Abstract:Owing to their large specific surface, favorable electrical conductivity, and excellent electrocatalytic capabilities, two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides have received considerable attention in the field of biosensors. On the basis of these properties, we developed a portable and disposable enzyme-based biosensor for paraoxon detection using a metallic MoS2 nanosheets modified screen-printed electrode (SPE). The exfoliated ultrathin metallic MoS2 nanosheets can accelerate the electron transfer on electrode surface and contribute to the immobilization of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) via the cross-linking of glutaraldehyde. Electrodeposited gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) on SPE were used to immobilize MoS2 nanosheets through the interaction between Au atoms on AuNPs and S atoms on MoS2. Using acetylcholine as the substrate, AChE can catalyze the formation of electroactive thiocholine and further generate the redox current. In the presence of paraoxon, the activity of AChE can be inhibited, making the related electrochemical signals weaken. Under the optimized conditions, this electrochemical biosensor exhibited a favorable linear relationship with the concentration of paraoxon from 1.0 to 1000 μg L-1, with the detection limit of 0.013 μg L-1. Furthermore, this developed biosensor was successfully applied to detect paraoxon in pretreated apple and pakchoi samples, which can provide a reliable method for the rapid analysis of organophosphorus pesticides in agricultural products.

Abstract:The preparation and application of biomass-derived porous carbon (BPC) have aroused intensive attentions due to the advantages of eco-friendliness, abundant resources, and low cost. Herein banyan leaves derived BPC was prepared by calcination technique with rich three-dimensional interconnected frameworks. Furthermore, Au nanoflakes (AuNFs) were decorated on BPC by hydrothermal method to obtain AuNFs-BPC nanocomposite. The morphology, structure and composition of AuNFs-BPC were characterized by SEM, XRD, Raman and XPS techniques. AuNFs-BPC was modified on glassy carbon electrode to construct a functional sensing platform for the investigation on electrochemical behaviors of luteolin. Obvious enhanced electrochemical signals of luteolin could be observed, which was bigger than that on bare electrode. The electrode reaction mechanism was studied with the electron transfer coefficient and standard heterogeneous reaction rate constant calculated as 0.51 and 1.99 s−1. Consequently, an AuNFs-BPC modified electrode based voltammetric sensor for luteolin determination was constructed with a low detection limit of 0.07 μmol/L (3S0/S). This novel sensing platform displays great potential for practical and reliable determination of luteolin in Duyiwei capsules and human urine samples.

Abstract:This study reports a scalable green electrochemical synthesis of novel biogenic silver nanoparticles colloid (biogenic AgNPs) in large scale up to 5 liters using the bulk silver bar and the green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis) extract (GTE) as reducing agent during the electrochemical process. Under a direct-current voltage source, the biomolecules in GTE can release electrons to promote the reducing process of Ag+ to Ag0. More interestingly, the formation of the intermediate complex helps to cap on the nanoparticles, which leads to stabilizing AgNPs. The as-synthesized biogenic AgNPs with the size of 34 nm exhibit the outstanding electrochemical properties due to the presence of biomolecules on the biogenic AgNPs surface, which facilitates the effective attaching of AgNPs on the carbon surface of the screen-printed carbon electrode (SPE) through the formation of the strong C-O coordinate bonds between O atom of oxygen functional groups and C atom of SPE. The electrochemical properties of the biogenic AgNPs-modified SPE are enhanced significantly in comparison with bare SPE and pure AgNPs-SPE. The biogenic AgNPs-SPE is applied successfully to the detection of 4-nitrophenol (4-NP). The electrochemical sensor using biogenic AgNPs can reliably detect 4-NP in the linear range from 0.1 to 25 μM with the sensitivity about 6.69 μA μM-1 cm-2. The present work reveals, as the greener synthesis method with ultra-large scalable ability, high purity, and excellent electrochemical properties of biogenic AgNPs is very promising for technological applications in high-sensitive electrochemical chemosensors, nanopharmaceuticals, and other fields.

Abstract:Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized via a biosynthetic method involving Zingiber montanum ( Z . montanum ) flower extracts. Various concentrations of silver nitrate (AgNO 3 ) ranging from 2 to 4 mM were tested to determine the optimum concentration for AgNP production. The formation of AgNPs was visually confirmed by observing the colour of the solution, which changed from light brown to dark brown. The tests performed included UV‒Visible spectroscopy (UV‒Vis), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), zeta potential analyses, X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), thermogravimetric analyses (TGA), and cyclic voltammetry. The UV‒Vis spectrum showed absorption peaks at 445, 442, and 447 nm. The FTIR spectrum showed that the constitutive functional groups were good reducing agents. A TEM analysis of the AgNPs revealed that they were spherical. The zeta potentials of the AgNPs were − 31.6, − 30.4, and − 32.3 mV. XRD revealed the face-centred cubic (FCC) crystal structure for the AgNPs. EDS showed that the elemental composition of the AgNPs peaked at 3 keV, with the weight percentages of Ag of 16.62, 54.46, and 17.15% at 2, 3, and 4 mM, respectively. TGA showed good thermal stability upon heating, with final weights of 49.03, 51.18, and 63.05%. In addition, compared with that of the unmodified electrode, the conductivity of the modified electrode was higher at 100 mV. Moreover, the modified electrodes showed results proportional to the scan rates of 50, 100, 200, and 400 mV/s.

Morphological Effects of Au Nanoparticles on Electrochemical Sensing Platforms for Nitrite Detection

Abstract:Au nanoparticles were synthesized in a soft template of pseudo-polyanions composed of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) by the in situ reduction of chloroauric acid (HAuCl4) with PVP. The particle sizes and morphologies of the Au nanoparticles were regulated with concentrations of PVP or SDS at room temperature. Distinguished from the Au nanoparticles with various shapes, Au nanoflowers (AuNFs) with rich protrusion on the surface were obtained at the low final concentration of SDS and PVP. The typical AuNF synthesized in the PVP (50 g·L−1)–SDS (5 mmol·L−1)–HAuCl4 (0.25 mmol·L−1) solution exhibited a face-centered cubic structure dominated by a {111} crystal plane with an average equivalent particle size of 197 nm and an average protrusion height of 19 nm. Au nanoparticles with four different shapes, nanodendritic, nanoflower, 2D nanoflower, and nanoplate, were synthesized and used to modify the bare glassy carbon electrode (GCE) to obtain Au/GCEs, which were assigned as AuND/GCE, AuNF/GCE, 2D-AuNF/GCE, and AuNP/GCE, respectively. Electrochemical sensing platforms for nitrite detection were constructed by these Au/GCEs, which presented different detection sensitivity for nitrites. The results of cyclic voltammetry (CV) demonstrated that the AuNF/GCE exhibited the best detection sensitivity for nitrites, and the surface area of the AuNF/GCE was 1.838 times of the bare GCE, providing a linear c(NO2−) detection range of 0.01–5.00 μmol·L−1 with a limit of detection of 0.01 μmol·L−1. In addition, the AuNF/GCE exhibited good reproducibility, stability, and high anti-interference, providing potential for application in electrochemical sensing platforms.

Abstract:In this work, we report the coupling of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) enabled by surface-coated acupuncture needles with nano-electrospray mass spectrometry (nanoESI-MS) for the analysis of bioactive molecules in living plants. The needle tip was oxidized by a mixture of nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide solution and then subject to surface coating via carbonization of paraffin. A combination of oxidation and surface coating resulted in a thin coating of carbon film, whereby the significantly increased surface area promoted both analyte enrichment and ionization for MS analysis. The analytical performances were evaluated through the characterization of small molecules, peptides and proteins. Compared with conventional nanoESI, our new strategy of employing surface-coated needles had a high salt tolerance. The streamlined experimental workflow could be completed within one minute. The linear dynamic ranges for L-histidine and L-lysine, as two representatives, were over two orders of magnitude with a limit of detection (LOD) of 3.0~5.0 ng/mL. A mark is made on the needle at 2 mm from the tip, the needle is then kept in the sample for 30 s. In vivo sampling and identification of α-tomatine and organic acids from the stem of a living tomato plant were demonstrated as a practical application, while the physiological activities of the plant were not disrupted due to the minimally invasive sampling. We anticipate that the developed strategy may be of potential use for real-time clinical and other on-site analyses.

Response Surface and Multiobjective Optimization Methodology for the Design of Compliant Interconnects

Abstract:Compliant off-chip interconnects have both in-plane and out-of-plane compliance and are able to accommodate the differential deflection between the die and the substrate or between the substrate and the board, and thus can enhance overall reliability and life of a microelectronic system. A TriDelta compliant interconnect is being pursued at Georgia Tech as an alternate die-to-substrate or substrate-to-board interconnect. It is found that any geometry improvement that enhances the mechanical compliance will also adversely affect the electrical performance. Thus, the design of a compliant interconnect is a tradeoff between the mechanical and electrical performances. In this paper, we examine eight design variables to balance mechanical and electrical performance metrics of a TriDelta interconnect. These design variables are appropriately reduced to four and normalized. The method of normalization not only reduces the number of the design variables but also makes the response surfaces scalable with footprint size. The response surfaces are constructed for electrical resistance, inductance, and the von Mises strains using the central composite inscribed design points. The method of global criterion is used to scalarize this multiobjective optimization problem, and an optimization has been done using specified design and processing constraints as well as the ranges of the design variables. Based on the optimization results, it is seen that the TriDelta compliant interconnect geometry can be designed to meet all of the electrical, mechanical, and fabrication requirements. The developed methodology is applicable to a wide range of other compliant interconnects beyond what is presented in this paper.
Fabrication of Multifunctional SERS Platform Based on Ag NPs Self-Assembly Ag-AAO Nanoarray for Direct Determination of Pesticide Residues and Baicalein in Real Samples

Abstract:Aiming at the shortcomings of high cost and time-consumption in traditional liquid chromatography, an effective surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-based trace detection method has been proposed to quantitatively identify the active component of traditional Chinese medicine. In this paper, a high-performance and versatile SERS platform based on Ag nanoparticles (NPs) self-assembly Ag-anodized aluminium (Ag NPs-Ag-AAO) nanoarray was fabricated by controllable physico-chemical preparation technology. The results indicated that the electromagnetic field enhancement effect was sharply strengthened as Ag NPs assembled, and the experimental enhancement factor (EEF) value was calculated to be 1.0083 × 106. This novel Ag NPs-Ag-AAO nanoarray with substantial “hot spots” exhibited high SERS signal reproducibility, with the relative standard deviation (RSD) value at less than 2.23%. More importantly, this SERS platform was applied to detect active component Baicalein in Scutellaria baicalensis, and the limit of detection (LOD) was located at 10 fg/mL. Therefore, this Ag NPs-Ag-AAO nanoarray with high sensitivity, strong Raman signal reproducibility and reliable practicability has broad application prospects in the rapid detection of trace substances in the active components of traditional Chinese medicine and is expected to be popularized.

Abstract:Carbon-based nanoprobes, with excellent physicochemical performance and biocompatibility, are a kind of ideal nanomaterial for biosensing. Herein, we designed and prepared novel oxygen-doped nitrogen-enrichment carbon nanoribbons (ONCNs) with an excellent optical performance and uniform morphology, which could be used as a dual-mode fluorescence probe for the detection of Ag+ ion and captopril (Ctl) based on the synergism of photo-induced electron transfer and aggregation-induced quenching mechanisms. By recording the changes in fluorescent intensities of ONCNs, the Ag+ ion and Ctl concentrations can be easily tested in real samples. The results displayed that two good linear relationships existed between the change in fluorescent intensity of ONCNs and the concentrations of Ag+ ion and Ctl in the ranges of 3 μM to 30 μM and 1 μM to 30 μM, with the detection limit of 0.78 μM and 74 nM, respectively. The proposed sensing platform has also been successfully applied for the Ctl analysis in commercial tablet samples based on its high selectivity, proving its value in practical applications.

Clinacanthus nutans crude polysaccharide extract as a green platform for microwave-assisted synthesis of silver nanoparticles: Optimization, characterization, and evaluation of bioactivities

Abstract:Clinacanthus nutans (C. nutans) is a plant in tropical Asia with proven biological activities. The optimized extraction method of C. nutans crude polysaccharide (CNP) uses water in the presence of an ultrasound-assisted mechanical method (UL_CNP). However, the use of UL_CNP for the synthesis and optimization of silver nanoparticles (AgNP), particularly their anticancer and photocatalytic properties, remains unexplored. Hence, this research aimed to employ a green method using UL_CNP and silver nitrate to produce AgNP (UL_AgNP) with a small size and assess its potential toxicity, anticancer, and photocatalytic activities. The synthesis condition was optimized using the Box-Behnken design method. The synthesized UL_AgNP showed the surface plasmon resonance peak at 458 nm. The optimized synthesis condition produced spherically shaped UL_AgNP with a size of 5.21 ± 1.92 nm and a zeta potential of -26.33 ± 0.93 mV. An X-ray diffraction analysis exhibited intense Bragg's reflection peaks at (111), (200), (220), and (311), having a face-centered cubic structure of AgNP. Attenuated total reflectance-Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy further confirmed the presence of silver in the synthesized UL_AgNP. The brine shrimp lethality test of UL_AgNP reported a lethal concentration 50 value of <7.8 μg/mL after 24 h. The UL_AgNP exhibited antiproliferative activity against MCF-7 cells with a half-maximal inhibitory concentration value of 4.96 ± 0.31 μg/mL by inducing S-phase cell cycle arrest, apoptotic effect, and reduction of cell migration. Furthermore, UL_AgNP proved its efficient photocatalytic activity against methylene blue dye (50.22 % ± 0.06 %, after 10 min at a concentration of 50 μg/mL). Therefore, the UL_AgNP exhibited promising antiproliferative activity against MCF-7 cells, highlighting their potential as a therapeutic agent. Further investigations are needed to elucidate the precise mechanism of their action.
High-Throughput Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering for Screening Chemical Sensor Candidates Enabled by Bipolar Electrochemistry

Abstract:A variety of hydrothermal or electrochemical methods have been explored to prepare noble metal nanostructures as surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates. However, most of those metallic nanoarrays are structurally homogeneous, which makes it laborious to select the high-performance substrates for particular Raman sensing purposes. Here, a high-throughput SERS imaging strategy is demonstrated for the first time for screening chemical sensors with sub-nanomolar sensitivities. Bipolar electrochemistry was applied to generate Au or Au-Ag gradient nanoarrays with diverse chemical compositions, morphologies, and particle dimensions ranging from several nanometers to micrometers. The selected "hot-spots" on the Au-Ag alloy nanoarray exhibited a 660-fold enhancement in SERS intensity compared to those on the pure Au gradient nanoarray. The SERS screening of 4-aminothiophenol, 4-nitrothiophenol, and 4-mercaptobenzoic acid was carried out that provided a limit of detection (LOD) between 1 and 5 pM. The distinctive LODs among three thiophenolic Raman probes are ascribed to the differences in the affinity of the probe to the alloy, orientation of the metal-ligand monolayer, or plasmonic environment of the nanoarray surface. As a continuous, rapid, and cost-effective manner to fabricate transitional nanostructures and screen out SERS responsive sites, this method not only facilitates controllable synthesis of noble metal nanoarrays but has the potential to provide an alternative tool for ultrasensitive chemical sensing on a wide range of bimetallic substrates.

Abstract:In this work, UiO-66-NH2/GO nanocomposite was prepared using a simple solvothermal technique, and its structure and morphology were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). An enhanced electrochemical sensor for the detection of epirubicin (EP) was proposed, which utilized a UiO-66-NH2/GO nanocomposite-modified screen-printed graphite electrode (UiO-66-NH2/GO/SPGE). The prepared UiO-66-NH2/GO nanocomposite improved the electrochemical performance of the SPGE towards the redox reaction of EP. Under optimized experimental conditions, this sensor demonstrates a remarkable limit of detection (LOD) of 0.003 μM and a linear dynamic range from 0.008 to 200.0 μM, providing a highly capable platform for sensing EP. Furthermore, the simultaneous electro-catalytic oxidation of EP and topotecan (TP) was investigated at the UiO-66-NH2/GO/SPGE surface utilizing differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). DPV measurements revealed the presence of two distinct oxidation peaks of EP and TP, with a peak potential separation of 200 mV. Finally, the UiO-66-NH2/GO/SPGE sensor was successfully utilized for the quantitative analysis of EP and TP in pharmaceutical injection, yielding highly satisfactory results.

Abstract:In this work, a glassy carbon electrode modified with graphene and Au nanoparticles (GCE-graphene-EAu) was employed to electrochemically study paclitaxel which belonged to anticancer drug. Graphene and Au NPs were successfully electrodeposited on the surface of glassy carbon electrode in order to enhance the conductivity of electrode. An irreversible oxidation process was observed in the pH range of 3 to 10, which was diffusion-controlled. A linear relationship was observed between the anodic peak current and the concentration of paclitaxel ranging from 0.01 to 2 mM, where the limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) were 0.005 and 0.004 mM, respectively. The designed approach was demonstrated to be efficient in the determination of paclitaxel in Chinese herb Taxus chinensis.

Abstract:In this study, a highly sensitive electrochemical sensor for the detection of bisphenol A (BPA) was developed by modifying a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) and graphene oxide (GO) composites. The electrochemical properties of the modified electrode interface were meticulously investigated through cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, employing 1.0 mM [Fe(CN) 6 ] 3– /[Fe(CN) 6 ] 4– as a redox probe. The findings demonstrate that the AgNPs/GO/SPCE composite exhibits superior electrical conductivity and facilitates rapid electron transfer compared to both GO/SPCE and SPCE alone. The electrochemical behavior of BPA on the AgNPs/GO/SPCE electrode was comprehensively studied using CV, revealing exceptional electrocatalytic properties for BPA oxidation. To assess the analytical performance, differential pulse voltammetry was employed. Results unequivocally show a significant improvement in the electrochemical responses when using AgNPs/GO/SPCE. Calibration curves exhibited linear ranges of 0.25–2.19 μM with a remarkable limit of detection of 0.046 μM for BPA. Furthermore, the established method was applied for the determination of BPA in plastic products, achieving satisfactory reproducibility and recovery. This novel AgNPs/GO/SPCE-based sensor holds promise for the sensitive and reliable detection of BPA in various environmental and industrial applications.

Abstract:Herein, an efficient method for in-situ assembly of silver (Ag) nanoparticles on glycine functionalized graphene (Gly-Gr) has been proposed, which only requires a simple one-step hydrothermal reaction. The microstructure of the material (Ag-Gly-Gr) was characterized by a series of methods, such as FT-IR, XRD, and TEM. For comparison, glycine functionalized graphene (Gly-Gr) was prepared by the same way without adding silver nitrate. The electrochemical sensor (Ag-Gly-Gr/GCE or Gly-Gr/GCE) was prepared by coating the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface with dispersive droplets of the related material. The outcomes of the electrochemical impedance test showed that the charge transfer resistance of Ag-Gly-Gr/GCE was less than that of Gly-Gr/GCE and GCE. Compared with the other two sensors, Ag-Gly-Gr/GCE showed a more sensitive response for bergenin. By studying the influence of the pH and sweep rate on the peak potential, the dynamics parameters were discussed to understand the electrochemical reaction mechanism of bergenin. The strategy for quantitative analysis of bergenin was further established at the working potential of 0.8 V (vs. SCE). The peak current of bergenin displayed a linear dependence for concentration in 0.01-1 μM with a detection limit of 3.0 nM. Additionally, the analytical availability of Ag-Gly-Gr/GCE was demonstrated by determining bergenin in real-life samples.

Abstract:We reported an one-pot ultrasonic-assisted method for the preparation of palygorskite nanorods/Super P Li carbon nanoparticles-graphitized carbon nanotubes (PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs) nanocomposite, which was used to modify the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for the fabrication of PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs/GCE sensor. For the PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs nanocomposite, PNRs with good stability presented large specific surface area and high adsorption, which promoted the enrichment of NA molecules on the electrode surface. SPCNPs with pearl chain-like nanostructure exhibited good electrical conductivity, and the combination of SPCNPs and g-CNTs with high graphitization degree formed an interconnected carbon conductive network with excellent electrical conductivity, which enhanced the charge transport efficiency. Moreover, the interconnected carbon conductive network of SPCNPs-g-CNTs not only promoted the dispersion degree of PNRs but also made up for the poor conductivity property of PNRs. When used for the detection of niclosamide (NA), an acceptable limit of detection (3.6 nM) was achieved at the PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs/GCE sensor in linear NA concentration range of 0.01–10 μM. The PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs/GCE sensor exhibited good reproducibility, repeatability, and anti-interference performance. For the practicability measurement, the fabricated sensor showed good practicability with satisfactory recoveries (97.0–102.7%) and low RSD values of 0.99–4.78% for the detection of NA in tap water and lake water samples.

Abstract:Via a single-step electroreduction, the electrochemically reduced graphene oxide/gold nanoparticles (ERGO/AuNPs) composite was prepared on a disposable screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE) for nitrite sensing. The AuNPs can be well dispersed in the stacked and wrinkled ERGO sheets. The possible mechanism for forming the unique structure of the hybrid composite was proposed. The electrochemical studies showed that AuNPs were efficient electrocatalysts towards the oxidation of nitrite, while the winkled ERGO sheets provide a 3D network scaffold for attachment of AuNPs and absorption of abundant nitrite, and promote the rapid heterogeneous electron transfer. The optimization of electrochemical reaction conditions also has been performed. The optimized electrode exhibited excellent properties for the detection of nitrite, including a low oxidation potential (0.65 V), wide linear range (1-6000 mu M), high sensitivity (0.3048 mu A M-1 cm(-2)), low detection limit of 0.13 mu M (S/N = 3), and great selectivity. Moreover, the good accuracy and recovery of ERGO/AuNPs based electrochemical sensor were achieved in the analysis of nitrite in various real food samples. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract:Ni-Zn bimetallic organic framework nanosheets (NiZn-MOF NSs) were modified onto PEI-functionalized MXene for the first time. The combination of the two kinds of nanosheets forms a sensing platform with superior conductivity and biocompatibility. On this basis, a highly sensitive biosensor was developed for the determination of sulfadimethoxine (SDM). Furthermore, Au and Mn nanoparticles decorated reduced graphene oxide (Au-Mn/rGO) was introduced as a signal hindering molecule under the target-induced amplification strategy. When the Au-Mn/rGO-labelled SDM-binding aptamer (Au-Mn/rGO-SBA) specifically bound to target SDM, it detached from the electrode, thereby further amplifying the electrochemical signal of [Fe(CN) 6 ] 3− / 4− . The developed aptasensor for SDM showed excellent response signals in the range 1 pg mL −1 to 100 ng mL −1 , with a limit of detection (LOD) as low as 0.22 pg mL −1 . Significantly, the proposed sensor also showed satisfactory results in milk samples with recoveries ranging from 87.0 to 96.4% and RSD from 1.5 to 5.1%, which is believed to be useful in food safety assays.

Abstract:A series of nanocomposites comprised of homogeneous mesoporous carbon nanospheres embedded with SnOx (x = 0, 1, or 2) and TiO2 nanocrystals using bovine serum albumin (BSA) as template followed by calcinated at different temperatures (300, 500, 700, and 900°C) were prepared, and were denoted as SnOx@TiO2@mC. Then a novel electrochemical biosensing strategy for detecting tobramycin (TOB) based on the nanocomposites was constructed. The as-prepared SnOx@TiO2@mC nanocomposites not only possess high specific surface area and good electrochemical activity but also exhibit strong bioaffinity with the aptamer strands, therefore, they were applied as the scaffold for anchoring TOB-targeted aptamer and further used to sensitively detect trace TOB in aqueous solutions. By comparing the electrochemical biosensing responses toward TOB detection based on the four SnOx@TiO2@mC nanocomposites, the biosensing system constructed with SnOx@TiO2@mC900 (derived at 900°C) demonstrated the highest determination efficiency, high selectivity, and good stability. In particular, the new proposed aptasensing method based on SnOx@TiO2@mC nanocomposite exhibits considerable potential for the quantitative detection of TOB in the biomedical field.
