Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effects of internal fixation with plate by the improved anterolateral approach to treatment of terminal femoral fractures.Methods Internal fixation with plate by improved anterolateral approach was applied to 78 patients with complex comminuted bone fractures of terminal femora from August 2008 to January 2012.Results During the follow-up of 10 months to 2 years,73 patients reached complete healing without screw relaxation,plate rupture and malformation(e.g.limb shortening and knee varus or eversion);the other 5 ones who suffered from nonunion reached complete healing by the second stage bone grafting.The excellent and good rate of knee joint function was up to 91 %.Conclusion With simple procedure,reliable fixation,integral protection of knee extensor device,mini-operative damage and propitiousness to functional recovery of knee joint,the internal fixation with plate by the improved anterolateral approach is a relatively good therapeutic approach to the complex comminuted bone fractures of terminal femora.

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effects of anatomic plate internal fixation plus one stage bone grafting on the complex bone fractures of terminal femora.MethodsAnatomic plate internal fixation plus one stage bone grafting was applied to 35 patients with complex comminuted bone fractures of terminal femora since the year of 2000.ResultsBy the follow-up of 1-2 year(s),all the bone fractures reached complete healing without nonunion,screw relaxation,plate rupture and malformation(e.g.limb shortening,knee varus or eversion).The excellent and good rate of knee joint function was up to 94.1%.ConclusionWith simple procedure,reliable fixation,mini operative damage and propitiousness to functional recovery of knee joint,anatomic plate internal fixation plus one stage bone grafting is a relatively good therapeutic approach to the complex comminuted bone fractures of terminal femora.
Complex humeral head fractures treated with blocked threaded wires: maintenance of the reduction and clinical results with two different fixation constructs

Abstract:Background: Locking plates are the gold standard for treatment of 3-part humeral head fractures, although major complications range from 9% to 36%. Percutaneous techniques may allow vascular supply preservation, maintenance of fracture hematoma, scarce blood loss. Many configurations with Kirschner wires can be performed, generating confusion on result interpretation. We studied the correlation between system configuration, stability, and clinical results in patients with 3-part humeral head fractures treated with the same fixation system but with 2 different biomechanical constructs. Materials and methods: There were 52 consecutive patients (19 men, 33 women; mean age, 63.1 [standard deviation, 5.6] years; range, 48-82 years) with Hertel 7 humeral head fractures. Two fixation constructs composed of 3 couples (construct A) or 4 couples (construct B) of blocked threaded wires were used in 17 and 35 patients, respectively. At the final follow-up, the individual relative Constant Score (irCS) and visual analog scale were measured. Radiographic evaluation according to the Bahr criteria was performed. Statistical analysis was performed. Results: The mean follow-up was 22 months. The mean irCS at the final follow-up was 89.7%. The mean irCS in patients treated with construct A and construct B was 86% and 93%, respectively (P = .043). One nonunion and 2 superficial infections occurred (6%). The postoperative reduction was excellent in 97% of patients and remained excellent in 89%. The mean postoperative neck shaft angle was 135.0° (construct A: 134.7°; construct B: 135.1°), and the final neck shaft angle was 132.9° (construct A: 131.3°; construct B: 133.8°; P = .047). Conclusions: The functional and radiologic outcomes obtained with percutaneous fixation or locking plates are similar; however, the percentage of major complications after percutaneous treatment is lower. Results of percutaneous fixation depend on the biomechanical construct.
Early results with the new internal fixator systems LCP and LISS: a prospective study

Abstract:The Locking Compression Plate (LCP) and the Less Invasive Stabilisation System (LISS) are new implants with angular stability developed by the AO/ASIF. They offer an alternative for internal fixation in complex intra-articular fractures and high-energy diaphyseal fractures of the long bones. The new system was used in a prospective study to treat 113 patients (76 women, 37 men; average age: 53.1 years) with 122 injuries (multifragment shaft fractures or complex intra-articular, delayed/ non-union, malunion) from October 2002. Of these, 13 affected the humerus, 20 the radius, 2 the ulna, 21 the femur, 42 the tibia, 10 the fibula, 2 the acetabulum and 12 the calcaneus. Because of severe concomitant injuries, 18 fractures were first treated with an external fixator and definitively stabilised more than two weeks after the injury. Thirty-one patients were operated on after failure of other implants and non-union. Clinical and radiographic findings as well as complications were followed prospectively over a mean period of 20 months (range: 13 to 30). One patient was lost to follow-up. A total of 112 patients underwent a standardised follow-up examination. The outcome correlated with the severity of the fracture, anatomic reduction, adequate positioning of the plate and concomitant injuries. Despite the large number of open and comminuted fractures, no serious complications such as deep infections, vascular lesions, deep venous thrombosis or non-unions were noted. We found the new internal fixator system to be a safe and reliable procedure. It offers numerous fixation possibilities and has proven its value in complex fracture situations and in revision operations. A good knowledge of biomechanics is essential as well as precise preoperative planning.
The plate fixation strategy of complex proximal humeral fractures

Abstract:Purpose For complex proximal humeral fractures, severe displacement and comminuted fragments lead to poor clinical outcomes. Despite considerable management, the locking plate fixation is still a preference and the proper selection of its strategy for each individual seems to be essential. Method The available classification system of the fracture, determination of surgical intervention, the common complications and related causes, and the latest critical surgical strategies with locking plate fixation were discussed in this review. Results The frequent complications with complex proximal humeral fractures after operative treatment present a great challenge to orthopedic surgeons. In order to maintain the stability of locking plate fixation, several options including calcar screw, bone graft, bone cement augmentation, dual plate fixation, and fracture impaction were available for restoration of medial support. Conclusion Restoration of medial support seems of importance to provide solid stability and reduced complication for the complex fractures with fixation of locking plates.

Abstract:Joint-preserving surgical treatment of complex unstable proximal humerus fractures remains challenging, with high failure rates even following state-of-the-art locked plating. Enhancement of implants could help improve outcomes. By overcoming limitations of conventional biomechanical testing, finite element (FE) analysis enables design optimization but requires stringent validation. This study aimed to computationally enhance the design of an existing locking plate to provide superior fixation stability and evaluate the benefit experimentally in a matched-pair fashion. Further aims were the evaluation of instrumentation accuracy and its potential influence on the specimen-specific predictive ability of FE. Screw trajectories of an existing commercial plate were adjusted to reduce the predicted cyclic cut-out failure risk and define the enhanced (EH) implant design based on results of a previous parametric FE study using 19 left proximal humerus models (Set A). Superiority of EH versus the original (OG) design was tested using nine pairs of human proximal humeri ( N = 18, Set B). Specimen-specific CT-based virtual preoperative planning defined osteotomies replicating a complex 3-part fracture and fixation with a locking plate using six screws. Bone specimens were prepared, osteotomized and instrumented according to the preoperative plan via a standardized procedure utilizing 3D-printed guides. Cut-out failure of OG and EH implant designs was compared in paired groups with both FE analysis and cyclic biomechanical testing. The computationally enhanced implant configuration achieved significantly more cycles to cut-out failure compared to the standard OG design ( p < 0.01), confirming the significantly lower peri-implant bone strain predicted by FE for the EH versus OG groups ( p < 0.001). The magnitude of instrumentation inaccuracies was small but had a significant effect on the predicted failure risk ( p < 0.01). The sample-specific FE predictions strongly correlated with the experimental results (R 2 = 0.70) when incorporating instrumentation inaccuracies. These findings demonstrate the power and validity of FE simulations in improving implant designs towards superior fixation stability of proximal humerus fractures. Computational optimization could be performed involving further implant features and help decrease failure rates. The results underline the importance of accurate surgical execution of implant fixations and the need for high consistency in validation studies.

Volar locking and angular stability plate for treatment of comminuted scaphoid fractures: a case series of 44 cases

Abstract:Background: The primary method employed worldwide for the treatment of scaphoid fractures is screw fixation. However, in unstable and comminuted fractures, percutaneous fixation could produce complications due to technical challenges, such as improper axis positioning, inaccurate screw length measurement, intra-articular screw penetration, and impingement. Alternative open approaches for the surgical management of scaphoid fractures have been proposed, and in recent years, a new specific volar locking plate for the treatment of scaphoid fractures has been developed. This study aims to present the outcomes of this technique applied to 44 patients with unstable and comminuted fractures of the scaphoid. Aims: The purpose of the study is to verify the effectiveness of the volar plate in the treatment of comminuted scaphoid fractures and the necessity for plate removal when consolidation has occurred. Methods: Between January 2021 and March 2023, a specific volar locking plate for the treatment of scaphoid fractures was used in 44 patients. A retrospective study was conducted involving all patients, consisting of continuous clinical and radiographic assessments, functional evaluations (using QuickDASH and MHQ), and patient satisfaction surveys. Results: All patients achieved clinical and radiographic recovery. However, the plate can impinge with nearby structures and should be removed once the fracture is consolidated. After plate removal, further improvement in range of motion was observed. Conclusion: The plate and screws system is a viable and appropriate method of osteosynthesis in the treatment of unstable and comminuted recent fractures occurring in the middle third of the carpal scaphoid.

Abstract:In distal intraarticular humerus fractures primary stable osteosynthesis is essential for early mobilization of the elbow joint. Double-plate osteosynthesis techniques using different configurations are the gold standard. In the literature plate position is sometimes discussed controversially. In cases of distal humerus fractures (type AO 13C3) with metaphyseal comminution, as well as in elderly patients with poor bone quality, utilizing locking plates with angular stability was found to have increased structural properties with regard to primary fixation stability. The dorsal approach with osteotomy of the olecranon seems to be very effective in open reduction and internal fixation of this type of fracture. One new development is the anatomically preformed plate-fixation systems such as the LCP-System for distal humerus (Synthes). This study presents our first experience with this system in 11 cases of open reduction and internal fixation of type AO 13C3 distal humerus fractures. The system-specific features and intraoperative options were analyzed.
[Complication Analysis of Proximal Humeral Fractures Treated with Locking Plate].

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To analyze complications of surgically treated proximal humeral fractures with locking plate.METHODS:Eighty three (30 males and 53 females) coherent unstable proximal humeral fractures were treated with locking plate from January 2007 to January 2010 with a mean follow-up lasting 23.5 months ( 10-51 months ). Their mean age was 66.4 years (33-89 years). The patients were evaluated with outpatient physical examination, X-ray film, visual analogue scale (VAS), and Constant-Murley scores. Complications and functional outcome of the involved shoulders were recorded and estimated. Complications were diagnosed in 15 cases, varus malunion in 6, humeral head necrosis in 3, delayed union in 1, screw cut-out in 3, and subacromio-impingement in 3.Four cases were combined with two or more complications.RESULT:Four-part fractures had higher complication risks in implant related complications (P=0.009)and none implant related complications (P=0.003).Age and comobities had little influence on complication occurrence.CONCLUSION:Although locking plate provides optimal clinical results in proximal humeral fracture management, its complications should be highly considered. Preoperative evaluation, implant option, accurate reconstructions and rehabilitations are key points to restore the shoulder function.
Complications after surgical treatment of distal clavicle fractures

Abstract:Introduction: Distal clavicle fractures have low rates of union when treated with conservative measures. Operative treatment is generally recommended for Neer type II and V. Multiple fixation methods exist with no clear gold standard. The goal of the current study is to assess the outcomes and complications of distal clavicle fractures treated with one of three fixation methods: standard clavicular plate, hook plate or suture fixation about the coracoid. Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study of surgically-treated unstable Neer type II and V distal clavicle fractures in adults. These operations were performed by multiple surgeons within a single healthcare system between January 2010 and September 2012. Patients were divided into three cohorts: pre-contoured clavicular locking plates, hook plates, and suture-only fixation methods. Univariate and mulivariate modeling analyses were performed. Results: A total of 74 distal clavicle fractures comprised the final cohort. Fifty-eight (77%) of these fractures were Neer type II; the remaining 16 (21.6%) were Neer type V. Median follow-up time was 12 months (range 10-28). BMI, smoking status, diabetes, and ASA class were similar among all cohorts. Twenty-one patients were treated with suture fixation alone (28.3%), 37 with a contoured clavicular plate (50%) and 16 with hook plate fixation (21.6%). Twenty-one patients (28.4%) experienced complications, including two hardware failures requiring revision surgery. A total of 10/16 (62.5%) patients with hook plates required hardware removal for irritation, compared to 6/37 (16.2%) with a contoured clavicular plate (OR=8.61, p value=0.001), and none with sutures alone. A total of 3/21 patients (14.2%) treated with suture fixation methods were diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis post-operatively; no patients in the plate fixation groups received this diagnosis. The Neer V group had a higher proportion of any complications (37.5%) compared to Neer II (25.9%), and a higher rate of stiffness (12.5% v. 1.7% in Neer II). Conclusion: This study compared the outcomes of three different fixation methods for unstable distal clavicle fractures. The overall union rate with any method of operative intervention was very high (98.6%), consistent with previous studies. Hook plates had a much higher re-operation rate, mostly owing to a higher incidence of hardware removal, an expected outcome owing to the prominence of these plates in the subacromial space. Contoured clavicular plates were associated with a lower incidence of irritation and hardware removal than hook plates, although one patient in this group experienced loss of fracture fixation and went on to asymptomatic radiographic non-union. Suture-only fixation methods had the lowest rate of re-operation, with only one of 21 procedures resulting in failure and requiring revision. However, there was a significantly higher rate of adhesive capsulitis in the suture fixation cohort, perhaps due to the tethering effect of the clavicle to the coracoid or violation of the rotator interval. While this study supports that most distal clavicle fracture fixation methods can achieve stable union, there is a highly variable complication profile associated with each fixation method. The routine use of hook plate fixation cannot be recommended.

As this condition is sufficient as well as necessary, we have THEOREM I.—Every simple isomorphism of an abelian group A with itself may be obtained by 1° making A isomorphic with one of its subgroups or with itself in such a manner that no operator corresponds to its inverse, and 2° making each operator of A correspond to itself multiplied by the operator which corresponds to it in the given isomorphism. The simplest case that can present itself is the one in which the subgroup of G, which corresponds to identity of T in the given isomorphism between G and T, includes T. Abstract:ABSTRACT Objectives: Evaluate bone healing time, consolidation, and the complication rate between the minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis and open reduction with plate osteosynthesis in humeral diaphyseal fractures with an intact wedge (AO 12B2). Methods: A retrospective study was carried out between 2016 and 2020. The medical records and radiographs of 18 patients were analyzed, and data were collected regarding the time of consolidation, age, sex, plate size, number of screws, complications such as iatrogenic injury damage to the radial nerve, material failure, and postoperative infection. Results: No statistically significant differences were observed in the variables of age, sex, plate size, and number of screws used or in the RUSHU index (Radiographic Union Score for Humeral fractures). There were no postoperative infections, material failure, or need for reoperation, nor cases of secondary radial nerve injury. After one year, all patients had a consolidation index analyzed by RUSHU >11. Conclusion: both techniques showed similar results, with a high consolidation rate and low rates of complications or iatrogenic damage to the radial nerve. Excellent results and low complication rate for anatomic polyaxial locking plates in comminuted proximal ulna fractures

Abstract:Background: Comminuted fractures of the proximal ulna remain a great challenge in orthopedic surgery. The purpose of this study was to report the outcomes of comminuted proximal ulna fractures treated with a new construct type-anatomically preformed polyaxial locking compression plates. Methods: Between 2013 and 2016, 46 patients with isolated comminuted fractures were treated with a 2.7-/3.5-mm VA-LCP Olecranon Plate (Synthes, Umkirch, Germany). Of these, 44 were available for an assessment after a mean follow-up period of 2.5 years (range, 12-50 months). We evaluated range of motion, time to recovery, revision rate, and indications, as well as functional scores. Radiographs were analyzed. Results: The study included 8 Mayo IB, 29 Mayo IIB, and 7 Mayo IIIB fractures. All fractures showed bony union, and only 2 revision surgical procedures were performed because of a new trauma. No other complications occurred. Mean range of motion was 139° (range, 105°-150°), and the mean pain level was less than 1 on a visual analog scale. Regarding elbow function, we found a mean Mayo Elbow Performance Score of 98; a mean Oxford Elbow Score of 44; and a mean Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand score of 6. Of the plates, 41% were removed after an average time of 16 months, whereby a significant improvement in extension deficit was detected (P < .01). Ninety-five percent of all patients returned to their pretrauma sports level. Conclusion: The 2.7-/3.5-mm VA-LCP Olecranon Plate represents an effective option with excellent fracture reduction, sufficient stability for early postoperative functional rehabilitation, and a minimum of complications.
Using Suture and Locking Anatomical Bridging Plate to Fix Comminuted Mid-Shaft Clavicle Fractures with Intramedullary Nail Assistance in Reduction.

Abstract:Background: During conventional plate fixation of comminuted midshaft fracture of the clavicle, wedgeshaped fragments often need to be fixed with lag screws. A new procedure, which included intramedullary K-wire assistance in reduction, binding fragments by suture, and eventually bridging plate fixation, was compared with conventional techniques. Hypothesis: This new procedure is more effective than the conventional techniques, and the fixation of free fragments using lag screws is not necessary. Material and methods: This was a retrospective study of 60 patients from August 2008 to March 2013 with comminuted midshaft clavicular fractures with wedge-shaped fragments. Seventeen patients were treated with conventional plate fixation, and the wedge-shaped fragments were fixed using lag screws (LSPF). Another 43 patients were treated with the new procedure, including intramedullary K-wire assistance in reduction, binding of wedge-shaped fragments by suture, and bridging plate fixation (KSB). Patients were followed for an average of 13 months and radiographs were used to observe fracture healing. Shoulder function was assessed using the Constant Score System (CSS). Results: There was no significant difference in bone healing time and shoulder function between the two study groups. The operating time for KSB was significantly shorter than conventional LSPF (P=0.014). Fractures healed in 14.9 +/- 5.59 weeks for the conventional LSPF group and in 13.6 +/- 3.59 weeks for the KSB group. One patient treated with conventional LSPF had implant failure and underwent a second operation. Conclusions: KSB is a simple and effective procedure for comminuted midshaft clavicular fractures. The wedge-shaped fragments in comminuted midshaft clavicular fractures do not always need to be fixed by lag screws and the new procedure described is an effective treatment alternative. Level of evidence: Level IV.

Abstract:We review the findings of Cho et al. on the crystal structure of a p53 tumor suppressor-DNA complex. The core DNA binding domain of p53 folds into a structure termed a beta-sandwich, which organizes two loops and a loop-sheet-helix structure on one surface of p53 to interact with the consensus DNA recognition sequence of p53. These structures help to explain the functions of wild-type p53 and the effects of tumor-associated mutations on p53 DNA binding, transactivation and suppression of cellular proliferation.

Abstract:INTRODUCTION: Bicondylar tibial plateau fractures account for 10-30% of tibial plateau fractures. Despite recent advancements in the management of unstable bicondylar tibial plateau fractures, the outcomes are often poor. The present study aimed to evaluate the functional outcomes and complications of internal fixation of bicondylar tibial plateau fractures with the dual plating using two incisions.MATERIALS AND METHODS: The present study included 30 patients (26 males; 4 females, mean age 35.6 years; range, 19 to 65 years) with bicondylar tibial plateau fractures who were treated with dual plating between January 2017 to August 2019. Out of 30 patients, 5 patients had Schatzker type (V) and 25 patients had Schatzker type (VI) bicondylar tibial plateau fracture. All patients were treated with dual plating using two incisions. In all patient's similar standard physical rehabilitation therapy was followed. All complications including intra and post-operative were assessed and recorded. The patients were followed-up for over 24 months. Functional outcomes were assessed with Rasmussen's functional grading system, Oxford knee score, and range of motion of knee joint. Radiological outcomes were evaluated using Rasmussen's radiological scoring system.RESULT: All fractures united with a mean time of 18 weeks. The average knee range of motion was 1.5° - 130° (range: 0° - 10° for extension lag, range: 100° -135° for flexion). Mean Rasmussen's functional grading score at the final follow-up was 26.75. All patients showed excellent or good radiographic results according to Rasmussen's radiological scoring with a mean score of 8.5 (range 6-10). The post-operative radiographs showed mean MPTA was 84.3° and the mean PPTA was 6.2°. In the present study, complications were encountered in five patients. However, there were no cases of secondary loss of reduction, failure of the implant, malunion, or non-union.CONCLUSION: The surgical treatment of bicondylar tibial plateau fractures with dual locking represents a significant treatment option and provides rigid fixation in these fractures with good functional and radiological outcomes.

Abstract:Background Tension band wiring and plate fixation are common techniques used to stabilize simple olecranon fractures and osteotomies of the olecranon. All suture fixation is an alternative technique but has not been compared previously to these traditional methods. The aim of this study was to compare the clinical and radiographic outcomes of the three techniques. Methods One hundred and sixty-eight consecutive Mayo type 1 and 2 olecranon fractures (n = 138) and olecranon osteotomies (n = 30) with a minimum follow-up time of one year were compared. The primary outcome measure was the rate of re-operation. Secondary outcome measures were the incidence of complications, rate of radiographic union and incidence of radiographic reduction loss. Results Fixation was performed using tension band wiring in 89 patients, plating in 38 patients and suture fixation in 41 patients. There was no significant difference in the fracture type according to the Mayo classification between the groups. The re-operation rate was significantly higher in the tension band wiring group (36%) compared with both the plate group (11%, p = 0.03) and the suture group (2%, p = 0.002). There were two revision fixations in the tension band wiring group and one in the suture group. There was one asymptomatic non-union in the suture group. All other fractures and osteotomies achieved radiographic union. Conclusion Suture fixation of simple olecranon fractures and osteotomies was reliable in providing stable union and had a significantly lower re-operation rate when compared with tension band wiring.

Abstract:Background: Type C tibial plateau fractures are complex injuries, and an ideal method for their treatment is still controversial. In the present study, we discuss the outcomes of Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) type C tibial plateau fractures treated with dual locking plating and single lateral locking plate supplemented with two medial cannulated cancellous (CC) screws. Materials and Methods: This prospective study included 34 patients of AO type C tibial plateau fractures divided into two groups. Dual locking plating and single lateral locking plate supplemented with two medial CC screws were the treatment methods in group 1 and groups II, respectively. The patients were evaluated using the Rasmussen clinical grading system at 1 and 2 years postoperatively. Results: The range of motion (ROM) was observed as 121.0° ± 1.9° and 126.3° ± 2.6° in group II, whereas in group I, ROM was 112.5° ± 3.1° and 120° ± 1.5° at 1 and 2 years, respectively. Pain, walking capacity, and final outcome were significantly better in group II at 1 and 2 years postoperatively. No significant difference was observed in two groups in terms of radiological results. Conclusion: Lateral locking plate supplemented with two medial CC screws proves to be a better method to treat AO type C tibial plateau fractures in adults, with minimal complications.

Abstract:Experiments with inhibitors of protein synthesis (actinomycin D, puromycin, actidione) showed that the increase and the change in fatty acid synthetase activity, observed during the aging of potato disks, were accompanied by and related to a temporary rise in the rate of protein and RNA synthesis. These results concur with the earlier suggestion by Click and Hackett that the aging process involves a type of derepression. A possible course of events during aging, and possible derepression mechanisms are suggested and discussed.

Abstract:Introduction In the present study, we aimed to compare the clinical and radiological results of the single lateral locking plate fixation method to the dual plate (DP) fixation method in cases of unstable bicondylar proximal tibial plateau fractures. Materials and methods Fifty-six patients managed surgically with internal fixation for unstable bicondylar tibial plateau fractures (UBTF) (Schatzker type V and type VI or Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen/Orthopaedic Trauma Association {AO/OTA} type 41-C) over 36 months from January 2017 to December 2020 were included in this prospective study. All the fractures were fixed surgically either using dual locking plates through double incisions (DP group) or with a single lateral locking plate (single plate {SP} group). All intraoperative and postoperative complications were assessed and recorded. Oxford Knee Score (OKS), Rasmussen's functional grading system, and Rasmussen's radiological scoring system were used to evaluate the functional and radiological outcomes. Result All of the patients were followed for at least 12 months. Twenty-six patients were fixed with a single lateral locking plate, and 30 patients were fixed with a double-incision dual locking plate. The mean Oxford Knee Score (OKS) was 43.24 ± 4.46 in the DP group and 42.7 ± 2.57 in the SP group (P = 0.544). The mean Rasmussen's functional score (RFS) score in the present study was 26.6 ± 2.21 in the DP group and 24.97 ± 3.92 in the SP group (P = 0.056). At the final follow-up, the mean Rasmussen's radiological score (RRS) was 9.06 ± 1.01 in the DP group and 8.1 ± 0.81 in the SP group (P = 0.0003). Conclusion There are no statistically significant differences in the functional outcomes between the two groups, but higher benefits were found in the radiological outcomes in the dual plating group as compared to single lateral locking plate group.
