Abstract:as compared with the num-bers of poor results obtained by a forced operation after too long immobilization and extension when the injured's resistance has become extremely low. I say if fractures of the long bones, when uncomplicated, cannot be reduced, conservatively, in six to ten days, do the open operation. In these cases, especially of the legs, weight bearing can be started with safety and without bowing, much earlier than could possibly happen if treated by the closed method.
