Abstract:• New human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections continue to occur in the United States, with certain groups disproportionately impacted. • Oral and injectable pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is highly effective in preventing HIV and offers individuals at risk of acquiring HIV an opportunity to prevent infection. • Significant disparities remain in PrEP access and uptake. • Strategies to address this disparity must occur at the individual, provider, and system levels.
