Abstract:Pancreatic cancer is a highly malignant tumor and surgical resection is the only curative treatment option. In order to improve the prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer, it is very important to diagnose and evaluate pancreatic cancer accurately and early. Imaging examinations play an important role in tumor detection, staging and surgical resectability evaluation, which can provide reliable evidences for diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer. At present, the imaging techniques commonly used for diagnosis of pancreatic cancer include conventional ultrasound, endoscopic ultrasonography, PET-CT, multi-detector row CT (MDCT), magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),in which MDCT and MRI are the most widely used. In this article, the application and research progress of imaging in accurate diagnosis and evaluation of pancreatic cancer are reviewed.

Abstract:Acute pancreatitis (AP) is caused by acute inflammation of the pancreas and adjacent tissue and is a common source of abdominal pain. The current CT and MRI evaluation of AP is mostly based on morphologic features. Recent advances in image acquisition and analysis offer the opportunity to go beyond morphologic features. Advanced MR techniques such as diffusion-weighted imaging, as well as T1 and T2 mapping, can potentially quantify signal changes reflective of underlying tissue abnormalities. Advanced analytic techniques such as radiomics and artificial neural networks (ANNs) offer the promise of uncovering imaging biomarkers that can provide additional classification and prognostic information. The purpose of this article is to review recent advances in imaging acquisition and analytic techniques in the evaluation of AP.

Abstract:Incubation of herpes simplex virus type 1-infected Vero and HEp-2 cells at a reduced temperature (34 degrees C) enhanced the detection of the nonglycosylated precursors (pgB97 and pgC75) to the gB and gC glycoproteins in the cytoplasmic and nuclear fractions. Relative to the fully glycosylated and high-mannose forms detected, the nonglycosylated precursors were the predominant components associated with the nuclear fraction of infected cells. Furthermore, addition of protease inhibitors to the fractionation buffers did not affect the distribution or abundance of the nonglycosylated precursors, suggesting that the presence of pgB97 and pgC75 was not the result of proteolysis. When infected Vero or HEp-2 cells were harvested at various times postinfection, the nonglycosylated precursors were detected after the initial appearance of the high mannose components (pgB110 and pgC105). In Vero cells, pgB97 and pgC75 were detected simultaneously at 8 h postinfection, whereas detection was not apparent in HEp-2 cells until 20 h postinfection. Conditions which favored detection of appreciable amounts of nonglycosylated precursors provided an unique approach to probe possible post-translational modifications in the absence of inhibitors of glycosylation. In nuclear fractions isolated from cycloheximide-treated HEp-2 or Vero cells, numerous discrete gC-immunoreactive bands migrating with decreased electrophoretic mobility relative to the nonglycosylated precursor pgC75 were observed. This series of one to four additional bands was eliminated by digestion with endoglycosidase H, and the appearance of these bands was blocked by the addition of tunicamycin. Collectively, the data suggest that high-mannose core oligosaccharides may be added to the nonglycosylated precursor of the gC glycoprotein of herpes simplex virus type 1 in a post-translational fashion.

Abstract:MR is a powerful diagnostic tool in the diagnosis and management of most hepatic and pancreatic diseases. Thanks to its multiple sequences, the use of dedicated contrast media and special techniques, it allows a multiparametric approach able to provide both morphological and functional information for many pathological conditions. The knowledge of correct technique is fundamental in order to obtain a correct diagnosis. In this paper, different MR sequences will be illustrated in the evaluation of liver and pancreatic diseases, especially those sequences which provide information not otherwise obtainable with other imaging techniques. Practical MR protocols with the most common indications of MR in the study of the liver and pancreas are provided.

Abstract:Despite advances in noninvasive techniques for imaging the pancreaticobiliary system, several disease processes including indeterminate biliary strictures as well as neuroendocrine tumors, inflammatory pseudotumors, and complex cysts of the pancreas remain difficult to characterize. New endoscopic imaging technologies have emerged to address these challenges. Cholangioscopy and intraductal ultrasound (IDUS) are powerful tools to characterize subtle biliary concretions and strictures. Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy (CLE) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) are emerging approaches for the most difficult biliary lesions. Contrast harmonic endoscopic ultrasound (CH-EUS), elastography, and 3D-EUS are improving the approach to subtle pancreatic lesions, particularly in the context of indeterminate tissue sampling. Pancreatoscopy, pancreatic IDUS, and intracystic CLE hold promise to further improve the assessment of pancreatic cysts. We aim to comprehensively review the emerging clinical evidence for these innovative endoscopic imaging techniques.

Abstract:Magnetic resonance imaging of the pancreas is increasingly used as an important diagnostic modality for characterisation of pancreatic lesions. Pancreatic MRI protocols are mostly qualitative due to time constraints and motion sensitivity. MR Fingerprinting is an innovative acquisition technique that provides qualitative data and quantitative parameter maps from a single free-breathing acquisition with the potential to reduce exam times. This work investigates the feasibility of MRF parameter mapping for pancreatic imaging in the presence of free-breathing exam. Sixteen healthy participants were prospectively imaged using MRF framework. Regions-of-interest were drawn in multiple solid organs including the pancreas and T1 and T2 values determined. MRF T1 and T2 mapping was performed successfully in all participants (acquisition time:2.4-3.6 min). Mean pancreatic T1 values were 37-43% lower than those of the muscle, spleen, and kidney at both 1.5 and 3.0 T. For these organs, the mean pancreatic T2 values were nearly 40% at 1.5 T and < 12% at 3.0 T. The feasibility of MRF at 1.5 T and 3 T was demonstrated in the pancreas. By enabling fast and free-breathing quantitation, MRF has the potential to add value during the clinical characterisation and grading of pathological conditions, such as pancreatitis or cancer.

Abstract:Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a crucial modality for abdominal imaging evaluation of focal lesions and tissue properties. However, several obstacles, such as prolonged scan times, limitations in patients' breath-hold capacity, and contrast agent-associated artifacts, remain in abdominal MR images. Recent techniques, including parallel imaging, three-dimensional acquisition, compressed sensing, and deep learning, have been developed to reduce the scan time while ensuring acceptable image quality or to achieve higher resolution without extending the scan duration. Quantitative measurements using MRI techniques enable the noninvasive evaluation of specific materials. A comprehensive understanding of these advanced techniques is essential for accurate interpretation of MRI sequences. Herein, we therefore review advanced abdominal MRI techniques.

Abstract:Background and Objectives: The pancreas, ensconced within the abdominal cavity, requires a plethora of sophisticated imaging modalities for its comprehensive evaluation, with ultrasonography serving as a primary investigative technique. A myriad of pancreatic pathologies, encompassing pancreatic neoplasia and a spectrum of inflammatory diseases, are detectable through these imaging strategies. Nevertheless, the intricate anatomical confluence and the pancreas's deep-seated topography render the visualization and accurate diagnosis of its pathologies a formidable endeavor. The objective of our paper is to review the best diagnostic imagistic tools for the pancreas. Materials and Methods: we have gathered several articles using Prisma guidelines to determine the best imagistic methods. The imperative of pancreatic scanning transcends its diagnostic utility, proving to be a pivotal element in a multitude of clinical specialties, notably surgical oncology. Within this domain, multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) of the pancreas holds the distinction of being the paramount imaging modality, endorsed for its unrivaled capacity to delineate the staging and progression of pancreatic carcinoma. In synergy with MDCT, there has been a notable advent of avant-garde imaging techniques in recent years. These advanced methodologies, including ultrasonography, endoscopic ultrasonography, contrast-enhanced ultrasonography, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) conjoined with magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP), have broadened the horizon of tumor characterization, offering unparalleled depth and precision in oncological assessment. Other emerging diagnostic techniques, such as elastography, also hold a lot of potential and promise for the future of pancreatic imaging. Fine needle aspiration (FNA) is a quick, minimally invasive procedure to evaluate lumps using a thin needle to extract tissue for analysis. It is less invasive than surgical biopsies and usually performed as an outpatient with quick recovery. Its accuracy depends on sample quality, and the risks include minimal bleeding or discomfort. Results, guiding further treatment, are typically available within a week. Elastography is a non-invasive medical imaging technique that maps the elastic properties and stiffness of soft tissue. This method, often used in conjunction with ultrasound or MRI, helps differentiate between hard and soft areas in tissue, providing valuable diagnostic information. It is particularly useful for assessing liver fibrosis, thyroid nodules, breast lumps, and musculoskeletal conditions. The technique is painless and involves applying gentle pressure to the area being examined. The resulting images show tissue stiffness, indicating potential abnormalities. Elastography is advantageous for its ability to detect diseases in early stages and monitor treatment effectiveness. The procedure is quick, safe, and requires no special preparation, with results typically available immediately. Results: The assembled and gathered data shows the efficacy of various techniques in discerning the nature and extent of neoplastic lesions within the pancreas. Conclusions: The most common imaging modalities currently used in diagnosing pancreatic neoplasms are multidetector computed tomography (MDCT), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), alongside new technologies, such as elastography.
Multiparametric Mapping Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Pancreatic Disease

Abstract:Background: Current magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of pancreatic disease is qualitative in nature. Quantitative imaging offers several advantages, including increased reproducibility and sensitivity to detect mild or diffuse disease. The role of multiparametric mapping MRI in characterizing various tissue types in pancreatic disease such as chronic pancreatitis (CP) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has rarely been evaluated. Purpose: To evaluate the feasibility of multiparametric mapping [T1, T2, and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC)] in defining tissue characteristics that occur in CP and PDAC to improve disease diagnosis. Materials and methods: Pancreatic MRI was performed in 17 patients with PDAC undergoing therapy, 7 patients with CP, and 29 healthy volunteers with no pancreatic disease. T1 modified Look-Locker Inversion Recovery (T1 MOLLI), T2-prepared gradient-echo, and multi-slice single-shot echo-planar diffusion weighted imaging (SS-EPI DWI) sequences were used for data acquisition. Regions of interest (ROIs) of pancreas in PDAC, CP, and control subjects were outlined by an experienced radiologist. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to compare the difference between groups and regions of the pancreas, and Tukey tests were used for multiple comparison testing within groups. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curves were analyzed, and the areas under the curves (AUCs) were calculated using single parameter and combined parameters, respectively. Results: T1, T2, and ADC values of the entire pancreas among PDAC, CP, and control subjects; and between upstream and downstream portions of the pancreas in PDAC patients were all significantly different (p < 0.05). The AUC values were 0.90 for T1, 0.55 for T2, and 0.71 for ADC for independent prediction of PDAC. By combining T1, T2, and ADC, the AUC value was 0.94 (sensitivity 91.54%, specificity 85.81%, 95% CI: 0.92-0.96), which yielded higher accuracy than any one parameter only (p < 0.001). Conclusion: Multiparametric mapping MRI is feasible for the evaluation of the differences between PDAC, CP, and normal pancreas tissues. The combination of multiple parameters of T1, T2, and ADC provides a higher accuracy than any single parameter alone in tissue characterization of the pancreas.
MR Dynamic Gadolinium-enhanced Fast Multiplanar Spoiled Gradient-Echo and Spin-Echo T1-weighted Fat-Suppressed Techniques in Diagnosis of Pancreatic Carcinoma.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the value of MR dynamic Gadolinium-enhanced fast multiplanar spoiled gradient-echo (FMPSPGR) and spin-echo (SE) T1-weighted fat-suppressed techniques in the diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma.METHODS:Eighteen cases of pancreatic carcinoma verified by surgical and pathologic results were examined by MR, and the MR sequences included SE T1WI, FSE T2WI, SE T1-weighted fat-suppressed and dynamic Gadolinium-enhanced FMPSPGR.RESULTS:Of 18 pancreatic carcinomas, 10, 6, and 2 tumors showed respectively hypo-intensity, iso-intensity and hyper-intensity on SE T1WI, meanwhile, 8, 6, and 4 tumors displayed hyper-intensity, iso-intensity and hypo-intensity on FSE T2WI in comparison with the normal pancreatic tissue. All of the tumors showed hypo-intensity on SE T1-weighted fat-suppressed and also obvious non-enhancement or slight enhancement on MR dynamic Gadolinium-enhanced FMPSPGR images during the arterial dominant phase scanning.CONCLUSION:SE T1-weighted fat-suppressed and MR dynamic Gadolinium-enhanced FMPSPGR sequences could evidently improve the sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma.
An Approach of the Technique on MRI Perfusion Imaging of Normal Pancreas

Abstract:Objective To explore the technique of MRI perfusion imaging in normal pancreas. Methods 20 cases of normal pancreas(without pancreatic diseases)underwent MRI perfusion imaging using PHILIPS 1.5T unit with 3DTHRIVE.12×4 collimation,4 mm slice thickness,20 ml Gadopentetic Acid Dimeglumine 0.5 mmol/ml MagnevistR were used,the flow rate was 3.5 ml/s with a power injection,5 seconds delay,and data acquisition lasted for 120 seconds.These data were processed on a View Forum workstation using MR Brest Imaging(in Qualitity Analysis)software package,and the datas were measured and statistically analyzed. Results The data of perfusion imaging in normal pancreas was:maximum relative enhancement 95.69%;wash in rate 19.51 L/s;wash out rate 26.05 L/s;time to peak 31.33/ s;time of arrival 20.53/ s;area under the curve 15924.56 ml/(min·kg). Conclusion MRI perfusion imaging is of significant value in clinic diagnosis.

Abstract:PET and MRI both play valuable roles in the management of hepatobiliary and pancreatic (HBP) malignancies. Simultaneous PET/MRI combines the excellent soft-tissue resolution and anatomic details from MRI with functional information from PET in a single comprehensive examination. MRI is the main imaging modality in evaluating HCC, playing important roles in screening, characterization, local extent, and evaluating tumor response, whereas 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET can help evaluate for lymph node involvement and metastatic disease. In cholangiocarcinoma and pancreatic malignancies, both PET and MRI have excellent utility in initial staging as well as assessing treatment response. In all HBP malignancies, FDG-PET/MRI is a unique problem-solving tool in complex cases and diagnostic challenges, especially after locoregional therapy and when differentiating residual or recurrent viable disease from inflammatory and other benign processes. In this manuscript, we review the role of PET/MRI in the diagnosis, staging, assessing treatment response, and characterizing post-treatment processes. With the introduction of multiple new tracers, the value of PET/MRI has not yet been fully realized, and more studies are needed to demonstrate the utility and efficacy of PET/MRI in improving patient care in hepatobiliary and pancreatic oncology.

Abstract:Conventional T1- and T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the pancreas can vary significantly due to factors such as scanner differences and pulse sequence variations. This review explores T1 and T2 mapping techniques, modern MRI methods providing quantitative information about tissue relaxation times. Various T1 and T2 mapping pulse sequences are currently under investigation. Clinical and research applications of T1 and T2 mapping in the pancreas include their correlation with fibrosis, inflammation, and neoplasms. In chronic pancreatitis, T1 mapping and extracellular volume (ECV) quantification demonstrate potential as biomarkers, aiding in early diagnosis and classification. T1 mapping also shows promise in evaluating pancreatic exocrine function and detecting glucose metabolism disorders. T2* mapping is valuable in quantifying pancreatic iron, offering insights into conditions like thalassemia major. However, challenges persist, such as the lack of consensus on optimal sequences and normal values for healthy pancreas relaxometry. Large-scale studies are needed for validation, and improvements in mapping sequences are essential for widespread clinical integration. The future holds potential for mixed qualitative and quantitative models, extending the applications of relaxometry techniques to various pancreatic lesions and enhancing routine MRI protocols for pancreatic pathology diagnosis and prognosis.
MR Imaging for Experimental Chronic Pancreatitis

Abstract:Objective To study the features of experimental chronic pancreatitis(CP) in piglets on non-enhanced MR imaging.Methods Twenty-two piglets were included in the study.They were 7 normal piglets,7 piglets with Grade 1,4 piglets with Grade 2 and 4 piglets with Grade 3 CP pathology.MR imaging was performed on 1.5T MR scanner using a synergy body phased-array coil before histopathology,including abdominal axial fat-suppressed fast spoiled gradient-echo T1-weighted(GRE T1W),axial fat-suppressed fast-recovery fast spin-echo T2-weighted(FRFSE T2W) and MR cholangiopancreatography(MRCP).The morphology,signal intensity and pancreatic duct of the pancreas on MR images were noted.Results In the 22 piglets,no significant differences could be seen for pancreatic atrophy on MR imaging among groups(p>0.05).The main pancreatic duct in normal group could not be depicted on MR images.The diameters of the main pancreatic duct were 0.6mm,2.5mm and 4.5mm for grade 1,3 and 3 CP,respectively.The signal intensity of the pancreas was higher than that of the liver on GRE T1-weighted images,and was comparable to that of the liver on FRFSE T2W images in normal piglets and grade 1 CP.The pancreatic signal intensity was decreased in 75% of CP grade 2 and 100% of CP grade 3,respectively.There were no significant differences for above pancreatic patterns between normal piglets and pigs with Grade 1 CP.The dilatation of the pancreatic duct was related to the severity of CP(r= 0.885,p<0.05).Conclusion Experimental chronic obstructive pancreatitis can be detected and be partially graded by non-enhanced MR imaging.

Abstract:Objective To evaluate MR dynamic contrast FMPSPGR and T 1WI+Fat suppress techniques in the diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma.Materials and Methods MRI was performed in 18 cases with surgico-pathologically proved pancreatic carcinoma. SE T 1WI, FSE T 2WI, SE T 1WI+Fat suppress and dynamic contrast FMPSPGR sequences were used in MR scanning.Results On SE T 1WI the lesions showed hypo- intensity in 10, iso-intensity in 6 and hyper-intensity in 2 cases, while on FSE T 2WI the lesions displayed hypo-intensity in 4, iso-intensity in 6 and hyper-intensity in 8 cases. In contrast, on SE T 1WI+Fat suppress all the tumors appeared hypo-intensity. With dynamic contrast FMPSPGR sequence all lesions showed hypo-intensity without or with only slight enhancement during arterial phase scanning.Conclusion SE T 1WI+Fat suppress and dynamic contrast FMPSPGR sequences can surely improve both the sensitivity and specificity of the diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma.

Methods Twenty healthy volunteers and 25 patients with pancreatic cancers proven by pathological results underwent MR PWI at a 3.0 T scanner. A two-compartment model was used to quantify Ktrans, Kep and Ve in the pancreatic cancer, adjacent pancreatic tissue, distal inflammatory pancreatic tissue and normal pancreatic tissue. All parameters among different tissues were analyzed and compared with ANONA. Fifteen normal volunteers and 58 patients, including 30 patients with pancreatic cancer (proven histopathologically), 9 patients with pancreatitis pseudotumor (4 patients proven by histopathological results, 5 patients proven by follow-up after treatment), 9 patients with solid pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas (SPTP, proven histopathologically) and 10 patients with pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PET, proven by histopathology), underwent respiratory-triggered DWI on 3.0 T. ADC values of normal pancreas and all types of pancreatic lesions were statistically analyzed and compared with ANONA. ROC curve was used to analyze the diagnostic power of ADC value. Results Ktrans of pancreatic cancer, adjacent pancreatic tissue, distal inflammatory pancreatic tissue and normal pancreatic tissue were (1.66±1.25), (3.77±2.67),(1.16±0.94) and (2.69±1.46)/min respectively(F=8.160, P＜0.01). LSD test showed that Ktrans in the pancreatic cancer was statistically lower than that in normal pancreas (P=0.011)and adjacent pancreatic tissue(P=0.002). Kep of pancreatic cancer, adjacent pancreatic tissue, distal inflammatory pancreatic tissue and normal pancreatic tissue were (2.53±1.55), (5.64±2.64), (1.70±0.91) and (4.28±1.64)/min respectively(F=4.544, P＜0.01). LSD test revealed that Kep in pancreatic cancer was statistically lower than that in normal pancreatic tissue (P=0.035)and adjacent pancreatic tissue(P=0.041). The median of Ve among the pancreatic cancer, adjacent pancreatic tissue, distal inflammatory pancreatic tissue and normal pancreatic tissue were 0.926, 0.839, 0.798 and 0.659 respectively (χ2=12.040,P＜0.01). Ve in pancreatic cancer was statistically higher than that in normal pancreatic tissue (P=0.002). ADC values of the pancreatic cancer, pancreatitis pseudotumor, SPTP, PET and normal pancreas were(1.57±0.26)×10-3,(1.19±0.15)×10-3,(1.05±0.35)×10-3,(1.62±0.41)×10-3 and (1.82±0.25)×10-3 mm2/s(F=21.681, P＜0.01). LSD test showed there were significant statistical differences in ADC values among pancreatic cancer, pancreatitis pseudotumor and normal pancreatic tissue (P＜0.01). ROC curve disclosed that the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 86.7%, 88.9%, 96.3% and 66.7% respectively, when ADC≥1.33×10-3 mm2/s was used as a cutoff value for differential diagnosis of PDCA from MLP. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 77.8%, 100.0%, 100.0% and 83.3% respectively when ADC≤1.25×10-3 mm2/s was used as a cutoff value for differential diagnosis of SPTP from PET. Conclusion Compared to normal pancreatic tissue, pancreatic cancer usually had a lower Ktrans, Kep and larger Ve. ADC values from respiratory-triggered DWI were well related to histopathological features of pancreatic entities and may be helpful in the differential diagnosis.

Abstract:Magnetic resonance cholangio-pancreaticograpy (MRCP) is a non-invasive imaging modality of the pancreatico-biliary system which plays an increasingly important role in the clinical and diagnostic workup of patients with biliary or pancreatic diseases. The present review is designed to give an overview of the currently available and appropriate sequences, their technical background, as well as new developments and their relevance to the various clinical issues and challenges. The impact of the latest technical innovations, such as integrated parallel imaging techniques and navigator-based respiratory triggering, on the diagnostic capacities of MRCP is discussed. In this context, the individual value of RARE, T2w single shot turbo/fast spin echo (SSFSE) and the recently introduced 3D T2w turbo/fast spin echo sequences (T2w 3D-T/FSE) is reviewed. RARE imaging may be preferred in severely ill patients with limitations in cooperation, SSFSE is particularly effective in differentiating benign and malignant stenosis, and 3D-FSE offers additional advantages in the detection of small biliary concrements.
[Evaluation of 2D and 3D MRI Imaging in the Diagnosis of Pancreatic Carcinoma].

Abstract:OBJECTIVETo evaluate various kinds of sequences and modified dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI methods in the diagnosis of pancreatic carcinoma.METHODSForty-nine pancreatic carcinoma patients proved by histopathology or clinical examination and follow-up underwent MR examination. Plain MR sequences included: T1-weighted 2D FLASH, T1 WI 3D VIBE, TSE T2 WI and HASTE with FS. Modified dynamic contrast-enhanced scanning procedures were coronal scaning with 3D FLASH and axial scaning using T1 WI 3D VIBE sequences in turn for the upper abdominal area and pancreatic area. The coronal imaging were used to obtain 3D peripancreatic vessels during arterial phase and portal vein phase scanning, respectively. The axial imaging were used to detect the tumor in pancreatic parenchymal phase and delayed phase scanning, respectively. Final scanning for the whole upper abdomen was performed using T1 WI 2D FLASH axial sequence.RESULTS(1) Of 49 lesions in these patients, 45 showed hypo-intensity and 4 iso-intensity on 3D VIBE. Forty-six lesions showed hypo-intensity and 3 isointensity on 2D FLASH. On TSE T2 + FS, lesion contour was not clear enough; 3 of them displayed isointensity, the other showed iso- or hyper-intensity. (2) During pancreatic parenchymal phase, 48 lesions showed hypo-intensity and 39 ring enhancement. Twenty-four lesions displayed marginal tubercle and inner compartment enhancement during portal vein and delayed phase. Six lesions showed iso- or hyper-intensity in delayed phase. (3) Thirty-seven patients underwent surgical exploration. MRI and MRA had a good correlation with surgical findings for peripancreatic vessels which were diagnosed as being invasive or noninvasive by tumors except three superior mesenteric arteries and four superior mesenteric veins being misdiagnosed.CONCLUSIONAs"one-stop-shop" MRI examination, modified MRI sequences consisting of dynamic coronal and axial contrast-enhanced scanning is feasible and helpful in diagnosing, staging and assessing the resectability for pancreatic carcinoma.
