Abstract:In this study, we have stated the green biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) by utilizing the extract of Monstera deliciosa leaves (MDL) as a reducing agent. Biosynthesized flat, thin, and single-crystalline gold nanotriangles obtained through centrifugation are then analyzed by different characterization techniques. The UV − visible absorption spectra of AuNPs exhibited maxima bands in the range of 500–590 nm, indicating a characteristic of AuNPs. XRD analysis revealed the formation of the (111)-oriented face-centered cubic (FCC) phase of AuNPs. ATR-IR spectra showed signatures of stretching vibrations of O–H, C-H, C=C, C=O, C–O, and C-N, accompanied by CH 3 rocking vibrations present in functional groups of biomolecules. FESEM images confirmed spherical nanoparticles with an average diameter in the range of 53–66 nm and predominantly triangular morphology of synthesized AuNPs within the size range of 420–800 nm. NMR, GC–MS, and HR–MS studies showed the presence of different biomolecules, including phenols, flavonoids, and antioxidants in MDL extracts, which play a crucial role of both, reducing as well as stabilizing and capping agents to form stable AuNPs by a bottom-up approach. They were then investigated for their antibacterial assay against Gram-positive ( S. aureus, B. subtilis ) and Gram-negative ( E. coli, P. aeruginosa ) microorganisms, along with testing of antifungal potential against various fungi ( Penicillium sp., Aspergillus flavus, Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizoctonia solani ) using the well diffusion method. Here, biosynthesized AuNPs showed non-antimicrobial properties against all four used bacteria and fungi, showing their suitability as a contender for biomedical applications in drug delivery ascribed to their inert and biocompatible nature.

Abstract:In the present study, the ethanol extract of leaves of Nepeta bodeana Bunge was utilized in environmentally friendly synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) via an immediate, one-step, and cost-effective process. The biosynthesized AuNPs were characterized using a variety of techniques, including UV–visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), and laser Doppler electrophoresis (zeta potential), among others. Pink in hue, the manufactured AuNPs were practically spherical and had<20.5 nm in diameter. The peak of the localized surface plasmon resonance absorption band at 547 nm helped to explain the biogenic synthesis of AuNPs, which used the ethanolic extract of the Nepeta bodeana leaves. In addition to this, the biosynthesized AuNPs possessed the remarkable stability as a result of their zeta potential value of − 22.3 mV. The green synthesized AuNPs demonstrated the excellent catalytic activity because they were able to catalytically degrade methylene blue (MB) at a variety of concentrations. The results indicated that 94.2% of MB were degraded after 10 min. They also showed a remarkable antibacterial activity against both Gram-nrgative (Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli) and Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus cereus) bacteria. In addition, a proper antifungal activity with the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of 50 and 25 μg/mL against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger, respectively, were determined. The phytosynthesized AuNPs indicated a considerable antioxidant activity of 83% and 74% in the applied DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activity tests, respectively. The anti-inflammatory properties of the synthesized AuNPs were established to be dose-dependent and varied from 11% to 76%. The green synthesized AuNPs also exhibited a concentration-dependent cytotoxicity on human liver (HepG2) and breast (MCF-7) cancer cells, which were around 77.4 and 71.2% at 300 µg/mL, respectively. They showed as well a notable anti-diabetic activity with the 52% inhibition of α-amylase and the 62% glucose uptake activity by yeast cells at 300 µg/mL. All these findings suggested that the produced AuNPs could be explored for developing many therapeutic as well as catalytic useful products.

Abstract:Wavelet based method is presented in this paper to improve the quality of an observed series obtained with automatic weather station. The first part of this paper surveys the drawback of data series collected with automatic-weather-station. A method of multi-stage analysis is introduced in second session of this article. The third part of this article provides an application of denoising noisy data using wavelet method with different threshold. At the end of this paper, we propose an example to detect anomaly mixing in the date series. Being the experimental result that an outlier record of temperature series can be detected with the multi-scale technology, the propose way in this article guaranteed the quality control of automatic weather station data.
Biological Synthesis, Characterization, and Therapeutic Potential of S. commune-Mediated Gold Nanoparticles

Abstract:Green-synthesized gold nanoparticles demonstrate several therapeutic benefits due to their safety, non-toxicity, accessibility, and ecological acceptance. In our study, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were created using an extracellular extract from the fungus Schizophyllum commune (S. commune). The reaction color was observed to be a reddish pink after a 24 h reaction, demonstrating the synthesis of the nanoparticles. The myco-produced nanoparticles were investigated using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and UV-visible spectroscopy. The TEM pictures depicted sphere-like shapes with sizes ranging from 60 and 120 nm, with an average diameter of 90 nm, which is in agreement with the DLS results. Furthermore, the efficiency of the AuNPs' antifungal and cytotoxic properties, as well as their production of intracellular ROS, was evaluated. Our findings showed that the AuNPs have strong antifungal effects against Trichoderma sp. and Aspergillus flavus at increasing doses. Additionally, the AuNPs established a dose-dependent activity against human alveolar basal epithelial cells with adenocarcinoma (A549), demonstrating the potency of synthesized AuNPs as a cytotoxic agent. After 4 h of incubation with AuNPs, a significant increase in intracellular ROS was observed in cancer cells. Therefore, these metallic AuNPs produced by fungus (S. commune) can be used as an effective antifungal, anticancer, and non-toxic immunomodulatory delivery agent.

Abstract:BackgroundSearch for options that can overcome microorganism's resistance to traditional drugs, has shifted the focus towards plant-based molecules and extracts. Latest developments in plant-based nanomaterials have further expanded the role of plant extracts since nano particle - plant extract combinations are shown to possess enhanced biological activity and reduced toxicity to human cells. In the present study, facile, one-pot synthesis of nearly monodispersed gold nanoparticles was developed using Clerodin enriched Clerodendrum infortunatum ethanolic leaf extract under ambient conditions. The synthesized gold nanoparticles were evaluated for broad spectrum anti-microbial activity as well as compatibility with human peripheral blood mononuclear cells.MethodsClerodin enriched fraction from C. infortunatum leaves ethanol extract was used to synthesize gold nanoparticle from chloroauric acid. Synthesized gold nanoparticles were characterized and tested for broad spectrum anti-microbial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using the standard broth dilution method. Cytotoxicity of the gold nanoparticles was evaluated against human monocyte leukemic cells (THP-I) and healthy peripheral blood mononuclear cells. MTT and FACS based Annexin V/FITC-PI assays were used to study its cytotoxic effect.ResultsTEM analysis showed an average diameter of 33 ± 5 nm for the synthesized nanoparticles. EDX validated the presence of elemental Au (98.8%) and confirmed its nano form. Antimicrobial assay of gold nanoparticles showed significant inhibitory effect in all the tested pathogens. Additionally, MTT and Annexin-V/ PI assay demonstrated the cytotoxic activity of the nanoparticles against THP-I cells. Interestingly, nanoparticles did not show cytotoxicity against healthy human peripheral blood mononuclear cells.ConclusionGold nanoparticles generated in an eco-friendly process using Clerodin enriched fractions showed promising broad spectrum antibacterial activity. Simultaneously, they proved themselves to be benign against healthy human cells indicating potential therapeutic applications. Added benefit for the nanoparticles was, they had anti-proliferative effects against human leukemic monocyte cancer (THP-I) cells.

Abstract:Algae could offer a potential source of fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals and biofuels. In this study, a green synthesis of dispersed cuboidal gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was achieved using red algae, Gelidium amansii reacted with HAuCl4. It was found to be 4-7 nm sized cubical nanoparticles with aspect ratio of 1.4 were synthesized using 0.5 mM of HAuCl4 by HRSEM analysis. The crystalline planes (111), (200), (220), (311) and elemental signal of gold was observed by XRD and EDS respectively. The major constitutes, galactose and 3,6-anhydrogalactose in the alga played a critical role in the synthesis of crystalline AuNPs with cubical dimension. Further, the antibacterial potential of synthesized AuNPs was tested against human pathogens, Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The synthesized AuNPs found biocompatible up to 100 ppm and high concentration showed an inhibition against cancer cell. This novel report could be helped to exploration of bioresources to material synthesis for the application of biosensor and biomedical application.

Abstract:Abstract Background Novel approaches for synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are of utmost importance owing to its immense applications in diverse fields including catalysis, optics, medical diagnostics and therapeutics. We report on synthesis of AuNPs using Gnidia glauca flower extract (GGFE), its detailed characterization and evaluation of its chemocatalytic potential. Results Synthesis of AuNPs using GGFE was monitored by UV-Vis spectroscopy and was found to be rapid that completed within 20 min. The concentration of chloroauric acid and temperature was optimized to be 0.7 mM and 50°C respectively. Bioreduced nanoparticles varied in morphology from nanotriangles to nanohexagons majority being spherical. AuNPs were characterized employing transmission electron microscopy, high resolution transmission electron microscopy. Confirmation of elemental gold was carried out by elemental mapping in scanning transmission electron microscopic mode, energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction studies. Spherical particles of size ~10 nm were found in majority. However, particles of larger dimensions were in range between 50-150 nm. The bioreduced AuNPs exhibited remarkable catalytic properties in a reduction reaction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol by NaBH 4 in aqueous phase. Conclusion The elaborate experimental evidences support that GGFE can provide an environmentally benign rapid route for synthesis of AuNPs that can be applied for various purposes. Biogenic AuNPs synthesized using GGFE exhibited excellent chemocatalytic potential.

Abstract:Gold nanoparticles with tiny sizes and biostability are particularly essential and are employed in a variety of biomedical applications. Using a reducing agent and a stabilising agent to make gold nanoparticles has been reported in a number of studies. Gold nanoparticles with a particle size of 25.31 nm were synthesized in this study utilising Hylocereus polyrhizus (Red Pitaya) extract, which functions as a reducing and stabilising agent. The extract of Red Pitaya is said to be a powerful antioxidant and anti-cancer agent. Because of its substantial blood biocompatibility and physiological stability, green production of gold nanoparticles with H. polyrhizus fruit extract is an alternative to chemical synthesis and useful for biological and medical applications. The formation and size distribution of gold nanoparticles were confirmed by HPLC, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Dynamic light scattering (DLS), Zeta potential, Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The well-analysed NPs were used in various biological assays, including anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-Alzheimer, and antioxidant (DPPH), and cytotoxic investigations. The NPs also showed a dose-dependent cytotoxic activity against HCT-116, HepG2 and MCF-7 cell lines, with IC50 of 100 µg/mL for HCT-116 cells, 155 µg/mL for HepG2, and for MCF-7 cells the value was 165 µg/mL respectively. Finally, the outstanding biocompatibility of Au-NPs has led to the conclusion that they are a promising choice for various biological applications.

Abstract:The present study focused on the environmentally friendly preparation, characterization, and certain biological activities of gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs) made with the Gundelia tournefortii (kenger) leaf extract. The results from devices such as transmission electron microscope, energy-dispersive x-ray spectrophotometer, and Fourier scanning electron microscope reveal the structures of nanoparticles. After an hour, the greatest surface plasmon resonance was discovered at 532.15 nm. The mean cubic crystallite size was calculated using the powder x-ray diffraction model and was found to be 23.53 nm. It was noted that the produced Au-NPs had spherical forms and hexagonal dimensions and ranged in size from 5 to 40 nm. The minimum inhibitory concentration and a colorimetric method for determining cell metabolic activity test, respectively, were used to investigate the suppressive effects of Au-NPs on the growth of pathogenic bacteria and healthy and cancer cell lines.

Abstract:Nanotechnology is creating a bang in each and every field of life science. Scientists are mounting their interest of research towards gold nanoparticles as they are capable with bigger and advanced properties.Traditionally nanoparticles have been manufactured by various chemical and physical methods but have negative impact on the environment and are also highly toxic. Synthesis of nanoparticles by using plant extracts is substituting the conventional methods and it is eco-friendly too. In the current study, we prepared gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) from Magnolia officinalis, which is identified as an eco-friendly and less toxic method. Incorporation of AuNPs was renowned by UV-absorbance and it shows peak values. Nanoparticle sizes are recognized by dynamic light scattering scrutiny and it shows a value of 128 nm. Besides, high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) incorrigibly define the shape of the AuNPs which are present in the complex materials. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) findings display that the active molecules are positioned in the plane of the AuNPs. Similarly, anticancer efficacy of AuNPs have been assessed in A549 cells. our study show that AuNPs effectively provoke cytotoxicity, and apoptosis by inflecting apoptotic gene expressions in A549 cells.

Abstract:This review discusses the eco-friendly and cost-effective biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) in viable microorganisms, focusing on microbes-mediated AuNP biosynthesis. This process suits agricultural, environmental, and biomedical applications, offering renewable, eco-friendly, non-toxic, sustainable, and time-efficient methods. Microorganisms are increasingly used in green technology, nanotechnology, and RNAi technology, but several microorganisms have not been fully identified and characterized. Bio-nanotechnology offers eco-friendly and sustainable solutions for nanomedicine, with microbe-mediated nanoparticle biosynthesis producing AuNPs with anti-oxidation activity, stability, and biocompatibility. Ultrasmall AuNPs offer rapid distribution, renal clearance, and enhanced permeability in biomedical applications. The review explores nano-size dependent biosynthesis of AuNPs by bacteria, fungi, and viruses revealing their non-toxic, non-genotoxic, and non-oxidative properties on human cells. AuNPs with varying sizes and shapes, from nitrate reductase enzymes, have shown potential as a promising nano-catalyst. The synthesized AuNPs, with negative charge capping molecules, have demonstrated antibacterial activity against drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Acinetobacter baumannii strains, and were non-toxic to Vero cell lines, indicating potential antibiotic resistance treatments. A green chemical method for the biosynthesis of AuNPs using reducing chloroauric acid and Rhizopus oryzae protein extract has been described, demonstrating excellent stability and strong catalytic activity. AuNPs are eco-friendly, non-toxic, and time-efficient, making them ideal for biomedical applications due to their antioxidant, antidiabetic, and antibacterial properties. In addition to the biomedical application, the review also highlights the role of microbially synthesized AuNPs in sustainable management of plant diseases, and environmental bioremediation.

Abstract:Increasing levels of reactive oxygen species generate oxidative stress in the human body that can lead to various medical conditions. The use of nanomaterials exhibiting antioxidant properties may prevent these effects. The biological synthesis of metallic nanoparticles using plant extracts with antioxidant properties can offer benefits due to their active compounds. The used extracts contained reducing and stabilizing agents, which were shown to be transferred onto the gold nanoparticles, functionalizing them. Herin, we report a gold nanoparticle synthesis by eco-friendly biological methods (b-AuNPs) using extracts of sea buckthorn, lavender, walnuts, and grapes, obtained through ultrasound-assisted extraction and pressure-enhanced extraction. The obtained b-AuNPs were characterized by UV–Vis and FTIR spectroscopies and visualized using transmission electron microscopy. The catalytic and scavenging effect of the b-AuNPs towards H2O2 (as reactive oxygen species) was evaluated electrochemically, highlighting the protective behavior of b-AuNPs towards lipid peroxidation. All experiments demonstrated the stability and reproducibility of prepared b-AuNPs with enhanced antioxidant and catalytic properties, opening a new perspective for their use in biomedical applications.

Abstract:In this study, AuNPs were biosynthesized from Cucurbita moschata fruit peel extracts. Biosynthesized AuNPs exhibited maximum absorbance at a 555 nm wavelength, and XRD analysis indicated that the CM-AuNPs had a particle size of less than 100 nm and a cubic crystal structure. TEM scans revealed that the gold particles exhibited a spherical morphology, with an average size of 18.10 nm. FTIR analysis revealed strong peaks indicating the presence of functional groups involved in the reduction reactions. The surface charge of the biosynthesized AuNPs was determined to be −19.7 mV. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of AuNPs against pathogen strains were assessed by the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) method. The cytotoxic effects of CM-AuNPs on cancer cell lines (Sk-Ov-3, CaCo2, and A549) and healthy cell lines (HUVEC) were investigated using the MTT method. The findings indicated that AuNPs biosynthesized by the green synthesis method using C. moschata peel aqueous extract had high inhibition on the growth of pathogenic microorganisms and effective cytotoxic activity against cancerous cell lines at low doses. As a result, it can be concluded that CM-AuNPs will be eminently effective in the production of antibacterial and/or anticancer drugs in the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetic industries.

Abstract:The applications of green synthesised gold nanoparticles for the biomedical field are the most prominent and developing area in this modern era. In this present investigation, marine bacteria, Vibrio alginolyticus was used for the biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles. The biosynthesized gold nanoparticles (AuNps) were characterized by various spectroscopic analysis. The morphological analysis of AuNps was done through scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) respectively. The obtained size was estimated around 100-150 nm. The synthesized AuNps confirmed by its surface plasmon resonance peak (SPR) range using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The bio-metabolites from marine bacteria which was responsible for the nanoparticles synthesis were analyzed using fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR). The biomedical application of synthesized eco-friendly AuNps analysed by different method such as, the antioxidant property and free radical scavenging activity through DPPH (1, 1- diphenyl 2-picrylhyorazyl) and metal chelating assay. The anticancer activity of colon carcinoma was confirmed through MTT assay while the apoptotic mediated cell death observed through the fluorescence analysis. The biosynthesized AuNPs showed a dose dependent inhibitory effect on the growth of colon cancer cells. The IC50 was 15 µg/ mL, and the maximum inhibition of the cell death was (>75%) obtained when treating 25 µg/mL. Abstract:Worldwide health problem generally due to the lack of widespread and comprehensive early detection methods, the associated poor prognosis of patients diagnosed in later stages of the disease and its increasing incidence on a global scale. Indeed, the struggle to fight cancer is one of the greatest challenges of mankind. Centella Asiatica (CA) and Andrographis Paniculata (AP) are two medicinal plant extracts used in the environmentally friendly extracellular production of metallic gold nanoparticles. The size, shape, stability and crystallinity of the synthesized gold nanoparticles were characterised and various characterization methods were used; UV–Vis spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Zeta potential, Selected Area Electron Diffraction, Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy, High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy equipped with elemental mapping in order to confirm the formation of gold nanoparticles. The TEM results showed that gold nanoparticles were mostly spherical in shape. Their effects on anti-bacterial, catalytic, photocatalytic and anticancer cell lines were examined. The MTT [3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide] test was used to confirm the cytotoxic properties of both gold nanoparticles samples and the results showed that both the human lung cancer and human breast cancer cell line growth and proliferation were inhibited. Strong antibacterial activity against gram-negative bacteria and moderate antibacterial activity against gram-positive bacteria were identified. It has also been shown that gold nanoparticles have catalytic properties for reducing 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol. By degrading the two dyes methyl orange and congo red in the presence of nano catalysts, the photocatalytic activity of synthesized nanoparticles has been assessed.

Abstract:Background: In recent decades focus of research has been toward an alternative antibacterial agent because of growing bacterial resistance and side effects of antibacterial agents. In the current study, the antibacterial activity of gold nanoparticles has been evaluated on selected human pathogens. Methods: In this study, we used panchagavya (PG) to synthesize gold nanoparticles, and the resulting nanoparticles (PG-AuNPs) were characterized by several spectroscopic techniques. In addition, antibacterial activity of PG-AuNPs against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, and Klebsiella pneumoniae were studied by well diffusion method. Results: The synthesis of AuNPs was affirmed by a colour change, which was further validated by UV-vis spectra with a maximum absorption peak at 527 nm. Bandgap energy was calculated as 2.13 eV by Tauc method from the UV result. The presence of amino acids and proteins in PG was responsible for the conversion of gold ions to AuNPs, according to FTIR analysis. (111), (200), (220), and (311) crystallographic planes were observed by XRD; further crystalline nature was validated by SAED analysis. The size and zeta value were found to be 53.29 nm and -9.8 mV respectively. Spherical shaped nanoparticles and elemental structure of PG-AuNPs were confirmed by HRTEM and EDS analysis. The antibacterial activity of PG-AuNPs showed the maximum and minimum zone of inhibition against K. pneumoniae (17.12 ± 0.14 mm) and B. subtilis (11.42 ± 0.58 mm). Conclusion: Antibacterial activity of PG-AuNPs was found to be strong against gram negative bacteria and moderate against gram positive bacteria. Based on the result, it was concluded that PG-AuNPs could be used to combat antibiotic drug resistance. Besides, in vitro and in vivo toxicity studies of PG-AuNPs should be conducted.

Abstract:Developing environment-friendly processes for metal nanoparticle synthesis without using toxic chemical is very necessary to meet the demand for biological and medical applications. In this work, biosynthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using aqueous extract of Paramignya trimera roots as the reducing and stability agents was carried out. The formation of gold nanoparticles was confirmed by the presence of an absorption peak at 550 nm using UV–Visible spectrophotometry. The size and morphology of gold nanoparticles was monitored by Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and High resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM). Analysis of these particles showed the synthesized AuNPs were spherical in shape, with the particle size range of 10 nm–15 nm. The element gold and the crystalline nature of AuNPs were finalized using Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectrometer, respectively. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy revealed possible involvement of reductive groups on the surfaces of nanoparticles. The synthesized AuNPs are evaluated for its activity against MCF-7, HepG2, KB, LU-1 and MKN7 cancer cell lines with inhibition concentration 50% (IC 50 ) of 2.01, 7.60, 3.89, 3.99 and 3.53 ppm respectively after 72 hours of treatment.

Abstract:The main challenge for researchers in the biomedical sectors concerns the development of new active compounds through cost-effectiveness, rapid, simple, and ecofriendly methods to overcome antibiotic resistance to pathogenic microbes. Herein, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were fabricated by a green approach through the reduction of chloroauric acid (HAuCl4) by harnessing the metabolites present in the aqueous extract of Zingiber officinale rhizome. UV-Vis spectroscopy, FT-IR, XRD, TEM, DLS, and zeta potential were used to characterize phytosynthesized AuNPs. In addition, the antimicrobial effect was investigated against Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus), Gram-negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli), unicellular fungi (Candida albicans), and multicellular fungi (Aspergillus brasiliensis). Antioxidant and in vitro cytotoxic activities were assessed. TEM and XRD showed the successful formation of spherical and crystalline structures, with sizes in the range of 5–53 nm (average size: 15.11 ± 8.5 nm). The zeta potential value (i.e., –28.8 mV) explains the high stability of synthesized AuNPs. AuNPs exhibit promising activity against prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms with variable inhibition zones and low MIC values in the range of 25–6.25 μg mL−1. Phytosynthesized AuNPs exhibit DPPH scavenging activity with percentages of 87.6 ± 0.5% at a maximum concentration (1000 μg mL−1), which can be compared with ascorbic acid (97.3 ± 0.2%). Moreover, the AuNPs displayed a target-oriented effect for cancer cell lines HepG2 and MCF7 at low IC50 concentrations of 131.9 ± 9.34 and 288.23 ± 31.39 μg mL−1 compared to the normal oral epithelial OEC cell line (487.612 ± 3.53 μg mL−1). Overall, the phytosynthesized AuNPs show wide activities that enable their use in various biomedical and biotechnological applications.

Abstract:Green synthesis of nanoparticles is one of the recent trends nowadays owing to its reduced toxic effects. Our study is aimed at evaluating the biological potential viz., antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) biosynthesised using an aqueous extract of Commiphora wightii. The AuNPs synthesis was preliminarily confirmed by colour change from yellow to purple. Further, AuNPs synthesis was optimised at different ratio, pH and temperature. AuNPs were characterised using spectroscopic and microscopic techniques. FTIR analysis confirmed role of biomolecules in reduction and stabilisation of AuNPs. TEM analysis revealed polydispersed nanoparticles with an average size of 20.2 ± 6.6 nm. In vitroantioxidant activity of AuNPs were evaluated using DPPH, ABTS and H2O2 assays. The AuNPs showed significant radical scavenging ability. In vitro anti-inflammatory activity was studied for inhibition of albumin denaturation, Trypsin, LOX, and hyaluronidase enzymes. The AuNPs exhibited good activity as potent anti-inflammatory agents. Further in vivo studies are needed to explore them as good therapeutic agents.

Abstract:The antioxidant, antibacterial and photocatalytic activity of gold (Au) nanocatalyst derived utilizing Catharanthus roseus leaf extracts are originally described in this investigation. The colour transformation of the developed gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) was originally validated optically. Besides that, UV–visible spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to interpret the derived Au catalyst's emergence, size and structure. The existence of phytochemical constituents essential for the encapsulation, accumulation, bio-reduction and anchoring of AuNPs was established by descriptive preliminary phytochemicals, as proven by the Fourier transform infrared spectrum. Cumulative antioxidants, reducing and 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical activities have been used to assess the antioxidant effects of the AuNPs and their appropriate leaf extract. In comparison to those associated with plant extract, the Au nanocatalyst exhibited increased antioxidant effects in the antioxidant assessments. When compared to Bacillus subtilis (Gram-positive) assayed by the agar well diffusion approach, the derived AuNPs showed tremendous antimicrobial effects against Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram-negative). Interestingly, upon UV-light irradiation, the AuNPs displayed substantial photocatalytic performance in destroying rhodamine B dye for approximately 105 min. Therefore, the C. roseus leaf was found to be an environmentally benign feedstock for the greener synthesis of AuNPs, which can be employed as a powerful antioxidant, antimicrobial and photocatalytic ingredient, and hence is used in an array of applicants to enhance social survival chances.
