Abstract:Developing a robust material holding antimicrobial assets has been an efficient strategy for reducing the risk of infections related to healthcare, significantly with medical devices and touch surfaces. Molybdenum-based compounds have drawn momentous attraction because of their unique characteristics. A series of undoped and 5 % rare earth (Ce & La) doped metal (Ni, Co & Bi) molybdate nanocomposites have been prepared by facile microwave combustion method and characterized. The present study investigates the effect of dopants on crystal structure and morphology, and their impact on anti-bacterial properties is noticed. The UV–Vis. absorption spectra of all samples show a broad absorption band between 280 and 430 nm. The antibacterial properties of the prepared nanocomposites have been examined by the agar diffusion method against three Gram-positive and two Gram-negative bacteria, showing good bactericidal efficiency for all samples, except 5 % Ce–NiMoO 4 (antibacterial activity exclusively against Gram-positive bacteria) and 5 % La–NiMoO 4 (no antibacterial activity) nanocomposites. This work provided a novel pathway in the biomaterial field.

Lanthanum Doped Zinc Molybdate: Antibacterial and Photo-Catalysis Properties

Abstract:This study investigates unique and specific properties of the lanthanum based zinc molybdate nanocomposite material. The lanthanum zinc molybdate nanocomposite material was synthesized using a simple and low cost “co-precipitation” method. The synthesized nano materials had structural, vibrational and morphological properties, determined by X-ray diffraction, fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The synthesized nanomaterial was characterised using a range of techniques. X-ray diffraction was used to determine a particle size of 65.7 nm of the disc shaped hexagonal particle. Further characterisation was done using UV-visible spectroscopy and band gap energy analysis. The band gap value was found to be 3.58 eV. The nanocomposite also exhibited antibacterial activity against bacterial strains of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus . In the presence of light and air, nanoparticles of lanthanum zinc molybdate nanocomposite were found to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli due to generation of singlet oxygen and hydrogen oxide radical. However, the same was not observed for S. aureus . Photocatalytic property of lanthanum zinc molybdate nanocomposite was determined using an aqueous solution of methylene blue dye. lanthanum zinc molybdate nanocomposite showed photo-degradation due to the formation of singlet oxygen and hydrogen oxide radical. Complete decolourization of blue colour of the of methylene blue solution at 6 pH was attained, using 40.0 mg lanthanum zinc molybdate nanocomposite, with a constant time interval. With time, the activity of lanthanum zinc molybdate nanocomposite was also found to decrease due to the formation of a hydrogen oxide layer on the surface of the nano material. This could be washed off with ethanol and distilled water. After drying, the catalytic nano particle could be reused for another reaction.

Abstract:Antibiotics have been considered as effective weapons against bacterial infections since they were discovered. However, antibiotic resistance caused by overuse and abuse of antibiotics is an emerging public health threat nowadays. Fully defeating bacterial infections has become a tough challenge. In this work, cerium oxide was fabricated on medical titanium by thermolysis of cerium-containing metal-organic framework (Ce-BTC). Regulation of Ce (Ⅲ)/Ce (Ⅳ) ratios was realized by pyrolysis of Ce-BTC in different gas environment, and the antibacterial properties were studied. The results indicated that, in acidic conditions, ceria with a high Ce (Ⅲ)/Ce (Ⅳ) ratio owned high oxidase-like activity which could produce reactive oxygen species. Moreover, ceria with high Ce (Ⅲ) content possessed strong ATP deprivation capacity which could cut off the energy supply of bacteria. Based on this, ceria with a high Ce (Ⅲ)/Ce (Ⅳ) ratio exhibited superior antibacterial activity.

Abstract:In this study, a SiO 2 support was modified with zinc and cerium to obtain a material with excellent antibacterial properties. The optimal preparation conditions resulting in the highest antibacterial efficiency (c Zn = 0.83 M, c Ce = 0.005 M, reaction time = 1.6 h) were identified by applying response surface methodology. The antibacterial experiments were carried out based on the coating plate method using Escherichia coli. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analyses revealed an evenly distributed composition with a lamellar structure in the samples. Further analysis through X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) indicated that zinc and cerium were successfully modified onto the silica carriers in the form of oxides. The high percentage of Ce 4+ /Ce 3+ ions promotes an increase in anti-inflammatory cytokines and a decrease in pro-inflammatory cytokines, thereby enhancing antimicrobial properties. The detection of ion dissolution and specific surface area and particle size explained that the addition of cerium promoted the loading and release of antimicrobial zinc ions. The introduction of cerium into the ZnO lattice results in the replacement of zinc atomic sites with cerium atomic sites. This substitution causes disorganization in the arrangement of zinc ions in certain regions, leading to a weakening of the Zn–O bond and an increased release of zinc ions. The content of zinc ions increased from 1.06% to 1.79%, which increased the specific surface area of the composites from 214.50803 m 2 /g to 308.86977 m 2 /g, which gave the materials high adsorption properties, thus improving their antimicrobial performance. Combined with the positive synergistic effect factor and synergistic coefficient of 1.89 calculated by the response surface method, it was observed that a notable synergistic effect exists between zinc and cerium.

Abstract:Perovskite-type lanthanum cobaltate (LaCoO3) has been attracting extensive attention in photocatalysis; yet the performance is generally limited by the low structural defects and poor oxygen migration. Herein, results from first principles calculations show that Al and Ce codoping at the A and B sites of LaCoO3 can induce the formation of oxygen vacancies, which, along with the exposed Co (012) facets, facilitate the adsorption of oxygen and water molecules, a critical step in the photocatalytic production of reactive oxygen species that are known as potent antimicrobial agents. Motivated by these theoretical insights, Ce and Al codoped LaCoO3 is prepared experimentally via a simple sol–gel procedure. Spectroscopic measurements show that the cationic doping leads to the generation of abundant oxygen vacancies and Ce4+/Ce3+ species, fast electron transport, as well as a reduced band gap, as compared to the undoped counterpart. These unique structural characteristics enhance the separation and transport of photogenerated carriers and hence the generation of reactive oxygen species. Indeed, the obtained La0.9Ce0.1Co0.9Al0.1O3 exhibits excellent photocatalytic antibacterial activity, where 98.8% of Escherichia coli is eliminated with La0.9Ce0.1Co0.9Al0.1O3 at 1 mg mL−1 under visible photoirradiation for 30 min, in comparison to only 46.8% with undoped LaCoO3. These results underline the significance of structural engineering in enhancing the photocatalytic activity of perovskite materials for antibacterial applications.

Physicochemical and Antibacterial Properties of Bivalent Freeze and Furnace Dried Nanoscale Cerium Oxide

Abstract:Abstract Bone healing is a complex process, and if not managed, can lead to bacterial infections, non-union and compromised healing of bone. The broad overuse of antibiotics has led to the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Due to the growing urgency to minimise the dependency on antibiotic drugs, alternative treatment strategies, including the use of nanoparticles, have attracted significant attention. Bivalent cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ce 4+ and Ce 3+ ) synthesised via a hydroxide mediated approach were calcined at 280, 385 and 815 ̊C identified using the Simultaneous Thermal Analysis technique. The resulting nanoparticles were characterised using X-ray Powder Diffraction, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy, and Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy. The antibacterial potential of cerium oxide nanoparticles corresponds to the particle size and the presence of oxygen vacancies in the fluorite crystal structure. The antibacterial efficacy of nanoparticles was characterised at concentrations of 50, 100 and 200 μg/ml and tested against the following strains, Escherichia coli , Staphylococcus epidermis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa by determining the half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC 50 ). The calcination temperature was found to affect the agglomeration tendency, particle size distribution and the ratio of Ce 3+ :Ce 4+ oxidation states. The hydroxide mediated approach yielded spherical nanoparticles of ceria with particles size ranging from 4 nm to 53 nm. The freeze-dried bivalent nanoparticles exhibited 18.5 ± 1.2%, 10.5 ± 4.4%, and 13.8 ± 5.8% increased antibacterial efficacy against Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus epidermis , respectively compared to nanoparticles consisting solely of Ce 4+ ions, i.e. nanoparticles calcined at 815 ̊C.

Abstract:A series of Ce-2[Zr1-x(Cr-1/Nb-2(1/2))x](3)(MoO4)(9) (x = 0.02-0.10) ceramics as microwave dielectrics were synthesized and investigated in terms of sintering behaviors, phase compositions, and microwave dielectric properties. The X-ray diffraction data confirmed that the pure phase ceramics were synthesized at 825 degrees C and all the samples belong to trigonal structure with the R-3c space group. Rietveld refinement was used to achieve the crystal structure parameters by adopting a FULPROF software. The results identified the shrinkage and distortion of [ZrO6] octahedron caused by (Cr1/2Nb1/2)(4+) substituted Zr4+. The chemical bond theory was utilized to analyze the relation between chemical bond feature and microwave dielectric properties for understanding the inherent mechanism of the dielectric response. The infrared spectra analysis identified that the spectroscopically determined microwave dielectric loss is consistent with the directly measured, and the inherent loss is mainly derived from the scattering of lattice vibration phonons. Ce-2[Zr-0.94(Cr1/2Nb1/2)(0.06)](3)(MoO4)(9) ceramic obtained at 825 degrees C for 6 h exhibits considerable properties: relative permittivity (epsilon(r)) = 10.56, quality factor (Q x f) = 73,224 GHz, and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (tau(f)) = -7.96 ppm/degrees C. It indicates that the substitution of (Cr1/2Nb1/2)(4+) is an effective way to optimize microwave dielectric materials.

Abstract:This study involves the synthesis and characterization of Cerium (III) Mixed-ligand complexes employing 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde oxime (BO) as the primary ligand and organic compounds 2-amino-3-(1H-indol-3-yl)propanoic acid (L1) , 2-amino-4-(methylthio)butanoic acid (L2) , 2-amino-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propanoic acid (L3) , 2-Amino-3-sulfhydrylpropanoic acid (L4) as secondary ligands. The resulting complexes exhibit a brown color and display stability, as evidenced by conductometric measurements indicating non-electrolyte behavior. FTIR analysis reveals coordination through O and N donor atoms, while thermogravimetric studies highlight stability with coordinated water molecules, supported by high decomposition temperatures. UV studies demonstrate intra-ligand and ligand-to-metal charge transfer transitions. Elemental analysis confirms a 1:2:1 ratio for the complexes. Antibacterial assays using agar cup and tube dilution methods affirm the complexes' antibacterial activity against specific bacterial strains.
Influence of cerium and iron substitution on the Bi2WO6 hierarchical microsphere and their enhanced photocatalytic degradation performance

Abstract:A facile hydrothermal approach was employed to synthesize cerium and iron co-doped Bi2WO6 photocatalysts, and their photocatalytic performance for the degradation of cationic rhodamine B (RhB) and thionine (TH) dyes under UV–visible light illumination was investigated. Powder XRD investigation revealed that the Ce and Fe ions significantly influenced the Bi2WO6 crystal structure, while HR-XPS confirmed the valence states of Ce and Fe ions in the Bi2WO6 lattice. The light absorption wavelength of the co-doped samples was red-shifted when compared to the pristine Bi2WO6. The photoluminescence spectroscopy results showed that the synergistic effect of the Ce–Fe intermediate state in the Ce–Fe co-doped Bi2WO6 photocatalyst significantly reduced the recombination of photoinduced electron-hole pairs and boosted photocatalytic degradation activity. Furthermore, the stability of the best-performed catalyst was verified using recycling tests. The degrading efficiency of TH and RhB was not significantly affected after five repeated cycles. A potential mechanism for increased photocatalytic activity was also discussed.

Abstract:Nasal vascular and airflow resistances have been measured in dogs, simultaneously on both sides separately. Vascular resistance was measured either by constant flow perfusion of the terminal branch of the maxillary artery (which supplies, via the sphenopalatine artery, the nasal septum, most of the turbinates and the nasal sinuses) or by measuring blood flow through this artery, maintained by the dog's own blood pressure. Airflow resistance was assessed by inserting balloon‐tipped endotracheal catheters into the back of each nasal cavity via the nasopharynx, and measuring transnasal pressure at constant airflow through each side of the nose simultaneously. Preliminary experiments indicated that there was 5‐10% collateral anastomosis between the two sides. Close‐arterial injection of drugs showed different patterns of response. Adrenaline, phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine and low doses of prostaglandin F2 alpha increased vascular resistance and lowered airway resistance. Salbutamol, methacholine and histamine lowered vascular resistance and increased airway resistance. Dobutamine decreased airway resistance with a small increase in vascular resistance. Prostaglandins E1, E2 and F2 alpha (high dose) decreased both vascular and airway resistances. Substance P, eledoisin‐related peptide and vasoactive intestinal polypeptide lowered vascular resistance with little change in airway resistance. The results are interpreted in terms of possible drug actions on precapillary resistance vessels, sinusoids and venules, and arteriovenous anastomoses. It is concluded that nasal airway resistance cannot be correlated with vascular resistance or blood flow, since the latter has a complex and ill‐defined relationship with nasal vascular blood volume.
Detection of Alzheimer's disease through automated hippocampal segmentation

Abstract:We trained our approaches using T1-weighted brain MRIs from 30 subjects [10 normal elderly, 10 mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and 10 Alzheimer's disease (AD)], and tested on an independent set of 40 subjects (20 normal, 20 AD). Here we registered all of the brain images into the same stereotaxic space. Then we define a bounding box around the training hippocampal plus some neighborhood voxels). We compared two automated methods for hippocampal segmentation using different machine learning algorithms: 1) support vector machines (SVM) with manual feature selection, 2) hierarchical SVM with automated feature selection (Ada-SVM). After surface reconstruction, we computed significance maps, and overall corrected p-values, for the 3-D profile of shape differences between AD and normal subjects. We assessed each approach's accuracy relative to manual segmentations, and its power to map AD effects. Our AdaBoost and Ada-SVM segmentations compared favorably with the manual segmentations. We also evaluated how segmentation accuracy depended on the size of the training set, providing practical information for future users of this technique.
Surfactant-Free Synthesis of Melon Seed-Like CeO2 and Ho@CeO2 Nanostructures with Enriched Oxygen Vacancies: Characterization and Their Enhanced Antibacterial Properties

Abstract:To overcome the poor antibacterial performance of cerium oxide (CeO2) nanoparticles at low concentrations, melon seed-shaped CeO2 (MS-CeO2) and holmium (Ho)-doped CeO2 (Ho@MS-CeO2) nanoparticles were synthesized using a simple precipitation method without the addition of any surfactants. The surface morphology, phase structure, crystallinity, Ce3+ and Ce4+ valence, lattice defects, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production of both synthesized nanostructures were examined using different techniques, i.e., scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energydispersive X-ray (EDX), resolution transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), Raman spectroscopy, ultraviolet (UV) spectra, fluorescence spectra, and zeta potential (ζ). The results show that under certain stirring and aging temperatures, CeO2 and Ho-doped CeO2 nanoparticles with a melon seed-like morphology can be prepared in a short period. Both nanoparticles were tested as antiseptic agents against G+ and G - bacteria (E. coli and S. aureus), and the results confirmed that the Ho@MS-CeO2 nanostructures exhibited remarkable antimicrobial activity at a low concentration (0.5 mg/L) compared with the control group, which is attributed to the reversible conversion of Ce3+ and Ce4+ in the ceria crystal lattice, enriched oxygen vacancy, ROS species production, and positive surface charge.

Abstract:Forty‐five patients with schizophrenia or schizophreniform disorder admitted to hospital for the first time had a neurological examination, including integrative sensory and complex motor acts, by a trained neurologist. The patients were studied by CT (computerized tomography) and rCBF (regional cerebral blood flow) as well. A control group of 24 healthy volunteers was included. The patients had significantly more neurological abnormalities (NA) than the healthy volunteers. Medication did not explain the discrepancy. The NA were associated with sulcal enlargement and smaller brains as visualized by CT but not with ventricular enlargement. There was no association between the regional flow values and NA.
Structure, Antioxidant Activity and Antimicrobial Study of Light Lanthanide Complexes with p-Coumaric Acid

Abstract:This paper presents the results of a study of the effects of the lanthanide ions Ce3+, Pr3+, Nd3+ and Sm3+ on the electronic structure and antioxidant and biological (antimicrobial and cytotoxic) properties of p-coumaric acid (p-CAH2). Structural studies were conducted via spectroscopic methods (FTIR, ATR, UV). Thermal degradation studies of the complexes were performed. The results are presented in the form of TG, DTG and DSC curves. Antioxidant properties were determined via activity tests against DPPH, ABTS and OH radicals. The reducing ability was tested via CUPRAC assays. Minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of the ligand and lanthanide complexes were determined on E. coli, B. subtilis and C. albicans microorganisms. The antimicrobial activity was also determined using the MTT assay. The results were presented as the relative cell viability of C. albicans, P. aeruginosa, E. coli and S. aureus compared to controls and expressed as percentages. In the obtained complexes in the solid phase, lanthanide ions coordinate three ligands in a bidentate chelating coordination mode through the carboxyl group of the acid. Spectroscopic analysis showed that lanthanide ions increase the aromaticity of the pi electron system of the ligand. Thermal analysis showed that the complexes are hydrated and have a higher thermal stability than the ligand. The products of thermal decomposition of the complexes are lanthanide oxides. In the aqueous phase, the metal combines with the ligand in a 1:1 molar ratio. Antioxidant activity tests showed that the complexes have a similar ability to remove free radicals. ABTS and DPPH tests showed that the complexes have twice the ability to neutralise radicals than the ligand, and a much higher ability to remove the hydroxyl radical. The abilities of the complexes and the free ligand to reduce Cu2+ ions in the CUPRAC test are at a similar level. Lanthanide complexes of p-coumaric acid are characterised by a higher antimicrobial capacity than the free ligand against Escherichia coli bacteria, Bacillus subtilis and Candida albicans fungi.

Abstract:A series of new complexes of the general formula [Ln(L)Cl 2 ]Cly·4H 2 O (Ln = Er and Ta) and [Yb(L)(H 2 O) 2 ]Cl 3 , L = N,N'-((ethane-1,2-diylbis(sulfanediyl))bis(2,1-phenylene))bis-(2-morpholino-acetamide) were synthesized and characterized. The physical properties of these complexes were investigated including melting point, color, and percentage yield. Spectral and physico-analytical techniques collectively with elemental analyses were utilized to structurally elucidate the synthesized complexes. At room temperature, complexes exhibited similar solution absorption spectra in the UV–Vis region. As shown by thermal analysis, the complexes lose water molecules first, then anions, and finally ligand molecule, leaving a metal oxide residue. The complexes resulted from monomolar coordination of neutral tetradentate ligand through the two amide nitrogen and the two sulfur, with octahedral geometries. Ligand and its Ta(V) complex were structurally characterized by X-ray powder diffraction. Their optical band gaps demonstrated the ligand and complexes have semiconducting properties. Multiple bonding patterns were discovered in molecular docking simulations of the ligand against SARS-CoV-2 (6Y84) and E. coli DNA gyrase (5MMN). The binding energy of the complexes revealed active compounds capable of inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 and E. coli DNA gyrase. The antioxidant activity of the ligand and its Ln-complexes was investigated, yielding some surprising results. Finally, it is worthy to note that, the biochemical outcomes revealed that these complexes may be promising antibacterial agents. Aluminum alloys (AlSi) corrosion inhibition was investigated in 1 M HCl using potentiodynamic polarization (PP) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The inhibition efficiency was found to be 96.36 % at 500 ppm inhibitor in 1 M HCl.

Abstract:Zinc molybdate powders were synthesized by hydrothermal methods using different salt precursors, and in the presence (or absence) of citric acid as surfactant. As a function of precursors, synthesis conditions and post‐synthesis annealing, powders with various sizes (from tens of nm up to 10 μm) and different crystallographic structures (α, β, hydrated, and nonhydrated mixed α‐ and β‐phases) were obtained. Bactericidal properties of suspensions containing different concentrations (1, 5, and 10 mM) of powders of α, β, and mixed α/β ZnMoO 4 phases were tested against Escherichia coli . Optical density measurements and the results obtained from the observation of cultures growth on agar petri dishes clearly showed that ZnMoO 4 possesses antibacterial properties. The antibacterial efficiency was dependent on the concentration of powders in suspension, as well as on the crystalline structure in relation to the crystals size/surface structuring. The intrinsic semiconducting properties of this material, together with the defect states present in the bandgap which hindered the recombination of electron–hole pairs produced under visible light, as well as electronic transitions were factors proposed as being responsible for the observed antibacterial activity by the creation of reactive oxygen species and hydrogen peroxide.

Abstract:Cerium oxide fine particles injected with metallic nanoparticles were produced using the co-precipitation method and characterized using various techniques such as XRD, SEM, FTIR, UV–Vis, and PL. Both injected and non-doped ceria nanoparticles exhibited a crystallographic structure similar to calcium fluoride. The nanoparticles ranged in size from 25 to 74 nm and had an inconsistent spherical shape. EDX analysis confirmed the presence of Erbium (Er) and Barium (Ba) in the ceria nanocrystal lattices. UV–Vis experiments showed that the optical band gap efficiency of purified CeO 2 NPs was 3.1 eV, while doped CeO 2 NPs had an energy level of 2.9 eV. The nanoparticles exhibited a sharp emission peak at approximately 347 nm. The synthesized CeO 2 NPs showed strong antibacterial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Bacillus subtilis , Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli, with inhibition zones ranging from 16 to 20 mm. Moderate antibacterial effects were also observed against Pseudomonas aeruginosa . Overall, the results demonstrate that the doping of ceria nanoparticles with metallic nanoparticles can significantly enhance their antibacterial properties. This research paves the way for the development of novel antibacterial agents with potential applications in various fields such as medicine, food packaging, and water treatment.

Abstract:Under the current climate, physicians prescribe antibiotics for treating bacterial infections, and such a limitation to a single class of drugs is disadvantageous since antibiotic-resistant bacteria have adapted to withstanding their stresses. Antibiotic alternatives are sought, and herein metal nanoparticles comprised of the rare earth elements cerium and yttrium were determined to invoke toxicity on methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and a multi-drug-resistant strain of Escherichia coli (MDR E. coli). Ceria nanoparticles, yttrium-doped ceria nanoparticles, and cerium-doped yttria nanoparticles were fabricated by a wet chemical route, homogeneous precipitation in hexamethylenetetramine (HMT). To demonstrate the drastic variations in nanoparticle structure and toxicity that occur when the synthesis method and solvent are substituted, two additional approaches involving solvothermal and hydrothermal reactions were pursued in the production of yttrium-containing nanoparticles. Intrinsic nanoparticle features of size, morphology, and composition were construed by physiochemical characterizations, which aided in the elaboration of chemical reaction and growth mechanisms. It was determined by in vitro plate count assays that ceria nanoparticles which had been doped using the yttrium metal precursor after 30 min of the HMT reaction, at 500 μg/mL, were the most effective at inhibiting MRSA growth without imposing significant cytotoxicity on human dermal fibroblast cells. A total of 500 μg/mL of cerium- and yttrium-containing nanoparticles, prepared in a 1:1 molar ratio, were similarly biocompatible and antimicrobial, in the case of MDR E. coli. Indeed, as this study showed, nanoalternatives to antibiotics are feasible, adaptable, and can be facilely produced. The possible clinical applications of the rare earth metal nanoparticles are variegated, and ceria and yttria nanoparticles are additionally credited in the literature as dynamic antioxidants, regulators of tissue regeneration, and anticancer agents.

Abstract:Ce2[Zr1−x(Zn1/3Ta2/3)x]3(MoO4)9 compounds were successfully prepared and researched. Phase analysis, microstructures and properties were studied scientifically by XRD, SEM and network analyzer, respectively. Rietveld refinement of all compositions confirmed that a single phase in trigonal crystal structure with R-3c space group was obtained. Infrared reflection spectrum results showed the permittivity was related to the absorption of phonon oscillation. SEM images revealed that the average grain size decreased with the increase of (Zn1/3Ta2/3)4+. Microwave dielectric properties analysis indicated that the permittivity was related to the polarizability, Mo-O made a more significant contribution to the Q × f , and τ f was related to the octahedral distortion. The optimum properties (ε r = 10.77, Q × f = 74,682 GHz, τ f = −12.84 ppm/°C) were obtained when x = 0.04 sintered at 750 °C.

Abstract:Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) hybrid film containing cerium, tin and folic acid modified nano titanium dioxide is a new functional material with good compatibility, light resistance and heat resistance. In this work, the PVC hybrid film was prepared by replacing cerium with lanthanum. The hybrid film was characterized by thermogravimetric infrared spectroscopy, dynamic mechanical analysis, atomic force microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, tensile strength and thermal aging. The results show that the initial thermal stability of the hybrid film containing lanthanum is slightly higher than that of the control sample (conversion α< 1.9%). For the same gaseous component plasticizer, the peak intensity of the ester based infrared characteristic group is higher than that of the hybrid film containing lanthanum, indicating that the intermolecular force between lanthanum and plasticizer is greater than that of cerium. In the range of 350-575°C and the wave number range of 2850-3100 cm-1, the peak height of the lanthanum containing film is significantly higher than that of the control sample, which may be due to the difference of the outer layer electrons. The peak intensity of O and C atoms on the surface of the hybrid film containing lanthanum is significantly lower than that of the control sample, indicating that the surface relative concentration of lanthanum atoms is lower than that of cerium atoms. The surface roughness RMS of the hybrid film containing lanthanum is significantly lower than that of the organic tin film, which is the result of the attraction between folic acid modified TiO2, lanthanum and tin and the carbon chlorine bond in PVC. It has the function of a potential ultrafiltration membrane. In addition, the hybrid film containing 1phr lanthanum shows good energy storage modulus and low temperature resistance. The prepared hybrid film shows the characteristics of a potential multi-functional material.
