Abstract:THE comparative technique is one of those most fully recognized in scientific methodology. The present writer, over the last eight years, has kept a nightly diary of dreams. These records are deposited in the Library of the University of Sheffield, England. In some cases the rough notes have also been deposited. The total of records must, hence, amount to about two-and-a-half thousand. They do not record any analysis in depth. But that scientist would be a poor one who could make nothing of so extensive a collection of clinical data. What follows are mere jottings, indicating their possible utility. The present writer has collected the data partly as a matter of curiosity; partly as a mental training; and partly to rid his mind of the irritating cumber of memories, partly recalled, but which fade from lack of record and lose accuracy.
