Abstract:Cut an acetate ester out of a Hantzsch ester. With a 4-electron electrochemical reduction, the Hantzsch-ester-derived pyridine was converted to a polysubstituted pyrrole in one step by dearomatization, ring-contraction, and rearomatization process.
