The retraction has been agreed following an investigation based on public allegations, and after the authors asked to correct the article. Several flaws and inconsistencies between results presented and experimental methods described were found, and so the editors consider the conclusions of this article to be invalid.

Abstract:Following the publication of this paper, it was drawn to the Editors' attention by a concerned reader that cell invasion assay data in the article (featured in Fig. 4A) were strikingly similar to data appearing in different form in another article by different authors at different research institutions, which had already been published elsewhere at the time of the present article's submission. Furthermore, flow cytometric data featured in Fig. 2D were strikingly similar to those in another previously published paper, and cell cyle data included in Fig. 3 had apparently previously published elsewhere. Owing to the fact that the contentious data in the above article had already appeared in different form in other articles prior to its submission to<em> Molecular Medicine Reports</em>, the Editor has decided that this paper should be retracted from the Journal. The authors also expressed their intention to retract the paper on the grounds that the corresponding author and several of the authors failed to confirm the approval of the final version of the manuscript. Abstract:The article "BNIP1 inhibits cell proliferation, migration and invasion, and promotes apoptosis by mTOR in cervical cancer cells", by F.-H. Li, L. Xiang, L. Ran, S. Zhou, Z. Huang, M. Chen, W.-F. Yu, published in Eur Rev Med Pharmacol Sci 2019; 23 (4): 1397-1407-DOI: 10.26355/eurrev_201902_17096-PMID: 30840260 has been retracted by the Editor in Chief for the following reasons. Following some concerns raised on PubPeer regarding a possible overlap in Figure 2A, the Editor in Chief has started an investigation to assess the validity of the results as well as possible figure manipulation. The journal investigation revealed a duplication in Figure 2A between BNIP1 panels, migration and invasion, respectively and in Control and invasion panels. Consequently, the Editor in Chief mistrusts the results presented and has decided to withdraw the article. Abstract:We, the Editors and Publisher of the journal Artificial Cells, Nanomedicine, and Biotechnology, have retracted the following article:Tianyi Gao, Xiangxiang Liu, Bangshun He, Yuqin Pan & Shukui Wang (2020) Long non-coding RNA 91H regulates IGF2 expression by interacting with IGF2BP2 and promotes tumorigenesis in colorectal cancer, Artificial Cells, Nanomedicine, and Biotechnology, 48:1, 664-671, DOI: 10.1080/21691401.2020.1727491Since publication, the authors noticed duplication in Figure 1A and 4A. As this error directly impacts the reported results and conclusions the authors alerted the issue to the Editor and Publisher to request correction. The authors acknowledged that they had made mistakes and the Editor and Publisher found there to be fundamental flaws present within the requested corrections, as well as the rest of the paper.
