and grape juice (69.2 ppb). In addition, the procedure for fabricating the Au@Ag/PMMA/qPCR-PET film chip was easy to handle, offering a new strategy to develop flexible and wearable sensors for on-site monitoring chemical contaminants with a portable Raman spectrometer in the future.

Abstract:An effective and sensitive SERS substrate (TPDH-COF/Au NPs) on a covalent organic framework (TPDH-COF) decorated with gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) was fabricated via electrostatic self-assembly and successfully applied for the determination of thiabendazole (TBZ) in fruit juice. The "raspberry-like" structure SERS substrate combined the properties of the abundant "hot spots" between the Au NPs and the adsorption performance of TPDH-COFs for trace analytes. Excellent SERS performance was observed, which achieved a high enhancement factor value of 2.01 × 10 8 for rhodamine 6 G, with considerable reproducibility and excellent long-term stability of at least 28 d. The limit of detection was estimated to be 5 ppb for TBZ in fruit juice. The result demonstrated that the TPDH-COF/Au NPs have great potential for SERS analyses and determination of pesticide residues in foods.

Abstract:Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) is becoming an attractive technique for applications in food safety detection, environmental monitoring, disease diagnosis, and molecular identification. However, SERS substrates often suffer from low sensitivity, poor signal homogeneity, and stability. Herein, solution-processable monodisperse Ag nanoparticles (M-AgNPs) with an average diameter of 66 nm are synthesized by a size-controllable seeded-growth method. Furthermore, the M-AgNPs were coated on the surface of bacterial nanocellulose (BNC) to form flexible monodisperse Ag nanoparticles@bacterial nanocellulose (M-Ag@BNC) SERS sensors by a simple vacuum-assisted filtration. The SERS performance of flexible M-Ag@BNC substrates with various M-Ag loadings is systematically investigated. Due to the highly homogeneous distribution of M-AgNPs, the optimal M-Ag-12@BNC SERS sensor exhibits high sensitivity with a detection sensitivity of 10–13 M for methylene blue, excellent reproducibility (relative standard deviation (RSD) = 4.48%), and prominent storage stability (over 20 days). Besides, the hydrophilic BNC with good permeability and adsorption properties can absorb target molecules in the high-density hot-spot regions to further enhance SERS performance. Finite-difference time domain (FDTD) is also used to simulate and verify the strong electric field distribution of a M-AgNP-based SERS sensor. Finally, the M-Ag-12@BNC SERS sensor is successfully applied to detect pesticide residues on irregular fruit surfaces by a simple and feasible paste-and-read method. The sensitivity of a flexible M-Ag@BNC SERS sensor for thiram is up to 10–8 M. The flexible, ultrasensitive, and stable M-Ag@BNC SERS sensor exhibits potential applications in trace identification of hazardous organic molecules.

Abstract:Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is a promising method for rapid and sensitive detection of pesticide residues. Herein, a three-dimensional MoS2/Au/Ag nanostructure was developed by employing composite systems containing semiconductors, noble metal nanoparticles, and internal standard. The MoS2 nanoflowers provide abundant anchors for the loading of plasmonic nanoparticles so as to generate intense electromagnetic “hot spots,” and the Au-MBN/Ag nanostructures can increase the accuracy of SERS detection with the calibration ability of the internal standard molecules (4-mercaptobenzonitrile, 4-MBN). Therefore, the MoS2/Au/Ag nanostructures integrate the advantages of high-enhancement SERS substrates and high-accuracy ratiometric Raman detection. Moreover, the nanostructures were fabricated via a facile procedure and showed high sensitivity, accuracy, and reproducibility in SERS detection. The nanostructures also showed good linear fitting between the ratios of Raman intensity and logarithmic concentrations of analytes in ratiometric SERS analysis. In addition, thiabendazole (TBZ) in apple juice was successfully detected by using the as-prepared SERS substrates with a limit of detection down to 0.1 ppm in practical applications. To conclude, the MoS2/Au/Ag nanostructures showed excellent SERS activity in ratiometric analysis and the substrate is expected to have great potential for the quantitative detection of low-concentration pesticide residues.

Abstract:Compared to rigid surface-enhanced Raman scatting (SERS) substrates, flexible SERS substrates offer significant advantages for the detection of pesticide residues on vegetable and fruit surfaces, primarily due to their convenient sampling process and shorter detection times. However, for paper-based SERS substrates, the AuNPs are easy to form ineffective dispersion in the three-dimensional network structure of paper, resulting in unsatisfactory SERS enhancement. To address this challenge and achieve high-performance flexible SERS substrates, a novel sandwich structure is proposed. Specifically, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are aggregated on expanded graphite (EG) through a chemical enhancement process facilitated by LiCl. EG is found to improve the adsorption capacity of targeted molecules while preventing signal attenuation caused by filter papers. By employing an aggregating agent at specific concentrations, it is possible to significantly increase the amounts of hot spots to provide a more pronounced enhancement effect. Furthermore, the developed flexible SERS substrates are applied to qualitatively and quantitatively detect pesticide residues, including Thiram, Nitrofural and Dinotefuran. The flexible SERS substrates demonstrate high accuracy and robustness, making them easily storable and suitable for practical applications.

Abstract:Background In the context of modern agriculture, the proliferation of chemical use calls for enhanced pesticide detection to safeguard food quality and public health. The development of accurate testing methodologies is imperative to mitigate the environmental impact of pesticides and ensure the integrity of ecosystems, thereby reflecting the pressing need for advancements in agricultural safety protocols. Therefore, the development of highly sensitive monitoring technology for detecting pesticide residues in agricultural products is necessary for safeguarding human health, ensuring food safety, and maintaining environmental sustainability. Results Herein, a controllable surface charge on single tungsten atom-modified gold nanoparticles was used to create an electrostatic force with positively charged pesticide residues. Moreover, hydrogen bonds formed by single-atom sites can induce analyte-adsorbed nanoparticle aggregation, and the sizes of single-tungsten-atom-decorated AuNPs can maintain a gap between each other, resulting in improved SERS detection sensitivity through analyte enrichment at gold nanoparticle hotspots. In terms of the detection limits for pesticide residue analysis, we can effectively achieve an ultrahigh sensitivity of 0.1 ppb for acetamiprid, paraquat and carbendazim, which is among the best SERS sensitivities at the state of the art. For apple sample analysis, our work demonstrated good reproductivity (RSD<6%) and a strong linear relationship (R 2 ≥0.97) for 4 pesticide residues after optimizing the pretreatment process, which proves the enormous potential in quantitative analysis. Significance Single-atom sites hotspot are firstly successfully achieved and uniformly dispersed between Au nanoparticle, which can effectively increase the sensitivity, keep stability of the Raman scattering signals and possess a significant improvement beyond that of undecorated hotspots when applied in pesticide residue detection. This method can be employed as a universal strategy to capture pesticide residues at hotspots for SERS detection.

SERS detection of thiram using a 3D sea cucumber-like composite flexible porous substrate

Abstract:Nowadays, trace detection of thiram is in urgent demand due to its widespread application in agriculture and significant harmful effects on public health. In this work, a three-dimensional (3D) sea cucumber-like flexible porous surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrate composed of a poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) membrane, ZnO nanorods, gold films, and Ag nanoparticles (Ag/Au/ZnO/P) has been established for the highly sensitive detection of thiram. The substrate takes advantage of the 3D morphology of the Ag/Au/ZnO system on a flexible porous PVDF membrane to produce abundant plasmonic hot spots. Meanwhile, the employment of an AgNPs/Au shell system combined the benefits of both gold and silver metals, thus guaranteeing stable and sensitive detection. With 4-mercaptobenzoic acid (4-MBA) as a probe molecule, the Ag/Au/ZnO/P substrate exhibited excellent linear detection in the range of 10-11-10-5 M, with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.99 and an enhancement cofactor of 7.09 × 107. The substrate exhibited excellent uniformity with a related standard deviation (RSD) value of 3.82% and demonstrated high stability during a 15 d-storage test. In addition, the substrate could detect thiram in an aqueous solution at concentrations as low as 10-10 M with excellent selectivity. Meanwhile, thiram on the surface of apple peel could be easily detected by the Ag/Au/ZnO/P substrate with the "paste-and-peel" method in less than 10 s, and the detection limit could be as low as 0.48 ng cm-2. Overall, the remarkable performance of the Ag/Au/ZnO/P SERS substrate demonstrated its great potential for the environmental monitoring of thiram.

Abstract:We report a surface magnetic solid-phase extraction–surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SMSPE-SERS) method based on silver-nanoparticle-coated Fe 3 O 4 /chitosan (Fe 3 O 4 /CS@Ag) microspheres as the substrate, and this method integrates all steps from sample pretreatment to detection. Fe 3 O 4 /CS was synthesized by a one-step solvothermal method in which chitosan (CS) was used as a surface modifier and adsorbent. Fe 3 O 4 /CS@Ag microspheres exhibit both adsorption ability and SERS activity. Therefore, we used the SMSPE-SERS method to detect pesticide residues on fruit peel. The procedures of capturing, separating and enriching pesticides, as well as detection, are all integrated. In addition, the SERS substrate allows label-free detection of thiram pesticide in both fruit peel and apple juice. Owing to the uniform distribution of Ag NPs and the adsorption ability of CS, the thiram-detection sensitivity was sufficiently high to detect the lowest concentration of 1.2 ng/cm 2 , which was significantly lower than the maximum thiram residue limit (7 μg/cm 2 ) in fruits. The method was comparable to high-performance liquid chromatography with recovery ranging from 86.60 to 109.69 %.
