Abstract:The epidemic of obesity is a serious public health problem. In this study, the effect of theabrownin from dark tea on obesity was evaluated by biochemical tests and nuclear magnetic resonance in C57BL/6J mice fed a high-fat diet. A mixture of antibiotics was used to deplete gut microbiota and then fecal microbiota transplant was used to restore gut microbiota. Untargeted metabolomics was used to reveal the effects of theabrownin on metabolic profiles through gut microbiota. The results showed that theabrownin significantly reduced body weight gain (83.0%) and body fat accumulation (30.29%) without affecting appetite. Also, theabrownin promoted lipid clearance with a hepatoprotective effect. The extra antibiotics disrupted the regulation of theabrownin on weight control while fecal microbiota transplant restored the beneficial regulation. That is, gut microbiota was important for theabrownin to reduce body weight gain. The untargeted metabolomics indicated that 18 metabolites were related to the anti-obesity effect of theabrownin mediated by gut microbiota. Furthermore, phenylalanine metabolism, histidine metabolism, as well as protein digestion and absorption pathway played a role in the anti-obesity of theabrownin. Our findings suggested that theabrownin significantly alleviated obesity via gut microbiota-related metabolic pathways, and theabrownin could be used for the prevention and treatment of obesity.

Abstract:Background: Theabrownin (TB), a high macromolecular compound and a characteristic component of Pu-erh tea, is able to markedly regulate blood lipid and glucose metabolism. We hypothesized that TB could ameliorate metabolic syndrome induced by high-fat, high-sugar and high-salt diet (HFSSD). Results: To test these hypotheses, we fed rats with HFSSD and administered a gavage of TB. HFSSD successfully induced metabolic syndrome in rats. TB significantly improved serum lipid status, prevented obesity and fasting blood glucose (FBG) and glycosylated hemoglobin (GHbAIc) in rats. After TB intervention, Firmicutes/Bacteroides (F/B) ratio was greatly reduced and showed a dose-effect relationship. TB promoted the reproduction of Bacteroidetes such as prevotella_sp._CAG:1031, prevotella_sp._MGM2 and Bacteroides_sartorii, and inhibited the reproduction of Firmicutes such as roseburia_sp._1XD42-69 and roseburia_sp._831b. Conclusion: In HFSSD mode, prevotella_sp._CAG:1031 was one of the main dominant characteristic bacteria of TB targeting regulation, while roseburia_sp._1XD42-69 mainly inhibitory intestinal bacteria, which help to reduce body weight, TG and blood sugar levels of HFSSD rats. Glycerophospholipid metabolism, arachidonic acid metabolism, glycolysis/gluconeogenesis and insulin resistance were the critical pathway. TB has a high application potential in reducing the risk of metabolic diseases. © 2022 Society of Chemical Industry.

Abstract:Liubao tea, a traditional dark tea, has gained widespread recognition for various health benefits. In this study, the effects of Liubao tea extract (LTE) on obesity-related hyperlipidemia and the potential mechanism involved were explored. Anti-obesity compounds such as tricetin, isovitexin, tiliroside, etc. in LTE were identified. In high-fat diet mouse models, LTE effectively reduced tissues, organs, and body weight growth, and restored abnormal serum lipid levels. LTE could reverse adipocyte enlargement, lipid accumulation, and hepatic microstructure abnormalities. Notably, LTE reshaped gut microbiota by boosting beneficial bacteria (e.g., Bacteroides, Akkermansia, Psychrobacter) and suppressing harmful bacteria (e.g., Dubosiella, Faecalibaculum). Spearman correlation analysis unveiled significant associations between serum lipid levels, weight gain, LTE dosage, and gut microbiota, underlining the modulatory effects of LTE on metabolic disorders via the regulation of intestinal microbiota. Collectively, LTE could serve as a potential therapy for obesity-related hyperlipidemia prevention.
Theabrownin from Wuniuzao Dark Tea Regulates Hepatic Lipid Metabolism and Gut Microbiota in Mice Fed High-Fat Diet

Abstract:The search for functional foods with no side effects that can alleviate obesity has been a common trend. Wuniuzao dark tea could be a safe choice. This study aimed to explore whether theabrownin from Wuniuzao dark tea could regulate hepatic lipid metabolism and gut microbiota in mice fed a high-fat diet. In total, fifty 8-week-old male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into five treatment groups, including a normal control group, high-fat diet group, positive control group, low-dose theabrownin group, and high-dose theabrownin group. After a 9-week intervention, these mice were selected from each treatment group for sampling. The results showed that the body weight and epididymis fat weight of obese mice fed with theabrownin were decreased. Serum total triglycerides, total cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and activities of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase were also decreased. Protein and mRNA expression of fatty acid synthesis and lipid production-related genes of mice fed with theabrownin were downregulated. The gut microbiota composition in the theabrownin group was improved. The study indicated that theabrownin from Wuniuzao dark tea could achieve the liver protection and anti-obesity effects by regulating the Srebp lipid metabolism pathway and bile acid metabolism process, and improving the gut microbiota composition of mice.

Effect of Pu-erh Tea on Long Chain Fatty Acid Metabolism and Expression of Tight Junction Proteins in the Rat Model of Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease

Abstract:In this study, the influence of Pu-erh tea on the absorption of long chain fatty acids in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) rats was analyzed. Moreover, the possible interventional mechanism was also discussed. Thirty-six SD rats were randomly divided into three groups, normal group (NG), NAFLD group, and Pu-erh tea group (PTG), 12 rats for each group. All rats were killed after 8 weeks. Rat weight, liver index, serum lipid level, intestinal lipid absorption protein (CD36), tight junction proteins (Occludin, ZO-1), and TNF-α mRNA were measured. Compared with NAFLD group, rat weight and serum LDL-C in PTG were decreased by 16.12% and 42.59%, respectively. In addition, the expressions of CD36 and TNF-α mRNA in PTG were decreased, while occludin and ZO-1 mRNA expressions were increased. Our results suggest that Pu-erh tea can regulate the intestinal absorption of long chain fatty acids and the tight junction proteins in rats, and it is especially effective in prophylaxis against ‘the first attack’ in the early stage of NAFLD.

Abstract:The experiments on male albino rats have shown that both stress and hydrocortisone elevate the urinary excretion of hydrogen ions in the form of titrated acids and ammonium ions. Desoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCSA) in intact rats, adrenal- and hypophysectomy lower ammonium ions excretion. Both stress and DOCSA increase the tubular sodium reabsorption, while hydrocortisone, adrenal- and hypophysectomy decrease it. A conclusion is made that both glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids participate in the renal functional change under stress. It should be underlined that glucocorticoids stimulate the secretion while mineralocorticoids play the leading part in maintenance of sodium homeostasis.

Abstract:Fu Brick tea belongs to fermented dark tea, which is one of the six categories of tea. Fu Brick tea has been reported to reduce adiposity and has beneficial effects for hypercholesterolemia and cardiovascular disease. Theabrownin (TB) is one of the pigments with the most abundant content in Fu Brick tea. TB has also been reported to have lipid-lowering effects, but its mechanism remains unclear. We found that TB could effectively reduce the insulin resistance and fat deposition induced by high fat diet (HFD), decrease inflammation in liver, improve intestinal integrity, and reduce endotoxin in circulation. Further studies showed that TB increased the abundance of Verrucomicrobiota and reduced the abundance of Firmicutes and Desulfobacterota in the intestinal tract of obese mice. The alteration of gut microbiota is closely linked with the metabolic phenotype after TB treatment through correlation analysis. Moreover, TB changed the gut microbial metabolites including L-ornithine, α-ketoglutarate, and glutamine, which also been found to be upregulated in liver after TB intervention. In vitro, L-ornithine, α-ketoglutarate, or glutamine significantly reduced lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammation in macrophage. Therefore, our results suggest that TB can reduce adiposity, systemic insulin resistance, and liver inflammation induced by HFD through altering gut microbiota and improving intestinal tight junction integrity. Microbial metabolites might also play a role in ameliorating the HFD-induced phenotype by TB.

Abstract:Purpose Pu-erh tea can be classified into raw pu-erh tea and ripened pu-erh tea. Theabrownin (TB) is one of the major components of pu-erh tea. The difference of the anti-obesity activity between raw pu-erh tea TB (R-TB) and ripened pu-erh tea TB (F-TB) has not been comprehensively investigated yet. Therefore, this article aimed to systemically study the anti-obesity activity and the underlying mechanism of R-TB and F-TB. Method High-fat diet (HFD)-induced C57BL/6J mice with obesity were gavaged with R-TB or F-TB to assess the effect of R-TB and F-TB on the amelioration of obesity, the expression of lipid metabolism-related genes, and the regulation of gut flora imbalance. Results Administration of both R-TB and F-TB could suppress body weight gain, improve insulin sensitivity and glucose homeostasis, regulate the lipid level and reduce the chronic inflammation in obese mice. The underlying anti-obesity mechanism of R-TB and F-TB might involve the regulation of lipogenesis and lipolysis, amelioration of the gut microbiota disorder and promotion of microbial metabolism. Interestingly, R-TB was more efficient in the regulation of blood glucose, reduction of inflammation and suppression of partial adipogenesis-related genes and protein, while F-TB was more effective in the inhibition of lipolysis-related genes and protein. In addition, F-TB might be more effective in adjusting the dysbacteria caused by HFD back to normal by promoting the proliferation of the beneficial microbiota, such as Lactobacillus and Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group . Conclusion Taken together, both R-TB and F-TB had the potential to be developed as beneficial dietary supplements or functional foods for ameliorating obesity and obesity-related metabolic disorders, but their effects and the ability to regulate the intestinal flora varied.

Abstract:Theabrownin (TB), the primary pigment in Pu-erh tea, has shown potential in alleviating metabolic syndrome (MS), though its precise mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigated the effects of Pu-erh tea water extract (WE) and TB on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced MS in rats, focusing on miRNA regulation and gut microbiota composition. Both WE and TB significantly improved markers of MS, including dyslipidemia, insulin resistance, and inflammation. These improvements were linked to the normalization of specific miRNAs (miR-125b-5p, miR-223-3p_R + 2, miR-148b-3p, and miR-1247-5p), which activated the PI3K/AKT/FOXO signaling pathway, subsequently modulating key genes involved in glucolipid metabolism (SREBP-1C, PEPCK, PGC-1α, and G6pc). Additionally, WE and TB restored gut microbiota balance by decreasing the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio and increasing beneficial bacteria such as Bacteroides , Lactobacillus , and Bifidobacterium , while reducing harmful bacteria like Pseudomonas . These findings underscore the potential of theabrownin as a functional food component for MS prevention, offering new insights into its miRNA-mediated and microbiota-related mechanisms.

Abstract:Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) has emerged as a leading public health challenge and is closely associated with metabolic syndromes, such as obesity. Intestinal microbiota dysbiosis could play a vital role in the pathogenesis and progression of NAFLD. Tea is the second most popular health drink in the world behind water, and exhibits many health-promoting effects. In this study, the protective effects of different black and dark teas on NAFLD induced by long-term high-fat diet (HFD) exposure and their regulation of gut microbiota were evaluated and explored. The results indicated that supplementation with different black and dark tea extracts could significantly suppress the energy intake, alleviate abnormal accumulation of visceral fat, and prevent obesity, hepatic abnormal lipid deposition and liver steatosis in HFD-fed mice at varying degrees. In addition, Dianhong tea and Liupao tea interventions could significantly decrease the ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidetes, and selenium-enriched black tea and selenium-enriched dark rea supplementation could remarkably reduce the relative abundance of Actinobacteria compared to the model group. Moreover, these teas could partly shift the relative abundances of Allobaculum, Roseburia and Dubosiella. Taken together, black teas and dark teas could prevent HFD-induced features of obesity and NAFLD, which might partly be due to the modulation of gut microbiota.

Abstract:Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is prevalent worldwide, while no pharmaceutical treatment has been approved. Natural herbs are promising for their amelioration effect on lipid metabolism. Theabrownin (TB) and Poria cocos polysaccharide (PCP) have been reported to have effect on hyperlipidemia and diabetes. Here, we compared the effect of individual TB or PCP and the combination of TB and PCP (TB + PCP) on NAFLD phenotypes and the alteration of metabolism in the mice with high-fat diet. The results showed that TB, PCP, and TB + PCP reduced serum and hepatic lipid levels, among which TB + PCP was the most effective. Serum metabolomic profile and liver mRNA analyses revealed that the treatments altered metabolic pathways involved in fatty acid metabolism, bile acid metabolism, and tricarboxylic acid cycle, which was also most significant in the TB + PCP group. This study demonstrated that TB, PCP, especially the combination of TB and PCP could be potential therapeutic formula for NAFLD that promoted lipid utilization and inhibited lipid synthesis and absorption.

Abstract:Dark tea has great potential in regulating glycolipid metabolism, and theabrownin (TB) is considered to be the characteristic and bioactive constituent of dark tea. This study evaluated the ability of TB1 (fermented for 7 days) and TB2 (fermented for 14 days) isolated from dark tea to reverse insulin resistance (IR) in HepG2 cells. The results indicated that TB significantly ameliorated oxidative stress by improving mitochondrial function. In addition, TB improved glycogen synthesis and glucose consumption, and inhibited gluconeogenesis and fatty acid synthesis, by regulating GSK3β (Glycogen synthase kinase 3β), G6Pase (Glucose-6-phosphatase), GCK (Glucokinase), PEPCK1 (Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxy kinase 1), SREBP-1C (sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1C), FASN (fatty acid synthase), and ACC (Acetyl-CoA carboxylase). Additionally, the results of Western blot and real-time PCR experiments demonstrated that TB modulated glucolipid metabolism through the IRS-1 (Insulin receptor substrate 1)/PI3K (phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase)/Akt (protein kinase B) signaling pathway. Treatment with the PI3K inhibitor demonstrated a favorable correlation between PI3K activation and TB action on glycolipid metabolism. Notably, we observed that TB2 had a greater effect on improving insulin resistance compared with TB1, which, due to its prolonged fermentation time, increased the degree of oxidative polymerization of TB.

Abstract:Introduction: Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), also known as metabolic steatohepatitis, is a clinical syndrome with pathological changes like alcoholic hepatitis but without a history of excessive alcohol consumption. NASH is closely related to metabolic disorders such as obesity, insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and hyperlipidemia. Its main characteristics are hepatocyte steatosis with hepatocyte injury and inflammation. In severe cases, it can develop into liver cirrhosis. At present, there is no special treatment for NASH. Theabrownin (TB) is the main pigment substance in fermented tea. Theabrownin has beneficial effects on lipid metabolism and intestinal flora. However, the effect of theabrownin on NASH has not been studied. Methods: This study was aimed at exploring the effects of theabrownin from Fuzhuan brick tea on NASH. 8-week-old mice were randomly assigned to three groups and fed with chow diet (CD), methionine and choline sufficient (MCS) diet (MCS Ctrl), which is a Methionine/choline deficient (MCD) control diet, and MCD diet. After 5 weeks of feeding, the MCD group mice were randomly divided into two groups and were gavaged with double distilled water (MCD Ctrl) or theabrownin (MCD TB) (200mg/kg body weight, dissolved in double distilled water) every day for another 4 weeks respectively, while continuing MCD diet feeding. Results: We found that theabrownin treatment could not improve liver mass loss and steatosis. However, theabrownin ameliorated liver injury and decreased liver inflammatory response. Theabrownin also alleviated liver oxidative stress and fibrosis. Furthermore, our results showed that theabrownin increased hepatic level of fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) and reduced the phosphorylation of mitogen-activated protein kinase p38 in MCD diet-fed mice.
Theabrownin from Pu-erh tea together with swinging exercise synergistically ameliorates obesity and insulin resistance in rats

Abstract:Purpose: Theabrownin (TB)-containing Pu-erh tea has been shown to be hypolipidemic in rats fed a high-fat diet. Physical exercise such as swinging is also known to reduce obesity. We hypothesized that TB in combination with swinging can synergistically ameliorate obesity and insulin resistance in rats with metabolic syndrome. Methods: TB, rosiglitazone, or lovastatin (controls) was administered by gavage to rats fed a diet high in fat, sugar, and salt. A subgroup of the rats was subjected to a 30-min daily swinging exercise regimen, whereas the other rats did not exercise. Results: Theabrownin in combination with swinging was found to significantly improve serum lipid status and prevent development of obesity and insulin resistance in rats. Liver transcriptomics data suggested that theabrownin activated circadian rhythm, protein kinase A, the adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase, and insulin signaling pathways by enhancing cyclic adenosine monophosphate levels and, hence, accelerating nutrient metabolism and the consumption of sugar and fat. The serum dopamine levels in rats increased significantly after exercise. In parallel work, intraperitoneal dopamine injections were shown to significantly reduce weight gain and prevent the elevation in triglyceride levels that would otherwise be induced by the high fat-sugar-salt diet. Theabrownin prevented obesity and insulin resistance mainly by affecting the circadian rhythm, while swinging exercise stimulated the overproduction of dopamine to accelerate metabolism of glucose and lipid. Conclusions: Theabrownin and exercise synergistically ameliorated metabolic syndrome in rats and effectively prevented obesity.

Abstract:Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common and fatal cancers worldwide, yet therapeutic options for CRC often exhibit strong side effects which cause patients' well-being to deteriorate. Theabrownin (TB), an antioxidant from Pu-erh tea, has previously been reported to have antitumor effects on non-small-cell lung cancer, osteosarcoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, gliomas, and melanoma. However, the potential antitumor effect of TB on CRC has not previously been investigated in vivo. The present study therefore aimed to investigate the antitumor effect of TB on CRC and the underlying mechanisms. Azoxymethane (AOM)/dextran sodium sulphate (DSS) was used to establish CRC tumorigenesis in a wild type mice model. TB was found to significantly reduce the total tumor count and improve crypt length and fibrosis of the colon when compared to the AOM/DSS group. Immunohistochemistry staining shows that the expression of the proliferation marker, Ki67 was reduced, while cleaved caspase 3 was increased in the TB group. Furthermore, TB significantly reduced phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), protein kinase B (Akt), and the downstream mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR)and cyclin D1 protein expression, which might contribute to cell proliferation suppression and apoptosis enhancement. The 16s rRNA sequencing revealed that TB significantly modulated the gut microbiota composition in AOM/DSS mice. TB increased the abundance of short chain fatty acid as well as SCFA-producing Prevotellaceae and Alloprevotella, and it decreased CRC-related Bacteroidceae and Bacteroides. Taken together, our results suggest that TB could inhibit tumor formation and potentially be a promising candidate for CRC treatment.

Theabrownin from Pu-erh Tea Improves DSS-Induced Colitis via Restoring Gut Homeostasis and Inhibiting TLR2&4 Signaling Pathway

Abstract:Background: Theabrownin (TB) is a dark brown pigment from Pu-erh tea or other dark teas. It is formed by further oxidization of theaflavins and thearubigins, in combination with proteins, polysaccharides, and caffeine etc. TB is a characteristic ingredient and bioactive substance of Pu-erh tea. However, the effects of TB on ulcerative colitis (UC) remains unclear. Purpose: This study aims to elucidate the mechanism of TB on UC in terms of recovery of intestinal homeostasis and regulation of toll-like receptor (TLR) 2&4 signaling pathway. Methods: The colitis models were established by administering 5% dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) to C57BL/6 mice for 5 days to evaluate the therapeutic and preventive effects of TB on UC. Mesalazine was used as a positive control. H&E staining, complete blood count, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and 16S rRNA sequencing were employed to assess histological changes, blood cells analysis, content of cytokines, expression and distribution of mucin (MUC)2 and TLR2&4, differentiation of CD4+T cells in lamina propria, and changes in intestinal microbiota, respectively. Western blot was utilized to study the relative expression of tight junction proteins and the key proteins in TLR2&4-mediated MyD88-dependent MAPK, NF-κB, and AKT signaling pathways. Results: TB outstanding alleviated colitis, inhibited the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, reduced white blood cells while increasing red blood cells, hemoglobin, and platelets. TB increased the expression of occludin, claudin-1 and MUC2, effectively restored intestinal barrier function. TB also suppressed differentiation of Th1 and Th17 cells in the colon's lamina propria, increased the fraction of Treg cells, and promoted the balance of Treg/Th17 to tilt towards Tregs. Moreover, TB increased the Firmicutes to Bacteroides (F/B) ratio, as well as the abundance of Akkermansia, Muribaculaceae, and Eubacterium_coprostanoligenes_group at the genus level. In addition, TB inhibited the activation of TLR2&4-mediated MAPK, NF-κB, and AKT signaling pathways in intestinal epithelial cells of DSS-induced mice. Conclusion: TB acts in restoring intestinal homeostasis and anti-inflammatory in DSS-induced UC, and exhibiting a preventive effect after long-term use. In a word, TB is a promising beverage, health product and food additive for UC.

Abstract:Semiconductor nanocrystals have been synthesized that support intrinsic dual emission from the excitonic core as well as the surface. By virtue of chemical control of the thermodynamics of the core/surface equilibria, these nanocrystals support ratiometric temperature sensing over a broad temperature scale. This surface-chemistry-based approach for creating intrinsic dual emission enables a completely new strategy for application of these nanocrystals in optical nanothermometry.
Terminalia bellirica ethanol extract ameliorates nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in mice by amending the intestinal microbiota and faecal metabolites

Abstract:Ethnopharmacological relevance Terminalia bellirica (Gaertn.) Roxb. (TB) is a traditional Tibetan medicine used to treat hepatobiliary diseases. However, modern pharmacological evidence of the activities and potential mechanisms of TB against nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) are still unknown. Aim of the study This study aimed to evaluate the anti-NAFLD effect of ethanol extract of TB (ETB) and investigate whether its ameliorative effects are associated with the regulation of intestinal microecology. Materials and methods In this study, the curative effects of ETB on NAFLD were evaluated in mice fed a choline-deficient, L-amino acid defined, high fat diet (CDAHFD). Biochemical markers and hepatic histological alterations were detected. Gut microbiota and faecal metabolites were analyzed by 16S rRNA gene sequencing and liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer (LC‒MS) profiling. Results The results showed that oral treatment with middle- and high-dose ETB significantly improved features of NAFLD, reducing the levels of TG, LDL-C, ALT and AST, and increasing the level of HDL-C. Liver histopathologic examination demonstrated that ETB attenuated lipid accumulation and hepatocellular necrosis. ETB treatment restored the structural disturbances of gut microbiota induced by CDAHFD, reduced the levels of Intestinimonas , Lachnoclostridium , and Lachnospirace-ae_FCS020_group , and increased Akkermansia and Bifidobacterium . Moreover, untargeted metabolomics analysis revealed that ETB could restore the disrupted taurine and hypotaurine metabolism, glycine, serine and threonine metabolism, and glutathione metabolism of the intestinal bacterial community in NAFLD mice. Conclusions ETB was effective in ameliorating the NAFLD, possibly by remodelling the gut microbiota composition and modulating the faecal metabolism metabolites of the host, highlighting the potential of TB as a resource for the development of anti-NAFLD drugs.

Abstract:This study prepared enzymatic theabrownins (TBs-e), alkaline theabrownins (TBs-a), and Pu-erh tea theabrownins (TBs-f), and investigated whether different preparation processes affected the structures, nonvolatile metabolites, and biofunctional activities of TBs. Structural characterization revealed that TBs were polymeric phenolic compounds rich in hydroxyl and carboxyl groups. Nontargeted metabolomics revealed that amino acids were the primary nonvolatile metabolites in TBs-e and TBs-a, accounting for over 70 % of the total nonvolatile content. TBs-f contained more polyphenols, caffeine, and flavonoids, accounting for 14.2 %, 3.9 %, and 0.8 % of total nonvolatile content, respectively. In vivo, at 560 mg/kg body weight, TBs-f were associated with regulation of blood glucose and lipid concentrations in mice. Moreover, 16S rRNA indicated that at 1120 mg/kg body weight, TBs-a were associated with increased numbers of microbiota linked with hypolipidemic activity. This study explores the impacts of different preparation processes on TBs and provides a theoretical foundation for the understanding of TBs.
