Abstract:SUMMARY: Evidence is given that potato paracrinkle virus, potato virus S and carnation latent virus are serologically related and should be considered as related virus strains, although they differ considerably in their host range and pathogenicity, and only carnation latent virus is transmissible by aphids. It is suggested that the three have evolved from a common aphid-transmitted ancestor. In addition to the antigens which the three have in common, each has many specific ones, and the two strains from potato are more closely related to one another than to the carnation virus. No plant of the potato variety King Edward was found free from paracrinkle virus, and no Arran Victory plant free from virus S. Minor variants of both paracrinkle virus and of virus S were detected; it is suggested that the variations in severity of symptoms developed when Arran Victory plants are grafted with King Edward scions reflect the various degrees to which different isolates interfere with each other's multiplication. Most isolates of virus S interfere only slightly with the multiplication of paracrinkle virus.
Examining Relations Between Locus of Control, Loneliness, Subjective Well-Being, and Preference for Online Social Interaction

Abstract:The unprecedented popularity of online communication has raised interests and concerns among the public as well as in scholarly circles. Online communications have pushed people farther away from one another. This study is a further examination of the effects of online communications on well-being, in particular: Locus of control, Loneliness, Subjective well-being, and Preference for online social interaction. Chinese undergraduate students ( N = 260; 84 men, 176 women; M age = 20.1 yr., SD = 1.2) were questioned about demographic information and use of social media as well as four previously validated questionnaires related to well-being. Most participants used QQ, a popular social networking program, as the major channel for online social interactions. Locus of control was positively related to Loneliness and Preference for online social interaction, but negatively related to Subjective well-being; Loneliness (positively) and Subjective well-being (negatively) were related to Preference for online social interaction; and Loneliness and Subjective well-being had a full mediating effect between the relationships of Locus of control and Preference for online social interaction. The findings of the study showed that more lonely, unhappy, and externally controlled students were more likely to be engaged in online social interaction. Improving students' locus of control, loneliness, and happiness may help reduce problematic Internet use.
Mental Health Pandemic During the COVID-19 Outbreak: Social Media As a Window to Public Mental Health

Abstract:Intensified preventive measures during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as lockdown and social distancing, heavily increased the perception of social isolation (i.e., a discrepancy between one's social needs and the provisions of the social environment) among young adults. Social isolation is closely associated with situational loneliness (i.e., loneliness emerging from environmental change), a risk factor for depressive symptoms. Prior research suggested vulnerable young adults are likely to seek support from an online social platform such as Reddit, a perceived comfortable environment for lonely individuals to seek mental health help through anonymous communication with a broad social network. Therefore, this study aims to identify and analyze depression-related dialogues on loneliness subreddits during the COVID-19 outbreak, with the implications on depression-related infoveillance during the pandemic. Our study utilized logistic regression and topic modeling to classify and examine depression-related discussions on loneliness subreddits before and during the pandemic. Our results showed significant increases in the volume of depression-related discussions (i.e., topics related to mental health, social interaction, family, and emotion) where challenges were reported during the pandemic. We also found a switch in dominant topics emerging from depression-related discussions on loneliness subreddits, from dating (prepandemic) to online interaction and community (pandemic), suggesting the increased expressions or need of online social support during the pandemic. The current findings suggest the potential of social media to serve as a window for monitoring public mental health. Our future study will clinically validate the current approach, which has implications for designing a surveillance system during the crisis.

Abstract:Loneliness has been associated with negative outcomes for physical and mental health. Understanding how people express and cope with various forms of loneliness is critical for early screening and targeted interventions to reduce loneliness, particularly among vulnerable groups such as young adults. To examine how different forms of loneliness and coping strategies manifest in loneliness self-disclosure, we built a dataset, FIG-Loneliness (FIne-Grained Loneliness) by using Reddit posts in two young adult-focused forums and two loneliness related forums consisting of a diverse age group. We provided annotations by trained human annotators for binary and fine-grained loneliness classifications of the posts. Trained on FIG-Loneliness, two BERT-based models were used to understand loneliness forms and authors' coping strategies in these forums. Our binary loneliness classification achieved an accuracy above 97%, and fine-grained loneliness category classification reached an average accuracy of 77% across all labeled categories. With FIG-Loneliness and model predictions, we found that loneliness expressions in the young adults related forums were distinct from other forums. Those in young adult-focused forums were more likely to express concerns pertaining to peer relationship, and were potentially more sensitive to geographical isolation impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Also, we showed that different forms of loneliness have differential use in coping strategies.
Tracking the impact of COVID-19 and lockdown policy on public mental health using social media

Abstract:Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic and its corresponding preventive and control measures have increased the mental burden on the public. Social media serve as important platforms to timely track public mental status. In this study, we conducted social-media-based analyses on temporal, geographical and occupational distributions of public mental health status during the pandemic, and how the public reacted to the lock-down policy from the perspective of mental health. We extracted 2,973,319 mental health-related tweets of 1,778,140 users from February 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021. We found that, compared to the general public, healthcare workers had higher concerns on three types of mental health problems (depression, insomnia, addiction) (P<0.001) and focused more on clinical topics while the public worried more about daily life issues. The lockdown policy in New York was correlated with a proportional decrease of mental health-related tweets, while Florida had an opposite correlation (both P<0.05). Our findings indicated that the mental burden brought by the pandemic varied across occupations and locations and changed over time.
Head versus heart: social media reveals differential language of loneliness from depression

Abstract:We study the language differentially associated with loneliness and depression using 3.4-million Facebook posts from 2986 individuals, and uncover the statistical associations of survey-based depression and loneliness with both dictionary-based (Linguistic Inquiry Word Count 2015) and open-vocabulary linguistic features (words, phrases, and topics). Loneliness and depression were found to have highly overlapping language profiles, including sickness, pain, and negative emotions as (cross-sectional) risk factors, and social relationships and activities as protective factors. Compared to depression, the language associated with loneliness reflects a stronger cognitive focus, including more references to cognitive processes (i.e., differentiation and tentative language, thoughts, and the observation of irregularities), and cognitive activities like reading and writing. As might be expected, less lonely users were more likely to reference social relationships (e.g., friends and family, romantic relationships), and use first-person plural pronouns. Our findings suggest that the mechanisms of loneliness include self-oriented cognitive activities (i.e., reading) and an overattention to the interpretation of information in the environment. These data-driven ecological findings suggest interventions for loneliness that target maladaptive social cognitions (e.g., through reframing the perception of social environments), strengthen social relationships, and treat other affective distress (i.e., depression).
Feeling Lonely, Engaging Online During the Outbreak of COVID-19: A Longitudinal Study of Chinese Older Adults

Abstract:Background and objectives: There is growing concern that the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and associated social distancing policies may exacerbate mental health problems in older adults. Most studies primarily have focused on developed countries, whereas the mental consequences of the pandemic in developing countries are less well known. This study evaluates the influences of the global pandemic in relation to loneliness and family contact among older Chinese adults and examines the roles of internet adoption in alleviating the emotional experience of loneliness. Research design and methods: We run individual fixed effects regression models using the 2018 and 2020 waves of the Chinese Family Panel Studies survey with 4,944 respondents aged 60 and above to capture the average within-person changes before and after the first outbreak of COVID-19 in China. We further examine the mediating effects of internet adoption on loneliness using structural equation modeling (SEM). Simultaneous SEM tested the effects of internet literacy and social network site use, and heterogeneous effects analyses were also conducted across subgroups. Results: Fixed effects estimates indicated increased loneliness and decreased family contact during the pandemic. Moreover, more older adults were found to use the internet in 2020. The fixed-effect estimations and structural equation models consistently found that older adults' use of the internet contributed to more social contacts and virtual meetings with their children, which have alleviated the emotional experience of loneliness. Discussion and implications: Digital inclusion of older adults to adopt the internet can be beneficial to improve mental well-being and alleviate loneliness during times of pandemic crisis. The targeted acceleration of digitalization to reduce the digital divide needs to be considered.

Abstract:<span class="a-plus-plus abstract-section id-a-sec1"><h3 class="a-plus-plus">Purpose</h3><p class="a-plus-plus">Loneliness is increasingly recognised as the next critical public health issue. A plausible reason for this concern may be related to emerging societal trends affecting the way we relate, communicate, and function in our social environment. In 2006, a prominent review of the clinical significance of loneliness was published. However, there has not been a comprehensive update on known and emerging risk factors and correlates of loneliness since then. Furthermore, there is no conceptual model that has been developed to better account for the complexity of loneliness and to inform the development of evidence-based solutions as we challenge the issues of the twenty-first century.</p></span><span class="a-plus-plus abstract-section id-a-sec2"><h3 class="a-plus-plus">Methods</h3><p class="a-plus-plus">We reviewed the current literature to identify either known or emerging risk factors and correlates of loneliness since 2006. This includes new or known evidence on: (1) demography; (2) health, including physical health; mental health; cognitive health; brain, biology, and genetics; and (3) socio-environmental factors including digital communication and the workplace.</p></span><span class="a-plus-plus abstract-section id-a-sec3"><h3 class="a-plus-plus">Results</h3><p class="a-plus-plus">We synthesized the literature according to a new proposed conceptual model of loneliness which showed the interplay between known and emerging correlates and risk factors from demography, health, to socio-environmental factors. In the conceptual model of loneliness, we illustrated how solutions can be delivered and tailored to an individual based on their life circumstances and preferences.</p></span><span class="a-plus-plus abstract-section id-a-sec4"><h3 class="a-plus-plus">Conclusion</h3><p class="a-plus-plus">We concluded by making specific recommendations in advancing our scientific understanding of loneliness. Our knowledge can only be deepened if we increase scientific rigour via accounting for confounding variables and using longitudinal, multi-disciplinary, and multiple methodologies in research. We also call for the rigorous evaluation of programs targeting loneliness.</p></span>

Abstract:The objective of the study is to examine coronavirus disease (COVID-19) related discussions, concerns, and sentiments that emerged from tweets posted by Twitter users. We analyze 4 million Twitter messages related to the COVID-19 pandemic using a list of 25 hashtags such as "coronavirus," "COVID-19," "quarantine" from March 1 to April 21 in 2020. We use a machine learning approach, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), to identify popular unigram, bigrams, salient topics and themes, and sentiments in the collected Tweets. Popular unigrams include "virus," "lockdown," and "quarantine." Popular bigrams include "COVID-19," "stay home," "corona virus," "social distancing," and "new cases." We identify 13 discussion topics and categorize them into five different themes, such as "public health measures to slow the spread of COVID-19," "social stigma associated with COVID-19," "coronavirus news cases and deaths," "COVID-19 in the United States," and "coronavirus cases in the rest of the world". Across all identified topics, the dominant sentiments for the spread of coronavirus are anticipation that measures that can be taken, followed by a mixed feeling of trust, anger, and fear for different topics. The public reveals a significant feeling of fear when they discuss the coronavirus new cases and deaths than other topics. The study shows that Twitter data and machine learning approaches can be leveraged for infodemiology study by studying the evolving public discussions and sentiments during the COVID-19. Real-time monitoring and assessment of the Twitter discussion and concerns can be promising for public health emergency responses and planning. Already emerged pandemic fear, stigma, and mental health concerns may continue to influence public trust when there occurs a second wave of COVID-19 or a new surge of the imminent pandemic.
Do Social Media and Messaging Apps Influence Loneliness? The Case of Young Malaysian Higher Education Students during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract:Research into the impact of social media on psychological well-being has produced conflicting findings, with a corresponding lack of certainty about the direction of the effect. Since early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated a re-assessment of the available evidence, also in Malaysia. The present study focuses on feelings of loneliness among unmarried young Malaysian adults, the so-called Generation Z, a demographic most likely to suffer mental health problems due to social confinement. An exploratory online survey (n = 103) was conducted to find out how lonely Malaysian youngsters are, focusing on those in higher education. To measure this, use was made of the UCLA Loneliness Scale. The main research question is whether loneliness relates to participants’ usage of social networking sites (e.g. Instagram), messaging apps (e.g. WhatsApp) or their reasons for doing so (e.g., meeting diversion or affective needs). Results show that in Malaysia, young adults’ feelings of loneliness under COVID restrictions vary independently of their social media and messaging app usage and the needs these digital technologies fulfil. Even the weak or moderate associations that were identified are likely due to chance factors. Our study supports, therefore, scholarship that questions the direct effect of social media platforms on loneliness regardless of the role they play in promoting meaningful in-person interactions. Possible explanations and implications of these findings will be discussed. One conjecture is that Malaysia’s shared cultural values might form a buffer against adverse well-being effects of both the pandemic and SMMA usage. Real-time monitoring and assessment of Twitter discussions and concerns could provide useful data for public health emergency responses and planning. Pandemic-related fear, stigma, and mental health concerns are already evident and may continue to influence public trust when a second wave of COVID-19 occurs or there is a new surge of the current pandemic.

Loneliness during COVID-19: Development and influencing factors

Abstract:In early pandemic waves, when vaccination against COVID-19 was not yet an option, distancing and reduced social contact were the most effective measures to slow down the pandemic. Changes in frequency and forms of social contact have reduced the spread of the COVID-19 virus and thus saved lives, yet there is increasing evidence for negative side effects such as mental health issues. In the present study, we investigate the development of loneliness and its predictors to examine the role of changes in social networks due to social distancing and other COVID-19-related life changes. A total of 737 participants (age range = 18–81 years) completed an online survey in three waves during the last quarter of 2020 at one-month intervals. Latent growth and multilevel modeling revealed that emotional loneliness increased over time, while social loneliness remained stable. Moreover, socially lonely individuals were likely to also develop emotional loneliness over time. Increased social distancing and sanitary measures were accompanied by decreased social interactions and loss of individuals considered SOS contacts and confidants. Changes in specific social network indicators were differentially associated with changes in emotional vs social loneliness: Loss of friends considered confidants was associated with increasing emotional loneliness, whereas loss of friends considered SOS contacts and reduced overall social interactions were related to increasing social loneliness. Lastly, individuals with more family-and-friend SOS contacts, more friends as confidants and an overall higher number of social interactions were more protected from feeling socially or emotionally lonely. Study findings enhance the understanding of underlying mechanisms differentially contributing to social and emotional loneliness and offer practical suggestions to reduce mental-health side effects of social distancing.

Abstract:Abstract Loneliness, a widespread global public health concern, has far-reaching implications for mental and physical well-being, as well as economic productivity. It also increases the risk of life-threatening conditions. This study conducts a comparative analysis of loneliness in the USA and India using Twitter data, aiming to contribute to a global public health map on loneliness. Collecting 4.1 million tweets globally in October 2022 containing keywords like “lonely”, “loneliness”, and “alone”, the analysis focuses on sentiment and psychosocial linguistic features. Utilizing the Valence Aware Dictionary for Sentiment Reasoning (VADER) for sentiment analysis, the study explores variations in loneliness dynamics across cities, revealing geographical distinctions in correlated topics. The tweets with negative sentiment were further analyzed for psychosocial linguistic features to find a meaningful correlation between loneliness and socioeconomic and emotional themes and factors. Results give detailed top correlated topics with loneliness for each city. The results showed that the dynamics of loneliness through the topics correlated vary across geographical locations. Social media data can be used to capture the dynamics of loneliness which can vary from one place to another depending on the socioeconomic and cultural norms and sociopolitical policies. Social media data to understand loneliness can also provide useful information and insight for public health and policymaking.

Abstract:Introduction: Recent studies have found that there is scope for communication technologies to increase online social capital. Although studies have linked online social capital and mental well-being, there is a need to identify the causal pathways within this relationship. This study explores the role of loneliness in the relationship between computer-mediated communication, online social capital and well-being. Methods: The study used an online questionnaire and had 217 participants. William's 2006 scale was used to measure individuals' online social capital, and structural equational modelling (SEM) was used to explore the relationship between computer-mediated communication, use, levels of loneliness, online social capital and well-being. This study was conducted remotely during the first COVID-19 lockdown in Ireland. Results: High levels of online communication mitigated the otherwise negative effects of loneliness on well-being when online interaction fostered online social capital. Conclusion: Overall, the proposed model offers qualified support for the continued analysis of technology-mediated communication as a potential source for building online social capital and improving the well-being of particular individuals with high levels of loneliness.

Abstract:The World Health Organization (WHO) started the initiative on healthy ageing from 2016 to 2020, which has now continued into the United Nations (UN) Decade of Healthy Ageing 2021-2030. Research into healthy ageing and healthy ageing communities have emphasized that the concept of healthy ageing encompasses a plurality of views and has multiple dimensions. Anchored in a transdisciplinary approach, the present report thus aimed to investigate public perceptions of healthy ageing via a deep analysis of social media posts on Twitter. Original tweets, containing the terms "Healthy Ageing" OR "healthy aging" OR "healthyageing" OR "healthyaging", and posted in English between 1 January 2012 and 30 June 2022 were extracted. Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) Named Entity Recognition was applied to select for individual users. Topic modelling, specifically BERTopic was used to generate interpretable topics and descriptions pertaining to the concept of healthy ageing. Subsequently, manual thematic analysis was performed by the study investigators, with independent reviews of the topic labels and themes. A total of 63,809 unique tweets were analyzed and clustered semantically into 16 topics. The public perception of healthy ageing could be broadly grouped into three themes: (1) healthy diet and lifestyle, (2) maintaining normal bodily functions and (3) preventive care. While most perceptions dovetail WHO's definition, there are some points regarding skin appearances, beauty and aging that should be closely considered in the design of initiatives in the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing and beyond.

Abstract:Background: The COVID-19 pandemic and its corresponding preventive and control measures have increased the mental burden on the public. Understanding and tracking changes in public mental status can facilitate optimizing public mental health intervention and control strategies. Objective: This study aimed to build a social media–based pipeline that tracks public mental changes and use it to understand public mental health status regarding the pandemic. Methods: This study used COVID-19–related tweets posted from February 2020 to April 2022. The tweets were downloaded using unique identifiers through the Twitter application programming interface. We created a lexicon of 4 mental health problems (depression, anxiety, insomnia, and addiction) to identify mental health–related tweets and developed a dictionary for identifying health care workers. We analyzed temporal and geographic distributions of public mental health status during the pandemic and further compared distributions among health care workers versus the general public, supplemented by topic modeling on their underlying foci. Finally, we used interrupted time series analysis to examine the statewide impact of a lockdown policy on public mental health in 12 states. Results: We extracted 4,213,005 tweets related to mental health and COVID-19 from 2,316,817 users. Of these tweets, 2,161,357 (51.3%) were related to "depression," whereas 1,923,635 (45.66%), 225,205 (5.35%), and 150,006 (3.56%) were related to "anxiety," "insomnia," and "addiction," respectively. Compared to the general public, health care workers had higher risks of all 4 types of problems (all P <.001), and they were more concerned about clinical topics than everyday issues (eg, "students' pressure," "panic buying," and "fuel problems") than the general public. Finally, the lockdown policy had significant associations with public mental health in 4 out of the 12 states we studied, among which Pennsylvania showed a positive association, whereas Michigan, North Carolina, and Ohio showed the opposite (all P <.05). Conclusions: The impact of COVID-19 and the corresponding control measures on the public's mental status is dynamic and shows variability among different cohorts regarding disease types, occupations, and regional groups. Health agencies and policy makers should primarily focus on depression (reported by 51.3% of the tweets) and insomnia (which has had an ever-increasing trend since the beginning of the pandemic), especially among health care workers. Our pipeline timely tracks and analyzes public mental health changes, especially when primary studies and large-scale surveys are difficult to conduct.

Abstract:Background: The COVID-19 pandemic raised wide concern from all walks of life globally. Social media platforms became an important channel for information dissemination and an effective medium for public sentiment transmission during the COVID-19 pandemic. Objective: Mining and analyzing social media text information can not only reflect the changes in public sentiment characteristics during the COVID-19 pandemic but also help the government understand the trends in public opinion and reasonably control public opinion. Methods: First, this study collected microblog comments related to the COVID-19 pandemic as a data set. Second, sentiment analysis was carried out based on the topic modeling method combining latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT). Finally, a machine learning linear regression (ML-LR) model combined with a sparse matrix was proposed to explore the evolutionary trend in public opinion on social media and verify the high accuracy of the model. Results: The experimental results show that, in different stages, the characteristics of public emotion are different, and the overall trend is from negative to positive. Conclusions: The proposed method can effectively reflect the characteristics of the different times and space of public opinion. The results provide theoretical support and practical reference in response to public health and safety events.

The Differential Effects of Social Media on Depressive Symptoms and Suicidal Ideation Among the Younger and Older Adult Population in Hong Kong During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Population-Based Cross-sectional Survey Study

Abstract:Background Social media has become a ubiquitous part of daily life during the COVID-19 pandemic isolation. However, the role of social media use in depression and suicidal ideation of the general public remains unclear. Related empirical studies were limited and reported inconsistent findings. Little is known about the potential underlying mechanisms that may illustrate the relationship between social media use and depression and suicidal ideation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Objective This study tested the mediation effects of social loneliness and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms on the relationship between social media use and depressive symptoms and suicidal ideation, as well as the moderation effect of age on the mediation models. Methods We administered a population-based random telephone survey in May and June 2020, when infection control measures were being vigorously implemented in Hong Kong. A total of 1070 adults (658 social media users and 412 nonusers) completed the survey. Structural equation modeling (SEM) and multigroup SEM were conducted to test the mediation and moderation effects. Results The weighted prevalence of probable depression was 11.6%; 1.6% had suicidal ideation in the past 2 weeks. Both moderated mediation models of depressive symptoms (χ262=335.3; P<.05; comparative fit index [CFI]=0.94; nonnormed fit index [NNFI]=0.92; root mean square error of approximation [RMSEA]=0.06) and suicidal ideation (χ234=50.8; P .05). The indirect effects via PTSD symptoms were statistically significant among younger people (β=.02; P=.04) and older people (β=.03; P=.01). Social loneliness was not a significant mediator between social media use and suicidal ideation among either age group (P>.05). Conclusions Social media may be a “double-edged sword” for psychosocial well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic, and its roles vary across age groups. The mediators identified in this study can be addressed by psychological interventions to prevent severe mental health problems during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of Nd:YAG on microtensile bond strength (microTBS) of different adhesive systems for human dentin. BACKGROUND DATA Lasers have been widely used in dentistry. New adhesive systems with different chemical compositions are introduced every year, and it is important to investigate the bonding of new adhesive systems to dentin irradiated with laser. METHODS The occlusal surfaces of third molars were removed to obtain flat dentin surfaces. The teeth were randomly divided into six groups. Each adhesive system was applied, according to manufacturers' instructions, to surface dentine with and without Nd:YAG laser irradiation (0.9 W, 15 Hz, 60 mJ per pulse). A block of composite resin was built over the adhesive layer. The specimens were sectioned to obtain 0.70 x 0.70 mm of transversal section. Twenty test specimens were selected for each group, and were then submitted to microTBS on a universal testing machine. RESULTS According to Student's t-test, for Single Bond, there was no statistically significant difference without (49.32 MPa) and with (47.34 MPa) laser application (p = 0.60). For the Tyrian SPE/One Step Plus, microTBS value with laser (27.09 MPa) was statistically higher than without laser (19.13 MPa), as well as for Adper Prompt L-Pop (22.85 and 13.78 Mpa; p < or = 0.01). CONCLUSION The application of Nd:YAG laser to dentin provided an increase in the bond strength values for the Tyrian SPE/One Step Plus and Adper Prompt L-Pop adhesive systems, but did not influence the bond strength values of the Single Bond adhesive system.

Abstract:Online social media provides a channel for monitoring people's social behaviors and their mental distress. Due to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19 people are increasingly using online social networks to express their feelings. Consequently, there is a significant amount of diverse user-generated social media content. However, COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live, study, socialize and recreate and this has affected our well-being and mental health problems. There are growing researches that leverage online social media analysis to detect and assess user's mental status. In this paper, we survey the literature of social media analysis for mental disorders detection, with a special focus on the studies conducted in the context of COVID-19 during 2020-2021. Firstly, we classify the surveyed studies in terms of feature extraction types, varying from language usage patterns to aesthetic preferences and online behaviors. Secondly, we explore detection methods used for mental disorders detection including machine learning and deep learning detection methods. Finally, we discuss the challenges of mental disorder detection using social media data, including the privacy and ethical concerns, as well as the technical challenges of scaling and deploying such systems at large scales, and discuss the learnt lessons over the last few years.
