Abstract:Two new recorded species of genus Longidorus (L. pius and L. diadecturus) were recovered and collected from rhizosphere of deciduous trees in Hangzhou of Zhejiang Province and Wuhan of Hubei Province, China, respectively. Morphological identity was confirmed using the revised polytomous key of Loof & Chen, 1999.The codes for identifying the species of L.pius and L.diadecturus are A56-B4-C3-D1-E1-F3-G1-H1-I1 and A4-B23-C5-D3-F2-G2-H1-I1,respectively.L.pius was characterized by medium body size(L=4.7-6.3 mm),anterior region abruptly tapering with rounded lip continuous from body profile,odontostyle long(130-143 μm)and short rounded tail.Meanwhile,L.diadecturus could be distinguished by short body size(3.2-4.6 mm), short odontostyle (108-120 μ m), posterior position of guide ring (33-38 μ m), wide lip region and a relatively anterior vulva. Phylogenetically, the rDNA internal transcribed spacer 1 (ITS1) region of L. pius from China showed 99% supported clade with L. pius topotype (AM743178) from Macedonia, and the similar relationship was obtained in L. diadecturus from China with 99% well supported clade to L. diadecturus type population (AF511416)from Canada.In addition,the 28S region of L.diadecturus from China showed 99% supported clade with L.diadecturus type specimen(AY601584),whereas L.pius noticeably clustered to L.raskii(AJ549983)and Longidorus sp. FDL-2011 (FR775757).The two species, L. pius and L. diadecturus were recorded for the first time in China, and the morphological description and phylogenetic relationships of the given species were provided in this study.

Abstract:The subgenus Orientostichus Sciaky & Allegro, 2013 from Southeast China is reviewed. A total of eleven species were recognized from this area, all belonging to the Pterostichus prattii Bates, 1890 species group. They are mainly differentiated by the characters of pronotum basal foveae, elytral microsculpture, male sexual modification on sternite VII, and endophallus of male genitalia. Seven new species are described: Pterostichus ( Orientostichus ) sinuosus sp. nov. (type locality: Guangfuding, Guangxi), P. ( O. ) shan sp. nov. (Nanling, Guangdong), P. ( O. ) luoxiaoensis sp. nov. (Qiyunshan, Hunan), P. ( O. ) separatus sp. nov. (Tianmu Mt., Zhejiang), P. ( O. ) skanda sp. nov. (Tianmu Mt., Zhejiang), P. ( O. ) fujianensis sp. nov. (Luoboding, Fujian), P. ( O. ) deliquus sp. nov. (Ziyundong mt., Fujian). P. ( O. ) matalini Fedorenko, 2023 is newly recorded from China (Jian'ou, Fujian).

Three new combinations, i.e., D. sugae (Watanabe, 1932), D. hamakii (Watanabe, 1932) and D. absonus (Muesebeck, 1965) are proposed. Phalonia epilinana Linne (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) is newly recorded as a host of D. sicarius (Marshall). A key to the Chinese species of this species-group is provided.

A key to all Asian species (except for the eparmata species complex) of this subgenus was provided. All currently available DNA barcode (partial mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) gene) sequences of this subgenus (217 sequences of 54 species) are employed in a molecular analysis using different species delimitation methods. The results indicate that approximately 68.5% (37 of 54 spp.) of Phortica (s. str.) species could be clearly distinguished from closely related morphospecies or cryptic species.

Abstract:Twenty-one (six known and 15 new) species of the genus Leucophenga from the Oriental region are described or redescribed: L. jacobsoni Duda, 1926; L. kurahashii Okada, 1987; L. setipalpis Duda, 1923; L. sorii Kang, Lee Bhang, 1965; L. spinifera Okada, 1987; L. varinervis Duda, 1923; L. acantha Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. alafumosa Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. brevipenis Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. brevitabulata Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. delta Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. forcipula Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. fuscipalpula Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. glabtabulata Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. helvipecta Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. hyaloptera Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. oxyptera Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. platypyga Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. serrateiceps Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. valvata Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. zebrina Huang Chen, sp. nov. A key and a morphological summary table to all these Leucophenga species are provided. Phylogenetic relationships among these 21 Leucophenga species, another 14 congeneric, known species from seven groups, and two representative outgroup taxa are reconstructed using 169 DNA sequences of the partial mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (mtCOI) gene. In sum, 13 of the 21 Leucophenga species, which possess the only diagnostic character of the proxima species group (abdominal third tergite shortened, anteriorly discolored in males), are not monophyletic. Therefore, all the Leucophenga species described or redescribed in this study are temporarily classified as unplaced species (except for L. sorii, which has been assigned to the sorii species group) to avoid further confusion.

(M.) tobiasi (Yuldashev, 2011). Microchelonus (Carinichelonus) cavifrons Tobias, 2000 is synonymized with C. (Ca.) tabonus Sonan, 1932. Abstract:Three new species of the water scavenger beetle genus Oocyclus Sharp, 1882 from China ( Oocyclus extensus sp. nov. , from Xizang, O. latiorificialis sp. nov. and O. ximaensis sp. nov. from Yunnan) are described and illustrated in detail. Additional faunistic data, illustrations of habitus and male genitalia, and a key to Chinese species are provided.

Abstract:Taxonomic, diagnostic and faunistic data for eight species of Hygrodromicus Tronquet, 1981 and three species of Paratrichodromeus Zerche, 1992 (Omaliinae: Anthophagini) from the Middle Asia, the Himalayan Region and China are presented. Three species are (re-) described and illustrated: H. klapperichi Coiffait, 1982 (Afghanistan), H. latilobatus sp. n. (central Nepal), and P. angustilobatus sp. n. (Afghanistan). A new synonymy is established: H coriaceus (Cameron, 1924) = Geodromicus palpalis Coiffait, 1977 syn. n. Habitus of the paratype of Geodromicus palpalis Coiffait, 1977, H. reitteri (Scheerpeltz, 1933), H. wrasei Zerche, 1992 and all species of the genus Paratrichodromeus are illustrated. A distribution map for species of the genus Paratrichodromeus is given. Hygrodromicus reitteri (Scheerpeltz, 1933) is recorded from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for the first time.

One species, D. acutituba Song, Chen Yang, 2006, syn. nov. is synonymized with D. prisca (Nixon, 1967). Fifteen new host are recorded for the following previously described species viz., D. baoris, D. brevicarinata, D. expulse, D. heterusiae, D. hyposidrae, D. kurosawai, D. lacteicolor, and D. prisca and marked by a number sign (#). Eleven new host associations are documented for the following new species: D. alophogaster; D. crassa, D. flexisulcus; D. gleditsia; D. hexagona; D. lincostulata; D. lobesia; D. minuscula; D. multicolor; D. obsolete, and D. rectivena. The hosts of thirty-two species remain unknown. An identification key and distribution maps to the Chinese species of the ultor-group is provided.

Abstract:Leptogenys is the most diverse genus of the ant subfamily Ponerinae and is widely distributed across the world's tropical and subtropical regions. More than 40 species are known from the Oriental realm displaying a wide range of ecologies, although their life history traits remain poorly understood, and new species are frequently discovered. Here, a faunal review of the genus from Hong Kong SAR, southern China is provided. A total of nine species are recorded, with one new species, Leptogenys grohli Hamer, Lee & Guénard, sp. nov. described. Ecological and biogeographic information, including new information on reproductive modes for two species are provided with the ergatoids of L. binghamii Forel, 1900 and L. rufida Zhou et al., 2012 described. Additional records for five of these species within the neighbouring province of Guangdong are also provided. Finally, an illustrated key to species known from Hong Kong is presented, as well as notes on each species' distribution, ecology, and behaviour. An updated provincial distributional checklist of the Leptogenys species of Mainland China and Taiwan is also supplied.

Abstract:The East Palaearctic and North Oriental species of the genus Psyttalia Walker (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Opiinae) are reviewed. Three new species are described and illustrated: P. latinervis Wu & van Achterberg, sp. n. and P. majocellata Wu & van Achterberg, sp. n. from China, and P. spectabilis van Achterberg, sp. n. from Japan. Coeloreuteus formosanus Watanabe, 1934, Opius (Lissosema) proclivis Papp, 1981, O. (Psyttalia) subcyclogaster Tobias, 1998, O. (P.) darasunicus Tobias, 1998, O. (P.) cyclogastroides Tobias, 1998, Psyttalia extensa Weng & Chen, 2001, and Rhogadopsis longicaudifera Li & van Achterberg, 2013, are new synonyms of Psyttalia cyclogaster (Thomson, 1895); Opius (Psyttalia) ophthalmicus Tobias, 1977, and O. (P.) brevitemporalis Tobias, 1998, of Psyttalia carinata (Thomson, 1895) and both O. (P.) vacuus Tobias, 1998, and O. (Lissosema) longurius Chen & Weng, 1995, of Rhogadopsis mediocarinata (Fischer, 1963). Phaedrotoma daghestanicum (Telenga, 1950), Rhogadopsis mediocarinata (Fischer, 1963) and R. mystica (Fischer, 1963) are new combinations. New records are Psyttalia carinata (Thomson, 1895) from The Netherlands and Norway, and P. cyclogaster (Thomson, 1895) from Japan. A lectotype is designated for Psyttalia carinata (Thomson, 1895) and P. cyclogaster (Thomson, 1895). A key to the East Palaearctic and North Oriental species of the genus Psyttalia Walker is included.

Abstract:The genus Microedus LeConte, 1874 (Omaliinae: Anthophagini), previously known only from North America, is recorded for the Palaearctic fauna for the first time. Two palaearctic genera were synonymized with Microedus: Altaiodromicus Zerche, 1992 syn. n. and Liophilydrodes Nakane, 1983 syn. n. (replacement name for Lioplax Nakane & K. Sawada, 1956). The genus Microedus was redescribed, illustrated and its taxonomic relations with other genera of the Hygrogeus group are briefly discussed. Four species are (re-)described and illustrated: M. brevitarsis (Champion, 1925) comb. n. (from Geodromicus) (India: Uttarakhand), M. kastcheevi sp. n. (Altai and Dzhungar mts., eastern Kazakhstan), M. schilenkovi (Zerche, 1992) comb. n. (from Altaiodromicus) (Russia (Altai), Kazakhstan), and M. subtilis (Sharp, 1889) comb. n. (from Liophilydrodes) (Russia, Japan). An additional species from Kashmir remains unnamed due the absence of a male, and is compared with the Himalayan M. brevitarsis. A lectotype is designated for Anthophagus subtilis Sharp, 1889. Several new additional combinations are proposed (all these species were previously attributed to the genus Liophilydrodes): M. flavipennis (Watanabe, 1990) comb. n., M. pullus (Nakane & K. Sawada, 1956) comb. n., M. puncticollis (Nakane & K. Sawada, 1956) comb. n., M. suzukii (Watanabe, 1990) comb. n., and M. yamanakai (Watanabe, 1990) comb. n. The following new synonymies are established: M. subtilis = L. subtilis iturupensis Lafer, 2004 syn. n., = L. troglophilus Nakane & K. Sawada, 1956 syn. n. A key to Palaearctic species of Microedus is provided. Mouthparts and the aedeagus of the Nearctic M. austinianus LeConte, 1874 are illustrated for the first time. A distributional map of Microedus from Middle Asia is provided. Microedus schilenkovi is recorded from Kazakhstan for the first time. A checklist of the genus is presented. The genus Microdeus currently contains 16 species, seven in the Nearctic and nine in the Palaearctic Region.

Abstract:The species of Mesitiinae (Bethylidae) from China are revised and 20 species belonging to five genera are recognized. The following eleven new species are described: Heterocoelia curtisulcus sp. nov., H. unicolor sp. nov., H. varicolor sp. nov., H. remota sp. nov., Incertosulcus afoveatus sp. nov., I. exilisulcus sp. nov., Sulcomesitius angustifrons sp. nov., S. latibilobatus sp. nov., S. sparsulus sp. nov., Zimankos acutulus sp. nov. and Z. hamulosus sp. nov. Two new synonymies are proposed: Heterocoelia sinensis Xu & He, 2006 is synonymized with H. zhaoi Xu & He, 2006, and Sulcomesitius rectus Xu, He & Terayama, 2003 with Zimankos cambodianus (Móczár, 1976). Two species are transferred from Sulcomesitius to Heterocoelia, resulting in H. punctulata (Xu, He & Terayama, 2003) comb. nov. and H. neomoczari (Barbosa & Azevedo, 2018) comb. nov. Two species are transferred from Heterocoelia to Sulcomesitius, resulting in S. zhaoi (Xu & He, 2006) comb. nov. and S. breviculus (Xu & He, 2003) comb. nov. Furthermore, Zimankos mahunkai (Móczár, 1981) is recorded from China for the first time.

Abstract:In this paper, four species of Omphale Haliday, O. longigena Li & Li, sp. nov. , O. longitarsus Li & Li, sp. nov. , O. rectisulcus Li & Li, sp. nov. , and O. xanthosoma Li & Li, sp. nov. , are described as new to science; four species, O. brevibuccata Szelényi, O. connectens Graham, O. melina Yefremova & Kriskovich, and O. obscura (Förster) are reported from China for the first time; and the male of O. melina is reported for the first time in the world. A key to all known species of the genus Omphale in China is provided.

Abstract:The Chinese species of Lilioceris are revised, and three new species are described from Tibet, China: Lilioceris zhentangensis Xu & Liang, sp. nov. , Lilioceris medogensis Xu & Liang, sp. nov. and Lilioceris zayuensis Xu & Liang, sp. nov. Five species of Lilioceris are reported for China as new records: L. dromedarius (Baly, 1861), L. pulchella (Baly, 1859), L. semicostata (Jacoby, 1908), L. unicolor (Hope, 1831) and L. nepalensis Takizawa, 1989. Lilioceris seminigra (Jacoby, 1889) is proposed as a junior synonym of L. unicolor Hope, 1831. Redescriptions, habitus photographs, geographic distributions, host plants (if available) and habitats are provided for these species.

Abstract:Species of the arboreal leafhopper subfamily Eurymelinae formerly included in Idiocerinae (i.e., excluding Macropsini) from the Indian subcontinent are reviewed. Three tribes, Balocerini, Idiocerini and Megipocerini are represented in the subcontinent. The tribes, genera and species are diagnosed and the species are illustrated with an emphasis on the female genitalia. The species in the genus Idioscopus are revised and assigned to new genera. Species groups are recognized in the genus Idioscopus sensu stricto based on forewing venation, head sculpturing and male genitalia. The following new taxa are described and illustrated: Balocha fuscolinea sp. nov. (India: Karnataka), Bellacerus gen. nov. (type species: Idioscopus bellus Viraktamath), Busonia distanti sp. nov. (Nepal; India: Meghalaya), B. manipurensis sp. nov. (India: Manipur), Jogina gen. nov. (type species: Idioscopus robustipennis Viraktamth), Keralus gen. nov. (type species: Idioscopus webbi Viraktamath), Matangia gen. nov. (type species: Idioscopus capriliana Viraktamath & Murphy), M. kodaiensis sp. nov. (India: Tamil Nadu), Metidiocerus gnezdilovi sp. nov. (India: Jammu & Kashmir) , Ulavius gen. nov. (type species: Idioscopus anasuyae Viraktamath & Viraktamath), U. parvathiae sp. nov. (India: Karnataka), U. poornachandrai sp. nov. (India: Karnataka) and U. radhamaniae sp. nov. (India: Karnataka). The genus Metidocerus Ossiannilsson is recorded for the first time from the subcontinent. Busonia amentata Distant is redescribed based on one male paratype from Myitta (Myanmar) and it is shown that the specimen identified as this species by Maldonado-Capriles (1977) is in error. Idiocerus quinquepunctatus Melichar 1903 earlier considered as a junior synonym of I. atkinsoni Lethierry 1889, is resurrected from synonymy and Amritodus brevistylus Viraktamath 1976 syn. nov. is treated as a junior synonym of I. quinquepunctatus. Idioscopus scutellatus (Distant 1908) syn. nov. is considered as a junior synonym of I. clypealis (Lethierry 1898). Balocha anufrievi Kameswara Rao & Ramakrishnan 1979 s yn. nov., B. bifurcata Kamswara Rao, Ramakrishanan & Ghai 1979 s yn. nov. and B. maldonadoi Kamswara Rao & Ramakrishan 1979 s yn. nov. are treated as junior synonms of the wide-spread B. astuta (Melichar 1903) described from Sri Lanka. The following new combinations are proposed: Amritodus quinquepunctataus (Melichar) comb. nov. , Bellacerus bellus (Viraktamath) comb. nov. , Jogina robustipennis (Viraktamath) comb. nov. , Keralus webbi (Viraktamath) comb. nov., Matangia capriliana (Viraktamath & Murphy) comb. nov., M. indica (Viraktamath) comb. nov., M. thapai (Viraktamath & Hongsaprug) comb. nov. , Metidiocerus deodarae (Viraktamath & Sohi) comb. nov., Ulavius anasuyae (Viraktamath & Viraktamath) comb. nov. U. decoratus (Viraktamath) comb. nov. , U. dworakowskae (Viraktamath) comb. nov. , U. jayashriae (Viraktamath & Viraktamath) comb. nov. and U. spectabilis (Viraktamath) comb. nov. These species were placed earlier in the genus Idioscopus except Metidiocerus deodarae which was in the genus Idiocerus . Keys to subtribes, genera and species under each genus are also given. Busonia manipurensis sp. nov. and Busoniomimus manjunathi are actively attended by ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae).

Abstract:Three new species of the genus Oecleopsis Emeljanov, 1971 from China, O. acerbus Lv & Chen, sp. nov. and O. panxianensis Lv & Chen, sp. nov. from Guizhou Province, and O. digitatus Lv & Chen, sp. nov. from Sichuan Province, are described and illustrated. With these additions, the number of species in the genus is increased to 18. An updated identification key and checklist of all known species of Oecleopsis are provided as well as a map of their geographic distributions.

Abstract:Sixteen species of Issidae (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha) were recorded in a single day of collecting in Dong Son-Ky Thuong Nature Reserve, Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam, of which a checklist is provided. Among them, eight species are new to science and described in different tribes and subtribes: in the Hemisphaeriini Hemisphaeriina: Gergithoides olivaceus sp. nov., Hemisphaerius bresseeli sp. nov. and Neogergithoides scapularis sp. nov.; Hemisphaeriini Mongolianina: Mongoliana vietnamica sp. nov.; Kodaianellini: Kodaianella mua sp. nov.; Parahiraciini Parahiraciina: Pusulissus quangninhensis sp. nov. and Rostrolatum curviceps sp. nov.; Sarimini: Pseudocoruncanius obliquus sp. nov. The new genus Melichergithus gen. nov. is described to accommodate Gergithus gravidus Melichar, 1906 and the new combination Melichergithus gravidus (Melichar, 1906) gen. et comb. nov. is proposed; a black form of the species is recorded for the first time and described. Two species, Longieusarima lunulia Wang, Bourgoin & Zhang, 2017 and Parallelissus fuscus Meng, Qin & Wang, 2020, are recorded from Vietnam for the first time, while another species Maculergithus luteomaculatus (Constant & Pham, 2016) is recorded for the first time from Quang Ninh Province. Four species were represented by single females that could not be identified to species level, belonging to the genera Clypeosmilus Gnezdilov & Soulier-Perkins, 2017, Fortunia Distant, 1909 (two species) and Kodaianellissus Wang, Bourgoin & Zhang, 2017. The five following genera are recorded from Vietnam for the first time: Kodaianella Fennah, 1956, Rostrolatum Che, Zhang & Wang, 2020, Longieusarima Wang, Bourgoin & Zhang, 2017, Parallelissus Meng, Qin & Wang, 2020 and Kodaianellissus . The type material of Hemisphaerius rufovarius Walker, 1858 and its junior synonyms H. scymnoides Walker, 1862, H. testaceus Distant, 1906 and H. virescens Distant, 1906 was studied and the male terminalia described; as a result, H. rufovarius is removed from the fauna of Vietnam and China. Hemisphaerius bipunctatus Melichar, 1906 is also removed from the fauna of Vietnam after examination of the corresponding specimens. This study provides a 25% increase in the number of Issidae of Vietnam; a complete list of the 51 species recorded from the country, as well as a map of the number of recorded species per province, are given and discussed.
