Abstract:Microcystin-RR (MCRR), a very widespread toxic microcystin in China, has previously been proved to induce sensitive apoptosis in Carassius auratus lymphocytes in vitro. This study focused on the role of intracellular Ca(2+), mitochondrial membrane potential, reactive oxygen species, and intracellular ATP in the mechanism of MCRR-induced apoptotic toxicity to fish lymphocytes. Compared with controls, administration of MCRR (10 nmol L(-1)) caused a massive calcium influx resulting in elevation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), rapid disruption of mitochondrial membrane potential (DeltaPsim), and depletion of ATP. This study provided a possible mechanism for the cytotoxicity of microcystins to fish lymphocytes.

Abstract:Aiming at the combined pollution of low dose microcystins (MCs) and disinfection byproducts (DBPs) in drinking water, the individual and combined cytotoxic effects of two MCs (MCLR and MCRR) and two DBP compounds (CHClBr1 and CHCl2Br) on the apoptosis of isolated grass carp (Ctenopharngodon idellus) lymphocytes were examined by using in vitro bioassays. The results showed that after 2 hours exposure to the four pollutants within the range of test concentrations, the apoptosis of isolated lymphocyte occurred, and there existed significant dose-effect relationship. The combined cytotoxic effects of 1 nmol x L(-1) MCLR or MCRR and 1-100 nmol x L(-1) CHClr2 or CHCl2Br were all of additive, and the apoptosis percent was highly correlated with the exposure dose. It was suggested that the apoptosis percent of grass carp lymphocytes could be used as an effective indicator to evaluate the cytotoxicity caused by the combined pollution of MCs and DBPs.
Microcystin-LR Induced Reactive Oxygen Species Mediate Cytoskeletal Disruption and Apoptosis of Hepatocytes in Cyprinus Carpio L.

Abstract:Microcystins (MCs) are a group of cyclic hepatotoxic peptides produced by cyanobacteria. Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) contains Leucine (L) and Arginine (R) in the variable positions, and is one of the most common and potently toxic peptides. MC-LR can inhibit protein phosphatase type 1 and type 2A (PP1 and PP2A) activities and induce excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). The underlying mechanism of the inhibition of PP1 and PP2A has been extensively studied. The over-production of ROS is considered to be another main mechanism behind MC-LR toxicity; however, the detailed toxicological mechanism involved in over-production of ROS in carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) remains largely unclear. In our present study, the hydroxyl radical (•OH) was significantly induced in the liver of carp after a relatively short-term exposure to MC-LR. The elevated reactive oxygen species (ROS) production may play an important role in the disruption of microtubule structure. Pre-injection of the antioxidant N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC) provided significant protection to the cytoskeleton, however buthionine sulfoximine (BSO) exacerbated cytoskeletal destruction. In addition, the elevated ROS formation induced the expression of apoptosis-related genes, including p38, JNKa, and bcl-2. A significant increase in apoptotic cells was observed at 12-48 hours. Our study further supports evidence that ROS are involved in MC-LR induced damage to liver cells in carp, and indicates the need for further study of the molecular mechanisms behind MC-LR toxicity.
Effects of MC-LR on histological structure and cell apoptosis in the kidney of grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella)

Abstract:Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) is a well-known hepatotoxin; however, increasing evidence suggests that it might induce kidney injury. Grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idella) is one of the most important farmed species and may be affected by MC-LR releasing into waterbody during cyanobacterial bloom. Here, this present study aimed to explore the nephrotoxicity of grass carp by MC-LR. The grass carp received a single intraperitoneal injection of different doses of MC-LR (0, 25, 75, and 100 μg/kg body weight (BW)), and the kidneys were isolated at 24 and 96 h post-injection (hpi). Histopathological examination revealed kidney lesions, with severe hemorrhage, necrosis of the interstitium, and dilation of Bowman’s capsule in the 75 and 100 μg MC-LR/kg BW groups. Under transmission electron microscopy, a larger number of swelling and vacuolated degeneration of mitochondria were observed; moreover, apoptotic features, such as condensed chromatin and shrinkage of cells, were observed in the 75 and 100 μg MC-LR/kg BW groups at 96 hpi. MC-LR significantly upregulated the number of apoptotic cells in the 75 and 100 μg/kg BW groups at 96 hpi as indicated by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL) assay (P < 0. 05). The results of quantitative assays showed that the mRNA expression of Bax, caspase-9, and caspase-3 in grass carp kidney were significantly increased at 96 hpi in the 75 and 100 μg MC-LR/kg BW groups compared with that in the control group, but Bcl-2 mRNA expression was significantly decreased in all the treatment groups at 24 and 96 hpi. Taken together, these results indicated that MC-LR damaged the kidney structure and resulted in renal apoptosis which may occur via the mitochondrial pathway.

Abstract:Although microcystin-LR (MC-LR) produced by cyanobacteria has been demonstrated with strong reproductive toxicity, the mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to probe the effects of MC-LR on induction of autophagy in Sertoli cells, as well as the relationship between autophagy and apoptosis. After exposure to various concentrations of MC-LR for 24 or 48 h, cell viability and membrane integrity were significantly decreased under high MC-LR conditions (50-500 nM). The autophagosome marker protein LC3 was increased at mild MC-LR concentrations (0.5-5 nM). However, autophagosomes accumulated to their peak level under high MC-LR conditions in parallel with significantly up-regulated apoptosis. Treatment with an autophagy inhibitor (3-MA) abrogated autophagosome accumulation and apoptosis. This study demonstrated that MC-LR had toxic effects on Sertoli cells by inducing autophagy and apoptosis. The autophagosome accumulation may be involved in the apoptosis induced by MC-LR.

Abstract:With the intensifying climate warming, blue-green algae blooms have become more frequent and severe, releasing environmental hazards such as microcystin that pose potential threats to human and animal health. Autophagy has been shown to play a crucial role in regulating immune responses induced by environmental hazards, enabling cells to adapt to stress and protect against damage. Although microcystin-LR (MC-LR) has been identified to affect autophagy in mammalian, its impact on aquatic animals has been poorly studied. To investigate the toxicological effects of MC-LR in aquatic ecosystems, we constructed a microRNA profile of acute MC-LR stress in the hepatopancreas of the Chinese mitten crab. Interestingly, we found the MC-LR exposure activated autophagy in the hepatopancreas based on the following evidence. Specifically, mRNA expression level of ATG7, Beclin1 and Gabarap was significantly up-regulated, autophagy regulatory pathways were significantly enriched, and numerous autolysosomes and autophagosomes were observed. Additionally, we found that miR-282-5p and its target gene PIK3R1 played important regulatory roles in autophagy by in vivo and in vitro experiments. Overexpression of miR-282-5p mimicked MC-LR-induced autophagy by inhibiting PIK3R1 expression, while miR-282-5p silencing inhibited autophagy by promoting PIK3R1 expression. Altogether, our findings suggest that MC-LR increases miR-282-5p, which then targets inhibition of PIK3R1 to stimulate autophagy. This study focused on the stress response regulatory mechanisms of juvenile crabs to toxic pollutants in water, offering a potential target for alleviating the toxicity of MC-LR. These findings lay a foundation for reducing the toxicity of MC-LR and environmental hazards in organisms.

Abstract:Microcystin-LR (MCLR), the most toxic microcystin up to date, could induce apoptosis in many kinds of fish and mammalian cells. For the fish immunotoxicity, it was found that MCLR could induce apoptosis in Carassius auratus lymphocytes in vitro. So this study focused on the role of intracellular Ca2+, mitochondrial membrane potential, reactive oxygen species (ROS), and intracellular ATP in response to the mechanisms of MCLR-induced apoptosis in fish lymphocytes. MCLR (10 nM) administration resulted in a massive elevation in ROS, intracellular Ca2+, decreased ATP, and rapid mitochondrial membrane potential (AT,) disruption. When compared to controls, both a fourfold significant (P < 0.001) elevation in O-2(-) in 1.5 h and an approximately twofold increase in Ca2+ in 0.5 h were observed. After 6 h of treatment, an approximately 30% decrease for Delta Psi m but about 75% decline for ATP were found. Together, the results demonstrated that MCLR-induced apoptosis was associated with a massive calcium influx, resulting in O-2(-) elevation, Delta Psi m disruption, and ATP depletion. Abstract:Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) is a toxin produced by cyanobacteria, which is widely distributed in eutrophic water bodies and has multi-organ toxicity. Previous cytotoxicity studies have mostly elucidated the effects of MC-LR on intracellular-related factors, proteins, and DNA at the molecular level. However, there have been few studies on the adverse effects of MC-LR on cell ultrastructure and function. Therefore, research on the cytotoxicity of MC-LR in recent years was collected and summarized. It was found that MC-LR can induce a series of cytotoxic effects, including decreased cell viability, induced autophagy, apoptosis and necrosis, altered cell cycle, altered cell morphology, abnormal cell migration and invasion as well as leading to genetic damage. The above cytotoxic effects were related to the damage of various ultrastructure and functions such as cell membranes and mitochondria. Furthermore, MC-LR can disrupt cell ultrastructure and function by inducing oxidative stress and inhibiting protein phosphatase activity. In addition, the combined toxic effects of MC-LR and other environmental pollutants were investigated. This review explored the toxic targets of MC-LR at the subcellular level, which will provide new ideas for the prevention and treatment of multi-organ toxicity caused by MC-LR.

Microcystin-LR Induced Apoptosis in Rat Sertoli Cells via the Mitochondrial Caspase-Dependent Pathway: Role of Reactive Oxygen Species

Abstract:Microcystins (MCs), the secondary metabolites of blue-green algae, are ubiquitous and major cyanotoxin contaminants. Besides the hepatopancreas/liver, the reproductive system is regarded as the most important target organ for MCs. Although reactive oxygen species (ROS) have been implicated in MCs-induced reproductive toxicity, the role of MCs in this pathway remains unclear. In the present study, Sertoli cells were employed to investigate apoptotic death involved in male reproductive toxicity of microcystin-LR (MC-LR). After exposure to various concentrations of MC-LR for 24 h, the growth of Sertoli cells was concentration-dependently decreased with an IC50 of ~32 μg/mL. Mitochondria-mediated apoptotic changes were observed in Sertoli cells exposed to 8, 16, and 32 μg/mL MC-LR including the increased expression of caspase pathway proteins, collapse of mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), and generation of ROS. Pretreatment with a global caspase inhibitor was found to depress the activation of caspases, and eventually increased the survival rate of Sertoli cells, implying that the mitochondrial caspases pathway is involved in MC-LR-induced apoptosis. Furthermore, N-acetyl-l-cysteine attenuated the MC-LR-induced intracellular ROS generation, MMP collapse and cytochrome c release, resulting in the inhibition of apoptosis. Taken together, the observed results suggested that MC-LR induced apoptotic death of Sertoli cells by the activation of mitochondrial caspases cascade, while its effects on the ROS-mediated signaling pathway may contribute toward the initiation of mitochondrial dysfunction.

Abstract:Microcystins including leucine–arginine l-amino acid (MCLR) and arginine–arginine l-amino acid (MCRR) can inhibit several serine/threonine protein phosphatases. In this study, we focused on the efficient biomarker for analyzing toxic cyanobacteria blooms using in vitro apoptosis bioassay. We explored the existence of sensitive apoptosis induced by MCLR and MCRR on isolated lymphocytes of the crucian carp (Carassius auratus) at a low exposure level. Apoptosis was detected in vitro and was clearly distinguished by condensation of nuclear chromatin and formation of apoptotic bodies, after 2h exposure at 1, 5, 10nM MCLR and MCRR, respectively. Agarose gel electrophoresis further revealed DNA fragmentation (DNA ladder) caused by apoptosis. We found that MCLR and MCRR can induce lymphocyte apoptosis in a dose- and time-dependent manner with flow cytometry analysis. Our study provides the first evidence that microcystins can induce fish lymphocytes apoptosis and may impair fish immune function.

Abstract:Cyanobacterial blooms pose a serious threat to the survival of fish because of the hepatotoxicity of microcystins produced by toxic cyanobacteria such as Microcystis. Many studies have investigated the hepatotoxicity of microcystins in common carp, a freshwater fish distributed worldwide, but the hepatotoxicity mechanism has not been fully clarified. The present study aimed to investigate the mechanism underlying the hepatic inflammatory response and hepatocyte apoptosis induced by acute microcystin-LR exposure via intraperitoneal injection (71 μg/kg and 119 μg/kg) or gavage (357.08 μg/kg) and chronic exposure to toxic Microcystis blooms. The results of acute exposure revealed that microcystin-LR caused an increase in serum transaminase activity and increased the levels of inflammatory factors and inflammatory mediators, inducing a significant inflammatory response in the liver of common carp. Moreover, biochemical detection revealed that hepatocyte apoptosis occurred in the fish. Moreover, chronic toxic Microcystis exposure also caused hepatic inflammation and subsequent apoptosis mediated by the tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) pathway and the mitochondrial pathway similar to acute exposure. Therefore, our study suggests that the inflammatory response induced by microcystin-LR exacerbates apoptosis, likely mediated by TNF-α. In summary, both acute microcystin-LR exposure and chronic toxic Microcystis exposure can cause inflammation in the liver of common carp, which subsequently triggers hepatocyte apoptosis mediated by the TNF-α pathway and the mitochondrial pathway. This study helps elucidate the mechanism of liver damage induced by cyanobacterial blooms in natural water.
Oxidative Stress Responses of Grass Carp Ctenopharyngodon Idella Larvae Exposed to Purified Microcystin under Different Ammonia Concentrations

Abstract:During anaerobic degradation of Microcystis spp. blooms, the cell walls burst, releasing the toxins into the water, such as ammonia and microcystin. The released toxins could then come into contact with a wide range of aquatic organisms and can be responsible for the toxic effects observed in many organisms. To assess the responses of oxidative stress to a combination of ammonia and microcystin in larval fish, 11-day-old larvae of grass carp Ctenopharyngodon idella were exposed to solutions with different concentrations of ammonia (NH(3)-N) and microcystin-LR (MC-LR). Results showed that NH(3)-N and MC-LR had significant effects on catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione (GSH), and malondialdehyde (MDA), and significant interactions were detected between NH(3)-N and MC-LR, suggesting that oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation occurred in grass carp larvae exposed to a combination of ammonia and microcystin. Furthermore, CAT, SOD, GSH, and MDA fluctuated significantly with time, suggesting that the effects were time-dependent. Above results indicated that grass carp larvae may encounter toxic effects from ammonia and microcystin during the degradation of Microcystis spp. blooms. As CAT, SOD, GSH, and MDA of grass carp larvae are highly sensitive to ammonia and microcystin, they can be used as biomarkers for assessing oxidative stress responses of grass carp larvae to multiple toxins released from senescence and lysis of cyanobacterial blooms.
Time-dependent Oxidative Stress and Histopathological Changes in Cyprinus Carpio L. Exposed to Microcystin-Lr.

Abstract:Microcystins (MCs) are produced by cyanobacteria in aquatic environments and are a potential risk to aquatic organisms. Increasing evidence suggests that oxidative stress may play an important role in the toxicity mechanism of MCs on fish, but most studies were based on relatively high concentrations. In this study, the effect of time-dependent oxidative stress in livers of Cyprinus carpio L. (C. carpio) exposed to 10 μg l−1 of microcystin-LR (MC-LR) for 0–14 days was investigated. MC-LR induced histopathological changes in liver and gills were also assessed after 14 days exposure. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrum was used to directly investigate the reactive oxygen species (ROS) in fish liver and results showed that hydroxyl radical (∙OH) was significantly induced at 0.5 day and then tended to decline with an increase of exposure period. As a response of antioxidant, catalase (CAT) activity increased slightly at first and then decreased with exposure period. A pronounced promotion of glutathione-S-transferase (GST) indicated that the conjugation reaction of MC-LR and GSH occurred. A time-dependent decrease of reduced glutathione (GSH) with an increase of oxidized glutathione (GSSG) level suggested GSH was involved in detoxification of MC-LR in the liver. Oxidative damage was evidenced by the significant increase of malondialdehyde (MDA) level at 2–6 days. After 14 days exposure, a series of pathological changes, like partially dissolved parenchymal architecture, vacuolar degeneration, necrosis, hemorrhage and slight inflammatory cells infiltration in fish liver tissues could be observed. Scanning electron microscopic (SEM) studies showed that dissolved MC-LR could also result in pathological changes like partial broken epithelial cells, deformed taste buds and loose gill filament and lamella in gill tissues. These results suggest that although a restoring response occurred, C. carpio could still be adversely affected by MC-LR at 10 μg l−1.

Abstract:Microcystin-LR (MC-LR) produced by cyanobacteria are potent specific hepatotoxins. So far the pathogenesis of environmental MC-LR toxicity to aquatic organisms has not been fully elucidated. In the present study the accumulation of MC-LR was investigated in various organs/tissues of Cyprinus carpio L. (C. carpio) following exposure to MC-LR for 14d at environmentally relevant concentrations (0.1 to 10μgL−1). Results showed that the presence of MC-LR enhanced toxin accumulation in all investigated organs and the highest accumulation was found in the liver of fish exposed to 5.0μgL−1 of MC-LR. An EPR analysis indicated ·OH intensity in liver was significantly induced at 0.1μgL−1 of MC-LR and then restored when the MC-LR concentration was greater than 0.1μgL−1. After 14-day exposure, MC-LR (1.0–10.0μgL−1 of MC-LR) caused a pronounced promotion of glutathione S-transferase (GST) activity and a depletion of reduced glutathione (GSH) content in fish liver, which indicated that GSH was involved in detoxification of MC-LR and the conjugation reaction of MC-LR and GSH occurred. A mild oxidative damage was evidenced by the accumulation of malondialdehyde (MDA) level at 5.0μgL−1 of MC-LR exposure, but which was restored when the MC-LR concentration was increased to 10.0μgL−1. The responses of antioxidant enzymes and the induction of HSP70 expression might contribute to MC-LR tolerance of C. carpio. However, the protein phosphatase (PP) activities were strikingly inhibited in all treated groups. Thus, the overall toxicity of environmental MC-LR on C. carpio seems to be initiated in the liver via both the ROS pathway and the PP inhibition pathway, and the latter might be more important when ambient MC-LR concentration is greater than 0.1μgL−1. More importantly, these results can help to support the evaluation on the potential effects of MC-LR under common environmental concentrations.

Abstract:Chlorpyrifos (CPF) has become a mainly pollution in water environment. Micro-RNAs (miRNAs) play an important part in the development of apoptosis and autophagy. However, the potential mechanism of CPF induced kidney toxicity and the roles of miRNAs are still unclear. To explore the underlying mechanism, the kidney of common carp exposed to different concentrations of CPF for 40 days was used as a research object. We found that CPF could damage the ultrastructure and function of kidney; and also caused antioxidant system disorder. CPF inhibited the mRNA level of miR-19a which improved AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). Furthermore, the detection of apoptosis and autophagy relative genes showed that the expressions of TSC complex subunit 2 (TSC2), light chain 3 (LC3), Dynein, tumor protein 53 (p53), Bcl-2 associated X protein (Bax), caspase-3 and caspase-9 were enhanced and the expressions of nechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR), Ras homolog mTORC1 binding (Rheb) and B-cell lymphoma (Bcl-2) were reduced in dose-dependent way. Taken together, we conclude that CPF causes oxidative stress and miR-19a-AMPK axis disorder, thereby promotes apoptosis and autophagy in common carp kidney. Our study will provide theoretical basis for toxicology research and environmental protection of CPF.

Abstract:Microcystin produced by cyanobacteria in diverse water systems is a potent hepatotoxin that has been documented to induce hepatocyte apoptosis and liver injury. There are more than eighty reported microcystins. The present work aimed at investigating the apoptotic effect of MC-RR (a common member of microcystin family), and its related mechanism. MC-RR was administered orally to ICR mice for 7 days with different dosages. Apoptotic cell death in liver was detected by TUNEL assay, and the expression levels of Bcl-2, Bax and p53, GRP 78 and CHOP which have been reported to be related to apoptosis and ER stress were determined via western-blot. The activity of PP2A was measured using the serine-threonine phosphatase assay system and PP2A A subunit expression at both transcription and protein levels was measured by RT-PCR and western blot, respectively. A significant difference was observed on the number of TUNEL positive liver cells between the control and MC-RR-treated groups. The expression levels of Bcl-2, Bax, p53, and GRP 78 in MC-RR-treated groups were altered significantly compared to the control, but no obvious alteration was found in CHOP expression. The PP2A activity and A subunit expression did not manifest any obvious change at both transcription and protein levels. The results indicated that oral exposure to MC-RR can cause apoptosis as well as moderate ER stress in mice liver. The mitochondrial pathway via Bcl-2 family members may contribute to the apoptosis. The role of GSH in microcystin‐induced apoptosis in rat liver: Involvement of oxidative stress and NF‐κB

Abstract:Microcystins (MCs) are potent and specific hepatotoxins produced by cyanobacteria in eutrophic waters, representing a health hazard to animals and humans. The objectives of this study are to determine the relationship between oxidative stress and NF‐κB activity in MC‐induced apoptosis in rat liver and the role of glutathione (GSH). Sprague‐Dawley rats were intraperitoneally (i.p.) injected with microcystin‐LR (MC‐LR) at 0.25 and 0.5 LD50 with or without pretreatment of buthionine‐(S,R)‐sulfoximine (BSO), a specific GSH synthesis inhibitor. MC‐LR induced time‐dependent alterations of GSH levels in rat liver. Increased malondialdehyde (MDA) and significant changes of antioxidant enzymes including GSH peroxidase (GPX) and GSH reductase (GR) were also observed, particularly at 24 h post‐exposure. The results indicated that acute exposure to MC‐LR induced oxidative stress, and GSH depletion (BSO pretreatment) enhanced the level of oxidative stress. Furthermore, the modulation of pro‐apoptotic gene p53 and Bax and anti‐apoptotic gene Bcl‐2 was observed in 0.5 LD50 group at 24 h, and the alteration was more pronounced by BSO injection before MC‐LR treatment, suggesting that GSH played a protective role against MC‐induced toxicity. Additionally, electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) showed that NF‐κB was induced at 0.25 LD50 but inhibited at 0.5 LD50. The above results indicated that the possible crosstalk of oxidative stress and NF‐κB activity was associated with MC‐LR‐induced hepatocytes apoptosis in vivo. Abstract:This paper will discuss the teaching-learning process used in the Patient-Focused Care Course at a major teaching hospital in Canada that is transforming nursing practice from a provider driven to a patient-focused approach. The experiential and reflective nature of the course offers opportunities for nurses to link theory with practice, to think critically and reflectively about their own values and beliefs and to translate that meaning into practice. The learning process reflects principles of adult learning based on Knowles andragogical model which differs from the traditional pedagogical model of teaching. The essence of andragogy is a constant unfolding process of discovery based on dialogue. Utilization of adult learning principles that support critical thinking and foster transformational change present an alternative to traditional ways of teaching and learning the art and science of nursing practice.
Bioaccumulation of microcystin and antioxidative response in Carassius auratus L

Abstract:In order to investigate the bioaccumulation of microcystins(MCs) in Carassius auratus L., the level of MCs in liver, muscle and water was monitored by LC/MS at different time after exposure. The results indicated that the level of MC-RR and MC-LR was the highest in muscle on the 18th day after exposure, with each amount of 7.87 ng/g and 2.18 ng/g, and reached the peak in liver on the 9th day with the amount of 25.30 ng/g and 33.27 ng/g respectively. The results showed that the bioaccumulation of MCs is prone to occur in liver than in muscle. The level of MC-LR was higher than MC-RR in liver, and the MC-RR was prone to accumulate in muscle. The oxidative stress of fish mediated by MCs was also evaluated by analyzing the activities of several antioxidases such as superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), Glutathione-S-transferase (GST) and glutathione reductase (GR). The activities of these antioxidases in liver and muscle were measured after exposing to MCs after 3, 9 and 18 days. It was demonstrated that the level of MCs was basically positive-correlated to the activity of antioxidase, which probably released the oxidative stress mediated by MCs. Overall, fish can accumulate microcystins and make respose to the toxicity with antioxidative system, but can not degrade the MCs completely. So it should be noted that people with whose diets contain the fish exposed to MCs, would potentially suffer the health threaten.
