Abstract:Cadmium is a heavy metal pollutant in environment with high toxicity that severely threats human health. A simple and sensitive method for rapid detection of cadmium ions in water sample is of significant importance. In this paper, a colorimetric method based on aptamer-functionalized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) for specific recognition were proposed to realize Cd2+ detection. AuNPs aggregate in high-salt solutions because of the shielding of salt to electrostatic repulsion among AuNPs, while aptamers can strengthen the stability of AuNPs and avoid the aggregation. After adding Cd2+ ions, the specific interaction between aptamers and Cd2+ leads to a decrease of free aptamers, which weakens the stability of the AuNPs and results in the color change of the solution. The colorimetric change can be rapidly captured and analyzed by a self-developed smartphone-based colorimetric system (SBCS) within 10 min, which implements the quantitative detection of Cd2+. The results show that Cd2+ ions can be detected with high selectivity and sensitivity with a linear range of 2-20 mu g/L and a detection limit of 1.12 mu g/L. Compared with other methods, the proposed approach features high sensitivity, high simplicity, easy implementation and high throughout, which provides a promising means for in-situ determination of Cd2+ in practical applications.

Abstract:Heavy-metal ions detection conventionally relies on standard instruments that are complicated, time-consuming and constrained to laboratories. To mitigate this problem, we developed a hand-held and cost-effective smartphone-integrated analysis platform that allows fast identification of heavy-metal ions pollution caused by industrial wastewater discharge. This portable platform integrates a colorimetric sensor array consisting of plasmonic nanocolorants and organic chromophores to detect typical heavy-metal ions at the ppm level within 15 s. The image of the colorimetric sensor array is transmitted to the Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) imager of the smartphone via 96 individual optical fibers, generating RGB differential fingerprints and quantitatively analyzed by pattern recognition algorithms. Facile identification of 13 common heavy-metal ions (Hg2+, Cd2+, Cr6+, Pb2+, Ni2+, Se4+, Mg2+, Ba2+, Zn2+, As3+, Mn6+, Fe3+, Cu2+) was demonstrated using several different multivariate analyses of the digital data library, including principal component and hierarchical cluster analysis. Furthermore, we demonstrated the multiplexed detection and classification of 4 typical industrial wastewater models (Electroplating, Battery, Metallurgical, Pesticide waste-water) and real water samples with this portable platform, and achieved good discrimination and reproducibility. Combined with edge computing of smartphones and Internet-of-Things (IoT) cloud infrastructure, the portable platform shows feasible potential for pollution traceability, environmental monitoring, and water quality analysis.

Abstract:Monitoring the levels of potentially toxic metal ions such as Hg(2+) in aquatic ecosystems is important because this ion can have severe effects on human health and the environment. Thus, a novel chemiluminescence (CL) sensor is developed for the highly selective and ultrasensitive detection of Hg(2+) ions in aqueous solution, based on thymine-Hg(2+)-thymine (T-Hg(2+)-T) coordination chemistry and subsequent formation of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) in a HAuCl(4)/NH(2)OH reaction. The thus-formed Au NPs trigger the reaction between luminol and AgNO(3), producing CL emission. This novel CL technique has several advantages including high sensitivity (0.01 ppb) and selectivity over a spectrum of interfering metal ions. In view of these advantages, as well as the cost-effective, minimized working steps and portable features of the CL techniques, we expect that this CL sensor will be a promising candidate for the field detection of toxic Hg(2+) ions in environment, water, and food samples.
Achieving smartphone-based colorimetric assay for Hg2+ with a bimetallic site strategy based on Hg2+-triggered oxidase-like catalytic activity of NSC/Co6Ni3S8 nanocomposite

Abstract:Modulation of the nanozyme's catalytic activity is crucial for its real applications in detecting target analytes. Herein, we fabricated the nanocomposite (NSC/Co6Ni3S8) of N, S co-doped carbon and Co6Ni3S8 by a facile sol-gel approach. Compared to NSC/Ni9S8, NSC/Co6Ni3S8 with bimetallic active sites displayed better enzyme-mimetic activity. This nanocomposite could catalyze O2 to form ·O2- and oxidize colorless 3, 3', 5, 5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) into blue oxTMB. The other two free radicals (h+ and ·OH) played minor roles during the catalytic reaction. Hg2+ could integrate with S2- to form HgS and the surface charges of O2 were transferred to Hg2+ to promote O2 adsorption. DFT theoretical calculations highlight that the main reasons for the enhancing effect of Hg2+ on color development results from electron transfer and increased adsorption energy of O2 molecules onto the surface of NSC/Co6Ni3S8. By employing the oxidase-like activity of NSC/Co6Ni3S8 and Hg2+-triggered promoting effect, a colorimetric sensing platform was established for Hg2+ assay with a linear range of 10-200 μg/L and detection limit of 3 μg/L. Through integration with a smartphone-based APP "Thing Identify" software, a visual colorimetric assay for Hg2+ was constructed with a detection limit of 5 μg/L. Compared to the data detected by the mercury vapor meter, the relative recoveries of 92.4-108.1% evidenced the higher accuracy of this smartphone-based visual detection. Overall, the NSC/Co6Ni3S8-based colorimetric assay is convenient, rapid, and visual, and can be applied for routine monitoring of Hg2+ in real-world waters under outdoor conditions.
Portable smartphone-assisted highly sensitive detection of mercury ions based on gold nanoparticle-modified NH2-UiO-66 metal-organic framework

Abstract:A novel portable smartphone-assisted colorimetric method was reported for the determination of Hg2+ with good analytical performance. A Zr(IV)-based metal-organic framework functionalized with amino groups (NH2-UiO-66) has been adopted as a supporting platform to anchor gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), avoiding the migration and aggregation of AuNPs. With the addition of Hg2+, the formation of gold amalgam proved possible to enhance peroxidase-like activity of the composite (AuNPs/NH2-UiO-66), accelerating the oxidization of zymolyte 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). In the meantime, the color of the reaction solution turned a vivid blue, and the red, green, and blue (RGB) values of the solution color changed accordingly. On account of this strategy, the quantitative detection of Hg2+ could be achieved. After the optimization of the experiment conditions, the average color intensity (Ic) resulting from RGB values was linear related to the concentration of Hg2+ from 10 to 100 nM, accompanied with a detection limit (LOD) down to 5.4 nM calculated by 3σ/S. The successful application of the designed method has been promoted to detect Hg2+ in some water samples, displaying a great potential in practical application. Furthermore, the use of a smartphone made our proposed method simple and accurate, and thus puts forward a possible way for in situ and real-time monitoring.

Abstract:A novel ratiometric fluorescence probe based on nitrogen-doped blue carbon dots (NCDs) and red gold nanoclusters (Au NCs) for mercuric ion (Hg2+) has been prepared and characterized. A user friendly fluorescent test paper based sensor combined with smartphone was fabricated for rapid visual and quantitative detection. Hg 2+ can specifically bind to Au + on the surface of Au NCs, leading to the quench of red fluorescence while the fluorescence intensity of the NCDs with blue fluorescence remained unchanged as a internal standard signal. The implement of paper-based sensor address some common drawback in analytical process such as the detection time, analysis cost. In a further demonstration, a homemade detection device with smartphone was used to qualify the Hg 2+ . After adding different concentration of Hg 2+ , red, purple, and blue colors were obtained on the detection zones of the fluorescent test paper. The Android App Color Grab was used to identify the red, green and blue (RGB) values of fluorescent color. The rapid visual and quantitative detection of Hg 2+ was accomplished with the detection limit of 2.7 nM for fluorescence, 25 nM for smartphone and 32 nM for paper strip. The developed multi-mode detection platform was successfully applied to the detection of mercury ions in water samples with acceptable recoveries. The NCDs and Au NCs probe facilitate the one-site environmental monitoring for Hg 2+ with “naked-eye” and smartphone.

Abstract:The abnormal accumulation of mercury (Hg 2+ ) ions in the human body can cause serious health problems. Therefore, there is growing interest on developing fluorescence-based methods for the facile, cost-effective and real-time detection of Hg 2+ ions in environmental samples. Herein, red-emitting papain-stabilized gold nanoclusters (pap-AuNCs) were post-functionalized with salicylaldehyde (SA) and employed for the detection of Hg 2+ ions. When SA was added to pap-AuNCs (λ ex = 380 nm, λ em = 670 nm), an imine linkage was formed between the free –NH 2 group of papain functionalized over AuNCs and –CHO group of SA, resulting in the formation of orange-emitting SA_pap-AuNCs (λ em = 498 nm, 670 nm). Upon the addition of Hg 2+ , the modified SA_pap-AuNCs showed an instantaneous and selective fluorescence quenching at 670 nm due to the metallophilic Hg 2+ -Au + interactions without altering the fluorescence intensity at 498 nm, which led to the fluorescent colour change from orange to green. The fluorescent colour change of SA_pap-AuNCs was integrated with a smartphone for the on-site cost-effective detection of Hg 2+ . Without any interference from other metal ions, the fluorescence spectral and colour responses from SA_pap-AuNCs can be used to detect Hg 2+ ions down to 0.43 μM and 3.74 μM, respectively. Finally, the practical application of SA_pap-AuNCs was validated by quantifying Hg 2+ in real environmental water samples.

Abstract:Herein, we describe a competitive-type electrochemiluminescence (ECL) strategy for Hg2+ determination based on the peroxydisulfate/oxygen (S2O82-/O-2) system that uses Pt/Pd nanodendrites (Pt/Pd NDs)-thiosemicarbazide/norfloxacin (TN)-covered gold nanoparticles (Pt/Pd-TNG(50)) as a signal enhancer. The Pt/Pd NDs, a dense array of Pt branches on a Pd core, possessed excellent catalytic properties to enhance ECL intensity by accelerating electron transfer. In addition, the binary intramolecular synergy of TN, which had cooperative interactions of powerful - stacking with a larger conjugated surface, could extremely enhance the ECL signal of the S2O82-/O-2 system. Furthermore, we designed a competitive immunoassay method using a structured sensor where a monoclonal antibody (mAb) against Hg2+ exhibited high specificity and recognition of Hg2+, which greatly improved the specificity and sensitivity of the immunosensor. As a result, the proposed immunosensor gave Hg2+ detection with a low detection limit (16 pg mL(-1)) and displayed high sensitivity and stability. Importantly, this work not only, for the first time to our knowledge, utilized Pt/Pd NDs as promising ECL emitters for bioprobe construction but also opened an efficient way for the detection of Hg2+ in environmental monitoring.
A Smartphone Readout Device for Portable and Sensitive Estimation of Hg2+ Via Coumarin-Modified Paper

Abstract:The development of cost-effective sensing system for Hg2+ quantitation is highly demanded for environmental monitoring. In this work, we reported an on-site, rapid and portable smartphone-based Hg2+ sensing system integrating coumarin-modified paper as a probe and smartphone readout device as a processing platform. For fluorescent sensing of Hg2+, the modified paper was fabricated by chemically grafting a coumarin-based probe N-((7-hydroxy-coumarin-3-yl)carbamothioyl)acetamide (HCCA) onto paper, and its physicochemical properties and sensing performance were characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, XPS, SEM, and fluorescence spectral analysis. The modified paper displayed high selectivity and sensitivity for Hg2+, accompanied with a distinct fluorescence color change. For portable detection of the fluorescent sensors, a smartphone readout device was designed, consisting of a removable 3D-printed hardware device and an application. Remarkably, the smartphone readout device in cooperation with the modified paper is highly selective and sensitive to Hg2+ with the limit of detection (LOD) of 0.46 ppb, which avoids the requirement of sophisticated equipment and complex operation. The cost-effective sensing system based on smartphone shows a great potential for monitoring of Hg2+ in environmental water.
Preparation of Orange-Red Fluorescent Gold Nanoclusters Using Denatured Casein As a Reductant and Stabilizing Agent, and Their Application to Imaging of HeLa Cells and for the Quantitation of Mercury(ii)

Abstract:We describe a method for the preparation of water-soluble gold nanoclusters (Au-NCs) from chloroauric acid using denatured-casein as both a reducing and stabilizing agent. The resulting Au-NCs were characterized by photoluminescence, UV–vis absorption, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies, and by transmission electron microscopy. The Au-NCs have an average diameter of 1.7 ± 0.2 nm and exhibit orange-red fluorescence emission peaking at 600 nm (with a Stokes’ shift as large as 237 nm), a quantum yield of 4.3 %, and good stability over the physiologically relevant range of pH values and ionic strength. Cytotoxicity studies showed the Au-NCs to display negligible effects in terms of altering cell proliferation or triggering apoptosis. Fluorescence imaging of HeLa cancer cells was accomplished by loading such cells with the Au-NCs. The fluorescence of the Au-NCs is found to be strongly quenched by Hg(II) ions, and thus the Au-NCs can be used for detecting and, possibly, imaging of Hg(II). An assay was worked out for the determination of Hg(II), and its limit of detection is 1.83 nM, which is 5.5 times lower than the maximum allowed concentration of Hg(II) in drinking water as defined by the US EPA.

Abstract:Hg2+ contamination poses a serious threat to the environment and human health. Although gold nanoclusters (Au NCs) have been utilized as fluorescence probes or colorimetric nanozymes for performing Hg2+ assays by using a single method, designing multifunctional nanoclusters as fluorescent nanozyme remains challenging. Herein, Ce-aggregated gold nanoclusters (Ce-Au NCs) were reported with "three in one" functions to generate strong fluorescence, excellent peroxidase-like activity, and the highly specific recognition of Hg2+ via its metallophilic interaction. A portable fluorescence and colorimetric dual-mode sensing device based on Ce-Au NCs was developed for on-site visual analysis of Hg2+. In the presence of Hg2+, fluorescence was effectively quenched and the paper-based chips gradually darkened from green till they became completely absent, while peroxidase-like activity was significantly enhanced. Two independent signals were captured by one identification unit, which provided self-validation to improve reliability and accuracy. Therefore, this work presents a simple synthesis of a multifunctional fluorescent nanozyme, and the developed portable device for on-site visual detection has considerable potential for application in the rapid on-site analysis of heavy metal ions in the environment.
Smartphone-enabled colorimetric determination of silver ions exploiting the peroxidase-mimetic behavior of bowl-shaped Pd 3 Pt nanocrystals

Abstract:Excessive silver ions (Ag + ) pose significant risks to both human health and the environment, necessitating the rapid and sensitive detection of Ag + in aqueous systems to ensure public health and environmental safety. In this study, we present a novel and expeditious colorimetric methodology for Ag + detection, employing bowl-shaped Pd 3 Pt nanocrystals as an effective probe. The distinctive bowl-like structure of Pd 3 Pt provides an abundance of catalytic active sites, endowing them with peroxidase-like activity. Upon exposure to hydrogen peroxide, these Pd 3 Pt nanobowls facilitate the oxidation of the colorless substrate 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB), resulting in the formation of the blue product oxTMB, which exhibits a pronounced characteristic absorption peak at 652 nm. By virtue of the metal affinity and electrostatic attraction between Ag + ions and Pd 3 Pt nanobowls, Ag + species effectively adsorb onto the nanobowls surface, preferentially occupying the catalytic active sites and impeding the production of the blue oxTMB product. Based on this mechanism, we have established a novel colorimetric approach for the quantitative determination of Ag + , enabling facile Ag + detection using either a UV–vis absorption spectrometer or a smartphone as the detection instrument. The developed method demonstrates an impressive detectable range spanning 1–100 nmol/L, accompanied by a detection limit of 0.72 nmol/L. Notably, this technique boasts several desirable attributes, including rapid detection, simplified operational procedures, heightened sensitivity, and commendable selectivity. Moreover, we have successfully applied this method to assess Ag + levels in water samples procured from diverse sources, further attesting to its practical utility and versatility.

Abstract:Fluorescence-based visual analysis has attracted considerable attention in on-site, detection owing to their distinct color gradient changes, easy operation and high sensitivity. In this work, we construct an exceptionally simple dual-emission ratio fluorescence sensor through the synergy of hydroxytyrosol (HYT), naphthoresorcin (NR) and ZnCdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs), namely HYT – NR – QD, for the fluorescent and visual detection of Cu 2+ . The design of ratiometric nanosensor is based on our new finding that Cu 2+ can catalyze the reaction between HYT and NR to produce a cyan-emitting fluorophore (emission: 480 nm), and the copper species existed in the form of Cu + and Cu 2+ in reaction system. After adding QDs (emission: 605 nm), the free Cu + , Cu 2+ and the resulting fluorophore in this system caused a great reduction in the FL intensity of QDs, due to the rapid cation exchange reaction between QDs and Cu 2+ /Cu + as well as the inner filter effect between QDs and the resulting fluorophore. Overall, Cu 2+ induced emission intensity changes at 480 and 605 nm leads to a distinct color change from red to cyan. A ratiometric fluorescence Cu 2+ sensor with a lowest concentration of 3.42 nM was developed. Furthermore, the concentration of Cu 2+ can be conveniently reflected with a smartphone application by identifying the RGB value. Moreover, the method proposed by us can be explored for Cu 2+ determination in environmental water samples with a satisfying result, providing a novel, simple-operating and on-site detection of Cu 2+ in water samples.

Abstract:Single-atom nanozymes (SAzymes) as a new class of efficient nanozymes have attracted extensive research interest due to their high catalytic activity and specificity. However, it is challenging to develop a novel nanoenzyme with high activity, good stability and reproducibility. In this paper, the nitrogen and sulfur coordinated Fe-N/S-C SAzymes were synthesized using peanuts shells as carbon, nitrogen and sulfur source. It shows high oxidase-like activities due to the doping of S induced geometric and electronic effects, which is further confirmed by density functional theory calculations. The prepared Fe-N/S-C SAzymes with the remarkable oxidase-mimicking activity could oxidize TMB to blue oxTMB, but the GSH can inhibit the oxidation of TMB resulting in blue fading. However, when Hg2+ is added into above system, Hg2+-SH complexes are generated attributed to a high affinity between GSH and Hg2+, ultimately leading to blue recovery. Based on this phenomenon, we constructed a novel "on-off-on" colorimetric sensor for the simultaneous detection of GSH (off) and Hg2+ (on), and the signal is acquired by various modes such as naked eye, UV–Vis spectrometer and smartphone. The colorimetric detection mode based on a smartphone showed a good linear response from 10 to 80 μM for GSH with a detection limit of 3.92 μM, and for Hg2+ with a linear range of 1 nM-10 μM and LOD of 0.17 nM, which is more suitable for routine laboratory applications. More importantly, the proposed colorimetric sensor has been successfully applied to the detection of GSH and Hg2+ in real samples with good analytical performance. This work not only provides a simple and cost-effective method to detect GSH and Hg2+ but also makes a certain contribution to environmental protection.

The study compared participants from ongoing psychiatric screening of disaster workers: those with Vietnam service (Vietnam veteran; N = 125), those without trauma history (no trauma; N = 116); and those with childhood physical abuse but no combat history (physical abuse; N = 57). ANOVA indicated the trauma groups differed significantly in clinician-rated posttraumatic stress disorder severity (p < 0.005). However, post hoc analyses revealed the Vietnam veteran group did not differ significantly from the no trauma group; both had significantly lower severity compared with the physical abuse group. It should be noted that veterans in this sample, unlike in many studies, were in the workforce. Research with different veteran groups is warranted to clarify further the relation of combat experience and symptoms in disaster workers.
Colorimetric and ECL dual-mode aptasensor for smartphone-based onsite sensitive detection of aflatoxin B1 in combination with ZnO@MWCNTs/g-C3N4 nanosheets and CuO@CuPt nanocomposites

Abstract:The development of dual-mode strategies with superior sensitivity and accuracy have garnered increasing attention for researchers in Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) analysis. Herein, a colorimetric-electrochemiluminescence (ECL) dual-mode biosensor was constructed for onsite and ultrasensitive determination of AFB1. The multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were integrated with the ZnO metal organic frameworks (MOFs) to accelerate the electron transfer and boost the ECL intensity of g-C3N4 nanoemitters. Through the aptamer-based DNA sandwich assay, the CuO@CuPt nanocomposites were introduced onto the electrode and acted as the dual functional signal nanoprobes. Due to the good spectrum overlap between the CuO@CuPt nanoprobes and g-C3N4 nanosheets, ECL signal could be efficiently quenched. Additionally, the CuO@CuPt nanoprobes show superior catalytic properties towards the TMB and H2O2 colorimetric reactions, and an obvious color alteration from colorless to blue can be observed using the smartphone. Under optimized conditions, a sensitive and accurate dual-mode analysis of the AFB1 was accomplished with the colorimetric detection limit of 3.26 fg/mL and ECL detection limit of 0.971 fg/mL (S/N = 3). This study combines innovative nanomaterial properties of ZnO@MWCNTs, g-C3N4 and CuO@CuPt for ultrasensitive dual-mode detection, which offers new opportunities for the innovative engineering of the dual-mode sensors and demonstrates significant potential in food safety analysis.
Impacts of urbanization on West Nose Creek: a Canadian experience.

Abstract:The lower reaches of West Nose Creek have been subject to urbanization since the 1970s, leading to channel widening and excessive erosion. This paper discusses what would likely happen if urbanization were allowed to continue in the same manner. Comparisons are presented of the channel width and depth for both the upstream rural and downstream urbanizing reaches. Estimates of the evolution of the creek were generated by linking the dominant discharge to the entire shape and volume of the hydrograph that the creek is subjected to rather than solely considering peak discharges. otential remedial measures and stormwater management philosophies are discussed in relationship to instream flow needs (IFNs) initiatives. IFNs are generally developed by relating the amount of suitable aquatic habitat to the quantity of flow. The emphasis has so far been on IFNs for large river systems. Unfortunately, none of the IFN approaches cover streams that are subject to significant urbanization. In urbanized streams the issue is not as much the impacts due to withdrawals but due to significantly increased runoff rates and volumes generated within the urban areas. Examples are provided how fisheries habitat is impacted by the changed hydrologic regime and changed stream morphology.
Thy-AuNP-AgNP Hybrid Systems for Colorimetric Determination of Copper (II) Ions Using UV-Vis Spectroscopy and Smartphone-Based Detection

Abstract:A colorimetric probe based on a hybrid sensing system of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), and thymine (Thy) was developed for easy and rapid detection of copper (II) ions (Cu2+) in solution. The underlying principle of this probe was the Cu2+-triggered aggregation of the nanoparticle components. Color change of the sensing solution (from red to purple) was clearly observed with naked eyes. The experimental parameters, including pH and concentration of tris buffer, thymine concentration and AgNP dilution ratios, were investigated and optimized. Once optimized, the limits of detection were found to be 1, 0.09 and 0.03 ppm for naked eyes, smartphone application and UV-vis spectrophotometer, respectively. Furthermore, determination of Cu2+ was accomplished within 15 min under ambient conditions. For quantitative analysis, the linearity of detection was observed through ranges of 0.09–0.5 and 0.03–0.5 ppm using smartphone application and UV-vis spectrophotometer, respectively, conforming to the World Health Organization guideline for detection of copper at concentrations < 2 ppm in water. This developed hybrid colorimetric probe exhibited preferential selectivity toward Cu2+, even when assessed in the presence of other metal ions (Al3+, Ca2+, Pb2+, Mn2+, Mg2+, Zn2+, Fe3+, Ni2+, Co2+, Hg2+ and Cd2+). The developed procedure was also successfully applied to quantification of Cu2+ in real water samples. The recovery and relative standard deviation (RSD) values from real water sample analysis were in the ranges of 70.14–103.59 and 3.21–17.63%, respectively. Our findings demonstrated a successful development and implementation of the Thy-AuNP-AgNP hybrid sensing system for rapid, simple and portable Cu2+ detection in water samples using a spectrophotometer or a smartphone-based device.

Abstract:The excessive presence of Cu2+ could be harmful to human health. Therefore, a ratiometric fluorescence sensor based on multicolor fluorescent carbon dots (CDs) was developed for Cu2+ detection. The blue and yellow carbon dots (B-CDs/Y-CDs) were synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method. After adding Cu2+, it is captured by the amino groups of B-CDs to form complexes, resulting in a strong fluorescence quenching via photoinduced electron transfer (PET). Meanwhile, the amino groups from Y-CDs also binds with Cu2+ that inhibit the internal PET thus enhancing the fluorescence of Y-CDs. The sensor has the merits in rapid, visual, and selective with a low limit of detection (LOD) at 2.29 nM. Furthermore, an intelligent device composed of portable optical detector and smartphone is constructed, which realizes the visual point-of-care testing (POCT) of Cu2+ with a LOD of 7.51 nM. The strategy provides an accessible approach for monitoring heavy metal pollution and food safety.
