Abstract:Many landslides can cause significant damage to infrastructure, property, and human life. To study landslide structure and processes, geophysical techniques are most productive when employed in combination with other survey and monitoring tools, such as intrusive sampling. Here, the integration of electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and seismic refraction tomography (SRT) methods is used to assess landslides in Thungsong district, Nakhon Si Thammarat, the south of Thailand, where is a hilly and seasons of prolonged rainfall region. The 2D cross-plot analysis of P-wave velocity and resistivity values obtained by these two methods is introduced to identify potential landslide-prone zones in this region. The results of the 2D cross-plot model reveal detailed image of the subsurface conditions, highlighting areas of low P-wave velocity (lower than 600 m/s) and low resistivity (lower than 600 Ωm). These areas are indicative of weak zone and are potential to be sliding materials. Moreover, an intrusive sampling data from boreholes is also used for the calibration and validation geophysical data with geological data. This can improve the accuracy of landslide assessment and develop effective mitigation strategies to reduce the risk of landslides in this area. In addition of the 2D cross-plot, the volume of sliding material is also determined from the difference of the surface and slipping plane elevations. The volume calculation of sliding material is roughly 33447.76 m 3 . This approach provides a preliminary tool for landslide studies and monitoring landslides in this region, thus enabling an improved understanding of slope failure processes in this context, and the basis of a landslide mitigation strategy in the future.

Abstract:Transient seepage in unsaturated soil slope is one of the significant triggering factors in rainfall-induced landslides. Rainfall infiltration leads to the decrease in stabilizing effect because of increased positive pore-water pressures. SEEP/W and SLOPE/W used in this study have been widely employed to describe frameworks for understanding transient seepage in soil slope, and to perform slope stability analyses, respectively. The study area is in Sichon District in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, southern Thailand. A landslide there was investigated by modeling the process of rainfall infiltration under positive and negative pore-water pressures and their effects on slope stability. GIS (Geographic Information System) and geotechnical laboratory results were used as input parameters. The van Genuchten’s soil water characteristic curve and unsaturated permeability function were used to estimate surface infiltration rates. An average rainfall was derived from 30-year monthly rainfall data between 1981 and 2011 in this area reported by the Thailand Royal Irrigation Department. For transient condition, finite element analysis in SEEP/W was employed to model fluctuations in pore-water pressure during a rainfall, using the computed water infiltration rates as surface boundary conditions. SLOPE/W employing Bishop simplified method was then carried out to compute their factors of safety, and antecedent precipitation indices (API) calculated. Heterogeneous slope at the site became unstable at an average critical API (APIcr) of 380 mm, agreeing well with the actual value of 388 mm.

Abstract:Landslides in colluvial soils under rainfall have been identified as a significant problem due to their loose, heterogeneous nature and low shear strength. Evaluation of the stability of colluvial slopes under rainfall conditions is challenging. This study investigated two landslide failure case studies of colluvial soils to understand the failure patterns using finite element (FE) and limit equilibrium (LE) slope stability analysis methods under unsaturated conditions. Transient seepage conditions due to rainfall infiltration and failure were analysed using hydromechanical models. Here, a FE fully coupled hydromechanical model and a sequential coupling of a FE hydrological and LE mechanical model were used to evaluate the failure of variably saturated slopes. Results from the case studies revealed that the failure occurred due to the rise in the groundwater table in both cases. It was evident that there can be significant disparities in the pore water pressure profiles with the fully coupled and sequentially coupled analysis. The dynamic capability of the two models can also affect the interplay between the hydrological and mechanical aspects. When the thickness of the colluvium layer is large, the failure could potentially occur as a deep-seated failure along the boundary of overburden and the bedrock surface due to the large driving force. However, when the thickness is small, failure can occur along the colluvium-weathered rock surface. The outcomes from the study will contribute to mitigate the uncertainty of failure prediction of landslides in colluvial soils.

Abstract:A ground model of a shallow landslide in rainfall-induced slope failure of Thungsong, Nakhon Si Thammarat, southern Thailand is developed through an integrated geophysical approach, utilising electrical resistivity tomography and P-wave seismic refraction tomography (SRT) methods. Those two methods were applied to assess landslide structure and study deformation mechanisms along four profiles. Beside the four profiles there is another profile, which was acquired near an borehole and used for the calibration with geological data. Our results show subsurface structures in terms of the ground model used to determine stratigraphic layers, zones of saturation or groundwater table, and significant differences between the landslide slip material and the underlying bedrock. The clay-rich zones (resistivity less than 500 Ωm) in the colluvium on the relatively steep slope, show enhanced potential for landslides. This silty clay plays an important role for landslide activation in this site. Moreover, a combination of steep slopes, shallow basement rocks overlain by clay-rich colluvium, and seasonally high rain fall leads to landslides in the region. The ground model produced by geophysical imaging for this region achieves a comprehensive understanding of the structure and lithology of a complex landslide system and overcomes the limitations of remote-sensing data or isolated intrusive sampling techniques alone.
Failure analysis on a heavy rainfall-induced landslide in Huay Khab Mountain in Northern Thailand

Abstract:On 28th July 2018, a massive landslide occurred in a mountainous area in Northern Thailand. The landslide after ten days of heavy rainfall generated the movement of uphill mountain soil into the populated village. This study presents a comprehensive failure analysis of local rainfall-induced landslides based on topographical and geological information. Rainfall measurement data were gathered from two rainfall stations close to the study area. The rainfall records show that the total monthly rainfalls in 2018 were significantly higher than the average monthly rainfalls over the past decade. Site investigation started with an unmanned aerial photogrammetric survey to generate a digital elevation model. Then, dynamic probing test, microtremor survey, and electrical resistivity survey were carried out along undisturbed soils beside the failed slope to evaluate the thickness of the soft soil cover on top of the rock basement. During the site survey, residual soil samples were collected to determine engineering properties in the laboratory. Finally, a slope stability analysis was performed to assess the landslide hazard based on the results of aerial photogrammetric survey, field exploration, and laboratory tests. The slope stability analysis and rainfall records revealed that the Huay Khab landslide was mainly caused by an increase in the water content of residual soils due to the prolonged rainfall which led to a sharp decrease in the shear strength. This leads to the conclusion that the proposed landslide investigation program could be used to assess the potential of landslide failure due to prolonged rainfall on a local scale.

Abstract:Local collapse or even overall movement may occur due to excavation at the slope toe, especially when there is a weak interlayer in the stratum. This process frequently produces many tension cracks on the slope surface, increases the sensitivity of groundwater to rainfall and thus promotes the development of landslide. The Houpucun landslide, which is located in Tonglu County, Zhejiang Province of China, is a typical case in which the weak interlayer and the tension crack play an important role in triggering the slope instability. In this study, the deformation process and the hydraulic characteristics of this landslide were analyzed based on monitoring of the slope displacement, rainfall and hydraulic head. The results show that the slope deformation has a strong correlation with rainfall and groundwater table. The large number of cracks on the slope surface provide favorable conditions for the infiltration of rainfall and that the hydraulic head rise rapidly under the action of rainfall. Because the mechanical strength of the weak interlayer greatly decreases when saturated, the slope is prone to failure under rainfall. Numerical simulations were carried out to compare the stability of the slope before and after rainfall. The results show that the factor of safety of the slope is close to one once the weak interlayer is immersed by groundwater. A new siphon drainage technique was employed to control the groundwater table and improve the stability of the slope, which has proven to be a practicable and efficient countermeasure for the case in hand.

Abstract:Landslides are prevalent throughout the world and pose a significant threat to the natural and social environment. The variability of material properties, landslide kinematics, and interference from external human activities make landslides active at intermittent displacement rates for long periods of time, causing authorities to be unable to accurately target high-risk areas and take appropriate mitigation measures. This paper proposes a circular, full-process dynamic landslide risk assessment framework considering the active state of the potential landslide affected area based on InSAR technology, allowing risk ranking of evaluation objects (e.g. village, landslide) in the study area and detection of areas requiring risk mitigation measures. The method is applied in the Liuyang City, Hunan Province in China where several villages are widely affected by landslides that cause serious damages to buildings and infrastructure resulting in significant economic losses, which can profitably facilitate the decision makers in addressing the issue of the potential landslide risk mitigation in a sustainable way.

Abstract:Landslide is one of water-related disasters which occurs frequently in Thailand. However, studies of landslides related to hydrological models in Thailand were still limited. Therefore, this study applied the hydrological model to evaluate occurrences of landslides in Thailand. The study area was Huai Nam Phung Subbasin, where there were 63 shallow landslides found during 2016–2017. A temporal change of groundwater level was calculated from meteorological data by TOPography-based hydrological MODEL (TOPMODEL). After that, slope stability safety factors at different times and locations were calculated from the groundwater levels and physical characteristics of the area. The results reveal that the landslides occurred in 2017 rather than 2016 due to high volume of water in that year. The slopes became unstable in steep slope areas, and this instability extended to gentler slope areas when more water accumulated. According to the slope stability on 30 October 2017, the day with most unstable areas during the study, all of the 63 found landslides were in the unstable areas. On that day, there were 7 mountainous sub-catchments where more than 80% of the slopes were unstable. Most of the unstable areas were in the western part of the study area. Both consecutive heavy downpours over a long period of time and individual heavy downpours can cause slopes to become unstable. The finding of this study suggests that landslide early warning systems are required for the steep slope areas in the Huai Nam Phung Subbasin and the hydrological data should be monitored for the warning.

Abstract:Changes in land use significantly impact landslide occurrence, particularly in mountainous areas in northern Thailand, where human activities such as urbanization, deforestation, and slope modifications alter natural slope angles, increasing susceptibility to landslides. To address this issue, an appropriate method using soilbags has been widely used for slope stabilisation in northern Thailand, but their effectiveness and sustainability require assessment. This research highlights the need to evaluate the stability of the soilbag-based method. In this study, a case study was conducted in northern Thailand, focusing on an area characterised by high-risk landslide potential. This research focuses on numerical evaluation the slope stability of soilbag-reinforced structures and discusses environmental sustainability. The study includes site investigations using an unmanned aerial photogrammetric survey for slope geometry evaluation and employing the microtremor survey technique for subsurface investigation. Soil and soilbag material parameters are obtained from existing literatures. Modelling incorporates hydrological data, slope geometry, subsurface conditions, and material parameters. Afterwards, the pore-water pressure results and safety factors are analysed. Finally, the sustainability of soilbags is discussed based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The results demonstrate that soilbags effectively mitigate pore-water pressures, improve stability, and align with several SDGs objectives. This study enhances understanding of soilbags in slope stabilisation and introduces a sustainable landslide mitigation approach for landslide-prone regions.
Progressive deformation mechanism of colluvial landslides induced by rainfall: insights from long-term field monitoring and numerical study

Abstract:Colluvial landslides develop in loose Quaternary deposits, with deformation generally being progressive and crack development dominant in the sliding mass surface layer. With the Tanjiawan landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir (China) as a case study, field investigations, deformation monitoring, and groundwater level monitoring data were integrated to analyze the landslide deformation characteristics and elucidate the influence of cracks on its deformation. We used numerical simulations, including the finite element and discrete element methods, for investigating the progressive deformation mechanism of rainfall-triggered landslides in the accumulation layer and predicting the failure process. The results indicated that crack formation instigated a preferential seepage channel in the shallow layer of the sliding mass, rainfall infiltration along cracks generated water pressure, and the landslide gradually morphed from a stable into a "step-like" progressive deformation state. Preferential flow inside the cracks effectively elevated the groundwater level within the landslide, and either the number or depth of cracks significantly affected the groundwater seepage field, thereby influencing slide stability. Geological conditions controlled the deformation and failure processes of each landslide section. The uplifted bedrock on the right side blocked the sliding process of the rear sliding mass, and the middle and front sliding masses moved faster but the sliding distance was shorter. The deformation trend is deformation, crack formation, preferential flow occurrence, crack extension, and deformation. The ultimate cause of failure was a steep rise in groundwater level following short duration heavy rainfall or long duration light rainfall.

Abstract:Shallow landslides are a common type of rainfall-induced landslide, and various methods are currently used to predict their occurrence on a regional scale. Physically based models, such as the shallow landslide instability prediction (SLIP) model, have many advantages because these models can assess the hazards of shallow landslides dynamically, based on physical stability equations that consider rainfall as a triggering factor. The main objective of this research is to test the SLIP model’s potential to predict shallow landslide hazards in Thailand. To achieve this goal, the SLIP model was applied to two massive landslide events in Thailand. The results predicted by the SLIP model for the two study areas are outlined, and the model prediction capabilities were evaluated using the receiver operating characteristic plot. The Phetchabun results showed that the western part of the catchment had the lowest factor of safety (FS) value, whereas the Krabi results showed that the slopes surrounding the peak of Khao Panom Mountain had the lowest FS value, explaining the highest potentials for shallow landslides in each area. The SLIP model showed good performance: The global accuracies were 0.828 for the Phetchabun area and 0.824 for the Krabi area. The SLIP model predicted the daily time-varying percentage of unstable areas over the analyzed periods. The SLIP model simulated a negligible percentage of unstable areas over all considered periods, except for expected dates, suggesting that the prediction capability is reasonably accurate.

Abstract:Studies on rainfall-induced landslides are essential for protecting the lives and property in hilly regions. Augmented numerical investigation considering geotechnical, geological, and environmental parameters of the slope for the past landslides and potential slip surfaces helps in identifying appropriate triggering mechanisms and preventive measures. In this work, numerical modelling was carried out for predicting the time of landslide occurrence of a shallow landslide based on the laboratory estimated soil water characteristic curve (SWCC) data, net rainfall infiltration, runoff, and geological characteristics of the study area. The accurate estimation of the SWCC was vital in the back-analysis of a landslide as SWCC directly governs the hydraulic and shear strength characteristics of the unsaturated slope. Instantaneously measured SWCC by the sensors severely overestimated the suction values for a given water content for the studied soil at different compaction densities. The back-analyzed rainfall-induced slope stability analysis of the case study showed that the estimated factor of safety variation with time by using the conventional SWCC estimation was inconsistent with the observed time of failure. A laboratory method was proposed to evaluate "equilibrium SWCC" data to account for the hydraulic equilibrium between the suction sensor and the field soil. The equilibrium SWCC data accurately predicted the time of landslide occurrence and slip surface. Further, the present study also highlighted the significance of the field density and net rainfall infiltration, considering climatic data, on forensic investigations through sensitivity analysis.

Abstract:The causes of mass movement, which occurred on the 5 th October 2021 at Tongo-Gadima and damage grouting drainage infrastructure of the national road, are examined in this paper, in order to set up the novel procedure for investigating landslide in an area with limited inventory geotechnical data. They are evaluated by estimating the annual precipitation on 12-year period and analyzing the relevant geotechnical parameters: water content, degree of saturation, consistency limits, grain size distribution, linear shear strength, uniaxial compressive strength, compressibility test on samples collected on the field in order to understand the behavior of lateritic soil exposed under rainfall as well as zonation of slopes. This investigation will, in turn, enable the stakeholders to implement appropriate mitigation measures across the landslide-induce area. The main characteristics such as concave slope, shallow slid surface occurrence, and rotational trend of Tongo-Gadima landslide were influenced by high annual rainfall reaching the average of 1540 mm. The zonation analysis identified steeping slope (> 20°) called escarpment landscape. High values of water content and degree of saturation induced the swelling behavior of unsaturated soil. It has high plasticity in the lower and median set made up of more than 30% fine clay. The internal friction angle and material cohesion showed poor characteristic 35° and 0.11 bar respectively. The low uniaxial compressive strength ranging between 1.77 and 7.87 MPa suggests that the complete meteoric weathering of rock and the C c /(1 + e 0 ) > 0.20 ratio confirms the very compressible property of soil. The evidence of thixotropic rheoliquefier pattern of the clay matric mixed with gravel and sand is detrimental when meteoric water infiltration transforms the material into landslide-prone mud under constraint. Poor drainage has considerably increased water saturation of clay particles in the prism of rupture and weak mechanical properties of soil have been at the origin of landslide in Tongo-Gadima. Instrumentation and monitoring of slope are the first action to be taken to mitigate landslide in the region.

Analysis of shallow landslide mechanism of expansive soil slope under rainfall: a case study

Abstract:An expansive soil slope of a high-speed railway under construction in Yunnan suffered a local collapse after a heavy rainfall. The expansive soil on this slope surface is prone to slip and collapse under the action of rainfall. The analysis of water sensitivity reveals the attenuation law of the shear strength of the expansive soil. With the increase in the water content, the shear strength of the expansive soil decreases significantly. Wet–dry cycles also significantly lower the shear strength of the expansive soil. In addition, a high-density electrical method test is performed on the expansive soil slope to determine the structural characteristics of the internal soil. The test results indicate that the internal soil of the slope exhibits poor mechanical properties and contains fissures and cracks, which are also the factors that caused the landslide. The finite element software, ABAQUS, is used to analyze the impact of rainfall on the expansive soil slope. The results reveal that the soil at a depth of approximately 2 m below the surface reaches complete saturation after 24 h of rainfall, and the plastic failure zone is mainly distributed on the surface and toe of the slope. Based on the electrical test results, the slope soil material is classified into saturated, fissured, and non-fissured soil zones. The stability analysis results reveal that the sliding surface is circular and in the shallow layer of the slope, and the sliding depth is 2–3 m. Although the depth of the landslide mass is not large, almost the entire slope surface soil undergoes plastic failure, resulting in a large area of slippage.

Abstract:Occurrence of loess landslide has been more frequent due to the drastic global climate change, rapid expansion of human disturbances and continuous intensification of engineering activities. The activation and evolution mechanisms of the loess landslides under the rainfall are yet to be studied. In this paper, with reference to the Yangpoyao slope with seepage fissures under rainfall, an adjustable-angle landslide model test system is developed, integrating the rainfall simulation system, the measurement system and the data acquisition system, and the deformation development of the model, the rainfall infiltration, the change of water content and the destructive process of the model are monitored by the monitoring technology of multi-means and multi-methods throughout the course of the disaster. A distributed fibre-optic sensor system with the characteristics of continuity and high precision is used to monitor the temperature and strain within the slope model. The deformation evolution mechanism of fissured loess slopes under rainfall was elucidated through the observation of experimental phenomena and the analysis of the internal strain values of the soil, as measured by fibre optic sensors. The experimental results show that the collapse process of loess slopes can be categorised into three types, i.e. sinkhole collapse, block collapse and gully collapse, and that the deformation and damage patterns of the loess landslide model are mainly caused by shallow soil movement induced by erosion. Through the comparative analysis of the model test and the photographs of the field investigation, it is further demonstrated that the damage pattern shown in the physical model test is basically consistent with the slope condition of the real Yangpoyao slope, which provides a new theoretical reference for natural disaster prediction and management of loess slopes and landslides.

Abstract:This paper aimed to study the soil–water characteristics and stability evolution law of rainfall-induced landslide. Taking the two landslide events in Siwan village as an example, the formation conditions of the disaster and landslide characteristics were analyzed. Additionally, the deformation characteristics and destruction mechanisms of landslides were discussed in-depth. The soil–water characteristics and hydraulic conductivity of the landslides were analyzed based on TRIM experiment results. Geo-Studio numerical software was further used for typical sections to analyze the stability of the evolution of the landslide events under rainfall conditions. The results showed that (1) The soil–water characteristic curve (SWCC) inversely varies with water content volume, and the sliding body has lower saturated water content and matrix suction than the sliding zone. The hydraulic conductivity function (HCF) increases with water content volume, and the sliding body has higher hydraulic conductivity (0.43 m/d) than the sliding zone (0.03 m/d). (2) Rainfall is the primary cause of landslides, and there is a hysteretic effect. Heavy rainfall will inevitably accelerate the formation of landslides in the analysis of the deformation characteristics and destruction mechanisms of rainfall-induced landslides. (3) Compared with the engineering analogy of the Fredlund and Xing (FX) model, the Van Genuchten–Mualem (VGM) model of the soil–water characteristics test based on the TRIM experimental system can better reflect the actual field situation. The numerical simulation method based on the TRIM experiments of the soil–water characteristics test is scientifically sound and reliable for the stability evolution of overburden rainfall-induced landslides.

Abstract:Based upon the use of a new predictive algorithm, three peptides were synthesized that correspond to likely antigenic sites of the cytotoxic T cell-specific protease cytotoxic cell protein 1 (CCP1). Antibodies raised against these peptides, under reducing conditions, bound to a single protein of m.w. 29,000 found in two actively cytotoxic T cells. This protein was absent from a "cytotoxic" T cell line that had lost its cytolytic properties. By using immunocytologic techniques, the protein was localized within cytoplasmic granules. In addition, granules purified from the cytoplasm of cytotoxic T cells were shown, by Western blot analysis, to contain the protein. The molecule detected by the antibodies behaves, upon reduction, similarly to a diisopropylfluorophosphate-binding protein. Thus, here we provide evidence that CCP1, a protein whose expression correlates with cytotoxicity, is contained within organelles which have been implicated in killing. These findings strongly suggest that CCP1 plays a key role in T cell-mediated target cell lysis.

Abstract:Soil bioengineering in which pioneer plants are incorporated with simple structures such as flapped soil bags and erosion-control mats was implemented at Ban Na Tum, Surat Thani Province, Southern Thailand, a slope that suffered a major rainfall-induced landslide in 2011; these improvement methods were meant to rectify the landslide damages and restore the ecosystem of the area. This study investigates the performance of the bioengineering techniques employed at Ban Na Tum by means of 3D stability-seepage modelling. The analysis considers the influence of different land uses based on digital terrain model using unmanned aerial vehicle photogrammetry. A detailed site investigation was conducted which included soil boring, standard penetration tests, light-weight penetration tests, field density tests, resistivity surveying, and ground aeration sound tests to develop 3D soil stratigraphy and hydro-geological models. The height and perimeter of trees were selectively measured at the site to make corrections of the surface model. The analysis results revealed that the critical locations on slopes (i.e., the lowest factor of safety) were not necessarily stationary but could change with on-going water infiltration and seepage. In summary, the bioengineered slope covered with early-stage pioneer plants and rubber trees had a lower stability factor of safety than the natural forest, meaning that the surface slope covered with the early-stage pioneer plants is more likely to fail during heavy rainfall. These findings highlight the importance of incorporating land use in 3D stability modelling, as land coverage can have notable influences on slope stability.

Abstract:The reactivation of colluvial landslides in reservoir banks poses a serious threat to the safety of hydropower projects and nearby towns. This study aims to research the morphological evolution of this type of landslides under the action of reservoir water and the impact of morphological evolution on landslide stability. The study focused on the Yulinerzu landslide, a large reactivated colluvial landslide in the Xiluodu Reservoir, China. Field surveys were conducted to analyze the geological structure of the landslide. In situ monitoring and surveys were used to obtain the deformation characteristics and morphological evolution of the landslide. A combined seepage-slope stability analysis was conducted to reveal the deformation mechanism. The results show that the reactivation of the Yulinerzu landslide is dominated by reservoir water fluctuations rather than rainfall. The underlying geological condition of the colluvial landslide is its hydrogeological structure, which causes the landslide to deform in a step-like manner during reservoir operation. With the accumulation of displacement and morphology evolution, the landslide displayed self-stabilizing characteristics. Therefore, in the stability analysis and risk assessment of large deformation landslides, it is essential to take into account not only the hydraulic effects of reservoir fluctuation but also the evolution of landslide morphology.

Abstract:Many slope failures have been observed in the mountainous environments of the world due to rainfall events. However, studies related to the correlation of rainfall intensity, sliding initiation time and the position of slip surface head are still lacking. Studies on the mechanisms of retrogressive slope failure that may occur in a series and the down-slope displacement of failure mass are also rare. In this study, slope failure experiments were performed using medium-grained silica sand S6 to prepare the model slope in a 5m long, 30cm wide and 50cm deep rectangular flume. The experiments consisted of detailed observations of failure process consisting series of failures successively, with particular emphasis on the time of failure; shape, size and position of the slip surface; and final shape of the model slope after down-slope displacement of the failure masses. Moisture profiles at different points within the model slope soil domain and the profile of surface-water forefront were also reported. The observations showed that the slope failure initiating once at the region near the toe results in successive sliding failures in a series, thereby propagating an unstable zone toward the up-slope. When the slope failure initiates at the region toward the head reach, the successive failures may propagate toward the down-slope first, and then again toward the up-slope. This study also noticed a strong correlation between rainfall intensity, sliding initiation time and the position of its slip surface head. The relationship might depend on the shape and size of the model slope and the type of material used in the formation of the model slope. However, the results indicate the possibility of finding a relationship among rainfall intensity, sliding initiation time, and the position of its slip surface head in a natural slope failure prone zone. A landslide model test and application in real field, based on the similarity theory, may reveal the relationship more realistic. Then it would have a significant impact on policy making to mitigate the probable catastrophe during extreme rainfall-induced landslide disaster.
