Abstract:The significance of spirituality and religion in dealing with various stressors has been debated among mental health practitioners, counselors, and researchers for quite some time. It was only in 1994 that the American Psychiatric Association included in its well known diagnostic statistical manual (DSM) a new category for religious or spiritual problems with diagnostic criteria of loss of faith, problems with religious conversion, or questioning of spiritual values. Researchers observed that questioning (or loss of) faith, for example, could cause distress and mimic the symptoms of psychiatric disorder, and noted similarities between the symptoms of spiritual distress and those of depression which necessitates addressing spirituality while treating depression or other mental and health conditions. This paper demonstrates how spirituality and religion are interrelated to cultural values and the belief systems of ethnic minorities, and their role in mental health treatment among African American women.
Rehabilitation Interventions for Physical Capacity and Quality of Life in Adults With Post-COVID-19 Condition: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Abstract:Importance: Current rehabilitation guidelines for patients with post-COVID-19 condition (PCC) are primarily based on expert opinions and observational data, and there is an urgent need for evidence-based rehabilitation interventions to support patients with PCC. Objective: To synthesize the findings of existing studies that report on physical capacity (including functional exercise capacity, muscle function, dyspnea, and respiratory function) and quality of life outcomes following rehabilitation interventions in patients with PCC. Data sources: A systematic electronic search was performed from January 2020 until February 2023, in MEDLINE, Scopus, CINAHL, and the Clinical Trials Registry. Key terms that were used to identify potentially relevant studies included long-covid, post-covid, sequelae, exercise therapy, rehabilitation, physical activity, physical therapy, and randomized controlled trial. Study selection: This study included randomized clinical trials that compared respiratory training and exercise-based rehabilitation interventions with either placebo, usual care, waiting list, or control in patients with PCC. Data extraction and synthesis: This study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses. A pairwise bayesian random-effects meta-analysis was performed using vague prior distributions. Risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool version 2, and the certainty of evidence was evaluated using the GRADE system by 2 independent researchers. Main outcomes and measures: The primary outcome was functional exercise capacity, measured at the closest postintervention time point by the 6-minute walking test. Secondary outcomes were fatigue, lower limb muscle function, dyspnea, respiratory function, and quality of life. All outcomes were defined a priori. Continuous outcomes were reported as standardized mean differences (SMDs) with 95% credible intervals (CrIs) and binary outcomes were summarized as odds ratios with 95% CrIs. The between-trial heterogeneity was quantified using the between-study variance, τ2, and 95% CrIs. Results: Of 1834 identified records, 1193 were screened, and 14 trials (1244 patients; 45% female participants; median [IQR] age, 50 [47 to 56] years) were included in the analyses. Rehabilitation interventions were associated with improvements in functional exercise capacity (SMD, -0.56; 95% CrI, -0.87 to -0.22) with moderate certainty in 7 trials (389 participants). These improvements had a 99% posterior probability of superiority when compared with current standard care. The value of τ2 (0.04; 95% CrI, 0.00 to 0.60) indicated low statistical heterogeneity. However, there was significant uncertainty and imprecision regarding the probability of experiencing exercise-induced adverse events (odds ratio, 1.68; 95% CrI, 0.32 to 9.94). Conclusions and relevance: The findings of this systematic review and meta-analysis suggest that rehabilitation interventions are associated with improvements in functional exercise capacity, dyspnea, and quality of life, with a high probability of improvement compared with the current standard care; the certainty of evidence was moderate for functional exercise capacity and quality of life and low for other outcomes. Given the uncertainty surrounding the safety outcomes, additional trials with enhanced monitoring of adverse events are necessary.

Abstract:Background Cognitive impairment (CI) is one of the most prevalent and burdensome consequences of COVID-19 infection, which can persist up to months or even years after remission of the infection. Current guidelines on post-COVID CI are based on available knowledge on treatments used for improving CI in other conditions. The current review aims to provide an updated overview of the existing evidence on the efficacy of treatments for post-COVID CI. Methods A systematic literature search was conducted for studies published up to December 2023 using three databases (PubMed–Scopus–ProQuest). Controlled and noncontrolled trials, cohort studies, case series, and reports testing interventions on subjects with CI following COVID-19 infection were included. Results After screening 7790 articles, 29 studies were included. Multidisciplinary approaches, particularly those combining cognitive remediation interventions, physical exercise, and dietary and sleep support, may improve CI and address the different needs of individuals with post-COVID-19 condition. Cognitive remediation interventions can provide a safe, cost-effective option and may be tailored to deficits in specific cognitive domains. Noninvasive brain stimulation techniques and hyperbaric oxygen therapy showed mixed and preliminary results. Evidence for other interventions, including pharmacological ones, remains sparse. Challenges in interpreting existing evidence include heterogeneity in study designs, assessment tools, and recruitment criteria; lack of long-term follow-up; and under-characterization of samples in relation to confounding factors. Conclusions Further research, grounded on shared definitions of the post-COVID condition and on the accurate assessment of COVID-related CI, in well-defined study samples and with longer follow-ups, is crucial to address this significant unmet need.

[Successful pregnancy after 6 years complete remission in patient with acute myeloblastic leukemia].

Abstract:A 25-year-old woman was diagnosed as acute myeloblastic leukemia (M1 in FAB classification) in May 1983, and treated with DCMP regimen, which led to the complete remission. Intensification therapies and maintenance therapy with OK-432 were continued until August 1988, and 10 months later she conceived. She delivered a healthy 2,680 g male baby at 36th week of pregnancy by Cesarean section because of abruptio placentae. This case suggests that normal pregnancy is possible in patients with acute leukemia who received anti-cancer drugs.

Abstract:Objectives: : We aimed to review the most recent articles on the rehabilitation of patients after coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and to identify the methods and effects of rehabilitation on such patients.Methods: : A literature search was conducted using PubMed and Web of Science from study inception to October 2022 using the following search terms to identify meta-analyses and randomized controlled studies with abstracts written in English: ["COVID-19" or "COVID 19" or "2019-nCoV" or "SARS-CoV" or "novel coronavirus" or "SARS-CoV-2"] and ["rehabilitation"]. Publications investigating the effects of pulmonary and physical rehabilitation on patients with COVID-19 were extracted.Results: The extraction process selected four meta-analyses, two systematic reviews, two literature reviews, and two randomized controlled trials. Pulmonary rehabilitation recovered forced vital capacity (FVC), 6-min walk distance (6MWD), health-related quality of life (HRQOL), and dyspnea. Pulmonary rehabilitation increased predicted FVC, distance in the 6MWD test, and HRQOL score compared with baseline values. Physical rehabilitation, comprising aerobic exercises and resistance training, effectively improved fatigue, functional capacity, and quality of life with no adverse events. Telerehabilitation was an effective tool to provide rehabilitation for patients with COVID-19.Conclusions: Our study suggests that rehabilitation after COVID-19 should be considered an effective therapeutic strategy to improve the functional capacity and quality of life of patients with COVID-19.

Rehabilitation Interventions for Old Adults with Post COVID-19 Infection: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trails

Abstract:Background: Post COVID-19 infection is of particular concern among old adults. Some interventions have been employed to improve symptoms, capacity, and quality of life in patients with post COVID-19 infection, yet there is still a lack of evidence on the effectiveness of these interventions for old adults. Thus, we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of the existing randomized controlled trails (RCTs), aimed to aimed to comprehensively summarize the pattern and effectiveness of current rehabilitation interventions for old adults with post COVID-19 infection. Methods: We systematically searched studies published up to 15 November 2023 in PubMed, EMBASE, Web of science, ScienceDirect and Cochrane Library databases. Randomized controlled trails (RCTs) compared rehabilitation interventions with other control in old adults (mean or median age of 60 or older) with post COVID-19 infection were included. We performed a meta-analysis to compare the effects of the rehabilitation interventions with the common control group. Difference in mean (MD) or standardized mean difference (SMD) with its 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used as summary statistics. Moreover, subgroup analyses based on the intervention programmes, severity in acute infection, and age of participants were carried out.Findings: A total of 11 RCTs involving 832 participants (64.37±7.94 years, 52.2% were men) were included in the analysis. Meta-analysis results showed that compared with the control groups, rehabilitation interventions significantly improved 6-minute walking test (6MWT; MD, 15.77m [95%CI, 5.40-26.13], p<0.01), 30 s sit-to-stand test (MD, 4.11 n [95% CI, 2.46-5.76], p<0.001), fatigue (SMD, -0.66 [95%CI, -1.13 to -0.19], p<0.01), aspects of quality of life, independence in activities of daily living (SMD, 0.31 [95%CI, 0.14-0.48], p<0.001), depression (SMD, -0.89 [95%CI, -1.76 to -0.02], p<0.05) and anxiety (SMD, -0.81 [95%CI, -1.58 to -0.05], p<0.05). However, the improvement of hand grip strength (HGS) and pulmonary function was not statistically significant (p>0.05). Subgroup analyses showed that improvements in 6MWT, fatigue, anxiety, and depression were more pronounced in old patients who received exercise training, while those who received respiratory rehabilitation had more pronounced improvements in pulmonary function and quality of life.Interpretation: Old adults with post COVID-19 infection who underwent rehabilitation interventions experienced significant improvement in functional capacity, fatigue, quality of life, independence in activities of daily living, and reductions in depression and anxiety outcomes compared with those who receiving usual or standard care. These findings suggest that screening, management, and rehabilitation interventions for long COVID in old adults should be strengthened to improve the complete health status and functional status of older patients, thereby reducing the long-term disease burden caused by long COVID-19.Funding: This work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No.7221101017).Declaration of Interest: Authors declare no conflict of interest with the content of this article.

Abstract:Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, many people suffered from Long Covid Syndrome, in which affected individuals do not recover immediately after the end of the infectious and inflammatory process caused by the virus. The most common neuropsychological symptoms of this syndrome are: memory decline, lack of attention, anxiety and depression. Objective: The purpose of this study was to develop a proposed cognitive rehabilitation protocol for post-COVID individuals with cognitive symptoms. Methods: A rehabilitation proposed protocol focusing on attention and memory was developed, based on the tests used in the neuropsychological evaluation of affected patients. Researchers held weekly sessions for six months, each lasting 60 minutes. Homework activities were also assigned and corrected in the following session. The attention and memory sessions were conducted with activities based on the applied tests. Results: Despite the methodological separation of attention and memory, the activities indirectly affect other cognitive functions and abilities, such as executive function, language, reasoning, execution strategies, and cognitive flexibility. A computer, a sheet of paper, and a pen were used to present the slides for the activities. Attention training included all types of attention: sustained, alternating, selective and divided. Memory training sessions included activities that stimulated both short-term and long-term memory. With each session, the difficulty of the activities was gradually increased. Conclusion: Cognitive rehabilitation already has more consolidated evidence about its effectiveness for the treatment of other pathologies, so it can be thought that it will also be a promising strategy for COVID-19 too.
Effectiveness of telerehabilitation vs. face-to-face pulmonary rehabilitation on physical function and quality of life in people with post COVID-19 condition: a systematic review and network meta-analysis

Abstract:Introduction: Post COVID-19 condition (PCC) is characterized by the persistence of symptoms associated with COVID-19 infection for more than 12 weeks, with worsening quality of life and physical function deconditioning being among the most commonly reported persistent symptoms. Pulmonary rehabilitation has emerged as a safe and viable option for these patients. Administered either face-to-face (FTF) or telemedicine (TL), it has been shown to improve symptoms associated with PCC. However, little is known about which approach is best for this population. Therefore, we conducted a systematic review and network meta-analysis on the efficacy of FTF versus TL compared to usual care in improving physical function and quality of life (physical and mental) in patients with PCC. Evidence acquisition: A systematic search of PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science was performed from 2020 to January 5th, 2024. Two independent reviewers performed study selection, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment; this selection included only randomized controlled trials. A network meta-analysis was performed to compare the effects of FTF and TL with usual care. Multivariate and univariate analysis were performed to evaluate the best intervention. Evidence synthesis: Data were extracted from 10 studies, five of which were treated with FTF and five of which were TL, involving 765 adults with PCC, ranging in age from 22 to 66 years. Interventions consisted of isolated or combined exercises (aerobic, resistance, breathing) and lasted between three and ten weeks in most of the included studies. Multivariate analysis found that FTF produced significant differences compared to TL or usual care with moderate quality of evidence. Univariate analysis found that significant differences were only found for physical function and mental domain of quality of life for TL vs. usual care, with moderate quality of evidence. Conclusions: This study supports the use of FTF as a therapy to improve physical function and quality of life in patients with PCC. However, in the absence of differences between FTF and TL in the univariate model for any of the outcomes studied, the choice of the form of pulmonary rehabilitation administration should be individualized. Future studies should compare FTF with TL directly to clarify which is the best approach.

Abstract:Purpose: The coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization in March 2020. COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2 has imposed a significant burden on health care systems, economies, and social systems in many countries around the world. The provision of rehabilitation services for persons with active COVID-19 infection poses challenges to maintaining a safe environment for patients and treating providers. Materials and Methods: Established frameworks were used to guide the scoping review methodology. Medline, Embase, Pubmed, CINAHL databases from inception to August 1, 2020, and prominent rehabilitation organizations’ websites were searched. Study Selection: We included articles and reports if they were focused on rehabilitation related recommendations for COVID-19 patients, treating providers, or the general population. Data Extraction: Pairs of team members used a pre-tested data abstraction form to extract data from included full-text articles. The strength and the quality of the extracted recommendations were evaluated by two reviewers using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach. Results: We retrieved 6,468 citations, of which 2,086 were eligible for review, after duplicates were removed. We excluded 1,980 citations based on title and abstract screening. Of the screened full-text articles, we included all 106 studies. A summary of recommendations is presented. We assessed the overall evidence to be strong and of fair quality. Conclusion: The rehabilitation setting, and processes, logistics, and patient and healthcare provider precaution recommendations identified aim to reduce the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infection and ensure adequate and safe rehabilitation services, whether face-to-face or through teleservices. The COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly changing. Further updates will be needed over time in order to incorporate emerging best evidence into rehabilitation guidelines.

Abstract:Introduction: This paper adds to the series of systematic rapid living reviews, started in April 2020, to provide the rehabilitation community with updates on the latest scientific literature on rehabilitation needs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The aim of this study was to present the results of a systematic search performed on papers published from May 1st to May 31st, 2020. Evidence acquisition: An extensive search on the main medical literature databases for articles published (including Epub), in English, from May 1st to May 31st, 2020 was performed, according to the methodology already described in the previous 2 rapid reviews, with 2 important improvements: first, we made the search string more comprehensive; second, we relied on accredited terminologies to describe the study designs and report the rehabilitation settings. Evidence synthesis: Fifty-eight out of 618 articles were finally included for qualitative analysis. The number of primary studies has increased, with respect to the previous months, although still around 60% papers are just expert opinions. Six papers report on the prevalence and /or characteristics of emerging disability after COVID-19, 12 on rehabilitation approaches to COVID-19 patients, up to 25 on the organization of rehabilitation services after COVID-19, 13 papers on the impact of COVID-19 on health conditions of rehabilitative interest and only 2 on late complications due to COVID-19 that may be of rehabilitative interest. Conclusions: Nowadays, all patients with disability, regardless of COVID-19 infection, are suffering because of restrictions imposed to rehabilitation service delivery. Neurological involvement is often present during acute and postacute stage, conveying the risk of a long-lasting disability. Accordingly, careful neurological monitoring should be granted. Although new therapies are under development, the main gap in the available scientific literature is the lack of high-quality primary studies, so experimental studies on the effects of rehabilitation are still warranted.
Clinical practice guidelines and expert consensus statements on rehabilitation for patients with COVID-19: protocol for a systematic review

Abstract:Introduction: COVID-19 is a highly infectious disease, characterised by respiratory, physical and psychological dysfunctions. Rehabilitation could effectively alleviate the symptoms and promote recovery of the physical and mental health of patients with COVID-19. Recently, rehabilitation medical institutions have issued clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) and expert consensus statements involving recommendations for rehabilitation assessments and rehabilitation therapies for COVID-19. This systematic review aims to assess the methodological quality and reporting quality of the guidance documents, evaluate the heterogeneity of the recommendations and summarise the recommendations with respect to rehabilitation assessments and rehabilitation therapies for COVID-19 to provide a quick reference for front-line clinicians, therapists and patients as well as reasonable suggestions for future guidelines. Methods and analysis: The electronic databases including PubMed, Embase, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), Chinese Science and Technology Periodical Database (VIP), Wanfang Database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and websites of governments or organisations (eg, National Guideline Clearinghouse, Guidelines International Network, National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence, Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network and WHO) will be searched for eligible CPGs and expert consensus statements from inception to August 2022. CPGs and expert consensus statements published in Chinese or English and presenting recommendations for modern functional rehabilitation techniques and/or traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation techniques for COVID-19 will be included. Reviews, interpretations, old versions of CPGs and expert consensus statements and those for the management of other diseases during the pandemic will be excluded. Two reviewers will independently review each article, extract data, appraise the methodological quality following the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research & Evaluation II tool and assess the reporting quality with the Reporting Items for Practice Guidelines in Healthcare statement. The Measurement Scale of Rate of Agreement will be used to evaluate the heterogeneity of the recommendations in different CPGs and expert consensus statements. Agreement between reviewers will be calculated using the intraclass correlation coefficient. We will also summarise the recommendations for rehabilitation in patients with COVID-19. The results will be narratively described and presented as tables or figures. Ethics and dissemination: Ethics approval is not needed for this systematic review because information from published documents will be used. The findings will be submitted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal and reported in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. Abstract:Individuals with lasting symptoms of COVID-19 should be offered a comprehensive recovery programme. 30 individuals (mean[SD] age 58[16]) that completed a 6 week, twice supervised rehabilitation programme demonstrated statistically significant improvements in exercise capacity, respiratory symptoms, fatigue and cognition. Participants improved by 112 m on the Incremental Shuttle Walking Test and 544 seconds on the Endurance Shuttle Walking Test. There were no serious adverse events recorded, and there were no dropouts related to symptom worsening. COVID-19 rehabilitation appears feasible and significantly improves clinical outcomes.

Additive benefit of rehabilitation on physical status, symptoms and mental health after hospitalisation for severe COVID-19 pneumonia

Abstract:Introduction The potential additive benefits of rehabilitation beyond spontaneous recovery post-COVID-19 currently remain unknown. Methods In this prospective, interventional, non-randomised parallel assignment two-arm study, we investigated the effects of an 8-week rehabilitation programme (Rehab, n=25) added to usual care (UC) versus UC (n=27) on respiratory symptoms, fatigue, functional capacity, mental health and health-related quality of life in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia, 6–8 weeks post-hospital discharge. The rehabilitation programme included exercise, education, dietary and psychological support. Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, respiratory and heart failure were excluded from the study. Results At baseline, groups were not different in mean age (56 years), gender (53% female), intensive care unit admission (61%), intubation (39%), days of hospitalisation (25), number of symptoms (9) and number of comorbidities (1.4). Baseline evaluation was conducted at median (IQR) 76 (27) days after symptoms onset. Groups were not different regarding baseline evaluation outcomes. At 8 weeks, Rehab showed significantly greater improvement in COPD Assessment Test by a mean±SEM (95% CI) 7.07±1.36 (4.29–9.84), p <0.001 and all three fatigue questionnaires: Chalder-Likert: 5.65±1.27 (3.04–8.25), p <0.001; bimodal: 3.04±0.86 (1.28–4.79), p=0.001; Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy: 6.37±2.09 (2.08–10.65), p=0.005 and Fatigue Severity Scale: 1.36±0.433 (0.47–2.25), p=0.004. At 8 weeks rehab also showed significantly greater improvment in Short Physical Performance Battery: 1.13±0.33 (0.46–1.79), p=0.002; Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) Anxiety: 2.93±1.01 (0.67–5.18), p=0.013; Beck Depression Inventory: 7.81±3.07 (1.52–14.09), p=0.017; Montreal Cognitive Assessment: 2.83±0.63 (1.5–4.14), p <0.001; EuroQol (EQ-5D-5L) Utility Index: 0.21±0.05 (0.1–0.32), p=0.001 and Visual Analogue Scale: 6.57±3.21 (0.2–13.16), p=0.043. Both groups significantly improved 6-min walking distance by approximately 60 m and pulmonary function measures, whereas post-traumatic stress disorder measurement IES-R (Impact of Event Scale, Revised) and HADS-Depression score were not different between groups at 8 weeks. A 16% attrition rate was observed in the rehabilitation group exhibiting a threefold increase in training workload. There were no adverse effects reported during exercise training. Discussion These findings highlight the added value of rehabilitation post-COVID-19 to amplify the natural course of physical and mental recovery that otherwise would remain incomplete with UC.
Efficacy of Pulmonary Rehabilitation in Post-COVID-19: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Abstract:Background: This systematic review and meta-analysis examines how pulmonary rehabilitation impacts in patients suffering from subacute and long COVID-19 infections, gauging enhancements in of dyspnea, physical function, quality of life, psychological state (anxiety and depression), and fatigue. Methods: Five electronic databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, and Scopus) were systematically searched for full-text articles published from inception to January 2023. Randomized, quasi-experimental, and observational studies were included, with adults diagnosed with subacute or long COVID-19 who received pulmonary rehabilitation as intervention. Outcomes related to dyspnea, physical function, quality of life, fatigue, and psychological status were included. Risk of bias was assessed with Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool for Randomized Controlled Trials and Risk of bias in non-randomized studies of intervention. The review was registered before starting in PROSPERO (CRD: 42022373075). Results: Thirty-four studies were included, involving 1970 patients with subacute and long COVID-19. The meta-analysis demonstrated moderate to large effects on dyspnea, physical function, quality of life, and depressive symptoms compared to usual care intervention. No significant differences were found in fatigue compared to usual care, nor in anxiety levels after pulmonary rehabilitation intervention. Conclusions: Pulmonary rehabilitation has the potential to improve health outcomes in patients with subacute and long COVID-19. However, due to the high risk of bias of included studies, conclusions should be taken with caution.

Abstract:Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) significantly impacts physical, psychological, and social functioning and reduces quality of life, which may persist for at least 6 months. Given the fact that COVID-19 is a highly infectious disease and therefore healthcare facilities may be sources of contagion, new methods avoiding face-to-face contact between healthcare workers and patients are urgently needed. Telerehabilitation is the provision of rehabilitation services to patients at a distance via information and communication technologies. However, high-quality evidence of the efficacy of telerehabilitation for COVID-19 is still lacking. This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the efficacy of telerehabilitation for patients with and survivors of COVID-19. Methods: We searched the Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Medline ( via PubMed), PEDro, ClinicalTrials.gov, and WHO International Clinical Trials Registry Platform from January 1st, 2020 to April 30th, 2022 for randomized controlled trials published in English, which aimed to evaluate the efficacy of telerehabilitation vs. face-to-face rehabilitation, usual care, or no treatment for COVID-19. Methodological quality and overall evidence quality of the included studies were assessed. The statistical reliability of the data was quantified using the trial sequential analysis. Results: Seven randomized controlled trials with eight comparisons were included and all of them were used for meta-analysis. The meta-analyses of absolute values showed the superiority of telerehabilitation over no treatment or usual care for dyspnea (Borg scale: mean difference = −1.88, −2.37 to −1.39; Multidimensional dyspnea-12: mean difference = −3.70, −5.93 to −1.48), limb muscle strength (mean difference = 3.29; 2.12 to 4.47), ambulation capacity (standardized mean difference = 0.88; 0.62 to 1.14), and depression (mean difference = −5.68; −8.62 to −2.74). Significant improvement in these variables persisted in the meta-analyses of change scores. No significant difference was found in anxiety and quality of life. No severe adverse events were reported in any of the included studies. Conclusions: Moderate- to very low-quality evidence demonstrates that telerehabilitation may be an effective and safe solution for patients with and survivors of COVID-19 in dyspnea, lower limb muscle strength, ambulation capacity, and depression. Further well-designed studies are required to evaluate the long-term effects, cost-effectiveness, and satisfaction in larger samples.
