Abstract:Inspired by the ultrahigh reactivity of the Fe-N4 active site in natural enzyme horseradish peroxidase (HRP), this work designs and fabricates a two-dimensional (2D) metal- organic framework (MOF)-based nanozyme, 2D Cu-TCPP(Fe) MOFs, involving long-ordered arrangement of the Fe-N4 macrocyclic units. The framework has been constructed by the bridging coordination between Cu(II) ions and the peripheral carboxyl groups of a Fe(III) ion-centered metalloporphyrin TCPPFe. Taking H2O2 and 3,3 ',5,5 '-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) as the substrates, the nanozyme shows an excellent activity toward H2O2 decomposition with a Michaelis constant (Km) of 2.67 mM smaller than that of HRP. The hydroxyl radical (center dot OH)-involved reaction mechanism has been verified experimentally, with the Fe-N4 moieties identified as the active sites. As a proof-of-concept application, the nanozyme-catalyzed TMB + H2O2 system is employed as a colorimetric assay for glutathione detection, which delivers two linear ranges of 0.1-10 and 10-60 mu M, with a lower detection limit of 90.8 nM (S/N = 3). In the meantime, the satisfying peroxidase-like (POD-like) activity of 2D Cu-TCPP(Fe) MOFs holds great potential for wider biochemical and biomedical applications.

Abstract:Three metal-organic frameworks {[Cu6(L1)4(DMF)(H2O)2∙5H2O}n (1) {Cu3(L1)2(phen)2(H2O)}n (2) and {[Cu8(μ3-OH)3(L2)4(NO3)(H2O)5]∙3H2O}n (3) utilizing nitrogen-containing heterocyclic carboxylate bifunctional ligands (L1 = 5-(4-carboxypyridin-3-yl)isophthalic acid and L2 = 2-(5-carboxypyridin-2-yl)terephthalic acid ) were self-assembled hydrothermally and characterized. MOFs 1-3 possess 3D networks which consist of three different types of Cu clusters {Cu2O2(OCO)4}, {Cu2O2N4(OCO)2} and {Cu4O10(OCO)4}, respectively. MOFs 1-3 efficiently catalyze the oxidation of cycloalkanes under mild conditions. Besides, the synthesized MOFs 1-3 exhibited high peroxidase-like activity and could be utilized to catalyze the oxidation of 2, 2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid ammonium salt) (ABTS) to produce green in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). The steady-state kinetics experiments of the oxidation of ABTS catalyzed by MOFs 1-3 were carried out, and the kinetic parameters were obtained. The results indicated that the affinity of MOFs 1-3 towards H2O2 and ABTS was higher than that of the natural horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The as-prepared MOF 1 can be applied for colorimetric detection of H2O2 with wide linear ranges of 0.5 to 200 μM and the limit of detection (LOD) 0.097 μM. Therefore, the novel Cu-MOFs could be regarded as promising artificial enzyme mimics in the catalysis, sensor and environment analysis.

Nickel metal-organic framework 2D nanosheets with enhanced peroxidase nanozyme activity for colorimetric detection of H2O2

Abstract:A two-dimensional (2D) Ni based metal-organic framework (MOF) nanosheets were synthesized using a one-step solvent-thermal method. The as-prepared nanosheets were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy disperse spectroscopy (EDS) mapping. Ni-MOF nanosheet was first time found to used as a peroxidase mimetic with catalytic activities and could catalyze the oxidation of the substrate 3,3,5,5-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) in the presence of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Catalytic mechanism analysis suggested the enzymatic kinetics of Ni-MOF nanosheets followed typical Michaelis-Menten theory and Ni-MOF nanosheets possess a higher affinity for two substrates (TMB and H2O2) than horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Furthermore, Ni-MOF nanosheet was applied to establish an H2O2 colorimetric sensor which deserves a wide linear range of 0.04 ~ 160 μM and a low detection limit of 8 nM. Also the application of this sensor for H2O2 detection in human serum and disinfectant was demonstrated and satisfactory results were obtained. Thus, the simple and sensitive Ni-MOF/TMB/H2O2 colorimetric system has great promising applications in clinical medicine and food environment analysis.
Enhanced peroxidase-like activity of Fe@PCN-224 nanoparticles and their applications for detection of H2O2and glucose

Abstract:Inspired by natural hemin structure, the fabrication of metal organic framework (MOF) nanomaterials constructed by metal ions and iron porphyrin for peroxidase mimicking has attracted extensive attention recently due to their high concentration of active sites and great channeling for substrate diffusion. Herein, by using benzoic acid as capping agent, we fabricated uniform PCN-224 nanoparticles (NPs), which were composed of Zr6 cluster and tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin (H2TCPP). Then Fe(Ⅲ) ions were incorporated into the center of H2TCPP producing iron porphyrin unit similar to hemin serving as catalytic active site. The procedure of iron incorporation didn't change the size and morphology of PCN-224 NPs. The newly formed Fe@PCN-224 NPs possessed peroxidase-like activity with much lower Km values and higher Kcat values than most of peroxidase-like nanozymes as well as natural horseradish peroxidase (HRP), indicating their enhanced catalytic activity. Taking advantage of the excellent peroxidase-like activity of Fe@PCN-224 NPs, we successfully developed a colorimetric method for simple and sensitive detection of hydrogen peroxide and glucose in combination with glucose oxidase.

Abstract:A hybrid of metal-organic frameworks (Fe, Mn) and Au nanoparticles anchored carbon nanotubes (Au/MOFs(Fe, Mn)/CNTs) was fabricated by a facile one-step hydrothermal process. The Au/MOFs(Fe, Mn)/CNTs exhibit highly enhanced peroxidase-like activity, because of the increased active sites, the enhanced partial charge density and electron transfer among the Fermi level of MOFs, Au and CNTs, as well as the synergistic action of Fe and Mn. The hybrid nanomaterials with high catalytic velocity (Vmax = 17.65 × 10-7 M s-1) and affinity (Km = 0.33 mM) for substrates of H2O2 display a great detection performance in the range of 0.34-53.05 nM with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.18 nM (S/N = 3). Based on the cascade reaction of the artificial peroxidase and glucose oxidase (GOx), the glucose was further better detected in a linear range of 0.005-0.3 μM with a LOD of 0.002 μM (S/N = 3). Notably, considering the regulated peroxidase-like activity by sulfadimethoxine (SDM) aptamer, the concentration of SDM ranging from 0.54 to 41.58 μg L-1 was also detected with a LOD of 0.35 μg L-1 (S/N = 3). The as-synthesized hybrid nanozymes hold promising applications as the multifunctional sensing platform in environmental and biologic target detection with the combination of corresponding enzyme or specific aptamer.

Abstract:Water-soluble cupric oxide nanoparticles are fabricated via a quick-precipitation method and used as peroxidase mimetics for ultrasensitive detection of hydrogen peroxide and glucose. The water-soluble CuO nanoparticles show much higher catalytic activity than that of commercial CuO nanoparticles due to their higher affinity to hydrogen peroxide. In addition, the as-prepared CuO nanoparticles are stable over a wide range of pH and temperature. This excellent stability in the form of aqueous colloidal suspensions makes the application of the water-soluble CuO nanoparticles easier in aqueous systems. A colorimetric assay for hydrogen peroxide and glucose has been established based on the catalytic oxidation of phenol coupled with 4-amino-atipyrine by the action of hydrogen peroxide. This analytical platform not only confirms the intrinsic peroxidase-like activity of the water-soluble cupric oxide nanoparticles, but also shows its great potential applications in environmental chemistry, biotechnology and medicine.
Multimetallic nanoparticles decorated metal-organic framework for boosting peroxidase-like catalytic activity and its application in point-of-care testing

Abstract:Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a sort of promising peroxidase-like nanozyme but face the challenge that the inorganic nodes in most of the MOF structures are generally blocked by the organic linkers. Further enhancement or activation of their peroxidase-like activity plays an important role in developing MOF-based nanozymes. Herein, a multimetallic nanoparticle (NP) decorated-MOF, Cu/Au/Pt NP decorated-Cu-TCPP(Fe) nanozyme (CuAuPt/Cu-TCPP(Fe)) was synthesized in situ and served as a peroxidase-like nanozyme. The peroxidase-like activity of this stable CuAuPt/Cu-TCPP(Fe) nanozyme was enhanced due to the decreased potential barriers for *OH generation in the catalytic process. Owing to the remarkable peroxidase-like activity, a CuAuPt/Cu-TCPP(Fe)-based colorimetric assay was established for the sensitive determination of H 2 O 2 and glucose with the limit of detection (LOD) of 9.3 μM and 4.0 μM, respectively. In addition, a visual point-of-care testing (POCT) device was developed by integrating the CuAuPt/Cu-TCPP(Fe)-based test strips with a smartphone and was employed for a portable test of 20 clinical serum glucose samples. The results determined by this method agree well with the values deduced by clinical automatic biochemical analysis. This work not only represents an inspiration for the usage of MNP/MOF composite as a novel nanozyme for POCT diagnosis, but also provides a deeper insight and understanding into the enhanced enzyme-mimic effect of MNP-hybrid MOF composites, which in turn will guide the engineering of MOF-based functional nanomaterials.

Abstract:Background: Nanozymes are one of the ideal substitutes for natural enzymes because of their excellent chemical stability and simple preparation methods. However, due to the limited catalytic ability of most reported nanozymes, constructing nanomaterials with low cost and high activity is gradually becoming an exploration focus in the field of nanozymes. Heteroatom doping of metal-organic frameworks is one of potential approaches to design nanozymes with high catalytic performance. Due to their multiple valence states properties, V-doped metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived LDH is expected to be a good enzyme-like catalyst. To our knowledge, the V-doped MOF-derived LDH as nanozyme is not explored before. Results: We report the in-situ synthesis of NiV-layered double hydroxides (LDHs) on nickel-based MOF, i.e. Ni-MOF@NiV-LDHs. The MOF surface is covered by 2D nanosheets. This unique structural design increases the specific surface area of the material, enables more exposure of catalytic active sites to participate in reactions and accelerates the electron transfer rate. The Ni-MOF@NiV-LDHs have high peroxidase-like activity able to catalyze TMB oxidation by H2O2 via the generation of •OH and O2•-. Relative to Ni-MOF, the Ni-MOF@NiV-LDHs shows 47-fold peroxidase-like activity rise. It had good affinity to TMB and H2O2, with the Michaelis-Menten constants of 0.12 mM and 0.007 mM, respectively. The hydroquinone (HQ) consumed the reactive oxygen species generated in the TMB + H2O2+Ni-MOF@NiV-LDHs system to inhibit the TMB oxidation. On this basis, a sensitive and rapid assay for determining HQ was developed, with a linear range of 0.50-70 μM and a LOD of 0.37 μM. Significance: This work provided some clues for the further development of novel nanozymes with high catalytic performance via a strategy of heteroatom doping. And the constructed colorimetric analysis method was successfully utilized for the determination of HQ in actual waters, which has the potential for practical application in the analysis of environmental pollutants.
A sensitive fluorescence detection strategy for H2O2 and glucose by using aminated Fe–Ni bimetallic MOF as fluorescent nanozyme

Abstract:An aminated Fe–Ni bimetallic metal–organic framework (Fe 3 Ni-MOF-NH 2 ) with both peroxidase-like activity and fluorescence properties was developed. Fe 3 Ni-MOF-NH 2 possessed the enhanced peroxidase-like activity through the enhanced electron transfer process and hydroxyl radical (·OH) generation. It was found that the amino group endowed the material with fluorescent property and the metal site Ni in Fe 3 Ni-MOF-NH 2 could also enhance the fluorescence emission intensity (Ex = 345 nm, Em = 452 nm). Based on the dual excellent performance of Fe 3 Ni-MOF-NH 2 , a novel sensitive fluorescence detection strategy for H 2 O 2 and glucose was designed and achieved. First, Fe 3 Ni-MOF-NH 2 converted H 2 O 2 to ·OH by exerting peroxidase-like activity, and ·OH converts catechol to o-benzoquinone. Then, the amino group in Fe 3 Ni-MOF-NH 2 connected to o-benzoquinone, which resulted in its fluorescence quenching. The detection limit of H 2 O 2 was as low as 5 nM. Combined with glucose oxidase which can oxidize glucose and produce H 2 O 2 the glucose could be indirectly determined with a detection limit of 40 nM. The method was applied to the detection of low-level glucose in human urine samples with good recoveries and reproducibilities.

Abstract:Main observation and conclusion Cu-based metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are regarded as promising sensing materials, which have abundant metal sites, large surface area and simple synthesis processes. In this work, a novel three-dimensional flower-like Cu-MOF was synthesized, which was combined with ultra-thin MXene nanosheets to construct a novel electrochemical sensor for H2O2. During the electrocatalytic reduction of H2O2, the catalytic activity of Cu-MOF/MXene/GCE results in the ultra-sensitive detection of H2O2 owing to the structure properties of MOFs, the nature of Cu-contained nanomaterials as well as the high electrical conductivity of MXene. The Cu-MOF/MXene/GCE showed a wide linear range from 1 mu mol/L to 6.12 mmol/L using chronoamperometry at the detection potential of -0.35 V, and the detection limit is estimated to be 0.35 mu mol/L. The sensor also shows good anti-interference due to the lower detection potential, specific catalysis of Cu-MOF to H2O2, which promises the sensor good selectivity in complexed samples. Meanwhile, the electrochemical sensor is capable to detect H2O2 in milk and serum samples with satisfactory recoveries. The ultra-sensitivity, rapid detection, and easy operation of the proposed sensor present significant prospect for real-time analysis and monitoring of H2O2 in foods and biological samples.
A PdPt Nanoparticle-Decorated Thiol-Functionalized MOF with High Peroxidase-Like Activity for Colorimetric Sensing of D-glucose and Chlorophenol Isomers.

Abstract:The peroxidase (POD)-like catalytic activity of various nanozymes was extensively applied in many significant fields. In this study, a thiol-functionalized MOF-loaded PdPt nanocomposite (UiO-66-(SH)(2)@PdPt) was fabricated, which possesses superior and selective POD-like activity with strong affinity towards H2O2 and 3,3 & PRIME;,5,5 & PRIME;-tetramethylbenzidine under mild conditions. The POD-like property of UiO-66-(SH)(2)@PdPt was used to sensitively detect the concentration of d-glucose under near-neutral (pH = 6.5) conditions. The detection limit of d-glucose was as low as 2.7 & mu;M, and the linear range of d-glucose was 5-700 & mu;M. In addition, UiO-66-(SH)(2)@PdPt could accelerate the oxidative coupling chromogenic reaction of chlorophenol (CP) and 4-aminoantipyrine (4-AAP) in the presence of H2O2. Based on this phenomenon, a simple and visualized sensing array for the identification of chlorophenol contaminant isomers was further constructed to finally achieve the effective differentiation of three monochlorophenol isomers and six dichlorophenol isomers. Furthermore, a colorimetric detection method for 2-chlorophenol and 2,4-dichlorophenol was established. This work provides an effective means to improve the catalytic activity and selectivity of nanozymes by introducing an ideal carrier, which will be of significant value for the design of efficient nanozymes.
Cu2O nanocubes–grafted highly dense Au nanoparticles with modulated electronic structures for improving peroxidase catalytic performances

Abstract:Based on the intermediate states of metal ions in metal oxide nanomaterials (NMs) that acted as the primary active species, the design of high-performance nanozymes has greatly stimulated current research in diverse biomedical applications. Herein, Cu2O nanocubes-grafted highly dense Au nanoparticles (NPs) was developed as an appealing nanozyme for H2O2 colorimetric sensor and antioxidant detections. The obtained Au/Cu2O heterostructures show efficient electron-transfer from metallic NPs to Cu2O nanocubes owing to the difference of Fermi energy between two components. The modulated electronic structure of Au/Cu2O hybrids enables them to possess enhanced peroxidase catalytic activity for the oxidation of 3, 3', 5, 5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) in the presence of H2O2, which is about 32% higher than that of pristine Cu2O nanocubes. Then, an excellent H2O2 colorimetric sensor was established by using Au/Cu2O heterostructures with a low limit of detection (LOD) of 0.054 μM, which is much lower than the H2O2 allowance level of US FDA regulations (ca.15 μM, 0.05 wt%). The obtained Au/Cu2O nanoproducts exhibit pronounced long-time stability with 95% peroxidase activity maintained after keeping them for 30 days, while residual 64.5% via Cu2O nanocubes. Furthermore, we assessed the anti-oxidative behavior of three natural antioxidants (tannic acid, gallic acid, tartaric acid) with the LODs as low as 0.039, 0.16 and 1.55 μM, respectively, and the antioxidant capacity in the following order: tannic acid > gallic acid > tartaric acid. Therefore, it is believed that the as-prepared Au/Cu2O nanozymes have promising potential applications in fields of biomedicine and food safety.

Uncapped nanobranch-based CuS clews used as an efficient peroxidase mimic enable the visual detection of hydrogen peroxide and glucose with fast response

Abstract:Nanosized materials acting as substitutes of natural enzymes are currently attracting significant research due to their stable enzyme-like characteristics, but some flaws of these nanozymes, including their limited catalytic rate and efficiency, need to be remedied to enable their wider applications. In this work, we verify for the first time the catalytic behavior of uncapped nanobranch-based CuS clews as a peroxidase mimic. XRD, XPS, SEM, and TEM proofs demonstrate that high-purity CuS clews composed of intertwined wires with abundant nanodendrites outside are successfully produced via a facile one-pot hydrothermal synthesis approach, with thiourea as both the sulfion source and the structure-directing agent. The synthesized CuS can catalytically oxidize 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) by H2O2 to trigger a visible color reaction with rapid response (reaching a maximum change within 5 min). The proposed CuS nanozyme exhibits preferable catalytic kinetics over natural horseradish peroxidase (HRP). This outstanding activity primarily results from the large surface area and rich sites exposed by the uncapped unique structure. Under optimized conditions, the fabricated sensing system provides linear absorbance (652 nm) changes in the H2O2 concentration range of 0.2˜130 μM, with a detection limit of as low as 63 nM. When coupled with glucose oxidase (GOD), the system is demonstrated to be capable of monitoring glucose in blood samples with excellent performance.
Porphyrin-Based Covalent Organic Frameworks with Donor-Acceptor Structure for Enhanced Peroxidase-Like Activity as a Colorimetric Biosensing Platform

Abstract:Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and glucose play a key role in many cellular signaling pathways. The efficient and accurate in situ detection of H2O2 released from living cells has attracted extensive research interests. Herein, a new porphyrin-based porous covalent organic framework (TAP-COF) was fabricated via one-step condensation of 1,6,7,12-tetrachloroperylene tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis (4-aminophenyl)porphyrin iron(III). The obtained TAP-COF has high surface areas, abundant surface catalytic active sites, and highly effective electron transport due to its precisely controllable donor–acceptor arrangement and 3D porous structure. Then, the new TAP-COF exhibited excellent peroxidase-like catalytic activity, which could effectively catalyze oxidation of the substrate 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzidine by H2O2 to produce a typical blue-colored reaction. On this basis, simple, rapid and selective colorimetric methods for in situ H2O2 detection were developed with the detection limit of 2.6 nM in the wide range of 0.01 to 200 μM. The colorimetric approach also could be used for in situ detection of H2O2 released from living MCF-7 cells. This portable sensor based on a COF nanozyme not only opens a new path for point-of-care testing, but also has potential applications in the field of cell biology and clinical diagnosis.

Abstract:The mimic enzyme has become a research hotspot in recent years because of its advantages of high stability, convenient preparation, and low price. In this article, Co 3 O 4 nanosheets synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method possess the characteristics of a peroxidase-like activity. The results demonstrated that 3,3′,5,5′-Tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) could be oxidized by H 2 O 2 to produce a typical blue product (oxTMB) which has a strong absorption at 650 nm wavelength with the help of the Co 3 O 4 nanosheets. Thus, a simple and sensitive colorimetric detection method for H 2 O 2 was established with a good linear relationship (2–200 μM) and a low limit of detection (0.4 μM). Meanwhile, the colorimetric product can effectively quench the fluorescence emitted by Ru(bpy) 3 2+ . Therefore, a colorimetric and fluorescence dual detection mode photochemical sensor for H 2 O 2 detection is constructed based on the principle of the inner filter effect (IFE) between the colorimetric product (oxTMB) and Ru(bpy) 3 2+ . It can effectively avoid the false positive problem of a single detection mode. In the presence of glucose oxidase, glucose can be catalyzed to produce gluconic acid and H 2 O 2 ; therefore, the sensor can also be used for the determination of glucose with a good linear relationship (0.02–2 μM) and a low limit of detection (5 nM). Experimental results showed that the sensor has a high sensitivity and strong anti-interference ability which can be used for the detection of actual samples.

Abstract:The synthesis of MOF with imide-functionalized aromatic conjugated carboxylic acid ligands has been a hot topic of field. A novel biomimetic peroxidase material (Cu-BDCPPI) was designed, synthesized and characterized by combining imide-functionalized aromatic conjugated carboxylic acid ligands N, N′-bis (3,5-dicarboxyphenyl) homophthalic diimide (H4BDCPPI) and catalytically active copper ions. The potential catalytic effect of Cu-H 4 BDCPPI on peroxidase-like activity was found firstly. It can catalyze the typical colorimetric substrate 3,3′,5,5′-tetramethylbenzyl (TMB) from colorless to blue ox-TMB in the presence of H2O2, and its enzymatic catalytic activity is similar to that of natural horseradish peroxidase (HRP). So, based on the catalytic performance of Cu-BDCPPI, a colorimetric method and test strips can be established for the detection of H2O2 and ascorbic acid (AA). This work provides a feasible strategy for synthesizing MOF materials with peroxidase like properties, expanding the application of MOF materials in the field of biological analysis.

Abstract:Benefiting from the advantages like large surface area, flexible constitution, and diverse structure, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been one of the most ideal candidates for nanozymes. In this study, a nitro-functionalized MOF, namely NO2-MIL-53(Cu), was synthesized. Multi-enzyme mimetic activities were discovered on this MOF, including peroxidase-like, oxidase-like, and laccase-like activity. Compared to the non-functional counterpart (MIL-53(Cu)), NO2-MIL-53(Cu) displayed superior enzyme mimetic activities, indicating a positive role of the nitro group in the MOF. Subsequently, the effects of reaction conditions on enzyme mimetic activities were investigated. Remarkably, NO2-MIL-53(Cu) exhibited excellent peroxidase-like activity even at neutral pH. Based on this finding, a simple colorimetric sensing platform was developed for the detection of H2O2 and glucose, respectively. The detection liner range for H2O2 is 1–800 μM with a detection limit of 0.69 μM. The detection liner range for glucose is linear range 0.5–300 μM with a detection limit of 2.6 μM. Therefore, this work not only provides an applicable colorimetric platform for glucose detection in a physiological environment, but also offers guidance for the rational design of efficient nanozymes with multi-enzyme mimetic activities.

Abstract:Here, we design and synthesize a novel 2D Cu-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin (TCPP) metal–organic framework (MOF) sheet and ultrasmall Cu5.4O nanoparticle (Cu5.4O USNP) hybrid (Cu-TCPP MOF/Cu5.4O nanocomposite). The graphene-like ultrathin Cu-TCPP MOF sheets offer high surface-to-volume atom ratios and many active sites, which is beneficial for loading more Cu5.4O USNPs. The Cu5.4O USNPs with ultrasmall size (<5 nm) have promising conductivity and excellent enzymatic ability for H2O2. The successfully prepared nanocomposites are characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) techniques. The 2D graphene-like ultrathin Cu-TCPP MOF sheets show no H2O2-sensing signals, whereas Cu5.4O USNPs exhibit a clear reduction peak for detection of H2O2. Interestingly, the combination of two kinds of nanomaterials improved the H2O2 sensing ability due to their synergistic effect. The properties of the unmodified electrodes and the Cu-TCPP MOF/Cu5.4O nanocomposite-modified electrodes were systemically studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV), current-time (i-t) response, and square-wave voltammetry (SWV) techniques. The electrochemical sensor for the detection of H2O2 based on the Cu-TCPP MOF/Cu5.4O nanocomposite has a lower detection limit of 0.13 μmol·L−1 and wider linear range of 0.1 × 10−6 ~ 0.59 × 10−3 mol·L−1 and 1.59 × 10−3 ~ 20.59 × 10−3 mol·L−1 when compared with the Cu5.4O USNPs-modified electrode. The electrochemical sensor can be further used to detect H2O2 produced by cells.

Abstract:Nanozyme possess the advantages of high enzyme simulation activity, low cost, and excellent stability. As a substitute for natural enzymes, nanozyme have demonstrated significant potential in various fields. In this study, a bimetallic organometallic framework Cu@Co-MOFs was synthesized via the hydrothermal method using terephthalic acid (H2BDC) as a ligand and characterized. Cu@Co-MOFs exhibits outstanding peroxidase activity (POD) by catalyzing the oxidation of 3,3 ',5,5 '-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) and other color-developing substrates through center dot OH formation. A simple, rapid, and reliable colorimetric method for quantitatively detecting glutathione (GSH) was developed based on the Pod-like activity of Cu@Co-MOFs. The linear range of this method was 1-1200 mu M with a detection limit of 0.72 mu M. This work not only proposes a bimetallic organic framework with high POD as a straightforward and practical platform for visually detecting GSH but also provides a strategy to enhance the performance of nanomaterials.
