Abstract:The aim is to present validity evidence of the Brazilian-Portuguese Recovery Experience Questionnaire (REQ-PB) by applying a procedure to decentering cross-cultural scales translation and adaptation. First, we had a phase with bilingual experts, which assessed different criteria of translation quality. In sequence, we conducted the replication of the original research to achieve validity indicators in the Brazilian context. We carried out both Confirmatory Factor Analysis (to find structural validity indicators) and correlations with various external variables (to find convergent validity indicators). Step 1 showed promising results of decentering translation. In step 2 participated 164 workers and the CFA confirmed the four-factor model: psychological detachment from work, relaxation, mastery experience, and control over leisure time. The convergent validity showed a significant correlation with external variables. The REQ-PB showed adequate psychometric properties and may explain and compare empirical evidence of the recovery topic. We concluded that we have a good quality scale to be used in future research and integrated with other constructs to support interventions.

Validation and psychometric evaluation of the French version of the recovery experience questionnaire: internal consistency and validity assessment

Abstract:Background: Entrepreneurs often experience high levels of stress, anxiety, and burnout due to the demanding nature of their professional activities. Therefore, recovery from work-related stress is a relevant activity for entrepreneurs. The Recovery Experience Questionnaire (REQ) is a widely used 16-item self-reported measure covering four recovery factors: psychological detachment from work, relaxation, mastery, and control. The present study addresses the validation of a French version of the REQ. Methods: A total of 1,043 French entrepreneurs from various sectors participated in this study. Internal consistency and correlations were examined to assess the psychometric properties of the French version of the REQ. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to validate the four-factor structure of the REQ, with seven error covariances added to improve model fit. Results: The French version of the REQ demonstrated good internal consistency (psychological detachment: α = 0.88, relaxation: α = 0.91, mastery: α = 0.90, control: α = 0.91). CFA supported that the four-factor structure was confirmed based on the following data: RMSEA = 0.071 (95% CI [0.066, 0.077]), CFI/TLI = 0.955/0.950, SRMR = 0.050, and χ2 (108) = 593.861, p < 0.001. Significant correlations were found between REQ scores and health indicators such as stress, loneliness, physical health, mental health, and sleep quality. The results confirm that the REQ is a valid and reliable measure for assessing recovery experiences among French entrepreneurs. Conclusion: We conclude that the REQ is a valid measure and a useful tool for research on entrepreneurs' general health. Additionally, the validated French version of the REQ can be applied to other working populations, making it a versatile instrument for evaluating health and recovery in diverse occupational settings. To support this claim, we conducted the same validation analysis on a sample of 1,231 French agricultural employees, again showing that REQ is a valid and reliable measure for assessing recovery experiences.

Abstract:Abstract Background Supporting personal recovery in people with mental health difficulties is central to mental health services. This study aimed to develop the Japanese version of INSPIRE and Brief INSPIRE measure of staff support for personal recovery and to evaluate its reliability and validity. Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted from October to December 2015. The authors asked users to participate in the survey of 14 community mental health services in the Kanto region of Japan. The service users completed self-administered questionnaires that include the Japanese version of INSPIRE, the Recovery Assessment Scale, the Client Satisfaction Questionnaire, the patient version of the Scale to Assess Therapeutic Relationship in Community Mental Health care and the Short Form Health Survey. Internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, and test-retest reliability was assessed using the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and weighted kappa. Convergent validity was examined by assessing correlation with other scales. Factor validity was evaluated by exploratory factor analysis (EFA) with generalized least-squares mean and oblimin rotation. In addition, confirmatory factor analysis was used to check the fitness of the factor structure models derived from the EFA. Results A total of 195 out of 212 users gave written informed consent and participated in the study. Data from 190 respondents were analyzed (response rate 89.6%). INSPIRE, Brief INSPIRE, and the subscales all showed Cronbach’s alpha coefficient over 0.78. ICC and weighted kappa derived more than 0.92 for subscales and Brief INSPIRE. These numerical values indicated good reliability. The convergent validity of Brief INSPIRE and the subscales was significantly positively correlated with the other scales. Different from the previous study, the factor structure was extracted using EFA. Both factor structures were checked by CFA, but the degree of fitness index was not good in either. Therefore, the factor analysis did not show goodness of fit. Conclusions This study found the Japanese version of INSPIRE and Brief INSPIRE to be reliable and valid for use among community mental health service users in Japan.

Abstract:Drawing on the mood regulation and job-stress recovery literature, four self-report measures for assessing how individuals unwind and recuperate from work during leisure time were developed (Study 1). Confirmatory factor analyses with a calibration and a cross-validation sample (total N=930) showed that four recovery experiences can be differentiated: psychological detachment from work, relaxation, mastery, and control (Study 2). Examination of the nomological net in a subsample of Study 2 (N=271) revealed moderate relations of the recovery experiences with measures of job stressors and psychological well-being; relations with coping and personality variables were generally low (Study 3). Potential applications for the future use of these short 4-item measures in longitudinal and diary research are discussed.

Abstract:We consider two analytical models for the calculation of the current-voltage characteristics of GaAs FET's. The first model which we call a "square law model" provides an accurate description of GaAs FETs with low pinchoff voltages (less than 2 V or so for GaAs devices with a 1-µm gate) and an approximate description of GaAs FETs with higher pinchoff voltages, The second model which we call a "complete velocity saturation" model accurately describes high pinchoff voltage devices (higher than 3 V or so for GaAs FETs with a 1-µm gate), but cosiderably overestimates the drain-to-source current in low pinchoff voltage FET's.

Abstract:Abstract Background Measuring progress in treatment is essential for systematic evaluation by service users and their care providers. In low-intensity community mental healthcare, a questionnaire to measure progress in treatment should be aimed at personal recovery and should require little effort to complete. Methods The Individual Recovery Outcome Counter (I.ROC) was translated from English into Dutch, and psychometric evaluations were performed. Data were collected on personal recovery (Recovery Assessment Scale), quality of life (Manchester Short Assessment of Quality of Life), and symptoms of mental illness and social functioning (Outcome Questionnaire, OQ-45) for assessing the validity of the I.ROC. Test–retest reliability was evaluated by calculating the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient and internal consistency was evaluated by calculating Cronbach’s alpha. Exploratory factor analysis was performed to determine construct validity. To assess convergent validity, the I.ROC was compared to relevant questionnaires by calculating Pearson correlation coefficients. To evaluate discriminant validity, I.ROC scores of certain subgroups were compared using either a t-test or analysis of variance. Results There were 764 participants in this study who mostly completed more than one I.ROC (total n = 2,863). The I.ROC aimed to measure the concept of personal recovery as a whole, which was confirmed by a factor analysis. The test–retest reliability was satisfactory (Intraclass Correlation Coefficient is 0.856), as were the internal consistency (Cronbachs Alpha is 0.921) and the convergent validity. Sensitivity to change was small, but comparable to that of the OQ-45. Conclusions The Dutch version of the I.ROC appears to have satisfactory psychometric properties to warrant its use in daily practice. Discriminant validity and sensitivity to change need further research.

Abstract:Objective: The support of the personal recovery of people with lived experience of mental illness is a major issue in clinical practice. Thus, a valid instrument to assess personal recovery is needed. The present study aimed to validate the French translation of the 22-item Questionnaire about the Process of Recovery (QPR-Fr). Method: A convenience sample of 222 participants reporting a severe mental illness diagnosis was recruited online. Psychometric properties of the QPR-Fr were evaluated. A confirmatory factor analysis was conducted for structural validity. Internal consistency and test–retest reliability were assessed. To test for convergent validity, we conducted multiple linear regression analysis to explore the QPR-Fr associations with psychological distress and the CHIME framework (with Connectedness, Hope and optimism about the future, Identity, Meaning in life, and Empowerment) proxy measures (perceived social support, hope, self-esteem, quality of life, and empowerment). Results: An adequate fit was found for a 19-item unidimensional factor structure. Internal consistency was excellent. Test reliability was good. The QPR-Fr total score was significantly positively associated with quality of life, hope, self-esteem, and social support satisfaction and negatively associated with psychological distress. No significant association was found with social support availability nor with empowerment. Conclusions and Implications for Practice: This study provides additional data to support the cross-cultural validity of the Questionnaire about the Process of Recovery. The QPR-Fr is a valid and reliable tool to assess personal recovery. Practitioners could use the QPR-Fr to assess personal recovery in collaboration with people with lived experience. Abstract:The Flourishing Scale (FS) was developed to measure individual psychological well-being. The FS was developed based on psychological well-being theories that include meaning and purpose in life, involvement in activities, social relationships, and feelings of competence. The psychometric properties of the FS have been studied in several countries. However, research that provides reports on reliability and validity for the Indonesian version of the FS is limited. The aim of the study was, therefore, to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Indonesian version of FS which include reliability, internal structure, and convergent validity. 1129 respondents completed the FS, Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE), and Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ-9). The Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients indicate a good internal consistency of the FS. The result of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis confirmed that a single-factor structure of the FS fit to the data. The result of the Multi-Group Confirmatory Factor Analysis showed measurement invariance across two subsamples. The results of the correlation test show a significant correlation between the FS with the SPANE and PHQ-9. Taken together, the Indonesian version of the FS can be considered a reliable and valid instrument to measure psychological well-being for Indonesian people.

Abstract:Aim: To translate the Rushton Moral Resilience Scale (RMRS) into Japanese and validate its applicability among Japanese healthcare professionals. Background: To overcome daily challenges in the field of healthcare, in which moral difficulties are routinely encountered, the development of intervention methods to address moral suffering and moral distress is crucial. Methods: We conducted a cross‐sectional survey using a web‐based questionnaire. The RMRS‐16 was translated into Japanese and confirmed through back‐translation. Reliability analyses (Cronbach's alpha and intraclass correlation coefficient [ICC]), confirmatory factor analyses (CFAs), correlation analyses, t‐tests, and analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to assess the validity of the scale. Results: Participants comprised 1295 healthcare professionals, including 498 nurses. All subscales and the total scale had acceptable reliability values (α ≥ 0.70). CFA supported the original four‐factor structure (response to moral adversity, personal integrity, relational integrity, and moral efficacy), with acceptable fit indices. The ANOVA results suggested that, among Japanese healthcare professionals, nurses and individuals from other professions showed lower average moral resilience scores compared to physicians, consistent with previous research on mental health and moral distress. In addition, women scored lower for moral resilience than men. However, the ICC values for the subscales of the RMRS were below acceptable levels, and the results of the standardized residual covariances also suggested a model misfit. Conclusion and Implications: The reliability, validity, and utility of the Japanese version of the RMRS were generally supported. However, there were areas at the item level that required structural examination. The current findings suggest that there are cultural differences in the concept of moral resilience. Therefore, for future cultural comparisons, the original four‐factor structure was maintained in the Japanese version without modifications. Further conceptual development of moral resilience is needed in Japanese healthcare.

Abstract:Logs are very important as they provide details of a systems past events as well as help in system monitoring, troubleshooting and forensics. In order to be useful the logging process must be done in a secure manner and logging files must be kept secure for an extended period of time as they may contain sensitive information. However, deploying a logging infrastructure is an expensive and time-consuming task. A natural solution to this problem these days is to use cloud storage for keeping logs, because of the benefits provided by cloud computing thus delegating the log management to a cloud service provider (CSP). This paper introduces secure log as a service using reversible watermarking (SecLaaS-RW) scheme. Reversible watermarking is a type of fragile watermarking, which can be used for content authentication. The content in our case are outsourced logs, to which reversible watermarking is applied. Log records are collected using syslog, processed at the logging server and then transferred to an outsource cloud storage, where all records are saved for extended period of time. We have made comparison with a recently proposed scheme. The Japanese Workplace PERMA-Profiler: A validation study among Japanese workers

Abstract:Objectives: Although well-being at work is important for occupational health, multi-dimensional workplace well-being measures do not exist for Japanese workers. The purpose of this study was to investigate the validity of the Japanese version of the Workplace PERMA-Profiler. Methods: Japanese workers completed online surveys at baseline (N = 310) and 1 month later (N = 100). The Workplace PERMA-Profiler was translated according to international guidelines. Job and life satisfaction, work engagement, psychological distress, work-related psychosocial factors, and work performance were measured as comparisons for convergent validity. Cronbach's alphas, Intra-class Correlation Coefficients (ICCs), and measurement errors were calculated for the reliability, and the validity of the measure was tested by correlational analyses and confirmatory factor analysis. Results: A total of 310 (baseline) and 86 (follow-up) workers responded and were included in the analyses. Cronbach's alphas and ICCs of the Japanese Workplace PERMA-Profiler ranged from 0.75 to 0.96. Confirmatory factor analysis indicated that the 5-factor model demonstrated a marginally acceptable fit (χ2 (80) = 351.30, CFI = 0.892, TLI = 0.858, RMSEA = 0.105, SRMR = 0.051). Overall well-being and the five PERMA domains had moderate-to-strong correlations with job satisfaction, psychological distress (inversely), and work-related factors. Conclusions: The Japanese version of the Workplace PERMA-Profiler demonstrated adequate reliability and validity. This measure could be useful to assess well-being at work, promote well-being research among Japanese workers, and address the problem of definition for well-being in further studies.
Validation of the Indonesian Version of the Inventory of Statements About Self-Injury (ISAS) Questionnaire

Abstract:Objective: This current study aimed to validate the Indonesian version of the Inventory of Statements About Self-Injury (ISAS) questionnaire, which provides a better understanding of Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) disorders. Method : The study used a cross-sectional design and involved 314 adolescents and young adults in high school or university. A stratified sampling method was used. All participants filled out the ISAS questionnaire. Data were analyzed for content validity, construct validity, item discrimination value, and internal consistency (Croncbach's α). The translation process was carried out using forward and back-translation methods. Results: The ISAS questionnaire consists of section I, the behavioral scale, and section II, the functional scale. For content validity, Aiken's V coefficient obtained for both scale sections I and II is in the range of 0.917 - 1. This result shows that all items on the scale have very good validity. Confirmatory Factor Analyses were carried out using Lisrel 8.80 software on section II, resulting in several goodness of fit values that were not good enough (χ2 = 457.68; P < 0.000; df = 64; χ2 / df = 7.151, RMSEA = 0.130) and several other values that are quite acceptable (CFI = 0.95; SRMS = 0.057; NFI = 0.95; GFI = 0.83). The factor loading from section II ranges from 0.43 - 0.91. The item discrimination value using the corrected item-total correlation of section I is in the range of 0.031 - 0.837 and section II ranges from 0.290 - 0.854. The reliability analysis values in section I and II of the ISAS are α = 0.527 and α = 0.966, respectively. Conclusion: This is the first study to have validated the Indonesian version of the ISAS questionnaire. The Indonesian version of the ISAS questionnaire is considered a valid and reliable instrument to assess NSSI disorders.
Recovery Assessment Scale: Testing validity with Portuguese community-based mental health organization users.

Abstract:The aim of the present study was to develop the Portuguese version of the Recovery Assessment Scale (RAS-P), and to assess the validity of the findings using the revised test, with 213 users from 5 nonprofit community-based mental health organizations. Participants in the assessment completed a self-reported survey investigating their sense of personal recovery, personal empowerment, capabilities achievement, psychiatric symptoms' frequency, and demographic data. Evidence from exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses using the 24-item version of the test, validated a 4-factor structure for the RAS-P model based on the dimensions of Personal Goals and Hope, Managing Help Needs, Supportive Interpersonal Relationships, and Life Beyond Symptoms, consistent with components of the recovery process. Convergent and discriminant validity was also achieved using bivariate correlation coefficients among the 4 subscales' scores, between the overall scale and the subscales, and in relation to external variables. Findings allowed for the interpretation that the RAS-P is measuring a particular psychological construct, which is different from symptoms of the mental illness. A hypothesized significant association with personal empowerment and with capabilities achievement was demonstrated. Positive association was also found between participants' use of recovery-oriented services such as independent housing or supported employment programs. The RAS-P scores also revealed excellent internal consistency for the overall scale (α = .90), and good consistency for the subscales (>.75), which attest to its precision in measurement. In conclusion, the study proved the RAS-P a reliable and useful tool in the context of the community mental health practice.

Abstract:Context: Although researchers have directed scholars toward investigating the effectiveness of the nonwork personal time of athletic trainers (ATs), no one has characterized the occupational recovery experiences of ATs. Objective: To examine the reliability and validity of the Recovery Experience Questionnaire (REQ) for use in AT populations. Design: Cross-sectional study. Setting: Web-based survey. Patients or other participants: A total of 144 ATs (71 men, 73 women) working in a variety of National Collegiate Athletic Association sports across all levels of competition. Main outcome measure(s): The REQ was administered to assess the AT recovery experience. Results: Preliminary evidence emerged for the reliability (ω = 0.80-0.90) and validity of the REQ for use in AT populations. Weak linear relationships were identified between stress and perceptions of psychological detachment (r = -0.314, P < .001), mastery (r = -0.179, P = .32), control (r = -0.284, P = .001), and relaxation (r = -0.157, P = .06). Conclusions: Our results support measuring and applying occupational recovery for AT stress and work-life balance. Given that occupational recovery as a construct was only weakly related to stress, it is clearly a unique and distinct variable worth considering within the work-life balance line of inquiry.
Cross-cultural adaptation, reliability, and validity of the work role functioning questionnaire 2.0 to Persian

Abstract:Purpose: To translate and cross-culturally adapt, the Work Role Functioning Questionnaire 2.0 to Persian (WRFQ-Pr), and evaluate reliability and validity. Material and methods: Standardized protocols were followed including forward-backward translation then synthesis/consolidation. Subsequent pilot investigation of the draft WRFQ-Pr (n = 50, male = 68%, age = 33.5 ± 7.3 years) tested the alternative wording and determined face and content validity through readability, understandability, interpretation, and cultural relevance. Participants (n = 288) were recruited from a convenience sample to assess: construct validity through exploratory factor analysis (EFA) using Promax rotation and maximum least squares extraction; and internal consistency using Cronbach's α coefficient. Test-retest reliability was evaluated from the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC2.1). Results: The forward-backward translation was achieved with eight items (1,3,4,5,9,11,12,22) modified and reformulated due to idiomatic issues. Internal consistency for the subscales ranged from α = 0.87-0.95, and the test-retest reliability was ICC(2,1)=0.92 (CI: 0.89-0.95). The EFA showed a four-factor solution, being identical to the original version, however items 20-22 loaded with items 23-26 in one factor, which was re-named "flexibility and social demand." One item (#26) did not load above the required 0.30 threshold and was removed from the WRFQ-Pr. No floor or ceiling effects were found. Conclusions: The WRFQ translation and cross-cultural adaptation to Persian (WRFQ-Pr) was performed successfully. The determined properties of reliability and validity were comparable to those of the original English version.IMPLICATIONS FOR REHABILITATIONThe WRFW can simultaneously evaluate the health status of the worker, the existence of impairments, the involved factors in creating ability/disability at work, and the outcome of the interventions.There is no instrument available for the Persian-speaking population to evaluate related disability at work and the condition of return to work after a rehabilitation intervention.The WRFQ was translated and culturally adapted into Persian.The WRFW-Pr demonstrated excellent internal consistency, test-retest reliability and a four-factor structure.

Abstract:Introduction: Emotion dysregulation is a transdiagnostic marker for vulnerability and has high comorbidity rates across various range of disorders among adolescents and young adults, highlighting the crucial need for precise assessment tools to recognize its significant impact on well-being. The Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale Short Form (DERS-SF) is a comprehensive instrument designed to measure the ability to regulate emotion. This study aimed to investigate the psychometric properties of DERS-SF among the non-clinical population, particularly high school and university students in Indonesia. Methods: A total of 738 senior high school and university students completed the Indonesian version of DERS-SF and standard questionnaires to assess its validity, consisting of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS), the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) for young adults and the Children Depression Inventory (CDI) for adolescents. Three models were examined in factorial validity tests using confirmatory factor analysis. Results: The results showed that DERS-SF had an overall good internal consistency with Cronbach's alpha coefficient of.89 for the 18-item version,.90 for the 17-item version, and.91 for the 15-item version. Test-retest reliability was moderate with a value of.67. In addition, it had good satisfactory content as shown by item content validity index (I-CVI) = .96 and scale content validity index (S-CVI) = .83, as well as convergent validity. All subscales scores showed a positive and strong correlation with DASS, BDI-II, and CDI except awareness. Based on confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), the correlated 6-factor model excluding item number 6, and the 5-factor model excluding awareness were suitable to use in non-clinical populations. Conclusion: This study established the removal of the awareness subscale in the DERS-SF Indonesian version, resulting in better reliability and validity than the original version with complete subscales.

Development and Validation of a Resilience Skills Questionnaire for Health Sector Professionals Based on Social Cognitive Theory

Abstract:Good resilience skills support effective and timely adjustment to demanding situations in the workplace. Existing tools are insufficient to develop and evaluate workplace interventions to improve employee's resilience skills. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a Resilience Skills Questionnaire (RSQ) using the key constructs of social cognitive theory—self-efficacy, self-regulation, and social support—as a theoretical framework. Following DeVellis' guidelines for scale development, first an expert panel of thirteen professors was recruited to support the item development stages and determine content validity. At this stage, the initial pool of 38 items was reduced to 25 items and CVR and CVI were calculated as 0.92 and 0.93, respectively, indicating good content validity. A second panel of ten health professionals confirmed face validity. An online survey comprised of the 25 developed items was then completed by 336 health professionals working in urban healthcare centers in Shiraz, Iran, in November 2021. The data were used to assess the psychometrics of the questionnaire according to its hypothesized three-dimensional structure. Confirmatory factor analysis yielded a final model of seventeen items in three dimensions, self-efficacy (six items), social support (six items), and self-regulation (five items), with good psychometric properties ( χ2/df=2.44 ( p<0.001 ), RMSEA=0.06 , GFI=0.92 , AGFI=0.90 , IFI=0.93 , CFI=0.93 ). All standardized factor loadings were significant ( p<0.001 ). Internal consistency, as measured by Cronbach's alpha, was very good: RSQ (0.90), self-efficacy (0.86), social support (0.83), and self-regulation (0.86). Based on these results, the RSQ can be used as a standard and valid measure to develop and evaluate the effect of educational intervention programs to improve resilience skills and reduce job stress.

Abstract:Depression and anxiety represent significant global health concerns, with a particularly high prevalence observed in economically disadvantaged developing countries. The availability of reliable and culturally relevant assessment instruments is crucial for the effective diagnosis and intervention of mental health issues, particularly among adolescents. The objective of this study was to adapt the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales for Youth (DASS-Y) into an Indonesian version (IDASS-Y) and to evaluate its psychometric properties among Indonesian adolescents. A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted in West Sumatra Province and Yogyakarta Province, Indonesia. The study entailed a cross-cultural adaptation of the DASS-Y into the IDASS-Y through a five-step process and a psychometric evaluation. The study sample consisted of 255 adolescents between the ages of 16 and 18, recruited from two public senior high schools. The psychometric assessment comprised content validity testing, construct validity testing through exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and reliability testing. The IDASS-Y has demonstrated robust psychometric properties. The content validity was found to be high, with an overall S-CVI/Ave of 0.95. The EFA demonstrated a consistent three-factor structure corresponding to depression, anxiety, and stress, with no alterations to the item dimensions. The CFA results yielded a good model fit, as indicated by the following values: χ2/df ratio = 2.553; RMSEA = 0.022; CFI = 1.000; SRMR = 0.083. The internal consistency of the scale was satisfactory, with Cronbach's alpha coefficients of 0.897 for depression, 0.893 for anxiety, and 0.884 for stress, and an overall alpha of 0.948. Additionally, McDonald's omega coefficients were notably high, at 0.897 for depression, 0.894 for anxiety, and 0.874 for stress, with an overall omega of 0.949. The Indonesian version of the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales for Youth (IDASS-Y) is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing depression, anxiety, and stress among Indonesian adolescents. It retains the original conceptual framework of the DASS-Y and demonstrates strong psychometric properties, making it suitable for both research and clinical use.
