Abstract:In this paper, we computed the first three coefficients of the asymptotic expansion of Zelditch. We also proved that in general, the $k$-th coefficient is a polynomial of the curvature and its derivative of weight $k$.

Abstract:We establish the asymptotic expansion of certain integrals of [Formula: see text] classes on moduli spaces of curves [Formula: see text], when either the [Formula: see text] or [Formula: see text] goes to infinity. Our main tools are cut-join type recursion formulae from the Witten–Kontsevich theorem, as well as asymptotics of solutions to the first Painlevé equation. We also raise a conjecture on large genus asymptotics for [Formula: see text]-point functions of [Formula: see text] classes and partially verify the positivity of coefficients in generalized Mirzakhani’s formula of higher Weil–Petersson volumes.

Abstract:Utilizing inverse Mellin transform of the symmetric square $L$-function attached to Ramanujan tau function, Hafner and Stopple proved a conjecture of Zagier, which states that the constant term of the automorphic function $y^{12}|\Delta(z)|^2$ i.e., the Lambert series $y^{12}\sum_{n=1}^\infty \tau(n)^2 e^{-4 \pi n y}$ can be expressed in terms of the non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function. This study examines certain Lambert series associated to Siegel cusp forms of degree $n$ twisted by a character $\chi$ and observes a similar phenomenon.

Simplified uniform asymptotic expansions for associated Legendre and conical functions

Abstract:Asymptotic expansions are derived for associated Legendre functions of degree $\nu$ and order $\mu$, where one or the other of the parameters is large. The expansions are are uniformly valid for unbounded real and complex values of the argument $z$, including the singularity $z=1$. The cases where $\nu+\frac12$ and $\mu$ are real or purely imaginary are included, which covers conical functions. The approximations involve either exponential or modified Bessel functions, along with slowly varying coefficient functions. The coefficients of the new asymptotic expansions are simple and readily obtained explicitly, allowing computation to a high degree of accuracy. The results are constructed and rigorously established by employing certain Liouville-Green type expansions where the coefficients appear in the exponent of an exponential function.

Abstract:The degree of convexity of a convex polyomino P is the smallest integer k such that any two cells of P can be joined by a monotone path inside P with at most k changes of direction. In this paper we show that one can compute in polynomial time the number of polyominoes of area n and degree of convexity at most 2 (the so-called Z-convex polyominoes). The integer sequence that we have computed allows us to conjecture the asymptotic number a n of Z-convex polyominoes of area n, ɑ n ∼ C·exp(π)√11 n/4⁄ n 3/2.

Abstract:In this note, we give a detailed proof of an asymptotic for averages of coefficients of a class of degree three $L$-functions which can be factorized as a product of a degree one and a degree two $L$-functions. We emphasize that we can break the $1/2$-barrier in the error term, and we get an explicit exponent.

Asymptotics of quantized barycenters of lattice polytopes with applications to algebraic geometry

Abstract:This article addresses a combinatorial problem with applications to algebraic geometry. To a convex lattice polytope $P$ and each of its integer dilations $kP$ one may associate the barycenter of its lattice points. This sequence of $k$-quantized barycenters converge to the (classical) barycenter of the polytope considered as a convex body. A basic question arises: is there a complete asymptotic expansion for this sequence? If so, what are its terms? This article initiates the study of this question. First, we establish the existence of such an expansion as well as determine the first two terms. Second, for Delzant lattice polytopes we use toric algebra to determine all terms using mixed volumes of virtual rooftop polytopes, or alternatively in terms of higher Donaldson--Futaki invariants. Third, for reflexive polytopes we show the quantized barycenters are colinear to first order, and actually colinear in the case of polygons. The proofs use Ehrhart theory, convexity arguments, and toric algebra. As applications we derive the complete asymptotic expansion of the Fujita--Odaka stability thresholds $\delta_k$ on arbitrary polarizations on (possibly singular) toric varieties. In fact, we show they are rational functions of $k$ for sufficiently large $k$. This gives the first general result on Tian's stabilization problem for $\delta_k$-invariants for (possibly singular) toric Fanos: $\delta_k$ stabilize in $k$ if and only if they are all equal to $1$, and when smooth if and only if asymptotically Chow semistable. We also relate the asymptotic expansions to higher Donaldson--Futaki invariants of test configurations motivated by Ehrhart theory, and unify in passing previous results of Donaldson, Ono, Futaki, and Rubinstein--Tian--Zhang.

Abstract:Fefferman [22] initiated a program of expressing the asymptotic expansion of the boundary singularity of the Bergman kernel for strictly pseudoconvex domains explicitly in terms of boundary invariants. Hirachi, Komatsu and Nakazawa [30] carried out computations of the first few terms of Fefferman's asymptotic expansion building partly on Graham's work on CR invariants and Nakazawa's work on the asymptotic expansion of the Bergman kernel for strictly pseudoconvex complete Reinhardt domains. In this paper, we prove a formula for coefficients in Nakazawa's asymptotic expansion as explicit summations over strongly connected graphs, and a formula expressing partial derivatives of Kahler metrics (resp. functions) as summations over rooted trees encoding covariant derivatives of curvature tensors (resp. functions). These formulae shall be useful in studying general patterns of Fefferman's asymptotic expansion.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain asymptotic formulae on nilmanifolds $\Gamma \backslash G$, wher $G$ is any stratified (or even graded) nilpotent Lie group equipped with a co-compact discrete subgroup $\Gamma$. We study especially the asymptotics related to the sub-Laplacians naturally coming from the stratified structure of the group $G$ (and more generally any positive Rockland operators when $G$ is graded). We show that the short-time asymptotic on the diagonal of the kernels of spectral multipliers contains only a single non-trivial term. We also study the associated zeta functions.

Abstract:We compute the full asymptotic expansion of the heat kernel where D is, assuming RH, the self-adjoint operator whose spectrum is formed of the imaginary parts of non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function. The coefficients of the expansion are explicit expressions involving Bernoulli and Euler numbers. We relate the divergent terms with the heat kernel expansion of the Dirac square root of the prolate wave operator investigated in our joint work with Henri Moscovici.

Abstract:We derive asymptotic estimates for the coefficient of $z^{k}$ in $\left( f\left( z\right) \right) ^{n}$ when $n\rightarrow \infty $ and $k$ is of order $n^{\delta }$, where $0<\delta <1,$ and $f\left( z\right) $ is a power series satisfying suitable positivity conditions and with $f\left( 0\right) \neq 0,$ $f^{\prime }\left( 0\right) =0.$ We also show that there is a positive number $\varepsilon <1$ (easily computed from the pattern of non-zero coefficients of $f\left( z\right) $) such that the same coefficient is positive for large $n$ and $\varepsilon <\delta <1$, and admits an asymptotic expansion in inverse powers of $k$. We use the asymptotic estimates to prove that certain finite sums of exponential and trigonometric functions are non-negative, and illustrate the results with examples.

As an application, we then show the holomorphy of Ginzburg–Kaplan's local "tensor product" L -functions for . On the arithmetic inner product formula and central derivatives of L-functions

Abstract:This research provides a formal definition of the arithmetic theta lift for cusp forms of weight $3/2$ and establishes the arithmetic inner product formula, thereby completing the Kudla program on modular curves. This formula is demonstrated to be equivalent to the Gross-Zagier formula, for which we provide a new proof. Additionally, the authors introduce a new arithmetic representation for the central derivatives of L-functions associated with cusp forms of higher weight. Although this representation differs from Zhang's higher weight Gross-Zagier formula, it maintains a significant connection to it. This study also proposes a conjecture indicating that the vanishing of derivatives of L-functions is determined by the algebraicity of the coefficients of harmonic weak Maass forms. A consistent approach is employed to study both parts of this work.

Abstract:We refine a previous work of K. Matsumoto and H. Ishikawa, obtaining an asymptotic formula for the mean square of the product of the Riemann zeta-function and a Dirichlet polynomial in the critical strip (1/4<$\sigma$<1/2), by obtaining an explicit formula of Atkinson type for its error term. This work is closely related to the generalized Dirichlet divisor problem. The form of these formulas is akin to, yet more complex than, Voronoi's formulas in the divisor problem.

Especially, we show that for any fixed $n \in {\mathbb {N}}$ , there exists $a>0$ such that $\lambda _{2n-1,a}> 0$ and $\lambda _{2n,a} < 0$ .

Abstract:Consider an $M$-th order linear differential operator, $M\geq 2$, $$ \mathcal{L}^{(M)}=\sum_{k=0}^{M}\rho_{k}(z)\frac{d^k}{dz^k}, $$ where $\rho_M $ is a monic complex polynomial such that $degree[\rho_M]=M$ and $(\rho_k)_{k=0}^{M-1}$ are complex polynomials such that $degree[ \rho_k ]\leq k, 0\leq k \leq M-1$. It is known that the zero counting measure of its eigenpolynomials converges in the weak star sense to a measure $\mu$. We obtain an asymptotic expansion of the eigenpolynomials of $\mathcal{L}^{(M)}$ in compact subsets out the support of $\mu$. In particular, we solve a conjecture posed in G.~Masson and B.~Shapiro, ``On polynomial eigenfunctions of a hypergeometric type operator,'' Exper. Math., vol.~10, pp.~609--618, 2001.

The Laplace asymptotic expansion in high dimensions

Abstract:We prove that the classical Laplace asymptotic expansion of $\int_{\mathbb R^d} g(x)e^{-nz(x)}dx$, $n\gg1$ extends to the high-dimensional regime in which $d$ may grow large with $n$. We formulate simple conditions on the growth of the derivatives of $g$ and $z$ near the minimizer of $z$ under which the terms of the expansion and the remainder are bounded as powers of $(\tau d/\sqrt n)^2$. The parameter $\tau$ controls the growth rates of the derivatives and can be potentially large, but we obtain a useful expansion whenever $\tau d/\sqrt n\ll 1$. Our result relies on a new and transparent proof of the Laplace expansion valid for any $d$. The proof leads to a new representation of the terms and remainder, which is crucial in obtaining tight control on the growth of these quantities with $d$. To demonstrate that our bounds are tight, we consider the case of a quartic $z$ and $g\equiv1$, showing that the $k$th term is precisely of the order $(d^2/n)^k$ for all $k$, and that our bounds on the terms are of the same order of magnitude. We also apply our results to derive a high-dimensional Laplace expansion for a particular function $z$ arising in the context of Bayesian inference, which is both random and depends on $n$. We show that with high probability, the terms of the expansion and the remainder are bounded in powers of $d^2/n$. In both of these examples, $\tau=1$.

Abstract:We apply Forelli-Rudin construction and Nakazawa's hodograph transformation to prove a graph theoretic closed formula for invariant theoretic coefficients in the asymptotic expansion of the Szego kernel on strictly pseudoconvex complete Reinhardt domains. The formula provides a structural analogy between the asymptotic expansion of the Bergman and Szego kernels. It can be used to effectively compute the first terms of Fefferman's asymptotic expansion in CR invariants. Our method also works for the asymptotic expansion of the Sobolev-Bergman kernel introduced by Hirachi and Komatsu.
