Abstract:Integrins are important adhesion receptors for leukocytes binding to endothelial cellular adhesion molecules. Previous studies have suggested that blocking relevant integrins might prevent leukocyte infiltration and suppress clinical and pathological features of neuroinflammatory disease. Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a rodent model of Multiple sclerosis (MS), is characterized by chronic inflammatory disorder of the central nervous system in which circulating leukocytes enter the brain and spinal cord leading to inflammation, myelin damage and subsequent paralysis. To prove this hypothesis and explore a promising application for MS treatment, the effects of C16, an ανβ3 integrin-binding peptide, were tested in vitro and in vivo by transendothelial assay, electron microscopy observation, multiple histological and immunohistochemical staining. The results showed C16 inhibited transendothelial migration of the C8166-CD4 lymphoblast cells, and alleviated extensive spinal cord and brain infiltration of leukocytes and macrophages in the EAE model. Furthermore, a significant amelioration of astrogliosis and a dramatic decrease in demyelination and axonal loss were observed in C16 treated animals. The attenuating inflammatory progression may improve the regional environment and trigger further neuroprotective effects on myelin and axons, all this suggests that C16 peptide may be a promising therapeutic agent for multiple sclerosis.
Therapeutic Effect of Ginsenoside Rd on Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis Model Mice: Regulation of Inflammation and Treg/Th17 Cell Balance

Abstract:Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune inflammatory disease. Inflammatory infiltrates and demyelination of the CNS are the major characteristics of MS and its related animal model-experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). Immoderate autoimmune responses of Th17 cells and dysfunction of Treg cells critically contribute to the pathogenesis of MS and EAE. Our previous study showed that Ginsenoside Rd effectively ameliorated the clinical severity in EAE mice, but the mechanism remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the therapeutic effect of Ginsenoside Rd on EAE in vivo and in vitro and also explored the potential mechanisms for alleviating the injury of EAE. The results indicated that Ginsenoside Rd was effective for the treatment of EAE in mice and splenocytes. Ginsenoside Rd treatment on EAE mice ameliorated the severity of EAE and attenuated the characteristic signs of disease. Ginsenoside Rd displayed the therapeutic function to EAE by modulating inflammation and autoimmunity, via the downregulation of related proinflammatory cytokines IL-6 and IL-17, upregulation of inhibitory cytokines TGF-β and IL-10, and modulation of Treg/Th17 imbalance. And the Foxp3/RORγt/JAK2/STAT3 signaling was found to be associated with this protective function. In addition, analysis of gut microbiota showed that Ginsenoside Rd also had modulation potential on gut microbiota in EAE mice. Based on this study, we hypothesize that Ginsenoside Rd could be a potential and promising agent for the treatment of MS.

Abstract:Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a common disabling autoimmune disease without an effective treatment in young adults. Ginsenoside Rd, extracted from Panax notogin-seng, has multiple pharmacological effects and potential therapeutic applications in diseases of the central nervous system. In this study, we explore the efficacy of ginsenoside Rd in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), an established model of MS. EAE was induced by myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein 35-55-amino-acid peptide. Ginsenoside Rd (10-80 mg/kg/day) or vehicle was intraperitoneally administered on the disease onset day, and the therapy persisted throughout the experiments. The dose of 40 mg/kg/day of ginsenoside Rd was selected as optimal. Ginsenoside Rd effectively ameliorated the clinical severity in EAE mice, reduced the permeability of the blood-brain barrier, regulated the secretion of interferon-gamma and interleukin-4, promoted the Th2 shift in vivo (cerebral cortex) and in vitro (splenocytes culture supernatants), and prevented the reduction in expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and nerve growth factor in both cerebral cortex and lumbar spinal cord of EAE mice. This study establishes the potency of ginsenoside Rd in inhibiting the clinical course of EAE. These findings suggest that ginsenoside Rd could be a promising agent for amelioration of neuroimmune dysfunction diseases such as MS. (C) 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
Berberine Attenuates Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis in C57 Bl/6 Mice

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Berberine, an isoquinoline derivative alkaloid, has a wide range of pharmacological properties and is considered to have anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective effects. However, there are no reports about the effects and mechanisms of berberine in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), an established model of multiple sclerosis (MS). METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS: Female C57 BL/6 mice immunized with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein 35-55 amino acid peptide were treated with berberine at the day of disease onset and medication was administered daily until mice were sacrificed. Blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability and the alteration of matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2, 72 kDa) and matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9, 92 kDa) in the brain and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of EAE mice were detected by quantitative measurement for Evan's blue (EB) content, Western blot and gelatin zymography respectively. The results showed that berberine attenuated clinical and pathological parameters of EAE, reduced the permeability of BBB, inhibited the activity and expression of MMP-9 but not MMP-2 in the CSF and brain of EAE mice. CONCLUSIONS/SIGNIFICANCE: These findings suggest that berberine is effective to attenuate the clinical severity of EAE in C57 BL/6 mice by reducing the permeability of BBB, decreasing the expression and activity of MMP-9, and decreasing the inflammatory infiltration. We think that berberine might be a potential therapeutic agent for MS.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE In order to investigate whether cornel iridoid glycoside(CIG),the main component extracted from Cornus officinalis,can treat demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system(CNS)such as multiple sclerosis(MS).METHODS CIG(30,60 and 120mg·kg-1)or vehicle was intragastrically administered once daily to rats,starting immediately after purified myelin basic protein(MBP)68-86 peptides immunization until day 20 post immunization(p.i.).Histopathological staining,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,biochemical methods and Western blotting approaches were used to evaluate the disease incidence and severity,neuroinflammatory and neurotrophic response in the CNS.RESULTS Neurological deficit and proportion of incidence seen in EAE rats were significantly reduced by CIG treatment in a dose-dependent manner.Histopathological staining showed that CIG treatment alleviated demyelination and inflammatory infiltration,increased the number of oligodendrocytes,enhanced the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF).Production of proinflammatory molecules such as interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumour necrosis factor-αand interferon-γwere also inhibited by CIG administration.CIG could ameliorate phosphorylation of STAT1,STAT3 and JAK1 as well as IL-6/IL-6 Rexpression,which involved in immune response and inflammation.CONCLUSION Our results demonstrated that CIG may ameliorate EAE rats through down-regulation of JAK/STAT signaling pathway.This study gave new insight into the novel regulatory mechanism of CIG and highlight novel therapeutic targets and a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of MS.
The Anti-inflammatory Effect of Ginger Extract on the Animal Model of Multiple Sclerosis

Abstract:Background: Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), as an autoimmune disease in the central nervous system (CNS), is an animal model for multiple sclerosis (MS) mediated by T lymphocytes. Objective: To investigate ginger extract's effect on reducing inflammation and improving the symptoms in the EAE model. Methods: The EAE was induced by injecting MOG35-55 and pertussis toxin into eight-week-old female C57BL6 mice. The mice were treated with an intraperitoneal injection of 300 mg/kg/day of hydroalcoholic extract of ginger for 21 days. The disease severity and weight changes were measured daily. Then, the mice spleens were removed; the gene expressions of interleukin (IL)-17, transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β), interferon-γ (IFN-γ), and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α) were analyzed by Real-time PCR and the percentage of regulatory T lymphocytes (Treg cells) was determined by flow cytometry. Serum nitric oxide and antioxidant capacity were measured, and brain tissue sections were prepared to investigate the leukocyte infiltration and plaque formation. Results: The severity of symptoms in the intervention group was lower than in the control. The gene expression levels of inflammatory cytokines, including IL-17 (P=0.04) and IFN-γ (P=0.01), were reduced. The Treg cells increased significantly, and the serum nitric oxide level was lower in the ginger-treated group. There was no significant difference in lymphocyte infiltration in the brain between the two groups. Conclusion: The present study indicated that ginger extract could effectively reduce inflammatory mediators and modulate immune responses in EAE.
Radix Rehmanniae Extract Ameliorates Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis by Suppressing Macrophage-Derived Nitrative Damage

Abstract:Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neuroinflammatory disease in central nervous system (CNS) without effective treatment or medication yet. With high prevalence of MS patients worldwide and poor therapeutic outcome, seeking novel therapeutic strategy for MS is timely important. Radix Rehmanniae (RR), a typical Chinese Medicinal herb, has been used for neuroinflammatory diseases in Traditional Chinese Medicine for centuries. However, scientific evidence and underlying mechanisms of RR for MS are unclear. In this study, we tested the hypothesis that RR could attenuate the progress and severity of MS via suppressing macrophage-derived nitrative damage and inflammation by using experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) model for mimicking MS pathology. The results showed the RR treatment effectively ameliorated clinical disease severity, inhibited inflammation/demyelination in spinal cord, and alleviated CNS infiltration of encephalitogenic T cells and activated macrophages. Meanwhile, RR possessed bioactivities of scavenging ONOO- and reducing the expression of iNOS and NADPH oxidases in the spinal cords of the EAE mice. Furthermore, RR treatment suppressed nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway in the splenocytes of EAE mice. The in vitro experiments on macrophages and neuronal cells exerted consistent results with the in vivo animal experiments. Taken together, we conclude that Radix Rehmanniae extract has therapeutic values for ameliorating EAE/MS pathological process and disease severity and its underlying mechanisms are associated with anti-inflammation and inhibiting macrophage-derived nitrative damages. Further study could yield novel promising therapeutic agent for multiple sclerosis.

Abstract:The present study was designed to investigate the beneficial effects of cornel iridoid glycoside (CIG), a main component extract from Cornus officinalis, on neurotrophin expression in mouse experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a classical model of multiple sclerosis (MS). After EAE initiation, CIG was intragastrically administered daily for 32 days and reduced disease severity. Histopathological staining and western blotting both showed that CIG could prevent brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and nerve growth factor (NGF) loss in the spinal cord of EAE mice. In conclusion, our findings indicated that CIG treatment suppressed disease severity of EAE partially through blocking downregulation of neurotrophic factor expression such as BDNF and NGF, suggesting that CIG may have beneficial effects for the treatment of demyelinating diseases such as MS.

Abstract:Categorization is a process that spans all of development, beginning in earliest infancy yet changing as children's knowledge and cognitive skills develop. In this review article, we address three core issues regarding childhood categorization. First, we discuss the extent to which early categories are rooted in perceptual similarity versus knowledge-enriched theories. We argue for a composite perspective in which categories are steeped in commonsense theories from a young age but also are informed by low-level similarity and associative learning cues. Second, we examine the role of language in early categorization. We review evidence to suggest that language is a powerful means of expressing, communicating, shaping, and supporting category knowledge. Finally, we consider categories in context. We discuss sources of variability and flexibility in children's categories, as well as the ways in which children's categories are used within larger knowledge systems (e.g., to form analogies, make inferences, or construct theories). Categorization is a process that is intrinsically tied to nearly all aspects of cognition, and its study provides insight into cognitive development, broadly construed. Abstract:Confocal microscopy, in association with three‐dimensional reconstruction, revealed that microtubules and microfilaments in differentiating PC‐12 cells were disrupted in a dose‐dependent manner following pressure treatment. Hydrostatic pressure caused cell rounding, microtubule and microfilament disorganization, neurite retraction and the formation of a microtubule ring adjacent to the cell surface. Volume analysis from computer‐generated reconstructed cells, at atmospheric pressure, showed that the apparent volume of microtubules and microfilaments, normalized to 100 units, was 22 and 11 respectively. At 4000 and 8000psi, the apparent microtubule volume was reduced to 16 and 12 units, respectively, and the apparent microfilament volume was reduced to 8 and 5 units, respectively. Thus, the apparent microtubule and microfilament volumes in PC‐12 cells decreased as pressure increased. In the presence of taxol and phalloidin which stabilize the cytoarchitecture, cells resist the effects of hydrostatic pressure. In the presence of colchicine and cytochalasin D compounds which destabilize the cytoarchitecture, cells are more susceptible to the disrupting effects of hydrostatic pressure. The effects of hydrostatic pressure on cell morphology were reversible.
Total Glucosides of Peony Attenuates Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis in C57BL/6 Mice.

Abstract:Total glucosides of peony (TGP), an active compound extracted from the roots of Paeonia lactiflora Pall, has wide pharmacological effects on nervous system. Here we examined the effects of TGP on experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), an established model of multiple sclerosis (MS). The results showed that TGP can reduce the severity and progression of EAE in C57 BL/6 mice. In addition, TGP also down-regulated the Th1/Th17 inflammatory response and prevented the reduced expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and 2',3'-cyclic nucleotide 3'-phosphodiesterase of EAE. These findings suggest that TGP could be a potential therapeutic agent for MS.
The Protective Effect Of Berberine Against Neuronal Damage By Inhibiting Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 And Laminin Degradation In Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis

Abstract:Objective: This study aims to assess the protective effect of berberine against neuronal damage in the brain parenchyma of mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). Methods: EAE was induced in female C57 BL/6 mice with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein 35-55 amino acid peptide. The berberine treatment was initiated on the day of disease onset and administered daily until the mice were sacrificed. Terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling (TUNEL) assay, gelatin gel, and gelatin in situ zymography were analysed in this study. Results: Berberine reduced the TUNEL-positive neuronal cells of EAE mice. Gelatin gel and gelatin in situ zymography showed up-regulation of gelatinase activity, which was mainly located in neurons and colocalized with remarkable laminin degradation in EAE mice. Berberine significantly inhibited gelatinase activity and reduced the laminin degradation in EAE mice. Discussion: Our data suggest that berberine could provide protection against neuronal damage in EAE by inhibiting gelatinase activity and reducing laminin degradation. These findings provide further support that berberine can be a potential therapeutic agent for multiple sclerosis.
The therapeutic potential of ginkgolide K in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis via peripheral immunomodulation

Abstract:Multiple sclerosis is a T cell-mediated inflammatory, demyelinating disease of the central nervous system, accompanied by neuronal degeneration. Based on the anti-inflammatory effects of Ginkgolide K (GK), a platelet activating factor antagonist, we explored the possible application of GK in the treatment of MS. The results showed that GK effectively ameliorated the severity of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis. The intervention of GK inhibited the infiltration of inflammatory cells and demyelination in the spinal cord. At the same time, the expression of the inflammation-related molecules TLR4, NF-κB, and COX2 in the spinal cord was significantly lower in the GK-treated mice, indicating that GK intervention can inhibit the inflammatory microenvironment of the spinal cord in EAE mice. In mouse spleen lymphocytes, GK increased the proportion of regulatory T cells (Treg) and reduced the proportion of T helper 17 cells (Th17), modifying the imbalance between Th17/Treg cells. Additionally, GK shifted macrophage/microglia polarization from M1 to M2 cell type. Importantly, GK inhibited the expression of chemotactic molecules CCL-2, CCL-3 and CCL-5, thereby limiting the migration of inflammatory cells to the spinal cord. Our results provide the possibility that GK may be a promising naturally small molecule compound for the future treatment of MS.

Abstract:AIM: The aim of this study was to investigate the beneficial effects of 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) on the experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE) in C57BL/6 mice. GA is a natural substance found in the root of licorice and is used in traditional Chinese medicine. It has many pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer effects.MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 40 C57BL/6 mice were divided equally into four groups: (1) Control, (2) EAE, (3) GA and (4) GA + EAE. 14 days after induction of EAE with MOG35-55 and pertussis toxin, mice were treated with GA at doses of 100 mg/kg/day for 7 days intraperitoneally.RESULTS: To our results, oxidative stress and lipid peroxidations (elevated TBARS levels, decreased GPx, SOD, CAT, and GSH levels) were significantly (p < .01) increased, causing EAE in brain tissue. Also, histopathological damage (Caspase-3 and IL-17 activity, p ≤ .01) and cytokine levels (TNF-α and IL-1β, p < .01) were induced with EAE in mice brain tissue. On the other hand, GA treatment significantly (p < .01) reversed oxidative histological and immunological alterations caused by EAE.CONCLUSIONS: In conclusion, the GA treatment can protect the brain tissue against EAE in mice with its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Abstract:Eugenol is a principal compound in essential clove oil, known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. While recent studies have demonstrated its neuroprotective effects on central nervous system (CNS) injuries, such as brain ischemia/reperfusion injuries, but its potential impact on multiple sclerosis (MS), an autoimmune disease of the CNS, has not yet been explored. We evaluated the therapeutic effects of eugenol on experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), an established animal model of MS. EAE was induced in C57BL/6 mice using the myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) 35–55 peptide. Clinical symptoms, including paralysis, were monitored daily, and levels of pro-inflammatory mediators were evaluated using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction, Western blot analyses, and immunohistochemistry. Daily oral administration of eugenol to MOG-induced EAE mice led to a notable decline in the severity of clinical symptoms. Eugenol inhibited EAE-related immune cell infiltration and the production of pro-inflammatory mediators. Histological examinations confirmed its ability to mitigate inflammation and demyelination in the spinal cord post-EAE induction. Eugenol alleviates neuroinflammation in the spinal cords of EAE-induced mice, primarily through anti-inflammatory action.

Abstract:Background: Ginsenosides are main active compounds of Panax ginseng with pharmacological effects on immunological/neurological diseases. Recently, ginsenoside-Re (G-Re) has been shown to exert neuroprotective effects on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. However, whether G-Re has an effect on multiple sclerosis (MS), a representative autoimmune disease of the central nervous system (CNS), has not been revealed yet. Purpose and methods: The purpose of this study was to investigate pharmacological effects of G-Re and related molecular mechanisms using a myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein peptide-immunized experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) animal model of MS and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated bEND.3 cells as an in vitro model of the blood-brain barrier (BBB). Results: G-Re attenuated motor impairment of EAE, demyelination, and inflammation in spinal cords of EAE mice. G-Re reduced infiltration/activation of microglia/macrophages and decreased mRNA expression levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β and IL-6), chemokines (MIP-1α, MCP-1, and RANTES), and enzymes (iNOS) in spinal cords of EAE mice. G-Re inhibited alterations of BBB constituents (such as astrocytes, cell adhesion molecule (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1), and tight junctional molecules (occludin and zonula occludens-1)) and toll like receptor 4 (TLR4)/MyD88/nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) signaling pathways in spinal cords of EAE mice and LPS-stimulated bEND.3 cells. Interestingly, combination treatment with G-Re and TLR4 inhibitor (TAK242) significantly inhibited the upregulation of TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB pathway in LPS-stimulated bEND.3 cells. TLR4 inhibitor- and activator-treated EAE mice showed conflicting behavior patterns. Conclusion: G-Re might alleviate motor impairment of EAE and its pathological/inflammatory events in the spinal cord by preventing BBB disruption via downregulation of TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB signaling pathways. These findings for the first time suggest that G-Re might be a potential therapeutic for MS through maintenance of BBB integrity.
Pomegranate peel extract ameliorates the severity of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis via modulation of gut microbiota

Abstract:<span>Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a CNS autoimmune disease characterized by demyelination and inflammatory infiltration with a high disability rate. Increasing evidence has demonstrated the importance of gut microbiota as an environmental risk factor in MS and its animal model experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). Diet is the main determinant of gut microbiota composition and function, which greatly affects the shaping of microbial structure. Pomegranate peel, a waste product in the production of juice, is rich in health-promoting compounds. However, its individual constituents, immunoregulatory activities, and action associated with bacterial diversity in the gut microbiota are largely unknown. Here, the main nutrient ingredients of pomegranate peel extract (PPE) were identified as phenols, flavonoids, amino acids, carbohydrates, fatty acids, lipids, nucleotides, organic acids, alcohols, and vitamins via metabolomics evaluation. We found, for the first time, oral PPE (100 mg/kg/day) not only effectively relieves EAE, inhibits CNS inflammatory factor infiltration and myelin loss, but also reshapes gut microbiota. Furthermore, recipient EAE mice with fecal transplantation from the PPE-treated donor delayed the disease development significantly. 16S rRNA gene sequencing revealed the increased gut microbiota richness in PPE-treated group. Among them, Lactobacillaceae enriched significantly, while Alcaligenaceae and Acidaminococcacea decreased remarkably. In conclusion, our data demonstrated that gut microbiota mediated the beneficial effects of oral PPE on EAE, and provided new ideas for developing the prebiotic value of pomegranate peel for the treatment of autoimmune diseases.</span>

Abstract:Abstract: Breast radiotherapy during childhood may cause unpredictable outcomes in soft tissue growth and may be responsible for most iatrogenic‐related breast hypoplasias. Poor local skin quality and subcutaneous atrophy poses a difficult problem for the use of alloplastic tissues. Clinical use of a deep inferior epigastric perforator flap (DIEP) in oncological breast surgery is a common practice; however few studies have described its application in benign situations and no previous report addressed this subject. The authors indicate the use of the DIEP flap to correct severe hypomastia after previous childhood radiotherapy for hemangioma treatment, followed by unsuccessful alloplastic tissue reconstruction. For selected patients the DIEP flap may constitute a new alternative for complications of radiotherapy treatment due to the possibility of large tissue transfer with minimal donor area morbidity. The quantity of flap tissue necessary to restore the breast mound, the perforator vessel size, and the quality of suitable recipient vessels should be carefully evaluated. However, the need for microsurgical training as well as the extended surgical time are the main limiting factors for the use of this flap.
Grape seed proanthocyanidin extract alleviates inflammation in experimental colitis mice by inhibiting NF‐κB signaling pathway

Abstract:Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a complex inflammatory disease of colorectum that induces abnormal immune responses and severely affects the quality of life of the patients. Grape seed proanthocyanidin extract (GSPE) exerts anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant functions in many inflammatory diseases. The objective of this study was to investigate the potential therapeutic effects and underlying mechanisms of GSPE in UC using a dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)‐induced mouse UC model and a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)‐stimulated RAW264.7 macrophage model. In this study, we found that the GSPE markedly prevented DSS‐induced weight loss and colon length shortening in UC mice. Further investigations showed that GSPE significantly attenuated the expression of pro‐inflammatory cytokines TNF‐α, IL‐6, and IL‐1β, and elevated the expression of anti‐inflammatory cytokine IL‐10 in the colon tissues and serum of DSS‐induced colitis mice by suppressing NF‐κB signaling pathway. Furthermore, LPS‐induced inflammation in RAW264.7 cells was also reversed by GSPE. Taken together, our results confirm that GSPE can ameliorate inflammatory response in experimental colitis via inhibiting NF‐κB signaling pathway. This study advances the research progress on a potentially effective therapeutic strategy for inflammatory bowel diseases.
