Abstract:China is the largest producer and exporter of silk product in the world and its silk industry is one of the special export industries which has strong competitive advantages in the international market currently. In this paper,SWOT analysis was carried out on China's silk industry under the particular background of‘post-quota era’of silk trade. The competitive advantages and disadvantages,the opportunities and challenges in the current international environment faced by China's silk industry were analyzed. In addition,countermeasures such as completing the industrial chain in central and western regions of China as soon as possible,promoting technological innovation in silk industry,implementing brand strategy,and expanding the export of finished silk products were proposed for future development of China's silk industry.

Abstract:In order to meet the economic development “shift speed” of the new features, implementation of brand strategy and the development of brand economy has become a boost to the city's economic development and build an economic upgrade version of one of the important path. This paper identified the implementation of brand strategy in the process of problems and countermeasures, to build the city's brand economy and promote economic restructuring and upgrading of the reference. The Brand Strategy in Hangzhou In recent years, the economy in Hangzhou continued rapid and healthy growth. At the same time, Hangzhou has many the Chinese brand-name products, the number of brand-name products in Zhejiang province and vice-provincial cities in a leading position, provincial brand and municipal brand training and new The forefront of the province. As of December 2013, the country has selected 339 brand-name products in China. Hangzhou has 52 Chinese brand-name products. And it is accounting for more than 15% of China's total brand-name products. Zhejiang Province has a total of 254 new brand-name products in 2013, and Hangzhou has 205 provincial-level brand-name products, the new provincial brand-name products 49 (about the total number of 1/5). Hangzhou manufacturing brand is gradually moving to the world market, promote the Hangzhou economic restructuring and accelerate the process of new industrialization, and Hangzhou to become brand-name products to support the economic strong city. From the brand-name structure, industrial brand is still an absolute advantage, but the increase has declined, agricultural brand remained stable, service industry brand showed a rapid growth trend. As of 2013, the city has 449 provincial-level industrial brand-name, city-level industrial brand 883, 2013 provincial and municipal industrial brand accounted for respectively lower than in 2012, 2013 provincial and municipal service brand new number were 27 And 23. The Top Ten Brands of Industrial Layout Gradually Optimized The top ten industries of the focus development in Hangzhou in recent years lead the development of the industry. Brand name in the top ten industrial structure has been gradually optimized. Hangzhou municipal government achieve goals in promoting and nurturing the top ten industry brand-name products. At the end of 2013, the city's top ten industries have more than the number of municipalities as follows: cultural and creative industries 52, tourism and leisure industry 105, financial services 6, 33 e-commerce industry, 51 information software industry, 125 advanced equipment manufacturing industry, 73 Internet of Things, 33 bio-medical industries, 54 energy-saving environmental protection industry, 81 new energy industries. During 2011to 2013, the city's top ten industries to achieve the added value of 390.874 billion, three consecutive years of growth were greater than 10%. And 2013 is accounting for 46.9% of GDP. As of 2013, the city's industrial brand, equipment manufacturing, energy saving and environmental protection, information software, cultural and creative, bio-medicine and other strategic emerging industries, high-tech, high value-added brand-name products accounted for 117, accounting for 12.3%. Abstract:In recent years, the rapid development of Chinese apparel industry has made China the world's largest producer, consumer and exporter of clothing, but it is still a large manufacturer country and a small country of brand which lacks its own international brands. Therefore, besides keeping the amount of production and export, at the same time, Chinese apparel industry has to realize the necessity of creating an international brand. In addition, as for the coming of the post-quota era for the world garment trade and the development trend of garment industrial pattern, they all provide a better environment and better growth space for international trade cooperation for the Chinese apparel industry to create an international brand. This paper mainly focuses on the strategic research for Chinese apparel industry, in order to create an international brand, and hoping that it can achieve this goal as soon as possible.

Abstract:Textile industry is a pillar industry of Shaoxing.It is also one of the traditional labor-intensive industries,which has obvious comparative advantage and high dependence on international markets.The paper selects textile industry of Shaoxing,Zhejiang province as the research subject.Based on the literature of international marketing strategy and export performance,taking the development of Shaoxing textile industry and export into consideration,a theoretical model of international marketing strategy and export performance is built.According to the theoretical model,questionnaires were designed to collect data and information of relevant enterprises.After data are analyzed statistically and structural equation modeling is tested,various factors should be analyzed that have impacts on international marketing strategy and export performance.Finally,research results are explained and discussed,and suggestions on further improving the performance of Shaoxing textile export are brought forward.
Pricing Power of China's Cocoon and Silk Products in International Market:An Empirical Analysis Based on International Market Power

Abstract:Do China's silk products only have advantage in number but no pricing power in international market? In this paper,we used the residual demand elasticity model to estimate the international market power of China's silk products.The empirical results revealed that China's raw material products such as natural silk products and semi-finished products such as satin products had certain market power in the main export markets,but the finished silk products such as woman's blouse or shirts and shawls had no market power in the target markets including USA and Germany.The scale economy from resource endowment and great market share are the base of the international market power of natural silk products.The advantage from industry agglomeration and great market share are the source of the international market power of satin products.Technical bottlenecks and inefficiency in brand building are the cause of unobvious international market power of China's finished silk products,and the competition from Italy and France has increased the difficulty to enhance market power.In order to consolidate and improve the international market power of China's silk products,it is suggested to stabilize the production scale and strengthen industrial base,to speed up the resources integration and optimize the industrial distribution,to strengthen science and technology innovation and adjust product structure,to speed up the brand construction and enhance the influence of brand,and to enlarge the scale of organization and achieve scale economies.

Abstract:After the reform and opening up, a huge fashion market was created in China. The Zhejiang area has been a silk producing area since ancient times. In the 1990’s, it changed to the production area of women’s clothing (Hangzhou Women’s Fashion) with high competitiveness in China. This study investigated the establishment process of Hangzhou Women’s Fashion and discussed its possibility of internationalization. As the results, we emphasized the following. 1) Strong structural reforms were forced before that stage. 2) With this, the former power of the textile industry, mainly state-owned enterprises, has been wiped out. 3) Modeling was acquired by OEM production in the 1980s. 4) However, the company could not learn styling. 5) As a result, counterfeit goods were mass-produced and sold at a low price. 6) Fashion School was established in Zhejiang Sci-Tech University , Formerly Silk Graduate School. 7) Successful people who were excellent in styling from graduates came out. After that, a huge market grew rapidly. Many businesses were culled. Alliances and M & A with foreign companies will not acquire styling ability. In order to sell Hangzhou Women’s Fashion in different country regions, it is necessary to enhance the function of styling.

The Route Choice of the Brand Creation of Chinese Textile Original Equipment Manufacturers in the Post-Financial Crisis Era

Abstract:Since the broke out of the financial crisis, the golden period for the export of Chinese textile and garment has passed, and the process for the global textile and garment manufacture base to transfer gradually from China to India, Pakistan and Southeast Asian countries has started, which is irreversible. It is difficult to finance and find talents; the information flow is not smooth; and the most critical problem is that Chinese textile enterprises which strongly depend on foreign markets can not obtain orders. As such, Chinese garment enterprises have to transfer from original equipment manufactures (OEMs) to brand enterprises to make “made in China” become “brand of China”. The upgrade from OEM to brand creation is the requirement for the sustainable, stable and healthy development of Chinese economy, and also the necessary choice of the textile OEMs to respond to the changes of the domestic and abroad market as well as to develop their own ability. However, the transfer process from OEM to the brand creation is not smooth. The coeffect of many factors will make the textile OEMs dependent on the route and locked in the role of OEM in the value chain. This is proved by the industrial development history of some developing countries and regions as well as the fact of the bankruptcy of some Chinese textile enterprises under the global financial crisis. However, such “lock-in” is not rigid. It is absolutely possible for textile enterprises to upgrade from OEMs to brand creation under certain internal and external conditions.
Development Strategy Study on Export-Oriented Regional Clothing Industrial Cluster

Abstract:China has maintained competitive edge on textile industry after its years of development,thanks to which,an export-oriented clothing industrial cluster of small and medium sized enterprises has formed in China.However,due to the impact of financial crisis in 2008,textile industry has confronted unfavorable economical conditions like increased exchange rate,RMB appreciation,increasing cost of raw material and declining cost advantage of labor force.Thus the export-oriented clothing industrial cluster has encountered a development bottleneck.Nevertheless,the export quota limit on textile products was eliminated by government and textile industry has been incorporated in National Support Program of China's Twelfth Five Year Plan,which brings much opportunity to its development.With support of the government,regional export-oriented clothing industrial cluster can also regain its international competence through industrial restructuring and regional brand establishing.

Abstract:China has been famous for its textile industry since ancient times. Compared with other cities, the development of Suzhou's textile industry is far ahead. The development of Suzhou's textile industry started earlier and developed mature. After the reform and opening up, Suzhou is the first batch of textile export areas. Textile industry is the pillar industry of Suzhou, accounting for a large proportion in Suzhou's export trade. Taking Suzhou Textile as the research object, this paper first analyzes the export situation of Suzhou Textile products from three aspects: export overview, export regional distribution and main export product types. On the basis of analyzing the present situation, Suzhou textile has strong core competitiveness and insufficient production capacity. Green trade barriers increase; Independent innovation ability is not high, lack of brand awareness. Analyze the increase of production cost and low added value of products. Considering the problems, it is suggested to enhance the core competitiveness of products and improve production capacity. Reasonably avoid, establish and improve the early warning mechanism of green barrier. Improve brand awareness and independent innovation ability. Countermeasures and suggestions for the government to increase subsidies and improve the added value of products. Facing this situation, Suzhou municipal government, Suzhou Textile Industry and Suzhou textile enterprises need to actively respond and adjust their strategies in order to remain invincible in trade.
An Analysis on the Status Quo and Evolvement Mechanism for Export Technical Sophistication of China's Silk Industry

Abstract:Based on the status quo of China’s silk industry development during 1992 ～2011,this study estimated and calculated export technical sophistication of China’s silk industry and conducted investigations on distribution and evolvement of the technical structure in exportation trade of China’s silk industry both horizontally and vertically.Furthermore,a dynamic panel data model was built to analyze the evolvement mechanism of silk industry export technical sophistication.The following two conclusions were drawn.Firstly,the export technical sophistication of China’s silk industry experienced an N shaped trend.Its development was rapid after entering the 21st century,but its absolute value of export technical sophistication ranked behind other countries,meaning that China was only a big country but not a strong country in silk export.Secondly,the major driving force for the evolvement of export technical sophistication of China’s silk industry was GDP per capita of which the driving effect is still having the tendency of being enhanced.Except for GDP per capita,export price of silk was also a driving force for increment of silk industry export technical sophistication,while export value is becoming another driving force for promotion of export technical sophistication.

Abstract:The industrial cluster brand in China’s textile and clothing industry is still in the initial stage, factors affecting the development of industrial cluster brand and how to develop the industrial cluster brand of the textile and clothing industry are very concerned by the enterprises, however, systematic research on the theory isn’t perfect. This paper stands the perspective of the initiative of cluster brand to carry on the factor analysis and hypothesis by 5 aspects, and form factors of structural equation model of the textile and clothing industry eventually. After analyzing, estimating and testing the model, I test the hypothesis of the theoretical model, and the results support most hypotheses. This paper aims to make information for textile and clothing enterprises to better understand the influence factor of industry cluster brand development, and take effective measures, which to promoting industry cluster brand development degree.
THE COMPETITIVENESS OF EXPORT-ORIENTED GARMENT INDUSTRY IN GUANGDONG (CHINA) IN THE POST-CRISIS ERA

Abstract:Garment industry is the most traditional and the most fashion industry in the world. The sales of the world textile and apparel goods are only lower than the tourism industry and information industry which means it is the world's third largest industry. As the leading province, Guangdong's output, value and export amount of production rank first in the nation for many years. Despite the rapid development, some problems still expose in Guangdong garment industry. There is a trend showing that the status of the largest garment export province is replaced by Zhejiang Province in these two years. Since the year 2008, Guangdong’s garment industry has to face both domestic and external difficulties, such as the RMB appreciation, the financial crisis, the global economic downturn, lower export tax rebate rate and the rising labor costs, raw material prices, etc. In the post-crisis era, careful study on the international competitiveness of garment industry in Guangdong is very necessary and urgent. In this study, the RCA and Michael E. Porter’s “Diamond Model” are used to evaluate and analyze the industrial competitiveness. The RCA indicates that during the crisis and post-crisis era, Guangdong garment industry still has industrial competitiveness but the competitiveness is on a downward trend. Discussing within the Porter’s “Diamond Model”, Guangdong still has advantages in comparatively low cost labor force, complete chain of textile and garment industry and lots of specialized industrial clusters. But with the increase of costs, shortage of land and labor, lack of own brands and domestic demand, low profit rate and strong rivals, Guangdong’s garment industrial competitiveness seems to became weakened. As the amount of export could reflect the competitiveness in a way, four regressions are generated to detect the factors affecting the export. Some suggestions are raised for upgrading the industrial level.

Abstract:Against the economic globalization background, enterprises in our country are facing the intensifying competition. The current theory is limited in angle of enterprise and industry competition, showing the lack of cluster competitiveness analysis. To most small and medium-sized enterprises without core competitiveness, industry cluster is an effective type of organization to promote the competitiveness. Abstract:The economic recovery after the epidemic is very slow, the recovery of residents' consumption willingness and consumption ability is hindered, and clothing consumption as an optional consumption has been significantly affected. In this paper, the case analysis method is used to analyze the inventory of Heilan Home. The research finds that there are problems of high inventory balance and low inventory turnover in Heilan Home, and the deficiencies in business model, research and development investment, sales channels and too fast expansion are the causes of the problems. Further, the paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions such as doing a good job in market research, increasing investment in product research and development, strengthening online sales, and keeping close relationship with franchisees. In the case of increasingly fierce competition in the garment industry, this has certain reference significance for reducing the inventory pressure of the garment industry and enhancing the ability of enterprises to resist risks.
