Abstract:(1 of 7) 1600715 Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), as an effective, ultrasensitive, and label-free analytical technique, has received increasing attention for the detection and identification of trace amounts of chemical and biological molecules.[1–5] SERS can offer a tremendous enhancement of the intensity of pristine Raman signal, which has opened a new avenue for analytical applications in different fields, including life science, environmental science and security.[6–10] It is widely accepted that SERS enhancement results from a combination of electromagnetic mechanism (EM) and chemical mechanism (CM), which originated from localized surface plasmonic resonance occurring at the surfaces of roughened metal substrates or metal nanoparticles (NPs) and direct charge transfer or indirect electron–hole pair excitation processes, respectively.[7,11] Various nanostructures and hybrids with tunable plasmonic properties have been proposed to combine the advantages of both EM and CM enhancements, such as graphene/Au pyramids,[12] 3D graphene/Au hybrid,[13] Au/Ag NPs,[8,14] Au/metal oxide,[15] graphene oxide/metal NPs,[16] metal/semiconductor nanostructures,[17] graphene quantum dots,[18] etc. Among these composites, graphene/Au hybrid structures have drawn significant attention because of synergistic effect of Au’s high SERS activity and graphene’s amazing Raman scattering properties, Synergistic Effects of Wrinkled Graphene and Plasmonics in Stretchable Hybrid Platform for Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy
