Abstract:In this paper, the problem of adaptive synchronization is investigated for stochastic neural networks of neutral-type with Markovian switching parameters. Using the M-matrix approach and the stochastic analysis method, some sufficient conditions are obtained to ensure three kinds of adaptive synchronization for the stochastic neutral-type neural networks. These three kinds of adaptive synchronization include the almost sure asymptotical synchronization, exponential synchronization in pth moment and almost sure exponential synchronization. Some numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness and potential of the proposed design techniques.

Abstract:The problem of adaptive synchronization is considered for stochastic delayed neural networks with Markovian switching and Lévy noise. The aim of the problem is to derive a sufficient condition and an adaptive control strategy such that the synchronization can be achieved for the master system and the slave system. By generalized Itô׳s formula and Lyapunov functional method, a sufficient condition in terms of LMI is established to ensure the synchronization of the two systems, and the adaptive update law is determined as well. A numerical simulation is provided to verify the usefulness of the proposed criterion.

Abstract:This paper discusses the problem of adaptive exponential synchronization in mean square for a new neural network model with the following features: 1) the noise is characterized by the Lévy process and the parameters of the model change in line with the Markovian process; 2) the master system is also disturbed by the same Lévy noise; and 3) there are multiple slave systems, and the state matrix of each slave system is an affine function of the state matrices of all slave systems. Based on the Lyapunov functional theory, the generalized Itô’s formula, $M$ -matrix method, and the adaptive control technique, some criteria are established to ensure the adaptive exponential synchronization in the mean square of the master system and each slave system. Moreover, the update law of the control gain and the dynamic variation of the parameters of the slave systems are provided. Finally, the effectiveness of the synchronization criteria proposed in this paper is verified by a practical example.

Abstract:In this paper, the problem of the adaptive almost surely asymptotically synchronization for stochastic delayed neural networks with Markovian switching is considered. By utilizing a new nonnegative function and the M-matrix approach, we derive a sufficient condition to ensure adaptive almost surely asymptotically synchronization for stochastic delayed neural networks. Some appropriate parameters analysis and update laws are found via the adaptive feedback control techniques. We also present an illustrative numerical example to demonstrate the effectiveness of the M-matrix-based synchronization condition derived in this paper.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the problem of finite-time synchronization control for uncertain Markov jump neural networks in the presence of constraints on the control input amplitude. The parameter uncertainties under consideration are assumed to belong to a fixed convex polytope. By using a parameter-dependent Lyapunov functional and a simple matrix decoupling method, a sufficient condition is proposed to ensure that the considered networks are stochastically synchronized over a finite-time interval. The desired mode-independent controller parameters can be computed via solving a convex optimization problem. Finally, two chaos neural networks are employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach.

Abstract:This paper investigates synchronisation for Markovian master-slave neural networks (NNs), where the transition probabilities of Markov chain are partially unknown and uncertain. To cope with the communication channel bandwidth constraint, an event-triggered impulsive transmission strategy is adopted, a corresponding impulsive controller is then designed. In this method, information transmission occurs only at some discontinous instants, which are determined by a state-dependent event-triggered condition as well as a predesigned forced impulse interval. Synchronization for Markovian master-slave NNs is guaranteed by a sufficient condition, and the controller gains are designed by using the obtained results. A numerical simulation is given to show the effectiveness of the presented method.

Abstract:In this paper, synchronization of an uncertain dynamical network with time-varying delay is investigated by means of adaptive control schemes. Time delays and uncertainties exist universally in real-world complex networks. Especially, parameters of nodes in these complex networks are usually partially or completely uncertain. Considering the networks with unknown or partially known nodes, we design adaptive controllers for the corresponding complex dynamical networks, respectively. Several criteria guaranteeing synchronization of such systems are established by employing the Lyapunov stability theorem. Analytical and numerical results show that the proposed controllers have high robustness against parameter variations including network topologies, coupling structures, and strength. Abstract:This paper addresses the problem of extended dissipativity-based synchronization for chaotic neural networks with polytopic-type uncertainties and actuator failures. By using a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function and a novel extended dissipation inequality, a criterion is proposed to guarantee that the synchronization error system is extended (X,Y,Z)-dissipative for all admissible uncertainties and actuator failures. Based on this criterion, a desired fault-tolerant controller is designed, which takes the possible actuator failures into account. A numerical example is presented to show the effectiveness of our proposed design method.

Abstract:This paper investigates the synchronization control of neural networks (NNs) considering parameter uncertainties by utilizing an improved asymmetric Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional (ALKF) method. Firstly, an uncertain NNs model with discrete and distributed delays is developed. To synchronize the master–slave system, a memory sampled-data controller is designed. Secondly, an improved ALKF is constructed, in which the positive-definite and symmetric restrictions of matrices are relaxed. Furthermore, improved synchronization criteria are established by linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which are based on the ALKF method and the integral inequality technique. Finally, two simulation examples are conducted to demonstrate the feasibility and superiority of the established stability conditions in reaching a maximum sampling period.

Abstract:This paper investigated the master-slave synchronization for uncertain neural networks with time-delay by using the sliding mode control method. The uncertain parts in this neural network only needs to be bounded other than any structure condition. An integral sliding mode surface and sliding mode controller were designed such that the state trajectories of the neural networks could reach the sliding mode surface in finite time. Moreover, the computing method of the controller gain was proposed. Finally, a numerical example was provided to show the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Abstract:This work concentrates on synchronization of neural networks (NNs) with Markovian parameters, where the Markov chain has partially unknown transition probabilities (PUTP). Due to the existence of interference and noise in practice, we combine the uncertain variable with the complex coupling term as the impulsive disturbance of NNs. A corresponding mode-dependent pinning controller is designed to reduce the control costs, and synchronization error system is also derived, whose impulsive update state is listed separately. A sufficient condition of synchronization for NNs is completed by constructing a Lyapunov functional candidate and a series of iterations. Because the disturbance should avoid being too frequent to guarantee synchronization of NNs, the allowed minimum interval h of the impulsive disturbance is derived. Finally, the correctness and the superiority of the developed result are illustrated by a numerical example.

Abstract:Synchronization control of a time-varying complex dynamical network model is investigated.We assume that the synchronous trajectories,entries of the coupling configuration matrix and inner-coupling matrix of the model are all bounded.When those bounds are a priori known or uncertain,a linear feedback scheme and an adaptive scheme are applied to globally synchronize the network respectively.By constructing the adequate Lyapunov function,we can always let a dynamical network,no matter how it is initialized,achieve asymptotic synchronization under the corresponding control scheme.In particular,the proposed adaptive control scheme shows a high robustness to the uncertainties in topological structure of network,coupling strength between nodes,time delays,etc.Numerical simulations validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:This paper aims to investigate the finite-time extended dissipative asynchronous sliding mode control (SMC) on semi-Markovian jump master–slave neural networks (MSNNs) subject to event-triggering scheme (ETS) and packet dropout. Considering ETS, packet dropout and network-induced delays, the asynchronous finite-time SMC which is more realistic is designed. Sufficient conditions are obtained that closed-loop system is extended dissipative stochastic finite-time bound. Meantime, we present novel results for closed-loop system on extended dissipative stochastic finite-time contractive bound. Finally, the biological neural network is presented to illustrate the validness of methods.

Abstract:A new method is presented to study the function projective lag synchronization (FPLS) of chaotic systems via adaptiveimpulsive control. To achieve synchronization, suitable nonlinear adaptive-impulsive controllers are designed. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory and the impulsive control technology, some effective sufficient conditions are derived to ensure the drive system and the response system can be rapidly lag synchronized up to the given scaling function matrix. Abstract:This study examines the synchronization problem of impulsive neural networks with mixed time-varying delays and linear fractional uncertainties. The mixed time-varying delays include distributed leakage, discrete and distributed time-varying delays. Moreover, the restrictions on derivatives of time-varying delays with upper bounds to smaller than one is relaxed by introducing free weight matrices. Based on suitable Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals and integral inequalities, linear matrix inequality approach is used to derive the sufficient conditions that guarantee the synchronization criteria of impulsive neural networks via delay dependent state feedback control. Finally, three numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Abstract:This investigation delved into the synchronization of master–slave systems in uncertain neural networks featuring randomly occurring uncertainties and time-delay, employing the sliding mode control technique. A strategy involving an integral sliding mode surface and controller has been developed to ensure the neural networks' state trajectories could swiftly reach the sliding mode surface.The goal was to achieve synchronization through the use of linear matrix inequalities by utilizing a reciprocally convex method with a Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional approach. Finally, a numerical illustration demonstrating the effectiveness of the obtained findings was shown.

Abstract:This paper investigates the problem of fixed-time synchronization of time-varying coupled competitive neural networks with impulsive effects. Synchronizing impulses and desynchronizing impulses are each taken into account. The innovative pure power-law control is designed in this paper to avoid vibratory behaviors, which is more straightforward and effective than the common design including the linear and power-law terms. Note that the key difficulty is determining how to ensure fixed-time synchronization and estimate the settling time in an impulsive sense since the impulsive influences may lead to the discontinuity of the states. However, the theoretical framework of fixed-time synchronization under desynchronizing impulses has not been constructed much in the existing literature, which deeply motivated us to contribute to this analysis. By using the average impulsive intervals method, graph theory, and the Lyapunov method, two cases of the settling time along with the fixed-time synchronization criteria regarding the synchronizing and desynchronizing impulses are given. Lastly, a numerical example is provided to show the viability and accuracy of the discovered theoretical results.

Abstract:This paper investigates the H<sub>∞</sub> master-slave synchronization problem for delayed impulsive implicit hybrid neural networks based on memory-state feedback control. By developing a more holistic stochastic impulse-time-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and dealing with the nonlinear neuron activation function, the stochastic admissibility and prescribed H<sub>∞</sub> performance index for the synchronization error closed-loop system are achieved. In addition, the desired mode-dependent memory-state feedback synchronization controller is acquired in the form of linear matrix inequalities. The free-weighting matrix technique is adopted to remove the inherent limitation of time-varying delay derivative for the implicit delayed systems, and the derivative of time-varying delay is relaxed enough to be greater than 1. The simulation of genetic regulatory network in bio-economic system is given to verify validity of the derived results.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the mean-square asymptotic synchronization of discrete-time delayed neural networks with missing data and uncertainty. The unreliable communication links between neural networks are considered, and the process of missing data is modeled as a stochastic process that satisfies Bernoulli distribution. A delay-dependent criterion is given in the form of matrix inequalities using the Lyapunov function approach. Then, a feedback controller is designed based on a reuse mechanism, which avoids the fluctuation of the controller input compared with the existing literature to ensure that the master-slave system with uncertainties is asymptotically synchronized in mean square. Simulated annealing (SA) algorithm is used to obtain the controller. Finally, numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical result.
