Abstract:Leadership style is an important factor that affects the enhancement of organizational performance and employee's job performance, and what objectives they should pursue, which also makes a profit for their employees or makes another social and economic contribution to society. The present study was developed to observe the impact of transformational leadership on job performance and to investigate the mediating mechanism of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Primary data were collected from the employees by using a cross-sectional design method. Employees who participated in the study are working in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of Pakistan. A total of 300 questionnaires were circulated, and 130 were received. The Regression analysis was executed to examine whether CSR mediated the correlation among transformational leadership and job performance. The results of the study suggest that transformational leadership positively and completely predicts job performance. Particularly, the study finds that CSR significantly mediated the effect of transformational leadership on job performance. On the basis of these findings, it can be explicated that transformational leadership, job performances, and CSR are important elements of an organization. These elements can improve organizational performance. Theoretical implications of the recent study are discussed, and offer directions for future research in the area.

Abstract:Organizational crisis can serve as a base to provide an opportunity to an organization for enhancing individuals, organizations, and communities. The healthcare sector is one of those sectors that remains under continuous pressure to provide high-quality service delivery to the patients. Hence, the requirement of innovation for this sector is huge when compared to other sectors. The majority of the previous studies have investigated the phenomenon of CSR at the employee’s level (CSR-E) to influence employee behavior positively. However, the importance of CSR-E to enhance the innovative capability of the employees at the workplace is not well-explored in extant literature. Moreover, it is not clear from previous studies how the concept of servant leadership can explain the employee’s engagement towards innovative work behavior (EIB). Thus, the current survey aims to test the relationship of CSR-E and EIB in the healthcare sector of Pakistan with the mediating effect of servant leadership. The data of the current study were obtained through a self-administered (paper-pencil) survey and they were analyzed through the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. The empirical results of SEM analysis revealed that CSR-E and EIB are positively related and servant leadership partially mediates this relationship. The findings of the current study will be helpful for policymakers to improve their understanding towards CSR-E to induce EIB in the time of crisis. At the same time, the current study also highlights the importance of servant leadership to the policymakers in encouraging the employees to display their innovative capability at the workplace to serve their organization during the time of crisis.

Abstract:A limited number of studies have emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) implementation in the health care sector. Based on social exchange theory and social identity theory, this paper examines the relationships between employees’ CSR perceptions, employee attachment, organizational identification, corporate reputation, employee organization relationship, and extra-role performance utilizing structural equation modeling. Data were obtained from Lebanese health care workers in private hospitals in two questionnaires. The results indicate that CSR perceptions positively affect employee attachment and organizational identification. Moreover, employees’ CSR perceptions positively affect work outcomes directly and indirectly via employee attachment. On the other hand, although organizational identification has a negative but significant relationship with employee organization relationships, it does not significantly influence corporate reputation and extra-role performance. Examining the two intervening variables that link CSR to work outcomes provides theoretical and practical implications. Contributions to health care management literature, as well as future research recommendations, are also presented.

Abstract:Abstract Background : Organisations in the contemporary workplace lack meaningful work and life, resulting in psychological and physical pain for workers. Employees seek organisations that align their daily work activities with society. Partially limited research exists on the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and employee work-related attitudes, especially with the mediating mechanism of employee work meaningfulness (EWM) and organisation identification (OID) in developing country contexts such as Pakistan. This study has used Social Learning Theory (SLT) and Social Identification Theory (SIT). Methods : Data were collected through a sample of 154 employees in two waves from multiple sectors in Karachi, Pakistan, using non-probability, purposive sampling. The PLS-SEM, along with IBM-SPSS, was run for data analysis. Results : The results demonstrated that Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has a significant positive relationship with employee work-related attitudes. CSR affects organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) and pro-environmental behaviours (PEB) through the mediation mechanism of employee work meaningfulness (EWM) and organisational identification (OID). Conclusion : This study contributes to the nascent literature by establishing that EWM and OID mediate the effect of CSR on OCB and PEB. Furthermore, this study utilizes two primary theoretical lenses and provides a novel contribution to the current literature. Finally, this study provides valuable insights to policymakers, businesses, and society.

Abstract:Two cases of rare adult cerebellar encephalitis are reported presenting the distinguishing features of acute onset of cerebellar ataxia, distinct ocular oscillations (opsoclonus, ocular flutter, macro square wave jerks) and generalized myoclonic jerks. The EOG-analysis of the cerebellar oculomotor disorder is emphasized. The course is usually benign ("benign encephalitis") differing from the childhood form only in age of onset. Fatal courses are rare and the histopathologic findings in one case suggest mild encephalitis with diffuse perivascular lesions accentuated in the cerebellum, thus not allowing clear clinicotopodiagnostic correlations.

Abstract:Purpose This study aims to examine the impact of ethical leadership style on the subjective well-being of health-care workers by examining the sequential mediating effects of perceived organizational support and perceived ethical-philanthropic corporate social responsibility (CSR). Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from frontline health-care workers (i.e. doctors and nurses). Further, to cope with the response burden during the acute wave of the coronavirus pandemic, this study used split-questionnaire design for data collection. Findings This study's findings fully support the hypothesized framework of the study, illustrating that ethical leadership positively influenced the subjective well-being of health-care workers. Moreover, this study found that the ethical leadership and well-being relationship is sequentially mediated by perceived organizational support and perceived ethical-philanthropic CSR. Practical implications This study possesses practical implications for health-care institutions to encompass the agenda of developing ethically appropriate conduct in their administration and become genuinely concerned about health-care workers and society as well. Social implications By highlighting the role of ethical leadership in participating in ethical and philanthropic CSR activities, this study possesses social implications for the well-being of health-care workers and society at large. Originality/value A positive and strong chain of perceptions about organizational support accorded to employees specifically and society at large emerges as an important sequential mediating mechanism that helps ethical leaders in hospital administration in building subjective well-being in their followers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract:The lens through which followers experience the ethical dimension of leadership itself it is argued is likely distorted by a followers’ level in the hierarchy. In this regard, ethical leadership may be better conceptualized as an intermediary through which follower status contributes to these desirable outcomes. This research expands the literature about the causes, consequences, and the unique role of ethical leadership in the workplace. In particular, we examine the mediated model of ethical leadership in the effect of individualism, spirituality, as well as demographics on organizational outcomes like:1. organization’s fairness climate (CF), 2. affective commitment (AC), and 3. career satisfaction (CS). Drawing on the work of Pucic (2015), we argue that demographics like Job, experience, Age, Education, Position, and Working Hour of employees affect their perception of ethical leadership (EL) in the organization, and this perception, in turn, affect the three above mentioned outcomes. In the same way, spirituality and individualistic (IND) cultures also influence these outcomes through EL. Spirituality was further sub-classified into Spiritual Believe (SB), Coping (SC), Experience (SE), and Practices (SP). Empirical validity was established by conducting a survey using a close-ended questionnaire. Data was collected from 500 employees and analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structured equation modeling. The results suggested that Ethical leadership, individualistic culture, and years of experience have a positive and significant effect on all three outcomes i.e. AC, CF, CS. Moreover, Education and Spiritual Believe seem to have a positive impact on AC. Similarly, Spiritual Experience also has a positive effect on CF. Surprisingly, position and Spiritual Practices seem to have a negative and significant impact on career satisfaction. Moreover, Education, individualism, and position also seem to be positively impacting ethical leadership. Hence, EL positively mediates the effect of education, individualism, and position on AC, CF, and CS respectively. Implications for theory and practice are discussed.

Abstract:Purpose This paper aims to investigate the influence of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on employee engagement (EE) through mediating effect of personal environmental norms (PEN) and employee green behavior (EGB). Design/methodology/approach The proposed model was validated using 360 employees data from manufacturing and service industries. Findings The findings confirmed that CSR is the positive and significant driver of EE. The results also demonstrated PEN and green employee behavior partly mediate this relationship. Practical implications The finding of this study enriches the existing literature and social outcomes of CSR. Theoretical and practical contributions have been discussed in detail. Originality/value The study demonstrates CSR is significantly related to EE, mediated via PEN and EGB, highlighting the necessity for micro-level CSR research. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first and foremost empirical research that establishes the mediating effects of PEN and EGB between CSR and EE in the Indian context.

Abstract:We have recorded a total of 12 FTIR spectra of monoisotopic OC(80)Se in different spectral regions with a resolution (1/maximum optical path difference) between 2.7 and 13.2 x 10(-3) cm(-1). These spectra spanned the range from 350 to 7800 cm(-1), many bands being studied with different p x L products in order to also detect weak hot bands. Altogether 18 band systems comprising 81 different bands, mostly of Sigma type, were observed and analyzed by means of polynomial expansions in J(J + 1). New rotational transitions of vibrationally excited states as high as 2200 cm(-1) with J" 17-25 in the 140-210 GHz and J" 53-58 in the 430-470 GHz millimeterwave regions were measured with the assistance of predictions by the global fit. This fit was performed using a weighted least-squares procedure and employing the whole body of data, and about 100 molecular parameters were determined that describe the energy level of (16)O(12)C(80)Se with statistical accuracy. Improved highly accurate ground state parameters up to sextic centrifugal distortion terms were obtained by a merge of ground state combination differences and pure rotational data. The v(1), v(2), v(3) polyad interacts anharmonically with the v(1) - 1, v(2) + p, v(3) + q polyads with p + 2q = 4. Moreover, some local crossings with Coriolis interactions between (v(1), v(2), v(3)) and (v(1) - 1, v(2) + 3, v(3) + 1) levels were observed and treated perturbationally. Abstract:Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has emerged as an imperative for every sector globally. Yet, for a long time, the concept of CSR has been regarded from an organizational perspective. However, the importance of CSR in shaping the extra-role behavior of employees, such as their pro-environmental behavior (PEB-E), has been under-explored in the literature. Against this backdrop, the current study aims to investigate the impact of CSR on PEB-E with the mediating effect of work engagement (W.E) in the context of a emerging country. The study also employs stewardship theory as an alternate theory to explain the proposed relationships. The data of the current study were obtained from SME sector through a self-administered (paper-and-pencil method) questionnaire. A random sample of employees (n = 398) from different SMEs was selected and analyzed through structural equation modeling. The results of the current survey revealed that CSR directly and indirectly, via W.E, predicts PEB-E positively. The findings of the current study will be helpful for policymakers to understand that well-planned CSR activities, not only create positive repute for an SME, but also provide the underlying justification to its employees to be engaged in different environment-specific behaviors.

Abstract:Purpose In the 21st century, spirituality is becoming an interesting phenomenon in the workplace and has been discussed by academicians, researchers, and practitioners alike. This growing knowledge offers important insights and calls for conceptual and empirical studies on workplace spirituality. Accordingly, the current research aims to examine how ethical leadership (EL) helps to foster workplace spirituality and job satisfaction (JS) in the information technology (IT) industry. Additionally, it investigates the mediating role of workplace spirituality and moderating role of self-efficacy (SE) in the relationship between EL and JS. Design/methodology/approach Using a cross-sectional design, the data were collected from 268 employees in the IT industry and analyzed on SmartPLS 3.2 using structural equation modeling. Findings The findings indicated that EL promotes a sense of spirituality and increases JS. Additionally, results suggested that workplace spirituality partially mediates, and SE moderates the relationship between EL and JS. Practical implications The results suggest that the top executives should work on identifying and developing ethical qualities to promote a sense of meaningfulness (workplace spirituality) and increase JS. Originality/value The research provides an important contribution to the academic literature by exploring the role of EL in fostering spirituality among employees and the moderation of SE on the relationship between EL and JS in the services industry.

Abstract:Background: Workplace safety is a crucial aspect of employee well-being and organizational success, with ethical leadership playing a key role in shaping employees' perceptions of safety. Today, the underlying mechanisms through which ethical leadership influences workplace safety perception remain underexplored, especially in the Pakistan healthcare industry. Based on the social cognitive theory, this study aims to investigate the relationship between ethical leadership and workplace safety perception and examine the mediating role of media quality, communication climate, and supervisory communication and the moderating role of moral attentiveness. Methods: An empirical survey method was used to conduct the quantitative study, with respondents representing nursing staff from hospitals in Pakistan. Data was collected using an online questionnaire during COVID-19, and Smart PLS was used to analyze the data. Results: The study demonstrated that ethical leadership positively and significantly affects workplace safety perception. Media quality, communication climate, and supervisory communication mediate between ethical leadership and workplace safety perception. Moral attentiveness moderates the relationship between ethical leadership and workplace safety perception. Conclusion: Ethical leadership is an essential tool that improves media quality, communication climate, supervisory communication, and moral attentiveness. The article presents a novel approach to examining the relationship between ethical leadership and workers' safety perceptions under the influence of mediating and moderating variables. By better understanding these dynamics, the study contributes to developing organizational strategies to improve workplace safety and overall employee well-being. In addition, it is a pioneering study exploring ethical leadership's role in influencing workers' perceptions of safety. Overall, the study is a great initiative that fosters the ethical concepts of individuals, thus achieving health protection and safety.

Abstract:<p>Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become a prominent subject due to its major implication for the practitioners in the corporate arena. Based on the theory of engagement, theory of social exchange, and theory of social identity, a conceptual framework was established in this study to evaluate the employee engagement (EE), and organizational commitment (OC) as a resultant of CSR initiatives. The study further examined the impact of distributive justice (DJ), procedural justice (PJ), and job satisfaction (JS) as mediating variables, and the influence of collectivism (COL) as a moderating variable between CSR initiatives and OC and EE. Data from 989 employees of the Pakistani pharmaceutical industry was collected and analyzed using the structural equation modeling and exploratory and confirmatory inferential models. Results demonstrate that CSR initiatives have a significant positive impact on OC and EE. Similarly, the mediation of JS, PJ, and DJ was established between the exogenous and the endogenous variables. Finally, the COL has a significant impact as a moderating variable between CSR initiatives, and OC and EE. The conclusions obtained in this study provide significantly practical and theoretical implications for managers of involved firms to improve employee behavior, mold employee attitude, and enhance organizational performance via CSR strategy, especially for firms located in countries along the route of belt and road initiative.</p>

Abstract:Purpose Combining two distinct streams of research studies in leadership and organizational management i.e. ethical leadership and Green human resource management (Green HRM) practices, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of ethical leadership style (ELS) on employees’ job satisfaction (JS) with a mediating role of Green HRM and psychological safety in health sector organizations. Design/methodology/approach A quantitative methodology was adopted to achieve the aims of this study. Data were collected through pencil/paper questionnaires from the respondents ( n =177) working in a public sector healthcare organization of Pakistan. Reliability and validity of measures were tested via AMOS (18) software. Results of proposed hypotheses were tested via Preacher and Hayes (2008) macro of mediation. Findings Contrary to the first hypothesis, no evidence of the direct impact of ELS on employees’ JS was found. However, the mediating roles of Green HRM and psychological safety were supported by the results. Originality/value Through this study, the authors have addressed three key gaps in the extant literature of ELS and corporate social responsibility, i.e. exploring the underlying mechanism through which ELS leads to important outcomes with two novel mediators, i.e. Green HRM and psychological safety, the role of ELS in promoting Green HRM in organizations and evidence from a public sector health organization in a developing country, Pakistan. Implications of the study are discussed.

Abstract:Addressing environmental challenges, such as climate change, requires integrating consumers' social behavior and personality traits. This study examined how corporate social responsibility (CSR) influences employees' energy-specific proenvironmental behavior in the hospitality sector, considering the mediating role of green self-efficacy and employee happiness, and the moderating role of altruistic values. Using structural equation modeling of data from a survey of 418 employees in Pakistan, this study found that CSR had a positive impact on energy-specific proenvironmental behavior, with green self-efficacy and employee happiness acting as mediators, and altruistic values acting as a moderator. The findings suggest that CSR initiatives tailored to consumers' social behavior and personality traits can effectively promote sustainable energy consumption behavior among employees.

Abstract:Using two theoretical lenses-social identity theory (SIT) and organizational citizenship behavior towards environment (OCBE)-the current study examines the impact of employee CSR perceptions on environmental performance via mediation of employee pro-environmental behavior and organizational citizenship behavior towards environment (OCBE) utilizing data from three controversial industry sectors (i.e., hotel, tobacco, oil, and gas). We conducted a multi-time survey (sample n = 282) of employees working in organizations operating in controversial industry sectors to test a serial mediation model. The collected data were analyzed through partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique using Smart PLS 3.3.2. The findings suggest that employee CSR perception significantly influences environmental performance. Furthermore, the mediating effects of employee pro-environmental behavior and OCBE were also found statistically significant. Using theories of SIT and OCBE, this study is an attempt to unveil what is unknown about CSR perception and environmental performance relationships.

Abstract:This study examines the influence of perceived corporate social responsibility (CSR) on corporate financial performance (CFP). Based on win-win paradigm, this study uncovers the mediating role of Quality of Work Life (QWL) on CSR-CFP nexus. A questionnaire based cross-sectional survey was conducted to accumulate data from 355 employees working in public and private sector banks of Pakistan. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to examine the hypotheses. The results depict that CSR is positively related with CFP, and employee QWL partially mediates this relationship. According to our noesis, the review of previous literature regarding the association of CSR and CFP reveals that QWL has not been empirically tested as a mediator between these two variables. This study findings proposes that banks engaged in CSR activities are actually establishing a healthy work environment for their employees which ultimately helps the banks to improve their financial performance. This study highlights the importance of CSR activities for enhancing the CFP of the banking sector in the developing countries.
