Abstract:Objective: This study aimed to explore the most effective nonsurgical therapy to treat stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Methods: Data were pooled and the Bayesian random effects model was utilized to evaluate the inconsistencies between indirect and direct proof. Network sub-analyses, sensitivity and subgroup analysis, and standard pairwise comparisons were utilized in preparation of the main analysis. Results: A total of 17 RCTs (852 participants) were enrolled. With regard to therapy, pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) was more often recommended than biofeedback (BF). The combination of PFMT and BF was remarkably promoted than PFMT alone or PFMT with vaginal cone (VC) or electrical stimulation (ES). The QL scores of patients who underwent PFMT were noticeably improved compared with those of patients who underwent ES. The combination of BF and PFMT was remarkably promoted compared with BF alone. VC was superior to ES with regard to QL scores. By contrast, ES alone was the least preferred method to decrease urine leakage and to promote QL. Conclusion: The combination of BF and PFMT was proven to be an optimal method to treat SUI which aims to promote urine leakage and LQ compared with either PFMT alone, ES, VC, or circular muscle (CME), while ES was the least preferred method to promote LQ.
Defining the Efficacy and Safety of Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors with Tamsulosin for the Treatment of Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Secondary to Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia with or without Erectile Dysfunction: A Network Meta-Analysis

Abstract:Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the relative safety and efficacy of different types of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5-Is) with tamsulosin for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) (BPH-LUTS) with or without erectile dysfunction (ED). Methods: We use the Stata version 13.0 to conduct the network meta-analysis (NMA) with a random effects model of the Bayesian framework. The International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), Maximum Urinary Flow Fate (Q max), International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF), and their credible intervals (CI) were used to compare the efficacy and safety of every medical intervention, including sildenafil plus tamsulosin, tadalafil plus tamsulosin, and vardenafil plus tamsulosin. Results: Seven RCTs including 531 participants with seven interventions were analyzed. The results of NMA SUCRA showed that compared with different doses or types of PDE5-Is combined with tamsulosin (0.4 mg qd), the sildenafil (25 mg qd) combined with tamsulosin (0.4 mg qd) group had the greatest probabilities of being the best in the achievement of improving IIEF. The sildenafil (25 mg 4 days per week) combined with tamsulosin (0.4 mg qd) group had the greatest probabilities of being the best in the achievement of improving Q max, whereas sildenafil (25 mg qd) combined with tamsulosin (0.4 mg qd) ranked the best for the safety outcomes. Conclusions: This meta-analysis indicates that sildenafil combined with tamsulosin is the best effective and tolerated treatment option for BPH-LUTS with or without ED. Further RCTs are strongly required to provide more direct evidence.

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Drug therapy for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) is a major and popular method. However, the therapeutic strategy is still not clear enough up to now. And the ranking of probability of different interventions will be estimated by comparing the surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA).RESULTS: A high quality-synthesis of the current evidence for comparing with different doses or types of PDE5-Is combined with tamsulosin to the treatment of LUTS secondary to BPH will be provided.CONCLUSIONS: This NMA and systematic review will generate evidence to help choose the best combination for treatment of LUTS secondary to BPH.PROSPERO registration number: PROSPERO CRD 42019139062.

Comparative Effectiveness and Safety of Monodrug Therapies for Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Associated With Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: A Network Meta-analysis

Abstract:A wide array of drugs are available for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), but the evidence for the comparative effectiveness is controversial.The objective of this study is to evaluate the comparative effectiveness and safety of monodrug therapies for BPH.Data sources are MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library.We included randomized controlled trials that compared α-blockers, 5-alpha reductase inhibitors (5ARIs), muscarinic receptor antagonists (MRAs), phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitor (PDE5-Is), or placebo for the treatment of BPH.Comparative effectiveness and safety were pooled by both traditional meta-analysis and network meta-analysis. Summary effect size was calculated as mean difference (MD) and relative risk (RR), together with the 95% confidence intervals (CIs).This study included 58,548 participants from 124 trials in total. When compared with placebo, α-blockers, 5ARIs, and PDE5-Is reduced International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) by -1.35 to -3.67 points and increased peak urinary flow rate (PUF) by -0.02 to 1.95 mL/s, with doxazosin (IPSS: MD, -3.67[-4.33 to -3.02]; PUF: MD, 1.95[1.61 to 2.30]) and terazosin (IPSS: MD, -3.37 [-4.24 to -2.50]; PUF: MD, 1.21[0.74 to 1.66]) showing the greatest improvement. The improvement in the IPSS was comparable among tamsulosin, alfuzosin, naftopidil, silodosin, dutasteride, sildenafil, vardenafil, and tadalafil. The incidence of total adverse events and withdraws due to adverse events were generally comparable among various agents.In conclusion, α-blockers, 5ARIs, and PDE5-Is are effective for BPH, with doxazosin and terazosin appearing to be the most effective agents. Drug therapies for BPH are generally safe and well-tolerated, with no major difference regarding the overall safety profile.
AB085. Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Phosphodiesterase Type 5 Inhibitors for the Treatment of Female Sexual Dysfunction

Abstract:Objective To obtain systematic and comprehensive evidence regarding the benefits and safety of PDE5i compared to those of placebo. Methods All randomized controlled trials (RCTs) reporting on the effectiveness of PDE5i in FSD were identified through comprehensive searches of PubMed, the Cochrane Library and Embase, and a meta-analysis and systematic review of these studies were conducted. Results Fourteen studies were included for meta-analysis. Because RCTs included in our study adopted different questionnaires for the measurement of sexual function, most of the data had to be separated rather than pooling the results. Summarizing the results of each comparison, we found that the use of PDE5i resulted in a significant improvement in sexual functioning compared with placebo in most studies, except for a few sporadic negative results. However, pooled data for adverse events showed significantly higher rates of headache, flushing, and vision changes in PDE5i treatment group [risk ratio (RR) 2.59, 95%95% confidence interval (CI), 1.93–3.47, P<0.00001; RR 5.74, 95% CI, 3.60–9.14, P<0.00001; and RR 4.64, 95% CI, 2.16–9.98, P<0.0001, respectively]. However, no one reported the need of any additional therapy for these adverse events. Conclusions Our results indicate that PDE5i would be effective for female sexual dysfunction. Though there were significantly higher rates of adverse events, use of PDE5i was still relatively safe. More well-designed, double-blind, crossover RCTs reporting results from standardized questionnaires should be conducted to accurately solve this issue.

Abstract:Community preventive psychiatry is advocated in our American millitary organization, often to the exclusion of individual psychotherapy. The alleged effectiveness of primary and secondary prevention in a military setting is incompatible with the evidence that many soldiers with limited ego skills cannot adjust to the army. The present military community has not been willing to make the necessary changes in treatment of individual psychopathological disturbance or leadership training to allow preventive programs to work. It is suggested that real, as opposed to statistical, psychiatric casualties will not significantly diminish until commanding officers are willing to accept and cooperate with psychiatric recommendations.

Abstract:This paper presents a soft-start circuit using the pulse-width-modulation (PWM) method. The motor is controlled by the dc chopper associated with a low-cost PWM chip TL494. The design criteria are stated. The motor HC385MG is tested in experiment. The results illustrate that the circuit effectively reduces the inrush current at start-up moment. The circuit also provides the speed adjustment and can be further implemented with the speed regulation and the over-current protection.

Abstract:Journal of Clinical Urology, Ahead of Print. Objectives:This randomised controlled trial (RCT) aimed to evaluate the efficacy of vardenafil monotherapy, tamsulosin monotherapy, and combination therapy of vardenafil and tamsulosin in treating lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).Methods:This RCT involved 75 patients presenting with LUTS secondary to BPH. Patients were randomly allocated into three groups, receiving either vardenafil monotherapy, tamsulosin monotherapy, or a combination of both drugs. Assessments and follow-ups were conducted 1, 3, and 6 months after treatment initiation, focusing on improvements in LUTS, uroflowmetry measurements, and patients' sexual performance. Data analysis was performed using Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and IBM SPSS statistics software version 22.0.Results:This study included 75 participants divided into three groups. No significant differences were found in terms of patients' age (p = 0.504) or treatment duration (p = 0.680) between the groups. The combination of vardenafil/tamsulosin consistently showed the lowest International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) scores and grades, followed by the tamsulosin group (p 0.001), but no significant differences were found between the tamsulosin and vardenafil/tamsulosin groups.Conclusion:The combination therapy with vardenafil and tamsulosin is more effective in improving LUTS secondary to BPH than monotherapy. Tamsulosin monotherapy also appears to be more effective than vardenafil monotherapy. Combination therapy provides a viable treatment option for patients who do not respond adequately to monotherapy or experience adverse effects from either drug.Level of Evidence:Moderate

Efficacy and Safety of Combined Therapy with Terazosin and Tolteradine for Patients with Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Associated with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia: a Prospective Study

Abstract:Background The primary objectives of the treatment for the lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) are to produce rapid, sustained, and safe improvements in the symptoms that affect the quality of life in the majority of men over 50. In this study, we evaluated the efficacy and safety of the combined therapy with terazosin (alpha 1-adrenergic receptor antagonist) and tolterodine (anticholinergic agent) for LUTS associated with BPH. Methods This combination study included 69 patients diagnosed with LUTS associated with BPH based on the International Prostate Symptom Scores (IPSS), urinary flow rate, prostate volume, urinary residual, and their serum prostate-specific antigen levels. Initially, 191 patients were treated with terazosin 2 mg once daily for one week. Those patients with continued LUTS after the initial treatment were allocated randomly into two groups: terazosin group (n=36) in which patients were treated with terazosin 2 mg once daily for six weeks, and combination group (n=33) in which patients were treated with both terazosin 2 mg once daily and tolterodine 2 mg twice daily for 6 weeks. Results The IPSS were significantly improved in both groups after treatment, and the reduction of IPSS in the combination group was significantly greater than that in the terazosin group (P < 0.01). A decrease in urgency, frequency and nocturia were the main contributory factors causing the reduction of IPSS in the combination group. The differences about the peak urinary flow rate and the residual urine from the baseline values were noted in both groups after treatment, but were not significant between the two groups. The incidence of adverse effects in the combination group was higher than that in the terazosin group. As expected the most common adverse effect was mouth dryness which was associated with anticholinergic drugs such as tolterodine. Conclusions Patients with LUTS associated BPH appear the improved IPSS after combined therapy with terazosin and tolterodine. This study, although short term and limited numbers of patients, provides evidence that the combined therapy with terazosin plus tolterodine is a good approach for meeting the objectives of rapid, sustained, and safe improvements in the LUTS associated with BPH. And the profile of patients in this study might be used as the indication of such combined therapy for LUTS associated with BPH without urodynamic evaluation.

Abstract:Aim Antimuscarinics and the β3‐adrenoreceptor agonist, mirabegron, are commonly used for treating patients with overactive bladder (OAB) and α1‐adrenoreceptor antagonists (α1‐blockers) are the main pharmacological agents used for treating lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). As these conditions commonly occur together, the aim of this systematic review was to identify publications that compared the use of an α1‐blocker plus mirabegron with an α1‐blocker plus antimuscarinic in men with LUTS secondary to BPH and OAB. A meta‐analysis was subsequently conducted to explore the safety and efficacy of these combinations. Methods Included records had to be from a parallel‐group, randomized clinical trial that was ≥8 weeks in duration. Participants were male with LUTS secondary to BPH and OAB. The indirect analyses that were identified compared an α1‐blocker plus OAB agent with an α1‐blocker plus placebo. The PubMed/Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, the Excerpta Medica Database, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and the ClinicalTrials.gov registry were searched for relevant records up until March 5, 2020. Safety outcomes included incidences of overall treatment‐emergent adverse events (TEAEs) and urinary retention, postvoid residual volume, and maximum urinary flow (Qmax). Primary efficacy outcomes were micturitions/day, incontinence episodes/day, and urgency episodes/day, and secondary outcomes were Overactive Bladder Symptom Score and International Prostate Symptom Score. A Bayesian network meta‐analysis approach was used for the meta‐analysis. Results Out of a total of 1039 records identified, 24 were eligible for inclusion in the meta‐analysis. There were no statistically significant differences between the α1‐blocker plus mirabegron and α1‐blocker plus antimuscarinic groups in terms of the comparisons identified for all the safety and efficacy analyses conducted. Numerically superior results were frequently observed for the α1‐blocker plus mirabegron group compared with the α1‐blocker plus antimuscarinic group for the safety parameters, including TEAEs, urinary retention, and Qmax. For some of the efficacy parameters, most notably micturitions/day, numerically superior results were noted for the α1‐blocker plus antimuscarinic group. Inconsistency in reporting and study variability were noted in the included records, which hindered data interpretation. Conclusion This systematic review and meta‐analysis showed that an α1‐blocker plus mirabegron and an α1‐blocker plus antimuscarinic have similar safety and efficacy profiles in male patients with LUTS secondary to BPH and OAB. Patients may, therefore, benefit from the use of either combination within the clinical setting.

Evolving Role of Silodosin for the Treatment of Urological Disorders – A Narrative Review

Abstract:Abstract Use of α-androgenic receptor blockers remains a mainstay therapeutic approach for the treatment of urological diseases. Silodosin is recommended over other α-blockers for the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), due to its high α1A uroselectivity. Current research data suggest that silodosin is efficacious in the management of various urological diseases. Thus, we herein review the current evidence of silodosin related to its efficacy and tolerability and appraise the available literature that might ultimately aid in management of various urological conditions at routine clinical practice. Literature reveals that silodosin is beneficial in improving nocturia events related to LUTS/BPH. Silodosin exerts effect on relaxing muscles involved in detrusor obstruction, therefore prolonging the need for patients undergoing invasive surgery. Silodosin treatment, either as a monotherapy or combination, significantly improves International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) including both storage and voiding symptoms in patients with BPH/LUTS. Patients on other treatment therapies such as phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitors or other α-blockers are well managed with this drug. Steadily, silodosin has proved beneficial in the treatment of other urological disorders such as chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS), overactive bladder/acute urinary retention (AUR), premature ejaculation (PE), and prostate cancer post brachytherapy-induced progression. In patients with distal ureteral stones, silodosin treatment is beneficial in decreasing stone expulsion time without affecting stone expulsion rate or analgesic need. Moreover, there were significant improvements in intravaginal ejaculation latency time, quality of life scores, and decrease in PE profile among patients with PE. Silodosin has also demonstrated promising results in increasing the likelihood of successful trial without catheter in patients with AUR and those taking antihypertensive drugs. Reports from Phase II studies have shown promising role of silodosin in the treatment of CP/CPPS as well as facilitating ureteral stone passage. From the robust data in this review, further silodosin treatment strategies in the management of different urological conditions need to be focused on.
Efficacy Of Combined Amlodipine/Terazosin Therapy In Male Hypertensive Patients With Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms: A Randomized, Double-Blind Clinical Trial

Abstract:OBJECTIVES To investigate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of Amlodipine alone or in combination with terazosin for the presence of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and hypertension. LUTS and hypertension often coexist in elderly men.METHODS A total of 355 patients with Stage I or 2 hypertension and LUTS (as defined by an International Prostate Symptom Score of >= 10) were randomly assigned to receive 2 mg of terazosin (n = 117), 5 mg of Amlodipine (n = 119), or 5 mg of Amlodipine plus 2 mg of terazosin (n = 119) once daily for a total of 28 days. The primary outcomes were a reduction in the total and subscores of the International Prostate Symptom Score and blood pressure. Analyses were performed by intention to treat. This trial is registered with ClinicalTrials.gov (No. NCT00693199).RESULTS At day 28 of the trial, the Amlodipine Plus terazosin group demonstrated comparable efficacy in lowering the total International Prostate Symptom Score and significant improvement in the presence of overactive bladder compared with the terazosin group (P < .05) and significant improvement in quality of life compared with the Amlodipine group (P < .05). The Amlodipine plus terazosin group also achieved the greatest blood pressure control compared with either the terazosin group (P < .01) or Amlodipine group (P < .05). All 3 treatment regimens were well tolerated by the study patients.CONCLUSIONS The results of this 4-week, double-blind, randomized trial have demonstrated that in Chinese male hypertensive patients with LUTS, low-dose Amlodipine plus terazosin therapy appears to be a safe and effective combination therapy to control both conditions, especially for those with predominant overactive bladder symptoms. Abstract:Background: Tadalafil has been approved for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) for nearly 10 years. However, there are insufficient evidence-based studies of the efficacy and safety of tadalafil in treating lower urinary tract symptoms of BPH (LUTS/BPH). Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic effect and clinical safety of tadalafil monotherapy (5 mg once daily for 12 weeks) for LUTS/BPH. Methods: A total of 13 studies (15 randomized clinical trials [RCTs]) were extracted from the following databases: PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Embase, and Web of Science for the period up to July 2021. The quality of the included RCTs was evaluated independently by two authors, who, respectively, extracted data according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses principles. Conflicts were settled by a discussion with two-third of senior authors. All data analyses were conducted by the Review Manager, version 5.4. Results: Regarding efficacy, 12-week trials indicated that 5 mg once daily tadalafil showed a significantly lower and, consequently, better total International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) than the placebo did (mean difference [MD]: −1.97, 95% CI: −2.24 to −1.70; P < 0.00001). In addition, significant differences were found between the tadalafil regimen and the placebo in the IPSS voiding subscore (MD: −1.30, 95% CI: −1.48 to −1.11; P < 0.00001), the IPSS storage subscore (MD: −0.70, 95% CI: −0.82 to −0.58; P < 0.00001), the IPSS quality of life (MD: −0.29, 95% CI: −0.35 to −0.22; P < 0.00001), and BPH impact index (MD: −0.58, 95% CI: −0.76 to −0.40; P < 0.00001). The safety analysis did not show a significant difference in serious adverse events between the two groups (risk ratio: 1.27, 95% CI: 0.80–2.01; P = 0.31), although the adverse events occurred at a higher incidence in the tadalafil group than in the placebo. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that once daily 5 mg tadalafil is a potentially effective and safe treatment choice with excellent tolerability for patients with LUTS/BPH. Abstract:A novel class of HIV-1 protease inhibitors containing a hydroxymethylcarbonyl (HMC) isostere were designed from the substrate transition state and synthesized. Phenylnorstatine [Pns; (2R,3S)-3-amino-2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutyric acid] and the 2S diastereomer, (2S,3S)-3-amino-2-hydroxy-4-phenylbutyric acid, named allophenylnorstatine (Apns) were effective transition-state mimics, and incorporation of Pns-Pro or Apns-Pro at the P1-P1' site gave potent and specific HIV-1 protease inhibitors. In the inhibitory assays, the chemically synthesized [Ala67,95] HIV-1 protease was used.

Abstract:Background: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is prevalent among the aging male population and often presents with distressing lower urinary tract symptoms. There is emerging evidence that commercial oral poly-herbal traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation combined with Western medicine (WM) may offer enhanced therapeutic effects compared to WM alone in BPH treatment. Nevertheless, determining the optimal formulations for BPH remains controversial. We aimed to employ a network meta-analysis to compare and assess differences among commonly used and recommended poly-herbal TCM formulations outlined in the Chinese guidelines for BPH treatment, providing clinical medication recommendations and guidance. Methods: We extensively searched for RCTs of BPH patients that had oral poly-herbal TCM formulations and WM treatment, covering both English and Chinese databases up to 31 October 2023. The quality of the included studies was evaluated using the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool Version 2 (ROB2). A Bayesian network meta-analysis was performed to assess the effectiveness of various formulations, followed by sensitivity and subgroup analyses. Results: Our meta-analysis included 107 RCTs involving 11,037 patients across 16 oral poly-herbal TCM formulations. The quality of the selected studies was assessed as "Some concerns". Most formulations combined with WM demonstrated superior therapeutic efficacy compared to WM alone. For clinical effective rate, Jingui Shenqi pill (JGSQ) + WM had the highest-ranking probability (87.38%). Concerning International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) and maximum flow rate of urine, Guizhi Fuling capsule (GZFL) + WM was most effective (91.10% and 98.55%). Regarding the quality of life score and postvoid residual urine, Pulean tablet (PLA) + WM ranked first (86.71% and 91.81%). In controlling prostate volume, Huange capsule (HE) + WM demonstrated the highest efficacy (95.65%). Additionally, among the interventions, Lingze (LZ) + WM capsule exhibited the lowest incidence of adverse drug reactions (2.32%). Conclusion: Combining oral poly-herbal TCM formulations with WM may provide greater therapeutic benefits in BPH treatment compared to WM alone. JGSQ, GZFL, PLA, and HE emerged as promising treatment options. However, further rigorous empirical studies are essential to substantiate these findings. Abstract:We are developing a dual modality breast scanner that can obtain x-ray transmission and gamma ray emission images in succession at multiple viewing angles with the breast held under mild compression. These views are reconstructed and fused to obtain three-dimensional images that combine structural and functional information. Here, we describe the dual modality system and present results of phantom experiments designed to test the system's ability to obtain fused volumetric dual modality data sets from a limited number of projections, acquired over a limited (less than 180 degrees) angular range. We also present initial results from phantom experiments conducted to optimize the acquisition geometry for gamma imaging. The optimization parameters include the total number of views and the angular range over which these views should be spread, while keeping the total number of detected counts fixed. We have found that in general, for a fixed number of views centered around the direction perpendicular to the direction of compression, in-plane contrast and SNR are improved as the angular range of the views is decreased. The improvement in contrast and SNR with decreasing angular range is much greater for deeper lesions and for a smaller number of views. However, the z-resolution of the lesion is significantly reduced with decreasing angular range. Finally, we present results from limited angle tomography scans using a system with dual, opposing heads.

Abstract:This study sought to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of combined oral therapy with sildenafil and doxazosin GITS compared to sildenafil monotherapy in treating Chinese patients with erectile dysfunction (ED) and lower urinary tract symptoms secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH/LUTS). The trial was conducted in hospitals in Beijing, Shanghai, Changsha, Wuhan and Guangzhou, five major cities in China. A total of 250 patients diagnosed with ED and BPH/LUTS aged 50-75 years, and who had International Index of Erection Function-5 (IIEF-5) scores <= 21 and International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) >= 10 points, were enrolled and randomly divided into Group A (168 cases; doxazosin GITS 4 mg once daily plus sildenafil 25-100 mg on demand) and Group B (82 cases; sildenafil 25-100 mg on demand). Efficacies were evaluated by IIEF-5 and IPSS scores and a quality of life (QoL) questionnaire, and adverse effects were evaluated during the treatment period. There were no statistically significant differences in mean age, and IIEF-5, IPSS and QoL scores pre-treatment between the two groups. After treatment, IIEF-5, IPSS and QoL scores were significantly improved in Group A, while only IIEF-5 scores were significantly improved in Group B compared with pre-treatment. There were no significant differences in side effects between the two groups. The results indicated that combined therapy with sildenafil and doxazosin GITS for the treatment of ED and BPH/LUTS is safe and effective compared to sildenafil monotherapy.
