Abstract:Background/Aim Traumatic dental injuries are the result of impact injuries to the teeth and/or soft and hard tissues within and around the vicinity of the oral cavity and pose a very serious public health dilemma. The aim of this study was to appraise the level of knowledge of dentists in Australia regarding the management of traumatic dental injuries based on the International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) guidelines. Methodology A link to an electronic questionnaire investigating personal and professional information and twelve questions about dental trauma was distributed by email using the Qualtrics Survey Software to ensure anonymity of the respondents, to members of the Australian Dental Association. The respondents were grouped according to demographic characteristics and practice profiles. Data were evaluated by the Student's T test or one‐way ANOVA with post hoc testing using Fisher's least significant difference, with the α level set at 5%. Results A total of 180 complete responses were obtained. The overall mean number of correct answers was 7.55 ± 1.91 from a maximum possible score of twelve. Gender, year of primary dental qualification, dentist identity (general dentist or specialist), area of main practice or region worked by the practitioner did not significantly affect the mean scores. However, increased knowledge of the IADT guidelines was significantly associated with the number of trauma cases treated and the dentists' self‐reported knowledge. Conclusions The overall knowledge of Australian dentists regarding the management of traumatic dental injuries based on the IADT guidelines was generally good but it was also deficient in some areas.

To Assess the Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Dental Trauma and Its Management among School Teachers

Abstract:Background: Dental traumas, particularly tooth avulsion, represent a significant dental emergency among children, frequently occurring in schools. The knowledge and immediate response of schoolteachers are crucial for the prognosis of such emergencies. Materials and methods: This interventional study assessed the knowledge and attitudes of 248 primary school teachers in Rajasthan, India, regarding dental trauma management. Utilizing a questionnaire-based approach, the study was conducted in three phases: preintervention assessment, an informative 45-minute lecture, and a postintervention follow-up. Statistical significance was set at 5%, and the Chi-square test was employed for analysis. Results: The initial survey revealed a lack of knowledge among teachers regarding dental trauma management, with significant improvement observed in the follow-up phase post intervention. Over 90% of participants showed improved knowledge, with statistical significance (P < 0.0001). Conclusion: The study highlights a notable deficiency in school teachers' knowledge on dental trauma management initially, which significantly improved following an oral health promotion intervention. This underscores the effectiveness of educational programs in enhancing the management of dental emergencies by schoolteachers.
Knowledge Level and Practice of Primary School Teachers Regarding Traumatic Dental Injuries and Their Emergency Management in Twin Cities

Abstract:Background: Childhood dental trauma frequently occurs at school, with primary school teachers often being the first responders. The immediate response and management by teachers can help mitigate the adverse physical, psychological, and social impacts of dental trauma on children. Despite the significance, there is limited data on the knowledge and practices of primary school teachers regarding the emergency management of dental injuries. Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the knowledge level and practices of primary school teachers concerning dental trauma and its emergency management. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in primary schools of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. A sample of 335 primary school teachers was selected using simple random sampling. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire adapted from Ivanda et al. (10), which included three sections: demographic information, background and satisfaction with current knowledge, and specific knowledge of dental trauma management. The questionnaire consisted of 14 multiple-choice questions, and knowledge was scored out of 14 points. Scores were categorized as good (11.2-14 points), moderate (8.4-11.1 points), or poor (<8.3 points) based on Bloom's cut-off points. Statistical analyses were conducted using Fisher’s exact test, chi-square test, and independent t-test with a significance threshold of p≤0.05. Results: All participants reported they had not received training for traumatic dental injuries (TDIs). The majority (97.9%) demonstrated poor knowledge, with only 2.1% showing moderate knowledge and none achieving a good knowledge level. There was a statistically significant difference in knowledge between private and public sector teachers (p=0.04), but no significant correlations were found between knowledge scores and age, education level, or teaching experience. Conclusion: Traumatic dental injuries occur frequently in schools, and teachers should be well-equipped to handle such emergencies. The study highlights the insufficient knowledge among primary school teachers regarding dental trauma management. Comprehensive training programs are recommended to improve teachers' preparedness, potentially reducing the physical and psychological impacts of dental trauma on children.

Abstract:Background: Infective endocarditis (IE) is a serious complication primarily affecting patients with cardiac conditions. It is widely recognized that oral microorganisms contribute to the development of IE. Objectives: The objective is to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and perception of parents of children at risk of IE by studying the preventive measures employed by them. Materials and methods: A self-constructed questionnaire composed of 14 questions was distributed among parents of children aged 0-12 years with known cardiac diseases. The parents/caregivers who were attending the pediatric outpatient clinics at King Fahad Medical City (KFMC) were selected randomly. Results: A total of 112 parents responded to this questionnaire. Almost 50% of the participants in this study reported that their children do not brush their teeth regularly, with only 12.5% of them brushing twice a day. Regarding the role of parents in supervising oral hygiene, 62.5% of them stated that they only provide advice but do not watch their child brush their teeth, and only 9.8% of parents are actively involved in advising and watching their children brush their teeth. In this study, 95.5% of parents agreed that maintaining good dental health was crucial for overall body health, and 58% of the participants showed interest in receiving more education about oral health and its impact on overall well-being. To assess the statistical significance, a nonparametric Pearson's chi-square test for fitness was employed. A p-value of ≤ 0.05 was used to report the statistical significance of the results. Conclusion: While the parents demonstrated adequate knowledge of oral health, their attitudes toward it were lacking. So, both parents and children require a modification in their attitudes toward dental care and oral health.

Abstract:Parent-targeted oral health awareness campaigns should place a strong emphasis on issues like the value of deciduous teeth and how to treat them, frequent dental checkups, and dietary habits. The current study's objective is to evaluate parents' knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes regarding their children's oral health and how those factors affect the prevalence of dental caries in 5- to 10-year-old children in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Parents of school-aged children aged 5 to 10 who came to our hospital were the subjects of a cross-sectional questionnaire survey. The study included 209 children in all, together with their parents. Utilizing DMFT and the deft index, clinical examinations of children were conducted. Parents were given a self-designed questionnaire to evaluate their understanding, attitudes, and practices about their children's dental health. SPSS version 24 was used for the statistical analysis. A p-value of 0.05 or less was regarded as statistically significant when using the ANOVA test to examine the relationship between dental caries status and KAP. The mean deft and DMFT were 6.46 ± 1.6 and 1.56 ± 2.8, respectively. Most parents (72.2%) demonstrated adequate knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes. Parental KAP and mean DMFT/DEFT did not differ significantly. The study's participants had reasonable KAP for the oral health of their children. The significance of deciduous teeth and their treatment, frequent dental appointments, and dietary behaviors are among the knowledge gaps in oral health.

Abstract:Background Dental radiography is an essential diagnostic tool in paediatric dentistry. Aim To explore attitudes, knowledge, and related factors of paediatric dental radiography among parents who attended the radiology department of a premier public dental hospital. Design The study was conducted at the National Dental Hospital (Teaching) Sri Lanka among 124 parents whose children (<13‐years) underwent dental radiographic examination. Data on sociodemographic characteristics, radiographic investigations, and parental knowledge and attitudes on paediatric dental radiography were collected using an interviewer‐administered questionnaire. Data were entered and analyzed using the SPSS‐21 statistical software package. Results The mean score (95% CI) of parental attitudes and knowledge on paediatric dental radiography were 17.55 (17.64–18.45) on a scale from 7 to 35 and 3.73 (3.34–4.13) on a scale from −7 to +7, respectively. Significant differences in parental knowledge were evident by child's age (p = 0.046), ethnicity (p = 0.035), and parental attitudes (p = 0.024). Binary logistic regression analysis revealed a significant independent association between parental attitudes with parental knowledge: OR (95% CI) = 2.413 (1.098–5.302) (p = 0.028). Conclusions Parents demonstrated less favorable attitudes but sufficient knowledge on many aspects of paediatric dental radiography. Therefore, interventions are needed to improve parental attitudes on paediatric dental radiography especially by providing child‐friendly services.

Understanding the building blocks of the paediatric dentistry curriculum for undergraduate students in an Australian University

Abstract:Purpose: To investigate the attitude of final-year dental students towards their paediatric dentistry training and their confidence in treating child patients. Methods: A 55-item questionnaire was distributed online and physically to the final-year BDSc (Hons) students at The University of Queensland (Australia). The questionnaire consisted of four parts including theoretical knowledge, clinical observational experience, preclinical training and clinical training in paediatric dentistry. Self-reported confidence was recorded using five-point Likert scale questions ranging from 'not confident at all' to 'completely confident', which were allocated the numbers 1-5, respectively. Jamovi and GraphPad Prism were used for data analysis and creation of graphs. Results: A total of 47 students completed the questionnaire giving a response rate of 77%. Approximately two-thirds of participants had previous experience working with children and 70% had observed a practitioner providing paediatric dental treatment. The students reported the lowest level of clinical confidence for pulp therapy (M = 2.32; SD = 1.08). The clinical confidence in dental trauma management was also reported to be low (M = 2.50; SD = 1.15). The clinical administration of local anaesthetic (LA) had the highest level of confidence (M = 3.95; SD = 1.03). The students reported that they were highly confident in the theoretical knowledge of behaviour guidance techniques (M = 3.64; SD = 0.97) and preclinical training involving examination, treatment planning and preventative procedures (M = 4.33, SD = 0.67). Conclusion: This study showed that students reported low levels of confidence in pulp therapies and trauma management in children as compared to other aspects of paediatric dentistry. Students indicated the need for more preclinical and clinical training sessions, as well as more opportunities to perform a wider variety of treatments on paediatric patients.
Are we adequately managing the oral health needs of children: a survey of the experience of general dentists and self-assessed confidence in pediatric dentistry

Abstract:Childhood caries is a public health problem with a significant burden on the community. The specialist dental workforce cannot adequately manage all treatment needs in children. Therefore, the general dental community remains critical in delivering care to children. The purpose of this study was to investigate the self-rated confidence of general practitioners in treating children. A cross-sectional survey was designed that involved general dentists in various primary care centers in Jordan. Participants were asked to complete a questionnaire about their experience and self-perceived level of confidence in performing various procedures in children using the Likert scale. Descriptive statistics, t-tests and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used for data analysis. A total of 150 general dentists completed the questionnaire. The overall confidence score was high (3/4). Most respondents (86.7%) reported high confidence in providing prophylaxis and preventive treatment. The lowest level of confidence was reported for dental trauma and interceptive orthodontics. No statistically significant gender disparity was found except for the management of dental trauma in which males were significantly more confident than females. Regarding years of experience, confidence levels in dental trauma management were significantly higher among dentists with 5-10 years of experience compared to the recently graduated and the longest qualified dentists (p = 0.008). Similarly, for interceptive orthodontics, participants with 5-10 years of practice were significantly more confident compared to dentists in the other groups (p = 0.021). One-third of participants (30.1%) were not willing to treat children and considered them disruptive to their practice. Overall, This study revealed low levels of confidence in dental trauma management and interceptive orthodontics in children. Modification of dental curricula to increase clinical exposure should positively reflect on future levels of confidence. Strategies should be implemented to encourage general dentists to treat children to ensure equitable access for all.

Abstract:Background: The most significant problems in pediatric dentistry is behavioural resistance of children in the first visit. There is a debate on parental presence in operation room. The literature on dentists' preference of parental presence in the operatory is sparse. Aims: 1. To determine the percentage of dentists in a major city who prefer parental presence in the dental operatory. 2. To correlate parameters like practitioners’ gender, practice type, patient volume, and patient age in allowing parental accompaniment. 3. To determine the significant variable that constraints dentists from allowing parental presence. Methods And Materials: The study group included pediatric dentists and dentists who treat children in their private or institutional practice. Specific variables that were addressed in the questionnaire and used for the correlation included: practitioners age, gender, qualification, years in practice, practice type, volume of children treated by them, attitudes towards parental accompaniment and variables that constraints the dentist while treating children in parental presence. Results: 43% dentists felt comfortable treating children in the presence of parents. Factors like gender, practice type and volume of patients have shown to influence the attitude of dentist towards parental accompaniment. The major constraint reported by dentists is that of parents intercepting orders and thus affecting the rapport between the dentist and child (85.6%, n=89) Conclusion: The dentists practicing in this city demonstrated a positive trend towards increased parental presence in the operatory.

Abstract:Introduction: Dental trauma has emerged as a significant aspect of dental public health. Traumatized teeth require early and appropriate treatment, which frequently relies on the competence of the dentists, doctors, and nurses who provide the primary care. Aim: To assess the knowledge and attitude of paramedical students about the emergency management of avulsed tooth. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire survey consisting of 17 questions was designed and circulated among 365 paramedical students (nursing, pharmacy and physiotherapy) of Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar, Gujarat, India, to assess their knowledge and attitude about the emergency management of avulsed tooth. Descriptive statistics were applied by Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 20.0. Results: Total 260 (71.23%, mean age of 23 years) students responded, with 71 students from Physiotherapy, 106 from Nursing and 83 from Pharmacy. A total of. 178 (68.46%) students comprehend the meaning of avulsion. While 193 (74.23%) students had knowledge that tooth re-implantation is possible. Of all the respondents, 192 students (73.84%) were familiar about the benefit of mouth guards for prevention of sports injury and 125 students (48.07%) opined that it is very important to be acquainted with emergency management of dental trauma. Conclusion: Though the paramedical students had good understanding about tooth avulsion, they were unaware about the emergency management of the situation. This warrants the need of incorporating training programmes dedicated to the subject in their curriculum.
Traumatic dental injuries: Knowledge assessment of dentists in the Norwegian Public Dental Service of Vestland

Abstract:Background/Aim Most children and adolescents in Norway attend the Public Dental Service (PDS) where they are treated free‐of‐charge until the age of 19 years. Thus, general dentists employed in the PDS are the primary care providers for traumatic dental injuries (TDI) in young patients. This cross‐sectional study assessed the knowledge of PDS general dentists on the acute management and follow‐up of TDI and its socio‐demographic and attitudinal covariates. Materials and Methods All general dentists employed in the Vestland County PDS, Western Norway, (N = 170) received an online questionnaire. Socio‐demographic and professional profiles of respondents as well as attitudinal indicators were queried. Clinical case scenarios on emergency treatment and further follow‐ups of TDI were used to calculate a dental trauma knowledge score (DTKS; range: 0–21). Mann–Whitney U tests and Kruskal–Wallis tests determined differences between the demographic subgroups. Logistic regressions determined the potential of single factors in explaining the variability in dental trauma knowledge. Results The response rate was 46%. Most participants (60.5%) had not participated in a TDI course after graduation but would like such a course (84.2%). Mean DTKS was 13.82 (±2.6). Knowledge scores differed significantly between age groups (p = .014) and years since graduation (p = .0018). Younger dentists and recently graduated dentists scored highest. Dentists under the age of 30 years scored higher than 30–39‐ and 40–49‐year‐old dentists in these areas: emergency treatment of crown fractures with pulp exposure, identification of complications after avulsion, and management of severe intrusive luxation injury. Conclusion Younger dentists had a higher theoretical knowledge of TDI. Continuing professional development among dentists in the Norwegian PDS is needed for emergency treatment and complication management after TDI.

Abstract:Introduction: Malocclusion is one of the most important oral health problems among children and young adults, leads to social stigma and psychological disorders. Early detection of orthodontic disorders is essential in motivating patients to intervene prior to long-term complications when the disorders are not recognized. The aim of this study is to determine and evaluate the knowledge and attitude of general dentists and non-orthodontic specialists towards early orthodontic treatment. Materials and Method: A total of 240 dentists and other specialists than orthodontists participated in the study. A questionnaire consisting of 3 domains having 17 items was circulated using Google forms. The responses were collected further coded and analysed to assess the knowledge and attitude scores. Data was entered in SPSS (v.21.0) and statistical analysis was performed. (p<0.05) Result: A total of 122 general dentists and 122 non-orthodontic specialists responded to the questionnaire. The results showed that the non-orthodontic specialist had a higher mean knowledge score of 7.2 as compared to general dentists (6.1). Furthermore, both the study participants had a positive strong attitude towards improving their knowledge in early orthodontic treatment. Conclusion: The study highlights the need of better education for treatment concepts in orthodontics to the general dentist and non-orthodontic specialist.
Orthodontic management of traumatized teeth: a survey among orthodontists

Abstract:Background: Information on previous traumatic dental injuries is important as they can lead to increased complications during orthodontic treatment and impact the treatment planning and outcomes. The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge of Jordanian orthodontists in orthodontic management of traumatized permanent teeth. Methods: Cross-sectional survey among active registered orthodontists using a questionnaire distributed by hand. Results: The study included 139 orthodontists. Nearly half of orthodontists treated between one to three patients with a history of traumatic dental injuries in the past 3 months. Only 43.2% of the participant asked routinely about history of trauma. A vast discrepancy in times waited before orthodontic movement and in the orthodontic management approach of traumatized teeth was noted. A statistically significant negative relationship between age and knowledge level was found (p = 0.002). A significantly higher level of knowledge was found among participants who had fellowship or board certification than those having the high diploma degree (P-0.032) and also who had treated patients with history of dental trauma in the last 3 months than those who did not (p = 0.001). Conclusions: The knowledge of the surveyed orthodontists in both the recommended observation period before orthodontic treatment and management approaches of traumatized teeth during orthodontic treatment was insufficient. Years of clinical experience significantly affected knowledge, with older participants having lower levels of knowledge. Orthodontists who treated patients with history of dental trauma in the last 3 months had significantly higher knowledge in orthodontic management of traumatized teeth. Orthodontists needs to be aware of the proper timing and strategies on orthodontic management of traumatized permanent teeth to improve the long term prognosis and to reduce further complications during orthodontic treatment through proper management.
The role of paediatricians in oral health of preschool children in the United Kingdom: a national survey of paediatric postgraduate specialty trainees

Abstract:AimThere is little information available about oral health knowledge of paediatricians in the UK. The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge, training and attitudes of postgraduate (PG) paediatric trainees regarding oral health and determine the willingness to play an active role in promotion of better dental health in preschool children.MethodsA web-based anonymous survey of PG paediatric trainees was sent to all 3,180 registered PG specialty trainees through their E-Portfolio by the Education and Training Support Team of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.ResultsA total of 479 PG speciality trainees at different levels of training completed the survey, resulting in a response rate of 15 %. Seven questions assessed the related training and attitudes of the PG specialty trainees towards their role in children’s oral health. 96 % of respondents found the amount of training in oral health too little and 95 % responded they had not received any teaching during their training. Although 74 % of participants agreed that paediatricians should assess children’s oral health, 61 % rated their ability as below average. The last three questions inquired about more specific oral health knowledge. Regarding recommended fluoride concentration in children’s toothpastes in the UK, only 20 % of the PG specialty trainees responded correctly according to the current Department of Heath guidelines that it should be 1,000 ppm or more.ConclusionsAlthough the surveyed PG specialty trainees overwhelmingly believed they should play an active part in promoting better oral health for young children, a reported lack of training and up-to-date information appears to limit their role in education of parents and prevention of oral disease at an early stage.
An Educational Initiative for Dubai School Nurses and Physical Education Teachers on the Management of Traumatic Dental Injuries

Abstract:The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge of school nurses and physical education teachers (SN and PE teachers) about the emergency management of traumatic dental injuries (TDIs) in schools and to measure the impact of education on their knowledge. A longitudinal prospective study based on a questionnaire survey completed by 68 SN and PE teachers at three time periods (prior to, immediately after, and 3 months-post-educational intervention). Pre- and post t-test and repeated measures (analysis of variance) were used to compare the three group means for the same participants ( p < .05 was considered significant). Significant improvement in the knowledge score among participants was observed between the initial survey to immediately after the educational session and to 3 months after ( p = .047). Significant improvement in the choice of immediately seeking attention after tooth avulsion was observed ( p = .001). The initial knowledge deficiency about the emergency management of TDIs among SN and PE teachers was improved and sustained.
MicroRNA-9 Controls the Expression of Granuphilin/Slp4 and the Secretory Response of Insulin-producing Cells*

Abstract:Insulin release from pancreatic β-cells plays an essential role in blood glucose homeostasis. Several proteins controlling insulin exocytosis have been identified, but the factors determining the expression of the components of the secretory machinery of β-cells remain largely unknown. MicroRNAs are newly discovered small non-coding RNAs acting as repressors of gene expression. We found that overexpression of mir-9 in insulin-secreting cells causes a reduction in exocytosis elicited by glucose or potassium. We show that mir-9 acts by diminishing the expression of the transcription factor Onecut-2 and, in turn, by increasing the level of Granuphilin/Slp4, a Rab GTPase effector associated with β-cell secretory granules that exerts a negative control on insulin release. Indeed, electrophoretic mobility shift assays, chromatin immunoprecipitation, and transfection experiments demonstrated that Onecut-2 is able to bind to the granuphilin promoter and to repress its transcriptional activity. Moreover, we show that silencing of Onecut-2 by RNA interference increases Granuphilin expression and mimics the effect of mir-9 on stimulus-induced exocytosis. Our data provide evidence that in insulin-producing cells adequate levels of mir-9 are mandatory for maintaining appropriate Granuphilin levels and optimal secretory capacity.

Abstract:Alosetron (Lotronex®, GlaxoSmithKline) is a potent and selective 5-HT3-receptor antagonist approved by the FDA for the treatment of women with diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in whom conventional therapy has failed. Studies involving healthy volunteers and IBS patients have demonstrated a beneficial effect of treatment with alosetron on global IBS symptoms, abdominal pain and discomfort, altered bowel function as well as improvement of quality of life (QOL). Data from animals studies suggest the involvement of 5-HT3 receptors on intrinsic primary afferent neurons in the mediation of the effect of alosetron on gastrointestinal motility and secretion. While definitive proof of a visceroanalgesic action is not available, an additional central mechanism of action is suggested by findings obtained in animal models, as well as from human brain imaging studies. Alosetron shows a greater effectiveness in women, and the role of genetic factors underlying inter-individual differences in the response to alosetron is currently under investigation. The most frequent adverse event associated with the use of alosetron is constipation and in some rare cases, the development of colonic mucosal ischaemia. In the following review, the most recent reported effects of alosetron on gastrointestinal motility, visceral sensitivity and anxiety, both in terms of preclinical and clinical data will be discussed. The impact of alosetron on QOL in IBS patients and the safety of treatment with alosetron, will also be covered.

Abstract:In this paper, we describe some of the problems associated with watermarking key management, with particular attention to the case of video. We also describe a possible solution to the problem, which is that of image-dependent watermarking, and briefly discuss some of the possible advantages to be gained from adopting such an approach. The paper also presents a simple, efficient means of robustly extracting bits from a video sequence. The algorithm has applications to secure, oblivious video watermark detection.
Assessment of the environmental risk factors associated with traumatic dental injuries among WHO index-aged children and adolescents

Abstract:Background: Traumatic dental injuries (TDIs) are becoming a worldwide phenomenon owing to their variable prevalence, and their etiology is considered multifactorial and complex in interactions among various risk factors. These are preventable if risk factors are analyzed and interpreted in all possible scientific manners. The objective of this study was to assess the various environmental risk factors (places of occurrence of TDI) among World Health Organization (WHO) index-aged children and adolescents (12 and 15 years). Material and methods: This was the epidemiological cross-sectional study conducted in Aligarh City, Uttar Pradesh, India, in the year 2018, with a sample size of 1000. Multistage random sampling technique was employed. Study data were collected by doing dental examination and structured interview with self-prepared pro forma in ten randomly selected sampling sites (schools) from different regions of the city. Subsequently, data were entered in an Excel sheet and then analyzed with the Chi-square test using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. Results: Overall, school (63; 46.7%) was found to be the most prevalent environmental risk factor for TDI followed by home (37; 27.4%), roadside (10; 7.4%), and playground (9; 6.7%). Fifteen (11.1%) affected individuals were not able to recall the place of the TDI incident, while 0.7% (1) had TDI occurrence in other places. Among 12-year index-aged children, home (15; 34.1%) was the most common place of TDI in rural regions, while school (27; 67.5%) was the most frequent place of TDI in urban regions. Among 15-year index-aged adolescents, school (19; 59.4%) was found to be the most common place in rural regions, whereas school (9; 47.4%) was the most frequent place of TDI in urban regions. Conclusion: Environmental factors, especially school premises, infrastructure, and playing facilities, need to be upgraded and built with an emphasis on a safer environment for children. Teachers, parents, and school children should be educated and made aware of the preventive measures for dental injuries in schools and homes. Appropriate safety gears should be mandatory to use among children and adolescents during outdoor sports and recreational activities.
