Abstract:Background Postural balance and gait training is important for treating persons with functional impairments, however current systems are generally not portable and are unable to train different types of movements. Methods This paper describes a proof-of-concept design of a configurable, wearable sensing and feedback system for real-time postural balance and gait training targeted for home-based treatments and other portable usage. Sensing and vibrotactile feedback are performed via eight distributed, wireless nodes or “Dots” (size: 22.5 × 20.5 × 15.0 mm, weight: 12.0 g) that can each be configured for sensing and/or feedback according to movement training requirements. In the first experiment, four healthy older adults were trained to reduce medial-lateral (M/L) trunk tilt while performing balance exercises. When trunk tilt deviated too far from vertical (estimated via a sensing Dot on the lower spine), vibrotactile feedback (via feedback Dots placed on the left and right sides of the lower torso) cued participants to move away from the vibration and back toward the vertical no feedback zone to correct their posture. A second experiment was conducted with the same wearable system to train six healthy older adults to alter their foot progression angle in real-time by internally or externally rotating their feet while walking. Foot progression angle was estimated via a sensing Dot adhered to the dorsal side of the foot, and vibrotactile feedback was provided via feedback Dots placed on the medial and lateral sides of the mid-shank cued participants to internally or externally rotate their foot away from vibration. Results In the first experiment, the wearable system enabled participants to significantly reduce trunk tilt and increase the amount of time inside the no feedback zone. In the second experiment, all participants were able to adopt new gait patterns of internal and external foot rotation within two minutes of real-time training with the wearable system. Conclusion These results suggest that the configurable, wearable sensing and feedback system is portable and effective for different types of real-time human movement training and thus may be suitable for home-based or clinic-based rehabilitation applications.
Determination of the 3D Human Spine Posture from Wearable Inertial Sensors and a Multibody Model of the Spine

Abstract:Determination of spine posture is of great interest for the effective prevention, evaluation, treatment and evolution monitoring of spinal disorders. Limitations of traditional imaging systems, including cost, radiation exposure (for X-ray based systems), projection volume issues and subject positioning requirements, etc., make non-invasive motion assessment tools effective alternatives for clinical and non-clinical use. In this work, a procedure was developed to obtain a subject-specific multibody model of the spine using either inertial or optical sensors and, based on this multibody model, to estimate the locations and orientations of the 17 vertebrae constituting the thoracolumbar spine. The number and calibration of the sensors, angular offsets, scaling difficulties and gender differences were addressed to achieve an accurate 3D-representation of the spine. The approach was validated by comparing the estimated positions of the sensors on 14 healthy subjects with those provided by an optical motion capture system. A mean position error of lower than 12 mm was obtained, thus showing that the proposed method can offer an effective non-invasive tool for the assessment of spine posture.

Abstract:Motivated by the need to incorporate human spine mechanics into the design loop of a wearable spine-assistive device to prevent low back pain, this article presents a novel method to model the spine as a series of pin-connected triangles and reconstruct its shape/curvature in the sagittal plane from the measured back profile along the pathlength between the neck and the pelvis by template matching without relying on the common assumption that the back profile and spine are parallel or medical images to calibrate the subject-specific parameters. The findings verify that the vertebrae of human spines are similar and can be scaled using an anatomically based spine as a template. Formulated as a constrained optimization problem to account for the deformable skin movements and subject-dependent variations [height/weight and subcutaneous fat tissue thickness (SFTT)], the templet-matching method that solves the template-feature positions eliminates common errors caused by tracking the skin markers as the points on the spine curve and is evaluated in two scenarios; both use the same template of an anatomically based spine. The first uses published magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data of eight subjects' standing and flexion postures to validate the method. The second illustrates its effectiveness using images captured by a commercial human motion-capturing system experimentally. As verified with X-ray images that serve as ground truth for comparison, the findings demonstrate that the method offers an effective tool to reveal the internal kinematics of the spine from the measured profile of the human back.

Abstract:Spine biomechanical testing methods in the past few decades have not evolved beyond employing either cadaveric studies or finite element modeling techniques. However, both these approaches may have inherent cost and time limitations. Cadaveric studies are the present gold standard for spinal implant design and regulatory approval, but they introduce significant variability in measurements across patients, often requiring large sample sizes. Finite element modeling demands considerable expertise and can be computationally expensive when complex geometry and material nonlinearity are introduced. Validated analogue spine models could complement these traditional methods as a low-cost and high-fidelity alternative. A fully 3D printable L-S1 analogue spine model with ligaments is developed and validated in this research. Rotational stiffness of the model under pure bending loading in flexion-extension, Lateral Bending (LB) and Axial Rotation (AR) is evaluated and compared against historical ex vivo and in silico models. Additionally, the effect of interspinous, intertransverse ligaments and the Thoracolumbar Fascia (TLF) on spinal stiffness is evaluated by systematic construction of the model. In flexion, model Range of Motion (ROM) was 12.92 ± 0.11° (ex vivo: 16.58°, in silico: 12.96°) at 7.5Nm. In LB, average ROM was 13.67 ± 0.12° at 7.5 Nm (ex vivo: 15.21 ± 1.89°, in silico: 15.49 ± 0.23°). Similarly, in AR, average ROM was 17.69 ± 2.12° at 7.5Nm (ex vivo: 14.12 ± 0.31°, in silico: 15.91 ± 0.28°). The addition of interspinous and intertransverse ligaments increased both flexion and LB stiffnesses by approximately 5%. Addition of TLF showed increase in flexion and AR stiffnesses by 29% and 24%, respectively. This novel model can reproduce physiological ROMs with high repeatability and could be a useful open-source tool in spine biomechanics.

Abstract:We propose a visualization application, designed for the exploration of human spine simulation data. Our goal is to support research in biomechanical spine simulation and advance efforts to implement simulation-backed analysis in surgical applications. Biomechanical simulation is a state-of-the-art technique for analyzing load distributions of spinal structures. Through the inclusion of patient-specific data, such simulations may facilitate personalized treatment and customized surgical interventions. Difficulties in spine modelling and simulation can be partly attributed to poor result representation, which may also be a hindrance when introducing such techniques into a clinical environment. Comparisons of measurements across multiple similar anatomical structures and the integration of temporal data make commonly available diagrams and charts insufficient for an intuitive and systematic display of results. Therefore, we facilitate methods such as multiple coordinated views, abstraction and focus and context to display simulation outcomes in a dedicated tool. By linking the result data with patient-specific anatomy, we make relevant parameters tangible for clinicians. Furthermore, we introduce new concepts to show the directions of impact force vectors, which were not accessible before. We integrated our toolset into a spine segmentation and simulation pipeline and evaluated our methods with both surgeons and biomechanical researchers. When comparing our methods against standard representations that are currently in use, we found increases in accuracy and speed in data exploration tasks. in a qualitative review, domain experts deemed the tool highly useful when dealing with simulation result data, which typically combines time-dependent patient movement and the resulting force distributions on spinal structures.

Abstract:Scoliosis is a disease caused by deformation of the spine, and precise imaging of human spine tissues is crucial and instructive for the subsequent treatment. Currently, radiographs are clinically used to monitor disease progress. However, radiation exposure is a safety concern and is undesirable for regular monitoring during rehabilitation intervention. In this study, we developed a novel technique to generate the 3D structure of human spine from a tracked freehand ultrasound scanning. First of all, we designed an approach for detection and location of every vertebra in the spine by firstly detecting the vertebral landmarks from the ultrasound B-scan sequence, then computing the size, location and posture of every vertebra and finally using a method of interpolation to form the whole spine according to the prior knowledge of vertebral anatomical structure. Deep learning based object detection methods were used to find the landmarks of the vertebrae, and those landmarks were then clustered to model every vertebra (i.e. computing its location, posture and real size). Due to the situations where the vertebra is not clearly seen, we therefore used the technique of interpolation to estimate the location of those missing vertebrae with respect to the anatomical prior. In addition, we reconnected all vertebral models and reappeared the whole spine in 3D space. With that, the Cobb angle could be easily measured. The phantom and in vivo experiments were also conducted to further verify the precision of the proposed approaches. The results have demonstrated its feasibility in the clinical practice of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patients (R2 = 0.9780,p < 0.001), which is beneficial for the regular quantitative monitoring of disease progression.

Abstract:This study presents a wireless wearable portable system designed for the automatic quantitative spatio-temporal analysis of continuous thoracic spine motion across various planes and degrees of freedom (DOF). This includes automatic motion segmentation, computation of the range of motion (ROM) for six distinct thoracic spine movements across three planes, tracking of motion completion cycles, and visualization of both primary and coupled thoracic spine motions. To validate the system, this study employed an Inter-days experimental setting to conduct experiments involving a total of 957 thoracic spine movements, with participation from two representatives of varying age and gender. The reliability of the proposed system was assessed using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC) and Standard Error of Measurement (SEM). The experimental results demonstrated strong ICC values for various thoracic spine movements across different planes, ranging from 0.774 to 0.918, with an average of 0.85. The SEM values ranged from 0.64° to 4.03°, with an average of 1.93°. Additionally, we successfully conducted an assessment of thoracic spine mobility in a stroke rehabilitation patient using the system. This illustrates the feasibility of the system for actively analyzing thoracic spine mobility, offering an effective technological means for non-invasive research on thoracic spine activity during continuous movement states.
Evaluating Lumbar Shape Deformation With Fabric Strain Sensors

Abstract:Objective: To better study human motion inside the space suit and suit-related contact, a multifactor statistical model was developed to predict torso body shape changes and lumbar motion during suited movement by using fabric strain sensors that are placed on the body. Background: Physical interactions within pressurized space suits can pose an injury risk for astronauts during extravehicular activity (EVA). In particular, poor suit fit can result in an injury due to reduced performance capabilities and excessive body contact within the suit during movement. A wearable solution is needed to measure body motion inside the space suit. Methods: An array of flexible strain sensors was attached to the body of 12 male study participants. The participants performed specific static lumbar postures while 3D body scans and sensor measurements were collected. A model was created to predict the body shape as a function of sensor signal and the accuracy was evaluated using holdout cross-validation. Results: Predictions from the torso shape model had an average root mean square error (RMSE) of 2.02 cm. Subtle soft tissue deformations such as skin folding and bulges were accurately replicated in the shape prediction. Differences in posture type did not affect the prediction error. Conclusion: This method provides a useful tool for suited testing and the information gained will drive the development of injury countermeasures and improve suit fit assessments. Application: In addition to space suit design applications, this technique can provide a lightweight and wearable system to perform ergonomic evaluations in field assessments.
Three-dimensional spinal shape changes during daily activities

Abstract:Motivation: Intuitive assessment of spinal motion poses a tremendous challenge to both physicians and computer modelers. On the one side, medically detailed analyses of spinal shapes, such as computer tomography or X-ray images, are usually subject to static boundary constraints, thereby omitting dynamic information. On the other side, complex computer simulations often lack proper calibration aside from few control points, particularly regarding the three-dimensional arrangement of the spinal column and its idiomotion. Purpose: Here, we investigate whether the full three-dimensional changes in spinal shape over time can be concisely detected and depicted. Further, we assess which parts of the spine undergo significant changes during various daily activities. Methods: We utilize a set of previously published motion capture data from the spinous processes (sacrum up to vertebra C7) of 17 healthy individuals performing the daily tasks of standing, walking, stair climbing, sitting down, and lifting. These three-dimensional, time-dependent marker positions were approximated by a Bézier curve at each time instant. The curves' characteristics, i.e.curvature and torsion, were calculated and juxtaposed for each individual and each activity over time. A statistical parametric mapping revealed significant changes in spinal shape. Results: We found the individual spinal shape characteristics being recognizably preserved during all activities. The walking task did not significantly alter the spinal curvature, while sitting and forward bending significantly altered the lumber and whole spine curvature, respectively. Torsion did not show any significant alterations. Conclusion: Based on these results, we suggest that individualized dynamic information on spinal shapes can improve (i) the evaluation of (healthy) motion characteristics, (ii) the detection of pathologies, and (iii) individualized computer simulation models.
Skin marker-based subject-specific spinal alignment modeling: A feasibility study

Abstract:Musculoskeletal models have the potential to improve diagnosis and optimize clinical treatment by predicting accurate outcomes on an individual basis. However, the subject-specific modeling of spinal alignment is often strongly simplified or is based on radiographic assessments, exposing subjects to unnecessary radiation. We therefore developed a novel skin marker-based approach for modeling subject-specific spinal alignment and evaluated its feasibility by comparing the predicted with the actual intervertebral joint (IVJ) locations/orientations (ground truth) using lateral-view radiographic images. Moreover, the predictive performance of the subject-specific models was evaluated by comparing the predicted L1/L2 spinal loads during various functional activities with in vivo measured data obtained from the OrthoLoad database. IVJ locations/orientations were predicted closer to ground truth as opposed to standard model scaling, with average location prediction errors of 0.99+/-0.68 cm on the frontal and 1.21+/-0.97 cm on the transverse axis as well as an average orientation prediction error of 4.74°+/-2.80°. Simulated spinal loads showed similar curve patterns but considerably larger values as compared to in vivo measured data. Differences in spinal loads between generic and subject-specific models become only apparent on an individual subject level. These results underline the feasibility of the proposed method and associated workflow for inter- and intra-subject investigations using musculoskeletal simulations. When implemented into standard model scaling workflows, it is expected to improve the accuracy of muscle activity and joint loading simulations, which is crucial for investigations of treatment effects or pathology-dependent deviations.

Abstract:In order to conduct surface monitoring of the three-dimensional spine morphology of the human body in daily life, a spine morphology measuring method using "single camera, multi-view" to construct stereo vision is proposed. The images of the back of the human body with landmarks of spinous process are captured from multiple angles by moving a single camera, and based on the "Zhang Zhengyou calibration method" and the triangulation principle of binocular stereo vision, the spatial conversion matrices corresponding to each other between all images and the 3D coordinates of the landmarks are calculated. Then the spine evaluation angle used to evaluate the spine morphology is further calculated. The tests' results showed that the spine evaluation angle error of this method is within ±3°, and the correlation between the results and the X-ray film Cobb angles is 0.871. The visual detection algorithm used in this paper is non-radioactive, and because only one camera is used in the measurement process and there is no need to pre-set the camera's shooting pose, the operation is simple. The research results of this article can be used in a mobile phone-based intelligent detection system, which will be suitable for the group survey of scoliosis in communities, schools, families and other occasions, as well as for the long-term follow-up of confirmed patients. This will provide a reference for doctors to diagnose the condition, predict the development trend of the condition, and formulate treatment plans.
3D Spine Model Reconstruction Based on RGBD Images of Unclothed Back Surface

Abstract:Most 3D spine reconstruction methods require X-ray images as input, which usually leads to high cost and radiation damage. Therefore, these methods are hardly ever applied to large scale scoliosis screening or spine pose monitoring during treatment. We propose a novel, low-cost, easy-to-operate and none-radioactive 3D spine model reconstruction method, which is based on human back surface information without requiring X-ray images as input. Our method fits a pre-built Spine Priors Model (SPrM) to human back surface information and reconstructs the main part of spine with 17 vertebrae: lumbar vertebrae L1-L5 and thoracic vertebrae T1-T12. The Spine Priors Model is constructed according to human spine priors, including Statistical Spine Shape Model (SSSM), Spine Pose Model (SPM) and Spine Biomechanical Simplified Model (SBSM). The spine-related information on back surface, including back surface spinous curve and local symmetry nearby spinous curve is extracted from the RGBD images of human back surface. We formulate the spine optimization constraints from spine-related feature on back surface and spine priors, then optimize the spine model by gradient descent to get the optimal personalized shape parameters and pose parameters of the Spine Priors Model. We assess our reconstruction by scoliosis Cobb angle error, and the result is comparable to current X-ray based methods.

Abstract:Abstract This paper proposes a novel wearable device to monitor and record the posture and alignment of spine. The proposed device adopts an underactuated mechanism design which allows it to adapt to the multiple-degrees-of-freedom spinal posture with minimum weight and complexity. To ensure the validity of measurement and comfort of wearing, the mechanism parameters are determined first by considering a special posture and then are fine-tuned using an optimization algorithm so that uniform contact forces for several selected spinal postures can be achieved. Experiments demonstrate that the device can automatically maintain contact with the wearer’s back and offer real-time spinal posture and alignment data for medical diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract:Scoliosis often occurs in adolescents and seriously affects physical development and health. Traditionally, medical imaging is the most common means of evaluating the corrective effect of bracing during treatment. However, the imaging approach falls short in providing real-time feedback, and the optimal corrective force remains unclear, potentially slowing the patient's recovery progress. To tackle these challenges, an all-in-one integrated array of pressure sensors and sEMG electrodes based on hierarchical MXene/chitosan/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/polyurethane sponge and MXene/polyimide (PI) is developed. Benefiting from the microstructured electrodes and the modulus enhancement of PDMS, the sensor demonstrates a high sensitivity of 444.3 kPa-1 and a broad linear detection range (up to 81.6 kPa). With the help of electrostatic attraction of chitosan and interface locking of PDMS, the pressure sensor achieves remarkable stability of over 100 000 cycles. Simultaneously, the sEMG electrodes offer exceptional stretchability and flexibility, functioning effectively at 60% strain, which ensures precise signal capture for various human motions. After integrating the developed all-in-one arrays into a commercial scoliosis brace, the system can accurately categorize human motion and predict Cobb angles aided by deep learning. This study provides real-time insights into brace effectiveness and patient progress, offering new ideas for improving the efficiency of scoliosis treatment.
Predicting spinal column profile from surface topography via 3D non-contact surface scanning

Abstract:Introduction: 3D Non-Contact surface scanning (3DSS) is used in both biomechanical and clinical studies to capture accurate 3D images of the human torso, and to better understand the shape and posture of the spine-both healthy and pathological. This study sought to determine the efficacy and accuracy of using 3DSS of the posterior torso, to determine the curvature of the spinal column in the lateral lying position. Methods: A cohort of 50 healthy adults underwent 3DSS and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to correlate the contours of the external spine surface with the internal spinal column. The correlation analysis was composed of two phases: (1) MRI vertebral points vs MRI external spine surface markers; and (2) MRI external spine surface markers vs 3DSS external spine surface markers. The first phase compared the profiles of fiducial markers (vitamin capsules) adhered to the skin surface over the spinous processes against the coordinates of the spinous processes-assessing the linear distance between the profiles, and similarity of curvature, in the sagittal and coronal planes. The second phase compared 3DSS external spine surface markers with the MRI external spine surface markers in both planes, with further qualitative assessment for postural changes. Results: The distance between the MRI vertebral points and MRI external spine surface markers showed strong statistically significant correlation with BMI in both sagittal and coronal planes. Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) tests showed similar no significant difference in curvature, k, in almost all participants on both planes. In the second phase, the coronal 3DSS external spine surface profiles were statistically different to the MRI external spine surface markers in 44% of participants. Qualitative assessment showed postural changes between MRI and 3DSS measurements in these participants. Conclusion: These study findings demonstrate the utility and accuracy of using anatomical landmarks overlaid on the spinous processes, to identify the position of the spinal bones using 3DSS. Using this method, it will be possible to predict the internal spinal curvature from surface topography, provided that the thickness of the overlaying subcutaneous adipose layer is considered, thus enabling postural analysis of spinal shape and curvature to be carried out in biomechanical and clinical studies without the need for radiographic imaging.

Abstract:Spine biomechanics is at a transformation with the advent and integration of machine learning and computer vision technologies. These novel techniques facilitate the estimation of 3D body shapes, anthropometrics, and kinematics from as simple as a single-camera image, making them more accessible and practical for a diverse range of applications. This study introduces a framework that merges these methodologies with traditional musculoskeletal modeling, enabling comprehensive analysis of spinal biomechanics during complex activities from a single camera. Additionally, we aim to evaluate their performance and limitations in spine biomechanics applications. The real-world applications explored in this study include assessment in workplace lifting, evaluation of whiplash injuries in car accidents, and biomechanical analysis in professional sports. Our results demonstrate potential and limitations of various algorithms in estimating body shape, kinematics, and conducting in-field biomechanical analyses. In industrial settings, the potential to utilize these new technologies for biomechanical risk assessments offers a pathway for preventive measures against back injuries. In sports activities, the proposed framework provides new opportunities for performance optimization, injury prevention, and rehabilitation. The application in forensic domain further underscores the wide-reaching implications of this technology. While certain limitations were identified, particularly in accuracy of predictions, complex interactions, and external load estimation, this study demonstrates their potential for advancement in spine biomechanics, heralding an optimistic future in both research and practical applications.

Abstract:Monitoring the curvature of the lumbar spine is important for determining the incidence of lower back pain and other spinal disorders in individuals undergoing physical therapy and rehabilitation and in the field of sports medicine. Especially, to recognize and prevent habitual incorrect spinal curves, a well-suited measurement system is required. In this study, a wearable smart sensing system integrating four flexible sensors and three inertial measurement unit sensors with machine learning was developed. The proposed system was tested on 20 subjects to evaluate its performance. In the experiment, 11 postures were tested using five classes as targets. A feature extraction algorithm was proposed for generating 52 features based on a combination of seven different sensor signals and building classification algorithms for detecting spine events based on the extracted features. The accuracies for classifying five levels of spine curves were 99.38% overall and 99.79% in a tenfold cross-validation test, respectively. The proposed method can estimate spine curve class levels without personalized calibrations.

Characterizing the Sensing Response of Carbon Nanocomposite-Based Wearable Sensors on Elbow Joint Using an End Point Robot and Virtual Reality

Abstract:Physical therapy is often essential for complete recovery after injury. However, a significant population of patients fail to adhere to prescribed exercise regimens. Lack of motivation and inconsistent in-person visits to physical therapy are major contributing factors to suboptimal exercise adherence, slowing the recovery process. With the advancement of virtual reality (VR), researchers have developed remote virtual rehabilitation systems with sensors such as inertial measurement units. A functional garment with an integrated wearable sensor can also be used for real-time sensory feedback in VR-based therapeutic exercise and offers affordable remote rehabilitation to patients. Sensors integrated into wearable garments offer the potential for a quantitative range of motion measurements during VR rehabilitation. In this research, we developed and validated a carbon nanocomposite-coated knit fabric-based sensor worn on a compression sleeve that can be integrated with upper-extremity virtual rehabilitation systems. The sensor was created by coating a commercially available weft knitted fabric consisting of polyester, nylon, and elastane fibers. A thin carbon nanotube composite coating applied to the fibers makes the fabric electrically conductive and functions as a piezoresistive sensor. The nanocomposite sensor, which is soft to the touch and breathable, demonstrated high sensitivity to stretching deformations, with an average gauge factor of ~35 in the warp direction of the fabric sensor. Multiple tests are performed with a Kinarm end point robot to validate the sensor for repeatable response with a change in elbow joint angle. A task was also created in a VR environment and replicated by the Kinarm. The wearable sensor can measure the change in elbow angle with more than 90% accuracy while performing these tasks, and the sensor shows a proportional resistance change with varying joint angles while performing different exercises. The potential use of wearable sensors in at-home virtual therapy/exercise was demonstrated using a Meta Quest 2 VR system with a virtual exercise program to show the potential for at-home measurements.
Recognizing Human Activity of Daily Living Using a Flexible Wearable for 3D Spine Pose Tracking

Abstract:The World Health Organization recognizes physical activity as an influencing domain on quality of life. Monitoring, evaluating, and supervising it by wearable devices can contribute to the early detection and progress assessment of diseases such as Alzheimer's, rehabilitation, and exercises in telehealth, as well as abrupt events such as a fall. In this work, we use a non-invasive and non-intrusive flexible wearable device for 3D spine pose measurement to monitor and classify physical activity. We develop a comprehensive protocol that consists of 10 indoor, 4 outdoor, and 8 transition states activities in three categories of static, dynamic, and transition in order to evaluate the applicability of the flexible wearable device in human activity recognition. We implement and compare the performance of three neural networks: long short-term memory (LSTM), convolutional neural network (CNN), and a hybrid model (CNN-LSTM). For ground truth, we use an accelerometer and strips data. LSTM reached an overall classification accuracy of 98% for all activities. The CNN model with accelerometer data delivered better performance in lying down (100%), static (standing = 82%, sitting = 75%), and dynamic (walking = 100%, running = 100%) positions. Data fusion improved the outputs in standing (92%) and sitting (94%), while LSTM with the strips data yielded a better performance in bending-related activities (bending forward = 49%, bending backward = 88%, bending right = 92%, and bending left = 100%), the combination of data fusion and principle components analysis further strengthened the output (bending forward = 100%, bending backward = 89%, bending right = 100%, and bending left = 100%). Moreover, the LSTM model detected the first transition state that is similar to fall with the accuracy of 84%. The results show that the wearable device can be used in a daily routine for activity monitoring, recognition, and exercise supervision, but still needs further improvement for fall detection.
