Abstract:Tyrosine hydroxylase phenotype expression was investigated in the catecholaminergic population of the locus coeruleus neurons of two pure inbred mouse strains, Balb/C and C57Black/6. Therefore, we have characterized the precise organization of tyrosine hydroxylase-expressing perikarya population, in control animals and following RU24722 treatment, which is known to induce tyrosine hydroxylase expression. Serial coronal sections were selected along the caudo-rostral extent of the structure and were processed for tyrosine hydroxylase immunocytochemistry. Three days after the treatment, an increase in the number of cells which expressed tyrosine hydroxylase was observed all along the locus coeruleus in the Balb/C strain only. This increase equalized the catecholaminergic neuron populations of the two strains. In the caudal subdivision of the structure, these newly detected perikarya were intermingled with the perikarya which expressed tyrosine hydroxylase in control conditions. In the rostral half, the additional immunoreactive perikarya enlarged the mean coerulean space, defined as the area delimited by the tyrosine hydroxylase-containing perikarya. These results demonstrate a plasticity of the tyrosine hydroxylase phenotype expression, topologically organized and specific to the Balb/C strain.

Abstract:Adrenaline neurons in human brain were demonstrated by immunohistochemistry using antibody to phenylethanolamine-N-methyltransferase (PNMT), the final enzyme in the pathway of adrenaline synthesis, using fixed frozen sections and a highly sensitive free floating technique which utilizes metallization. Small densely packed PNMT-immunoreactive neurons were observed to form a nucleus lying just ventrolateral to the area postrema and in the dorsal part of the nucleus tractus solitarius. Larger adrenergic neurons were also present in and around the lateral reticular nucleus and in relationship with the dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus in regions equivalent to the C1 and C2 groups in rats. Longitudinally oriented PNMT-positive axons constitute a subset of tyrosine hydroxylase-immunoreactive axons in the dorsomedial reticular formation.

Abstract:The immunohistochemical localization of tyrosine hydroxylase, calbindin D-28K, calretinin, parvalbumin and olfactory marker protein in olfactory bulb of adult Sprague Dawley rat was studied. Tyrosine hydroxylase are mainly found in glomerular layer,few in external plexiform layer. Calbindin D-28K is mainly found in glomerular layer, few in external plexiform layer and internal plexiform layer. Calretinin is found in glomerular layer, external plexiform layer, mitral cell layer, internal plexiform layer and granule cell layer except olfactory nerve layer. Parvalbumin is mostly found in external plexiform layer, some in mitral cell layer, few in glomerular layer. Olfactory marker protein is found only in olfactory nerve layer and glomerular layer. Results are similar to the pioneering research in this field, but some difference exists.
Spatial distribution of synapses on tyrosine hydroxylase-expressing juxtaglomerular cells in the mouse olfactory glomerulus

Abstract:Olfactory sensory axons converge in specific glomeruli where they form excitatory synapses onto dendrites of mitral/tufted (M/T) and juxtaglomerular (JG) cells, including periglomerular (PG), external tufted (ET), and superficial-short axon cells. JG cells consist of heterogeneous subpopulations with different neurochemical, physiological, and morphological properties. Among JG cells, previous electron microscopic (EM) studies have shown that the majority of synaptic inputs to tyrosine hydroxylase (TH)-immunoreactive neurons were asymmetrical synapses from olfactory nerve (ON) terminals. However, recent physiological results revealed that 70% of dopaminergic/γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA)ergic neurons received polysynaptic inputs via ET cells, whereas the remaining 30% received monosynaptic ON inputs. To understand the discrepancies between EM and physiological data, we used serial EM analysis combined with confocal laser scanning microscope images to examine the spatial distribution of synapses on dendrites using mice expressing enhanced green fluorescent protein under the control of the TH promoter. The majority of synaptic inputs to TH-expressing JG cells were from ON terminals, and they preferentially targeted distal dendrites from the soma. On the other hand, the numbers of non-ON inputs were fewer and targeted proximal dendrites. Furthermore, individual TH-expressing JG cells formed serial synapses, such as M/T→TH→another presumed M/T or ON→TH→presumed M/T, but not reciprocal synapses. Serotonergic fibers also associated with somatic regions of TH neurons, displaying non-ON profiles. Thus, fewer proximal non-ON synapses provide more effective inputs than large numbers of distal ON synapses and may occur on the physiologically characterized population of dopaminergic-GABAergic neurons (70%) that receive their most effective inputs indirectly via an ON→ET→TH circuit. Abstract:The intracellular localization of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), which is the rate limiting enzyme in catecholamine (CA) biosynthesis, and its activity in various adrenal and other neuroendocrine tumors was studied. TH was strongly localized in adrenal medulla, pheochromocytoma, and paraganglioma, but was scatteredly expressed in neuroblastoma. TH was not detected in adrenocortical tumors, ganglioneuroma, and other neuroendocrine tumors. Neuron specific enolase (NSE) was found in all neuroendocrine tumors, but Grimelius staining showed only the secreting granules of the tumor cells. TH activity was significantly high in pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma as compared with that in normal adrenal gland, whereas TH activity was low in a neuroblastoma and was undetectable in other tumors. These findings indicate that TH correlates well with the biosynthetic function of CA in the tumor cell and, thus, both the immunostaining of TH and the measurement of its activity in adreno-medullary and related tumors may provide some information about the process of cell differentiation in these tumors.

Abstract:Thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) has a critical role in the central regulation of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) from the anterior pituitary, and subsequently, thyroid hormone secretion from the thyroid gland. In addition to its role in the regulation of HPT axis, TRH is a potent regulator of prolactin (PRL) secretion by stimulating PRL secretion either directly from lactotrophs or indirectly via its action on the tuberoinfundibular dopamine (TIDA) neurons. In rodents, the TRH neurons which regulate TSH and thyroid hormone secretion, called hypophysiotropic TRH neurons, are in the medial subdivision of the parvicellular paraventricular nucleus (PVN). In humans, the PVN also contains a large population of TRH neurons, especially in its medial part, but the location of hypophysiotropic TRH neurons is not yet known. In addition to regulating TSH and PRL secretion, TRH also functions as a neurotransmitter/neuromodulator. In rodents and teleosts, TRH axons densely innervate TIDA neurons to inhibit tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) biosynthesis, neuronal firing, and dopamine turnover which may contribute to increasing PRL secretion. No such connections have been reported in humans, although dopaminergic neurons express TRH receptors and TRH also regulates PRL secretion. The objectives of this study were to map TRH-IR and TH-IR structures in the human hypothalamus with single-label light microscopic immunocytochemistry and study their interaction with double-label light microscopic immunocytochemistry. We show that TRH-IR nerve terminals densely surround TH-IR neurons (perikarya and dendrites) in the infundibulum of the human hypothalamus. The micrographs illustrating these juxtapositions were taken by Olympus BX45 microscope equipped with a digital camera and with 100X oil immersion objective. Composite images were created from the consecutive micrographs if the neurons were larger than the frame of the camera, using Adobe Photoshop software. As no gaps between TRH-IR and TH-IR elements were seen, these contacts may be functional synapses by which TRH regulates the activity of dopaminergic neurons and subsequently TSH and PRL secretion.
Regional and subcellular compartmentation of the dopamine transporter and tyrosine hydroxylase in the rat ventral pallidum

Abstract:The ventral pallidum (VP) is a major intermediary in the prefrontal cortical circuitry regulating sensorimotor gating and locomotor behavior, both of which are potently modulated by catecholamines. The VP catecholaminergic innervation is derived from midbrain dopaminergic neurons that differ in expression levels of the dopamine transporter (DAT) and from brainstem noradrenergic neurons without DAT. The preferentially low level of DAT in dopaminergic terminals in the prefrontal cortex and in striatal regions projecting more extensively to the VP medial (VPm) compared with VP lateral (VPl) compartment suggests possible region-specific differences in VP axonal distribution of DAT. To test this hypothesis, we examined the electron microscopic localization of DAT and the catecholamine-synthesizing enzyme, tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), in the VPm and VPl of rat brain. In both regions, DAT and TH were localized primarily in small unmyelinated axons and morphologically heterogeneous axon terminals. DAT-immunogold particles were few in number, but mostly located on the plasma membrane. In contrast, TH immunoreactivity was distributed in the cytoplasm of individual profiles, many of which were without detectable DAT. In comparison with TH, the mean area density of DAT-labeled axons was low throughout the VP. The mean area density of DAT-immunogold axon terminals, however, was significantly higher in VPl than in VPm, whereas that of TH-labeled axons was higher in VPm than in VPl. This dissociation suggests that, compared to the VPl, the VPm receives the greatest input from catecholaminergic afferents that are either nondopaminergic or characterized by having low levels or less terminal distributions of DAT.
Mouse fibroblast expressing human tyrosinase with DHICA-oxidase activity produces predominantly pheomelanin deposit in lysosome

Abstract:The melanogenic gene-transfected cell system serves as a useful tool for the study of the symphonic relation between melanin synthesis and intracellular organelles such as melanosomes in melanocytes. We constructed melanin-producing mouse fibroblasts by transfection of human tyrosinase cDNA to investigate the intracellular changes caused by tyrosinase expression. DHICA-oxidase (5,6-dihydroxyindole-2-carboxylic acid oxidase) activity without TRP-1 (Tyrosinase Related Protein-1) expression in the cells suggested that human tyrosinase also possesses a DHICA-oxidase activities different from mouse tyrosinase. Electron microscopic observation indicated that melanin-deposit organelles have some lysosomal features. These properties of melanin-deposit organelles in tyrosinase expressing fibroblasts provide one evidence for the hypothesis that melanosome is the specialized lysosome in melanocytes.
Hypocretin/orexin- and melanin-concentrating hormone-expressing cells form distinct populations in the rodent lateral hypothalamus: relationship to the neuropeptide Y and agouti gene-related protein systems

Abstract:Cells in the lateral hypothalamus and in the arcuate nucleus play prominent roles in the central control of food intake; however, a neurochemical link connecting these potential components of a hypothalamic circuitry regulating energy metabolism remains to be established. In the present study, the topographical relationship between cells expressing mRNAs encoding melanin-concentrating hormone and the newly discovered neuropeptide family hypocretins/orexins was studied in the rat and mouse lateral hypothalamus by using double-labeling in situ hybridization. Cells expressing the two mRNAs formed completely distinct populations, with hypocretin/orexin cells located primarily perifornically and in the magnocellular lateral hypothalamic nucleus; melanin-concentrating hormone cells extended in a wider area both laterally and periventricularly and appeared to partly surround the hypocretin/orexin population. In the arcuate nucleus, cells expressing neuropeptide Y and agouti gene-related protein were studied by routine fluorescence and/or confocal microscopy immunohistochemistry. Double staining demonstrated that a large proportion of the neuropeptide Y-positive cell bodies in this nucleus also contained agouti gene-related protein-like immunoreactivity. Moreover, these two peptides also coexisted in nerve terminals surrounding and in close relationship to perikarya and processes of both hypocretin/orexin- and melanin-concentrating hormone-immunoreactive cells in the lateral hypothalamus, whereby the former appeared to receive a more dense innervation. These results thus provide evidence for an arcuate-lateral hypothalamic neuropeptide Y/agouti gene-related protein pathway. Furthermore, the results implicate hypocretin/orexin and melanin-concentrating hormone-expressing cells as downstream targets in neuropeptide Y-induced feeding.
Neuropeptide Y (NPY)-like immunoreactivity in peripheral and central nerve fibres of the golden hamster (Mesocricetus auratus) with special respect to pineal gland innervation

Abstract:Information on the ambient lighting conditions is conveyed from the retina to the pineal organ by a neuronal pathway involving the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) which acts as a circadian pacemaker. In the hamster, circadian rhythms have been shown to be influenced by injection of neuropeptide Y (NPY) into the SCN. Since NPY-immunoreactive nerve fibres are present in the rat and guinea-pig pineal glands it appeared of interest to investigate the hamster pineal as part of the circadian rhythm generating/regulating system. For comparison kidney, small intestine and cerebral cortex were studied. Like in the other rodent species so far investigated only a few of the abundant sympathetic nerve fibres in the hamster pineal gland are NPY-immunoreactive, in contrast to the relatively rich innervation of the other organs. This speaks in favour of a possible central origin of pineal NPY-immunoreactive fibres. These may either exert vasoregulatory effects on pineal vasculature or be involved in the modulation of alpha-adrenergic receptor mediated regulation of pineal metabolism.
Interactions of phenylalanine derivatives with human tyrosinase: lessons from experimental and theoretical studies

Abstract:The pigmentation of the skin, modulated by different actors in melanogenesis, is mainly due to the melanins (protective pigments). In humans, these pigments' precursors are synthetized by an enzyme known as tyrosinase (TyH). The regulation of the enzyme activity by specific modulators (inhibitors or activators) can offer a means to fight hypo‐ and hyper‐pigmentations responsible for medical, psychological and societal handicaps. Herein, we report the investigation of phenylalanine derivatives as TyH modulators. Interacting with the binuclear copper active site of the enzyme, phenylalanine derivatives combine effects induced by combination with known resorcinol inhibitors and natural substrate/intermediate (amino acid part). Computational studies including docking, molecular dynamics and free energy calculations combined with biological activity assays on isolated TyH and in human melanoma MNT‐1 cells, and X‐ray crystallography analyses with the TyH analogue Tyrp1, provide conclusive evidence of the interactions of phenylalanine derivatives with human tyrosinase. In particular, our findings indicate that an analogue of L‐DOPA, namely (S)‐3‐amino‐tyrosine, stands out as an amino phenol derivative with inhibitory properties against TyH.

Expression of serotonin receptor HTR4 in glucagon-like peptide-1-positive enteroendocrine cells of the murine intestine

Abstract:Serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine [5-HT]) synthesized and released in enterochromaffin (EC) cells participates in various functions in the gastrointestinal tract by acting on a diverse range of 5-HT receptors (HTRs) expressed on smooth muscle, enteric neurons, and epithelial cells. We previously observed that genes encoding HTR2A, HTR2B, and HTR4 are expressed in murine intestinal organoids, suggesting the expression of these HTRs in intestinal epithelial cells. The present study investigated the localization of these HTRs in the murine intestine by immunofluorescence staining. HTR2A, HTR2B, and HTR4 localized in individual solitary cells in the epithelium, while HTR2C was observed in the lamina propria. In the epithelium, HTR2A, HTR2B, and HTR4 colocalized with 5-HT, and HTR4 colocalized with glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and peptide YY (PYY). Murine intestinal organoids show a colocalization pattern that is similar to in vivo HTR2A and HTR4 with 5-HT, GLP-1, and PYY. Intraperitoneal and intragastric administration of tegaserod, an HTR4 agonist, failed to alter plasma GLP-1 levels in fasted mice. However, intragastric but not intraperitoneal administration of tegaserod reduced dietary lipid-induced increases of plasma GLP-1 levels. This action of tegaserod was inhibited by co-administration of RS39604, an HTR4 antagonist. These results suggest that murine ileal GLP-1/PYY-producing enteroendocrine (EE) cells express HTR4, while 5-HT-producing EC cells express HTR2A, HTR2B, and HTR4. In addition, the observations regarding in vivo GLP-1 secretion suggest that HTR4 signaling in ileal EE cells suppresses dietary lipid-induced GLP-1 secretion. We thus propose that EC and EE cells may interact with each other through paracrine signaling mechanisms.

Synthesis and High Affinity Uptake of Serotonin and Dopamine by Human Y79 Retinoblastoma Cells

Abstract:Human Y79 retinoblastoma cells are capable of synthesizing the putative retinal neurotransmitters dopamine and serotonin. Separation of the catecholamines and indolamines by high performance liquid chromatography combined with electrochemical detection showed that the cells readily convert tyrosine to 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DOPA) and, to a lesser extent, dopamine. When DOPA was added, a large quantity of dopamine was produced, as well as norepinephrine, epinephrine, and 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid. Exogenous tryptophan added to the cells was partially converted to 5-hydroxytryptophan and serotonin. A larger quantity of serotonin was produced when 5-hydroxytryptophan was added. Y79 cells have a high- and low-affinity uptake system for dopamine and serotonin. The K'm and V'max for the high-affinity uptake of dopamine and serotonin are 2.34 +/- 0.64 and 3.63 +/- 1.15 microM and 4.77 +/- 1.12 and 3.20 +/- 1.20 pmol min-1 mg protein-1, respectively. These kinetic parameters are similar to those reported for other retinal preparations where dopamine and serotonin have been suggested to function as neurotransmitters. Tyrosine and tryptophan, the physiologic precursors of dopamine and serotonin, respectively, and phenylalanine are also taken up by high- and low-affinity transport systems. The kinetic parameters for their high-affinity uptake systems are all very similar, suggesting that they may be taken up by the same transporter. These studies show that a tumor cell line derived from the human retina synthesizes dopamine and serotonin and has high-affinity uptake systems for these compounds and their precursors.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)

Efferent and afferent innervation of primate trabecular meshwork and scleral spur

Abstract:Purpose: To determine the correlation between nerve terminals and cells or extracellular matrix (ECM) components in different portions of the primate trabecular meshwork (TM) and scleral spur (SS). Methods: Serial sagittal and tangential sections through the anterior segments of 10 cynomolgus monkey eyes and 12 human eyes were investigated immunohistochemically with antibodies against the vesicular acetylcholine transporter (VACHT), vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP), tyrosine-hydroxylase (TH), neuropeptide Y (NPY), substance P (SP), calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), and galanin (GAL) and with a reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate-diaphorase (NADPHd) reaction. The distribution of the terminals was compared with that of alpha-smooth-muscle actin (SMA) staining in TM and SS. The relationship between terminals and adjacent cells or ECM components was also studied in ultrathin sections through the TM and SS of 11 monkey eyes cut in sagittal, tangential, and frontal planes. Results: NADPHd-positive nerve terminals were present, especially in the outer portion of both human and monkey TM and in the SS. VACHT-immunoreactive (IR) fibers were found in human but not in monkey SS and TM. The fibers were most numerous in the elongated SS and posterior TM where most cells also stained for SMA. SP- and CGRP-IR nerve endings were also more numerous in the outer TM and SS than in the inner TM. Ultrastructurally, staining for SP was seen in nerve endings containing mitochondria and dense core vesicles and was in contact with the cribriform elastic network. In the posterior SS of monkey eyes were large terminals similar to those previously described in human eyes. Conclusions: The results show for the first time that in the primate TM and SS, there are cholinergic and nitrergic nerve terminals that could induce contraction and relaxation of TM and SS cells. Terminals in contact with the elastic-like network of the TM and containing SP-IR resemble afferent mechanoreceptor-like terminals in other parts of the body. These findings raise the possibility that the TM may have some ability to self-regulate aqueous humor outflow.
Tyrosinase-induced neuromelanin accumulation triggers rapid dysregulation and degeneration of the mouse locus coeruleus

Abstract:The locus coeruleus (LC), the major source of norepinephrine (NE) in the brain, is an early site of pathology in both Alzheimers disease (AD) and Parkinsons disease (PD), and it undergoes catastrophic degeneration later in both disorders. Dysregulation of the LC is thought to contribute to prodromal symptoms of AD and PD such as anxiety and sleep disturbances, while frank LC-NE loss promotes cognitive decline. However, the mechanisms responsible for its selective vulnerability are unknown. The LC is among the only structures in the brain that produces appreciable amounts of neuromelanin (NM), a dark cytoplasmic pigment. It has been proposed that NM initially plays a protective role by sequestering toxic catecholamine metabolites and heavy metals, but may become harmful during aging as it overwhelms cellular machinery and is released during neurodegeneration. Rodents do not naturally produce NM, limiting the study of causal relationships between NM and LC pathology. Adapting a viral-mediated approach for expression of human tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for peripheral melanin production, we successfully promoted pigmentation in mouse LC neurons that recapitulates key ultrastructural features of endogenous NM found in primates. Pigment expression results in LC neuron hyperactivity, reduced tissue NE levels, transcriptional changes, and novelty-induced anxiety phenotypes as early as 1-week post-injection. By 6-10 weeks, NM accumulation is associated with severe LC neuron neurodegeneration and microglial engulfment of the pigment granules, while the anxiety-like behavior is abated. These phenotypes are reminiscent of LC dysfunction and cell death in AD and PD, validating this model for studying the consequences of pigment accumulation in the LC as it relates to neurodegenerative disease.

Abstract:Vesnarinone is a novel synthetic inotropic agent. Recently, it has been reported that vesnarinone inhibits adenosine uptake in the B-lymphocytoid cell line. Since extracellular adenosine is cardioprotective, we examined whether vesnarinone inhibits adenosine uptake in cells constituting the cardiovascular system. 1 microCi of -3H-adenosine was added to cells of the myocyte cell line (C2C12), human coronary smooth muscle cell line (HCASMC), human and bovine coronary endothelial cell lines (HCAEC and BCAEC), bovine arterial endothelial cell line (BAEC), and human umbilical venous endothelial cell line (HUVEC). After 10 s-5 min, cells were separated from free [3H]adenosine, and the radioactivity was measured. When 0.1-100 microM of vesnarinone was added to each cell line, the uptake of adenosine was inhibited dose-dependently {% inhibition of -3H-adenosine uptake at 10 and 30 microM of vesnarinone: 14 and 33% (C2C12), 47 and 72% (HCASMC), 37 and 58% (HCAEC), 42 and 68% (BCAEC), 19 and 68% (BAEC), 29 and 59% (HUVEC)}. The cellular viability of HCAEC exposed to 60 min of hypoxia and 60 min of reoxygenation increased from 34+/-5 to 67+/-6% (Trypan blue exclusion test) and 23+/-5 to 78+/-6% (LDH release), which was completely blunted by 8-sulfophenyltheophylline, an adenosine receptor antagonist, and was partially blunted by alpha,beta-methyleneadenosine 5'-diphosphate, an inhibitor of ecto-5'-nucleotidase. We also found that vesnarinone is cytoprotective against hypoxia and reoxygenation in C2C12 and HCASMC. We conclude that vesnarinone inhibits the uptake of adenosine in cardiovascular cells, which contributes to cytoprotection.
Localization of peptide transporter in nuclei and lysosomes of the pancreas

Abstract:Conclusions: These studies show for the first time the localization of a H+/peptide cotrasporter in nuclei of vascular smooth muscle cells and Schwann cells and its localization in lysosomes of the exocrine pancreas. It is likely that the transporter functions to move small peptides from the lysosome to the cytoplasm following intralysosomal protein degradation. The nature of the transporter function in the nucleus remains to be determined, including the possibility that peptide signaling molecules may be transmitted between nucleus and cytoplasm. Background: PEPT1 transports di- and tripeptides through plasma membranes. Peptides are cotransported with H+, thus deriving the energy for the active transport process from an electrochemical H+ gradient. The main regions in which PEPT1 has been thought to function are the plasma membranes of the small intestinal epithelial cells for absorption of protein digestion products and in the kidney tubules for recovery of small peptides from the glomerular filtrate. Methods: Pancreas was removed from rats and quick frozen with liquid nitrogen. Frozen sections were fixed in cold acetone. Sections were incubated with primary antibody against PEPT1, followed by a secondary antibody conjugated with fluorescein, then examined with a fluorescence microscope. Results: Three major structures were immunopositive with the antibody to PEPT1: the nuclei of smooth muscle cells in the wall of arterioles, the nuclei of Schwann cells in unmyelinated pancreatic nerves, and lysosomes in acinar cells.

Abstract:Characterizing the protein constituents of a specific organelle and protein neighbors of a protein of interest (POI) is essential for understanding the function and state of the organelle and protein networks associated with the POI. Proximity labeling (PL) has emerged as a promising technology for specific and efficient spatial proteomics. Nevertheless, most enzymes adopted for PL still have limitations: APEX requires cytotoxic H2O2 for activation and thus is poor in biocompatibility for in vivo application, BioID shows insufficient labeling kinetics, and TurboID suffers from high background biotinylation. Here, we introduce a bacterial tyrosinase (BmTyr) as a new PL enzyme suitable for H2O2-free, fast (≤10 min in living cells), and low-background protein tagging. BmTyr is genetically encodable and enables subcellular-resolved PL and proteomics in living cells. We further designed a strategy of ligand-tethered BmTyr for in vivo PL, which unveiled the surrounding proteome of a neurotransmitter receptor (Grm1 and Drd2) in its resident synapse in a live mouse brain. Overall, BmTyr is one promising enzyme that can improve and expand PL-based applications and discoveries.
