Abstract:In a collaborative virtual environment, users can freely join and share a virtual environment and do some collaborative work, which is highly synchronous. To achieve this work, we usually need two or more people's collaboration. The user action recurrence precision must accord with the request of the collaborative work, so that the user can effectively do the collaborative work. But if we adopt static high action recurrence precision, the system's scalability greatly decreases. This paper analyses the collaborative virtual environment system's scalability request and collaborative request, and gives a knowledge-based adaptive message filtering technique, which solves the scalability problem in the collaborative virtual environment system.

Abstract:In this paper, a workflow for designing a bot using Robotic Process Automation (RPA), associated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) that is used for information extraction, classification, etc., is proposed. The bot is equipped with many features that make email handling a stress-free job. It automatically login into the mailbox through secured channels, distinguishes between the useful and not useful emails, classifies the emails into different labels, downloads the attached files, creates different directories, and stores the downloaded files into relevant directories. It moves the not useful emails into the trash. Further, the bot can also be trained to rename the attached files with the names of the sender/applicant in case of a job application for the sake of convenience. The bot is designed and tested using the UiPath tool to improve the performance of the system. The paper also discusses the further possible functionalities that can be added on to the bot.

Abstract:Over the last two decades, speech technologies and systems of human-computer interaction have progressed steadily and significantly. Speech systems are now widely available for a wide variety of activities that are both exciting and limitless. Speech recognition and system interaction technologies allow machines to interact to human voices accurately and effectively, enabling them to provide helpful services. Recent researches are focused on designing modules that are much more reliable to variation of surrounding, sound source, and various language and it's tones. Human Computer Interaction technology requires human voice emotion detection from source speech signals, which is a heavy task for Human Computer Interaction technology. In the literature review, different well-established speech recognition processing technology and classification of techniques have been used to extract human emotions from source signals. Mailing system is the most important modes of communication in corporate or organization eco-system. Sending an automated response to new incoming messages is a standard practice in corporate culture, but most of the time it seems somehow boring task with regular use of same thing. A framework can be developed to automate the boring task of manually writing thousands of emails. This work proposes a system in which sender will login to own email account and with the help of voice commands and speech that individual will manage to context and send email to particular person available in sender's list. This study focuses on ASR systems with a broad vocabulary that can enable speaker-independent activity and continuous speech in multiple languages. This paper provides a summary of the speech recognition technology as well as the most recent developments. This paper is based on methodology and Architecture of voice interaction starting from sender name, subject and body of email which makes it audio controlled email bot.
A Reliable Component-Based Architecture for E-Mail Filtering

Abstract:A three-component architecture for the classification and filtering of unsolicited bulk and commercial e-mail ("spam") is introduced. The first component, an enhanced self-learning variant of greylisting, sets the stage for the following feature extraction and classification components. Through the temporary rejection of selected messages by the greylisting component time becomes available for an "offline" in-depth examination of the e-mail content before the message is accepted and delivered to the final recipient. Within the feature extraction component a set of features for each newly arriving e-mail message is determined. These features are then used for the categorization of a message within the classification engine, which contains the adaptation of a vector space model. Based on this model, an implementation of latent semantic indexing for spam filtering is investigated. The architecture proposed contributes to the goal of minimizing the waste of resources caused by spam and is able to react to high load situations (including DoS attacks) via adaptations in the feature extraction and classification components.

Abstract:The current research describes the use of e-mail reply suggestions from a socio-cultural perspective of some language-related variables. It also correlates how users perceive the use of e-mail reply suggestions to some variables: job, specialization, age, and gender. In this descriptive-inferential survey design, a self-developed questionnaire was distributed online to collect the data from a convenient sample of e-mail users. The analysis shows the study sample perceived medially the use of e-mail reply suggestions. There are statistically significant differences in the respondents' means about using e-mail reply suggestions according to the variable of job for education, specialization for humanities, and gender for females. Also, ages of less than 30 and above 50 years are of significance in using e-mail reply suggestions. The study reveals a weak inverse correlation, however, statistical between using e-mail reply suggestions and the language of those suggestions. In addition, a statistically significant positive direct correlation is found between usability and culture and society of e-mail reply suggestions. In light of the findings, the study recommends the better implementation of artificial intelligence-mediated communication in e-mail reply suggestions in association with some sociolinguistic factors. Also, future related studies are suggested.

Abstract:It is urgent to filter invalid or even hostile information in web information systems. A configurable rule engine is designed to solve the problem of simpleness and low self-adaptive ability of rule matching method in traditional information filtering algorithm. In the engine, functions are dynamically called by using reflect mechanism to achieve computing of atom rules, logic rules are described in XML file and transferred to AND/OR tree, AND/OR tree is transferred to 0-1 Matrix, efficient reasoning of logic rules is achieved by combining with AND/OR switching principle, and atom rules base and logic rule base are also configured. Finally, the conceptual model and design model for the rule engine are given, the rule engine is running by classifying and definition of lifecycle.
Instant Answering in E-Commerce Buyer-Seller Messaging using Message-to-Question Reformulation

Abstract:E-commerce customers frequently seek detailed product information for purchase decisions, commonly contacting sellers directly with extended queries. This manual response requirement imposes additional costs and disrupts buyer's shopping experience with response time fluctuations ranging from hours to days. We seek to automate buyer inquiries to sellers in a leading e-commerce store using a domain-specific federated Question Answering (QA) system. The main challenge is adapting current QA systems, designed for single questions, to address detailed customer queries. We address this with a low-latency, sequence-to-sequence approach, MESSAGE-TO-QUESTION ( M2Q ). It reformulates buyer messages into succinct questions by identifying and extracting the most salient information from a message. Evaluation against baselines shows that M2Q yields relative increases of 757% in question understanding, and 1,746% in answering rate from the federated QA system. Live deployment shows that automatic answering saves sellers from manually responding to millions of messages per year, and also accelerates customer purchase decisions by eliminating the need for buyers to wait for a reply

Abstract:This paper analyses several common algorithms for spam filtering and shows the advantages and disadvantages of these algorithms for spam filtering. Each algorithm is only suitable for filtering specific spam. Some algorithms are suitable for Chinese, and some algorithms perform well in English. In a lot of spam, it is not reliable and inefficiency to using a single algorithm to separate out spam. Thereby, in order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of spam filtering, composite intelligent algorithm, which integrates and improves the existing algorithms by utilizing the advantages of previous algorithms and avoiding their shortages, is proposed. Moreover, an intelligent method that it has the ability of self-learning by using the contents of the e-mails is introduced. Finally, the outcome of experiment shows that the intelligent method achieves a better efficiency and performance.

Abstract:The objective of the paper is to design an agent which provides efficient response to the caller when a call goes unanswered in smartphones. The agent provides responses through text messages, email etc stating the most likely reason as to why the callee is unable to answer a call. Responses are composed taking into consideration the importance of the present call and the situation the callee is in at the moment like driving, sleeping, at work etc. The agent makes decisons in the compostion of response messages based on the patterns it has come across in the learning environment. Initially the user helps the agent to compose response messages. The agent associates this message to the percept it recieves with respect to the environment the callee is in. The user may thereafter either choose to make to response system automatic or choose to recieve suggestions from the agent for responses messages and confirm what is to be sent to the caller.

Abstract:As a major component of online crime, email-based fraud is a threat that causes substantial economic losses every year. To counteract these scammers, volunteers called scam-baiters play the roles of victims, reply to scammers, and try to waste their time and attention with long and unproductive conversations. To curb email fraud and magnify the effectiveness of scam-baiting, we developed and deployed an expandable scam-baiting mailserver that can conduct scam-baiting activities automatically. We implemented three reply strategies using three different models and conducted a one-month-long experiment during which we elicited 150 messages from 130 different scammers. We compare the performance of each strategy at attracting and holding the attention of scammers, finding tradeoffs between human-written and automatically-generated response strategies, and we release both our platform and a dataset containing conversations between our automatic scam-baiters and real human scammers, to support future work in preventing online fraud.

Abstract:Email Retrieval task has recently taken much attention to help the user retrieve the email(s) related to the submitted query. Up to our knowledge, existing email retrieval ranking approaches sort the retrieved emails based on some heuristic rules, which are either search clues or some predefined user criteria rooted in email fields. Unfortunately, the user usually does not know the effective rule that acquires best ranking related to his query. This paper presents a new email retrieval ranking approach to tackle this problem. It ranks the retrieved emails based on a scoring function that depends on crucial email fields, namely subject, content, and sender. The paper also proposes an architecture to allow every user in a network/group of users to be able, if permissible, to know the most important network senders who are interested in his submitted query words. The experimental evaluation on Enron corpus prove that our approach outperforms known email retrieval ranking approaches.

Abstract:In this study, we introduce Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) with Social Network Analysis (SNA) to extract and evaluate latent features arising from mobile Short Messaging Services (SMSs) communication. This would help to automatically filter unsolicited SMS messages in order to proactively prevent their delivery. In addition, content-based filters may have their performance seriously jeopardized, because SMS messages are fairly short and their meanings are generally rife with idioms, onomatopoeias, homophones, phonemes and acronyms. As a result, the problem of text-mining was explored to understand the linguistic or statistical properties of mobile SMS messages in order to improve the performance of filtering applications. Experiments were successfully performed by collecting time-stamped short messages via mobile phones across a number of different categories on the Internet, using an English language-based platform, which is available on streaming APIs. The derived filtering system can in the future contribute in optimal decision-making, for instance, in a scenario where an imposter attempts to illegally gain confidential information from a subscriber or an operator by sending SMS messages.

Abstract:E-mail has been the most mature and widely used way of mail exchanging on Internet. But its ability is far more than this. Virtually,it can be used as a basic facility for data exchanging and automatic processing in various domain applications. From this point of view,a new model of E-mail application is presented in this paper,and based on the new model,we advise a two-layer framework for implementation. In the framework a middleware system EAMS is desigened and implemented with well generality,flexibility and expandability. Also meeting notification is discussed as a typical application.

Abstract:This paper presents a computationally efficient machine-learned method for natural language response suggestion. Feed-forward neural networks using n-gram embedding features encode messages into vectors which are optimized to give message-response pairs a high dot-product value. An optimized search finds response suggestions. The method is evaluated in a large-scale commercial e-mail application, Inbox by Gmail. Compared to a sequence-to-sequence approach, the new system achieves the same quality at a small fraction of the computational requirements and latency.
Auto Response Generation in Online Medical Chat Services

Abstract:Telehealth helps to facilitate access to medical professionals by enabling remote medical services for the patients. These services have become gradually popular over the years with the advent of necessary technological infrastructure. The benefits of telehealth have been even more apparent since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, as people have become less inclined to visit doctors in person during the pandemic. In this paper, we focus on facilitating the chat sessions between a doctor and a patient. We note that the quality and efficiency of the chat experience can be critical as the demand for telehealth services increases. Accordingly, we develop a smart auto-response generation mechanism for medical conversations that helps doctors respond to consultation requests efficiently, particularly during busy sessions. We explore over 900,000 anonymous, historical online messages between doctors and patients collected over nine months. We implement clustering algorithms to identify the most frequent responses by doctors and manually label the data accordingly. We then train machine learning algorithms using this preprocessed data to generate the responses. The considered algorithm has two steps: a filtering (i.e., triggering) model to filter out infeasible patient messages and a response generator to suggest the top-3 doctor responses for the ones that successfully pass the triggering phase. The method provides an accuracy of 83.28\% for precision@3 and shows robustness to its parameters.

Abstract:The ability to leverage the power of a network of social contacts is important to get things done. However, as the number of contacts increases, people often find it difficult to maintain their contact network by using merely memory, and are frequently encompassed with questions like "who is that person, I met him in Tokyo last year". Existing contact tools make up for the shortage of unreliable human memory by storing contact information in the digital format, but laying much burden on users on manually inputting contact data. This paper, however, presents a social contact management system called SCM, which supports the auto-collection of rich contact data by exploring the aggregated power of pervasive sensing and Web intelligence techniques. Regarding that people often need to leverage several associated things (e.g., meeting location) to fetch other information about a contact (e.g., his name), we also develop an associative contact retrieval method. The effectiveness and runtime performance of our system is validated through a set of experiments.
