Abstract:With the help of AdS/CFT correspondence, we derive the desired response function of QFT on the boundary of the non-commutative black hole. Using the virtual optical system with a convex lens, we obtain the Einstein rings of the black hole from the response function. All the results show that the holographic ring always appears with the concentric stripe when the observer located at the north pole. With the change of the observation position, the ring changes into a luminosity-deformed ring, or bright spot. We also investigate the effect of the non-commutative parameter on the ring and find the ring radius becomes larger as the parameter increases. The effect of the temperature on the ring radius is also investigated, it is found that the higher the temperature, the smaller the ring radius. In addition, we also obtain the ingoing angle of the photon via geometric optics, as expected, this angle is consistent well with the angle of the Einstein ring obtained via holography.

Abstract:Based on the AdS/CFT correspondence, we studied the holographic Einstein images of a Gauss-Bonnet AdS black hole in the bulk from a given response function on AdS boundary. For the absolute amplitude of total response function, it shows that there always exists the interference pattern as the scalar wave passed through the black hole. And, the absolute amplitude depends closely on the properties of Gaussian source and spacetime geometry. More importantly, we also find that the holographic images always appears as a ring with the concentric stripe surrounded when the observer located at the north pole. At other positions, this ring will change into a luminosity-deformed ring, or two light points. In addition, the effects of Gauss-Bonnet parameter $\alpha$, wave source and optical system on the holographic images have been carefully addressed throughout of paper. Finally, we conclude that the holographic images in different types of black holes with some different features may shed some deep insight on the existence of a gravity dual for a given material.

Abstract:By utilizing the AdS/CFT correspondence and wave optics techniques, we conducted an extensive study of the imaging properties of holographic Einstein rings in the context of Anti-de Sitter (AdS) black holes (BHs) in Horndeski theory. Our results indicate that the optical characteristics of these holographic Einstein rings are significantly influenced by the observer's position, the physical parameters of the BH, the nature of the wave source, and the configuration of the optical system. Specifically, when the observer is positioned at the north pole of the AdS boundary, the holographic image prominently displays a ring structure aligning with the BH's photon sphere. We thoroughly analyzed how various physical parameters -- including the observation position, event horizon radius, temperature, and the parameter $\gamma$ in Horndeski theory -- affect the holographic Einstein rings. These parameters play a crucial role in determining the rings' radius and brightness, with variations potentially causing the ring structures to deform or even transform into bright spots. Furthermore, our comparative analysis between wave optics and geometric optics reveals a strong agreement in predicting the positions and brightnesses of both the photon ring and the Einstein ring. This research offers new insights into the spacetime geometry of BHs in Horndeski theory and proposes a promising framework for exploring the gravitational duals of strongly coupled systems.

Holographic study on Einstein ring for a charged black hole in conformal gravity

Abstract:With the help of AdS/CFT correspondence, the Einstein ring of a charged black hole in conformal gravity has been studied. Imposing an oscillating Gauss source on one side of the AdS boundary which propagates in the bulk, we derive the response function on the other side of the boundary. With the proposed wave optics system, we observe the Einstein ring as expect. The results reveal that when the observer locates at the north pole, the Einstein ring and surrounding concentric stripes always exist. While the observer departs away from the north pole, the ring becomes into a luminosity-deformed ring or light spot. We also investigate the effect of temperature $T$, chemical potential $u$ and gravity-related parameters $c_0$ on the ring radius. We find the ring radius increases with the decrease of the temperature, increase of the chemical potential, and increase of the gravity-related parameters respectively. To check the results in the framework of holography, we investigate the ingong angle of photon at the photon ring via geometric optics and find it is consistent with the angle of Einstein ring obtained via holography.

Abstract:In the context of holography, the Einstein ring of an AdS black hole (BH) in massive gravity (MG) is depicted. An oscillating Gaussian source on one side of the AdS boundary propagates in bulk, and we impose a response function to explain it. Using a wave optics imaging system, we obtain the optical appearance of the Einstein ring. Our research reveals that the ring can change into a luminosity-deformed ring or light spots depending on the variation of parameters and observational positions. When observers are positioned at the north pole, the holographic profiles always appear as a ring with concentric stripe surroundings, and a bright ring appears at the location of the photon sphere of the BH. These findings are consistent with the radius of the photon sphere of the BH, which is calculated in geometrical optics. Our study contributes to a better understanding of the analytical studies of holographic theory, which can be used to evaluate different types of BHs for a fixed wave source and optical system.

Abstract:With the help of AdS/CFT correspondence, we analyze the holographic Einstein images via the response function of the complex scalar field as a probe wave on the AdS Schwarzschild scalar-tensor-vector gravity (STVG) black hole (BH). We find that the amplitude of the response function $|\langle O\rangle|$ decreases with the increasing values of the coupling parameter $\alpha$, while it increases with the decreasing values of temperature $T$. The frequency $\omega$ of the wave source also plays a significant role in wave periods, as we increase the values of $\omega$, we find a decrease in periods of waves, which means that the total response function closely depends on the wave source. Further, we investigate the optical appearance of the holographic images of the BH in bulk. We found that the holographic ring always appears with the concentric stripe surrounded when the observer is located at the north pole, and an extremely bright ring appears when the observer is at the position of the photon sphere of the BH. With the change of the observational angle, this ring will change into a luminosity-deformed ring or a bright light spot. The corresponding brightness profiles show that the luminosity of the ring decreases, and the shadow radius increases with increasing values of $\alpha$. The relation between temperature $T$ and the inverse of the horizon $h_{e}$ is discussed, which shows the smaller values at the beginning of the horizon $h_{e}$, and then increases as the horizon radius increases. This effect can be used to distinguish the STVG BH solution from other BH solutions. Moreover, these significant features are also reflected in the Einstein ring and the corresponding brightness profiles. In addition, we compare the results obtained by wave optics and geometric optics, which are aligned well, implying that the holographic scheme adopted in this paper is valid.

Holographic Einstein Ring of Deformed AdS-Schwarzschild Black Holes

Abstract:The Einstein ring of a deformed AdS-Schwarzschild black hole (BH) is investigated under the wave optics framework. When the source is fixed on the AdS boundary, we can obtain the corresponding response function generated on the opposite side of the boundary. Utilizing a specialized optical system equipped with a convex lens enables us to capture an image of the BH's holographic Einstein ring on the screen. The influence of the relevant physical parameters and the observed inclination on the characteristics of the Einstein ring can also be studied, which found that the alteration of the observer's position, the image displayed on the screen changes from an axisymmetric ring to an arc, ultimately becoming a solitary point of luminosity. Furthermore, variations in the relevant physical parameters naturally exert an influence on the Einstein ring, resulting in various changes to both its radius and brightness. We also discover the photon ring of the BH from the perspective of the geometric optics, and the numerical results demonstrate that the incident angle of the photon ring is consistent with that of the Einstein ring. It is found that the validity of studying the Einstein ring by wave optics. The investigation on the Einstein rings formed by the deformed AdS-Schwarzschild BHs is anticipated to yield more comprehensive insights into the spacetime geometry, enabling its distinction from Schwarzschild BH.

Abstract:We study the Einstein images of a charged Rastall AdS black hole (BH) within the fabric of AdS/CFT correspondence. Considering the holographic setup, we analyze the amplitude of the total response function for various values of model parameters. With an increase in parameter and temperature , the amplitude of the response function is decreased, while it is increased with the increase of the electric charge and chemical potential . The influence of frequency also plays an important role in the bulk field, as it is found that the decreasing leads to an increase in the periods of the waves, which means that the amplitude of the response function also depends on the wave source. The relation between to the inverse of the horizon for the parameter is interpreted under fixed values of other involved parameters. These, in turn, affect the behavior of the response function and the Einstein ring, which may be used to differentiate the present work from previous studies. Via a special optical system, we construct the holographic images of the BH in bulk. These results show that the Einstein ring always appears with concentric stripes at the position of the north pole, and this ring transforms into the luminosity-deformed ring or bright light spot when the distant observer lies away from the north pole. Finally, we finish this work with a discussion of the influence of the associated parameters on the Einstein ring radius, which is consistent with wave optics.

Holographic image features of an AdS black hole in Einstein-power-Yang-Mills gravity

Abstract:By utilizing the AdS/CFT correspondence, we investigate the holographic image of an AdS black hole in Einstein-power-Yang-Mills gravity. The AdS boundary hosts a Gaussian oscillation source, which induces a lensed response on the opposite side of the boundary during propagation through bulk spacetime. The optical system assists observers at the north pole to continuously capture holographic images that show an axisymmetric bright ring known as the Einstein ring. As the observation position shifted, the bright ring gradually transformed into a luminous arc and eventually transitioned into a light point. Simultaneously, we examine the impact of variations in relevant physical quantity on the ring, and present the corresponding brightness curve. The results indicate that as the temperature $T$ and nonlinear Yang Mills charge parameter $q$ increase, the ring radius also increases, while an increase in the chemical potential $u$ leads to a decrease. However, the peak brightness curve of the ring invariably decreases as the values of $T$, $u$, and $q$ increase, albeit to varying degrees. Upon comparing the outcomes of geometric optics, it can be observed that the position of the ring in holography images is consistent with that of the photon sphere.

Holographic Einstein rings of a black hole with a global monopole

Abstract:The global monopole solutions which give rise to quite unusual physical phenomena have captured considerable attention. In this paper, we study the Einstein ring of the spherically symmetric AdS black hole solution with a global monopole based on the AdS/CFT correspondence. With the help of the given response function of the QFT on the boundary, we construct the holographic images of the black hole in the bulk. The Einstein rings on the images can be clearly observed. The holographic ring always appears with the concentric stripe surrounded when the observer located at the north pole, and an extremely bright ring when the observer is at the position of the photon sphere of the black hole. With the change of the observation position, this ring will change into a luminosity-deformed ring, or light points. Furthermore, we show that the monopole parameter has an effect on the brightness and the position of Einstein ring. All these results imply that the holographic images can be used as an effective tool to distinguish different types of black holes for fixed wave source and optical system.

Abstract:By employing the AdS/CFT correspondence, we investigate the holographic images of Hayward-AdS black hole enveloped by quintessence dark energy. The AdS boundary is equipped with a Gaussian oscillation source, which give rise to the response generated on the opposing side of the boundary after it propagated in the bulk. With the aid of a special wave optics system, the holographic images of black hole in the bulk can be constructed. When the observation position is located at the north pole of boundary, the virtual screen displays a sequence of closed concentric ring structures. There is invariably one of these rings consistently marked by an exceptionally high level of observational intensity, namely the holographic Einstein ring, which corresponds to the position of photon ring in the geometric optics. For other observation positions, the ring transforms gradually into a luminous arc-like shape and ultimately into a light spot positioned on the screen. And, the effects of the relevant state parameters on the characteristics of black hole holographic image, including the observed intensity, width or size of the ring, and proportion range, are in-depth examined. It is believed that the critical information of the Hayward-AdS black hole surrounded by quintessence can be obtained from these holographic images, which will help us understand the geometric characteristics of regular spacetime more deeply.

Abstract:Based on the AdS/CFT correspondence, this study employs an oscillating Gaussian source to numerically study the holographic images of an AdS black hole under f ( R ) gravity using wave optics. Due to the diffraction of scalar wave, it turns out that one can clearly observed the interference patten of the absolute amplitude of response function on the AdS boundary. Furthermore, it is observed that its peak increases with the f ( R ) parameter α but decreases with the global monopole η , frequency ω , and horizon r h . More importantly, the results reveal that the holographic Einstein ring is a series of concentric striped patterns for an observer at the North Pole and that their center is analogous to a Poisson–Arago spot. This ring can evolve into a luminosity-deformed ring or two light spots when the observer is at a different position. According to geometrical optics, it is true that the size of the brightest holographic ring is approximately equal to that of the photon sphere, and the two light spots correspond to clockwise and anticlockwise light rays. In addition, holographic images for different values of black holes and optical system parameters were obtained, and different features emerged. Finally, we conclude that the holographic rings of the AdS black hole in modified gravities are more suitable and helpful for testing the existence of a gravity dual for a given material.

Gravitational entanglement witness through Einstein ring image

Abstract:We investigate the interplay between quantum theory and gravity by exploring gravitational lensing and Einstein ring images in a weak gravitational field induced by a mass source in spatial quantum superposition. We analyze a quantum massless scalar field propagating in two distinct models of gravity: the first quantized Newtonian gravity (QG) model, which generates quantum entanglement between the mass source and other systems, and the Schrödinger-Newton (SN) gravity model, which does not produce entanglement. Visualizing the two-point correlation function of the scalar field, we find that the QG model produces a composition of multiple Einstein rings, reflecting the spatial superposition of the mass source. By contrast, the SN model yields a single deformed ring image, representing a classical spacetime configuration. Furthermore, we introduce a specific quantity named the which-path information indicator and visualize its image. The QG model again reveals multiple Einstein rings, while the image intensity in the SN model notably vanishes. Our findings provide a visual approach to witness gravity-induced entanglement through distinct features in Einstein ring images. This study advances our understanding of quantum effects in general relativistic contexts and establishes a foundation for future studies of other relativistic phenomena.

Holographic images of a charged black hole in Lorentz symmetry breaking massive gravity

Abstract:Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, this paper investigates the holographic images of a charged black hole within the context of Lorentz symmetry breaking massive gravity. The photon rings, luminosity-deformed rings, or light points from various observational perspectives are obtained. We also study the influences of both the chemical potential and temperature on the Einstein ring. Unlike the previous work, which primarily examines the effect of chemical potential on ring radius at high temperatures and find no change in the radius with varying chemical potential, we also investigate the effect of chemical potential on the ring radius at low temperature besides at high temperature. Our findings indicate that at low temperatures, the photon ring radius decreases with increasing of chemical potential, while at high temperatures, the results are consistent with previous studies. Additionally, we explore the impact of the model parameter {\lambda} on the Einstein ring radius and find the the ring radius increases as the model parameter {\lambda} increases. More interestingly, for the large chemical potential, u = 1, the temperature dependence of the photon ring radius is reversed for {\lambda} = 2 and {\lambda} = 4. Conversely, for a small chemical potential u = 0.1, the temperature dependence of the Einstein ring stays the same as {\lambda} = 2 and {\lambda} = 4.

Spacetime-emergent ring toward tabletop quantum gravity experiments

Abstract:We propose a way to discover, in tabletop experiments, spacetime-emergent materials, that is, materials holographically dual to higher-dimensional quantum gravity systems under the AdS/CFT correspondence. The emergence of the holographic spacetime is verified by a mathematical imaging transform of the response function on the material. We consider theories on a 1-dimensional ring-shaped material, and compute the response to a scalar source locally put at a point on the ring. When the theory on the material has a gravity dual, the imaging in the low temperature phase exhibits a distinct difference from the ordinary materials: the spacetime-emergent material can look into the holographically emergent higher-dimensional curved spacetime and provides an image as if a wave had propagated there. Therefore the image is an experimental signature of the spacetime emergence. We also estimate temperature, ring size and source frequency usable in experiments, with an example of a quantum critical material, TlCuCl$_3$.

Holographic Descriptions of Black Rings

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the holographic descriptions of two kinds of black rings, the neutral doubly rotating black ring and the dipole charged black ring. For generic nonextremal black rings, the information of holographic CFT duals, including the central charges and left- and right-moving temperatures, could be read from the thermodynamics at the outer and inner horizons, as suggested in [20]. To confirm these pictures, we study the extreme black rings in the well-established formalism. We compute the central charges of dual CFTs by doing asymptotic symmetry group analysis in the stretched horizon formalism, and find exact agreements. Moreover, we study the superradiant scattering of a scalar field off the near-extremal black rings and obtain the scattering amplitudes, which are in good match with the CFT predictions.
