Abstract:Fractional calculus is a branch of mathematics that extends the traditional definitions of calculus to include non-integer exponents. It has been successfully used to model a variety of physical processes, including the coiling of polymers, viscoelasticity, traffic flow, diffusive transport, fluid dynamics, electromagnetic theory, and electrical networks. However, fractional calculus has not yet been widely used to study the physical properties of non-Newtonian fluids flowing over accelerating porous plates. The present research examines the unsteady Casson flow over an infinitely horizontal porous plate, MHD and porosity impacts on fluid velocity are also discussed. The major goal here is to develop analytical outcomes for the tran-sient incompressible MHD Casson flow over an accelerating porous plate. This plate is oscillating in the x-direction and infinitely large in the y-direction and fluids flowing over it at y > 0 due to oscillation. Choosing the right choice of dimensionless variables allows the model's governing equations to become dimensionless. These dimensionless differential equations of the Casson fluid are calculated by applying the Laplace transform method. On velocity, the impacts of different factors are investigated. They are time, porosity parameter, oscillation frequency of plate, magnetic parameter, and Casson fluid parameter. As we rise the Casson flow parameter values, magnetic parameter, and Prandtl number we observe that the velocity drops. In contrast to other factors, the effects of Grashof number, oscillation frequency, fractional parameter, and porosity on the velocity profile are reversed. Using Mathcad software, graphs are sketched for various values of these parameters and are thoroughly described. The fluid properties discovered signif-icant findings and disclosed several characteristics for a range of flow parameters and fractional parameter values. Increasing the values of fractional parameters is shown to improve the characteristics of fluids, and this is beneficial in fitting experimental data related to heating and cooling processes, particularly in electronic equipment.

Abstract:This paper aims to simulate and examine the unstable squeezed circulation of fractional-order (FO) magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Casson fluid via a permeable medium. The Casson fluid system performs an essential role in comprehending the characteristics of non-Newtonian fluids, including toothpaste, condiments, printing substances and plasma circulation. The outcomes of this investigation are significant because previous research has not addressed the unsteady circulation of Casson fluid in a fractional nonsingular kernel and neural network-based stochastic context, considering the indicated consequences. An exceptionally dynamic ordinary differential equation is produced by using fractional calculus in combination with similarity transforms. After that, the predicted problem is addressed employing an amalgam of the Laplace transform in the Caputo-Fabrizio, modified Atangana-Baleanu-Caputo fractional derivatives operators, and the -homotopy analysis transform method, accompanied by no-slip boundary requirements. The responses and oversights at various points in the FOs are scrutinized, along with previous findings, in order to ensure reliability. In terms of precision, -HATM findings outperform other outcomes that are accessible in research. The focus of this research is on the influence of FOs on the velocity distribution, skin friction coefficient (SFC) and practices of relevant fluid factors. To find out how relevant fluid components affect the velocity distribution and SFC, an extensive, qualitative and visual evaluation is carried out. It was discovered through evaluation that the FO shows an analogous impact for both positive and negative squeezing numbers. Additionally, as the FO increases, SFC reduces. Analysis revealed that the FO exhibits a similar effect with regard to positive and negative compression numbers. Furthermore, SFC decreases with increasing FOs. Additionally, a highly effective stochastic method employing artificial neural networks (ANNs) and a back-propagated Levenberg-Marquardt (BPLM) procedure is generated to explore the effect of different parameter modifications on the SFC, velocity distribution, as well as various fluid factors. Multiple effectiveness measures were developed according to mean absolute deviations (MAD), erroneous Nash-Sutcliffe effectiveness (ENSE), and Theil's inequity coefficient (TIC) in order to verify the preciseness, productivity, and computing cost of the ANN-BPLM algorithms. The outlined scheme's analytical findings are verified through comparison using numerical outcomes obtained through the -HATM, artificial intelligence strategies like NARX-LM, and the least squares methodology (LSM). The outcomes indicate the resilience and accuracy of the layout procedure by demonstrating that the average percentage of errors in our proposed outcomes in terms of ENSE, TIC, and MAD is nearly zero.

Abstract:The current study focuses on investigating the solutions of the mathematical model in the form of special functions. The phenomenon is described by a set of partial differential equations, which are then transformed into non-dimensional form. In order to improve the rheology of the Casson fluid, a fractional model is developed by using a new fractional operator Constant Proportional Caputo (CPC) approach to investigate and formulate the dynamics of Casson fluid flow and heat transfer phenomena subjected to ramped wall temperature. The fluid flow is elaborated near an infinitely vertical plate with characteristics velocity . We began by introducing appropriate variables to transform the mathematical model into non-dimensional form. Laplace transformation operator applied to gain the solution from fractional model, then obtained results expressed in the form of well-known special functions. The influence of various pertinent parameters involving in the solution was carefully examined to unveil intriguing findings. Upon comparison, we observed that the CPC approach yielded better results, after comparison with classical models documented in the literature, with graphical representations provided to illustrate these outcomes. To comprehensively analyze the dynamics of the proposed problem, physical influence of various parameters is studied and repercussions are graphically highlighted and discussed. Additionally, we derived results in a limiting sense, including Casson and viscous fluid models transitioning from the classical form to the fractionalized fluid model.

Abstract:Abstract It has been demonstrated that fractional derivatives exhibit a range of solutions that are helpful in the engineering, medical, and manufacturing sciences. Particularly in analytical research, investigations on using fractional derivatives in fluid flow are still in their infancy. Therefore, it is still being determined whether fractional derivatives may be represented geometrically in the mechanics of the flow of fluids. However, theoretical research will be helpful in supporting upcoming experimental research. Therefore, the aim of this study is to showcase an application of Caputo–Fabrizio toward the Casson fluid flowing in an unsteady boundary layer. Mass diffusion and heat radiation are taken into account while analyzing the PDEs that governed the problem. Dimensionless governing equations are formed from the fractional PDEs by utilizing the necessary dimensionless variables. Once the equations have been transformed into linear ODEs, the solution may then be found by applying the Laplace transform technique. Inverting Laplace transforms by Stehfest’s and Tzou’s Algorithm is then used to retrieve the original variables and the solutions as concentration, temperature, and velocity fields. Graphical illustrations sketched using the Mathcad program are used to show how physical parameters affect temperature, velocity, and concentration profiles. Findings show that the velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles have been improved by thermal radiation, mass diffusion, and fractional parameters. The fractional derivative is a more general derivative due to its nonlocal and flexible nature the flow model that is formulated by applying the fractional derivative is suitable to address the memory effect. The present fractionalized results of velocity, concentration, and temperature are more general and applicable to the wide range of orders of fractional derivatives.

Abstract:Abstract The primary objective of this research is to extend the concept of fractionalized Casson fluid flow. In this study, a comprehensive analysis of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) natural convective flow of Casson fluid is conducted, focusing on obtaining analytical solutions using the non-integer-order derivative known as the Yang–Abdel-Aty–Cattani (YAC) operator. The YAC operator utilized in this research possesses a more generalized exponential kernel. The fluid flow is examined in the vicinity of an infinitely vertical plate with a characteristic velocity denoted as u 0 . The mathematical modelling of the problem incorporates partial differential equations, incorporating Newtonian heating and ramped conditions. To facilitate the analysis, a suitable set of variables is introduced to transform the governing equations into a dimensionless form. The Laplace transform (LT) is then applied to the fractional system of equations, and the obtained results are presented in series form and also expressed in terms of special functions. The study further investigates the influence of relevant parameters, such as α , β , P r , Q, G r , M , N r and K , on the fluid flow to reveal interesting findings. A comparison of different approaches reveals that the YAC method yields superior results compared to existing operators found in the literature. Graphs are generated to illustrate the outcomes effectively. Additionally, the research explores the limiting cases of the Casson and viscous fluid models to derive the classical form from the YAC fractionalized Casson fluid model.

Abstract:Casson fluid flow has numerous functional applications in food processing, metallurgy, drilling and bio-engineering operations. The significance of Casson fluid in cylindrical coordinates has recently attracted researchers because of the numerical and experimental analyses of the fluid. Due to the lack of fractional analytical approaches, this paper is trying to examine the magnetic effect and thermal effect on Casson fluid with oscillatory boundary conditions in cylindrical coordinates. The constitutive model of Casson fluid is solved by using the Caputo–Fabrizio time fractional derivative approach. The fluid moves in the vertical oscillating cylinder under the influence of a transverse applied magnetic field. Closed-form solutions are obtained via integral transforms (Laplace and Hankel transformations) for velocity and temperature distributions. Graphical results are shown for various physical parameters such as the Casson fluid parameter (eta ), magnetic parameter M, Grashoff number Gr, Prandtl number Pr and fractional parameter (alpha ). The corresponding expressions for Nusselt number are also evaluated for various embedded parameters in a tabular form.

Abstract:The study of ramped condition in the context of unsteady incompressible magnetohydrodynamic Casson fluid flow over a moving vertical plate is a complex and important topic in fluid dynamics and heat transfer. This scenario combines several physical phenomena and has practical applications in various engineering and scientific fields. In this study, Casson fluid is considered unsteady under the influence of magnetic field. The fractional mathematical model is proposed by considering the effect of chemical reaction parameter of the flowing fluid. The governing equations are transformed into the dimensionless form and developed fractional models like Caputo-Fabrizio and Atangana-Baleanu Derivative. We used the Laplace transform technique to find the solution of the dimensionless governing equation analytically. The transformed solutions for velocity, energy and momentum balances developed in terms of series. MATHCAD software is being used for numerical computations and the physical attributes of material and fractional parameters are discussed. To analyze their behavior clearly, two-dimensional graphical results are plotted for velocity profile and temperature as well. It has been concluded that the fluid's velocity are reduced for larger values of the fractional parameter and Prandtl number and is maximum for small values of both parameters. Further, the velocity behavior becomes larger for isothermal condition as compared to ramped conditions.

Abstract:Fractional order derivatives are recognized as advanced mathematical tools with broad applications in physics and engineering for deriving real-world solutions. This study examines a fractional order model of a non-linear Casson fluid, highlighting the widespread utility of fractional derivatives. Additionally, the problem incorporates the Dufour and slip effects. Specifically, the constant proportional Caputo fractional model is formulated using generalized Fick's and Fourier's laws. Initially, the governing equations are transformed into a non-dimensional form and subsequently solved using the Laplace transform. Analysis of the figures indicates that the Casson parameter reduces fluid motion, while the diffusion thermo effect enhances it. Furthermore, the study includes a comparison between fractionalized and ordinary velocity fields. Highlight:

Abstract:In this article, we consider the effects of double diffusion on magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) Carreau fluid flow through a porous medium along a stretching sheet. Variable thermal conductivity and suction/injection parameter effects are also taken into the consideration. Similarity transformations are utilized to transform the equations governing the Carreau fluid flow model to dimensionless non-linear ordinary differential equations. Maple software is utilized for the numerical solution. These solutions are then presented through graphs. The velocity, concentration, temperature profile, skin friction coefficient, and the Nusselt and Sherwood numbers under the impact of different parameters are studied. The fluid flow is analyzed for both suction and injection cases. From the analysis carried out, it is observed that the velocity profile reduces by increasing the porosity parameter while it enhances both the temperature and concentration profile. The temperature field enhances with increasing the variable thermal conductivity and the Nusselt number exhibits opposite behavior.

Abstract:In this paper, the application of Caputo fractional derivative on unsteady boundary layer Casson fluid flow in a microchannel is studied. The partial differential equations which governed the problem are considered with the presence of thermal radiation. The fractional partial differential equations are transformed into dimensionless governing equations using appropriate dimensionless variables. It is then solved analytically using the Laplace transform technique which transforms the equations into linear ordinary differential equations. These transformed equations are then solved using the appropriate method, and the inverse Laplace transform technique is applied to obtain the solution in form of velocity and temperature profiles. Graphical illustrations are acquired using Mathcad software and the influence of important physical parameters on velocity and temperature profiles are analyzed. Results show that thermal radiation and fractional parameter have enhanced the velocity and temperature profiles.

Numerical Heat Transfer Part A Applications

Abstract:The current work is focused on the analysis of heat and mass transfer in a magnetohydrodynamics Jeffrey nanofluid flows across a vertical plate because of these possible uses. Free convection, magnetic effect, and thermo-diffusion properties are all applied to the flow considered here. The modeling also takes into account the passive and active control of the Jeffrey nanofluid. The constant proportional Caputo fractional operator which was recently introduced is used in this work together with generalized Fick's and Fourier's law. Using suitable nondimensional variables, ordinary differential equations are obtained from the modeling equations, and the Laplace transform method is used to solve these modeled equations. The concentration and temperature profiles are rising functions of the fractional and thermophoresis parameters, and they drop more quickly as the values of the Schmidt, Prandtl, and Nb (Brownian motion parameters) rise. The constant proportional Caputo (CPC) fractional derivative is the best choice for achieving more stable concentration, temperature, and velocity than conventional fields. Raising the values of α will increase the rate of heat transfer and skin friction coefficient. Additionally, as compared to the classical model, the constant proportional Caputo derivative model shows more decay nature. Consequently, compared to the classical model, the constant proportional Caputo differential model has a superior memory function.

Abstract:In this article, we investigated the flow of a magnetohydrodynamic Casson fluid across an extending surface with exponential permeability in a double-stratified medium. Thermal radiation, suction, heat sources, viscous dissipation, and chemical reactions drive the stream field. We converted the flow describing partial differential equations into terms of ordinary differential equations by applying appropriate transformations. Next, we utilised the bvp4c package in Matlab to obtain numerical solutions for these equations. We explored and graphically showed the implications of different non-dimensional governing parameters for temperature, concentration, and velocity profiles. After analysis, we provide a tabular presentation of the friction factor, Nusselt, and Sherwood numbers. The Casson fluid temperature shows a rising trend for the solutal stratification parameter and a decreasing trend for the thermal stratification parameter, while the Casson fluid velocity shows a declining trend towards both of these parameters. The Casson fluid concentration also behaves differently depending on the stratification parameter; for example, it increases for thermal stratification and decreases for solutal stratification. We notice that an increase in the Casson parameter's value suppresses the velocity field. However, as the Casson parameter increases, both the temperature and the concentration improve. Furthermore, comparisons with previously published findings also support the current results. \sethlcolor{yellow}\hl{The study of MHD Casson fluid flow that includes suction, dual stratification, and the effects of heat and mass transfer is very useful in many areas, such as polymer processing, metallurgical engineering, biomedical applications, environmental sciences, and advanced cooling technologies.

Abstract:This research paper examines the characteristics of a two-dimensional steady flow involving an incompressible viscous Casson fluid past an elastic surface that is both permeable and convectively heated, with the added feature of slip velocity. In contrast to Darcy's Law, the current model incorporates the use of Forchheimer's Law, which accounts for the non-linear resistance that becomes significant at higher flow velocities. The accomplishments of this study hold significant relevance, both in terms of theoretical advancements in mathematical modeling of Casson fluid flow with heat mass transfer in engineering systems, as well as in the context of practical engineering cooling applications. The study takes into account the collective influences of magnetic field, suction mechanism, convective heating, heat generation, viscous dissipation, and chemical reactions. The research incorporates the consideration of fluid properties that vary with respect to temperature or concentration, and solves the governing equations by employing similarity transformations and the shooting approach. The heat transfer process is significantly affected by the presence of heat generation and viscous dissipation. Furthermore, the study illustrates and presents the impact of various physical factors on the dimensionless temperature, velocity, and concentration. From an engineering perspective, the local Nusselt number, the skin friction, and local Sherwood number are also depicted and provided in graphical and tabular formats. In the domains of energy engineering and thermal management in particular, these results have practical relevance in improving our understanding of heat transmission in similar settings. Finally, the thorough comparison analysis reveals a significant level of alignment with the outcomes of the earlier investigations, thus validating the reliability and effectiveness of our obtained results.

Abstract:The investigations on the flow of non-Newtonian fluids are becoming one of the major topics in the research field. These liquids have substantial applications in industrial and engineering fields such as drilling rigs, food processing, paint and adhesives, nuclear reactors and cooling systems. On the other hand, hybrid nanofluids play a major role in the heat transfer process. Keeping this in mind, the motion of Casson hybrid nanofluid squeezing flow between two parallel plates with the effect of heat source and thermophoretic particle deposition is examined here. The partial differential equations that govern fluid flow are converted into ordinary differential equations using appropriate similarity variables and those equations are numerically solved using the Runge–Kutta–Fehlberg fourth–fifth-order method by implementing the shooting scheme. The graphs depict the effects of a number of key parameters on fluid profiles in the absence and presence of the Casson parameter. These graphs show that fluid velocity enhances with the augmentation of the local porosity parameter. Thermal dispersal upsurges for enhancement of heat source/sink parameter and the concentration profile escalates for an upsurge of the thermophoretic parameter. Skin friction enhances with enhancement in the local porosity parameter.

Abstract:It is vitally critical to understand the dynamics of the non-Newtonian fluids model from an engineering and industrial perspective. Many industrial and technical activities, such as the extrusion of polymer sheets, the manufacturing of paper, and the development of photographic films, require non-Newtonian fluids. Energy transportation has numerous industrial applications, and Classical heat and mass transfer laws do not accurately anticipate thermal and solute relaxation times. This study applies the modified Ohm law to heat and mass transport, utilizing Fick's and generalized Fourier concepts. And the primary purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of heat and mass transport in the MHD mixed convective flow involving a micropolar Casson fluid across the vertically inclined starching surface with multiple slip effects. Moreover, the study considers additional factors like thermal radiation, heat generation, chemical reactions, and the influence of thermophoretic to analyze both energy and nanoparticle concentration aspects comprehensively. To simplify the flow analysis, the original flow model is transformed into a couple of ODEs (ordinary differential equations) by employing relevant similarity transformations. These ODEs establish a system that is solved numerically by using the Bvp4c solver through MATLAB. It is worth noticing that a more substantial estimation of the thermal and concentration relaxation parameters decays the fluid temperature and nanoparticle concentration, respectively, and the growth of the material parameter reduces the drag force, which consequently augmenting the fluid velocity. Furthermore, the enhancement occurs in the skin friction due to greater estimation of the micropolar parameter, while the Casson fluid parameter causes the opposite trend.

Abstract:This research offers a thorough examination of thermal transmission within the context of the squeezing flow of a Casson fluid that is confined within two circular plates aligned in parallel. The development of a feasible mathematical framework involves combining the principles of conservation with appropriate similarity transformations. The resulting framework generates a couple of strongly non-linear ordinary differential equations. To tackle these equations, established analytical methods like the (HPM) and its variation, the Least Square Homotopy Perturbation Method (LSHPM), are employed. Additionally, for the validation of the analytical findings, a numerical approach using the BVP5C technique is utilized. A comparative evaluation reveals that the LSHPM consistently provides results of exceptional accuracy compared to the traditional HPM. The investigation delves into observing how the flow performs when experiencing diverse variations in physical attributes, elucidating the complexities through comprehensive visual representations. It is worth noting that the presented problem is subject to specific parameter limitations, which are extensively discussed and taken into account throughout the study. The investigation encompasses a thorough analysis across a range of parameters, including the squeeze number, the Casson fluid parameter, the Prandtl number, the Eckert number and. Notably, an acceleration in the rate of motion is observed concerning the squeeze number and the Casson fluid parameter. In terms of the temperature profile, it is revealed that this profile demonstrates a decreasing trend in relation to both the squeeze number and the Casson fluid parameter. Conversely, it displays an increasing trend with respect to the Prandtl number and the Eckert number.

Abstract:This current study provides a comprehensive examination of a novel method for studying the dynamics of a fractionalized Maxwell flow near an inclined plate, considering non-uniform mass transfer through a permeable media. Through the use of partial differential equations, incorporating heat and mass movement effects, the study employs a combination of generalized Fick's and Fourier's law with the Caputo operator. Transforming the fractionalized model into dimensionless form using appropriate dimensionless values, semi-analytical solutions for the non-dimensional transmitted fractional model are obtained via the Laplace transformation method. Through graphical analysis, the precise contributions of key parameters such as heat generation, radiation, and chemical reactions are elucidated, including their impacts on the calculated heat generation parameter (Qo), radiation parameter (Nr), and others. The study's significance lies in its implications for the design of efficient heat exchangers, fluid flow systems, and cooling components in complex engineering systems, including nuclear reactors and power generation plants. Furthermore, the fractional derivative approach offers a more accurate representation of the viscoelastic behavior of materials like polymers, crucial for optimizing fabrication processes such as extrusion and molding. The insights gained from this study extend to the realm of miniaturized fluidic devices, including bio-analysis tools, lab-on-a-chip technology, and microfluidic drug delivery systems, where improved performance and control need a grasp of Maxwell fluid dynamics. The physical outcome of this research lays the groundwork for future investigations that will maximize heat transfer efficiency in real-world systems and give insightful information on the behavior of complicated fluids. We compute and display the skin friction, mass and heat transfer rate in tabular form.

Abstract:A Casson fluid is the most suitable rheological model for blood and other non-Newtonian fluids. Casson fluids hold yield-stress and have great significance in biomechanics and polymer industries. In this analysis, a numerical simulation of non-coaxial rotation of a Casson fluid over a circular disc was estimated. The influence of thermal radiation, second-order chemical reactions, buoyancy, and heat source on a Casson fluid above a rotating frame was studied. The time evolution of secondary and primary velocities, solute particles, and energy contours were also examined. A magnetic flux of varying intensity was applied to the fluid flow. A nonlinear sequence of partial differential equations was used to describe the phenomenon. The modeled equations were reduced to a non-dimensional set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) using similarity replacement. The obtained sets of ODEs were further simulated using the parametric continuation method (PCM). The impact of physical constraints on energy, concentration, and velocity profiles are presented through figures and tables. It should be noted that the effect of the Casson fluid coefficient, the Grashof number, and the magnetic field reduces the fluid's primary velocity contour. The mass transfer field decreases with the action of constructive chemical reactions, but is augmented by the effects of destructive chemical reactions. The accelerating trend in Schmidt number lowers the mass profile, while it is enhanced by increasing values of activation energy and Soret number.

Abstract:<p>The two-dimensional unsteady radiative stagnation point flow of a Casson fluid is considered across a permeable stretching surface subject to a non-uniform heat source. Furthermore, the association of wall suction and aligned magnetic field have been examined with the slip velocity. These condition leads to the mathematical model of the nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs), which are initially changed to the dimensionless ordinary differential equations (ODEs) with the use of similarity transformations. The MATLAB function bvp4c was used to resolve the subsequent nonlinear ODEs and the solution has been estimated in terms of temperature, friction drag, Nusselt number and velocity of fluid which are determined under the influence of smallest suitable values of the relevant flow parameters. It appears that the friction drag escalates with the strength of suction, Casson parameter and magnetic field, while the Nusselt number decays with the escalation of Eckert number, however it improves with the higher values of the radiation and suction parameter. Additionally, the flow velocity decreases with the rising values of porosity parameter and inclination angle however it enhances with the boosting values of slip parameter. The temperature profile correspondingly enhances with the rising values of radiation parameter, Boit number, and Ecker number.</p>
