Abstract:Orthodontic cases requiring tooth extraction sometimes involve post‐traumatic incisors. For adolescent cases in which trauma causes the maxillary unilateral incisors to be missing or have poor prognoses, it is worth considering these teeth as candidates for extraction, and this unusual approach is seldom reported in the literature. An adolescent patient with a missing maxillary left lateral incisor and an ankylosed maxillary left central incisor sought treatment for dental protrusion and crowding. An unusual orthodontic approach was used, which involved the extraction of the maxillary left central incisor and mandibular first premolars. After treatment, the maxillary right central incisor was successfully translocated across the midpalatal suture and transformed into the left central incisor. Additionally, well‐aligned teeth and enhanced smile aesthetics were achieved, and the treatment outcomes remained stable throughout the follow‐up period.

Abstract:ABSTRACT Aim The aim of this case report was to restore the esthetic smile of a patient with agenesis of maxillary right central incisor, while discussing the most important topics in a multidisciplinary approach. Background Due to the absence or loss of some teeth in the anterior region, it becomes a challenge in oral rehabilitation. Restoration of function and esthetics may require a multidisciplinary treatment that can start with periodontal, orthodontic, surgical, implantology, or restorative evaluation. Case report A 28-year-old patient with agenesis of the maxillary right central incisor was looking to improve the esthetics of his smile. The patient had right superior lateral incisor positioned in place of the central and the canine in the position corresponding to the lateral incisor, which compromised the dental and gingival esthetics. After analyses and digital smile design (DSD), surgeries for gingival smile correction, gingivectomy (teeth 12, 14, and 15), and gingival tissue grafts (tooth 13) were made. After a period of 2 months, preparations were made on teeth 12, 13, and 14 for ceramic laminates following the initial DSD. After 1 year of cementation, maintenance and stability of gingival margin, as well as the integrity of laminate ceramic were observed. Conclusion In conclusion, a correct prior planning of esthetic rehabilitation is the best way to achieve excellent results to meet the needs and objectives of each patient. Often, a multidisciplinary treatment involving surgical and restorative procedures should be taken into consideration, with the appropriate choice of techniques and materials to be used. Clinical significance The treatment performed on the patient allowed the esthetic improvement of gingival architecture and installation of ceramic restorations with function and esthetics similar to natural teeth. Abstract:A congenitally missing lateral incisor tooth is commonly associated with both short and long‐term clinical dilemmas, particularly for a growing patient. A unilaterally missing maxillary lateral incisor tooth creates a significant dental asymmetry in the critical aesthetic zone of the smile and potentially increases the difficulty of any subsequent orthodontic and restorative treatment. Carefully planned interdisciplinary management is required to address the challenges of anterior dental asymmetry, unilateral orthodontic space closure and to alleviate the concerns that accompany restorative implant placement in the anterior maxilla. The use of skeletal temporary anchorage devices has increased the predictability of orthodontic space closure, particularly for missing maxillary lateral incisor cases which were previously considered to be unsuitable.

Abstract:Introduction: After the mandibular third molars, the maxillary canines are the most displaced or impacted teeth in permanent dentition. Surgical-orthodontic disimpaction of impacted canines, followed by aesthetic reconstructions, can be a successful treatment choice. Aim: The aim of this case report was to describe the smile restoration through simultaneous surgical disimpaction of the two upper permanent canines in a 13-year-old patient who also presented with agenesis of the right upper lateral incisor and a conoid-shaped left upper lateral incisor. Treatment protocol: The present case report followed the Care Checklist For Case Reports. After having completed the multibrackets fixed orthodontic therapy phase necessary for the preparation of the anchorage, avulsions of the upper deciduous canines were carried out, followed by the making of surgical full thickness palatal flap in order to perform traction of the permanent canines, and an orthodontic eyelet with passive metal looped ligatures was applied. One week after the surgery, traction was started with Crescini-double arch technique. Subsequently, the avulsion of elements 2.2 and 5.2 were executed. At the end of orthodontic treatment, in order to optimise the aesthetics and function of the canines, a restorative treatment was carried out. Results and conclusions: After the surgical creation of a palatal flap, the disimpaction of the two upper canines, using the double arch technique, allowed the teeth to be moved into the desired position on the upper arch.
Management of a Class I malocclusion with traumatically avulsed maxillary central and lateral incisors

Abstract:This case report describes orthodontic space closure for managing an avulsed maxillary central incisor and a lateral incisor in a growing girl with a Class I deep bite malocclusion with moderate lower and mild upper crowding. The treatment approach moved a central incisor across the midline and substituted a lateral incisor for a central incisor, in combination with canine substitution. Veneers on all maxillary anterior teeth attained acceptable esthetics. The right central incisor was moved to serve as the avulsed left central incisor. The right lateral incisor was moved to the position of the right central incisor and restored. The canines on both sides were substituted as lateral incisors; the posterior occlusion was left in Class II. Mesialization of central and lateral incisors with prosthetic rehabilitation is an acceptable treatment option.

Evaluation and management of lipid disorders should be guided by current NCEP guidelines. For patients with elevated cholesterol levels after appropriate therapeutic lifestyle changes, statins are a safe and effective means of reducing cardiovascular events. Because of their proven safety and effectiveness, ASHP supports the use of statins as first-line therapy for the primary and secondary prevention of atherosclerotic events.

Abstract:Introduction: A canted occlusal plane presents an unesthetic element of the smile. The correction of this asymmetry has been typically considered difficult by orthodontists, as it requires complex mechanics and may sometimes even require orthognathic surgery. Objective: This paper outlines the case of a 29-year-old woman with Class II malocclusion, pronounced midline deviation and accentuated occlusal plane inclination caused by mandibular deciduous molar ankylosis. Methods: The patient was treated with a miniplate used to provide anchorage in order to intrude maxillary teeth and extrude mandibular teeth on one side, thus eliminating asymmetry. Class II was corrected on the left side by means of distalization, anchored in the miniplate as well. On the right side, maxillary first premolar was extracted and molar relationship was kept in Class II, while canines were moved to Class I relationship. The patient received implant-prosthetic rehabilitation for maxillary left lateral incisor and mandibular left second premolar. Results: At the end of treatment, Class II was corrected, midlines were matched and the canted occlusal plane was totally corrected, thereby improving smile function and esthetics.

Abstract:The transposition of teeth is an infrequent dental abnormality characterized by the exchange of position between two adjacent teeth. This report presents a unique case of transposition involving the maxillary right canine and lateral incisor in a 20-year-old female patient. Clinical assessment and radiographic evaluation revealed the unconventional positioning of the affected teeth. Treatment planning necessitated collaborative efforts between orthodontic specialists to achieve optimal esthetic and functional outcomes. The patient underwent a comprehensive treatment regimen, including orthodontic alignment by distal drifting of the canine and mesial shifting of the lateral incisor. Subsequent long-term follow-ups confirmed stable occlusion and satisfactory esthetics in a time period of 18 months. This case underscores the significance of precise diagnosis and a multidisciplinary approach in managing intricate dental anomalies such as tooth transposition.

Abstract:Objective This case report presents a female adult patient who exhibits poor oral hygiene, a mutilated dentition with multiple missing teeth, and skeletal asymmetry. Clinical Considerations Interdisciplinary treatment was necessary to maintain oral hygiene, treat caries, extract residual roots, and upright a horizontally impacted third molar using a miniplate. Additionally, orthodontic mini‐implants were utilized as anchorage to improve sagittal relationship and space closing. Space management was completed with orthodontic treatment, followed by restoration of the multiple missing teeth with dental implants. Conclusion Consequently, an esthetic smile and functional occlusion were achieved by interdisciplinary treatment using orthodontic skeletal anchorage devices and dental implants. Clinical Significance Missing mandibular first molar spaces were closed with retraction of the anterior teeth and protraction of the mandibular second molars using orthodontic mini‐implants. The mandibular right third molar, which should have erupted, was protracted with the second molar, while the horizontally impacted mandibular left third molar was uprighted using a miniplate and was protracted with an orthodontic mini‐implant. The missing maxillary lateral incisors were replaced with the maxillary canines, and the maxillary canines were replaced with the maxillary first premolars. The missing maxillary right second premolar and first molar and left first and second molars were successfully restored with dental implants.

Abstract:ABSTRACT Background: The permanent maxillary canines have significant incidence of impaction, being the most affected teeth after the third molars, while impacted maxillary insicor is the third most commonly impacted tooth. Objective: This case report is about a multidisclipinary orthodontic treatment of 12 years old female with chief complaint of unerupted anterior upper teeth. Case: A case with unerupted of permanent maxillary left central incisor tooth and permanent maxillary left canine tooth, with Angle Class 1 molar relation and crowded of mandibular teeth. Panoramic and occlusal radiograph showed impacted 21 tooth with severely root dilacerations and impacted 23 tooth in palatal and horizontal position. Case Management: The patient was treated with Edgewise technique. Surgical approach was applied 3 months after levelling and unravelling stage to extract 21 tooth due to its severely root dilaceration and to bond lingual button on palatal side of 23 tooth. Orthodontic traction of impacted 23 tooth was applied a week after being exposed to the position of 21 tooth. Thirteen months after traction, 23 tooth was totally erupted and need 8 additional months to reach its final position. The crown of 23 was reshaped with porcelain fused to metal crown and 63 tooth was left still and got conservative treatment with composite. Conclusion: Orthodontic traction and reshaping of impacted 23 tooth was succeeded to replace the position of 21 tooth with good occlusion and esthetic. Based on OPG after treatment, all teeth were in good root paralleling. The patient was satisfied with good occlusion and esthetic. Open surgical exposure of two horizontally impacted maxillary incisors combined with orthodontic treatment: A case report

Abstract:Introduction: Maxillary anterior teeth that have not erupted may substantially alter the appearance of the teeth and face. Orthodontists often encounter a clinical challenge while dealing with an impacted maxillary incisor, which creates space problems in the anterior region. The purpose of this paper is to describe the well-synchronized orthodontic and surgical treatment of a horizontally impacted maxillary central incisors. Case presentation: A male patient, aged 27, presented with a complaint of unerupted two maxillary front teeth. This resulted in the displacement of adjacent teeth into the vacant region. An intraoral examination revealed a Class II molars on both sides, a deep curve of the space with a 2.3 mm overjet, and an edge-to-edge bite of 0.1 mm. The 3D cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging unveiled a labial impacted and a rotation of approximately 90 degrees (horizontal impacted) on both central maxillary incisors. Discussion: The self-ligating bracket was installed and orthodontic traction aligned the affected tooth in the dental arch. To reach the labial surface of the impacted incisor, open surgical exposure by window excision of soft tissues with a laser was preferable due to the large bulge in the sulcus. Because self-ligating bracket systems employed modest pressures to position the maxillary right central incisor in the arch, the window surgical technique did not produce gingival scarring or increased clinical crown length. Conclusion: The impacted upper central incisor was successfully treated using a collaborative interdisciplinary (surgical-orthodontic) approach, which resulted in a favorable aesthetic and functional outcome.

Abstract:The effects of the intraamniotic instillation of hypertonic saline on serum levels of human chorionic somatomammotropin (HCS) and human cho rionic gonadotropin (HCG) were studied in 46 midtrimester abortion patie nts. Intraamniotic injection of hypertonic saline caused a continuous decrease in levels of serum HCG. 13 patients showed an increase in serum levels of HCS though HCS levels fluctuated widely as the abortion time interval increased. No definite correlation could be established between serum HCS and HCG levels and the injection-abortion interval. The results do not tend to support the theory of an endocrine participation in the termination of pregnancy by the intraamniotic injection of hypertonic saline.

Abstract:Selective catalysts can be considered as nanomachines designed to perform the synthesis of molecules with high reaction activity and high selectivity. These properties arise from a precise control of the structure of the active sites, of the three-dimensional environment and of their relationship. In both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts the active site three-dimensional environment ensemble is always a complex structure resembling the tuneable structure of enzymes, which are the most efficient catalysts optimized by nature over billions of years. To illustrate this concept the structure of a few homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts for alkenes hydrogenation and for olefin polymerization are chosen and discussed as examples.
