Abstract:Efforts to improve the oral bioavailability of cyclosporine A (CyA) remains a challenge in the field of drug delivery. In this study, glyceryl monooleate (GMO)/poloxamer 407 cubic nanoparticles were evaluated as potential vehicles to improve the oral bioavailability of CyA. Cubic nanoparticles were prepared via the fragmentation of a bulk GMO/poloxamer 407 cubic phase gel by sonication and homogenization. The cubic inner structure formed was verified using Cryo-TEM. The mean diameters of the nanoparticles were about 180 nm, and the entrapment efficiency of these particles for CyA was over 85%. The in vitro release of CyA from these nanoparticles was less than 5% at 12 h. The results of a pharmacokinetic study in beagle dogs showed improved absorption of CyA from cubic nanoparticles as compared to microemulsion-based Neoral(R); higher C-max (1371.18 +/- 37.34 vs 969.68 +/- 176.3 ng mL(-1)), higher AUC(0-t) (7757.21 +/- 1093.64 vs 4739.52 +/- 806.30 ng h mL(-1)) and AUC(0-delta) (9004.77 +/- 1090.38 vs 5462.31 +/- 930.76 ng h mL(-1)). The relative oral bioavailability of CyA cubic nanoparticles calculated on the basis of AUC(0-delta) was about 178% as compared to Neoral(R). The enhanced bioavailability of CyA is likely due to facilitated absorption by cubic nanoparticles rather than improved release.
Rate-dependent effects of sematilide on action potential duration in isolated guinea pig ventricular myocytes.

Abstract:We examined the underlying mechanism for rate-dependent effects of sematilide on action potential duration (APD) in guinea pig ventricular myocytes. Sematilide at 10 microM or higher concentrations caused prolongation of the APD without changing other electrical parameters at a stimulation rate of 0.2 Hz. Although 30 microM sematilide significantly prolonged APD by 20 to 40% at 0.2 Hz, the drug-induced prolongation became non-significant at 2.5 Hz, exhibiting a reverse use-dependent effect. Sematilide depressed the delayed outward K+ current (IK) without affecting the inward rectifier K+ current and the L-type Ca++ current. Suppression of IK by sematilide was more prominent on the tail current elicited by short pulses than on those elicited by long pulses, suggesting that its main action was on the rapidly activating component of IK. Sematilide was shown to have an affinity to the rested state of the IK channel, because the inhibition was increased with prolongation of diastolic intervals at -80 mV. Rapid-rate depolarizations induced a transient outward current that was abolished by 5 mM caffeine. This caffeine-sensitive transient outward current could contribute to the shortening of the APD at rapid pulsation, but sematilide had no effects on this current. Therefore, we conclude that sematilide principally blocked the rapidly activating component of IK with affinity for the rested state of the IK channel and did not block the slowly activating component. Also the drug did not affect the caffeine-sensitive transient outward current during rapid-rate depolarizations. All of these factors may contribute to reverse use-dependent effects on action potential prolongation by sematilide.

Abstract:Using advanced nanotechnology membranes has opened up new possibilities in the field of biomedicine, particularly for controlled drug delivery and especially for topical use. Bacterial cellulose membranes (BCM), in particular, have gained prominence owing to their distinctive attributes, including remarkable water retention, safety, biodegradability, and tunable gas exchange. However, they are aqueous matrices and, for this reason, of limited capacity for incorporation of apolar compounds. Cubosomes are lipid nanoparticles composed of a surfactant bicontinuous reverse cubic phase which, owing to their bicontinuous structure, are capable of incorporating both polar and apolar compounds. Therefore, these particles present a promising avenue for the encapsulation and release of drugs and biomolecules due to their superior entrapment efficiency. In this study, we aim to extend earlier investigations using polymeric hydrogels for cubosome immobilization, now using BCMs, a more resilient biocompatible matrix. Phytantriol cubosome-loaded BCMs were prepared by three distinct protocols: ex situ incorporation into wet BCMs, ex situ incorporation by swelling of dry BCMs and an in situ process with the growth of BCMs in a sterile medium already containing cubosomes. Our investigation revealed that these methodologies ensured that cubosomes remained integral, uniformly distributed, and thoroughly dispersed within the membrane, as confirmed using Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS) and high-resolution confocal microscopy. The effective incorporation and sustained release of diclofenac were validated across the different BCMs and compared with that of hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel in our previous studies. Furthermore, the resistance for leaching of the cubosome from both the three BCM and HA hydrogel samples was quantitatively evaluated and contrasted. We hope that the outcomes from this research will pave the way for innovative use of this platform in the incorporation and controlled release of varied active agents, amplifying the already multifaceted applicability of BCMs.

Abstract:In recent years, the development of multifunctional hydrogels has gained significant attention due to their potential in various biomedical applications, including antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anticancer therapies. By integrating biocompatible polymers and nanoparticles, these hydrogels can achieve enhanced activity and targeted therapeutic effects. In this study, carrageenan/2-dimethyl aminoethyl methacrylate/gelatin (CAR/DEMA/Gelt) composite hydrogel was synthesized using microwave radiation specifically for its efficiency in enhancing cross-linking and promoting uniform nanoparticle dispersion within the matrix. Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles were incorporated into the hydrogel to form the (CAR/DEMA/Gelt/ZnO) nanocomposite. The hydrogels were characterized using FT-IR, FE-SEM, XRD, TGA, and EDX, confirming successful cross-linking and structural integrity. The nanocomposite hydrogel exhibited more enhanced antimicrobial activity than the composite hydrogel against Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) and Bacillus subtilis (B. subtilis), with inhibition zones of 15 mm and 16 mm, respectively, while in case of the Gram-negative bacteria, Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) and Escherichia coli (E. coli), the inhibition zones were 29 mm and 19 mm, respectively. In addition to the unicellular fungi, Candida albicans (C. albicans), the inhibition zone was 19 mm. Moreover, the nanocomposite showed anti-inflammatory activity comparable to those of Indomethacin and antioxidant activity, with an impressive IC50 value of 33.3 ± 0.05 μg/mL. In vitro cytotoxicity assays revealed significant anticancer activity. Against the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line, the CAR/DEMA/Gelt/ZnO nanocomposite showed 72.5 ± 0.02% cell viability, which decreased to 30.8 ± 0.01% after loading doxorubicin (DOX). Similarly, against the HepG2 liver cancer cell line, the free nanocomposite displayed 59.9 ± 0.006% cell viability, which depleted to 29.9 ± 0.005% when DOX was uploaded. This CAR/DEMA/Gelt/ZnO nanocomposite hydrogel demonstrates strong potential as a multifunctional platform for targeted biomedical applications, particularly in cancer therapy.

Abstract:Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a fatal neurological disorder that causes cognitive and memory function to deteriorate. A critical pathogenic event that speeds up the development of AD is the interaction between dysfunctional microglia and amyloid-β (Aβ). We have developed a hybrid nanocomposite material to treat AD by normalizing the dysfunctional microglia. The material is based on carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) encapsulated fingolimod, siRNA, and zinc oxide (ZnO) with variable loading (CMC-Fi-siRNA@ZnO a – d ). The material was characterized using different techniques including FTIR, XRD, thermal analysis, SEM with EDX, and TEM micrographs. The chemical structure was confirmed by FTIR and XRD analyses, which indicated the successful integration of ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) into the polymer matrix, signifying a well-formed composite structure. The thermal stability order at 10% weight loss was CMC-Fi-siRNA@ZnO c > CMC-Fi-siRNA@ZnO b > CMC-Fi-siRNA@ZnO d > CMC-Fi-siRNA@ZnO a . The CMC-Fi-siRNA@ZnO d dramatically alleviates the priming of microglia by lowering the level of proinflammatory mediators and increasing the secretion of BDNF. This considerably improves the phagocytosis of Aβ. In the cell viability test in immortalized microglia cells (IMG), the hybrid nanocomposite (NP) exhibited no significant effect on cell survival after 48 hours of incubation. The NP also decreased the cytotoxicity caused by Aβ. Therefore, the CMC-hybrid NP has high potential as a drug delivery system in the development of therapeutic strategies for AD.

Mutational analysis of DNase I-DNA interactions: design, expression and characterization of a DNase I loop insertion mutant with altered sequence selectivity.

Abstract:A mutant of bovine pancreatic DNase I containing two additional residues in a loop next to C173 has been expressed in Escherichia coli, purified and characterized biochemically. Modelling studies suggest that the inserted arginine and glutamate side chains of the modified loop sequence C173-R-E-G-T-V176 could contact the bases 3' to the cleaved bond in the major groove of a bound DNA, and that up to 10 bp could interact with the enzyme and potentially influence its cutting rate. The loop insertion mutant has an 800-fold lower specific activity than wild-type and shows overall cleavage characteristics similar to bovine pancreatic DNase I. Compared with the wild-type enzyme, the mutant shows a strongly enhanced preference for cutting the inverted repeat: (formula: see text) or close variants thereof. Unexpectedly for a minor groove binding protein, the preferred cutting sites in opposite strands are staggered by 1 bp in the 5' direction, causing the cleavage of a TA and a TT step, respectively. This finding demonstrates that the sequence context is relatively more important for the cutting frequency than the nature of the dinucleotide step of the cleaved bond, and clearly shows that base recognition is involved in determining the sequence selectivity of the mutant. The importance of the sequence 5' to the cleaved bond for the cutting rate suggests that the additional major groove contacts may require a distortion of the DNA associated with a higher energy barrier, resulting in an increased selectivity for flexible DNA sequences and a lower overall activity of the mutant enzyme.
Formulation, Statistical Optimization, and In Vivo Pharmacodynamics of Cydonia oblonga Mucilage/Alginate Mucoadhesive Microspheres for the Delivery of Metformin HCl

Abstract:In recent years, attention has shifted toward the utilization of natural polymers for encapsulation and sustained release of health-hazardous drugs. The purpose of this work is to define and assess the sustained delivery potential and mucoadhesive potential of a Cydonia oblonga mucilage (COM) and sodium alginate (Na-Alg)-constituting polymeric delivery carrier of antidiabetic drugs with a specific end goal to retain metformin HCl in the stomach while expanding the drug's bioavailability. Metformin HCl was encapsulated in mucoadhesive microspheres by an ionic gelation method. Polymers with different combinations were tried, and the resulting mucoadhesive COM/Na-Alg microspheres were assessed for particle size (mm) PS/Y1, drug encapsulation efficiency DEE (%)/Y2, and in vitro percentage cumulative drug release R12h/Y3 using Drug Design Expert software version 10. The response surface methodology by a 32-central composite design predicted optimal synthesis parameters for the microspheres to be 295 mg for COM and 219 mg for Na-Alg. An optimized formulation was prepared under these conditions and used to evaluate the micrometric properties, morphology and structural characteristics, swelling behavior, in vitro drug release, and kinetics. Acute toxicity studies were carried out on blank COM/Na-Alg microspheres to deem them safe for in vivo studies. The DEE (%) was calculated to be 85.8 ± 1.67, whereas scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed a coarse surface with characteristic wrinkles and cracks with an optical microscopic particle size of 0.96 ± 2.45. The ex vivo tests showed great mucoadhesive properties and good swelling behavior with pH-responsive drug release and a significant reduction in in vivo blood glucose levels. The results advocated the use of optimized microspheres to enhance the bioactivity with a possible dose reduction, making it less symptomatic, reducing the expense of the treatment, and subsequently facilitating better patient compliance.
Direct synthesis of Cerium(IV)-Incorporated mesostructured cellular foam for immobilization of penicillin G acylase

Abstract:<p>Cerium-incorporated mesostructured cellular foams (Ce-MCF) as a novel support has been synthesized successfully for immobilizing penicillin G acylase (PGA) through a Lewis acid-base interaction. The PGA was firmly immobilized on Ce-MCF by interacting with the surface robust Lewis acid sites due to the incorporation of Ce, which is the essence of this immobilization method. The Ce-MCF support was synthesized through the direct hydrothermal synthesis technique with citric acid complexant and categorized by XRD, SAXS, nitrogen sorption, XPS, <span>TEM</span>, and pyridine-IR. The results showed that the Ce-MCF samples had ordered long-range structure, large pore diameter, large specific surface area, pore-volume, narrow pore diameter distribution and strong Lewis acid site. According to the results, the PGA/Ce-MCF has high enzymatic activity and improved operational stability greatly. The PGA/Ce-MCF's initial enzymatic activity remains 10,573 U/g to hydrolyze penicillin G potassium salt, similar with that of PGA/Si-MCF. In addition, the Ce-MCF samples have much higher operational stability than PGA/Si-MCF. Followed by recycling for 10 times, PGA/Ce-MCF preserves 90% of its primary enzymatic activity, which is much higher than 77% of PGA/Si-MCF.</p>

Abstract:Improving the utilization rate of loaded-drugs is of huge importance for generating chitosan-based (CS) micro-carriers. This study aims to fabricate a novel CS microspheres co-delivered curcumin (Cur) and gallic acid (Ga) to assess drug loading and release kinetics, the blood compatibility and anti-osteosarcoma properties. The present study observes the interaction between CS and Cur/Ga molecules and estimates the change in crystallinity and loading and release rate. In addition, blood compatibility and cytotoxicity of such microspheres are also evaluated. Cur-Ga-CS microspheres present high entrapment rate of (55.84 ± 0.34) % for Ga and (42.68 ± 0.11) % for Cur, possibly attributed to surface positive charge (21.76 ± 2.46) mV. Strikingly, Cur-Ga-CS microspheres exhibit slowly sustainable release for almost 7 days in physiological buffer. Importantly, these microspheres possess negligibly toxic to blood and normal BMSC cells, but strong anti-osteosarcoma effect on U2OS cells. Overall, Cur-Ga-CS microspheres are promising to become a novel anti-osteosarcoma agent or sustainable delivery carrier in biomedical applications.

Simple-by-design approach for production of stabilizer-free cubosomes from phosphatidylglycerol and docosahexaenoic acid monoacylglycerol

Abstract:Docosahexaenoic acid monoacylglycerol represents a promising lipid constituent in the development of drug nanocarriers owing to its amphiphilicity and the beneficial health effects of this docosahexaenoic acid precursor in various disorders including cancer and inflammatory diseases. Here, we describe the formation and characterization of simple-by-design and stabilizer-free lamellar and non-lamellar crystalline nanoparticles (vesicles and cubosomes, respectively) from binary mixtures of docosahexaenoic acid monoacylglycerol and phosphatidylglycerol, which is a ubiquitous amphiphilic component present in biological systems. At the physiological temperature of 37 °C, these single amphiphilic components tend to exhibit inverse hexagonal and lamellar liquid crystalline phases, respectively, on exposure to excess water. They can also be combined and dispersed in excess water by employing a high-energy emulsification method (by means of ultrasonication) to produce through an electrostatic stabilization mechanism colloidally stable nanodispersions. A colloidal transformation from vesicles to cubosomes was detected with increasing MAG-DHA content. Through use of synchrotron small-angle X-ray scattering, cryo-transmission electron microscopy, and nanoparticle tracking analysis, we report on the structural and morphological features, and size characteristics of these nanodispersions. Depending on the lipid composition, their internal liquid crystalline architectures were spanning from a lamellar (Lα) phase to biphasic features of coexisting inverse bicontinuous (Q2) cubic Pn3m and Im3m phases. Thus, a direct colloidal vesicle-cubosome transformation was detected by augmenting the concentration of docosahexaenoic acid monoacylglycerol. The produced cubosomes were thermally stable within the investigated temperature range of 5-60 °C. Collectively, our findings contribute to understanding of the imperative steps for production of stabilizer-free cubosomes from biocompatible lipids through a simple-by-design approach. We also discuss the potential therapeutic use and future implications for development of next-generation of multifunctional vesicles and cubosomes for co-delivery of docosahexaenoic acid and drugs in treatment of diseases.
Glutathione Encapsulation in Core-Shell Drug Nanocarriers (Polymersomes and Niosomes) Prevents Advanced Glycation End-products Toxicities

Abstract:The clinical application of some natural molecules in therapy is usually limited due to the lack of feasible delivery systems. Core–shell nanocarriers (polymersomes and niosomes) are interesting stable nanocarriers that are biocompatible, biodegradable, and able to produce sustainable delivery. They can be modified and functionalized according to the application needed. In this report, we describe the synthesis of a smart and pH-responsive poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(lactide) polymersome (PEO-PL) and niosomes (NIO) loaded with GSH for efficient peptide delivery and potent application against advanced glycation end-products-related damages and toxicities. PEO-PL was constructed using the one-pot sequential anionic ring-opening polymerization method, while the niosomes were prepared via the thin film layer technique. The nanocarriers were characterized for their size and morphology by DLS and SEM. The formulations demonstrated a high encapsulation rate reaching 95% and showed increased sensitivity to release their content in acidic conditions (pH 5.5) compared with physiological media. PEO-PL showed a higher retention rate compared with the NIO. The nanocarriers showed no apparent toxicity even at high concentrations (400 µg/mL). The MTT test demonstrated that HeLa cell lines were more sensitive to GSH than U87 cell lines starting from 100 and 400 µg/mL, respectively. Testing the synthesized core–shell nanocarriers on altered proteins showed prolonged and high prevention rates of glycation, aggregation, and oxidation without hindering the effect of GSH. These bioresponsive nanocarriers appear as an interesting platform for biomedicine and therapy.Graphic

Abstract:A series of monomethoxy poly(ethylene glycol)–poly(lactide) (mPEG–PLA) diblock copolymers were designed according to polymer–drug compatibility and synthesized, and mPEG–PLA micelle was fabricated and used as a nanocarrier for solubilization and oral delivery of Cyclosporine A (CyA). CyA was efficiently encapsulated into the micelles with nanoscaled diameter ranged from 60 to 96 nm with a narrow size distribution. The favorable stabilities of CyA-loaded polymeric micelles were observed in simulated gastric and intestinal fluids. The in vitro drug release investigation demonstrated that drug release was retarded by polymeric micelles. The enhanced intestinal absorption of CyA-loaded polymeric micelles, which was comparable to the commercial formulation of CyA (Sandimmun Neoral®), was found. These suggested that polymeric micelles might be an effective nanocarrier for solubilization of poorly soluble CyA and further improving oral absorption of the drug.

Thus, this work aims to formulate and evaluate SGH loaded intranasal thermoreversible cubosomal gel in order to enhance its bioavailability and ensure efficient brain targeting. Experimental design and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) were explored to optimize the formulation. Gellan gum and konjac gum were used as gelling agent and mucoadhesive agent respectively to formulate mucoadhesive in situ nasal gel. Optimized formulation of SGH loaded cubosomal dispersion exhibits average particle size (166.8 ± 3.12 nm), entrapment efficiency (72.85 ± 1.50 %), and drug release at 6 h (89.15 ± 1.04 %). In vitro drug release analysis demonstrated the sustained release pattern. In vivo pharmacokinetic studies in Swiss Albino mice showed approximately 1.90-fold increase in C max and AUC (0-t) in brain after intranasal administration. The C max and AUC for drug solution was found to be 4.3828 ± 0.02 ng/mL, 19.4166 ± 0.06 ng min/mL and for cubosomal gel it was 11.7665 ± 0.32 ng/mL, 36.9216 ± 0.41 ng min/mL respectively. Furthermore, the stability study was executed for estimation of shelf life of optimized formulation. The shelf life of SGH loaded cubosmal gel was found to be 20.64 months which demonstrate its long-term stability. The in vitro and in vivo evaluation endorsed that the fabricated cubosomal in situ nasal gel could be the promising approach for nose to brain delivery of SGH in Parkinson's therapy. Abstract:The synthesis of microbial polyhydroxyalkanoate is investigated in this work for it potential application as drug carrier for cancer therapy. The bacterial isolate Bacillus cereus FB11 has synthesized poly-(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) copolymer under nutrient stress conditions using glucose as a sole carbon source. The FTIR spectrum of the purified copolymer showed the characteristic absorption bands at 1,719, 1,260 and 2,931 cm(-1) attributing to C=O, C-O stretching and C-H vibrations, respectively. The result of (1)H-NMR confirmed that it was composed of 88 mol % of 3-hydroxybutyrate and 12 mol % of 3-hydroxyvalerate monomeric subunits. The nanoparticles were fabricated from copolymer and used as a carrier for anticancer drug ellipticine. The in vitro drug release studies showed that % inhibition of A549 cancer cell line receiving ellipticine loaded poly-(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) nanoparticles was two-fold higher in comparison to ellipticine alone. This drug delivery system offers exciting possibilities for cancer therapy by increasing the bioavailability of anti-neoplastic drug to the tumor site.
Preparation, optimisation, and properties of O-carboxymethyl chitosan-g-cholesterol succinic acid monoester polymer nanomicelles

Abstract:Polymer nanomicelles have the advantages of small particle size, improved drug solubility, retention effect and enhanced permeability, so they can be used in the treatment of tumour diseases. The aim of this study was to prepare and optimise a nanomicelle which can improve the solubility of insoluble drugs. Firstly, the carboxyl group of cholesterol succinic acid monoester was grafted with the side chain amino group of O-carboxymethyl chitosan-g-cholesterol succinic acid monoester (CCMC), and its structure was characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR). Particle size has an important impact on tissue distribution, cell uptake, permeability and inhibition of tumour tissue. In this study, particle size and polydispersity index (PDI) were selected as indexes to optimise the preparation process of CCMC nanomicelles through single factor experiment, Plackett-Burman experiment, the steepest climbing experiment and response surface design experiment. The optimised CCMC nanomicelles showed an average particle size of 173.9 ± 2.3 nm and a PDI of 0.170 ± 0.053. The Cell Counting Kit-8 assay showed no significant effect on cell viability in the range of 0-1000 μg ml-1concentration. Coumarin-6 (C6) was used as a fluorescent probe to investigate the drug-carrying ability of CCMC nanomicelles. C6-CCMC showed 86.35 ± 0.56% encapsulation efficiency with a drug loading of 9.18 ± 0.32%. Both CCMC and C6-CCMC demonstrated excellent stability in different media. Moreover, under the same conditions, the absorption effect of C6 in C6-CCMC nanomicelles was significantly higher than that of free C6 while also exhibiting good sustained-release properties. Therefore, this study demonstrates CCMC nanomicelles as a promising new drug carrier that can significantly improve insoluble drug absorption.

Abstract:β-casein is an amphiphilic protein that self-organizes into well-defined core-shell micelles. We developed these micelles as efficient nanocarriers for oral drug delivery. Our model drug is celecoxib, an anti-inflammatory hydrophobic drug utilized for treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, now also evaluated as a potent anticancer drug. This system is unique as it enables encapsulation loads >100-fold higher than other β-casein/drug formulations, and does not require additives as do other formulations that have high loadings. This is combined with the ability to lyophilize the formulation without a cryoprotectant, long-term physical and chemical stability of the resulting powder, and fully reversible reconstitution of the structures by rehydration. The dry dosage form, in which >95% of the drug is encapsulated, meets the daily dose. Cryo-TEM and DLS prove that drug encapsulation results in micelle swelling, and X-ray diffraction shows that the encapsulated drug is amorphous. Altogether, our novel dosage form is highly advantageous for oral administration.

Abstract:The biodegradation of albumin into natural products and nontoxicity besides its antigenicity has many advantages in controlled drug delivery of therapeutic agents. A bifunctional covalent bonding agent, glutaraldehyde is extensively used for linking amine groups of albümin microparticles/microcarriers (AlbMC’s). But its cytotoxicity and the rapid calcification of the glutaraldehyde-treated tissue limit the use of glutaraldehyde. Phenolic compound showed non-covalent and covalent chemical interactions with proteins. The objective of this research is to prepare three different natural phenolic compound cross-linked/stabilized AlbMC’s and estimate the cross-linker concentration which is giving narrow size distributions since it is important to gain higher surface area. The influence of qallic acid (GA), tannic acid (TA) and quercetin concentrations on AlbMC’s size was investigated by Gaussian function analysis of microcarriers determined after optical micrograph measurements. Gallic acid (GA) stabilized AlbMC’s have 3.35  0.71 μm average mean size distribution while it was 3.56  0.71 μm for Quercetin and 3.71  0.69 μm for TA stabilized microcarrier formations. Average mean particle size distribution of AlbMC’s synthesized with synthetic cross-linker, glutaraldehyde was calculated as 5.12  0.50 μm. All statistical analysis were evaluated by MATLAB program. New approach for albumin microcarrier synthesis by using phenolic compounds as a cross-linker can be proposed as an alternative microcarrier preparation system with narrow size distributions.
