Abstract:The effect of polymer cross-linkages on thermal degradation of silica/poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) nanocomposites is investigated using a single novel nanoparticle. Nanosilica surface treated with KH570, an organic surface treatment capable of free-radical polymerisation, was used to cross-link PMMA via an in situ method. Scanning electron microscopy was used to characterise nanosilica before use, while X-ray diffraction confirmed silica was well dispersed in PMMA. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) results showed that thermal degradation of silica cross-linked nanocomposites was significantly stabilised compared to PMMA, with a 30% reduction in the peak mass loss rate. Kinetic studies revealed the degradation of nanocomposites in this work abide by first-order kinetics, with an increase in the degradation activation energy of approximately 100 kJ mol(-1). This is nearly double the improvement compared to conventional PMMA-silica nanocomposites in literature, showing dramatic enhancements to thermal stability. Analysis of high-temperature residuals from TGA tests suggest that cross-linked silica have increased char yields when compared with both PMMA and traditional silica nanocomposites. Cone Calorimetry results showed the materials in this work have reduced heat release rates compared to PMMA and traditional silica-PMMA nanocomposites.

Abstract:We describe a new multistep procedure for CT fluoroscopy-guided core biopsy, which allows confirmation of the biopsy-sampling trough and the final needle tip position prior to sampling. Twelve lesions measuring < or =2 cm or in close proximity to vital structures were biopsied using commercially available biopsy systems. Diagnostic biopsies were obtained in all cases. Mean fluoroscopy time was 11.1 +/- 2.8 s per biopsy. This technique may have the potential to improve the accuracy and safety of CT-guided biopsy.
The Dissociated Amorphous Silica Surface: Model Development and Evaluation.

Abstract:At pH 7, amorphous silica has a characteristic negative charge due to the deprotonation of silanol groups on the surface. Electrokinetic phenomena and transport of biomolecules in devices depend sensitively on the surface morphology, distribution of ions and solvent, and adsorption properties of solutes close to the surface in the electrical double layer region. Hence, simulation of these phenomena requires detailed atomistic models of the double layer region. In this Article, we extend our undissociated silica surface model [J. Phys. Chem. B 2007, 111, 11181-11193] to include dissociated Si-O(-) groups, which interact with both water and salt (Na(+) and Cl(-)). We have also conducted ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations of a smaller system consisting of a hydrated silica slab. The radial distribution functions predicted by the empirical model are in qualitative agreement with those from the AIMD simulations. The hydrophobic and hydrophilic nature of silanol-poor and silanol-rich regions of the amorphous silica surface observed in our empirical model is reproduced in the AIMD simulations of the smaller slab. In the initial stages of our AIMD simulations, we observe various chemical processes that represent different hydroxylation mechanisms of the surface.

Abstract:The purpose of this research is to further the understanding of the crystalline to amorphous phase transition (amorphization) that occurs when some crystalline drugs are dry blended with porous adsorbents. Indomethacin (IMC) and three grades of silica gel (SGs) were used in the study. Amorphization of crystalline IMC occurs rapidly during dry mixing with SG and was independent of mixing intensity and time. Extent of amorphization increases with lower ratios of IMC:SG and with decreased IMC and SG particle size. Blocking H-bonding silanol groups on SG by chemical modification reduced the extent of amorphization. IMC-SG mixtures showed improved dissolution rates over crystalline IMC, the improvement being directly related to the extent of amorphization. To preserve the improved dissolution rate, mixtures should be protected from moisture and heat. This approach holds promise as a mean of improving the dissolution rate of sparingly soluble drugs such as IMC.
Thermal Stability of Dispersions of Amino-Functionalized Silica in Glycol and in 50–50 Aqueous Glycol

Abstract:Dispersions of amino-functionalized silica in ethylene glycol (EG) and in aqueous glycol show excellent stability at room temperature. Stability at elevated temperatures would be much desired with respect to their potential application as heat-transfer fluids. Amino-functionalized silica was dispersed in EG and in 50–50 aqueous EG by mass. HCl and acetic acid were added to enhance the positive ζ potential. The dispersions were stored at 40, 60, 80, and 100 °C for up to 28 days, and ζ potential and apparent particle radius were studied as a function of elapsed time. The particles showed a positive ζ potential in excess of 40 mV (Smoluchowski), which remained unchanged for 28 days. Such a high absolute value of ζ potential is sufficient to stabilize the dispersion against flocculation and sedimentation. The apparent particle radius in acidified dispersions was about 70 nm, and it was stable for 28 days. The particles were larger in pH-neutral dispersions. The apparent particle radius was about 80 nm in fresh dispersions and it increased on long storage at 80 and 100 °C.

Abstract:Nanocrystal formulations of the BCS class II agomelatine, were developed by wet media milling. The most suitable stabilizer was identified and effects of process and formulation variables on the nanocrystal size and ζ-potential were evaluated employing a Box-Behnken experimental design. The optimized nanosuspensions were dried and subsequently evaluated for redispersibility and physicochemical properties. Computational simulation of solid state properties was applied to rationalize crystal fracture. It was found that low viscosity hydroxypropylcellulose with sodium dodecyl sulfate is the most suitable stabilizer. Stabilizer concentration exerts a statistically significant effect on particle size, which depends on the mill's rotation speed. The milling process induces a polymorphic transition to form II, which could affect size reduction kinetics. The solidified nanosuspensions' redispersibility is deteriorating progressively with storage time, with only minor differences between drying methods, retaining enhanced dissolution rate. Crystal lattice simulations suggest high mechanical anisotropy of form I crystals, which could be an additional reason for fast particle size reduction prior to the polymorphic transformation. Wet media milling, combined with a suitable drying method, can be an efficient technique for the production of stable nanocrystals of agomelatine. Particle informatics methods can enhance our understanding of the mechanisms responsible for agomelatine's nanocomminution.
Molecular Dynamics Simulation of the Aggregation Phenomenon in the Late Stages of Silica Materials Preparation

Abstract:Molecular dynamics simulations are employed to investigate the aggregation behavior at the late stages of silica production in a colloidal solution to find new insights into the structures and dynamics of the produced aggregates and pores. The implemented theoretical investigations used the Amorphous cell and Forcite modules, and Dreiding force field of Materials Studio package. The key thermodynamic parameters, mean squared displacements, and radial distribution functions were calculated. Results revealed that aggregation occurred in the late stages due to the negative value of Gibbs free energy. Diameters of the generated "aggregates and pores" continuously increased while the number of "aggregates and pores" first increased and then decreased. Furthermore, the volume of pores first rose and then fell as the reaction proceeded. Variations of reactant numbers had the noticeable influence on the pores and aggregates topologies. The number of aggregates and pores had an upward trend while their diameters slightly reduced when more effective molecules were involved in the aggregation process. In addition, the shape of the aggregates examined and found that the predominant shapes of the aggregates were spherical. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Abstract:Recent studies have demonstrated that molecular mobility is an important factor affecting the chemical stability of amorphous pharmaceuticals, including small-molecular-weight drugs, peptides and proteins. However, quantitative correlations between molecular mobility and chemical stability have not yet been elucidated. The purpose of this article is to review literature describing the effect of molecular mobility on chemical stability during storage of amorphous pharmaceuticals, and to seek a better understanding of the relative significance of molecular mobility and other factors for chemical reactivity. We first consider the feature of chemical stability often observed for amorphous pharmaceuticals; changes in temperature dependence of chemical stability around matrix glass transition temperature (Tg), and greater stability associated with higher Tg. Secondly, we review papers which quantitatively studied the effects of the global mobility (often referred to as structural relaxation or -relaxation) of amorphous pharmaceuticals on chemical stability, and discuss correlations between chemical stability and global mobility using various equations that have thus far been proposed. Thirdly, the significance of local mobility of drug and excipient molecules in chemical reactivity is discussed in comparison with that of global mobility. Furthermore, we review literature reports which show no relationship between chemical stability and molecular mobility. The lack of apparent relationship is discussed in terms of the effects of the contribution of excipient molecules as reactants, the specific effects of water molecules, the heterogeneity of the matrix, and so on. The following summary has been obtained; the chemical stability of amorphous pharmaceuticals is affected by global mobility and/or local mobility, depending on the length scale of molecular mobility responsible for the chemical reactivity. In some cases, when activation energy for degradation processes is high and when other factors such as the specific effects of water and/or excipients contribute the degradation rate, stability seems to be largely independent of molecular mobility.

Abstract:Amorphous solid dispersions enhance the dissolution and oral bioavailability of poorly water-soluble drugs. However, the link between polymer properties and formulation performance has not been fully clarified yet. We studied the effect of hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) polymers molecular weight ( M w ) on the storage stability, dissolution kinetics and supersaturation stability of spray-dried amorphous glibenclamide (GLB) formulations. The solid-state stability of amorphous GLB during storage was significantly enhanced by both the 40 kDa (HPC-SSL) and 84 kDa (HPC-L) polymers, regardless of M w differences. In contrast, HPC-SSL maintained significantly higher aqueous drug concentrations during dissolution, compared to HPC-L (its higher M w analogue). Dedicated dissolution experiments, in situ optical microscopy and solid-state characterization revealed that aqueous drug concentrations were determined by the interplay between crystallization inhibition, drug ionization, wetting and solubilization effects: (1) HPC prevents surface nucleation, hence inhibiting crystallization, (2) intestinal colloids (bile salts and phospholipids) increase supersaturated drug concentrations via wetting and solubilization effects and (3) pH and drug ionization severely impact the degree of supersaturation. The better performance of the lower M w HPC-SSL was due to its superior inhibition of surface crystallization during dissolution. These insights into the molecular mechanisms of dissolution and crystallization of amorphous solids provide foundation for rational formulation development.

Abstract:Gliclazide (GLI), a poorly water-soluble antidiabetic, was transformed into a glassy state by melt quench technique in order to improve its physicochemical properties. Chemical stability of GLI during formation of glass was assessed by monitoring thin-layer chromatography, and an existence of amorphous form was confirmed by differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray powder diffractometry. The glass transition occurred at 67.5°C. The amorphous material thus generated was examined for its in vitro dissolution performance in phosphate buffer (pH 6.8). Surprisingly, amorphous GLI did not perform well and was unable to improve the dissolution characteristics compared to pure drug over entire period of dissolution studies. These unexpected results might be due to the formation of a cohesive supercooled liquid state and structural relaxation of amorphous form toward the supercooled liquid region which indicated functional inability of amorphous GLI from stability point of view. Hence, stabilization of amorphous GLI was attempted by elevation of Tg via formation of solid dispersion systems involving comprehensive antiplasticizing as well as surface adsorption mechanisms. The binary and ternary amorphous dispersions prepared with polyvinylpyrrolidone K30 (as antiplasticizer for elevation of Tg) and Aerosil 200® and/or Sylysia® 350 (as adsorbent) in the ratio of 1:1:1 (w/w) using kneading and spray-drying techniques demonstrated significant enhancement in rate and extent of dissolution of drug initially. During accelerated stability studies, ternary systems showed no significant reduction in drug dissolution performance over a period of 3 months indicating excellent stabilization of amorphous GLI.

Long-Term Physical (In)Stability of Spray-Dried Amorphous Drugs: Relationship with Glass-Forming Ability and Physicochemical Properties

Abstract:This study shows the importance of the chosen method for assessing the glass-forming ability (GFA) and glass stability (GS) of a drug compound. Traditionally, GFA and GS are established using in situ melt-quenching in a differential scanning calorimeter. In this study, we included 26 structurally diverse glass-forming drugs (i) to compare the GFA class when the model drugs were produced by spray-drying with that when melt-quenching was used, (ii) to investigate the long-term physical stability of the resulting amorphous solids, and (iii) to investigate the relationship between physicochemical properties and the GFA of spray-dried solids and their long-term physical stability. The spray-dried solids were exposed to dry (<5% RH) and humid (75% RH) conditions for six months at 25 °C. The crystallization of the spray-dried solids under these conditions was monitored using a combination of solid-state characterization techniques including differential scanning calorimetry, Raman spectroscopy, and powder X-ray diffraction. The GFA/GS class assignment for 85% of the model compounds was method-dependent, with significant differences between spray-drying and melt-quenching methods. The long-term physical stability under dry condition of the compounds was predictable from GFA/GS classification and glass transition and crystallization temperatures. However, the stability upon storage at 75% RH could not be predicted from the same data. There was no strong correlation between the physicochemical properties explored and the GFA class or long-term physical stability. However, there was a slight tendency for compounds with a relatively larger molecular weight, higher glass transition temperature, higher crystallization temperature, higher melting point and higher reduced glass transition temperature to have better GFA and better physical stability. In contrast, a high heat of fusion and entropy of fusion seemed to have a negative impact on the GFA and physical stability of our dataset.

Thermodynamic study of colorimetric transitions in polydiacetylene vesicles induced by the solvent effect.

Abstract:We report the synthesis of 10,12-pentacosadyinoic acid (PCDA) and PCDA + cholesterol (CHO) + sphingomyelin (SPH) vesicles dispersed in water and the determination of their colorimetric response induced by small amount of organic solvents. In the absence of solvent, PCDA and PCDA/CHO/SPH vesicles showed an intense blue color. The addition of CHCl(3), CH(2)Cl(2), and CCl(4) caused a colorimetric transition (CT) in both structures with the following efficiency: CHCl(3) > CH(2)Cl(2) ≅ CCl(4). However, CH(3)OH did not cause a blue-to-red transition. By microcalorimetric technique we also determined, for the first time, the enthalpy change associated with the CT process and the energy of interaction between solvent molecules and vesicle self-assembly. We observed that the chloride solvents induced a colorimetric transition, but the thermodynamic mechanism was different for each of them. CT induced by CHCl(3) was enthalpically driven, while that caused by CH(2)Cl(2) or CCl(4) was entropically driven.
Effect of Drug Loading in Mesoporous Silica on Amorphous Stability and Performance

Abstract:The encapsulation of drugs within mesoporous silica (MS) has for several years been a subject of research. Previous studies proposed that drug loadings up to the monomolecular loading capacity (MLC) are the optimal choice for maintaining the drug in an amorphous form, whereas filling the pores above the monolayer and up to the pore filling capacity (PFC) may introduce some physical instabilities. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of drug loading in MS-based amorphous formulations on the stability of the amorphous form of the drug as well as the dissolution. In particular, the following drug loadings were investigated: below MLC, at MLC, between MLC and PFC and at PFC. The drug-loaded MS formulations were analyzed directly after preparation and after 18 months of storage under accelerated conditions (40 °C in both dry and humid conditions). The MLC and PFC for the drug celecoxib (CEL) on the MS ParteckSLC500 (SLC) were determined at 33.5 wt.% and 48.4 wt.%, respectively. This study found that SLC can effectively preserve the amorphous form of the drug for 18 months, provided that the loading is below the PFC (<48.4 wt.%) and no humidity is present. On the other hand, drug loading at the PFC showed recrystallization even when stored under dry conditions. Under humid conditions, however, all samples, regardless of drug loading, showed recrystallization upon storage. In terms of dissolution, all freshly prepared formulations showed supersaturation. For drug loadings below PFC, a degree of supersaturation (DS) around 15 was measured before precipitation was observed. For drug loadings at PFC, the DS was found to be lower and only 6-times compared to the crystalline solubility. Lastly, for those samples that remained amorphous during storage for 18 months, the release profiles were found to be the same as the freshly loaded samples, with similar Cmax, Tmax and dissolution rate.

Abstract:Poly(ethylene glycol) dimethyl ether (PEGDME) polymers are widely used as drug solid dispersion reagents. They can cause the amorphization of drugs and improve their solubility, stability, and bioavailability. However, the mechanism about why amorphous PEGDME 2000 polymer is highly stable is unclear so far. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation is a unique key technique to solve it. In the current work, we systematically investigate structure, aggregate state, and thermodynamic and kinetic behaviors during the phase-transition processes of the PEGDME polymers with different polymerization degree in terms of MD simulations. The melting and glass-transition temperatures of the polymers are in good agreement with experimental values. The amorphous PEGDME2000 exhibits high stability, which is consistent with the recent experiment results and can be ascribed to a combination of two factors, that is, a high thermodynamic driving force for amorphization and a relatively low molecular mobility.
Dipolar Reorientations in Amorphous Nimesulide: A TSDC and DSC Study

Abstract:Background: The preparation of APIs in the amorphous solid form can be a means of circumventing problems arising from poor solubility and low dissolution rate of the crystalline drugs. However, molecular mobility can be responsible for the glass instability, so that the kinetic characterization of the different relaxations that subsist in the amorphous solid is useful to allow define the conditions for greater stability of the glassy pharmaceutical. Our purpose is to use the experimental techniques of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermally stimulated depolarization currents (TSDC) to study the thermal behavior of the pharmaceutical drug nimesulide and its slow molecular mobility in the amorphous solid state. Methods: DSC provides us a general view of the thermal behaviour of nimesulide and allows a general kinetic characterization of its glass transition relaxation. TSDC allows isolating the individual modes of motion present in nimesulide (in the temperature range between -150ºC and +15ºC). From the experimental output of the TSDC experiments, the kinetic parameters associated with the different mobility modes of motion were obtained, which allowed a detailed characterisation of the distribution of relaxation times of the complex relaxations. Results: No molecular mobility was detected below ∼ -30ºC. A sub-Tg relaxation, or secondary process, was found by TSDC in the temperature region between ∼ -15ºC and ∼ +7ºC; this is a local mobility that is affected by physical aging, and was attributed to a slow β-relaxation (Johari-Goldstein). The analysis by DSC and TSDC of the α-relaxation showed that nimesulide is a moderately fragile glass former. The dynamic fragility obtained by DSC was mDSC = 52 while that obtained by TSDC was mTSDC = 70. Conclusions: From the DSC study of the thermal behaviour we concluded that nimesulide has a moderate glass forming ability and a week glass stability. The fact that the cold crystallization occurs only some few tens of degrees above the glass transition temperature, and shows a slow kinetics, allowed the study of the mobility by TSDC. TSDC thus proved to be an adequate technique to study the molecular mobility in the amorphous nimesulide. However, the study by spectroscopic dielectric relaxation is probably impossible under these conditions.
Drying-induced variations in physico-chemical properties of amorphous pharmaceuticals and their impact on stability (I): stability of a monoclonal antibody

Abstract:The present study was conducted to investigate the impact of drying method and formulation on the storage stability of IgG1. Formulations of IgG1 with varying levels of sucrose with and without surfactant were dried by different methods, namely freeze drying, spray drying, and foam drying. Dried powders were characterized by thermal analysis, scanning electron microscopy, specific surface area (SSA) analysis, electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA), solid state FTIR, and molecular mobility measurements by both isothermal calorimetry and incoherent elastic neutron scattering. Dried formulations were subjected to storage stability studies at 40 degrees C and 50 degrees C (aggregate levels were measured by size exclusion chromatography initially and at different time points). Both drying method and formulation had a significant impact on the properties of IgG1 powders, including storage stability. Among the drying methods, SSA was highest and perturbations in secondary structure were lowest with the spray-dried preparations. Sucrose-rich foams had the lowest SSA and the lowest protein surface accumulation. Also, sucrose-rich foams had the lowest molecular mobility (both fast dynamics and global motions). Stability studies showed a log-linear dependence of physical stability on composition. Preparations manufactured by "Foam Drying" were the most stable, regardless of the stabilizer level. In protein-rich formulations, freeze-dried powders showed the poorest storage stability and the stability differences were correlated to differences in secondary structure. In stabilizer-rich formulations, stability differences were best correlated to differences in molecular mobility (fast dynamics) and total protein surface accumulation.

Abstract:Aims/Purpose: Over the past decades, polymeric particles have become widespread in the field of drug delivery. Silica microparticles (SiMPs) are biodegradable—silicic acid being the main degradation product—and can release medication sustainably for a long period of time. Our aim was to determine the effects of soluble silicic acid on in vitro models of human epithelial cells. Methods: HCE‐2 and ARPE‐19 cells were exposed to serial dilutions of silicic acid produced by dissolving silica hydrogel in PBS, and cell viability was assessed after 24, 48 and 72 h of incubation. Cell viability data were provided by AlamarBlue assay, while membrane integrity was analysed through LDH release. For more information on the silicic acid impact on cellular stress, we assayed biochemical markers, such as IL‐6, IL‐8, MCP‐1, Caspase‐3 and Hsp‐70, using specific ELISAs. Results: AlamarBlue assay did not show any statistical differences in survival rate between the control group and maximum 30 μg/mL silicic acid in all timepoints in ARPE‐19 cells (24 h 95.42 ± 4.81%, 48 h 87.55 ± 6.48% and 72 h 97.64 ± 6.38%) and HCE‐2 cells (24 h 97.38 ± 5.97%, 48 h 100.81 ± 8.32% and 72 h 101.73 ± 2.62%). Additionally, we did not detect any toxic changes in LDH release test in ARPE‐19 cells in 24, 48 and 72 h time points (30 μg/mL silicic acid: 24 h 9.0 ± 11.5%, 48 h 10.4 ± 13.4% and 72 h 13.8 ± 16.6%). The LDH release data in treated (max. 30 μg/mL) HCE‐2 cells were comparable to control cells. Assessed inflammatory markers mostly were similar as well when comparing control and treatment groups, although IL‐6, MCP‐1, Caspase‐3 and Hsp‐70 showed increased values with time. Conclusions: Our results do not show major cytotoxicity of silicic acid on the two different epithelial cell lines, nor did not induce stress or inflammatory markers. Therefore, these findings support the use of our novel SiMPs as drug delivery vehicles in the treatment of ophthalmic diseases.

Dry amorphisation of mangiferin, a poorly water-soluble compound, using mesoporous silica

Abstract:Mangiferin, a poorly water soluble compound, was processed via a dry amorphisation technique (ball milling) in combination with mesoporous silica to enhance the solubility of mangiferin. The amorphous samples were prepared by mixing 1:1 (w/w) Syloid® XDP 3050 silica-mangiferin mixtures using a planetary mono mill at different milling speeds and milling times according to a 32 full factorial experimental design. The prepared samples were characterized for dissolution profile, particle size distribution using laser diffraction particle size analyzer, thermal characteristics using DSC, crystalline characteristics using XRD and molecular interactions using FTIR and ss-NMR. The samples were tested for stability at stress conditions (40 °C/75%RH) for up to 6 months in open and closed containers. To improve stability of the samples, mixtures of 1:1:2 mangiferin-polymer (Soluplus or HPMC)-silica samples were also prepared and analyzed. Amorphisation of mangiferin is possible using dry amorphisation by ball milling with mesoporous silica in a short amount of time. The amorphisation rate of the samples improved with the energy input of the milling process. The samples prepared with high energy input resulted in amorphous samples and showed a better stability at the stress conditions for up to 3 months. Solubility of these samples increased from 0.32 to 0.50 mg/ml and the particle size decreased from 35.5 µm to around 7 µm. The spectral analysis suggest presence of interactions between the silica material and the compound. The amorphous stability was improved with addition of polymer, even though the solubility of the samples was lower.

Abstract:This article describes the process from inception to successful operation of a case management model of a community-based multiple sclerosis clinic. The article includes information regarding the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and clinical manifestations of multiple sclerosis. The assessment, planning, and intervention stages of the process are explained, and a case study of one clinic patient is provided.
Amorphous stabilization of BCS II drugs using mesoporous silica

Abstract:This study aimed to investigate the amorphous stabilization of BCS Class II drugs using mesoporous silica as a carrier to produce amorphous solid dispersions. Ibuprofen, fenofibrate, and budesonide were selected as model drugs to evaluate the impact of molecular weight and partition coefficient on the solid state of drug-loaded mesoporous silica (MS) particles. The model drugs were loaded into three grades of MS, SYLYSIA SY730, SYLYSIA SY430, and SYLYSIA SY350, with pore diameters of 2.5 nm, 17 nm, and 21 nm, respectively, at 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1, carrier to drug ratios, and three different loading concentrations using solvent immersion and spray drying techniques. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) thermograms of SY430 and SY350 samples exhibited melting point depressions indicating constricted crystallization inside the pores, whereas SY730 samples with melting points matching the pure API may be a result of surface crystallization. Powder x-ray diffraction (PXRD) diffractograms showed all crystalline samples matched the diffraction patterns of the pure API indicating no polymorphic transitions and all 3:1 ratio samples exhibited amorphous halo profiles. Response surface regression analysis and Classification and Regression Tree (CART) analysis suggest carrier to drug ratios, followed by molecular weight, have the most significant impact on the crystallinity of a drug loaded into MS particles.
