Abstract:Melanin is generated in the melanosomes of melanocytes and is an important factor determining the skin color. Melanogenesis is catalyzed by tyrosinase (TYR), tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TYRP1), and dopachrome tautomerase (DCT). Therefore, these enzymes are suitable targets for the development of cosmetics aimed at skin whitening. In this study, we investigated the effect of milk whey on melanin production. Whey obtained from five strains of lactic acid bacteria (L. delbrueckii bulgaricus, L. helveticus, L. acidphillus, L. casei, and L. helveticus CM4 strains) was used. The melanin contents in B16 melanoma cells treated with α-MSH was significantly increased by about 2-fold compared to control cells. In contrast, melanin production by α-MSH was significantly suppressed in whey obtained from any lactic acid bacteria. These wheys inhibited α-MSH-induced increased expression of TYR, TYRP1, and DCT. When the whey obtained from L. helveticus was examined in detail, it was found that the fraction with a molecular weight of 3 kDa or more had a strong melanin production inhibitory effect. These results demonstrated that whey decreases the expression of TYR, TYRP1, and DCT and suppresses melanin production. It was also suggested that substances with a molecular weight of 3 kDa or more may be involved in this action of whey.
Lactobacillus helveticus-Fermented Milk Whey Suppresses Melanin Production by Inhibiting Tyrosinase through Decreasing MITF Expression

Abstract:Whey obtained from milk fermented by the Lactobacillus helveticus CM4 strain (LHMW) has been shown to improve skin barrier function and increase skin-moisturizing factors. In this study, we investigated the effects of LHMW on melanin production to explore the additional impacts of LHMW on the skin. We treated mouse B16 melanoma cells with α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) alone or simultaneously with LHMW and measured the amount of melanin. The amount of melanin in B16 cells treated with α-MSH significantly increased by 2-fold compared with that in control cells, and tyrosinase activity was also elevated. Moreover, treatment with LHMW significantly suppressed the increase in melanin content and elevation of tyrosinase activity due to α-MSH. LHMW also suppressed the α-MSH-induced increased expression of tyrosinase, tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TRP1), and dopachrome tautomerase (DCT) at the protein and mRNA levels. Furthermore, the mRNA and protein microphthalmia-associated transcription factor (MITF) expression levels were significantly increased with treatment with α-MSH alone, which were also suppressed by LHMW addition. LHMW suppression of melanin production is suggested to involve inhibition of the expression of the tyrosinase gene family by lowering the MITF expression level. LHMW may have promise as a material for cosmetics with expected clinical application in humans.

Abstract:There is a lack of research on how Tibetan kefir grains fermentation alters the physicochemical properties and biological activity of Lycium barbarum pulp polysaccharides, despite some reports that fermentation can affect the structure and activity of plant polysaccharides. This study demonstrated that, through fermentation, the molecular weight of polysaccharides decreased from 25.33 to 15.11 kg/mol while the contents of total sugar and uronic acid increased by 19.11% and 40.38%, respectively. Furthermore, after fermentation, the polysaccharides exhibited an uneven and rough surface along with a reduced number of branched chains and triple helix structures. Tibetan kefir grains fermentation enhanced the antioxidant activity of polysaccharides, which may be attributed to an increase in arabinose, galactose, and uronic acid content and a decrease in polysaccharide molecular weight. This research offers an alternative viewpoint on the potential application of Tibetan kefir grains-fermented Lycium barbarum pulp polysaccharides in functional foods.

Abstract:Traditional fermented foods and beverages (TFFB) are an important dietary component consumed in large quantities worldwide. Currently, much attention has been focused on the health benefits of TFFB. Melanoidins, a class of bioactive substance produced in the final stage of the Maillard reaction, not only have a significant impact on sensory properties of TFFB but also contribute to the health effects. Melanoidins formed in the fermentation system with a long reaction time at low temperature could be different from those obtained from high‐temperature, short‐duration roasted systems due to the multiple formative stages and involvement of microorganisms and enzymes. In this paper, the current state of knowledge regarding the formation, distribution, extraction and purification, physicochemical properties, structure characteristics, and biological activities of TFFB melanoidins are comprehensively reviewed, with predominant focus on TFFB that are typically brown like douchi, miso, cheonggukjang, soy sauce, huangjiu (Chinese rice wine), beer, vinegar, and sweet wine. The current challenges and prospective recommendations for the research of melanoidins in fermented systems are also presented. In future, people should pay more attention to the basic research on TFFB melanoidins, especially purification methods and formation mechanisms, further substantiation of health properties of TFFB melanoidins in vivo, and development of specific melanoidins to fulfill technological, productive, or health needs of consumers.

Metagenomic features of Tibetan kefir grains and its metabolomics analysis during fermentation

Abstract:The microbial community diversity of Tibetan kefir grains (TKGs) contributes to intricate metabolite changes and metabolic interactions during milk fermentation. In present research, metagenomic sequencing analysis was used to reveal microflora composition of TKGs, indicating the presence of 522 species, with Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens as the most abundant species. Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium were the most diverse probiotics. Subsequently, the metabolites changes of kefir were investigated using metabolomics with UHPLC - MS/MS. Datasets at the 8 h, 24 h and 36 h of fermentation (group A, B, C, respectively) were analyzed to reveal the apparent differences during fermentation. A total 192 differential metabolites were identified in the A vs B group, and 96 differential metabolites were identified in the C vs B group. In addition, 7 metabolic pathways were enriched based on the differential metabolites in group A vs B, and mainly related to lipid metabolism, amino acid biosynthesis, carbohydrate metabolism and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis. The differential metabolites in C vs B group covered 11 pathways, mainly involving amino acid metabolism, citrate cycle (TCA cycle), translation, membrane transport and biosynthesis of secondary metabolites. The study of metabolomics in kefir fermentation provides a theoretical foundation for visualization of the fermentation process in future studies.
Fermented Aronia melanocarpa Inhibits Melanogenesis through Dual Mechanisms of the PI3K/AKT/GSK-3β and PKA/CREB Pathways

Abstract:UV light causes excessive oxidative stress and abnormal melanin synthesis, which results in skin hyperpigmentation disorders such as freckles, sunspots, and age spots. Much research has been carried out to discover natural plants for ameliorating these disorders. Aronia melanocarpa contains various polyphenolic compounds with antioxidative activities, but its effects on melanogenesis have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we investigated the inhibitory effect of fermented Aronia melanocarpa (FA) fermented with Monascus purpureus on melanogenesis and its underlying mechanism in the B16F10 melanoma cell line. Our results indicate that FA inhibited tyrosinase activity and melanogenesis in alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH)-induced B16F10 cells. FA significantly downregulated the PKA/CREB pathway, resulting in decreased protein levels of tyrosinase, TRP-1, and MITF. FA also inhibited the transcription of MITF by increasing the phosphorylation levels of both GSK3β and AKT. Interestingly, we demonstrated that these results were owing to the significant increase in gallic acid, a phenolic compound of Aronia melanocarpa produced after the fermentation of Monascus purpureus. Taken together, our research suggests that Aronia melanocarpa fermented with Monascus purpureus acts as a melanin inhibitor and can be used as a potential cosmetic or therapeutic for improving hyperpigmentation disorders.
Inhibitory Effects of Fermented Sprouted Oat Extracts on Oxidative Stress and Melanin Overproduction

Abstract:Hyperpigmentation occurs due to irregular secretion of melanin pigment in the skin. This can affect quality of life depending on its severity, so prevention and management are essential. Oats (Avena sativa L.), a grain consumed worldwide, are known to offer improved health benefits upon germination and fermentation. This study is aimed to investigate the protective effects of lactobacilli-fermented sprouted oat extracts on oxidative stress and melanin overproduction in vitro. The anti-melanogenic effect was investigated using melanin content and tyrosinase activity assays in B16F10 cells, as well as a mushroom tyrosinase-based enzyme inhibition assay. The results showed that L. casei-fermented oat extracts were the most effective for reducing melanin formation by reducing the mRNA expression of microphthalmia-associated transcription factor, tyrosinase, and tyrosinase-related protein 2 mRNA expression. Furthermore, L. casei fermentation was effective in improving the total phenolic, flavonoid, and avenanthramide A contents of sprouted oat extracts. The results also demonstrated the antioxidant effects of L. casei-fermented sprouted oat extracts in promoting DPPH radical-scavenging activity, superoxide dismutase-like activity, and reduction in reactive oxygen species levels. Overall, the findings indicate that fermented sprouted oat extracts are promising candidates for antioxidant and anti-hyperpigmentation treatments.

Inhibitory Effects of (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate on Melanogenesis in Ultraviolet A-Induced B16 Murine Melanoma Cell

Abstract:Purpose: To investigate the anti-melanogenesis effect of green tea compound, (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), on B16 murine melanoma cell irradiated by ultraviolet A (UVA) in the search for natural skin-lightening alternative agents.Methods: B16 murine melanoma cells by UVA (9.0 J/cm(2)) for 0 to 32 min and then incubated in Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM) with EGCG (0-200 mu g/mL) for 2 days. Cell viability was determined by MTT method and cell protein was quantified using a PA102 Bradford protein assay kit. Activity of tyrosinase (TRY) was determined based on the oxidation rate of 3,4-dihydroxy phenylalanine (DOPA). The ultra-structure of the melanosomes was observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM).Results: TRY activity and melanin concentration were increased to 146.70 +/- 10.28 % (p < 0.05) and 157.06 +/- 6.37 % (p < 0.05), respectively, by 9.0 J/cm(2) UVA irradiation for 8 min, compared to blank control without UV A and EGCG. EGCG inhibited the UV A induced increase in TRY activity and melanin level, and the optimum concentration of EGCG was 25 mu g/mL. TRY activity and melanin concentration were decreased to 64.71 +/- 4.41 (p < 0.05) and 86.24 +/- 5.15 % (p < 0.05), respectively, compared to blank (control) which was neither treated by UVA nor by EGCG. TEM showed that UVA induced the formation of melanosomes while EGCG inhibited UVA-induced melanosome maturation.Conclusion: EGCG inhibits UVA-induced melanogenesis via suppression of TRY activity and melanosome maturation and is thus a potential alternative to melanogenesis inhibitor.
Potential antibacterial and milk fermentation capabilities of Staphylococcus warneri KYS-164 isolated from Tibetan kefir grain

Abstract:This study utilized high-throughput sequencing and SEM observation to elucidate the microbial composition of TKG-Y, a Tibetan herder's homemade kefir grain. Staphylococcus warneri KYS-164, which could produce bacteriocin-like inhibitory substances (BLIS), was subsequently screened from it. BLIS (1×MIC) produced by KYS-164 could inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli 366-a and Staphylococcus aureus CICC 10384. The presence of the warnericin-centered gene cluster in KYS-164 may explain the antibacterial properties of BLIS. Additionally, α-amylase, pepsin and pH posed challenges to KYS-164 and BLIS. S. warneri KYS-164 displayed no antibiotic resistance and biological toxicity after 80 subcultures, while BLIS produced by 40 generations of strain retained inhibitory efficacy against pathogenic bacteria. After 48-hour fermentation of milk with KYS-164, many volatile compounds were released from fermented milk, thereby enriching the sensory characteristics of dairy products. This study delivers strong evidence that S. warneri KYS-164, derived from kefir grains, has prodigious potential for food fermentation.

Abstract:Cow colostrum is the first milk produced after birth and is a rich natural source of nutrients, immunoglobulins, peptides, and growth factors. The bioconversion of milk and whey changes the immobilization and biochemical characterization. However, the cellular mechanism and the anti-melanin synthesis effects of hydrolyzed cow colostrum extract (BCFM) in alpha-MSH-induced B16F1 cells have not been examined. In this study, we investigated the anti-melanogenesis mechanism by examining the effects of BCFM in alpha-MSH-induced B16F1 cells. Cells were treated with BCFM in the presence or absence of alpha-MSH and co-cultured for 24, 48, and 72 h. The treatment of B16F1 cells with alpha-MSH resulted in the darkening of the color of the cells and induction of melanin synthesis. In addition, the expression levels of MC1R and cAMP, as well as phosphorylation levels of CREB and PKA, were increased by alpha-MSH treatment. However, concomitant treatment with BCFM resulted in a significant decrease in these factors and phosphorylated MITF. At the same time, the expressive amount of TRP-1 and tyrosinase was also decreased in B16F1 cells. These results demonstrate the potential of BCFM for the prevention of melanogenesis progression via the regulation of the MC1R-cAMP signaling pathway in alpha-MSH-induced B16F1 cells. The administration of BCFM suppressed the expression of TRP-1 and/or tyrosinase by regulating the CREB/MITF signaling pathways in the B16F1 cells. We propose that hydrolyzed cow colostrum extract (BCFM) is suitable for use as a novel active agent for skin whitening or pharmaceutical applications.

Abstract:2,4,2',4'-Tetrahydroxy-3-(3-methyl,1-2-butenyl)-chalcone (TMBC), a naturally occurring compound from Morus nigra, modulated melanogenesis by inhibiting tyrosinase. TMBC inhibited the L-dopa oxidase activity of mushroom tyrosinase with an IC50 value of 0.95 +/- 0.04 mu m, which was more potent than kojic acid (IC50 = 24.88 +/- 1.13 mu M), a well-known tyrosinase inhibitor. The kinetic studies of tyrosinase inhibition revealed that TMBC acts as a competitive inhibitor of mushroom tyrosinase with L-dopa as the substrate. Furthermore, TMBC effectively inhibited both cellular tyrosinase activity and melanin biosynthesis in B16 melanoma cells without significant cytotoxicity. The inhibitor), effect of TMBC on melanogenesis was attributed to the direct inhibition of tyrosinase activity, rather than the suppression of tyrosinase gene expression. These results indicated that TMBC may be a new promising pigmentation-altering agent for cosmetic or therapeutic applications.

Abstract:Goat milk kefir (GMK) refers to fermented products, generated through fermenting milk with microbial culture called kefir grains. Prior studies have reported the changes in kefir quality properties during aging process in which fermentation continues, resulting in changes of the peptide content. This research aims to investigate the effect of aging time on GMK–peptide characteristics to inhibite triglyceride syntheses on cells model of 3T3-L1. In this study, GMK were stored at 4 ± 1 oC for 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks, respectively. The protein profile was characterizedby implementing SDS-PAGE. The result of experiment indicated no protein degradation during the 6 weeks of aging period particularly for high molecular weight at 84 kDa, 80 kDa and 65 kDa. The GMK-supernatant from 8 weeks storage was performed by applying ultrafiltration membrane cut off < 30 kDa (UFC8 030.08). GMK-filtrate fractions (GMK-peptide) was collected as peptides. After 8 weeks of aging period, kefir protein profile was found to consist of peptide fractions and amino acid. The proteolytic activity of kefir grain increased linearly along with aging time (0-8 weeks). During aging period, the proteolytic activity of grain kefir released peptides and amino acid. In particular, the antioxidant activities were found significantly different (p<0.05) during aging periods. The antioxidant activities of GMK-peptide increased along with the elevating peptide concentration, from 3.30 % to 55.73%, with derivate by GMK-peptides of 2.75 – 10.39 mg/ml. Obesity associated with adipocyte hypertrophy occurred when TG accumulation.GMK-peptide of 100 mg/ml indicated the lowest TG level (2.00 ± 0.03 mg/dl). This finding was in line with the inhibition of TG synthesis (61.14 ± 3.26 %). However, GMK-peptide contained antioxidant potency due to may be corelated with decreasing TG synthesis.The study thus suggested the important role of kefir to prolong aging in generating higher peptide bioactive as antioxidant and inhibition of TG synthesis of cell model of 3T3-L1

Abstract:Here we examine the effects of extracts of Poria cocos mycelium fermented with freeze-dried plum powder (PPE) on the α -melanocyte stimulating hormone ( α -MSH)-stimulated melanogenesis in cultured murine B16 melanoma cells (B16 cells), relative to the effects of Prunus extract. We found that an extract of Prunus fermentation showed significant inhibition of melanogenesis and tyrosinase activity with no effect on cell proliferation and was more active compared to Prunus extract alone. Furthermore, we confirmed that medium containing 3% Prunus was the optimal culture substrate for fermentation with Poria cocos . These results provide evidence that Prunus fermentation extract affects skin whiting in murine B16 melanoma cells (B16 cells). Prunus contains rutin, oxalic acid, succinic acid, and fumaric acid, which help in digestion and fatigue recovery. The rutin of Prunus mume is reported to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Also, Prunus extract has a tyrosinase inhibitory activity for skin whiting through its antioxidant activity. Therefore, we believe the Prunus extract for Poria cocos fermentation can be provided as a potential mediator to induce skin whiting.
Anti-Melanogenic Effects of Takifugu flavidus Muscle Hydrolysate in B16F10 Melanoma Cells and Zebrafish

Abstract:Abnormal melanogenesis can lead to hyperpigmentation. Tyrosinase (TYR), a key rate-limiting enzyme in melanin production, is an important therapeutic target for these disorders. We investigated the TYR inhibitory activity of hydrolysates extracted from the muscle tissue of Takifugu flavidus (TFMH). We used computer-aided virtual screening to identify a novel peptide that potently inhibited melanin synthesis, simulated its binding mode to TYR, and evaluated functional efficacy in vitro and in vivo. TFMH inhibited the diphenolase activities of mTYR, reducing TYR substrate binding activity and effectively inhibiting melanin synthesis. TFMH indirectly reduced cAMP response element-binding protein phosphorylation in vitro by downregulating melanocortin 1 receptor expression, thereby inhibiting expression of the microphthalmia-associated transcription factor, further decreasing TYR, tyrosinase related protein 1, and dopachrome tautomerase expression and ultimately impeding melanin synthesis. In zebrafish, TFMH significantly reduced black spot formation. TFMH (200 μg/mL) decreased zebrafish TYR activity by 43% and melanin content by 52%. Molecular dynamics simulations over 100 ns revealed that the FGFRSP (T-6) peptide stably binds mushroom TYR via hydrogen bonds and ionic interactions. T-6 (400 μmol/L) reduced melanin content in B16F10 melanoma cells by 71% and TYR activity by 79%. In zebrafish, T-6 (200 μmol/L) inhibited melanin production by 64%. TFMH and T-6 exhibit good potential for the development of natural skin-whitening cosmetic products.

Abstract:A vaginal ring made of silicone polymers and barium sulfate, and containing 1 g of pure micronized progesterone, was developed for luteal supplementation in women undergoing cycles of in vitro fertilization (IVF). The ring, modeled on the Estring, was designed as a means of providing continuous intravaginal delivery of progesterone. Bioavailability of progesterone in the blood was demonstrated for 24 hours in IVF candidates who had an endogenous progesterone deficiency after treatment with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analogues. After the first 4 h of increasing release of progesterone from the ring (with mean serum levels of 1.39 +/- 0.8 ng/ml after 4 h), only a slight increase in serum progesterone levels (with a mean peak of 1.5 +/- 0.45 ng/ml after 24 h) was observed during the rest of the test period. Gonadotropin levels were not affected after insertion of the ring. The ring was well tolerated by the patients. The maximum serum progesterone level was lower in comparison with other forms of progesterone application, but it should be sufficiently high, due to the uterine first-pass effect. This study demonstrated that progesterone administration through a silicone ring for luteal support is feasible in IVF treatment. As the vaginal ring is very well tolerated by the patients, these findings may encourage the pharmaceutical industry to design an appropriate progesterone ring for luteal support.

Abstract:UNLABELLED Four samples of Tibetan kefir grains (TK-ZJUJ 01-04) from Tibet and surrounding areas were investigated via phenotypic and genotypic methods to compare and analyze the diversity of culturable microflora among different origins. As a result, 4 genera of microorganisms from TK-ZJUJ01: Bacillus subtilis (2.9 × 10(7) cfu/mL), Lactococcus lactis (8.2 × 10(7) cfu/mL), Kluyveromyces marxianus (3.0 × 10(6) cfu/mL), Saccharomyces cerevisiae (9.0 × 10(6) cfu/mL); 4 genera from TK-ZJUJ02: Lactobacillus kefiri (1.0 × 10(8) cfu/mL), Pichia kudriavzevii (5.0 × 10(6) cfu/mL), K. marxianus (1.9 × 10(7) cfu/mL), Kazachstania unispora (6.2 × 10(7) cfu/mL); 6 genera from TK-ZJUJ03: Leuconostoc lactis (4.6 × 10(7) cfu/mL), L. lactis (3.0 × 10(7) cfu/mL), Lactobacillus plantarum (3.0 × 10(7) cfu/mL), K. unispora (3.0 × 10(6) cfu/mL), K. marxianus (2.0 × 10(6) cfu/mL), (1.7 × 10(7) cfu/mL); and 4 genera from TK-ZJUJ04: L. plantarum (1.8 × 10(7) cfu/mL), Acetobacter fabarum (5.0 × 10(6) cfu/mL), K. unispora (6.2 × 10(7) cfu/mL), Pichia guilliermondii (6.2 × 10(7) cfu/mL) were identified. Yeasts like P. kudriavzevii and P. guilliermondii isolated in this study were the first time reported in Tibetan kefir grains. For TK-ZJUJ 01-03, lactic acid bacteria were the major microorganisms, which accounted for more than 50% of all the microbial population, while for TK-ZJUJ04, the largest microbial group was yeasts which accounted for more than 50%. In a word, study of diversity and composition of microflora provided us theoretical foundation for further investigation and application of Tibetan kefir grains. PRACTICAL APPLICATION This is the basic research in order to develop and industrialize a new kind of yogurt starter which is naturally formed microbiota with both lactic acid bacteria and yeasts in it.

Abstract:Abstract Recordings of music played by a typical rock band in a discotheque for young adults showed that sound-pressure levels in the octaves most damaging to hearing were of the order of 105 decibels (db). Tape loops of this sound were then presented by earphone to 15 young men with normal hearing at levels of 100 and 110 db for five to 120 minutes. With the use of temporary hearing threshold shifts of 40 db (after two minutes of recovery) as a damage-risk criterion, the data indicated that, after listening for two hours to such music at 100 db, two persons in 100 would recover far too slowly, whereas at 110-db, 16 percent would be adversely and probably permanently affected.

Abstract:Yak yogurt, which is rich in microorganisms, is a naturally fermented dairy product prepared with ancient and modern techniques by Chinese herdsmen in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The objective of this research was to assess the impact of Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus starter cultures on the quality and shelf life of yak yogurt, as well as the genetic stability across multiple generations, in comparison to commercially available plain yogurt and peach oat flavor yogurt. Following that, the samples were evenly divided into four treatment groups denoted as T1 (treatment 1), T2, T3, and T4, with each group employing a distinct source of yogurt formulation. T1 included L. bulgaricus, T2 comprised S. thermophilus, T3 consisted of plain yogurt, and T4 represented peach oat yogurt flavor. The findings indicate that T1 yogurt consistently presents a lower pH and higher acidity compared to the other three yogurt types throughout the entire generation process. Moreover, the fat content in all generations of the four yogurt types exceeds the national standard of 3.1 g/100 g, while the total solid content shows a tendency to stabilize across generations. The protein content varies significantly among each generation, with T1 and T4 yogurt indicating higher levels compared to the T2 and T3 yogurt groups. In terms of overall quality, T1 and T4 yogurt are superior to T2 and T3 yogurt, with T1 yogurt being the highest in quality among all groups. The findings revealed that the inclusion of L. bulgaricus led to enhanced flavor, texture, and genetic stability in yak yogurt. This study will serve as a valuable source of data, support, and methodology for the development and screening of compound starters to be utilized in milk fermentation in future research and applications.

Abstract:Ganoderma lucidum possesses anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory properties. We evaluated the anti-inflammatory and anti-melanogenesis effects of G. lucidum alone (S1), G. lucidum and Polygonatum odoratum (S2), and G. lucidum and P. ginseng (S3) using an ultraviolet B-irradiated HaCaT cell model and a prostaglandin 2 (PGE2)-treated B16-F10 melanocyte model. S3 inhibited PGE-2 and LL-37 secretion in HaCaT cells and melanin and tyrosinase expression in B16-F10 cells. Furthermore, LC/MS/MS results revealed that the levels of 70 components were higher in S3 than in S1 and S2. These results demonstrate that G. lucidum and P. ginseng co-culture fermentation broth possess in vitro anti-inflammatory and anti-melanogenesis effects; it can be used in the skin care industry.
